if the Barbie movie came out around the same area and time period, him and Noodle would have definitely dressed in all pink and only Wonka would have bawled his eyes out while Noodle begrudgingly consoles him

definitely goes back out to sea for a whole month once a year, and with the same crew he was first seen with in the beginning of the film. He misses them dearly, and always shares his chocolate with them free of charge

this man has chocolates for everything—chocolates to sleep better, chocolates to enhance focus and even chocolates to calm down (either from panic attacks or intense emotions like anger)

he probably even sells chocolates with vitamins inside, mostly also for children who don’t remember or don’t want to take their vitamins, but he was careful not to make it too good so they won’t take more than the necessary daily amount

he learned to cook after the events of the movie, finding that knowledge in that area would help enhance his skill in chocolate-making. He’s good, but of course he’s not a sous chef

Tricky: THE ULTIMATE NEVADEAN CHAMPION. He's a horror show abomination in most contexts, he's also a funny little fucker, and not even God can make death stick. He's a very funny chewtoy, and I go fucking insane about him with the context of Hofnarr in play.

Bibble: Because I couldn't just pick seventeen Barbie characters. I picked ONE. So I'm picking the funny little jabbering guy.

Janus Sanders: Spent several videos being an ominous little shit who wouldn't even tell us his name, and proceeds to do a heelturn-faceplate directly into camp villain city. Cheese bucket shithead (/affectionate).

Alfindi: (yes he's my favorite. Some of you won't be surprised. I am pointing a nerf gun at you.) He's a smartass, he's got trauma, he dunks on the criminals, and I want to put him in the pear wiggler.

Harley Quinn: I spent 5 minutes running up to goons and bonking them with the giant fucking hammer while cackling hysterically as a kid. All variants are valid but SHE is my OG. Shoutout to her and Ivy <3

The Curious Case of Ken

or

Ken and the Rabbit Hole

I don't mean Barbie's Ken, but Ken Williams. And I don't mean the actual guy either, but some of his appearances in the old Sierra adventure games.

There's something pretty silly going on, y'see?

Okay so here's the thing.

Part the First - Larry

Chronologically, we start at Leisure Suit Larry 1. The guy in the white shirt telling jokes in Lefty's bar is supposed to be Ken Williams. Looking at the original source code for the AGI version, he's just "the bore", but the SCI version explicitly calls him "Ken". He also visually matches the Ken who walks up to congratulate you at the end, save for the outfit.

In the sequel, we meet Chief Kenniwauwau. The code again confirms what the art suggests: this is a riff on Ken Williams. So far no foul, it's not like there's a law against two big men named Ken coexisting.

Leisure Suit Larry 3 has the Chief renamed to Chairman Kenneth, but he uses the same sprites as in the previous game so you know it's still him. So far so good. But then in the end Larry and Patti travel to the "real" world and Larry gets hired by Sierra to make the very trilogy you just played. Okay, that's fun.

And then in the sixth game you find the guy from the bar floating around in La Costa Lotta's pool, up to his old thing. He is explicitly identified in the text as the same guy.

Did Larry travel back to his home world at some time? Was it a side effect of whatever happened in Leisure Suit Larry 4 - The Missing Floppies?

Part the Second - Roger

Relatively straightforward, really. In Space Quest 3, Roger rescues the Two Guys from Andromeda, flies into a black hole, and ends up near Earth. He lands in Coarsegold, near the Sierra office, and the Two Guys are hired... by Ken Williams.

But there's also a Ken, white shirt and all, who works as a slave driver for ScumSoft™. Again, the code confirms it's him. Again, there's no law that says you can't have two of them.

The fact that Roger can just take the slightly longer way back and take a pit stop on Magmetheus implies to me that Roger's world is the "real" world that Larry ended up in. But at the same time, there's a set for Space Quest 2 at the end of LSL3...

Part the Third - The Rest of It

Also at the end of LSL3 are sets for King's Quest 4 and Police Quest 1. We even see (an actress depicting) Rosella try to climb the (fake) whale's tongue in that scene.

But if you press the forbidden button in Space Quest 1, you end up in King's Quest 1, meaning King's Quest isn't "just" an act. And as the Twitter thread formerly linked above showed, King's Quest appears to share a world, to some degree, with Quest for Glory.

And if Space Quest 3 is set in the mid to late 1980s (local Coarsegold time) since that's when Larry and the Two Guys are supposedly hired, and is mostly set in the same universe as the "real" world if not several star systems away, how can there be a starship Enterprise docked at Monolith Burger?

On top of that, the backstory for Space Quest 4 states that everything involving Vohaul's return is because of an infected copy of LSL4, which was considered lost since forever, and the bargain bin all but spells out that the SQ10 - Latex Babes segment is set in the very far future, considering it has King's Quest 48.

So if Roger traveled to 1980s Earth, specifically 1984 Earth since Mark Crowe has to be there to help with King's Quest 1... well, six more Space Quest sequels isn't nearly enough time for King's Quest to get up to forty eight.

So yeah, very messed up.

my names tula, and i'm a registered pokémon nurse with a horrible tendency to ramble. i live in unova and do some work here, but i mainly travel to other regions for this.

i am a former member of team plasma. former. my username is ironic because i cope with humor.

i ran away from home at age 14- it's a long story - and ended up being indoctrinated in. i, like many others, were lucky to have a sort of "snap to reality" moment after ghetsis' first arrest, before the formation of neo plasma, but not before i spent 10 years of my life working for him. many people are shocked by how open i am about my experience, but i think its extremely important to talk about these things: if i could help just one person leave this cycle, or keep someone from entering it, then it would make the shame worth it.

i have dedicated my life to helping pokémon, as a way to attone, i suppose. my darling solosis, mini, travels with me, though i must admit she's quite the spoiled brat. to have such an innocent creature love and trust you is the most healing experience someone can ask for, and i acknowledge that i was so very lucky. i had a home to return to, i was able to find work despite my history, and physically, i bear only a scar on my back and a missing finger... also just so we all know i am a natural ginger and i am not going to dye my hair please stop asking thanks

I may be about to do something crazy.

So, I've been following the Villain Song Showdown by @its-to-the-death , and while there are some underapprecited gems in there (I am so glad Barbie Villains are getting some recognition), there was a lack of VeggieTales Villain Songs.

I tried to think of any that I might have submitted if I'd known about the tournament during submissions, and well... there were a few.

I'm posting this because I think it's worth preserving. I don't see Steven Wright as often as I did when he was making the rounds of the late night talk shows, but I'm reminded how funny he always was whenever I catch episode 14 of season one of the Ted Danson comedy Becker. Titled "Larry Spoke," Wright played a character named Boyd Crossman who claimed he talked to God, and that God's first name was Larry. The script was obviously tailored to suit his particular brand of humor. It's one of the best episodes of that very fine series, and the list below will remind you of

THE INVISIBILITY PROJECT: WOMEN ON THE VERGE Festival to be Presented at Polaris North

"The Invisibility Project: Women on the Verge" is a New York play festival produced by Rose-Marie Brandwein that will have performances on Friday, November 15, 16 and 17 at Polaris North (245 W. 29th Street) starting at 7 pm, with a Sunday Matinee at 3 pm.

This festival, which launched on November 14, is co-sponsored by Honor Roll!, a grassroots program that advocates for women+ playwrights over 40.

The Invisibility Project was conceived to provide female playwrights over the age of 40 with greater visibility and an opportunity to give voice to their creativity. Their works collectively and individually honor the female spirit of resilience, passion and determination.

The cast includes Ange Berneau*, Carol Carter*, Ms. D, Mary Keefe*, Kassie Kole, Lucy McMichael*, Vivian Meisner*, John L. Payne*, Alexis Schreiber, William Shuman*, Barbie Seigle, and Diane Tyler* (*Members, AEA).

Plays are directed by Eric Diamond, Edgar Chisholm, John L.Payne and D.B. Smith.

HONOR ROLL! is a grass-roots group whose members self-initiate actions to increase our inclusion in theater. Honor Roll! is an advocacy and action group of women+ playwrights over 40 as well as our women+ over 40 allies. The term "women+" refers to a spectrum of gender identification. Honor Roll members are the generation excluded at the outset of their careers because of sexism, now overlooked because of ageism. The organization celebrates diversity in theater and works to eliminate age discrimination as it intersects with sexism and other biases including those based on race, gender identity, ethnicity, faith, socioeconomic status, disability, and sexual orientation in the American Theater and beyond.
