something about barry and lucretia and sans and alphys. characters who witness the narrative from the sidelines. characters who survive no matter what.
lucretia and alphys taking the existing narrative into their own hands and trying to control it. driven by a terrible guilt, skeletons in your closet that's really an elevator to your basement. characters who, whether from experience or cowardice, never place themselves in the path of fire, in the path of the narrative, only shape it from above. has secrets that nobody in the whole world knows about, except for...
barry and sans following the narrative from the sidelines, trying to push things a certain direction without ever really explaining why. never ever vulnerable to a fight until the very, very end. kind and tired person but actually has dark secrets but is actually just a nerd. has given up on going home but still wants to keep this world from getting destroyed too.

How often has Alphys caught Blue or otherwise called him out on keeping secrets?
Actually caught him, I’d say a handful of times. Not super common, and the first few are really the only ones that Blue was like “oh shit” about lmao. She’s a smart cookie! It’d be weirder if it never happened. (Un)fortunately, her noticing is an easy fix. Just need a new Reset.
Calling him out, though, that happens a lot more: from little comments here and there that make him sweat, to full on asking him wtf is happening. Just depends on how well he was hiding his stress and “uncharacteristic” behaviors! Blue’s learned to talk his way around a lot of it without majorly concerning her, though. XD
#at first#I imagine little things like#‘good thing we tell each other everything. Right Sans?’#with massive squinty side eyes#(cuz she’s as subtle as a freight train)#and Blue just ‘yup yes such a good thing wonderful indeed wowie look at the time—‘#undertale#undertale multiverse#asks#dragon balance au#winged au#swap sans#swap alphys#swap!sans#swap!alphys#underswap

I keep forgetting to say this but Gaster with his lab coat having a popped collar and being frayed at the hems/edges comes across as his own deliberate aesthetic choice considering the lab coats Sans and Alphys wear are perfectly fine. Like the collar is easy but the frayed hems? Plus the vent cut?
... which fits Gaster-who-is-also-Papyrus to a T considering Papyrus thinks his Battle Bod is sick (which it is, although opinion can politely differ regarding his choice for Hot Date outfit and Jog Boy outfit).
I mean look at who Gaster will have/Papyrus does have as a good friend. Undyne. Both of them are dramatic AF dorky little shits who want to look cool in order to impress people they want to help. So Gaster having some of that Drama and expressing that through his otherwise mundane clothing choices is cute.
Yeah, he's a little dramatic...
Those things happened to his lab coat because he's not super careful when handling flamable stuff + he keep accidentally tearing it apart
He could replace it but he won't (he secretly likes it)
Oh...it's so sad to answer this ask after JUST changing his lab coat a little in the ref sheets aosusksj the frayed hems in the collar are gone nooooooo😞😞😞😞
The things I have to do for a balanced design and to avoid drawingd inconsistencies sigh😞😞😞
#hehehe#but yeah#YOU GET IT#that's kinda what I wanted#he's a little extra and that's okay....#answered ask

We need more Classic in this household and I'll help you with that.
How about this, just Sans being himself, punny and funny skeleton in reader's house but then they suddenly ask him to let them see his soul and touch it.
Getting his permission and they do just that, bcuz they are just being curious about how soul works while making sure not to make Sans uncomfortable.
Just fluff and mild suggestive to satisfied reader's curiosity. I'm counting on you with your beautiful writing 🤭
cw.: Classic Sans x Reader, Alphys is mentioned, fluff, bam! Kabedon scene, they're both a blushing mess...
note: I'm trying out a new type of writing, let's see how it goes. I'll make a part two of this! So let's say this is a prequel :D
In the past days, a recurring question haunted your thoughts from time to time: what would Sans's soul be like? Sure, in a way, you knew exactly what a monster's soul looked like; there were no mysteries! An upside-down heart with a pattern color.
Even though it was fascinating to imagine that monster souls might, though rarely, have a color other than white, it still remained an impossible theory — at least, that’s what Dr. Alphys told you when you pondered the differences between human and monster souls out loud.
You can still hear her stuttering in an endless loop, a never-ending monologue filled with technical terms and theories that she contradicted during the conversation (which you participated in only as a listener later). Unfortunately, you could barely remember half of the information she threw at you — if your memory serves you right, Alphys deliberately mixed the topic with some shoujo anime she was watching at the time. If that served as some kind of analogy, you don’t remember.
In any case, one of the few pieces of information Dr. Alphys shared that really stuck with you was that viewing someone else's soul is an extremely intimate act — on a level of interpersonal relationships that spans years or even decades, according to research conducted in the Underground.
Since then, you found yourself constantly watching Sans, following him around the rooms until he went to work or locked himself in his office — always using the same excuse of working from home, but you were beginning to suspect that he simply didn’t want to handle the paperwork outside the house.
He seemed to take pleasure in vanishing every time you gathered the courage to ask the long-awaited question—only to open your eyes and realize you were speaking to yourself. But this time, Sans wasn’t going to escape.
You had devised the perfect plan, and the moment to put it into action had arrived.
"Well, my break’s over; looks like I’ll have to work to the bone now. Heh." Sans remarked nonchalantly, shrugging as he made his way to his infamous hideout, the office (which had originally been a recreational area until Sans had slyly taken it over with his stacks of paper and dirty socks).
Time to put the first part of your plan into action.
Before Sans could even touch the doorknob, you rushed toward him — almost losing your balance as you had to sidestep his favorite pet rock.
Bam! The door slams shut with the palm of your hand, startling both you and the skeleton, who was still facing away with one hand on the doorknob. Without hesitation, you press your other hand against the door as well, pinning both of them against the wooden surface and effectively trapping Sans.
“Nah-uh!” you counter, watching him turn around with one bony eyebrow raised, looking more intrigued than surprised by your stance. “I know your meeting schedule for today, and you don’t have any meetings right now!” Your triumphant smile doesn’t escape Sans’s notice.
He chuckles before turning fully toward you, leaning his weight against the door. “Heh, looks like someone’s been watching too many anime.” He gives you a lazy wink, glancing at your arms pressing against the wall, one on each side of his head.
Even though he was the one cornered against the door, it was you who felt your own face burning, probably flushed after receiving such a rare wink from your boyfriend. Despite your composure slipping slightly, your hands stayed firmly pressed against the wall as your eyes roamed over Sans’s face — from his relaxed smile to the bright dots in his eyes.
“N-N-No, it’s not that, it’s just that—um…” You hadn’t expected to be this nervous when you came up with the plan, especially under Sans’s attentive gaze. “I-I…” You stammer once more before letting your eyes drop to the floor, focusing intently on it.
“C-Can I… see your soul? Please?” You never thought your voice could come out so softly, almost like a whisper meant to go unheard, timid and gentle.
You didn’t want to repeat the question, but after receiving no response—not even a half-hearted laugh — for a while, you glanced back up at his face, hoping to see his bony eyebrows furrowed in confusion or a hint of hesitation in his signature smile.
But all you see is a skull bathed in blue, with Sans’s eye sockets looking more widened than usual (was that even possible in a skeletal structure like his? Apparently, yes). As if mirroring him, your own eyes widen in surprise at seeing such an unusual expression on his typically relaxed face.
“What?” Unlike you, Sans spoke in a loud whisper. It seemed your question had completely unsettled him..
You inch closer to him, careful with your approach — as if you didn’t want to startle him further with your “unusual” actions. One of your hands glides down the door until it gently presses against Sans’s ketchup-stained shirt. Without realizing it, your face is now only inches from his, nearly brushing against him in a touchless caress.
“I want to see your soul…” you repeat, a bit louder this time, but still gentle and tinged with shyness. “I can show you mine first, if you’d like…” you add, gazing intently at the fuzzy lights within his eye sockets.
For a moment, you close your eyes, trying to muster the courage you had before. When you open them again, Sans is no longer in front of you — vanished like every other time you tried to ask that same question to him. All that’s left is the office door and the rapid thumping of your own heart.
Inevitably, you let out a long sigh, feeling the weight of defeat on your shoulders. You gently bump your head against the door, knowing that sooner or later, Sans would have to face you, and if he were a good boyfriend, he would answer your question with some decency.
This turned out worse than I thought, you think aloud as you step away from the door and return to the old sofa in your home — your solace after the failure of your meticulously planned (or at least, in your mind, meticulously planned) scheme.

I love the small redesigns! Lucida looks a bit scarier (which makes sense since Krampus is a scary guy), but still very cute and friendly (which makes sense since Lucida is a friendly person lol). I do like to think her older design may have been what she looked like when she was younger imo, before she became a teen and her teeth/horns started coming in.
Petyr looks much more like a puppet now imo. The segmented jaw not only helps give a puppet vibe, and gives an idea of how his jaw works, but it also now resembles the way Papyrus' mouth works.
Nephy now has a lot more Alphys influence (which is cool to see, as I've seen a lot of Alphyne kids that take more after Undyne), but still has a lot of traits from Undyne (the hair, mouth shape, being based off an aquatic animal, etc). All in all, their design is much more balanced out now! Great job! <3
THANK YOUUUUUU THATS WHAT I WAS GOING FOR!!!! LOVE AND JOYYY

Ceroba's Log: I was glad to see that Clover still had blood, this made it much easier to figure out what exactly happened. There is very little in the underground in the way of human medical procedures, even finding something as simple as the makeup of human blood is a long and arduous process. So while it was challenging to figure out what, if anything, was out of place, that made the obvious a much more satisfying find.
I do not have the capabilities to fully examine Clover, the only place where I can imagine there actually being what I would need is in Alphys’ lab, but I’m not taking the chance on the human half of Clover’s SOUL. But I am able to extrapolate from Chujin’s research, and my work on the serum.
Alphys’ determined the cause of Kanako’s falling down, and though she hasn’t told me about the other subjects, something tells me actually being able to fix something made all the difference for her. That still doesn’t excuse her keeping Kanako down there longer than she had to but I digress. The serum itself isn’t particularly dangerous, if anything it’s more of a dud, it makes me very happy that I didn’t go through with taking Clover’s soul, considering more likely than not, it would have amounted to nothing.
What I’ve learned from Alphys’ findings is that the trace amounts of determination found in the integrity SOUL attacked Kanako’s Soul directly. Since Kanako is a boss monster, she is able to take more determination before any unmanable side effects can occur. So by balancing out the amount of determination in her body and her soul, she was able to wake up. While I failed to create a serum to turn normal monsters into boss monsters, I appear to have found a way to give boss monsters similar effects to absorbing a human soul without expending the soul.
Of course, I have no way of replicating my research because I destroyed it after I took Clover in, and with it, any chance of even considering trying again. But my remaining notes are enough for me to create a theory on how Clover’s transformation occurred.
Some of Kanako’s essence stayed on the point of the syringe along with trace amounts of the serum containing both integrity and determination. Acting as a medium, integrity seems to have split Clover’s soul in two, a normally fatal occurrence, but the determination combined with Kanako’s essence allowed a monster soul to form in place of the severed half of Clover’s human soul.
I found particles in Clover’s blood and upon closer examination they are identical to the melted off matter of Kanako’s “Amalgamate” form. It appears to me that what once was a single spec of magical matter grew throughout Clover’s body using his existing determination as a fuel source, as integrity’s determination is what allowed it to last as long as it did in the first place.
So if these particles can be found throughout Clover’s body, getting around using his blood as transportation, all that remains to be found out is how Clover transformed overnight.
My theory is that my starting to teach Kanako magic a few weeks before the transformation is no coincidence. I’m going to ask Kanako if she noticed anything that was abnormal or something of note leading up to the transformation.
Edit: Kanako has informed me that the night before the transformation Clover had a bad dream. It wasn’t a nightmare, or at least, not a bad one. She said she could hear his heart racing as he tossed and turned. Perhaps Kanako had an aura of magic that she had called upon but never got the chance to use in our training and that had an impact on Clover. This combined with the bad dream caused an emotional response to interact with the magic. The magic was then channeled through the particles in his blood which manifested a physical representation of what he wanted most at that current moment: safety.
Now this might be wishful thinking, but if Clover associated either Kanako or I, or even both of us, as sources of safety and comfort, our Kitsune forms might provide that same comfort in a dream setting. This combined with a memory from his past created his current form, a kitsune that could be mistaken for my child, but with features from something that he saw on the surface.
I will continue monitoring him, but if I’m right, no action needs to be taken as he isn’t in danger.

S/O bridal carries skeleton. Main ten plz
Undertale Sans - He's chilling, very satisfied he has found a new way to walk across the house without moving. The hardest part will be to convince him to use his legs again after that now that he knows that you're strong enough to carry him like he weighs nothing. Good luck with that. He's not going to help you.
Undertale Papyrus - He sighs, defeated. You had to do that to impress Undyne, uh? Now you and Undyne are throwing Papyrus at each other to flex. Papyrus is just there, resigned to his fate, and patiently waiting for you two to be done. He keeps giving distress stares towards Alphys who is just recording the whole thing because what the hell can she even do.
Underswap Sans - He starts to squirm and trash around to get free but he didn't expect you to be this strong. After a few minutes of struggle, he gives up, arms crossed, sulking. You celebrate your victory, mostly because you know that's the only time it will work lol.
Underswap Papyrus - Portative cuddles? Count him in. He hugs you to not fall though. Hard. He's almost choking you lol. It's not that he doesn't trust you, but he feels better knowing you won't drop him this way.
Underfell Sans - He's not happy. But he loves you so he doesn't resist, but he's not happy and his face shows it a lot. You better reward him for this because he's making a huge effort to not bite your face off right now.
Underfell Papyrus - He starts to shriek angrily like he's getting murdered and struggles as you try to hold him above your head so he doesn't reach the floor. Edge bites your arm with each and every pointy tooth he has until you let go. You're going to have a mark for weeks lol. Worth it.
Horrortale Sans - You're struggling to maintain your balance. He's terrified to move honestly, so uncomfortable. He's clearly too big for you but he doesn't want to embarrass you more so he says nothing. But please, if you keep squeezing his ribcage, he swears he won't be able to breathe soon so let go? Please?
Horrortale Papyrus - Hell no, you're not carrying him. He's gentle but firm about it. His back hurts and it's going to make it worse so please let him on the ground, thank you.
Swapfell Sans - He sighs loudly and lets you do whatever you want with his body. However, he doesn't let go of his cup of coffee and keeps drinking it like it's absolutely a normal situation. As long as he can keep going with his day, he doesn't care.
Swapfell Papyrus - He lets you carry him around, but the second you say you're going to put him down now, he plays dead in your arms and refuses to get down. You are stuck with a dead heavy Rus in your arms and you can't do anything about it. The couch is too far to drop him in. After ten minutes though, you decide you have enough and couch or not, you drop him on the floor and leave lol. Rus acts like you murder him the rest of the day.
Fellswap Gold Sans - He hisses at you when you touch him as a warning, to tell you to back off. If you come back to try again, he claws your face. He warned you. He's really fine on the floor, thank you.
Fellswap Gold Papyrus - That's his new favorite way to travel. He wants to do only want and will make you feel guilty with sad puppy eyes every time you say no :D He trained you to carry him on demand and he's very proud of himself.

Tell us about Dill and Alexander! I kinda picture them in my head as Kermit and that blue eagle Muppet but gay and gamer/greasy mechanic. Is that where you got the idea? Is sburb's frog fascination gonna play into the story of these boyos?
oh what's that? you want to be the captive audience for a lore dump about my very special guys? completely unprompted and with total investment in everything i might have to say? well well, don't mind if i do!
SO, Dill Croaker and Alexander Falcon are members of a now-defunct group called The Falconers. they are modeled after Star Fox (the team) from Star Fox (the video games). we haven't seen Alex on screen yet, but here's @girlpillz's rendering of Dill for B1 verse 1, where Lenore Lehart shows off her sick bouncy ball skills for Dana Straten to get the attention of Dill.
Alex being a blue falcon, i imagine he looks legally distinct from Falco Lombardi from Star Fox (the video games; the team) albeit less cocky and attitudinous.
there are technical reasons for The Falconers' existence. going into 3.2B, i knew i wanted a secondary supporting cast in the margins capable of handling dirtywork off-screen. for instance, they're decrypting and analyzing Lenore's stolen witch data so the main cast doesn't have to worry about it, leaving us more time to luxuriate in what we're actually here for: feelings.
Star Fox 64 is my favorite game, so when it came time to come up with that supporting cast, the possibilities of a knockoff Star Fox team immediately sold me on the idea (especially since this is the only story where i will ever reasonably be able to get away with such a blatant act of self-indulgence. you wouldn't believe it from looking, but i don't actually do a lot of indulging myself with Godfeels. i try very hard to never throw things in without serious calculation. The Falconers are pretty much the only thing i've introduced that came as an inorganic external mandate of my own selfish making, and even then i've worked very hard to integrate them naturally). as a broken up four-person crew, they mirror the Upsilons-- and so, them helping the Falconers reunite in order to find Alphi and Edie gives these guys some juice. their backstory is a shadow of the Upsilons', and a useful point of comparison as the narrative plugs along. i could've made a girl Star Fox team, but frankly Godfeels is just so women-centered, so female-focused, so tgirl-transfixed that i figured it was about time to throw the boylikers a bone.
The Falconers are balanced as a calculated twist on the Star Fox team. the most immediate difference is that here, Alexander Falcon fills the role of Fox McCloud. he's the charismatic team leader, a little surly (especially these days) but good at his job and deeply committed to the care of his team. Dill Croaker is, obviously, only about five runs through the dryer away from Slippy Toad, and fills the same role. my reason for this is that everyone is mean to Slippy and they're wrong. Slippy is a brilliant engineer and programmer, why do you expect him to be an ace fighter pilot too? that's YOUR job, hotshot! Nintendo themselves have been all over the map with Slippy in terms of characterization, pretty much never getting him quite as right as he felt in 64. so, yeah, Dill is my take on Slippy: a clueless gamer frog who plays with a lot of edgelords but is himself impervious to their venom. he never cusses because he's a good boy, and he respects women.
Dill and Alex have lived together on Crime Planet for a long time. are they fucking? no, i don't believe they are. Dill strikes me as something of an ace king, and anyway i don't think he's Alex's type. mostly they work together in the shop and hang out doing bro stuff. maybe Alex lifts weights while Dill plays shitty space MOBAs. but all this begs the question: who is Alex's type?
as of the B1 solo we've learned a little bit about the other two Falconers. first there is Erol [last name unknown], the oldest member of the crew who's likely analogous to Peppy Hare. which leaves us with Yolo Sionnach. a lot of information can be implied about him from this exchange:
yes, a lot of information indeed. but as much as i would love to enumerate the implications, i must hold my tongue. i mean, i would type it all out, but i can't, because i'm literally using my fingers to hold my tongue in place so that i can't say the spoilers out loud
anyway, i like the muppet comparison. that wasn't what i had in mind at all, but now i'm imagining the Falconers as the puppets Nintendo used to advertise Star Fox Zero and........ ohhhh scope creep you saucy temptress
youtube
the Slippy slander is rampant! and that's to say nothing of the ad where muppet versions of Satoru Iwata, Shigeru Miyamoto, and Reggie Fils-Aime slowly transform into Peppy, Fox, and Falco respectively.
i can't say that Sburb/the Universe Engine have much to do with The Falconers' story. they're not godtier, they don't know anything about the UE, they are literally just space mercenary furries. they come from the Lemurian Star System, trained at the Academy on Lemuria, and worked in the Lemurian Sky Corps until starting their own independent outfit as contractors (which i imagine is a fairly common career path in a region racked by interplanetary war and rampant espionage). age-wise, they're in their mid 30s.
thank you for this wonderful question. no one ever asks about the other guys, and i am always dying to talk about the other guys.

This is the frisk design for my epilogue AU, Epitale. Here’s what the text says, if you can’t read it:
Frisk lives with Toriel in New New Home, and attends NNH High school. They work hard to balance school alongside their responsibilities as the Monster-Human ambassador. Sometimes the pressure of maintaining Monster-Human relations weighs on them, but it’s manageable with their family’s support. During the fight with Asriel, their soul underwent extreme stress from the repeated loads and from the fight itself. Thanks to the damage, they lost the ability to SAVE and RESET. No one but Sans and Alphys knows, and while neither is too concerned, they’ve been trying to find ways to fix it.

Depths in Despair; Megalosomnia
Deep Down Deep Part 2/2
Things don't pan out for the Good doctor the way he had hoped. And under a mountain of work, it's no wonder a Slate fell by the wayside.
Fun is what he would have had…. Had he the chance to.
Not long after she succumbed to his control, he brought her back to the lab and got her initially checked in. He took a few spare moments to check over her memories… Merely out of curiosity, to determine how long she evaded him. And found that what was going on in her head was far more concerning than he initially thought. If the voices that spoke to her weren’t signs something was off about this woman, her memories certainly would have told him. It was as if swiss cheese had a love child with patchwork. Many memories of things that he’d not believe were he not able to observe them in her mind. And so, so many significant gaps. Troublingly so. Memories of her life on the surface were rare, and far more frequent were memories that… Held familiar faces, and yet so foreign. Even those were addled with holes and gaps. It seemed that Sonia hadn’t been underground long, and her time wandering through it before meeting him was the most clear any of her memories were.
He’d dealt with subjects that had portions of their life locked away in their memories, as a result of traumas they had endured in life. It was always a case of finding what helped pull them forward, finding a key to that lock. This…? There were no locks to hide memories, there were no closed doors to memories too harsh to remember.
Just complete sizable absences and gaping holes where memories should have been. Nothing to tether one memory to another. As perplexing as it was to analyze and assess, he was interrupted by Alphys.
Something else demanded his attention more, which required he leave the new human to Cecilia to process further. Cecilia could handle it, after all. The blasted CORE. Another failure in sector B28-21. Always sector B28… If it wasn’t one problem there, it was another.
Of course, being part of the CORE that distorted atoms to radiate ambient magic throughout the underground? Made it one of the primary necessities to keep running.
If so much as one sector went down, it could throw the whole CORE out of balance and cause a catastrophic meltdown. If it wasn’t such a boon to have in the first place, he’d happily track down the person who designed it, and throttle them.
If anyone even remembered WHO designed the thing…
His last foray of frustrations towards the CORE’s creator, and desire to seek them out? Left him without any answers, and a week worth of time wasted for it.
Still, he wasted no time…
– … Because there was never any time to waste. Once the CORE was sorted out, which took him four days to narrow down and solve, due to juggling what other pressing issues he was presented with, there was another issue.
And another after that.
And another after that.
Resources distribution.
Five hours, two cups of coffee. One tasting flavorful and robust, the second tasting quite obviously as though the assistant who brought it to him reheated it in the microwave. He’d have words for them later.
Tracking movements and changes in the underground.
Two more births in Snowdin, fortunate news. A Falling Down in Waterfall, another lost to dwindling HoPe. Three moving from Hotland to Capitol.
Seven hours, six cups of coffee.
The first tasted so weak that Baggs questioned if he was drinking water and not coffee. The following three were of more serviceable quality. The remaining two tasted like tar, and were it not an invigorating tar, he’d have refused it. And Baggs made the decision that Casey was no longer allowed to bring him coffee after discovering he was responsible for preparing the last two. Bright as the man might be, he’s better suited to helping study the barrier than preparing coffee.
Keeping systems in check, ensuring security detail is up to par.
Two new humans were caught and transported to the lab. Cecilia reported that the two were significantly xenophobic, and hostile. Thus would be housed on Floor 18, Block 10. Block 10 was designated for more aggressive and dangerous humans, to be studied on how to rehabilitate or utilize even aggressive members of the species.
Twelve hours (until interruption). Sixteen cups of coffee.
The first five, typical. With a far more bitter flavor at the fifth. Noted.
The sixth. It took him twenty minutes to try his first sip, so focused on his work that he hadn’t taken a sip until then.
It felt like a heady jolt of energy flooded his body, the notes of the clearly fresh brew rising up, as if to sing to his senses. And the warmth as it melted into his magic thrived in his body, relaxing him far more than a cup of coffee typically did.
He’d not seen who brought it, but he did make note of the sound of their walking. It did sound different from the usual assistants who brought him his coffee, but he didn’t think it important at the time.
Perhaps one of the other scientists decided to brew him something nice. It couldn’t have been Alphys, as it had the lacking anxiety he could always taste in coffee prepared by her.
No matter, the identity of the one who made this would be revealed in the next cup, he was certain.
And disappointed with each proceeding cup brought to him over the hours.
Seventh, from the same pot, but not prepared and delivered by the same hands as the one before. He could tell by the intentions that bled into the brew. The assistant who delivered it unintentionally let their emotions seep in and altered the feeling within the coffee he drank.
Not the same. Not bad, but nowhere near as good as the prior mug.
The assistant, a young whimsun monster named Fen, had panicked over his expression of disappointment… But, he reassured them and sent them on their way. The eighth, to the thirteenth, much the same. Decent, but disappointing by comparison. Fortunately a fresh pot was brewed by the tenth.
Fourteenth cup of coffee, Baggs nearly spat it out. And demanded to know who prepared it, to find he was 13 minutes late to fuss at the one who concocted the nightmare that barely resembled coffee.
Fifteenth cup. Cecilia, It was fucking Cecilia.
Not the one who brewed bliss in a mug, but the one who concocted terrors unknown into a coffee.
He had the good fortune to be done sending out a U-mail to ‘recommend’ a security plan for Waterfall, when the fresh cup was placed down, ready for him to take his first sip of it. And nearly spat it out again, placed the cup down roughly, and turned towards the offender. Reddish hair, tied in a bun, eye bags that rivaled his own hidden beneath reading glasses, and a look that held more contempt for humankind than any Monster was capable of. And she was human.Perhaps humans simply don’t know how to not brew a cup of coffee that tastes like every agitation in their present mind.
“Cecilia, what is this supposed to be?” Perhaps his tone was far less reserved than usual, but he did imbibe something foul that masqueraded as coffee. The woman just looked at him flatly. Her response was equally as dead in tone as her gaze. “Coffee, sir.” She retorted, Baggs was no stranger to her sass. Usually it made days entertaining.
Those days were not ones he was served bad coffee. “My dear, did you even try a cup of that? That is death in a mug.” Baggs fussed.
Cecilia looked at the cup, and then at Baggs. Her expression was perplexed. He pried at her mind, to determine whether or not she realized she almost poisoned him. Only to find that she was genuinely confused. “... You mean that coffee isn’t supposed to taste like shit?” An exasperated sigh, and a shake of his head. “Cecilia, you are henceforth banned from preparing or bringing anyone coffee. That tastes so bitter, I’d dare not have another monster drink it, lest they dust on contact.” “Fine by me, sir.” Cecilia responded, before placing some papers on his already tall workload of information to analyze. “What is–” “The information regarding the new ones.” Cecilia sighed, before turning to walk away.
Baggs gave pause for a moment. New… Ah, right. Humans. “Oh, uh. Sir? There’s been a mag-lock failure on Floor 17, Block 8.” Baggs sputtered, shooting the woman a glare. “And you thought to mention this in passing, why?!” he blurted out.
Cecilia stared at him, before offering a shrug. “The one contained there is a non-issue. She’s not going to cause anyone problems.” If he didn’t trust Cecilia’s judgment when it came to her fellow humans, he’d have far more words for her.
But for her to make such a statement? Meant that the human contained in such a cell was likely terrified of her, and would make a whimsun look brave.
“Ugh… I’ll send a U-mail to request immediate work on it.” Baggs scoffed. “Don’t you mean E-mail?” The red-head looked at him, with a sly smirk on her face. Baggs certainly didn’t have the time nor desire to get into this with her again. “You’re dismissed, Cecilia.” “Understood, sir.” Cecilia smirked, before she absconded.
Likely to do her damn job and oversee Floor 16-18. And fortunately not to unleash terrors unbeknownst to monsterkind by trying to fix someone a drink. And it was imperative that he have that Mag-lock issue sorted out. Were a human to get out, and find a way out of the labs? It would be absolute chaos.
–
With another 11 U-Mails sent out, two specifically to make demands regarding the mag-lock, and one to Asgore as an update on matters that he wanted to know about. Another cup was brought to Baggs.
He had noted the click of heels upon the floor, and the cup being set down. With a heavy sigh, he took a drink of the fresh brew as the clicking of heels started again towards the door. The invigoration, the warmth– “WAIT!” Baggs nearly shot up as he called out… And spilled some of the blessed brew on himself in the process. He could mourn spilled bliss later. Barely catching a glimpse of the taller woman before casting his gaze downward at the spill on his labcoat in frustration. “M-Master!!” The clicks sped towards him, before the owner of them dropped to her knees. As a kerchief was very hastily applied by gentle hands to soak up as much of the spilled coffee. “Master, are you alright? Oh s-stars, you didn’t get burned, did you?? I’m so sorry…!” The woman’s voice was wrought with anxiety.
Stars, he should know her name, shouldn’t he? Especially with how wonderfully she addresses him… And perhaps stroked his ego just right.
“I– No, I’m fine. I merely wanted to–” Auburn brown hair, tied in a bun. Large glasses. Green eyes. Pale complexion.
“Sonia?”
“I– Y-Yes master?” She halted her fretting over his wellbeing to look up at him.
The human he brought in nearly a week ago. He didn’t immediately recognize her, she looked so different in formal attire. A white coat cinched tightly around her, accentuating her curves. A simple black pencil skirt, sheer pantyhose with black stockings on top. And a pair of white pumps.
Baggs found himself immediately remembering that he sorely needed to alleviate stress–
A rough clearing of his throat was necessary, business before pleasure, he reminded himself.
He still had to thoroughly examine her and ensure she wasn’t a risk, by… Ensuring she was loyal, before she was permitted to walk around the labs. Baggs kept his tone gentle, remembering how skittish the woman was when he had first met. Given that he hadn’t had the chance to fully condition her, it’s entirely likely she’d be just as nervous. “Aehm… How, did you get out?” Baggs softly queried.
Sonia bit her lip, and looked away meekly. “Um… I… A-Asked very nicely…?” “Mmm hmm…” His tone was that of disbelief. She began fidgeting with her hands. “O-Okay so um… There was an issue with my door… It uh… Doesn’t close like everyone else's…” Ah, so this was the person who had been designated to that cell. With such a timid disposition, it’s no wonder Cecilia let it slide. “But..! It made it so I could actually help out, a-and help out Ms. Cecilia! She’s scary a-at first, but she’s a good person. She even helped me get new clothes on my second day here..!” Sonia explained, a warm smile on her face.
That solved that mystery. Did Cecilia dress her that way on purpose, just to fuck with him?
“I see… And the coffee?” Sonia lit up with excitement, he could feel it from her. “Oh! Yes! See um… E-Earlier in the day there was some fuss regarding the coffee maker making a weird noise.. So I thoroughly cleaned it, checked it to e-ensure that there was nothing loose or damaged… Aaaand brewed a fresh batch, to test it~! Suffice to say, problem solved!” She beamed with pride, satisfied with her small victory.
That sort of satisfaction and fulfillment certainly explains how that earlier cup wound up so potent.
“A-and, well… Since I got to fix it, I… Wanted to deliver a cup specially for you…” Her voice shrunk so much, as she idly twirled a strand of her hair and averted her gaze.
Oh. Oh.How curious.
“Well, I HAD meant this cup, but it is nice to know that you’re the one who brought me coffee earlier.”
“Oh… This time? um! Ms. Cecilia requested a fresh batch of coffee. Something about you b-being in an awful mood! So I… Well. I wanted to make sure I made the best cup I could, to… Well, bring a little sunshine into your day?” Sonia looked up at him, with such a gentle and hopeful look.
“Well, then I personally shall–” It looked as though something clicked in her head, and the woman was back into an anxious rambling mess. “M-Master, am I in trouble? I k-know I’m not supposed to be out b-but I only wanted to help– I m-mean it’s OKAY if I’m in trouble, I promise I can handle it if I need to be p-punished. I d-don’t mean to tell you what to do, but if I’ve personally upset you, I–” “Sonia.” “Y-Yes Master.” A simple word, and the human woman fell quiet, wincing her eyes shut as she lowered her head.
Baggs cleared his throat. “While you are not in trouble for this, there are questions I have regarding… Well…” Baggs trailed off. Where to even start? It was a significant security risk for a human he personally hadn’t cleared to be running around. Gentle or not. Furthermore, being permitted to bring him coffee that they could have theoretically and literally tainted is something that can’t be overlooked...
“Well… I suppose those questions are more for Cecilia…” Baggs mused out loud, frowning.
“Then… What questions do you have for me, Master?” Sonia asked, tilting her head in confusion. The one that was confusing the moment she started talking to him.
Her apparent loyalty. “I… You seem so… Eager to call me ‘Master’.. And yet I’ve not asked you to. It piqued my curiosity.”
And Baggs would love to hear what manner of reasoning she would have for that. After all, he hadn’t really subjected her to the conditioning he’d need to for such loyalty to become second nature.
Sonia blushed, before looking down. “... I felt it.”
Baggs raised his browbone at the statement.
“When you silenced all those voices I… Felt it. Your magic… How it called to me. How it called for me to serve… To obey…” Sonia shivered a bit, her blush deepening.
A wry smirk grew on his face. “And you… Didn’t even try to fight it~?” Sonia looked up at him, with a frustrated pout at his accusation. That was expected.
“After all the good you’ve done me?!”
Her words? Were not. Baggs was taken aback, looking upon the human woman before him. It was possible he looked like a whimsun caught doing, well… Anything, with the expression of sheer shock on his face. “Since the day I woke up, everything has been loud. Everything has been loud for as long as I can remember, for all I can remember…!” Her voice was filled with pain and confusion. “I can breathe, I can think without h-having to worry about being overwhelmed by all the things I’m hearing that make no sense, I can make my own thoughts about whatever I see, without hearing twenty different voices loudly arguing over what choices I make and what things I say…” Sonia carried on, before looking up at him. The tears prickling at her eyes were visible, but it did not make their presence any less surprising to him.
“I’m thankful, Master. And I am happy to help you in any and every way I can. You’ve brought me something I never knew I needed. You brought me peace, Master. I only hope that I can even begin to return the favor.”
Baggs had conditioned many humans. His experiments required both willing and unwilling participants, and spanned many methods. All to further monsterkind’s safety and hopeful co-existence with mankind.
Even Cecilia, who despised her own species, required conditioning to become loyal to him. So he would know that she wouldn’t, couldn’t betray him. To have a human kneel before him on their own full volition, after a mere few hours of his magic several days ago? He’d have never considered it.
And yet, here one was.
Something like this was… Simply put, too good to be true.
And so he peered into her thoughts, there had to be some manner of plot something she was planning–
A memory. So close to the forefront, he could tell she was remembering it fondly.
-
An expanse of dark blues and blacks, splayed overhead, pricks and pins of white in the ceiling.
“... Y’know, before I met you, I… I always kinda took this for granted.”
Her voice, carrying on. Not echoed or reverberating in the room.
Chirps of crickets abound in the grass around her.
Another voice, deeper in tone. Familiar.
“heh… well, you coulda fooled me. you never took our stars for granite.”
Those… Were… Stars??
“Well–” a pause, before she snorted, and giggled. “Nice~... Well, there’s nothing wrong with feeling sedimental about yours. I mean, a dazzling ceiling full of sparkling gems? Kinda rocks~.”
“heh, not bad. but don’t be too rough on yourself. for you? a sight like this was just a stone’s throw for you to see.” the other voice responded.
Seems that Sonia and this other person had a sense of humor…
“Yeah, but you literally had to move– out of – a mountain to see this!” Sonia lightheartedly fussed.
“heh… and you had to fall into a mountain to see things crystal clear.” the other voice responded. “Yeah… Well…” She trailed off. A somber note in her voice. “At this rate, it’s like Sisyphus for you to even enjoy this.”
“... and it doesn’t stop being worth it. trust me, nothin’ peats this”
“Sans…?”
Wait… Had she known even back then that he’d be–
“yeah?”
Sonia looked over at the other person. A skeleton, with a blue hoodie, white t-shirt, and black basketball shorts laid lazily in the grass. His arms folded behind his head.
What….?? That… That looked so much like him, before he…
Sonia stared at him, staying silent for a few moments. “... sheesh, was it that bad?”
“... I promise you. No matter how many times you have to push that boulder back up…? You won’t ever have to do it alone again.”
“hey, now. don’t go promising things you might not be able to keep.” “I won’t promise you then… I’ll pumice you.” A look of surprise, before the both of them devolved into giggles.
“oh man, that was so bad…”
“Look, with a last name like ‘Slate’, you think I’d have to dig for rock jokes? I learned them real early.”
“.... like ‘archeology’ early or?” An exasperated gasp, before she looked over at him.
The skeleton started laughing. “Y.. You! I’m not that old!! I’m 27, going on 28! Not 27 going on 200!!” Sonia fussed. “you sure about that? how long have you been 27 going on 28?” He asked through laughs.
“You know that’s a loaded question! How am I supposed to keep track of how old I am if things keep RESETTING?” …!! She… Knew about that? Nevermind, she’s experienced that??
“heh, now you know why i took so long the first time you asked me, ‘sans, how old are you?’.” “Hmph!” Sonia fussed, before rolling over and pinning her hands on each side of the ground next to the skeleton’s head.
He… didn’t even flinch?
“oh, wouldja look at that. ‘view got even better.” the lazy smile tugged up more, as did his eyesockets.
“If I’m ancient Egyptian artifacts, then you’re dinosaur bones, you dork!” Sonia huffed. “... like… cretaceous period or triassic period? the difference there is pretty jurassic.” he gave a wink.
“... I mean it though… As long as I can be there for you? I will be. As long as I’m alive, you won’t have to face this eternal hell alone. I promise.” A firm sense of confidence and determination.
A soft sigh escaped the skeleton, as he looked up at her.
“... thank you, sonia… you… don’t know how much that means to me…”
“Master??”
“Master, are you alright???” -
“Master! Please, speak to me…!!”
Baggs gasped as he snapped back to reality. Stars, that memory was so vivid, it practically pulled him in… And left him with more questions than answers.
“Oh thank goodness. M-Master, you zoned out there for a moment… I was worried! D.. Did I offend you? Or… Oh stars, um… Listen, I… I don’t know what happened? B-But I’m here for you.” Sonia offered, her tears overflowing.
When did his vision get so blurry?
Was he…. How was he going to explain that one? “I… You’re fine, my dear. I was… Simply moved to tears by your display of such… Such inspiring loyalty.”
It wasn’t a complete lie.
“Oh… I.. Oh gosh, I… I didn’t think it was that special, but…” Sonia averted her gaze, shrinking a bit. “More special than you know…” Baggs gave pause, to compose himself.
“Now, you are not in trouble. However, there are procedures for handling new humans, as I’m sure you’re aware. To ensure that you’re in good health, and that you’re properly documented as safe to roam.”
Sonia blushed a bit. “O-Oh! Gosh… I’m so sorry… I-It’s been awhile, and I didn’t mean to skip any sort of line… I’m sorry.” She looked sheepishly guilty.
“No no, you’re fine. I’m the one who must conduct these procedures personally, and there were many things that came up of critical importance, and… Admittedly your processing fell by the wayside. But, rest assured. I’ll handle that as soon as I am able to.” Baggs explained, watching how her gaze fixed onto him as he spoke.
Fascinating. “Oh! So… I think I understand now. Thank you, Master. Shall I return to my cell and um… Remain there until further orders?” Sonia queried. He did need time to think about the new information he obtained from her. The surface… Somehow, someway, she had seen someone like him, with his name, on the surface… And they spoke of the RESETs…
“Yes, I think that would be perfect. Worry not, it won’t be much longer, pet.”
The last word slipped so easily from his mouth, he furrowed his brow as he realized what he said by mistake.
But he did not miss the squeak she made, or how her lip quivered and her flush deepened at that single three letter word.
Oh.
Well then. That explained her eagerness to call him such a title. “I… Y-Y-Yes, Master. I’ll be patient. I um, I hope you e-enjoy the coffee. I-If you ever need any when I’m able to roam, you n-need only say the words…” Sonia shakily stood up. With a coffee as resplendent as she prepares? Stars… The amount of work he could get done with ease…
“Oh, rest assured. I won’t hesitate to call upon you if I’m in need of a cup.” The warm smile and light giggle that escaped her was like sunshine. “You are dismissed.” Baggs calmly waved his hand. A simple nod, and he could hear Sonia’s heels clicking with vigor. “Don’t run in those, you’ll break your ankles.” He swiftly chided.
“Y-Yes, Master!”
And with that, his new pet– subject left.
Baggs sighed, there was certainly going to be much to study with her, he could tell. He returned to his chair, to finish what information he needed to dispense with the remaining U-mails. As he took a sip of his coffee, feeling that warmth and invigoration flood his body, he pondered a whirlwind of new questions and information to mull over.
Frankly, he’d been quite lucky that it was her cell that had the mag-lock failure. Had it remained in tact, he might not be blessed with such a reprieve from the usual, much less comforted from the catastrophe that was Cecilia’s coffee.
Upon consideration, added another question to the pile;
What sort of emotions did she feel when she made this coffee?

Transcript: More animal crossing headcanons (new horizons bc i never played the old ones)
Toriel likes Isabelle but in the mom way where it’s the only character she knows and she is perfectly fine with not learning about the other villagers/characters
sans never upgraded his tent into a house
Mettaton doesn’t really care for animal crossing, but he likes making clothes and loves the idea of having super popular/rare villagers and items, so he plays exclusively to have a 5 star island filled with villagers like Raymond and Audie to make people admire him
Asgore wouldn’t play, because he finds tending to his irl garden much more fun, but he does enjoy watching Asriel Frisk and Chara run around their islands.
Papyrus would turn part of his island into a game, similar to one I saw in a failboat video but I don’t remember which one. Very similar to mario party. He’d also really like the villagers that are like inspired by power rangers.
Undyne would have trouble finding the perfect balance of flowers and outside items required to get K.K. slider to visit and would get really frustrated trying to figure it out
Alphys has a 5 star island with a bunch of fancy terraforming and custom paths, and of course it’s all Mew Mew Kissy Cutie themed. She also definitely spoils all her friends too.
Grillby has a Brewster plush because “he just like me fr”
Mettaton also has a Pavé plush because “he just like me fr”

can I have some Storyshift head canons? It can be about anyone, but mainly focused on Chara, Asriel, King sans and some locations
Sorry it took me a while, but I was crazy busy the past few days. Regardless, you guys can always request headcanons. Short fics too if you guys feel like it, but I will get to those likely after the Christmas break.
Without further ado, storyshift headcanons time:
A big headcanon for me regarding Storishift!Asriel is that, unlike Papyrus in the original game, he would kill Frisk if they went down the genocide route. If I remember correctly, a big thing about Storyshift was that the characters' personalities were unchanged, only their roles were swapped around. And, while Asriel himself was never particularly violent in the game (literally holding Chara back from murdering the humans who were hurting them) Flowey was, and he still is part of Asriel. So yeah, he would not kill Frisk in any other case, but if they chose to go down the genocide path he'd show them that he's also willing to be merciless when needed.
In the Frosted Fields, the gentle snow from the Snowdin area in the original game is replaced with violent hail. So it goes without saying that the buildings in Flurriville are built to be quite sturdy, with metal roofs to resist this particularly nasty weather. The monsters found in this area also have higher HP than their original counterparts.
Storyshift Chara does not have a condiment of choice that can replace ketchup, mostly as they are not allowed in Grillbys because, due to the fact that most people are convinced that they're just Asriel's imaginary friend and that they don't have any official documents, their age cannot be verified. One may think that they're addicted to chocolate, but that too is a rarity in the underground, so no, they really just have a pretty regular and balanced diet.
New Hope is far more colorful than New Home. Have your guys seen Sans' and Papyrus' house? No way he'd let that place turn so gray and depressing. It's a lively place, probably with quite a few comedy clubs. Sans may not be doing great in the role of King (not that he was doing much better in the role of Judge) but hiding his depression with humor and practical jokes is his whole thing. It would be reflected in the city he established.
Wetland to me also looks far more like a swamp than the original. There are several mud pits throughout it that the Player/Frisk has to figure out how to avoid. And that helps to make the chase scene (where you'd be escaping from Toriel while she's kinda trying but mostly purposefully failing to roast you with fireballs) similarly as difficult as it is in Undertale.
Sans also is a far more present King than Asgore is. The Player still wouldn't encounter him before the Barrier, but they can meet some extra lines of dialogue about him being a regular at different comedy clubs, and even about him visiting Grillby's and being spotted near the old ruin door (he may be covering Asgore's role, but he's still Sans, and he's still his brother's biggest fan. Papyrus may be steadfast in his decision, but that doesn't mean that Sans isn't gonna go mope and beg for the rest of eternity)
Chara is a much harder opponent than OG Sans, and they will fight the Player even if they don't go full genocide. If the player kills either Toriel or Asriel (Asgore isn't an option much like Alphys isn't in the OG game), Chara is fighting them. And, unfortunately, they remember all of the player's actions and the fight gets progressively more difficult with each new death. They cannot SAVE, LOAD, or RESET as they are not the most determined in the Underground, so they will die if killed, but they do make Frisk's life an absolute Hell.
Chara isn't really officially the Judge (they're still too young for the role, although they are training for it), they're mostly allowed in the castle because Sans functions as theirs and Asriel's unofficial uncle. They get family privileges. Sans notably doesn't know that Chara is fighting Frisk when they are, he ordered for them to go hide in any scenario in which they do, but Chara didn't listen.
