BUCKLE UP Downhill, uphill here we go

To be completely honest, I did not really want to write about this one thing that happened this month that broke me into pieces. It’s too painful I guess, but maybe I should do this to help me process it more. Lvna almost died. I was dealing with a lot of things recently that maybe I haven’t noticed that he was in pain. My friends said that I don’t have to blame myself for it, but I cannot help it. To cut things short, Lvna manifested an alarming symptom and when I took him to the vet, it turned out that he already has a lot of diseases and health concerns. He was confined in the clinic for two long weeks and my anxiety was all over the place. It was a life and death situation for him and I cannot talk about it more, this is enough.

But still I thank the heavens and the gods, because the universe had ways to lift me up from that pit that had been killing me lately: 1. Lvna got better, still with a lot of medications but he fought so bravely and I love him even more for that. This black cat has been my constant savior ever since the lockdown, and I think it’s about time that I save him back. 2. I have spent three amazing days with Wence in Baguio. We plan to do this every year and I was glad that we did it in the midst of my dark days. An escape it was, a beautiful trip with my handsome lover to ease my heavy, lonely heart. Also, this was done to compensate both of our post Taiwan travel depression and it was worth it. We were really cute and I really love our little moments when we travel together. 3. Finally, after 3 long years of waiting and mishaps, my family and I moved into our new house. There was a lot of adjustments but we finally did it. I cannot really process my emotions about this one at the moment, but maybe in another post.

To sum it up, this June was fucking bewildering. I can conclude that I am still fucked up at the moment. I have had my little escapes and that made me really ecstatic, but I am not completely healed. I really have to buckle up, hope for the best yet expect the worst. I came to a point where I have accepted that life is fucking me up really bad at the moment, and maybe I just have to brace myself for more.

I successfully managed to push Harman's Kentmere 400 three stops and shoot it at 3200 ISO. This is one of the reasons I love this film, it's very versatile and has a great latitude.

These were all shot at night at 1/60th without a tripod. The snow helped my exposure because it's so reflective and acts as a bounce.
