Aiden Stark was staring. The mutant, runny away brother, was unsure what to say. The fact that Bruce Banner was at the bar, on the beach he was at. The same scentist who worked with his older brother. The Hulk if Aiden was correct. And he wasn't that sure what to say. He came this far, from others to work on his powers. He was perfectly fine, to know his brother was safe and okay.. even with out him. He played with empty cup as started at the tv than to the avenger, than to the tv again. Anxiety built up in his chest. And he found himself almost breaking the empty glass, due to his strength. He took breathe shaking his head, his gaze went towards Bruce again. He was moving before he could think about it. Finding himself behind the other. His hand reaching out, before he could speak.

Aiden cleared his throat. " Dr... Banner" he asked softly. Not wanting to get attention of the others. Or to make the other uncomfortable.

It had been a long night of studies, hours spent staring at a high-tech screen, looking at his own altered DNA. He was hitting dead end after dead end with each ticking moment, and frankly, the scientist was tired of constantly losing. As the sun rose above the tropical horizon, the only thing Bruce Banner could feel was dread- and exhaustion. And yet, there Bruce sat, seemingly sticking out like a sore thumb against the beach-themed tiki bar. It was relatively empty- given that it was ten in the morning, the only other bar-goers seeming in the same headspace as the sunken-eyed scientist. His mind was a million miles away, elbow propped up against the bar's surface as he waited for the one bartender on shift to make his Miami Vice. Maybe it was a little early to start drinking, much less a frozen beverage, but his mind was whirring too quickly and he needed to calm down. The ravenet managed to snap away from his spiraling thoughts as the drink was slid toward him, flashing a little grateful grin before sipping the icy beverage. Slowly immersing himself in his surroundings, finally able to hear the Bob Marley song playing throughout the tiki bar. Bruce Banner gazed up at the muted TVs then, his drinking pace brutal as The Avengers flashed on the glowing screen. Something about Steve Rogers being a criminal, Banner was already looking away before he could process the words. Bruce didn't want to prove himself right, that his worries about the team were correct and he should be on this god-forsaken beach. Rubbing the bridge of his nose with a sigh, the scientist reached for his empty drink, lips pressing together as he realized his first beverage was already finished. "Hey, uh, can I get another one of these, please?" Bruce called to the bartender, who only nodded. Banner looked back toward the other TV, showing a golfing match- only for a hand to clamp down onto his shoulder.

Live from America, it's the House of Googie!

It's been a while since I've posted here, but that's because I've been working on something big. Really big.

I'm travelling to America!

To celebrate my 30th birthday, I'll be visiting California, Nevada, and Arizona, the very home of Googie, and taking in the sights. San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and plenty of other places, I can't wait to see them all! For a guy from New Zealand who's only visited south-eastern Australia, this is huge.

I'll also be visiting KoHoSo, who some of you may remember from the retro Tumblr community last decade. He's been hard at work finding all sorts of mid-century sights and delights for me, and a lot of this trip couldn't have been done without his help.

Of course, I'll do my best to share some of the Atomic Age goodness that I find here; after more than a decade, I'll finally be able to show my own Googie pictures! And that is very important to me, because Googie is Good™.
