So I'm reading the bnha manga and I've reached where they're moving into the dorms and I'm so confused because did Bakugo just... mug Kaminari? So that he had money to make Kiri feel better? Or am I missing something? What happened behind the bush?

It was his own money! I mean, of course it was, it’s something he’s doing specifically to lift Kirishima’s mood, why would Kirishima be happy to see Kaminari being stolen from (and why would Bakugou steal even, it’s Bakugou we’re talking about, have more faith in his respect for the law anon haha) - somehow that scene has been confusing a lot of readers tho, enough that Horikoshi had to add a line in the volume version of the chapter in which Bakugou straight out says the money is his

I dunno what is it exactly that Bakugou did behind the bush to make Kaminari short circuit, but the point of it was to lift the general mood of the class making them laugh and (probably) to distract them from his giving the money to Kirishima to begin with, like, that was awkward enough without the whole class watching them lbr.

This probably makes more sense once you consider the fact that Bakugou feels responsible for the general (specifically Kirishima’s) low mood, actually. The money probably was also his very awkward way of saying thank you, so, again, why would he even use stolen money for it, that just makes no sense now does it

That’s what most people seem to like to think, and if that’s how you wanna see it then go for it! But for one, it’s not canon since it hasn’t been stated anywhere that Bakugou got the info from Kaminari, I’m not even 100% sure the translation in which he mentions he got the info from someone was correct since only one version of the translation has that line in it. There’s also how there’s no logical reason why Kaminari should know about the goggles to begin with, he didn’t even know Kirishima and the rest had gone to rescue Bakugou till Aizawa mentioned it. And to me this also makes little to no sense because it implies that Bakugou knew about the goggles already, but waited till he could get his hands on Kaminari to find out about how much money was spent on them? To be completely honest to me it makes more sense if he either heard about it from Deku/anyone in the rescue team (since they knew both about the goggles and how much they cost) or if he saw them in Kirishima’s hand and looked it up for himself. It’s just a supposition, though

This is honest to god one of the thoughts that keep me up at night. Considering how black that boy’s hair is, the dye he uses HAS to be semi-permanent pigment, permanent dye just doesn’t turn out that brilliant - pigment is gonna turn the water red so fast and fade even faster so the boy must be using it to fix the color more or less any shower he takes, how the hell has no one noticed he’s dyed yet???

This is actually what brought me to consider the possibility of dye jobs being done by people why color-altering quirks, actually. Hello, I'm a BKDK stan here, and I'm have been stalking this blog for a while to read why you guys hate Bakugou. It's very interesting to me for now. There is a few things I would like to highlights since I saw some anons commenting on some certain subjects that I thought was interesting. I don't know if you guy only keep your hate of bakugou to yourself or going around telling it to people who like bkdk just because you feel the need to. Since if you did the later, I could only say that you guys are more trolls than people who just happens to hate a character. If not, than you can hate on him however you want because hey, you can and you have reasons to. But seriously, if you go out your way, go to a specific blog where people are enjoying what might not be your cup of tea or which you feel wrong about (but the things they are enjoying aren't defying any laws), just to go and voice your opinions and not let them enjoy their hobbies. Then, at that point, it is on you guys for actively trying to cause drama, vice versa for bkdk stans. To be real here, I felt a need to voice my opinions about this only because I want to truly see how you guys would react to this and make a quick reminder (due to me seeing a few anons being double standards about this). So, please don't hold double standards (not being able to take opinions of people who does like bakugou's character writing despite wanting them to listen to your's points,etc.) and stereotyping a bunch of people together (if you like bkdk you must be having a thing for abusive bastards, bad boy mthfckers that do no good,etc, for example), and just keep enjoying what you do lawfully. Keep hating and liking whoever you want, but please be civil about it.

But his rule book was always in hand when he gave a good scolding, and that always seemed so silly. He was used to creating rules and breaking them. And then, creating new ones.

"Those books are in the wrong order," "Are you so stupid that you can't organize those containers properly, dumbass?" The scoldings went on and on, with each unexpected visit. In any case, it looked like he was a crazy man changing his mind all the time. As a result, you organized the books and containers in such a way that he left you alone. However, the next time you received a visit from the judge (who looked more like some lazy man, in your opinion), he reorganized the books, again.

In your desperate efforts to get Bakugou into trouble, to beg him to stop, and in some way keep your job away from him, he claimed that it was merely his perfectionism attacking him, that nothing terrible had happened. According to Izuku, the blonde was just acting like that to get your attention. It's like a silly little boy picking on a girl and pulling on her hair when he's in love with her.

So collaborating with him will likely give the man what he wants, and he will stop. That's it. The perfect plan.

With ever single bow the villain weakening and seeing how much more he will loose

The villain having enough aimed a fatal blow at you but you countered

The attack not only returning back to him but doubling with your force

In a second he was down as silence hit until an uproar of screams by the crowd

Opening your eyes as you lay in the rubble you open your eyes to see curls of green

Izuku arriving at the scene and holy shit he had a waterfall in each eye

Reaching out for his hand you clasp yours over his. 

“Then why don’t we go out and celebrate this victory with dinner?”

“Together? Like alone?” You hum in response as he turns an even brighter red. With a big breath, he finally looks at you in the eyes. A blush still evident on his cheeks “That sounds amazing.”

Katsuki Bakugo

He was on his day off as you went to the agency

Using his day to the fullest he spends the day mindlessly watching t.v

Until he switches to the news channel

Anyway, for one, I feel like his burning desire to step out of Endeavor’s shadow is one big givewaway of how well he’d fit into slytherin. (Sorta like Albus’ complex towards Harry, if you read TCC?)

Then there’s the fact that they boy can be a cunning little shit at times :’D During the obstacle race at the sports festival, he froze the giant robots mid-step so that they would lose their balance and fall down, effectively blocking the way for everyone else. Cleverness and resourcefulness are also slytherin traits. 

Plus, he has a penchant for leadership: I know that this is mostly the result of Endeavor’s influence, but he didn’t even stop for a second to consider that Yaoyorozu might have a good plan to face Aizawa. He just assumed leadership and expected her to be okay with it. This is a little controversial for me too, because I don’t think at all that Shouto did it on purpose or with any malice. He simply knows that he’s good at what he does (it’s a mere observation of his skills that comes after being told all his life that he’s a span above everyone else because he’s Endeavor’s masterpiece, brought to life to be the number one. Shouto obviously rejects the notion of being better than anyone else on principle, but he does show self-awareness about how different his reaction-time and skills are from all of his classmates’)

Then there’s the determination. This one might as well be his dominant trait. He devoted his entire life to proving Endeavor wrong. If that’s not determination, I don’t know what it is :’D 

Last but not least: fraternity. He got into trouble with the law twice, to save Iida and Bakugou respectively.

A lot of people have mentioned that in the tags/under the post and that makes me!!! super happy!!!! Good Omens is one of my fav books and Crowley one of my fav characters, so the comment feels nice! I wasn’t specifically thinking about them when drawing it, but possibly a bit I was influenced anyway!! I wonder if what made everyone think about them was Kiri’s sunglasses? It’s not noticeable but I did give him glowing eyes too after all haha

Never thought of it tbh, but at this point I’m pretty sure with a lot of work on Baku’s part they’d be able to stick together long enough! He wouldn’t find it comfortable but they’d def be one of the strongest three-people-fusions in the class - not the strongest, tho, since they all have the same sort of straightforward offensive power when it comes to their quirks, I think I could find three people who’d make a stronger fusion... Baku Kiri and Momo, for example, would be even more impressive imho! Since all their quirks cover a different field, and their minds/personalities mesh well enough to have the right amount of planning and instinctive reaction/self-preservation and safety of others/pride and self-doubt/lawfulness and chaotic acting and so on. Even just as a team, without counting them as a fusion, I think they’d make one of the most balanced ones! Compared to that putting Todo Deku and Baku in the same place is just a recipe for disaster more often than not haha

It’s why I didn’t outright have Kiri mention any idea, I got no clue myself where he was going with it haha it’d be cool if his hero name were Ground Zero, because it’d mix well with Red Riot imho (Red Zero or Ground Riot or Red Ground, they all sound nice!) but what if Baku’s hero name ends up just being Katsuki, after all? How do you mix that with Red Riot? (the answer is Red Victory, or Akatsu!! from akai (red) + katsu !! ngl I’ve thought about this a lot lmao) anyway so many possibilities so little known facts!

HECK anon sorry but nothing like this would happen ever as long as I’m the one writing the AU! For three main reasons! One, I don’t think Deku is traumatized at all! His relationship with Baku at the moment is actually pretty damn neat and on equal footing, you go you two, growing so much!! Two, Baku and Todo are friends!!! And Todo would never be a dick to Baku instead of just talking to him, if he had a problem with him!! Three, even if one and two weren’t true, Deku has no need for knights in shining armor fighting his battles for him!! He’s a strong independent boy and if he hasn’t fought Baku over this it’s probs cause he doesn’t want anyone to fight him over it!!! Also in this specific AU Todo and Deku aren’t dating, so the scenario doesn’t work for me! Sorry!

I’m not gonna draw any other switch with other students, because before settling on Baku and Todo I went through a lot of possibilities and came to the conclusion that nothing would be as funny as Baku and Todo switched are (or at least nothing Horikoshi hasn’t already done himself lmao) so there’s that. I might draw more of them switched, but to be honest with you the only idea with that concept I have right now is Bakugou forgetting he’s suddenly taller and continuously walking into things around the dorms, so there’s that as well hahaha

In Bakugou’s defense, Kirishima had told him multiple times that he was always welcome in his home. His mothers had echoed the sentiment, and really people shouldn’t say anything unless they were expecting to be held to their word — which they were. They just weren’t thinking Bakugou would take them up on their offer so late at night.

Admittedly, it wasn’t atrociously late, like past midnight. More around 10pm, which, while still too late to be socially acceptable, at least wasn’t so bad as to immediately alarm anyone. But still, it was a shock. He was just there. Standing in the doorway, wrapped up in a coat with his hands stuffed in his pockets and his face turned down into his collar.

Kirishima Akane, a lithe woman with long, dark hair, was the one that opened the door. She blinked down at the boy, then glanced back at her son, seated in the living room. “Eijirou…?” She asked.

“Ummm,” he started as he got up, unsure if he should be confused or concerned. “I wasn’t expecting — Bakugou?” His mom stepped aside to let him handle it, giving them a respectful distance while still remaining in earshot. “What’s up? You didn’t call, did you?”

Bakugou’s eyes lifted. The fact that he hadn’t been meeting Kirishima’s gaze in the first place made him worry his lower lip. “Forgot my phone,” he said, voice gruff. “I need a place to stay the night. If you can’t, it’s fine, I’ll find someplace else.”

Kirishima’s eyes widened, blurting, “No, no, of course you can — mom?” His eyes were huge and pleading.Akane put a hand on his shoulder. “Of course you can stay, Katsuki. It’s freezing out there, come inside.”

They shuffled back, letting Bakugou tromp inside with a mumble of thanks. Kirishima reached to take his bag, only raising his eyebrows when Bakugou first tried to jerk it away from him. Relinquishing the bag, Bakugou stooped down to undo his boots.

“Let me go tell Keiko you’re here,” Akane said, excusing herself for the moment as she disappeared upstairs.

Kirishima turned his head, giving Bakugou a small grin. “You’ve never stayed the night before,” he commented, beckoning for him to follow him up the stairs. “Man, it’s been years since I’ve had a sleepover! Dorms don’t count.”

Bakugou grunted. Which was… something. It didn’t make him feel any better, the quiet unnerving coming from him.

Kirishima dropped the duffel bag just inside his room. It wasn’t heavy, despite looking like it was stuffed full. With clothes was his best guess, judging by the dull noise it made when it hit the floor. “Ah, we don’t really have a spare bed,” Kirishima mentioned, scratching at his neck. “You okay with sharing?”

Bakugou’s jaw tightened. “I can sleep on the floor,” he mumbled.

“I mean you can but then by good host laws I’m gonna have to as well.” Kirishima rolled his eyes. “Options, man. You take the bed and I sleep on the floor, we both sleep on the floor, or we share the bed. But my moms are gonna think I’m some kind of a hooligan if I don’t let our guest have a bed.” He grinned, not quite seeing where Bakugou’s sudden reservations were coming from. His bed was more than large enough for two. And, it wasn’t like it would be the first time they’d shared.  

Bakugou didn’t seem to share his humor, though, his brow only knitting tighter. “Yeah, but I’m not exactly a fucking guest, am I?” He grimaced. “That sure as hell isn’t what I’d call some dickbag barging in at fucking — ten thirty at night.”

Bakugou was a funny guy, Kirishima mused. He had no trouble cussing at strangers, but god forbid he intrude in another person’s house. It wasn’t an intrusion, of course. “I mean yeah,” he agreed amiably, “but that doesn’t apply to you, man. You’re always welcome here.”

It got a proper reaction out of him at last, Bakugou ducking his head and glaring at Kirishima like he was trying to bore holes in his forehead with just his eyes. Kirishima knew the to mean I don’t know how to handle affection so I’m just going to pretend to be tough and ignore it. Probably not in quite so many words. More cursing, definitely. But some amount of creative liberties were required when translating Bakugou for the masses.

There was a rap on the doorframe, and both boys looked up. Kirishima smiled at his ma, Bakugou giving a jerky nod of greeting.

Keiko was an opposite to her wife in nearly every way: tall where Akane was short, broad where she was slim, her hair cropped and dyed the same brilliant red as Eijirou’s. “Nice to see you, Katsuki,” she greeted, flashing an enormous grin. “You eaten yet?”

And while most were thrown by the sight of Kirishima’s ma, Bakugou didn’t even bat an eye. Maybe it was because his own household was just as unorthodox, though less in aesthetic and more in mannerisms. “No,” he admitted.

“Well we’ve got gyudon,” she offered. “It hurts my pride as a chef to give you leftovers, but unfortunately we need to go shopping.”

“We,” Kirishima repeated, dubious. Because, as the main cook in the household, it was his ma’s job to do the grocery shopping.

“Just for that, boy, I’m sending you on the next trip.” She wagged a finger at him. “You’re lugging all those heavy groceries from the store to here on your own.”

“I could do it,” he pointed out.

She nodded solemnly. “I know you could, and I’m proud.”

Kirishima’s drawn out, “Maaaa,” was more for show than any real embarrassment. He’d never felt ashamed of his mothers’ affection, and never planned to be.

Bakugou was quiet through the entire exchange. Kirishima sent him a curious glance — this was typically his cue to deliver some kind of an insincere jab or start groaning about how much sappiness he could bear before wanting to explode his own skull. There was nothing. Just this silent flicker of his eyes, between Kirishima and his ma.

“Well, I could do with some leftovers,” Kirishima chimed in, which was a partial truth. He wasn’t really all that hungry, but he also knew Bakugou wouldn’t accept anything without prompting. “C’mon, Bakugou, we just made it today so it’s still pretty fresh!”

Akane and Keiko didn’t eat, but joined them at the table. Kirishima only warmed a small portion for himself, the rest scraped into a bowl for Bakugou. He set both bowls down, sliding into the chair beside Bakugou’s. Bakugou didn’t move, though.

Kirishima gave him a curious glance. Bakugou avoided his gaze, head turning subtly away.

“Katsuki?” Akane prompted.

Beneath the table, Kirishima saw Bakugou’s nails digging into his leg. He took his hand without a word, feeling him first tense and then grip back as though Kirishima were a lifeline out at sea. “Aren’t any of you going to ask?” He demanded, his head turning between the three of them.

“Ask you what now?” Keiko cocked her head, though Kirishima knew she, and everybody else at the table, knew exactly what Bakugou was talking about.

“Why I’m here?” He gritted his teeth. “Why I showed up at ten-fucking-thirty at night?”

“Do you want to tell us?” Akane asked, a genuine question. “Of course we’re wondering, Katsuki, but it’s up to you if you want us to know.”

Beneath the table, Kirishima thumbed over the back of Bakugou’s palm. His heart twisted at the look on Bakugou’s face, at the curl of his mouth that looked like anger but sounded like grief. If he could, if Bakugou would let him, he would press against him and into him and wind so completely around him that he wouldn’t have to be afraid of anyone seeing him break.

For now he could hold his hand, and smooth the tremors from his fingers.

Bakugou swallowed. It was easier for him when he was told to do something — then it was only a matter of obey or rebel. When offered a choice, a froze.

“I got in a fight with my mom,” He started, haltingly. “And she kicked me out.”

It wasn’t surprising. Still, Kirishima closed his eyes, wishing for the life of him he could say otherwise. But he’d met the Bakugou family, protective and loving and destructive they all were. Bakugou was a smaller, more volatile version of his mother and when both of their fuses were lit, it left nothing but chaos behind.

He wasn’t sure how to feel, knowing that Bakugou traveled to his house, just betting on the belief they’d take him in. It wasn’t a terrible trip from the Shizuoka prefecture to Chiba, but two and a half hours covered a lot of land by train. He was a long way from home.

Akane let out a small sigh, reaching to set her hand on Keiko’s arm as the woman began to bristle. Kirishima knew his ma to be far more exuberant in her emotions than his mom, and the pinching of her expression suggested an outburst that wouldn’t be well received at the moment. “Well, Katsuki, you can stay with us as long as you need, alright? But I will have to call Mitsuki. I’m sure she’s worried sick right now.”

Bakugou gave a scornful growl. It got him a warning look from Akane but little else as she excused herself into the next room, phone in hand.

Keiko regarded him for a moment. “I’m glad you came here, kiddo,” she said at last. Grinning, she added, “Eijirou wouldn’t stop talking about you. Maybe now we’ll get some peace and —”

“Ma, please,” Kirishima groaned, pushing his face into his free hand.

A small noise left Bakugou. A laugh, he realized, quiet and raspy but undoubtedly a laugh. Kirishima straightened up and beamed.

“I need a camera,” Keiko murmured to herself, patting her pockets down. Kirishima hurriedly stuffed his mouth with food, and motioned for Bakugou to do the same.

Late as it was, his mothers allowed them to just put the bowls in the sink for the night. “We have extra toothbrushes,” Keiko told Bakugou, before they went upstairs. “Eiji always goes through them too quickly.”

“Guess he would, with those freaky fucking shark teeth,” Bakugou snorted. Kirishima only clicked them at him, lips pulled back to show off both rows, and broke into guffaws when Bakugou’s eyes widened and he looked away. His grin died when he remembered his ma, who was staring at them with both her eyebrows raised.

“...Leave the door open, Eijirou.”

“Ma!”

They did not leave the door open, Kirishima’s ears burning as he listened to his ma sniggering outside the door. “God,” he groaned, “I love them but. Why?”

“I’d trade you.” Bakugou’s face was vicious. He dropped onto Kirishima’s bed, jaw working. “I wouldn’t mind saying good fucking riddance to mine.”

Kirishima blinked slowly at him, then approached with a small sigh, lowering himself down beside Bakugou. Their arms touched. “You don’t mean that,” he said.

“Wanna fucking bet?” There was venom in Bakugou’s voice, the kind that made your blood boil in your veins. “That old hag kicking me out like I’m some stray that pissed on the carpet too much. I’ll fucking —”

— kill her he didn’t say, his mouth twisting closed on the words. Bakugou just snarled, explosions popping in his hands and smoke billowing between his fingers. “I can’t fucking believe her,” he hissed instead.

It was surprisingly truthful. That was what made his words spit with hatred. Betrayal was a pill that burned all the way down and left bitterness heavy on the tongue. Kirishima knew that Bakugou didn’t always get along with his parents, that as obvious as his love for them was he didn’t always have patience with his father, or checked his temper with his mother. And sometimes it was the other way around, Mitsuki making an offhand remark about her son that left Kirishima faltering, the idea of his own mothers voicing the same words about him curdling in his gut. Masaru did not make these comments quite so often, but he listened to his wife when she did, and never spoke up in his son’s defense.

Kirishima liked the Bakugous, but sometimes he wondered if they knew the effect of their own words.

“Hey, Bakugou,” he started, waiting for his red eyes to turn to meet his own. “Have you tried talking with your parents about this stuff? Like, how you’re feeling, and why.”

He sneered. “There’s no fancy reason why, shitty-hair. It’s just who I fucking am. A good for nothing son, as the hag said.”

Kirishima frowned at him, tentatively putting a hand on his leg and leaning closer into his space. “I don’t think that’s true. I mean, you’re shouty and blasty, yeah, but you’re not like mean. Not anymore,” he amended, when Bakugou gave him a flat look. “It’s been awhile since you’ve really gotten in a fight with anyone — even Midoriya.”

Bringing him up was a leap of faith. Bakugou stiffened, but Kirishima held fast, watching him as he took a breath and unwound. When he did, a proud grin crossed his face. “See that? Last year you would have started exploding things, man!” He sobered. “So, what’s different with your parents?”

Bakugou stared at the wall. His shoulders rose visibly with each breath, a sharp inhale, a heavy exhale. Kirishima turned his head by his jaw, murmuring, “Katsuki…”

“I can’t do anything right by her,” he rumbled at last. His voice was scratchy and rough. “No matter what I fucking do. My grades — my license — my quirk — nothing. You fucking breathe and your moms fall over themselves with how fucking proud they are of you, it’s disgusting.” Bakugou jerked away from him, turning his glare on Kirishima. His lips peeled back, teeth flashing.

Kirishima’s expression flattened. “Don’t take it out on me,” he told him, scolding but gently so.

And Bakugou’s crumpled. His brow was a mess of wrinkles, eyes squinting, teeth bared. He covered his eyes with one hand, spitting out a quaking, “Fuck.” It wasn’t a proper apology, but Kirishima would let it slide tonight. He shifted closer again, ignoring Bakugou’s show of trying to shove him away to wrap his arm around him.

“It’s okay,” he soothed. Bakugou grasped at his hips, his nails digging into the material of his shirt.

“I had those fucking dreams again,” Bakugou said, voice still tight with barely-restrained emotion. “And I blew up my damn bed, and she thought — fuck I don’t know what she thought but she was fucking pissed — she —” He choked. Trembled.

“Does she know about your dreams?” Kirishima asked.

His silence was answer enough.

“You have to talk to her, man,” he sighed. “About a lot of things.” He moved himself into Bakugou’s lap, once again ignoring the protesting rumbles as he embraced him from the front. His hair was soft, tickling Kirishima’s chin as he rested it atop Bakugou’s head. “But not now, okay? Let’s get some sleep.”

Bakugou gave up any act of rejecting him. He slumped against Kirishima, turning his face into his neck. And then, all at once, he was clinging to him, muffling sobs behind clenched teeth and wetness touching Kirishima’s skin. A coo left him, mournful and aching for Bakugou, pushing fingers through his hair. His own throat felt tight. He didn’t try to hold back his own tears.

Kirishima didn’t consider pulling away until Bakugou did. His face was blotchy red, eyes swollen, cheeks and nose wet. His expression pinched at the sight of Kirishima. “Why the fuck are you crying?” he demanded, but the effect was lost when he hiccuped.

“Cause you are!” Kirishima burst into giggles, breath hitching between them. “C-come on, man, you know that I c-cry when you cry.” He smeared his tears away with the palm of his hand. Sympathetic crying had to be a trait he got from his mom. “A-anyway. We should p-probably shower? I think I’ve got snot on my neck.”

Bakugou recoiled, which only sent Kirishima into another fit of laughter. “I’ll fucking kill you,” he hissed, but it meant I’m-fucking-mortified.

Kirishima waved it off. “C’mon. Shower.” He slid off Bakugou’s lap, taking his hands to pull him off the bed.

“Together?” He asked, while they padded to the bathroom.

He hadn’t actually been planning that, but once it was suggested, found no reason to argue. “Why not?” Kirishima pulled a pair of towels out of a cabinet.

“There are a shit ton of reasons, idiot.”

Kirishima puffed and waved a hand. “Dude. They’re just bodies. We’re not having sex. Let’s take a shower.”

And maybe Bakugou didn’t really care, or maybe he was too tired to argue, because he shrugged and started to undress. Kirishima turned the water on before following suit.

He had Bakugou stand under the spray first, kneading his palms over the muscle that he knew would be wound tighter than a spring. Slowly, under Kirishima’s ministrations, Bakugou began to relax. His posture eased, shoulders slumping, head lolling forward. A small noise left him, almost lost to the rattle of the shower spray, when Kirishima rubbed just above his shoulderblades.

Bakugou never really left himself vulnerable, but this was the closest thing. His guard was down, and Kirishima was able to step past it and marvel at what laid underneath.

When it was Kirishima’s turn, Bakugou washed his hair for him. The stroke of his fingers was pleasant, prickling all down his spine. He turned to rinse, found Bakugou gazing at him. Even after the wash, his eyes were still bloodshot. Kirishima was leaning forward before Bakugou even reached for him.

Cupping his face with both hands, Bakugou kissed him hard. Kissing Bakugou was still new, but Bakugou himself was as familiar as home. He was so closed-off to the world, bound in so many layers that when he opened himself to feel it was always so raw. Joy or misery or the fury that once encompassed him were all-consuming and laced his every breath. Tonight his lips tasted like gratitude.

Maybe, if he was hopeful, Kirishima would say love. But he didn’t really know what this was, what any of this was. If asked, he could describe Bakugou in a million ways, but ‘best friend’ or ‘partner’ would be the first to come to his lips.

They parted slow, Kirishima leaning in for another, final kiss before shutting off the water. Together they clambered out, wrapped themselves in their towels, and returned to his room.

Bakugou slept shirtless. Kirishima slept pantless. Together they made a functional set of pajamas, which was all that was required for a single bed.

Bakugou curled around him from behind, face leaned against his back. They’d untangle in the night. Bakugou would probably steal the blankets, and Kirishima would probably stretch out across the whole bed. They’d shared beds before, and knew how it went, because while there were a lot of unknowns regarding Kirishima and Bakugou — what they were to each other, and how such opposites could ever come to form two halves of a whole — it was a well known fact that they both slept better with the other by their side.

Since you don’t seem to want a polite and civil exchange of opinions on this, and are actually being incredibly rude here (whether you meant for it or not, I don’t know) I hope you won’t mind me keeping this as short as I can. All Might worked in the beginning of the bnha manga as a textbook definition of a deus ex machina, came around, solved an otherwise unsolvable plot point out of the blue bending the laws that had just been established for that universe, and Deku literally (literally) didn’t have to go through any conscious trial, soul-search or any other self-aware journey with the intention of fixing his own problem. All he did was to be heroic and to be quirkless, which for him are circumstances since those are innate traits of his character. And the only singular thing he has is that he’s quirkless, his heroic personality is shared by all of UA (Mina acted in the exact same way in Kirishima’s backstory as he did to save Bakugou, didn’t get any cool op powers out of it)

All Might was supposed to give OfA to Mirio, the literal most heroic character in bnha, a boy who had been working his ass off to become a proper hero since he was a child, but instead he found a quirkless kid and decided that he deserved a chance to become a hero too. I’m not saying that’s not true, or that Deku didn’t deserve it. I’m saying that he didn’t actively or consciously do anything to gain that power. He simply acted in a way true to his self, and that was it.

I’m gonna have to make present to you that the next time I get an ask with that tone in my inbox I’m blocking you without answering. I’m not here to be called an idiot by the first random stranger I find online, if you want a conversation with me all I’m asking is for you to be polite, that’s not too much at all in my opinion.

Like, I really don't want to sound condescending, but I don't understand how you could come to this conclusion. Bakugou has an inferiority complex from hell and suffers constantly from his own inner turmoil, todoroki has an an abusive father with a horrid childhood, iida's brother/idol was paralyzed and almost killed, shigaraki unknowingly killed his parents as a child, toshinori may still be alive, but all might (the hero) is gone to the world forever,

eri was used and experimented on HER ENTIRE LIFE, believing she was a disease to the world and could only cause suffering. I could go on for pages about the suffering these characters have ALREADY gone through- but that is okay, because the story is better for it. Because we as an audience wouldn't have cared nearly as much for deku's gain of one-for-all, if it wasn't for the trials and turmoil he faced his whole life living as a quirkless child;

Bnha is a positive story, but it does not rely solely on positivity to get by. It is a story about determination; to push back against adversity, to go on even in the face of the unknown or impossible; even if fate itself is against you. It's about climbing your mountains and beyond that, dare I say, beyond plus ultra. It's is not trying to adhere to its genre, it's is trying to be everything the genre could be and more, and as succeeded thus far.

Which is why I can understand the disappointment from the last anon, because solving everything through friendship and "hand holding" has become a norm in this genre specifically- and bnha is anything but quick and easy ways out.

Sorry if this is long, and I really hope you don't take this as an attack against you or your opinion. If that is all bnha is to you, and if that is how you perceive the show, who am I to say you are wrong. But I hope you understand what I have said at least, because you still are a huge inspiration to me as an artist and in this community. Hope the rest of your day goes alright.

Alright, first off, if you don’t want to come off as condescending try and maybe don’t be condescending. I’m nearly sure you didn’t do this consciously, considering how you ended the rant, but going “are we even reading the same story” when you supposedly want a civil exchange of opinions is the worst thing you could do ever. You pretty much said “I don’t wanna disregard your opinion but here is a list of reason why you’re wrong and I’m right”, please next time you mean to keep it civil try and avoid that, because that sounds just as bad as you’d assume.

Second, I thank you for the recap of all the tragic backstories bnha gave us, but my answer was about conclusions to arcs, not beginnings. I literally never once said that bnha is a happy-go-lucky story from start to end, I only said it made an habit of reaching for the best possible conclusion it could ever go for by the end of every arc up until now.

“The story starts off with a weak, defenseless deku being beaten by his once best friend”, sure (aside from the “once best friend”, Deku and Bakugou were never friends to begin with, please do reread the second Kacchan vs Deku for Bakugou’s view on their relationship) that’s how the story starts, and it ends with Deku with the strongest quirk on the planet, mentored by his childhood hero, with a civil and friendly rivalry with his childhood bully, on his way to become the number one hero, happy and loved and respected. “”Bakugou has an inferiority complex from hell and suffers constantly from his own inner turmoil” again, sure, and he could have given in to it and become a villain or let his terrible personality just become worse and worse, every single bad thing happened to him could have made him closer to a bad guy or given him good reasons to go against the heroes, and instead he’s working to become better, is loved and cherished, has friends that will build him up and care for him and risk their lives for him, and is actually in a way healthier place than he was in the beginning. “Todoroki has an an abusive father with a horrid childhood” SURE and now he’s got his mother back, he’s learnt to be the bigger person and put distance between himself and his father to instead use him to reach his own goals, is happy and has friends and, again, he’s supported and loved and is in a way happier place than he was in the beginning. “Toshinori may still be alive, but all might (the hero) is gone to the world forever” yes, and in any other manga the reveal would have brought a whole damn lot of drama and people calling him a fraud and turning against him, but instead that scene is the most heartwarming one in the whole manga, the whole world supporting and loving him and yelling his name to cheer him on

I could go on, but I think I made it pretty clear? Every single arc, be it a character arc or a story arc, starts tragic to end up with the most positive outcome you can have for it. There isn’t one arc that has had a tragic conclusion yet. So is it really that weird for me to think it’s believable and not surprising at all that Eri’s story, for however tragic it might have started as, could also have a happy ending? That this manga never tried to present itself as one in which things can and will turn out for the worse?

I’m not even sure exactly what your incredibly long ask was about, man. What were you trying to prove to me? Which part of the answer I gave were you trying to disprove? You just went on about how sad everyone was at the beginning of the manga as if that proved somehow that Horikoshi isn’t actively working to give everyone the happiest future they could have. 

A recap of my answer is: “I personally don’t mind Eri having a fix-it quirk because it fits well in Nighteye’s plot and falls perfectly in line with how every other arc has turned out for the best up until now”

And you came at me with an eight asks long rant that can be summed up in “you’re wrong because people in the beginning of the story were sad”

Listen. I’m always open to conversations about different opinions and takes on a story. But, again, I’m gonna need you to be polite about it and open to an equal exchange. Simply going at the end “I hope you won’t feel attacked” and “have a nice day” isn’t enough if for the rest of the rant you talked to me as if you were assuming I’m an idiot. And I’m actually gonna need you to properly read my answers before trying to follow up with them, next time. Please. I don’t have the time to rephrase my answers sixty times just because people keep answering without actually reading them.
