Famously when Deepa Mehta’s Fire came out in India, the Shiva Sena protested it. It was about a lesbian couple, the women were named Radha (same name as Krishna’s wife, very common) and Sita (same name as Rama’s wife, very common). So when the Shiv Sena protested it, Bal Thackeray eventually came out and said ‘well, we’ll allow the movie, immoral as it is: we only demand one change: change the women’s names to two of the wives of [the Prophet].’
Did you know that? Have you heard of the movie? seen it? Do you know what the Shiv Sena was? What it became? Judging believability my god

colour of gods anon here,
had more points to add to what i said, lord Ram, lord Krishna, lord Vishnu and lord Shiva even ( though it is debatable) are all technically black. i looked into it more after i saw hindulivesmatter mention lord rama to be black and i looked into it cause i had never heard that. and i found that back in the days they'd use a blue dye that was dark enough to be considered black to paint all these gods. eventually due to weathering the paints turned to a lighter shade of blue. while some say blue is the colour of knowledge, peace and calmness and that might be a reason why they're shown to be blue, lord vishnu himself has been mentioned to be "megha varnam" which again means one of the colour as the rain clouds. I'd like to add that this is different from lord Shiva's "neelakanta" thing which does say his neck is blur and that is correct because of the poison of the amrit thing.
again, i didn't mean to be disrespectful or anything and i mention this cause ik tumblr has enough hinduphobic bigots, I'm a proud and curious hindu lol, willing to learn more about my religion
You are write about it all being debatable.
The one that’s mostly agreeable is Sri Ram. He was certainly not fair skinned. Now I read it in Hindi but the best way I can translate it is “Lustrous”; this is how Muni Narada describes Prabhu’s skin colour in Bal Kanda.
I looked it up and it is supposed to mean dark. Goswami Tulsidas concurs on that (Sahaj Sundar Sawaro) though he uses “sawaro”, which leaves ambiguity between Dark skin and dusky skin.
Sri Vishnu’s complexion is pretty debatable. While Ramayan refers to it as Neela Megha Shyam yet again, other Scriptures say that he is blue as the Ocean, Ksheer Sagar in particular.
I personally find myself believing the second iteration for following reasons:
His skin tone being equated to an ocean is a hint at his nature; which is vast and tranquil, unmoved by human but also capable of utter destruction.
He is known as Pitambar dhari (he who adorns himself with the yellow garments) you will see this in depictions of Narayan in Vaikunth, and on Sri Ram and Sri Krishna. The Complementary, or opposite colour to yellow is Blue. This explains his affinity to yellow in a more logical sense and creates a sense of balance.
Neel is, like most other words in Sanskrit, is a homonym. Its other meaning is indeed blue. So “dark blue like rain clouds” is a possibility in this case.
As for Shiv ji, Vishnu bhagwan calls him “Karpur Gauram” (As fair as Camphor) so that’s just that. His throat is blue but his overall complexion is almost white. His Bhairav avatars on the other hand are pitch-black.

Independence Day Speech  2024
Independence Day 2024 Speech
Respected principal, teachers and my dear friends, today, we gather here to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of our nation. As we observe the  anniversary of the liberation of our nation from British colonial rule, our hearts are filled with pride and gratitude for the sacrifices of our freedom fighters who fought bravely for our liberty and our rights.
The British ruled our nation for 200 years. They had come to India for trade and commerce but instead, they looted India and exploited its people. India became an independent country on August 15, 1947, because our ancestors fought for centuries.
Independence Day Speech 2024 in 200 Words
Respected principal, teachers and my dear friends, Independence Day is celebrated on August 15. This day marks the nation’s liberation from the British colonial rule after a long struggle. On this day, we pay tribute to the brave souls who laid down their lives and fought valiantly for the freedom we cherish today. Independence Day is a solemn occasion of national pride and unity.
Independence Day is a glorious occasion when people come together to cherish the journey of our nation and pledge to uphold the values of justice, liberty and equality. As a nation, our unity and diversity are our greatest strengths. The freedom that we enjoy today came as a result of the sacrifices of our valiant freedom fighters.
This freedom was achieved after countless movements such as the Civil Disobedience movement. The nation would not have attained independence, had it not been for notable freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and many others.
On this Independence Day, let us come together to cherish this occasion and work towards building a nation which is united and democratic.

About Lord Krishna
Krishna is a major deity in Hinduism, widely revered as the eighth avatar of Vishnu and also as the Supreme God in his own right. He is central to many Hindu traditions and is worshipped across various cultures in India and beyond. Here is a comprehensive overview of Krishna:
Key Aspects of Krishna:
Birth and Early Life:
Birthplace: Krishna was born in Mathura, in a prison cell where his parents, Vasudeva and Devaki, were imprisoned by Devaki's brother, King Kansa.
Birth Event: Krishna's birth is celebrated as Janmashtami. According to mythology, he was born during a tumultuous period when the earth was overburdened by evil rulers.
Childhood: Krishna was taken to Gokul, where he was raised by his foster parents, Nanda and Yashoda. His childhood is famous for his playful pranks, such as stealing butter and playing with the Gopis (cowherd girls).
Youth and Adventures:
Miracles and Feats: Krishna's youth is filled with numerous miraculous feats, such as lifting the Govardhan Hill to protect the villagers from torrential rains and subduing the serpent Kaliya.
Role in Mahabharata: Krishna played a crucial role in the Mahabharata, particularly in the Kurukshetra War. He was the charioteer and guide for the Pandava prince Arjuna.
Teachings and Philosophy:
Bhagavad Gita: One of the most important texts in Hindu philosophy, the Bhagavad Gita, is a conversation between Krishna and Arjuna. It addresses key philosophical and theological issues and outlines the paths to righteousness and devotion.
Teachings: Krishna's teachings emphasize Dharma (duty/righteousness), Bhakti (devotion), and Karma (action).
Worship and Festivals:
Forms of Worship: Krishna is worshipped in various forms, including as a mischievous child (Bal Krishna), a divine lover (Shri Krishna), and a wise king (Dwarkadhish).
Festivals: Key festivals include Janmashtami (celebrating his birth) and Holi (the festival of colors, which has connections to Krishna's playful nature).
Iconography and Depictions:
Appearance: Krishna is often depicted with blue or dark skin, playing a flute (symbolizing divine music and love), and wearing peacock feathers in his crown.
Symbols: Common symbols associated with Krishna include the flute, the cow, and the lotus flower.
Influence and Legacy:
Cultural Impact: Krishna has a profound influence on Indian culture, art, music, and literature. His stories are recounted in texts like the Bhagavata Purana and the Mahabharata.
Global Impact: Krishna's teachings and philosophy have also influenced global spirituality, with movements like the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) promoting his message worldwide.
Krishna's legacy continues to inspire millions of devotees and has a lasting impact on spiritual, cultural, and social aspects of life.

Bal Gopal
"Come back here, kanha!"Yashoda yelled as she chased krishna with a stick in her hand.
"No maiya!",the young boy ran, giggling. No one could ever catch him,he was beyond the universe, after all! But of course, his mother could catch him.Kanhaiyya slowed down and Yashoda got a hold of him. She twisted his ears and raised the stick as a warning. Little kanhaiyya cringed with his eyes shut.Yashoda's eyes softened at the sight of her child's fear.
"Oh kanha, what will be left for me in this world if you start being afraid of me",She said, bending down to hug him.
"He isn't normal! He is divine" Everyone said.
"He is just my child" she replied.
When he slayed Putana as a baby, "He is just my child",she said. When he opened his mouth, showing the entire universe to her, "He is just my child",She said. When he danced on the head of Kaliya naag, when he lift the entire Govardhan parvat on his finger, "He is just my child",She said.
She hugged him tight,"He is just my child",She thought.
