1/144 Real Grade

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn

This one has been delayed long enough lol. This will be the overall review for the kit in both modes. To be honest, the Real Grade Gundam Banshee Norn was not a kit that I was originally keen acquiring. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the color scheme and flared v-fin design of the Banshee initially, but I admit that the design has really grown on me to the point where it’s now a top favorite of mine. Quite the 180. This setiment was only increased after building this awesome and fantastic kit.

Aesthetically, this kit is an absolute unit of gunpla. As a real grade, the surface detail is of course gold standard, and I really like that they decided to go with a dark blue and purple combo which nicely compliment the gold/yellow. However, the slight color differentation between the dark blue and purple isn’t as noticeable as on the Unicorn Gundam. Additonally, Bandai have yet to nail a solid injected plastic gold color, but the one for the RG Banshee Norn is decent.

Articulalation overall is the superb RG standard, and the joints are some of the tightest joints I’ve ever had the pleasure of handling. A little too tight at spots, but nothing a little loosening via various methods can’t fix This kit can reliable achieve and hold almost any pose you desire in both the Unicorn and NT-D modes. Handling on this kit is also great, despite the transformation feature. There are several locking mechanisms that keep most of the moved armor panels in place. However, there are a few panels that will almost always close when handling, and that would be the additional thrusters on the backpack and back skirt. It’s not a big deal, but can be a slight nuisance at times.

In terms of features and equipment, the RG Banshee Norn boasts an impressive array of armed armors and beam weaponry. There are the Armed Armors XC and DE, attached to the backpack and shield respectively and providing increased offensive and defensive capabilities. In addition to the Beam Magnum, there is the underslung multi-ordinance revolving launcher which can deploy a beam jutte, and 4 total beam sabers - 2 stored on the Armed Armor XC and 2 mounted as deployable tonfas.

I’ve had this kit for a few months now, and it’s probably one of the top best looking OOB builds I have. Highly recommended. Hopefully I can get my hands on that P-Bandai equipment expansion set.

Here’s An On-Feet Look At The Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High White

Part of the upcoming Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High Project Unicorn collaboration, here is a first look at the Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High in the White colorway.

The Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High Project Unicorn will include two special iterations of the Nike SB Dunk High, both inspired by the popular Japanese figurines, Gundam. Specifically, the Unicorn Gundam is the source of inspiration for the duo as seen with the logo printed on the heel counter. Each pair is done in a color scheme derived from the RX-O and Banshee Norn Destroy Mode suits. Standout details include the interchangeable and modified Swooshes as a nod to its toy counterpart. The panels throughout the upper mirror the look of the fictional Gundam suit. A sheet of decals allowing you to customize the sneakers will also be a part of the release.

Get an on-feet look at the White pair from the Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High Project Unicorn collection above. Current reports suggest we see them drop very soon at select skate shops. Stay tuned for additional images and confirmed release info.

Let's Build the RX-0[N] Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee Norn (Destroy Mode)!

1/144 Scale HGUC from Gundam Unicorn! A gift from my friend @sirswede when he went to Anime Expo 2018!

Quite the impressive box art if I do say so myself. Can't tell you how excited I was to get her. I was super pumped when she came in.

Five bags of sprues, not bad. Nothin I'm not used to.

Torso with what I'm guessing are psychomu enhancing panels.

Arms with so many small parts. Not very sturdy, I had to glue mine to keep them from popping off.

Complete with slots for beam saber hilts!

Look, ma! No articulation! The right leg is so flimsy; and it's ONLY the right leg! The left one is heckin strong but the right pretty much told me to choke it.

Here's the front of the armored skirt. The front flaps don't hold very well. You breathe on them and they come loose.

Back of the armored skirt. Those rocket flaps are just as bad as the front ones.

Here is the booster/shield! I accidentally broke the connector that seats it on Banshee's back ^^; So it's a forever shield now.

And here she is all put together! I have so many complaints!! Posing is impossible! ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE!! Who in Bandai thought it was a good idea to make a kit into a gd hand grenade?! Just looking at Banshee wrong and she falls apart! Her arms are WEAK! There's no articulation! None! Any you get results in something coming off! Wanna pose the legs? Pop! There goes the leg. You wanna pose the arms? Do you want the whole arm off or just the elbow? I wasn't kidding when I said I had to glue that shit. There's no head movement thanks to those pannels, she's constantly looking down like she's regretting her life choices! The crown/horn won't stay on for it's fucking life! Also, you want beam saber effects? Fuck you, rob a different kit for those! You only get effects for the gun! We're Bandai and we put NO thought into this High Grade! You want a Banshee Norn kit? Don't get the HG. Avoid it like it holds the gd plague.

That being said, it still looks really good. I love the clear parts and the navy blue colors. I like flashy and Banshee is definitely flashy. It has great aesthetics. I love the kit but do not expect me to touch it ever again!
