Hey, I love the EMTTS! I always look forward to seeing your posts and they always make my day. So thank you!
I had a thought, for the dance trends on TikTok, does Eddie ever try them? And if so, does he ever try to loop Steve into doing the viral dance trend with him?
One of my favorite headcanons (that I just thought up upon reading this prompt) is that Eddie can’t dance. The guy’s got all the rhythm in the world and none of it is in his feet.
When Steve turned thirty, he decided that they needed to be friends with at least one married couple that had never asked them for advice about kissing girls. His method of obtaining these friends was a ballroom dance class that was taught in the gym of the school he was currently teaching at.
Eddie broke the instructor’s toe with his combat boots.
It’s actually Steve that comes to Eddie with a viral TikTok dance trend.
His students have been begging him for weeks to do one with them and Steve’s a pushover. He eventually relents and tells them that if they can pass their test on Friday AND are good for his substitute of Monday then he’ll do the dance with them, and – “Why’d you agree to that?”
Eddie’s only half-paying attention while he tunes his guitar for a live stream that he’s already started. Steve just groans loudly from where he’s laying on the couch after he graded his students’ test. There’s a quiet moment where the only sound is Eddie’s out of tune guitar before Steve sits up like the Undertaker and says, “Do it with me.”
“I would love to fuck, but I’m kinda in the middle of something.”
Steve gives him a face and then kicks him in the thigh, “C’mon, Eddie. My love, please? For me?”
“Yeah, no. You only pull out ‘my love’ when you want something,” Eddie says. “You don’t even know what dance they want you to do.”
“So?” Steve says back. “All those dances are just your hands. It’s hand stuff. You do hand stuff all the time. You’re good at hand stuff.”
“Yeah, I’ve heard no complaints about my hand stuff,” Eddie grins even when Steve kicks him hard enough to almost knock him off the couch. “Doesn’t matter though, sweetheart, ‘cause nothin’ you say is going to make me do it.”
This snippet of the live stream gets edited so many times with clips of Eddie absolutely dancing with Steve and his students. He is fully pulling a Jake Johnson in that Hey Girl music video because he doesn’t know the moves, he’s not on beat, and he doesn’t want to be there.

Guys I just received my first dress 🥺
It's one of my teacher's dresses!! If I recall correctly, it should be her second dress and it brought her so much luck!!! The season she wore it, she and her partner won every single competition they took part in.
My mom said she was so proud of my progress that she decided to buy it from my teacher as a gift 🥺🥺🥺
I'm beyond honored to have the opportunity to let that dress shine on the dance floor and beyond grateful for my mother's support in everything I do

After 6 years I bought a new dancing shoes 🙈 The old ones were literally falling into pieces and I felt like Barbie in 12 Dancing Princesses 🩷🩰 where the girls' shoes were in desolate condition every morning after they spent all night in an enchanted world dancing and dancing and dancing ✨
Tumblr media
Old ones vs. new ones 🖤 I hate to let them go, because they experienced so many dancing adventures with me; they were here when I first entered the ballroom; when I learned the first basic steps of all 10 ballroom dances; when I had my first performance... 🪩 They will always remain in my heart and stored in a box so that everytime I look at them, the beautiful memories will come back to me 🫶

Dancewear: Essential Gear for Every Dancer
Tumblr media
Dancing is not just a hobby; it's a passion that requires dedication, practice, and the right gear. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned dancer, having the right dancewear is essential to enhance your performance and make you feel confident on the dance floor.
In this blog post, we will explore the must-have dancewear for every dancer, including ballroom dancewear, girls dance skirts, ballroom dance shoes, and women's ballroom dance pants. So, let's get started!
Ballroom Dancewear
Ballroom dancing is a graceful and elegant form of dance that requires specific attire. For men, a classic ballroom dancewear ensemble consists of a tailored suit, a dress shirt. It's important to choose a suit that allows for ease of movement and doesn't restrict your range of motion. For women, a ballroom dance dress is the go-to choice. These dresses are designed to flow with your movements and showcase your elegance. Look for dresses with intricate detailing, such as sequins or lace, to add a touch of glamour to your performance.
 Girls Dance Skirts
For young dancers, girls dance skirts are a must-have. These skirts come in various styles, such as tutus, wrap skirts, or ruffled skirts. They add a touch of femininity and grace to any dance routine. When choosing a girls dance skirt, opt for one that is comfortable and allows for ease of movement. Look for skirts made from lightweight and breathable materials, such as chiffon or tulle. Pair the skirt with a leotard or a fitted top for a complete dance outfit.
 Ballroom Dance Shoes
The right pair of ballroom dance shoes can make all the difference in your performance. These shoes are specially designed to provide support, flexibility, and grip on the dance floor. For men, ballroom dance shoes typically have a low heel and a suede sole that allows for smooth gliding and pivoting. Women's ballroom dance shoes come in various styles, such as Latin heels or standard heels. Choose a pair that fits comfortably and provides adequate support for your feet. Remember to break in your dance shoes before a performance to ensure maximum comfort.
Women's Ballroom Dance Pants
While dresses are a popular choice for women in ballroom dancing, some dancers prefer the comfort and flexibility of dance pants. Women's ballroom dance pants are designed to allow for a wide range of movement while still maintaining a stylish and elegant look. Look for pants made from stretchy and breathable materials, such as spandex or polyester. Opt for a high-waisted style that flatters your figure and provides support to your core. Pair the dance pants with a fitted top or a dance leotard for a polished and professional look.
In conclusion, having the right dancewear is essential for every dancer. Whether you're practicing in the studio or performing on stage, the right gear can enhance your performance and boost your confidence. From ballroom dancewear to girls dance skirts, ballroom dance shoes, and women's ballroom dance pants, each piece of dancewear plays a crucial role in helping you express yourself through movement. So, invest in quality dancewear that fits well, allows for ease of movement, and makes you feel like a true dancer. Dance America is the one-stop shop for all your Ballroom Dancewear needs.

Actually while I'm thinking about it, I just wanna say that the more live-action remakes Disney shlups out like shoveled manure, the more amazed I am that Cinderella (2015) exists. It breaks literally every standard of Disney's LA remakes.
It's not a shot-for-shot remake of the original 1950 animated film, though it does include small references and homages to it, but only when such things can be incorporated organically into the story.
The creators understood and respected the cross-cultural significance of the Cinderella story. They didn't want to "fix" it, or add some wacky twist to it, they just wanted to make the best possible version of the Quintessential Cinderella that they could.
Everything that could be done practically was done practically. The carriage was a real, the horses pulling it were real, and all of the other animals (with the exception of the mice and lizards, since their performance was a lot more involved than the others') were real living animals, the lizard footman and goose carriage driver were wearing prosthetics instead of just having their animal features added in post, the Fairy Godmother's dress had little LED lights sewn into it so that it would actually glow for real, the ballroom set was built by hand and included real chandeliers with more than 2000 total candles that were all actually lit for the scene, and I could go on but you get the point.
There's a ton of attention paid to little details that make the world feel real and lived in. Ella's shoes are always a little scuffed and dirty. Her farm dress is faded and wrinkled. When she breaks down and runs away to the woods, she rides her horse bareback (which, once again, was a thing Lily James actually did, no stunt-double or editing in post), because not only is that something a country girl like her would know how to do, but it also makes sense that with as upset as she is, she wouldn't want to waste time with saddling the horse. When she's dancing with the prince, it's visually obvious that he is leading her and giving her cues because of course Ella wouldn't know the latest ballroom dances, and would need him to guide her through it.
Hey speaking of dancing, y'know what else this movie does that no other LA remake has been allowed to do (at least not to this extent)? ROMANCE. Land sakes alive, this is one of the most unabashedly and yet still tastefully romantic movies I've ever seen. Ella and Kit are just oozing romantic chemistry from the moment they lock eyes for the first time. It all comes down to the fact that these two characters both have the same core values of courage and kindness, which makes their admiration for each other feel grounded and believable. Richard Madden also really sells Kit's feelings for Ella with the way his eyes go all big and soft whenever he looks at her. And don't even get me started on Lily's performance as Ella. Her quiet awe that someone as powerful as the prince loves her. The timidity and fear that she's not really worthy of that. The selfless determination to protect him from her family's cruelty, even if it means she'll never see him again, I'm just-- *banging my fist against the table and screaming into a pillow*
Absolutely god-tier costume design. No notes, I think Sandy Powell's work speaks for itself. Btw, in case you were somehow still wondering, yes, Ella's ballgown is fully practical--those layers upon layers of dreamy silk skirts are real. CG was only used to brighten up the blue color to make her stand out from the crowd more.
Wicked stepmother was allowed to actually be wicked. The movie never tries to make you sympathize with Lady Tremaine, or shift the blame off to someone else. And her villainy is given an extra layer of depth with the reveal that she is a dark reflection of Ella. They've both lost people they loved, but where Ella refused to let her grief get in the way of kindness, Lady Tremaine became utterly consumed by it. She views the death of her first husband as a sort of twisted justification for pursuing all her worst impulses. She despises Ella for her ability to flourish even while enduring terrible suffering, for being everything Lady Tremaine was either unable or flat-out refused to be.
Also Cate Blanchet absolutely SLAYS in this role. Hands-down my favorite portrayal of the wicked stepmother character.
Anyways, TLDR: Cinderella (2015) is the only Disney live-action remake that can justify its own existence and that's because it actively defies everything the LA remakes are today.
