The 'Lipton is really worse about Speirs because he went on and on about him and ran Ambrose off' post I have been meaning to make.

Let's set the stage with this letter from Lipton to Winters about how Ambrose just got up and left.

Now, he is referencing the joint interview he had with Bill Guarnere in which both men had a chance to talk about their personal information alone and then had a dual interview about the company.

According to this letter, Ambrose did the joint interview last which means it's probably why he was frustrated. It's a weird interview because Lipton just kept talking about Speirs.

Exhibit A-Speirs is a rugged, strong, fearless leader. He had deep feelings. I'm not unbiased. He told me I got promoted so of course he's going to be a friend regardless of other things.

Exhibit B- Speirs sees an officer who has been hit. I can see that he was really broken up. I am trying to form opinions of this new company commander. he's got strong friendship. He has people he was friendly with. Bed sharing and adamant about it being because Speirs said to take the bed not the strudel or schappes that saved him. 'And knowing Speirs, knowing he that he killed one of his own sergeants' in Normandy' and demanding to know why he didn't kill Craver . Then 'They did have the right guy. But I think he---' (mmm? he what?)

Exhibit C- It was 1947 and I wanted to know more about him so I asked Hester. (WHY HESTER? Ron Speirs was there. At the reunion. Sitting at the same table. Across from Carwood Lipton. )

He didn't drink or smoke and kept himself in good condition. Then he came back to our shared tent, which had TWO beds, and cried. "These things to me show me he is a real human person." (what?) . As far as I'm concerned he did a good job everywhere. What did Malarkey say about him?

Exhibit D -Anyhow he killed this guy in Normandy and NO we don't record how they died if they got hit by friendly fire?

TL/DR- Carwood Lipton is not unbiased about Ronald Speirs and good for him. Ambrose was not looking for that kind of information and left and didn't come back.
