Tips for Choosing the Right Acrodance Class for Your Child
Finding the perfect acrodance class for your child can be a thrilling yet challenging task. Acrodance blends the artistry of dance with the flexibility and strength of acrobatics, making it a fantastic choice for energetic and adventurous kids. Here are some tips to help you select the right acrodance class for your child:
1. Assess Your Child’s Interests and Goals
Before enrolling your child in an acrodance class, consider their interests and goals. If they enjoy combining dance with acrobatics, acrodance is an excellent fit. However, if they’re more inclined towards hip hop or classical dance, you might explore other options like hip hop classes or ballet classes for kids.
2. Look for Qualified Instructors
The quality of instruction can make a huge difference in your child’s experience and progress. Ensure that the class is taught by qualified instructors with experience in acrodance. You might also consider other classes to see if they have instructors who are skilled in different dance forms, such as jazz dance classes or classical vocals.
3. Evaluate Class Structure and Size
A well-structured class with a manageable size is essential for effective learning. Smaller class sizes often mean more personalized attention. Check if the acrodance classes have a structured curriculum that includes warm-ups, skill-building, and choreography.
4. Check Facilities and Safety Measures
Ensure that the studio provides a safe environment with proper equipment and facilities. This is especially important for acrodance, which involves physical movements that require safety precautions. If you are considering a ballet school in Singapore, make sure the facilities are up to standard.
5. Visit the Studio and Observe a Class
Before making a decision, visit the studio and observe a class if possible. This will give you a sense of the class dynamics, teaching style, and how the instructor interacts with the students.
6. Consider the Class Schedule and Location
Choose a class that fits well with your family’s schedule and is conveniently located. Whether it’s acrodance or another form of dance, a suitable schedule will ensure consistency and commitment. You can also explore dance classes in Singapore that fit your requirements.
7. Seek Recommendations and Read Reviews
Talk to other parents or read online reviews to get insights into different acrodance programs. Personal recommendations can be incredibly valuable in finding a class that’s well-regarded by others.
8. Inquire About Trial Classes
Many studios offer trial classes, which can be a great way to gauge if the class is a good fit for your child before committing long-term. This allows your child to experience the class and see if it aligns with their interests.
9. Evaluate Costs and Value
Consider the cost of the class and what it includes. Sometimes, higher costs may reflect better facilities or more experienced instructors. Ensure that you’re getting good value for the price you’re paying.
10. Check for Additional Opportunities
Find out if the studio offers additional opportunities such as performances or competitions. These can be great for boosting your child’s confidence and providing them with extra motivation.
By keeping these tips in mind, you can find an acrodance class that will not only meet your child’s needs but also nurture their passion for dance and acrobatics. If you’re looking for more options or have specific questions, you can always contact us for personalized advice.
For a broader range of dance classes, you might also explore options like ballet classes or hip hop classes. Each dance form has its unique benefits and can complement your child's acrodance training.

[Stan doing Dolly's hair for her ballet class]
Dolly: Pappa, how do you know how to comb hair so well?
Stan: I don't know, gremlin. It's something I learned a long time ago.
Dolly: Did you go to ballet classes!?
Stan: Why such a correct assumption?
Dolly: You confirmed it!
Stan: Wow! You're smart, gremlin!
Dolly: What was your favorite presentation?
Stan: I don't know, I don't remember that time much.
Dolly: Oh!... So you didn't like going to ballet?
Stan: It wasn't something I was excited about.
Dolly: But, don't you like me doing ballet?
Stan: It's different, sweetie. You like ballet, and if you like it, I'm happy that you do something you like.
Dolly: ...
Stan: But I remember, I wanted to be a rat in a presentation.
Dolly: That's the nutcracker!!!
Stan: Oh, is that the name? I wanted to be a rat, but I ended up being a candy fairy or something.
Dolly: Too bad! You would have made a great rat-... No, pappa, you would have made a great rat king!!
Stan: So the Rat King, huh?
Dolly: Yes, the best Rat King!
#Stan has a complicated relationship with ballet...#Although Stan liked some of the stories about ballet#he didn't really like practicing it.#But he had to go to ballet classes because “Dad paid for it”...#Maybe for him ballet would have been more fun if he had had more neutral roles...#Let's say Dolly makes him like ballet...#A rather long conversation... but I liked the idea of Dolly dressed as Clara and Stan as the Rat King...#fiddlestan triplets au#fiddleford x stanley#stanley x fiddleford#gravity falls stanley#stanley pines#fan kid#fiddlestan#trans!stan#gravity falls#gravity falls au#fiddlestan triplets

I have this massive AU for the Batfam (and DC in general) that spawned from a very sleep deprived "You can't just gender swap Batman, there are implications" and honest to God, it's the one thing keeping me sane.
#like#there's no way in hell you end up being the same kind of person if you are a woman#gender (much like race or class or sexuality) is such an integral part of your identity#it woukd be more socially acceptable for Alfred to “mother” Bruce#Bruce's persona would be beloved in the year of our lord 2024#but before???#she's a bimbo and it does make the cover better but it's gotta be so grating#specially the slutshaming#there's so many more people trying to wrestle control of WE industries from her#and don't get me started on the kids#Dick would struggle so much with his perception as “easy bubbly happy girl”#and her experiences of sa and eldest daughter rage#like imagine how different Dick's “happy but with anger issues” personality would be percieved#Barbara having to deal with disability when being a man is all about physical prowess#I think Jason would have a very gender moment of discovering butchness#and Tim on the other hand would be so performatively girlie#like Jack is the kind of mother that makes her daughter get into ballet because she never could#batfam#batman#genderswap#genderbend

I got sucked into a youtube rabbit hole and guyssss I miss ballet.....
#if you didnt know#i used to do ballet tap and drama classes when i was a wee little kid#and i was good at it. i think#im very flexible#it's the only like. very feminine thing (to me. it doesnt have to be. there are male dancers) that I've ever really connected to#remembering getting a million bobby pins stuck in my skull for that beautiful ballet bun#the gorgeous bun covers. my tights and my leotard.#and i am really flexible (hello eds) so I can do the splits easy. I can stretch with my head to the floor#and I was a quick learner. the steps were very satisfying to me to learn and remember#it was fun.#but theres nooo way I could do it now. too fat and out of shape for one#and for two all my bones would break instantly#but anyway. feeling very nostalgic

it’s so not feasible in literally any universe but the concept of morris doing ballet still possesses me body and soul
#once again turning to george crawford and yelling ‘this is your fault!’#he’s just so graceful especially in uksies#ballet is about strength and rigidity and perfection#veers easily into obsession and not being good enough. pushing yourself to the point of destruction#just to be perfect for a second before you crash#and that is just. so morris#also very often foster kids are just made to Do Stuff so that’s my excuse for him. boy got shoved into a ballet class#and then got stuck on the desire to be Good at it and earn the praise of his teacher#morris delancey

every couple years I’m like “I should be stretching” and rediscover that I am like. comically inflexible
#if you saw me stretching you would be like ‘you are just sitting there’#meanwhile my tendons feel like a bridge cord#this has been a post#this isn’t even JUST a ‘I don’t stretch like I should and you can tell’#(which is true but)#I did gymnastics and ballet as a kid#I was the only person in both classes who couldn’t do the splits#even when I was at my springiest I was still inflexible

im catching up on the dash but yeah @joelleity i was a mime. like the makeup and everything. i had my own box routine and i also had a hat one where i'd 'put on' different hats and it was literally that one long tumblr heritage post where the hats influence you
it was an elective at my school, it was fun, and it was basically like freeform dance with choreography and shows. we had two 1 1/2 hour shows, one being christmas themed and the other was literally prince of egypt, set to parts of the soundtrack. i was the archangel gabriel in the christmas one and i had a stage fight scene with a girl who played satan lol. we would perform at schools and churches and we connected with other (more well known) mimes and other freeform performers at conventions and stuff! i was gearing towards being a more fleshed out mime towards the end because the school was going to shit and then it all stopped when the school (small church school) closed down on christmas break and my teacher couldnt put together a way to keep the troupe going. i still have videos circulating the internet of us ahaha
#i had to take ballet again when the school stopped#my teacher is my mom's best friend bc of all of this now and she still calls me Angel Girl#we had a closet with our costumes and the portable stage and let me tell you. i think the closet ate someone#at our peak we had 17 members and the last year it was just. 3#including me#mara's shit#here u go my mime lore#did you know as a kid i took over 8 different types of dance classes#irish soft/hardshoe was my favourite i think

the nashville ballet had an intermediate class that would be perfect for me! unforch i work retail and so my schedule changes constantly so i wouldn’t be able to go every week/multiple times a week unless i asked to change my schedule specifically to have monday and wednesday nights off + saturday middays off … fuck i hate working retail i need an office job STAT!
#dont mind me#and that’s just for the summer (until end of july)#ok so. monday the fifth i’m off and there’s#a class 6-730. i’ll use my first class discount to go to that and see how i feel#god i’m excited just thinking about it#i wish i could e been super good at ballet as a kid so i could just go to ballet school and be a pro#i love it so much#it’s FUN and PRETTY and#i’m literally getting teary eyed oh my god#FUCK I JUST REALIZED ITS BEEN TEN YEARS SINCE I WAS IN A FORMAL DANCE CLASS#that’s too short for me to be this nostalgiac#so like the pricing for classes is 15$ for one. and they sell packs of classes where it gets cheaper the more you buy#and i could buy 48 classes for 280$ but i would have to go to two classes/week every single week#bc class tickets expire in six months and that’s how many classes minimum you’d have to attend to use all your passes#and the thing is physically i could do it#BUT MY FUCKING JOBBBBBBB

big shoutout to the girl in my dance class that i’ve never met before who, after i corrected the teacher on my pronouns (she’s right most of the time but understandably slips up since she’s in her 60s and everyone else is a girl) said THEY even louder to make sure everyone heard

i could have been such a ballet girlie (transmasc-coded) if my dad hadnt traumatized me maaaaan… couldve played sports too
#teddy#like this isnt how it actually works. but i was really athletic as a little kid :(#i loved to dance and play ball and just like. move my body.#and i couldnt stand to be in my body at all so i quit all my activities :(#a big part of it was also being autistic made team sports and ballet classes and the slight variations in routine really hard for me#but well my parents traumatized me for being autistic too lol i think i could have participated#in those kinds of things pretty easily if i was in a safe home environment/had some support#with things like learning new movements and socializing#but i like totally forgot how to move my body at all bc of trauma#a crazy thing about recovery has been how much easier it is to like. catch a ball. spin in a circle. Walk#the visual processing will be and would have always been hard forever though. its so hard to explain bc my vision is ok#but i dont process images right lol its really hard for me to look AND see AND understand#which everyone else seems able to do just fine…#i cant really process visual information and move at the same time which does make sports uhhh pretty hard#but muscle memory helps a lot if i can build it up!
