How is the relationship between Erik and Christian and Raul?

As in what is their relationship in fantomestein? I need to make a chart one of these days! But the long and short of it is: Erik and Christine have an attempt at a father/daughter-esque relationship (albeit a weird, sad, strained and macabre one). It’s complicated and messy and co-dependant—but it is platonic. Christine is in love with Raoul and vice versa (not platonic). Erik is primarily scared of Raoul right now and probably couldn’t put a name to what he feels. The Daroga and Erik…ahhh that remains to be seen.

Total aside: but The "Christian" spelling sent me and I think I love him.

Christines are powerful as is, but with the power of 1800s era male privilege on his/her side? Geez, an unstoppable force.

the training montage in crossroads re-ignited a headcanon i had of geralt waking up and doing gymnastics, performing kickflips and mid-air spins around on a fencepost outside an hour before sunrise to ‘limber up,’ and bleary-eyed dandelion wrapping himself up in a blanket to be like "heyyy... what the hell are you doing 💖"

Dream doesn't dance anymore, he can't find the love - although Hob is (re)awakening all manner of things Dream has forgotten he loves - some how post a fundraising party or at the holiday party after party - Dream and Hob are in a night club with the sexy dancing, and Dream is happy (or less sour, happy for him) and watching Hob move on the dance floor, hips moving, with Hob stealing glances, causes (forces, really how could he NOT) Dream to get up/walk over to Hob on the dance floor and DANCE with him - queue sex "dancing" in public, sweaty, horny, open mouthed, "guys, get a room" in the club.

Dream has sworn off dancing. If he can't perform, what's the point? If he can't be the best of the best then he just isn't interested. He is, however, interested in Hob. And Hob very much seems to be dancing for him.

This isn't a rehearsal or a performance. It's not even a warm up. It's just Hob, in the middle of a crowd of college kids and a bunch of people who seem to have poured straight of an office. He's dancing, jumping around with his arms in the air, bumping in friendly harmony with the crowd. But he keeps catching Dream’s eye and giving him this blinding smile.

The music is mostly cheesy hits from the 90s and 00s, but after a while some more sensual songs come on in between the bangers. A few people try to engage Hob in a different flavour of dance - grinding on him, touching his chest. He laughs them off each time, or ducks out of the way. And each time he looks at Dream again.

And Dream feels the pull of the music like he hasn't for over a decade.

He ends up in the middle of the crowd, inches away from Hob in all his sweat-soaked glory. Another slow song with a heart stopping bass comes on and Dream’s hands are on Hob’s hips all of a sudden, sliding around to cup his arse. Hob’s hands glide up over Dream’s chest and cup the back of his neck, pulling him in closer. They're both panting, lips almost brushing. Hob hooks his hand around Dream’s thigh and pulls it up around his waist and then they're kissing, like it's just another dance move.

The crowd parts - only because Hob overbalances and crashes onto the sticky floor with Dream in his arms. They don't stop kissing until they're seriously under threat of being trampled. Dream peels Hob up off the floor and they grin at each other like idiots, and somehow they keep dancing - Dream finds himself wanting to dance.

In fact, he can't bear to stop.

Not to sound like an angry old man but one of the things that bothers me most both when I’m teaching my kiddos and when I’m in class with adult beginners is that like there is etiquette in ballet class that’s just archaic and shitty, there’s etiquette in ballet that’s just about courtesy/tradition, and then there’s etiquette that’s there for safety

And ppl tend to pick up on the second pretty quickly both as kids and adults—like thanking the teacher/pianist, being quiet when the teacher is talking, etc.—but they’re really bad at the third category, which is imo the most important

And like obv some of that is because they haven’t been taught but, frankly, a lot of ballet etiquette is learned through observation—noticing that, hey, if all the experienced dancers are starting this combination from the corner in the same formation, maybe I should, too. But people (both kids and adults!) just…don’t seem to pay very much attention to that side of things?? Even though it can literally save you from or give you a broken ankle depending on if you’re doing it correctly or not??

And I get that when you’re focusing really hard on understanding the steps or combination, less of your mind is on spacing/not getting tackled by your neighbor—but people (mostly adults for this one) get like kind of uppity about it?? When they’re? Wrong???

one thing to know about me is i love ballet, and i will indulge that love if anyone gives me an excuse to so! balaerra, as mythra, the queen of the willis from the ballet giselle, bc @thesolemnhour was very nice and was assigning variations and ballerina's to ppls ocs. here's balaerra's!
