SUMMER’S WARMTH Dippin’ in the sun’s cradle

For the longest time, the only goal I try to achieve is to fight sadness. I kept my utmost aspirations in a drawer for I cannot really deal with them at the moment. I just want to be better first, I said. For some reason, as much as I don’t want it to happen, melancholy keeps on knocking on my doors and barging in my windows.

It finally happened: I think I was dealing with Post-Travel Depression. That Taiwan trip was fucking lovely, but the aftermath is bittersweet – a guilty pleasure I want to taste no matter how I resent it. Suddenly, I was back to being stagnant, just doing the things I was required to do with no actual plans on moving forward. But I guess it’s the only way to do it. Pain demands to be felt, they say.

On the other hand, the good news happened: I was swayed away from that sadness when I was offered another film project again this month, finally a great distraction from it all. Also, my heart became full for a while knowing that the film would be an entry to my most favorite film festival in the country which is Cinemalaya. I had a good fun I may say; the film set was warm and full of laughter. On free days, I still find myself biking around town taking photographs, a good balance it was.

This May was another ride on a crazy roller coaster, full of ups and downs, and I was just here for the thrill. The best part though was I chose to close my eyes and somehow enjoy the ride, slowly moving away from the fear until I felt like I was just drifting again with occasional rush. I ended the month okay, accepted the sun’s warmth, feeling neither happy nor sad.

Still, but breathing.

while i cant assign him a specific province, i definitely do feel that he loves being out of the city. i hc that he particularly likes mountainous regions because he likes hiking and trekking.....

IT ENDS TODAY I choose to free myself from chaos

Sometime this July, I had a short but meaningful conversation with a psychic friend and he told me something I truly needed to hear, he said that my Karmic year has concluded and that I must live my life a little more freely from now on. He asked me if I had dealt with a lot of heaviness in the past year and I couldn’t agree more because I did. But it’s over now and he’s right on that one too. I love how my life treated me the past month, silent battles were won and I’ve been wearing more smiles lately than a while back.

I have spent the first 2 weeks of this month still in Taiwan and I think I have mentioned the details of that in my June entry, but I just really want to remember my ecstatic feelings over it. Now I’m back here in the Philippines, back home. Back to my old routine, and appreciating the calmness of it all. I am still carrying the happiness I have regained from that work trip and I think I will stay in this lane for now.

I am at peace and I am loving every second of it. Sometimes I worry about endings but perhaps I just need to appreciate this little life while the serenity lasts. That is it. I am just here, bracing myself for more light, love, bliss, and even pinches of bleedings ahead because I believe that’s how life creates its balance.

How are you?I’ll change things a little bit for today and I won’t hope that you’re having a great time… I felt that that’s maybe the reason why you feel jetak, so I’ll just hope that you survived today… I’m sorry if I told you earlier to have a good day… Today, I spent my time on 3 things: solving the problems in the book, watching the series I’m into at the moment, and spending time with my family.

I enjoyed fetching my sister, talking with her at home, and bringing her back to the in-laws at night, Yeet. I also ruined her day with my jokes, but I already forgot most of them, but I’ll give you 3 that I remember. Actually, there’s 2 jokes coming from me and 1 joke coming from mama and my sister. For the first joke,the one that came from mama and my sister, my ate said that she’ll miss the “fat one,” which we use to name each other, and I said that I have a theme song for that, which is unforgettable, but mama said it should be “unporkettable,” and my ate added that it should be “unporchettable,” and I sang the song

They kind of giggle every now and then when I sang that.

As for my second joke,Yeet, I saw a Baliwag Shop along the way, and I asked them, “What does a person with broken bones say to someone who accidentally touched the said area?” The answer is “Bali, Wag!” Bali is a term used for broken bones and ‘wag is actually Huwag, or “no” in english.

As for my last joke that I remember for today, Yeet, I asked them, “What food do you give to one’s partner?” The answer is BBQ, or barbeque, but it can also be an acronym for “Be Be Qu” or baby ko, or in English, ” My Baby”

I guess I’ll end my message here for tonight, Yeet… I understand that my jokes are lame, that they’re corny, but whenever I joke around with my family, I feel closer to them, and they’d always have a reply or reaction to them which just lightens my heart. I won’t hope that you’re happy and enjoying life today because I feel that you’re hurting… I just hope that you’ll pray/talk to God about everything and anything and I hope that you’ll remember that I love you, Yeet…
