Woo-hoo—I just scored two tickets to see JOHN MULANEY again in Atlantic City! 🥳

The last time I saw him perform was October of 2021, so a VERY different experience three years ago (wore masks, had to show vax cards, etc.).

I'm going to be attending with my boyfriend Jeff now instead of my ex-husband, so that's a big change as well!

Sorry that I've been neglecting posting, but I've been consumed with work and everything Childish Gambino since seeing him IN CONCERT last Wednesday (an absolutely incredible show I can't stop thinking about lol).

I'm hoping seeing John again will help fix my comedy writing block...I have so many ideas and no interest in actually posting them on my website.

Shouhei Akagi

Favourite fruit?

I feel like it’s either some type of melon or possibly berries. For melons, though, he’d prefer something along the lines of a honeydew or cantaloupe over watermelon…I mean, he’ll still eat watermelon and enjoy it but he just prefers something with a little more flavour overall. For berries, I can see him liking blueberries or blackberries the best, just something a little tart but still sweet all at once.

Do they eat healthy or do they like junk food?

It’s kind of a mixture of both. He’ll eat junk because it’s more readily available quite a bit, but he can only go so long with eating just junk food, maybe a couple days, before he actually out and outright needs something better for him. Some food can be filling and a full meal, like pizza or fried chicken, so it’s not so much that he won’t be getting his calorie count in. It’s just that after eating nothing but junk for a bit, he notices his body just doesn’t feel right and he won’t have as much energy as he needs to, not to mention that his stomach is…irritable, to say the least. He’ll start craving healthier foods and he’ll make it more of a point to eat a bit healthier for a week or two, just to get his body back to feeling right.

Tea or coffee? How do they take theirs?

Shouhei will honestly drink both. He likes both fairly equally; it’s really not a one or the other situation to him. He drinks his tea plain and prefers it cold to hot but he does need to sweeten his coffee, but only a little, maybe half a cube of sugar at most, and he does use milk in it, until it’s more light than dark.

Favourite song?

Not so much favourite song in particular, but I feel that while Akagi’s tastes in music are pretty varied, he does prefer more upbeat music. Anything that makes him feel like moving is pretty up his alley. I think he goes for rock more often but has no problem with more poppy music and definitely has at least one idol or idol group that he’s a fan of.

Have they ever killed someone?

While he does have no issues with resorting to violence, and he has probably sent people to the hospital, Shouhei has never killed someone. He has no desire too. Beating a person up until they need medical attention is one thing, but I don’t think he could stomach outright killing anyone.

Saburota Bando

Favourite meal?

I feel like Bando really eats a lot of cup noodles and, other than that, he really likes street food. Okonomiyaki is one of his favourites.

Usual outfit?

Most of his clothing is very casual and, even when the weather is warm, it always includes a hoodie and his trademark sunglasses (and I strongly headcanon that those are prescription and expensive and he’s always a little annoyed when they get broken because, like, those things cost money and he does not have money so…).

What does their living space look like?

It’s…sparse, honestly. I don’t think he decorates a lot, and his living space is very minimalistic looking. It’s always just a little messy. Not a mess; Bando is generally pretty clean. Just always a little messy, with a dish or two still sitting where he left them or papers just kind of strewn about in a small area from where he’d last been using them.

Do they like hot or cold showers?

It depends on a lot. I’d say about 90% of the time, he likes hot showers. Not to the ‘scorch your skin off’ degree, but definitely warm. But if it’s really hot and muggy out and he’s sweating his ass off, there’s nothing quite like a cold shower. And when Bando can’t sleep for whatever reason, a cold shower followed by warm milk with cinnamon and honey and crawling under enough layers of blankets to make him really toasty warm…it’s almost always guaranteed to get him to sleep within ten to twenty minutes of getting into bed.

Sleeping position?

I feel like he falls asleep on his back most of the time, one arm over his eyes and the other slightly to the side. The way he wakes up though?? Definitely not in that same position, nowhere near it, and, for a guy who isn’t flexible, you wonder how he ended up in those positions.

Yo Chitose

Have they ever broken the law?

Chitose wouldn’t outright answer this question ever, but he is a part of HOMRA, with all that entails so I feel the answer is pretty clearly obvious.

Are they athletic?

Yes. Chitose is actually really athletic naturally and he’d be good at a lot of sports. It’s just that they’re not his thing. Maybe back when he was younger…he might even have been on a couple of teams. Always was one of the first five in races. But he just doesn’t really care about any sports too much anymore. He’s not that motivated to be really athletic, and his smoking habit is costing him some of his quickness, but he’s still one of the more athletic members of HOMRA.

Favourite type of flower?

I feel like, both for the meaning behind the flower, which he once learned from a previous lover, and for how they look, he likes cyclamen’s the best.

Do they play any instruments?

I honestly don’t see him as having played any instruments, other than the ones that might have been required for a school glass and even then, he didn’t play them well. Though he works hard and definitely could learn to play an instrument, he just doesn’t have a musical ear and doesn’t understand the finer points of rhythm and tempo, keeping time, different pitches because it all kind of sounds the same to him.

Artistic ability?

Chitose’s fairly middle of the road when it comes to artistic ability. He’s not laughably horrible at it like some other members of K that will remain unnamed (mostly because it’s the King – Mikoto’s drawings look like something someone’s toddler aged kid drew them). But he’s not absolutely fantastic at it and he really doesn’t have much of an enthusiasm for it. He’s never motivated to go and learn to improve his artistic abilities or to sit down and seriously draw something.

Masaomi Dewa

Have they ever gotten seriously ill?

Masaomi is missing organs. He has neither his tonsils nor his appendix. He had frequent bouts of tonsilitis as a young child, to the point the doctors just removed his tonsils and he had to have emergency surgery as a preteen for a bad case of appendicitis. Other than that, though, Masaomi is pretty healthy and after those two things, he hasn’t been seriously ill since.

Do they like sleeping in or waking up early?

He’s an early bird by nature and he does tend to wake up early. Given the people he hangs out with though and how late he’s normally up, even with consistently waking up early, he tends to fall back asleep pretty quickly after that initial wake-up and sleeps in a bit more. He’s normally up by nine in the morning at the latest though because his internal clock just doesn’t let him sleep too far past that.

The longest they’ve ever been awake?

I feel like Dewa’s not the type to stay awake. He likes sleep; he recognizes the importance of sleep. He doesn’t tend to stay awake for days at a time or anything. He might have pulled an all-nighter once or twice in his life but normally, he makes sure he sleeps every day, even if it’s just crashing out for an hour or two.

Random detail about them.

His father wears hats too and it’s part of what got Dewa into them. His father does it though because male pattern baldness runs in Dewa’s family and, by the time they’re hitting their forties, most of the men in his family are starting to thin and bald.

Something other’s do that gets on their nerves?

Okay, but it’s canon and everyone knows how much Masaomi loves spicy foods. He can handle food that is ‘too hot’ for most other people he knows and he frequents restaurants that serve spicy dishes. And it always pisses him off whenever he sees people at those restaurants bragging about the level of spice they can handle and arguing with the servers who try to warn customers about really hot dishes. Because most of the time, those same customers can’t handle dishes that hot and then get pissy at the servers and demand a different meal on the house.

Eric Solt

Do they drink or do drugs?

I feel like Eric might drink, but he doesn’t drink heavily. He’s more the type to nurse one or two drinks throughout the night because he gets drunk really quick and just doesn’t really like the taste of most liquor either.

As a kid, what were they like?

Eric’s past is…heart-breaking, honestly. Canonically, he just had a horrible, abusive childhood for the most part, after his parent’s died. Because of that, he became withdrawn, quiet, a little scared all the time. He was jumpy, irritable when he did talk, but mostly he just tried to stay out of the way.

Do they have a sweet tooth?

He actually does. He wasn’t given much in the way of sweets after his parents’ deaths, but he remembers getting sweets a lot as a child when his parents were still around, mostly because his mother had a huge sweet tooth of her own. So sweet things do bring up painful, but still sweet and nice, memories of his parents and honestly, they just taste really yummy.

How old are they?

I had to go look this one up because it’s been a while but canonically, he’s 18. I hadn’t really thought about how he’s one of the younger members of HOMRA!

Can they sing?

It’s not whether or not he can sing. I honestly think he has a quavery, but pleasant, singing voice. It’s that Eric doesn’t like to sing. He’ll never be a person to make a lot of noise and he also has a hard time remembering song lyrics so singing just isn’t something he does.

Kousuke Fujishima

What makes them feel better after a long day?

Kousuke actually has a lot of things that perk him up after a long day. He’s pretty easy to please and he does always try hard to see the positive side of things. His friends, the fellow members of HOMRA, are a guaranteed way to make him feel better. His family does the same thing, as do animals of any kind. If his day’s been really, really bad and he needs a heavy dose of ‘pick-me-up’ energy, he’s heading to a cat café to play with all the cute cats, or he’ll go feed the strays at a spot he knows they always go to.

Parents?

Yep, he has those. No, but seriously, both of Fujishima’s parents are still alive. They’re happily married and have been for years. I don’t feel like he’s an only child, but I do headcanon him as either the oldest or middle child in his family, definitely not the youngest. He’s got a fairly solid relationship with his parents and gets along with them. He doesn’t cause a lot of trouble for them, and they don’t really get after him about too much, other than getting upset at all the strays he keeps trying to bring home.

Favourite snack?

I think Fujishima prefers chips. He likes a lot of them, but goes most often for soy sauce mayo or seaweed salt Calbee chips.

What are they afraid of?

Shipwrecks. He’s not afraid of the water so much but there’s just something about shipwrecks that he finds eerie and unsettling and that just shoot a bit of a chill down his spine. He also wouldn’t be too crazy about the idea of spending any amount of time on a larger boat either, or any boat too far out into the waters. If he can’t see the shoreline, he’s too far into the water.

why is sanzang often a woman in japanese media? even dbz bulma is his female counterpart.

I can’t say for sure why this all began but I can say that it was most likely because of the first popular Japanese version to do it.

Monkey Magic (1978) also known as Saiyuki isn’t the first Japanese Xiyouji content but it was definitely one of the most influential since many Japanese media followed its example and had Sanzang be a woman. Most of this is parodies of the show, directly influencing it, or rather having Sanzang be the token girl in their product.

Before the TV series was produced, the director planned to turn it into a movie and have it in a kabuki style. He wanted Tamasaburo Bando to play the role of Tang Monk (Sun Wukong is Wakayama Tomisaburo, Zhu Bajie is foreign sumo wrestler Takamiyama Daigoro, and Sha Monk is Nakadai Tatsuya), But they couldn't reach an agreement and didn't hire him. Later, they re-planned the cast and boldly hired women. After using Natsume Masako, the response was surprisingly great. Later versions of Tang Monk were all played by female actors as well.

Some viewers may think that Tang Monk in the play is a woman because of Natsume Masako. But the intention of the show is that it the actress was playing a male role. Later Japanese remakes also used this setting casting the actor of Master Tripitaka as female. The first episode of Journey to the West was broadcast on Japan Television from October 1, 1978 to April 1, 1979, with a total of 26 episodes. Because the series is very popular in Japan, The Japan Television Bureau produced and broadcast 26 episodes of "Journey to the West II" from November 11, 1979 to May 4, 1980.

On the other hand, in China, in case of making Master Tripitaka a girl, others commented that it was tampering with the original work. certainly, In this work, Master Tripitaka was not set as a female; it's just because the actress played a male role, so it's a misunderstanding.

I can’t say for certain why they made Sanzang a girl in the 1970s but the best I can say is that it could follow that more Japanese humor of having a “damsel in distress” tv trope since that was pretty common around that era. It could be that the producers were trying to have that angle of showing Sanzang as a younger boy since women did play male youth often enough in older films, it certainly wasn't unheard of. And that only later adaptions tried to go for a romance angle considering that there are no real female leads and it was highly doubtful they would have a male romance. I haven’t watched the show myself so I can’t be 100% certain just based on what clips I have seen.

But needless to say, it’s because of that version we see so many girl Sanzangs in Japanese media, and I honestly don’t know if maybe another version down the line could’ve done the same gender swap and be just as influential or not.

Eh insomma... come state per vedere, quest'anno non è andata granché. Per quanto concerne i drama, è stato un anno di crisi (da cui forse ora ne sto uscendo). 1) Il drama più bello che hai visto: Daily Dose of Sunshine

Risposta un po' difficile, perché quest'anno manca il drama che ti ruba il cuore (l'anno scorso fu Go Ahead, anche se fu una scelta difficile perché avevo ben 4 eccellenze tra cui scegliere). E' vero che ci sono diversi drama belli e che ho apprezzato un sacco (più che altro nel periodo pre-crisi), ma nessuno che spicca in mezzo agli altri. Alla fine, a sorpresa, ho deciso di premiare il penultimo drama che ho completato (perché sancisce anche un po' l'inizio, forse, della ripresa). Molto brevemente, Daily Dose of Sunshine parla di un'infermiera molto empatica e gentile che inizia a lavorare nel reparto psichiatrico di un ospedale. Sembra una storia banale, ma non è così, è il come viene raccontato il tutto a renderla speciale. Perché non solo è un drama oggettivamente molto bello, ma di cui ho apprezzato la tematica trattata (la sanità mentale in varie forme) e che mi ha coinvolto al punto da farmi spargere lacrime diverse volte, cosa non facile non essendo un drama nemmeno particolarmente drammatico (non come per esempio Tomorrow o Move To Heaven, per citarne un paio). In Daily Dose of Sunshine ho trovato ottima la recitazione (molto brava Park Bo Young, il ruolo le è calzato a pennello), mi sono piaciuti i personaggi e le loro storie, e dove hanno condotto. In linea generale, ho apprezzato un po' tutto, l'unica cosa un po' blanda e che mi ha lasciato perlopiù indifferente è stata la coppia principale. Non era fatta male, ma non mi ha colpito particolarmente. Mancanza di chimica, forse? Ho trovato ottimo che non si sia allungato il brodo, infatti hanno chiuso in soli 12 episodi. Anzi, a dirvela tutta, quasi quasi avrei preferito che fossero 16.

2) La storia d'amore che ti ha conquistato di più: My Lovely Liar

Ho un ricordo un po' altalenante di questo drama, penso che se l'avessi visto in un altro momento lo avrei apprezzato di più, però... mi è rimasta impressa una scena che mi ha portato a scegliere la storia d'amore dei due lead come vincitrice di questa categoria, cioè la madre del lead che lo osserva da lontano a una fiera a cui sta partecipando insieme alla lead. Lui, che per tanto tempo si è nascosto dagli altri soffrendo terribilmente per quello che gli era accaduto anni prima, ora ride contento, alla luce del sole. Ma non è solo questo. In questo drama, la protagonista riusciva a captare quando le veniva detta una bugia, e quindi mi piaceva che lui non le mentisse mai (anche prima di scoprire questa cosa), e anche quella volta in cui lui diceva la verità ma suonava come bugia, lei, che per tutta la vita si era sempre fidata del proprio infallibile potere, ha lo stesso deciso di fidarsi e di aiutarlo a scoprire la verità sul passato di lui. Sono stati una buona coppia, per tanti motivi, direi che si meritano questo premio.

3) Il drama che ti è piaciuto di meno: Between Us

Between Us è lo spin-off di Until We Meet Again e ci sono voluti 3 anni perché uscisse. Okay, c'è stato il covid (tipo subito dopo che è finito Until We Meet Again), ma il problema non è l'attesa, è cosa ci hanno fatto con quest'attesa. La risposta è semplice: niente. Non l'hanno sfruttata affatto. La Thailandia dal 2019 si è evoluta con i BL, di parecchio. Un drama accettabile nel 2019, ora viene scalzato da quelli che sono andati avanti e sono migliorati in tutti i fronti. Inoltre, benché a me Boun e Prem non piacciano come attori (non tiratemi le pietre), ammetto che sono migliorati in tre anni in termine di recitazione (e vorrei ben vedere!), ma posso dire di aver visto molto di meglio? Il problema principale, comunque, è un altro: ma che NOIA è questo spin-off!? Ho aspettato tre anni per poi annoiarmi a morte! Peccato, perché questo drama poteva essere la rivalsa di questa povera coppia, la WinTeam, che era già stata bistrattata nella serie principale (sì, perché erano stati usati sostanzialmente come promozione per qualche prodotto dello sponsor, tipo il sacchetto di patatine). E invece no. Era meglio rimanere nell'ignoranza, quando ancora attendavamo invano questa serie chiedendoci come sarebbe stata. A volte il viaggio è migliore dell'arrivo.

4) Una serie che meriterebbe un sequel: The Glory

Personalmente non sono tanto a favore dei sequel (vale per tutto, non solo per i drama), anche perché in linea di massima, soprattutto se non sono previsti, tendono a rovinare il materiale di partenza. La vendetta della lead di The Glory si è conclusa e sono contenta così, con il finale che ci hanno dato, però... [SPOILER FINE SERIE], io la vendetta del lead la vedrei eccome! Non pretenderei una serie lunga, magari anche solo 8 episodi (oppure un film!), però mi piacerebbe assistere al suo trionfo, vedere come gli insegnamenti della lead abbiano dato i suoi frutti, e come questa volta sia lei l'aiutante anziché l'aiutata. Sarebbe interessante! [FINE SPOILER].

5) Il personaggio preferito: My Love From The Star

Ho deciso di premiare, una volta tanto, un second lead, precisamente quello di My Love From The Star. Se lo merita, in particolare perché farsi apprezzare da me nonostante sia un second lead non è cosa facile (di solito li trovo o insopportabili, oppure fatti con lo stampino per farti provare pietà per loro). Inoltre, Lee Hui Kyung ha il merito di avere anche una bella evoluzione, infatti non mi è piaciuto fin da subito. Dopo un inizio un po'... pesante, si è ripreso alla grande. E' stato innamorato e non ricambiato dalla lead per quasi metà della sua vita e non voleva rassegnarsi, cosa che trovavo assolutamente insopportabile, ma poi questo personaggio mi ha piacevolmente sorpresa e infine conquistata. Perché se da una parte c'era il lead con lo spessore della carta velina e il carisma di un topo, Lee Hui Kyung era un bravo personaggio, intelligente e sincero nei suoi sentimenti. Tra l'altro, [PICCOLO SPOILER ANCHE SE STA COSA SI SCOPRE TIPO SUBITO] non è facile accettare che il proprio fratello sia un killer psicopatico e darsi pure da fare per provarlo![FINE SPOILER] Se tutti i second lead fossero così, magari pure io inizierei a soffrire della famosa sindrome a loro dedicata.

Bonus: L'infermiere di Daily Dose of Sunshine. Ho adorato questo personaggio che era sempre pronto a farsi in quattro per i suoi colleghi e per i pazienti del reparto. Era una spalla amica e di supporto.

6) Il personaggio più odiato: Kairos

In questo drama, ho odiato tanto, ma proprio tanto, la moglie del lead, aka un ghiacciolo sarebbe più caldo. [SPOILER COME SE PIOVESSE] Questa terribile donna ha organizzato un finto rapimento/omicidio della figlia piccola+finto suicidio per puro e semplice egoismo. Lei e il lead avevano problemi matrimoniali e anziché lasciarlo e chiedere il divorzio come una persona normale, ha preferito mettere su questo teatrino e far credere a un poveraccio di aver perso tragicamente due membri della propria famiglia. Tra l'altro, se la lead non gli avesse telefonato al momento giusto, Mrs Ghiacciolo sarebbe stata responsabile della sua morte, visto che lui era pronto a suicidarsi per la troppa disperazione. E alla moglie gliene frega qualcosa di aver distrutto psicologicamente il padre di sua figlia? Certo che no, per lei conta solo se stessa. E quando la figlia chiede giustamente del padre a cui vuole bene? Lei tergiversa. Il punto più alto è stato quando ha detto all'amante (e suo complice) che la figlia sarebbe stata felice finché lei stessa era felice. Il massimo dell'egoismo e dell'egocentrismo.[FINE SPOILER]

Bonus: The Good Bad Mother. Hanno tentato ripetutamente di cercare di farmi provare empatia per la madre del titolo, ma senza successo. Per carità, bellissimo personaggio, ma l'ho odiata e non l'ho mai perdonata.

7) Una ship che proprio non ti è piaciuta: PS I Hate You

E' una risposta un po' borderline probabilmente, però non mi è venuto niente di meglio. La cosa strana, è che Meen e Pitch non sembrano una brutta ship visti da fuori, però Pitch manda dei brutti segnali fin dal primo episodio. Segui questo personaggio che pare tanto un bravo ragazzo innamorato di Meen e percepisci che ha qualcosa che non va, ma non sai cosa, anzi, pensi pure che sia una tua impressione. Nel mentre, la coppia cresce e si avvicina, la ship prospera e con essa la brutta sensazione, che ti segue, indimenticata. Poi arrivi alla fine, la sensazione negativa ti ha messo con le spalle al muro ed è finalmente pronta a svelarti che... [SPOILER FINALE]... che il caro Pitch è un dannato psicopatico e che Meen non solo se l'è sposato, ma i due hanno pure figliato.[FINE SPOILER]. Non so perché la risposta di questa domanda sia diventata una specie di racconto horror...

8) Il finale più bello: PS I Hate You

Sì, di nuovo loro, ma in positivo questa volta, perché sinceramente questo drama ha un finale perfetto. Ogni personaggio ha esattamente quello che si merita, nel bene e nel male. Causa ed effetto. PS I Hate You non è un drama rose e fiori, è popolato da personaggi che prendono un sacco di decisioni pessime e che sono uno peggio dell'altro, pertanto anche il suo finale è spietato, ma benché a me i finali felici piacciano molto, ho trovato molto catartico questo finale e pertanto si merita la vittoria.

9) Un attore e un attrice che ti sono piaciuti tantissimo: The Good Bad Mother e Moonlight Chicken/Only Friends

Attrice: Ra Mi Ran, aka la mamma di The Good Bad Mother. L'ho trovato bravissima nel suo ruolo, mi ha fatto provare un sacco di sentimenti contrastanti per il suo personaggio. Mi dispiaceva per lei, ma allo stesso tempo la odiavo, poi provavo compassione, e il secondo dopo di nuovo una rabbia profonda. Ha reso il suo personaggio a tutto tondo, difficile da amare e da odiare completamente allo stesso tempo.

Attore: Khaotung per i suoi ruolo di Gaipa in Moonlight Chicken e Ray in Only Friends, ma soprattutto il primo perché ci sono due scene in particolare che mi sono rimaste impresse nella retina. [ATTENZIONE, SPOILER!] La prima è quando Gaipa si dichiara e viene rifiutato da Jim, le emozioni che in quel momento sono passate sul volto di Khaotung sono state un colpo, il suo dispiacere era veramente palpabile, così come il suo modo di cercare di minimizzare la cosa. La seconda scena, ancora più intensa, è quando canta al funerale della madre. Disperazione pura. In generale, ottima l'interpretazione in entrambe le serie.

10) la morte di un personaggio che ancora non hai superato: All of Us Are Dead

Il titolo magari un minimo lo suggerisce, ma questo drama non è esattamente una passeggiata di salute. D'altronde, cosa ci si può aspettare da un'epidemia zombie scoppiata all'improvviso in un liceo che poi si diffonde a macchia d'olio in tutta la città? E il problema è... che non ho solo un personaggio da citare per questa domanda, ne ho più di uno! Anzi, faccio quasi prima a dire chi è sopravvissuto! Citiamo i morti che mi hanno ferito di più (SPOILER, è OVVIO!)... per esempio il padre della protagonista, che ha fatto carte false per raggiungere la figlia. Riesce a riabbracciarla un'ultima volta, ma ormai è già stato contagiato dal virus e quindi si sacrifica per farla scappare illesa. Il lead! Morto anche lui poco dopo essere stato morso dopo essersi sacrificato per gli altri e aver affrontato quel bastardo del villain (in realtà, non è sicuro al 100% che sia morto, potrebbe essere solo stato sepolto dai detriti, io ancora ci spero!). L'amico del lead! Morto male perché quella maledetta ragazzina ha pensato bene di infettarlo apposta! E, infine, altro ragazzo che si è sacrificato mentre cercavano di scappare perché si era reso conto di essere stato morso ed era quindi spacciato già in partenza. Mi fermo qui, è meglio.

11) La OST che ti è piaciuta di più: Shining for One Thing

Questo drama aveva veramente delle ost bellissime. In particolare alcune, nelle scene tragiche, erano perfette per quei momenti (per farti stare peggio!), con un testo davvero appropriato a quello che veniva rappresentato sullo schermo. La mia preferita: Cold.

Bonus: Only Friends Opening (che bravo Khaotung con quest'opening. Ce l'ho fissa su spotify da quando ho visto questo drama).

12) L'attore e attrice peggiori: Perfect Marriage Revenge

Attore: Oh Seung Yun di Perfect Marriage Revenge, aka il marito nel primo universo e successivamente ex fidanzato della lead quando lei torna nel passato. Onestamente, ho trovato la sua interpretazione troppo caricata, al punto che le sue espressione basite (e questo personaggio è moooolto spesso basito in questo drama) erano così esagerate che non riuscivo a prendere per niente sul serio questo personaggio. Non ha aiutato, e mi dispiace dirlo, che abbia un viso troppo alla baby face. Ha 32 anni e ne dimostra 20 a dir tanto. Confrontandolo con il lead (interpretato da Sung Hoon che di anni ne ha ben 40 benché portati bene), c'è troppa disparità!

Salterò invece la nomination dell'attrice peggiore. Sinceramente non ho trovato nessuna da citare.

13) Una serie che merita più conoscenza: Kairos

Di solito, quando un drama non ha il lato romantico e verte su altre tematiche, tende a venire perlopiù ignorata dalla massa. Penso che questo sia il caso di Kairos, che è una serie che mi tenuto incollata nei primi mesi di quest'anno. Serie che ho apprezzato moltissimo e che tocca la tematica degli spazi temporali in chiave poliziesca con un po' di politica e corruzione. Abbiamo due persone legate da una telefonata che per un minuto al giorno li connette nonostante li separino alcuni mesi, infatti vivono sue due linee temporali diverse. Grazie a questa connessione, possono aiutarsi a vicenda. Drama bello e appassionante che merita sicuramente una chance!

14) Il momento che ti ha fatto saltare sulla sedia: The Glory parte 1 e 2

C'è una scena che ho trovato particolarmente scioccante sia in senso buono sia in senso negativo. [SPOILER] Nel corso della prima parte del drama, un personaggio scompare improvvisamente e viene un po' lasciato a intendere che sia morto. Nella seconda parte, si scopre che sì, questo personaggio è effettivamente morto, ma è il come, la parte scioccante! Cioè, non tanto che sia stata la cattiva della storia a colpirlo ben due volte, ma che lui dopo fosse ancora vivo e che se non si fosse comportato come feccia con le donne, magari la ragazza del negozio avrebbe chiamato un'ambulanza anziché dargli il colpo di grazia. Beh, si raccoglie quello che si semina...

15) Il protagonista maschile preferito: Revenge of Others

A parte l'essere probabilmente il personaggio più sfigato nella storia dei drama (no, seriamente! Al primo episodio si scopre che ha una malattia terminale, poi ha un fratello morto suicida, del padre non si sa nulla, ha anche una madre malata, viene malmenato per tutta la stagione, sospettato di omicidio, rapito, torturato...), Ji Soo Heon era proprio un bel personaggio. Aveva una forza d'animo fuori dal comune visto che nonostante la sua sfiga costantemente presente, ha comunque trovato la forza di volontà di prendere in mano la situazione e mettersi a vendicarsi dei bulli della sua scuola e aiutare la lead a scoprire la verità sulla morte del fratello (e pure instaurare una relazione con lei, complimenti!). Un ragazzo veramente forte che per tutto il drama mi ha fatto preoccupare e dispiacere per lui per tutte le disgrazie che gli capitavano e per come affrontava la situazione nonostante gli alti (pochi) e i bassi (molti). Una visitina a Lourdes al posto suo me la farei, comunque... [Tra l'altro, ho iniziato questo drama totalmente inconsapevole, perché tra i tag su MyDramaList non c'è "terminal illness" e mi è preso un colpo quando il dottore dà la diagnosi al protagonista nel primo episodio, ma ormai ero intrippata e mi ero già affezionata a lui quindi ho proseguito, e alla fine ne è valsa la pena].

16) La storia d'amore che non ti è piaciuta: Only Friends

Mi è piaciuta la serie e l'ho seguita con piacere di settimana in settimana, però tra le varie coppie della serie sapevo che ce n'era una che con me non avrebbe funzionato, cioè Top e Mew. Fin dal principio sapevo che non avrei mai potuto shipparli perché già il trailer ti spoilera che ci sarà un tradimento e quello è un big no. Poi la serie è iniziata e, tradimento a parte, ci sono state altre cose che non ho apprezzato particolarmente, per esempio che Mew usasse il sesso (o meglio, la sua mancanza) per manipolare emotivamente Top. Poi, quando la loro relazione è fiorita, è saltato fuori il tradimento, quindi pensavo che almeno mi sarei goduta la soddisfazione di vedere Top strisciare per cercare di riconquistare la fiducia di Mew, ma ero troppo impegnata ad assistere a Mew che si rovinava con le sue mani. Tutto ciò non è durato moltissimo, per fortuna, ma poi è arrivato Boeing (che vediamo dopo, in un'altra categoria). In conclusione, tra le tre coppie principali, questa era quella che decisamente mi è interessata di meno e che in generale non ho apprezzato come si sia sviluppata.

17) Miglior bacio: Only Friends

Ma cosa potevo scegliere se non bacio post-discussione misto a disperazione? L'unico problema di questo bacio SandRay è quel rompiscatole di Top che arriva e li interrompe. Potevi tornare dopo 30 minuti! Comunque... è una bella scena, mi è piaciuta veramente moltissimo. C'è una tale intensità che fa battere il cuore al telespettatore e sia First sia Khaotung avevano delle espressioni che esternavano alla perfezione quello che stavano pensando e provando Sand e Ray in quella scena.

18) Il drama che hai fatto fatica a finire: King The Land

Mi scuso con chi ha amato questo drama, ma quando l'ho visto ero in crisi nera e quindi sceglievo volutamente drama poco impegnativi... e temo che questo sia stato un grave errore, infatti perdevo interesse dopo pochi episodi e quelli rimanenti li vede con un occhio aperto e l'altro no. Ed è già stato tanto, altri drama li ho proprio mollati a prescindere. *indica la lista in alto* In retrospettiva, non penso che King The Land fosse un brutto drama per il suo genere, ma l'ho visto nel momento sbagliato e durante la seconda metà ho finito per perdere completamente l'interesse e l'ho finito con svogliatezza.

19) Scena d'azione migliore: All Of Us Are Dead

Ho trovato assolutamente pazzesca e ben fatta la scena in cui Lee Chung San (il nostro lead) è nella biblioteca della scuola e cerca di sfuggire agli zombie e al villain umano. Quella scena è così intensa che credo che a un certo punto mi si sia fermato il cuore per la troppa tensione. Mi ha lasciato senza parole e mi ha galvanizzato un sacco.

20) Miglior Villain: The Glory

A onor del vero, i villain di The Glory sono più di uno, visto che sarebbero i bulli che hanno tormentato la protagonista ai tempi del liceo e i quali verso cui lei vuole vendicarsi. E ognuno di loro, a modo suo, è un buon villain di questo drama, ma il capo può essere uno solo e in questo caso è Park Yeon Jin, la bulla che ha dato il tormento alla nostra lead, quindi è su di lei che ci concentreremo. Ricca, bella, snob e dannatamente crudele, Yeon Jin sa benissimo cosa vuole e riesce pure a ottenerlo (finché qualcuno non ci mette lo zampino), e chissene se nella sua vita, nel mentre, ha calpestato le persone che riteneva inferiori torturandole senza pietà. Ma a renderlo un personaggio e un villain interessante è che Yeon Jin non sia solo una persona crudele a cui non importa di ferire pesantemente gli altri per soddisfare i suoi scopi, ma il fatto che ci siano persone e cose a cui tiene anche lei, la sua "cerchia ristretta", chiamiamola così. La figlia in primis, a cui tiene immensamente. E proprio questo suo non essere solo cattiva perché sì, ma nemmeno l'ennesimo cattivo con infiniti traumi, ad averla resa un bel villain. Uno che comunque ho adorato veder precipitare come tutti gli altri.

21) Il finale peggiore: My Love From The Star

Quando un drama aveva troppo successo, capitava qualche anno fa che gli aggiungessero qualche episodio. A volte aveva senso, ma nella maggior parte dei casi si trattava solo di allungare il brodo a dismisura. Questo è il caso di My Love From The Star. Gli ultimi episodi sono un ripetersi ciclico delle stesse storyline che hanno reso la visione stancante, finendo poi per condurci a un episodio finale moscio che avrebbe potuto essere risolto in metà tempo. Finale, comunque, agrodolce (e a tratti un po' a caso) che ho trovato molto deludente, infatti non aggiunge nulla di nuovo a quanto visto in precedenza.

Bonus: Shining For One Thing, che voglio citare perché ha un finale aperto (e anche no, grazie!), ma che in realtà è un drama da "rimandare a settembre" perché dovrebbe essere disponibile a breve il film che continuerà e concluderà la storia (spero in modo decente).

22) La protagonista femminile preferita: Daily Dose of Sunshine

Non ho apprezzato solo l'interpretazione dell'attrice, anche il personaggio femminile protagonista di questo drama mi ha colpito in senso positivo. Jung Da Eun è un personaggio estremamente dolce nel modo di rapportarsi (trasmetteva calma) ed empatico, il suo lavorare in campo medico era senz'altro la cosa migliore per lei. E pure se non aveva scelto di lavorare in un reparto psichiatrico di per sé (vi era stata mandata perché non apprezzata dai suoi precedenti idioti colleghi), è finita nel posto giusto, e mi piace come abbia iniziato ben presto ad apprezzarlo ed essere lei stessa apprezzata come infermiera. Mi è piaciuto anche il suo momento di crisi, il modo in cui la morte di un altro personaggio l'abbia ferita al punto da stare male anche lei. Da Eun non era più solo l'infermiera gentile che pazienti, colleghi e il lead apprezzavano, ma un essere umano che stava soffrendo e aveva bisogno di aiuto per rialzarsi. Tra l'altro, è un tipo di personaggio raro da trovare in un kdrama, sono più abituata a personaggi femminili molto esagitati e che gridano, ma lei per la maggior del tempo parlava a un tono di voce quasi basso, è stato rilassante seguire il suo percorso.

23) La scena o frase che ti è rimasta impressa: Doctor Cha

La scena che voglio citare e premiare di questo drama riguarda il marito fedifrago della nostra Doctor Cha che, scoperto che la moglie è stata rifiutata dall'ospedale in cui lavorano lui e la sua amante, si mette a suonare la tastiera del pc come un pianoforte e a ballare per festeggiare. Oltre a rimanermi in testa, mi ha fatto provare emozioni contrastanti. Da una parte volevo ridere perché l'attore è bravissimo e la scena è oggettivamente divertente, ma dall'altra volevo tirargli qualcosa in testa perché se ne frega del fatto che la moglie soffra per essere stata rifiutata e pensa solo a sé stesso e ai suoi interessi.

24) Il villain peggiore: Only Friends

Andava tutto bene, poi un giorno arrivò Boeing. Per quanto possa dargli il credito di essersi limonato praticamente tutto il cast maschile (complimenti, hai realizzato il sogno di molta gente), quest'uomo è spuntato solo per portare scompiglio a tutte le coppie, ma senza un senso logico. In pratica, sembrava quasi aver inventato un nuovo sport: provarle tutte, magari una gli andava bene. Arriva, prova a riprendersi Top; non funziona, quindi prova invece a sedurre il suo fidanzato (erano pure in crisi), cioè Mew. Piano fallito, quindi passa ai SandRay, cercando di riprendersi Sand dopo averlo lasciato pre-serie per Top. Fallito pure questo piano (figurati se Ray te la faceva fare franca!), ha concluso in bellezza limonandosi Boston in discoteca! In un certo senso, almeno il suo ultimo piano malefico (in modo del tutto involontario) ha funzionato! Bravo, ma preferisco villain con un senso.

25) Una bromance spettacolare: The Good Bad Mother

Mi è piaciuto un sacco il fatto che il lead e il suo rivale in amore (chiamiamolo così anche se non ha mai avuto nemmeno mezza chance), il cui rapporto era decisamente di inimicizia nel passato, si sia trasformato in amicizia vera una volta che il nostro lead ha perso la memoria a inizio serie e poi anche dopo averla ritrovata. Indimenticabile Bang Sam Sik che si fa proteggere dal nostro Choi Kang Ho tornato in modalità procuratore quando vanno dagli strozzini e gli si aggrappa alla gamba che manco Lan Yuan con Lan Zhan in The Untamed. Scena divertentissima.

Incredibilmente, visto l'anno trascorso, ci sono riuscita! Per fortuna era una sfida facile. Cdrama storico o wuxia: Love Between Fairy and Devil: Bel drama a tratti divertente e a tratti molto drammatico, in cui Dylan Wang è stato strepitoso!

Drama tratto da libro/novel/manga/webcomic: Mitaraike, Enjou Suru (jdrama tratto da un manga): Ho citato questo drama per variare un po' visto che ancora non l'avevo nominato, ma onestamente ne avrei potuti citare almeno la metà del mio listone. Drama giapponese con una componente misteriosa che apprezzo sempre, inoltre è molto breve, appena 8 episodi.

Drama che ha vinto almeno un premio: Sweet Home (kdrama): Questo drama di cui è da poco uscita la seconda stagione (che è partita bene e poi si è persa perché gli autori devono essersi fumati qualcosa di sbagliato quando hanno pensato che potesse interessarci una stagione in cui il protagonista non compare per metà degli episodi e che abbia una storyline enorme che comprende i militari e personaggi di cui non ci frega un accidente) ha vinto parecchi premi, tra cui "Miglior attore di supporto" a Lee Do Hyun (<3), "Miglior regia", "Personaggio dell'anno", "Miglior nuova attrice", ecc...

La sfida di quest'anno è di vedersi un drama/film co-prodotto o con attori (principali) di due o più paesi, entro la fine del 2024. Dite che è fattibile? XD

"SIN MIEDO" - JPEGMAFIA

For the last JPEGMAFIA single, I wrote a long-winded diatribe about how irritated I was with his ongoing antics - I don't feel like doing that for "SIN MIEDO" too. I'm not absolutely in love with this track, but there are some good ideas here. For one, the beat is unreal. He sits comfortably in the upper echelon of experimental hip hop producers. I'm not crazy about Peggy's lyricism on these new singles though, it just feels way too generic for him. Like he's playing into his hallmarks rather than pushing himself further. Anyway, I do like this song! It seems like there's a new album of his on the way so maybe these songs will hit harder in the grand scheme of things, but for now they're just decent.

"HOODLUMZ" - Denzel Curry feat. PlayThatBoiZay & A$AP Rocky

Denzel Curry's new album drops this week and this single "HOODLUMZ" dropped a few days prior. This is another solid cut. Curry seems to be getting back in touch with his roots on this project and he sounds reinvigorated. Not that he ever "fell off" per say, but he just sounds so energized here. PlayThatBoiZay and A$AP Rocky also offer good verses here. Looking forward to listening to and reviewing the full album!

"I Am Dog Now" - Chat Pile

After bursting onto the scene with their 2022 album God's Country, The Flenser's Chat Pile are gearing up for the follow-up. "I Am Dog Now" is the lead single for their new album Cool World releasing this October. The pieces from the last album are all hear, but everything sounds more claustrophobic. There were moments on God's Country you could seek shelter from, but "I Am Dog Now" offers no such respite. It cranks up the intensity a lot, it's really cool. I'm curious to hear if that's the case for the rest of the album. This is a good single and I'm really looking forward to this new record.

"Satellite Business 2.0" - Sampha feat. Little Simz

🥇 BEST SONG OF THE MONTH

Oh, boy. Sampha's masterful sophomore album Lahai was one of my favorite albums from last year and it's only grown on me ever since. Hearing he was going to be releasing this new version of the 1-and-a-half minute "Satellite Business" with Little Simz got me incredibly excited. This is as great as I thought it would be, perhaps even greater. Two of the brightest artists of today firing on all cylinders together. For starters, the production here is immaculate, it sounds otherworldly. Sampha's verses have this funky-ness to them, they just have a strong groove. This isn't one of the Sampha songs you sink into and relax to, this is a banger. The verse from Simz is incredible too, further proof that she's one of the most unique rappers currently active. This is amazing. Please go out of your way to listen to "Satellite Business 2.0." One of the best songs you will hear all year, trust me.

"In the Night" - Childish Gambino feat. Jorja Smith & Amaaerae

The second single for the final Childish Gambino album that drops this week is drastically different than the previous. "In the Night" goes in a more R&B and alté direction which is pleasant, but it never reaches a second gear. Jorja Smith and Amaaerae give the song some extra depth though. I'm curious to hear how many different directions the album goes in and if it'll come together in a coherent way - I'm also curious about the accompanying film itself for that matter. These two tastes we've gotten from Bando Stone & the New World are cool, but nothing extraordinary. By the time this post comes out, I will have probably already formed an opinion on the actual album itself so ... I guess we will see!!!

"Brush Pile" - Diary

I came upon this single randomly, I had never heard of Diary before, but "Brush Pile" rocks. Just a confident, sort of throwback indie rock cut that harkens back to the lackadaisical vibe of early 90s Sonic Youth - just significantly less noise rock. Their influences are evident and, while this song is very good, I'm hoping the band can carve out their own sound beyond that. Regardless, Diary seem to have all the right tools and I'll definitely be sure to give their upcoming EP Speedboat a listen.

"Detective Alice" - Alice Longyu Gao

I was first introduced to Alice Longyu Gao through her abrasive Let's Hope Heteros Fail, Learn, and Retire EP from last year. It was certainly a unique project, but I never found myself revisiting it too much. "Detective Alice" has her popping up on my radar once again and this is fun! Gao sings about using Instagram as a dating app and spying on people's exes. It's tongue in cheek, I do wish it had a bit more substance though.

"that's what time does" - Oso Oso

New York indie rockers Oso Oso are back with a new album dropping in a few weeks which I was totally unaware of. In high school, I really liked Basking in the Glow for like the span of two weeks or so. It was just what I needed for that time! I just lost track of them since then, but this new single "that's what time does" is a solid track. Their music sounds brighter than I remember, there's a shimmer to it. I'll definitely be sure to check out Life Till Bones, I'll try not to lose track of you next time!

"Lets Get On Dey Ass" - Lil Yachty

Lukewarm off of a middling collab album with James Blake last month, Lil Yachty has returned to old stomping grounds with a trap song - a genre he has talked condescendingly towards ever since his psychedelic rock record Let's Start Here. from early last year. The single's cover art harkens back to some vague 90s rap aesthetics, but the song is nothing like that. This is just Yachty doing trap again, it just kinda rolls along leaving no lasting impression. Made even worse by his aforementioned dismissal of the genre he made a name for himself in. Total snoozer, but I guess it isn't offensively bad.

"15 MINUTES" - Madison Beer

My interactions with Madison Beer's music have been brief outside of checking out her album Life Support back in 2021. I was pretty unimpressed by that album, but "15 MINUTES" kind of impressed me. Mainly due to its transfixing production. It puts in a trance almost. Beer's presence is understated, but not bad. Definitely wish she could've brought a bit more, but this is a solid track. Not enough to get me stoked for a future Madison Beer project, but she's on the right track.

"into place" - Midrift

Midrift is a band of teenagers from California making some pretty decent shoegaze tunes. They've been at this for a couple years, and while I haven't ventured through their other work, it definitely sounds like they've grown confident in this sound. If you're in the mood for some no-frills shoegaze, give "into place" a quick listen. The future seems bright for them - which seems ironic because shoegaze is a bit of a dour genre, but still.

"Work It Out" - Joe Jonas

Joe Jonas is embarking on his second big solo run with this unremarkable, sanitized brand of pop rock. It's not bad, it just isn't particularly exciting either. I mean ... it's Joe Jonas - I wasn't expecting this to be great. After hearing "Cake By The Ocean" and that one big Jonas Brothers hit from a few years ago literally everywhere, I was expecting something way worse so maybe it's good that this is just bland rather than irritating!

"Alexander" | "Guitar Song" - Rex Orange County

◇ released: July 19, 2024 ◇ featured on The Alexander Technique (not yet released) ◇ genre: bedroom pop, indie pop

Besides being taken to courts on six counts of sexual assault - in which he was seemingly found innocent - Rex Orange County has had a relatively uneventful last couple of years. I remember around the big Flower Boy boom of the late 2010s it seemed like he was the next big thing. Hell, I used to love his music to death - but then I grew up. Every project I've heard of his since has lead me to one conclusion; I've grown up, but he hasn't. That remains true on these two new singles, the leads to his upcoming album The Alexander Technique. Mopey bedroom pop that's overly earnest and exhausting to my ears now. I don't know, I think I'm just past this. I do think there are some cool parts in the arrangement for "Guitar Song," like the instrumental break for example, but it's not enough to make it super compelling. Can't say I'm too excited about this new record.

I feel like the homra boys would love having someone fussing over them and their injuries after fighting. Imagine a non-fighting member who is female and also a nurse who spends her off time at the bar patching the guys up after they get in a scuffle, be it with each other or the Blue Clan I can just see them fawning over being taken care of and loved on by the caring nurse. Yata would want nothing to do with her until she showed him just how tough of a woman she is after she patched up two nasty bullet wounds on shouhei while keeping him calm as she patched him up. Chitose has most definitely hit on her, and to no one's surprise, she declined his advances. Eric's sass is always at a minimum when she's at the bar as well. Eric likes to follow her around the bar as she does her work because her kindness reminds him of his mom. Bando gets salty whenever he tries to show off, and her attention is taken off him. Bando and Eric are in constant competition for her attention. Dewa quite likes the nurses' company and quiet talks in the evenings. Dewa is also quite happy for there to be another person to watch after Chitose and his dumb decisions. Kamamoto learns some of the various medical techniques that she uses after he expressed he wanted to learn to help her. Kosuke and the nurse sneak stays into the bar to patch them up and find them homes. Mr. Kusanagi finds her to have been a wise addition to the Red clan and is happy to FINALLY have one person with common sense. Mr. Kusanagi appreciates all her help around the bar and with the others. Anna likes to have someone around whom she can talk to about various things. Anna and the nurse often go on shopping trips because the nurse loves to spoil her. Mikoto doesn't mind her except when she nags him about his laziness and smoking habits. Tatara takes up the hobby of finding medical plants and how to use them to help lower the cost of her medical supplies.

Moving right along with a long-time fandom of mine, K! It's still the same Monopoly prompt, so I kept it limited to a specific clan and I have to say, it was a blast thinking about HOMRA playing Monopoly!

Send me a fandom and a number and I’ll tell you who in Monopoly:

Is the banker: It’s usually Izumo. Does he want to be the banker? No. Does he even want to be playing the game? No. So why is he doing it? Because the others convinced him to play and nominated him as banker.

Is overly protective of a certain game token and refuses to play until they get that token: Shouhei really wants to be the doggy. Like, he really, really wants to that token. Please let him have that token or you will hear about it the rest of the game.

Who is the person who everybody always suspects of cheating even though “OH MY GOD IT WAS ONE TIME”: It was multiple times. Every time, almost, if we’re to be exact. But Eric is a lousy cheater, always gets caught, and it’s become almost a tradition of playing Monopoly!

Is the person who cheats and gets away with it because no one suspects them: Totsuka. He just is so sweet natured and his smile is deceivingly innocent but make no mistake, he’s more than willing to play dirty if he has to.

Buys everything they land on with a YOLO approach and no strategy: Chitose. It’s Chitose every time and it never works for him. Yata will try to strategize most of the time and loses every time he does. Oddly enough, a YOLO approach and no strategy is the one way Yata has ever won.

Suggests that they liven it up with alcohol: Izumo, of course. Alcohol is one of his ‘things’, one of the subjects he knows a lot about and is somewhat passionate about.

Has a very stringent strategy and is willing to do strange requests and weird dares in exchange for the properties they want: Rikio actually usually has a strategy in place within the first fifteen minutes. He really doesn’t care too much if he has to do something silly or look a little foolish. He’s kind of used to not getting a lot of respect and hey, he does enjoy making others laugh and if doing so helps him win in the end, why not?

INSISTS that they play by the rulebook TO THE LETTER: Dewa really prefers to play by the rules. They’re written for a reason, they make the game easy to play and understand for everyone, and they usually keep the game from falling into the hours long mess that it normally does whenever HOMRA plays Monopoly.

Throws the rulebook in the other person’s face and makes up new rules to make it better: Yata is bad for this. Him and Bando and Akagi kind of all team up in making up new rules and they increasingly try to one-up each other in just how ridiculous the new rules get to the point where eventually, if the game hasn’t been won, it just becomes unplayable and unwinnable.

Has ridiculously good luck with the chance cards to the point of suspicion: Anna has so much luck with those chance cards. A lot of the boys think she might be cheating. They strongly suspect it. But they’d never come right out and accuse her of it, of course, because it’s Anna.

Lands on all the taxes and as a result vows to vote for a different candidate in the next election: I feel like Rikio has really bad luck when it comes to both chance cards and landing on taxes and he’d probably make this joke to make light of the situation and then the joke would spin off and become a complaint about politics and everyone would get all fired up about the subject and it might just lead to a fight even though he hadn’t meant it to because they’re all a bunch of idiots.

Goes bankrupt first: Poor Chitose. He doesn’t even really try to strategize and just sucks ass at the game, to be blunt about it. Monopoly is not his game…poker’s more his strong suit.

Which two people get into a screaming match: Honestly, it’s easier to list off who wouldn’t get into a screaming match, which was Totsuka, Izumo, and Fujishima. They rest of them either definitely would or could be goaded into doing so eventually.

Which two people are secretly collaborating for a joint victory: I feel like this would be Fujishima and Eric. The two are quite close and would be able to kind of figure out something without much talking between them and I feel like this would be Fujishima and Eric. The two are quite close and would either have a standing alliance for any games or would be able to communicate well non-verbally to agree to team up, and since they’re both fairly quiet people, nobody really notices them too much or gives a lot of thought to how they’ve managed to get so lucky.

Which two people are openly collaborating for a joint victory: Okay, but is there any question that Bando and Shohei are working together? Seriously, it’s so obvious that nobody could doubt it and, just in case anyone did, Bando’s an idiot who pretty much blurts it out at some point.

Who flips the table: I feel like a lot of these boys would table flip when the game got too hot and heated or things kept going sucky for them but I think, because he is so hot tempered, it’s probably Yata who does it the most.

Who is the sore winner who in any other circumstance would be the one flipping the table: Bando wouldn’t be above flipping a table, but probably wouldn’t do it often. Anytime he wins, which is rare but does happen, he is a horrible, horrible winner though who gets very cocky.

Who anonymously calls in a bomb threat to end the game early: I feel like this would be either Dewa or Izumo. They just really, really want the game to be over. They’ve wanted it to be over from the start but ended up roped into it by more enthusiastic friends.

Who is the smart person who refuses to play in the first place: Mikoto might watch. He might even find it amusing at points. But you’re out of your fucking mind if you think anyone would be getting him to play Monopoly with them.
