"Hey boss, what's this?" Nimona asked. Ballister looked over, expecting her to be holding one of his gadgets. Instead, Nimona was holding up a white pacifier with gold jewels on it that said "little balli" on the handle. Ballister didn't say anything, just stared at her.

"Boss?" Ballister broke and began crying. He realized he was little, very little. Had he ever regressed since the whole arm event?

"B-boss?" Nimona walked over. She didn't mean for this to happen, she was just wondering why he had a pacifier that was just so different to himself. Ballister put his thumb in his mouth. Nimona replaced his thumb with the pacifier. Ballister just looked at her. She wasn't upset?

"You're a little guy right now, aren't you?" Ballister nodded.

"Don't worry, I don't mind. I'm a little guy too sometimes." Nimona ruffled his hair.

- His tiny age fluctuates, anywhere between itty-bitty baby to his pre-teens. It all depends on how he's feeling that very moment ;w;

- No matter how tiny he is, this boy loves science or any kind of tinkering! When he's in an older kid headspace, Ambrosius lets Ballister with the things in Bal's "lab".

But, when Ballister is younger, Ambrosius has to keep a very careful eye on the tyke because he will find him trying to "fix" his own arm (by fix I do mean sticking random wires around, thankfully none actually ever get any conducive energy because Ambrosius doesn't know what he'd do if his little Balli got shocked!!) So, Ambrosius has to keep things nearby that Ballister /can/ tinker with (like, remotes)

-Oooh Ambrosius is a very protective Papa!!! Nobody dares harm a hair on his little one's head! He is always nearby Balli, making sure he's safe ♡

- Post-film, when the wall isn't really a thing anymore, Ambrosius totally brings Ballister out to the forest for some relaxing, tiny time away from the stresses of the city ;w; for the most part, it's them all snuggled up under a tree, Ballister taking a nap and Ambrosius running his fingers through his tiny one's hair♡♡♡♡ (Nimona is there too, she's flying around with some birdies, collecting cool sticks xD)

- tiny Ballister still likes boardgames! He insists on no one go easy on him when he's tiny. But uhh,,,impossible because he'll land on Ambrosius' lot and be told he needs to pay 700 gold and Ballister will just look over to him like "🥺🥺🥺 700?? I don't gots that🥺🥺🥺" (he has that, he just can't count that high!) xD

- Ballister gets a lot of phantom limb pain. When he's big, he can handle it, but when tiny, it kinda spooks him! Because his arm hurts, but it's not there?? Ambrosius will hold him on his lap, gently massaging the amputated area, speaking softly to Ballister (Ambrosius feels so much guilt but even more so when Ballister is tiny ;0; he sees those confused, sad eyes looking at him and just hugs him tightly)

- Ballister likes to play with Ambrosius' hair, it's so soft and smells so good/soothing to him ;u;

Can only be small if he’s calm and not stressed, tension keeps him on his toes because of his training.

I hope this isn’t a weird ask, but as someone who has experienced very similar involuntary regression, the CTAD clinic research says that being autistic is enough trauma to cause dissociative disorders (like DID) and I think it might be worth looking into if your inner child is someone you can talk to. Especially if you are not leading both sides of the conversation. I’ve learned I have DID about two years ago after having the same questions and feelings.

I am not able to diagnose as a fellow tumblr user, but sometimes research can help. And even if you don’t resonate with it, sometimes coping mechanisms can cover multiple bases! Hope this helps! <3

hihi! not weird at all! I appreciate your concern and care :)

I feel with complete certainty that I am one person and one identity. I do not exhibit symptoms of DID. But I am autistic, and I do think that the trauma of existing has wedged itself pretty good into my subconscious. Sometimes it rears its ugly head and my inner child goes ballistic.

i think what's happening to me is more of a fight-flight-fawn thing than anything else. I've been trying to unmask my autism on my own for a while now; however, with an audience (i.e. my husband), it can make me feel very vulnerable and scared because I'm chronically afraid of rejection. My past experiences taught me that my authentic self is not one that others enjoy or think well of.

As a result, my brain will punish me for exhibiting behaviors that could get me rejected by throwing itelf into an unnecessary spiral of shame and fear. This, I believe, feeds on itself enough to kick me back into a state of true regression instead of simple dreaming, since I was very young when I began to learn what others thought of me.

It's all overcomeable, though. It'll take a lot of talking to God. He calls me fearfully and wonderfully made, autism and all, and there is no shame to be had when I am walking in His light. I imagine that someday I'll grow out of agere just like normal kiddos do, and hopefully someday God will bless me with a child of my own :)

Not my usual agere stuff but I just watched Nimona last night and oh my god!!!

!!!spoilers below!!!

It showcases the trans/queer experience so amazingly and reflects our society so well. It even has a narrative parallel to police and how our society demonizes anyone who is different or doesn't fit the "norm." In the end when Nimona returns to her human form it shows how excess force is used even when there is no need. It's a beautiful display of queerness and shows the flaws of our society.

When Ballister brings up how Nimona's shape shifting feels or what she is, she always responds with "I'm Nimona" or just says that's the way she is. She is Nimona, she is just herself, there's nothing else to it. Ballister asks what would happen if she didn't shape shift and Nimona jokingly said she'd die but seriously said "I wouldn't actually die but I sure wouldn't be living." Both of these deeply reflect the way many trans people feel and even implies the fact that many trans people (especially trans youth) take their lives because they can't be themselves.

I love how Ambrosuis and Ballister's relationship isn't seen as different to anyone in the movie. There's no homophobia or mention of it and all of their relationship struggles are related to the plot. It's the perfect kind of queer representation, it's just seen as normal (because it is) and it's not the punchline of a joke. And the same goes for Nimona's gender!

It's so interesting how well Nimona reflects a lot of things in our society. After The Director is exposed she's able to spin the story to further demonize Nimona and evade any punishment for her actions. She used someone who was different and trying to create change because she felt threatened. In the ending The Director decides to use extreme force to kill Nimona even after she returns to her human form and Ambrosuis points out that the weapon would take out half the city and kill thousands of innocent people.

Overall, Nimona was beautifully written and hit home for so many people. Plus the animation and plot is fantastic. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I ranted to myself about it afterwards. Now I'm forcing my mom to watch it today :)

Perk: SUROS Legacy - The bottom half of each magazine deals bonus damage and has a chance to return health on kill.

Trait: Spinning Up - Holding down the trigger increases rate of fire. / Dual Speed Receiver - When aiming down sights, weapon rate of fire slows while weapon damage increases.

Masterworked Trait: SUROS Ascendance - Increased chance for kills to regenerate health.

Ornaments: Coup de Main, Gray Nitrate, SUROS Chrome, Standard Bearer

Origin & Description: Despite looking like a super-cool pulp scifi ray gun, SUROS Regime is a regular ballistic auto rifle with disappointingly mundane abilities. It was first introduced in Destiny 1 and many players seem to have fond memories of it, but I have a hard time getting interested myself. I’m sure there’s someone out there who loves it but I haven’t found them yet. Its stats are solid but not extraordinary across the board, its 600 RPM fire rate is high but not unique, and only the chance of returning health on a kill sets its exotic perk apart - the other half is a variant on the standard legendary trait High-Impact Reserves that makes the bottom half of the mag deal extra damage. But it does also has a choice of traits: Spinning Up, where the weapon fires faster as you hold down the trigger; or Dual-Speed Receiver, which does increased damage with a slower firing rate when aiming down sights. It's a solid weapon in PvE but doesn't really do anything. In PvP the ability to refresh your health on a kill is a lot more compelling, since it's what makes armor like the Titan exotic One-Eyed Mask thoroughly broken, but even so it never quite carved out a niche. It's seen a PvP resurgence since Season 10 thanks to the Auto Rifle range & damage buff, though it’s still not a common sight.

SUROS Regime is an iconic piece from the SUROS foundry; its Destiny 1 lore tab implies that said foundry ran out of the smart-matter needed to produce its frame pretty quickly, limiting the supply. Its pull quote alludes to the foundry's emphasis on elegance and style. Most SUROS weapons have names drawn from music and dance, such as the Allegro-34 handcannon or the Pentatonic-48 rocket launcher, and they have a consistent design theme of casings built from wide, shallow curves often marked with bright red highlights and the foundry's name and logo. SUROS Regime is Peak Aesthetic for them: maximum curves and full-on pulp ray gun design enclosing all functional parts of the weapon. It's the manufacturing opposite of Sleeper Simulant's skeletal rapid-prototype look. SUROS Regime looks like it should go "pew pew!" in an exciting new way. But sadly it just goes "bang bang!" in the same old style.

SUROS Regime's ornaments keep the same silhouette and style and just change the color palette; "Coup de Main" is an incredibly boring white that at least brings it in line with the look of legendary SUROS weapons; "SUROS Chrome" makes it, well, chrome; "Standard Bearer" is another, more emphatically SUROS-themed look; and "Gray Nitrate" gives it a cool carbon-fiber look.
