also a unique problem ive run into while playing a game for this many generations for the first time is that my sims are kind of in a constant state of mourning bc everyone is always dying. like in the period that my oldest sims are adults it's pretty calm but now that my oldest sims are elders, a new person everyone in the household knows dies like once every other day so any time theyve finally moved on from a death someone new has died. everyone is so sad constantly

(This is the time to confess that I probably put my hands wherever my great aunt taught me to in order to play silent night, so not proper middle c at all, probably. Which is the only song I ever learned to play on the piano, much to her chagrin - she really wanted to get another church pianist out of one of her sister's grandkids.)

At the half way point and I've gotten bored of this broken rib stitch. So Instead I've swapped to a dot texture pattern?? It doesn't show up super well with this yarn but it's fun to knit.

Another thing that doesn't show up well in this yarn is. The mistake I made about 30 rows ago. Where I was knitting where I should've purled and purling where I should've knit. If I'm looking for it specifically I can find it but from a distance it blends in well enough I don't feel any pressure to fix it.

Goes to show tho that it doesn't matter if you have ten days of experience or ten years, it's easy to make mistakes when you don't pay attention.

My Wips have Wips at this point but this is another Hanukkah present. Early on in my experimenting with crochet (like 2018 ish) I had made a waffle stitch cowl that my mum really liked but unfortunately got lost when we were moving house. I don't have any interest in remaking that particular cowl but this broken rib is similar and easy enough to knit while reading/not paying attention.

My mum's only request was that it was long enough to go around her neck twice and that it matches her jacket (a light plum colour). Together we picked out Hobbii's Fantasy Jumbo in Japanese Maples which matches her coat well enough and is extremely soft and easy to work with.

I cast on 33 stitches yesterday provisionally and will knit in pattern until it's long enough/I'm almost out of yarn before kitchenering the ends together and hoping I don't!! Twist!!
