Rockstar!Eddie trying to convince their kid that he’s the better choice to take to school for Career Day than Steve, Bakery owner.
He even tries to sell them on Aunt Nancy who is a world famous reporter or Aunt Robin who is a code breaker at the Pentagon. Or Uncle Will who illustrates their favorite books.
Steve brings out a tray of cookies to the dining room table and the kid gets stars in their eyes at him, “But Daddy makes cookies!”
“Yeah, you do have a point, love,” as he is picking up a cookie himself.
“It worked on you, didn’t it?” Steve grins.
“That it did, sugar dumpling, that it did,” he said wryly, pulling Steve to him and kissing him hard.
“Eewwwww, Dad!”

baker's convention
Tumblr media
[image ID: a gif from infinity war of steve hugging bucky. /.end ID]

wc: 1900 words
warnings: food. reader gets picked up by steve. i kinda gave our baba anxiety(sorry)
a/n: i am SO proud of this! i hope you all love it! and i am very happy to expand the chef/baker universe! i sprinkled in a hint at a future fic with baker!nat, but let me know if you guys have any suggestions for our other friends!
pairing: chef!daddy!bucky x gn!little!reader
summary: bucky takes you to a baker's convention and you get to try new creations from his closest friends. special appearances from natasha, sam, and steve!
⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾
Bucky helped you put on your lanyard and nametag at the convention center’s entrance. He knew you could do it yourself, but he was stalling and needed something to occupy his shaky hands. He straightened out your shirt, another nervous habit of his.
“Are you excited, bubba?”
“Yes! So excited, Daddy.”
“Good, good. Daddy’s excited too.”
He kept fiddling with your clothes and tried not to think about how nervous he was for today. You’d met his baker buddies before, but never all at once, in one day. And never in such a crowded place.
He wasn’t worried because of you; he was worried about all the things beyond his control. What if the convention was too overwhelming? What if you two got separated? What if a stranger was mean to you? Breathe, Bucky. Breathe.
“Daddy?”
“Y-yeah?”
“I can have all the sweets I want today, right?”
Bucky laughed, taken aback by your question.
“Our minds are in two different places, honeybun.” He stopped messing with your clothes and kissed your forehead. “Yes, you can have all the sweets you want if you remember your manners–and if you give me a big hug right now.”
You squealed and wrapped your arms around Bucky, squeezing him with all your might. “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
Bucky was starting to feel a bit better. As usual, you were able to calm his nerves and remind him that he had nothing to worry about. He was a good caregiver. If you got overwhelmed, he would know the signs and how to help you. If you got lost, he had plenty of friends and colleagues who knew you, loved you, and would do anything to help. If a stranger tried ruining your day, he was more concerned with what you could do to them than what they could do to you.
While you were hugging Bucky as hard as you could, you were also helping slow down his heart rate and the other physical signs of his stress. He was finally prepared to go in.
“Are you ready, baby?”
“Yes! Yes! I’m so ready!”
You swung your interlocked hands back and forth as you and Bucky walked through the doors and down the long hallway that led to the convention center.
The sight of the many vendors and their stalls selling baked goods stopped you in your tracks. There were more than you could count. It seemed as if there were endless rows of cookies, cupcakes, pies, and happy people enjoying the art of baking.
Bucky noticed a friend giving you a slight wave to get your attention. He gently tugged your hand.
“Do you wanna go over there, honey? That booth looks good.”
You looked at the booth and gasped, then walked as fast as you could to get there, tugging Bucky along behind you. You were by no means as gentle with Bucky as he had been with you earlier. He laughed good-naturedly as you practically pulled his arm out of its socket.
“Natty!”
“Hey there, firecracker.”
Bucky greeted her with a nod. “Natalia.”
“Buchanan.” She turned to face you again. “I saw you pulling your Daddy back there. I could teach you this trick if you re-”
Bucky covered your ears with his hands and gave his friend a bewildered look. “You’re not teaching them that,” he whisper shouted.
Natasha stifled a laugh while Bucky took his hands away from your ears and tried to redirect your attention. “Which of these treats do you wanna try first, bun?”
“Can I have one of the cakes, please?”
“Comin’ right up.” She handed you a small plate with a square piece of cake and two forks. Bucky motioned for you to take the first bite. Your eyes widened in delight. The cake was so delicate and soaked in a sweet milk. The cake itself was sightly sour, but the sweet milk and ganache topping balanced the whole dessert.
“What is this?”
“It’s bird’s milk cake. Do you like it?”
“Mhm!” You went in for another bite.
“I have something else for you to try too.” Natasha reached beside her and handed you and Bucky another plate with two small, potato-like objects. “This is called kartosha.”
You tried pronouncing this new word before taking a bite. Once again, you were struck by how beautifully simple and balanced the dessert was. Bittersweet cookie crumbles were combined with sweet, sticky condensed milk.
“It’s so good!”
“I’m glad you think so.” Natasha looked like she was going to say more, but then a special someone caught her eye. She leaned over to whisper in your ear. “I think someone’s been stealing looks and wondering when you’re going to visit their booth.”
You whipped your head around and saw Sam look quickly in the other direction, as if he was pretending that he hadn’t been looking at you earlier. He had a mischievous smile on his face though, and his eyes wandered to you for a second before darting back. He rocked back and forth on his heels and even began to whistle a little. You giggled at his attempts to look casual.
You turned to Bucky. “Daddy, can we go to Sammy’s booth?”
“Sure can, let’s say bye to Nat first.”
“Bye, Natty! Thank you for the cake and kartosha!”
“You’re welcome.” She walked around the booth to give you a goodbye hug. “You have to come visit the cafe soon, okay? The kitties miss you and I need some help from my little decorator.”
“I will!” You waved goodbye and then skipped to Sam’s booth.
He was still putting on his oblivious act.
“Sammy, hi!”
“Oh, hey! I didn’t even see you there!”
You laughed and shook your head. “Nuh uh, I saw you looking!”
“Alright, alright, ya caught me. But once you see the show I’ve got planned for you, you’ll understand.”
“A show?” you asked, bouncing excitedly.
“Yup. A whole show. Tell me something, do you like caramel?” He took a step to where his burner stove was.
“Yeah!”
“Okay well this isn’t exactly caramel, but if you like caramel, you’ll like this.” He put a small pan on the stove and turned on the heat. “We’ll start off with a little butter, some cinnamon, and brown sugar.” Sam effortlessly dropped and sprinkled the ingredients into the pan as he listed them off. He gave the mixture a stir, shaking the pan at the same time like a pro.
“Now I don’t know if you like bananas. But if you don’t, you’ll like them after this.” He put a small handful of slices into the pan and coated them in the sauce. He turned off the stove.
“Alright, here’s the real show. I need y’all to take one step back so you’re behind that red tape on the floor.”
You and Bucky did as he said.
“Perfect, thank you. Now these bananas just need a little more juice.” He poured a small amount of clear amber liquid into the pan. “And they could also use a little more heat.” He flicked a lighter just to the side of the pan, setting all of the amber liquid aflame. He shook the pan back and forth, flipping the bananas in the flaming sauce. You watched the fire, absolutely mesmerized by how it shifted and how Sam had so much control over the volatile force. He kept the whole thing moving, like it was a choreographed dance between him and the flaming pan where he was the leader. Slowly, the flames died down and the bananas were left in a glistening sauce.
“THAT WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER!” you screamed, clapping your hands and jumping up and down. “How did you do that?!”
“A lot of practice, okay? Don’t ever try this at home.”
You nodded. “I’ll just watch you do it every day.”
Sam laughed. “If you boost my ego like this every time, I’ll do this whenever you want. You ready to try the bananas now?”
“Yes please!”
“Alright, and one more very important question.” He halted and looked at you seriously. “Do you want ice cream?”
𓏲 ࣪₊♡
Sam gave you and Bucky two beautiful bowls of bananas foster, he called it. He grinned from ear to ear as you asked him endless questions. You wanted to talk more(and ask for another serving), but a crowd full of people wanting to see Sam’s show had formed. You thanked him profusely and waved goodbye nearly your entire walk to the next booth, until you had to turn the corner and could no longer see your friend. Luckily, Bucky was holding your other hand and leading the way to make sure you didn’t bump into anyone or get lost.
You were about to mourn the end of the best time of your life, when you saw another friend waving to you excitedly.
“Stevie!”
You skipped to his booth and he met you in the middle, picking you up for a bone-crushing hug.
“I missed you, bug!”
“Easy, Rogers. Bubba’s full of sweets and ice cream.”
Steve set you down gently and fixed your clothes that he had messed up. “Sorry, bubba, sorry. Wait–you had ice cream already?”
“Uh huh! We went to Sam’s booth!”
“Aw, you went to Sam’s booth before mine? That’s not fair!” he whined. He put a hand over his chest. “You’re breakin’ my heart, bubba.”
“And he gave me a fire show.”
“And he gave you a fire show?” Steve pretended to cry, putting his head in his hands and allowing sobs to run through his body.
“Stevieee, c’mon!” You wrapped your arms around him and patted his back. “Do you know what Sammy didn’t give to me?”
“What?” Steve asked, still pouting.
“Two hugs!”
Steve stopped his crocodile tears and returned your embrace, swinging you side to side to hear your giggles.
“I guess the hugs make up for me not having any fire. And I’m the best hugger you know, right?”
“I-”
“Let’s go see the sweets I have for you!” he said, cutting you off. He carried you on his hip for the short walk to his booth and set you down at the front of it, because only vendors were allowed in the behind area.
Steve stepped behind the display and fixed his apron. Before he spoke, he puffed out his chest and held out his hands in a theatrical manner.
“Welcome to a slice of paradise! We have every pie you can think of! Apple, pumpkin, pecan, key lime, cherry, strawberry–every American classic! And for the non-pie lovers, I have cheesecakes, tarts, and the best rice krispie treats made with my Ma’s secret recipe.” He ended his speech with a wink.
“Wow! There’s so many! I don’t know which one to choose.” You looked at Bucky for assistance.
“Lucky for you, my little bug, I have a sampler platter!” Steve presented you with a plate of many small squares of everything he was selling, all with different colored toothpicks. “You can try these out and when you decide the one you want, let me know and I’ll serve you a whole slice.”
You giddily took the sampler plate and tried all the samples with Bucky, giving Steve feedback after each bite. When you finished trying all of the sweets, you couldn’t pick just one to have a full slice of.
“Stevie?”
“Yeah?”
“Can I have another sample plate, please?”
“Sure, but don’t you want a whole slice of your favorite one?”
“I can’t choose a favorite! They’re all so good.”
Steve smiled proudly. “Alright, one more sampler platter for the charmer with the grouchy daddy.”
Bucky grunted while you giggled. “I have one more question.”
Steve nodded while he arranged your next plate. “What’s up?”
“Can I have a scoop of ice cream too? I need to try all of them with it, for science.”

steddie thoughts (part one!)
steddie thoughts part two: here
smut/nsfw version: here
Eddie rocks the Ferris Wheel stall and Steve freaks out and begs him to stop, eyes shut as he clings onto the seat.
Eddie is ALWAYS horny, and he's willing to have sex at any time, and easily flusters Steve by making crude comments and slaps Steve's ass on a daily basis.
Steve loves taking baths or showers with Eddie. It really calms him, brushing his hands through Eddie's wet hair, but Eddie, being the horndog he is, presses himself against Steve, huskily whispering in his ear.
Eddie is incredibly aware how much Steve loves his body, and is completely unashamed with being nude. He walks around the house naked and Steve blushes, jaw-dropped as he slips over his words to tell Eddie to put on clothes.
Steve wears short-shorts when Eddie's in the house, deciding that when Eddie's watching TV is the perfect time to bend over and pick something up from under the TV console.
Eddie sleeps on the couch when Steve and him get into fights because he can't stand being in the bed alone when Steve storms out to Robin's house.
While Steve is nuzzled against him or sleeping beside him, Eddie will take photos of it and then smile at them everyday at work.
Steve said I love you first, and they often get into 'fights' where they argue about who loves who more.
Eddie, when defending himself, can be really mean without realizing. This leads to Steve snapping and yelling back while crying. It ends with the two of them crying, Steve sobbing in his chest.
Steve wears Eddie's sweatshirts, that are too big on him, in all moments. He wears them to sleep, he wears them to go out, he wears them under his apron at work, and Eddie even fucks Steve in it a couple of times because he loves the thought of Steve wearing his clothes.
Eddie often shakes Steve awake to tell him a cool dream he had.
When Steve has nightmares, Eddie soothes him by pulling the blankets to their chins, hides Steve's sobbing face by smushing it against his bare chest and softly singing him asleep.
When Steve makes him try desserts for his bakery, Eddie exaggerates and moans loudly while trying them, declaring them the best thing ever.
Eddie often teases Steve for having a crush on him, and Steve just rolls his eyes before reminding him they're dating.
Eddie once threw a handful of flour at Steve, and he is no longer allowed to help bake.
Steve will be muttering along to the music when he's baking, and Eddie practically runs into the kitchen, grabs a wooden spoon as a fake mic, and begins singing along, pointing the wooden spoon at Steve for him to sing. Steve is a better singer, though its a close tie, but he's incredibly shy and refuses to sing most of the time.
Eddie holds Steve's hand or slide his arm around his waist in public.
Eddie loves to grab and slap Steve's ass, or just hold it in general, and Steve makes fun of him for it, but they both get flustered when Robin brings it up.
Steve often pulls Eddie towards him by putting his fingers through the belt loops, which Eddie almost always makes a crude comment about.
Eddie is incredibly protective over Steve, not letting him drive in the rain and makes Steve wait in the road as he shovels the driveway so Steve doesn't slip the car on snow. He'll bring him hot cocoa and visit him in the bakery and tend to all of Steve's burns.
Eddie, when he shows up late from work, will find Steve snuggled on his side of the bed, head shoved in his pillow that smells like him.
Steve falls asleep often and Eddie carries him to bed.
Steve sits in shotgun while Eddie drives.
Steve cuts Eddie's hair, and styles it almost every week.
Eddie often sends Steve encouraging messages throughout the day, and Steve shows up to the car shop with treats to give out to the mechanics, but saves the biggest slices for Eddie.
Eddie says shitty puns and sex jokes just to see Steve giggle and blush.
Steve has abandonment issues and thinks he's not good enough for Eddie and is afraid of losing him. Eddie often has to remind him that he loves him and he's not going anywhere.
Eddie also think he keeps messing up, but Steve tells him not to worry.
Steve randomly starts slow dancing with Eddie in the kitchen as the desserts bake.
Eddie holds Steve just above the ground and kisses him when the song is over.
Eddie kissed Steve on their first date, when Steve was 21, and he was 24. They were in a park on a picnic.
Eddie, much to Steve's chagrin, loves ordering fast food and takeout. He even orders it at two in the morning, but still ravages on the food Steve makes, making Steve happy.
In fact, Steve often wakes up Eddie in the middle of the night to go downstairs and get a glass of water because he's too afraid to go alone.
Eddie sings and writes songs for Steve, who blushes throughout the serenade.
Steve has to end up drive Eddie to the emergency room multiple times when a crazy stunt that Eddie pulled to impress Steve backfires.
Steve has to wear glasses and finds them super dorky and weird, but Eddie always smiles when he sees Steve in them and thinks he looks super cute.

Something's In My Mind (and I'm Focused On You) Chapter 17
Chapter Description: Eddie gets sick after the Halloween Block Party- thankfully, there's someone willing to drop everything and help. ;)
Content Warnings: Illness (nothing too serious), use of the word "queer" as a slur (it's the last word of the chapter, you can skip it and not miss too much plot-wise).

okay hi ik i posted a thing like two months ago about baker!steve and hair dresser!eddie, and i started writing something about it and gave up BUT ! i have made something? idk if it's good and please roast me if it's not tbh, but !
here is my first work of fanfiction since i was like 12 years old😎
also! it's 1.4k words ! and just some intro fluff things :p
---
Steve had been working at the bakery for a few months, and eventually noticed that he seemed to be seeing the same eccentric looking metalhead every week. He’d brought him up briefly to Robin, who never seemed to work the same shift as him when the mysterious man came in, and she was convinced that he had to have some kind of crush on Steve. That however, was just ludicrous as they lived in Hawkins, Indiana, where even the most progressive people still couldn’t understand how queer people existed. It was crazy enough that he (with Robin’s help, of course) had realized he could be- bisexual? Was that the right word? He never could remember, but that didn’t matter much, he just knew that him liking both men and women, and being best friends with Robin, who liked exclusively women, was probably just about as lucky as he was going to get on the queer-front. He obviously had hoped that the strange man that only ever bought one oatmeal raisin cookie, and if he was early enough, a blueberry muffin, could be into him, but it was just too impractical. He’d keep going on his boring dates with pretty, perfect straight girls, and keep his wishful thinking to himself.
What he hadn’t anticipated was getting let down almost every single time the little bell on the door rang and it wasn’t oatmeal raisin man. He’d spent most Tuesdays like that, though, which was honestly kind of embarrassing. They’d interacted for maybe ten minutes max on the days that he got to see him, and he still was too shy to ask for his name. Obviously, oatmeal raisin man knew his name, because he had to wear a name tag over his apron, so every time, without fail, he would rest his forearms on the counter and let out a cheeky, “Crazy to see you here, Stevie!” And every time, Steve would try to sound like this wasn’t the best part of his day when he said, “I’m always here, it’s almost like this is my job.” He’d go straight to the display case that had cookies waiting to be grabbed, and pick out the best looking cookie he could. He would’ve set a cookie aside for the man, but he knew that if his boss saw him setting aside cookies for random customers, she’d probably get annoyed with him for “wasting food”.
On this particular Tuesday, though, it was getting pretty close to their closing time, and Steve hadn’t seen oatmeal raisin man all day. He tried not to get too sad though, because he and Robin had plans to stay in and watch movies tonight, and he definitely did not need her getting on his case about his little crush. He had about thirty minutes to kill before he had to start closing, so he was in the back cleaning off the table he’d been using to practice his cake decorating. He wasn’t allowed to actually frost any cakes yet, but his boss had let him use some of their less popular frosting colors to practice making flowers and writing words. He was in the middle of wiping off the table when the bell in the front rang, so he threw away the wipe and went to wash his hands.
“One second please, I’ll be right out!” He shouted, hoping whoever was in the front was able to hear him. He dried his hands and rushed out of the door, trying to look like he wasn’t too excited when the person he saw was exactly who he’d been waiting for all day.
“Stevie, I was worried I’d miss you today!” Oatmeal raisin man said while raising his hands up excitedly. He had the cutest grin on his face, and Steve felt his heart melt just a little bit. Had he really been waiting to see him all day? It was probably just him trying to be personable, he couldn’t possibly have been just as excited as Steve was to see him.
He took a second to look the other man over, noticing that his long hair was kept up in a bun today, with little curls hanging out to frame his face. Usually he’d wear his hair down, having at least one hand twirling a curl while he talked. He also didn’t seem to have as many rings on as usual, not that Steve had been keeping track of his rings or anything, and he wasn’t wearing his leather bracelet. God, Steve really needed to not stare at his hands so much, normal people didn’t just stare at their customers hands every time they saw them. Normal people also probably weren’t as interested in the way oatmeal raisin man’s shirt sleeves cuffed his arms perfectly, or the way that the bottom of his shirt rode up a little around his stomach, showing off some of his extremely pale skin. Steve stood there for what was probably too long, staring at him, before realizing he should definitely have responded to what the man had said.
“Oh- No, I definitely work all day on Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and basically like every day we’re open. They kind of have me working just about as much as they can since one of my old coworkers quit, since I’m one of the only people not still in high school and I don’t really have anything else to do, besides babysit these stupid highschoolers I’m friends with-“ He started rambling, a light flush on his cheeks while he started counting on his fingers all of the reasons he would most definitely be there, leaving out that seeing oatmeal raisin man was reason number one. “But you definitely are not here to listen to me talk about how ridiculously boring and lame my life is, I’m so sorry, did you want your usual?” He asked, running a hand through his hair and trying to seem more nonchalant.
“Actually, I was thinking that today I might see what you recommend, Stevie boy. What’s your favorite dessert here?” Oatmeal raisin man asked while he crossed his arms, one hand coming up to play with a curl. He tilted his head slightly, batting his eyelashes as Steve stood there, his mouth slightly open.
“Ummm… I’m not really big on sweets if I’m gonna be completely honest with you, but I think our chocolate chip cookies are good? I made the ones that are out today, so it’s honestly probably fifty-fifty, there’s a reason I’m usually in the front helping customers.” Steve explained, the hand that was in his hair moving to scratch the back of his neck as he gave a half shrug. He moved to the case with cookies, and pulled out a pretty chocolate filled cookie. He placed it into one of the little brown bags that they had, and slid it over the counter to oatmeal raisin man.
“Oh? They just leave you and your pretty face out here all by yourself?” Oatmeal raisin man joked, his eyes never leaving Steve as he moved to stand back in front of him. He moved to pull his wallet from his back pocket, flipping it open and taking out a five dollar bill. When he held his hand with the money out to Steve, it was pushed back to him as Steve’s fingers curled around his own.
“I mean, I don’t think it’s too lonely when I get to see you.” Steve said, winking when a light blush dusted Oatmeal Raisin Man’s cheeks. “By the way,” he continued, “I don’t think I’ve ever been told your name? And I mean, if you don’t want to tell me you totally don’t have to, but like sometimes I tell my best friend about you and I never get to use your name-“ Steve started, his eyes widening when he realized that he’d totally just admitted to talking about Oatmeal Raisin Man to other people.
“I mean- I totally don’t tell my best friend about you and I totally did not mean to say that, I’m like, way cool and like, totally chill.” Nice save, Steve. Real nice. He grimaces to himself and runs his hand through his hair, yet again, trying to school the bright red blush that’s got to be apparent on his cheeks.
Oatmeal Raisin Man grins, lighting up his whole face, “Stevie, sweetheart, you tell your friends about me? That makes me feel so much better about torturing my party every week with a new story about seeing you. And, it’s Eddie, by the way. Eddie Munson, but you can call me whatever you’d like.” Eddie gives Steve a wink, placing his five dollar bill that was returned into the tip jar by the cash register instead.

Eddie's a mechanic, has a shop in Indy. It's only got two bays, but he owns it, he saved up the money, it's his. He runs it with Wayne, is building up a customer base. He loves it.
Within the year, a bakery opens up next door, separated from Eddie's shop by a narrow alley. He has a perfect view into the bakery's kitchen from the shop's office, and almost immediately catches a glimpse of the drop-dead gorgeous guy behind the mixing bowl. He's got sun-golden skin, swoopy brown hair, wide puppy dog eyes, the poutiest mouth, and a face dotted with freckles. Eddie gapes at him for a solid two-minutes, salivating over the bunch and pull of his muscles as he kneads a ball of dough. A wet dream come true.
Eddie's always sneaking glances at the shop next door, can't seem to keep his gaze off the most beautiful man he's ever seen. Over the next few months, he becomes familiar with this herd of kids that hang around the bakery at all hours. There's one, curly-haired and mouthy, who often makes the baker frown with his hands on his hips, but as soon as the boy walks away, the baker smiles all wide and fond.
It's a silly crush, no big deal. He has a weakness for brown-eyed pretty boys, so what? It's not like he's going to do anything crazy, like make a move.
It's past midnight, a few months after the bakery opens, and Eddie's in his little office, doing the monthly accounting. He's exhausted, tired of calculators and numbers, when a flash of light catches at the corner of his eye. He blinks a few times, sure it's the exhaustion setting in, but it doesn't go away.
Instead, there's a light on over at the bakery. It's a kitchen light, and the baker is standing at the stainless steel counter, looking unlike Eddie's ever seen. His hair is a soft wave, swooping onto his forehead. He wears grey sweatpants and a yellow sweatshirt. Tonight, his movements are less precise and practiced; he's slow and contemplative as he gathers ingredients and mixing bowls.
It's been long enough Eddie should look away, but he forgets that it isn't a dream, that he's actually watching the baker roll up his sleeves as he whisks. It's inevitable that, eventually, the baker catches Eddie staring. He just smiles, though, and waves. Eddie manages to return the greeting before awareness smacks him in the face, and he flees the office and the building in acute embarrassment.
They share waves after that. Smiles. Laughter once when Eddie's reading over an invoice and walking, smacks face-first into the doorframe. Eye rolls after the baker gets into an impassioned argument with the curly-haired boy, one that involves a copious amount of thrown flour.
They exchange waves and smiles and goofy expressions, and it shouldn't escalate further, but one day Eddie steps into the shop's waiting room to find the curly-haired boy sitting behind the reception desk, flipping through Eddie's new dnd guide.
"What." Eddie says.
"You," says the boy. He's pointing and glaring and Eddie is a little scared.
"Me?"
"You like dnd?"
He hopes his sigh of relief isn't audible. "Best DM this town has ever seen." He postures and smirks.
"Doubt it," the boy says.
Eddie lets out an offended squeak, dramatically smashes his hand over his heart. "Insulted! Maligned! In my own place of business! Oh!" He falls into a dramatic swoon.
The boy snickers. "I'm Dustin," he says.
"Eddie." They shake hands and Eddie does not laugh at how overly serious this is all is. "Sir Dustin, what brings you to my fine establishment?"
Dustin shrugs. "Steve."
"Steve?"
Dustin rolls his eyes. "The bakery."
"Oh," Eddie says. Steve. The baker is Steve.
He's having a little trouble breathing, sure he's done something wrong, a distinct feeling of doom settling on his shoulders. "Why?"
"He won't stop talking about the mechanic next door but refuses to introduce himself. Plus, I saw your D20 tattoo the other day."
Eddie's barely hearing him, reeling over the knowledge that Steve talks about him to his gaggle of children. He barely hears the rest of the conversation, but the next day Dustin shows up with the rest of the kids, Lucas, Mike, Max, El, Erica, Will.
They're loud, chaotic, wild, and somehow--before they leave--they've coerced him into running a one-shot for them. They come by in twos and threes for the rest of the week, eating all the snacks in the waiting room mini-fridge and talking at him and Wayne as they work.
It's Friday, it's sweltering, he's closing the shop for the night with the top of his coveralls hanging off hips, his sweat soaked undershirt tossed behind a tool chest. He steps into the waiting area and nearly jumps out of his skin to find a man there, holding a plastic container.
Steve.
"H--hi," he stutters. And fuck, he's shirtless. He's standing in front of Steve for the first time and his nipples are out. This is it, the moment he finally dies of embarrassment.
Steve's eyes are locked on Eddie's torso for a few seconds too long, cheeks flushing. He blinks, finally looking at Eddie's face. "I'm Steve. From the--the bakery next door?" He points. "I--uh--I wanted to stop by and apologize?"
"What?" Eddie asks. There's too much happening for him to keep up.
"Um, the kids?"
And Eddie can't fathom why he needs to apologize, can only stare at Steve in confused disbelief.
"It's just. They can be kind of a handful. I used to babysit Mike and the whole group of them started following me around, and--Anyway, I think Dustin took it upon himself to try to introduce us. I've been wondering where they keep disappearing off to, and Max told me today that they're here with you, and I thought I probably owed you an apology. You're trying to work and I know they can be a bunch of shitheads, and oh my god, I'm rambling, I really am turning into Robin, Jesus Christ."
Eddie is fucked. Oh he's so fucked. He's charmed, endeared, can't stop smiling at Steve who is somehow even more beautiful up close.
"I forgive you," Eddie says. "They're nice kids."
Steve lets out a hard breath. "They are, huh?" He smiles. "Don't let them hear you say that. You'll never get a moment's peace. And they shouldn't have been over here bothering you, anyway."
"It wasn't a bother. Though, they did eat all my snacks and swindle me into running a one-shot for them. Still not sure how that happened."
Steve laughs and his eyes crinkle at the corner. So fucked. So fucked. "I should've known that you play that game of theirs."
"Aw, not a dnd fan, Stevie?"
Steve blushes. "It's--there's a lot of math."
Eddie laughs, already knows he's never getting over this one. "You bake professionally."
"It's different?" Steve laughs. "Fine, fine! You got me, it's not my thing."
"Bet I could change your mind," Eddie says. He doesn't mean to be flirting, can't stop himself.
"I bet you could," Steve agrees. He moves his hand, like maybe he's going to run it through his swoop of hair, then seems to remember he's holding baked goods. "Oh, uh, please take these cupcakes as my apology for accidentally saddling you with my group of semi-feral children."
"You're already forgiven, but I'll never say no to a cupcake."
"You should stop by the shop tomorrow, then" Steve says. "On the house."
"You've already given me these." He wiggles the cupcakes in Steve's pretty face.
"I only save the free samples for the hottest customers." Steve does run a hand through his hair now, and it's dorky as fuck, but Eddie still feels like he's died and this is heaven. "See you tomorrow?"
Eddie can only nod as Steve backs out of the office with a cheeky little wave.
He goes to the bakery the next day, sure he just let his crush get away from him and imagined the entire interaction with Steve. Except, when he walks in, Steve smiles all big and pretty in his little blue apron, invites Eddie back to the kitchen.
And if they share their first kiss against the stainless steel countertops, it's between them, Wayne, and all the kids who spy on them from the shop's office window.

Part One of Rock Star Eddie and Baker Steve wrong number AU
Link to Part Two
Eddie's got dubious history with picture messages. Only a very small group of people have his number, considering he's the front man of a multimillion best selling metal band, he doesn't ever want his number to be public knowledge.
So yeah, picture message from and unknown number? Dubious.
Eddie's had enough dick and...vag...pics in his time that he, honestly, doesn't really want another. But when the picture is followed by a message, "were you thinking something like this?"
Well, Eddie's a curious guy. So, committing himself to the idea that this might be new number time, again, he opens the message.
To be confronted with a cake. A really fucking cool cake actually, it's got a car dashing around a muddy track on top with a big '5' in the middle. All of it looks edible, made out of...cake stuff. Eddie has no idea what it is, but it looks delicious.
"One layer chocolate, one layer red velvet? I can do any combination of flavours you want."
Well. Eddie isn't anything but impulsive and he was trying to figure out what the fuck to do for the 'quiet' celebration they were planning for going platinum. Again.
"I think you have the wrong number'" Eddie types, "but I definitely want to order a cake from you."
"Oh my god I'm so sorry, unsolicited cake pics are the worst 😉"
And Eddie can't help it, he laughs, and types back, "if I told you I wanted three tiers of the darkest, spookiest, cherry chocolate what would you come up with?"
It takes a couple of minutes, but Eddie's phone pings twice in quick succession, the first picture is of a spooky orange cake clearly Halloween themed, covered in ghosts and skeletons and stuff. The second is jet black and has a coffin on top that looks like it's leaking green corrosive stuff and Eddie nearly throws his phone in excitement. "That! The second one!"
"🤣 that's an old pic, I was just starting out then, but everything is edible, the green slime is made out of jello"
"Where are you based and can you make it for the 15th? I'll get a courier to collect."
"Sure thing, how many portions? And I need a deposit up front. I'll do chocolate ganache and cherry filling."
"Errr...like, 150? Maybe?"
Eddie sits and watches as the dots appear and disappear, appear and disappear, and then there's a pic.
It's a selfie of the most beautiful man he's ever seen. And he's standing in a kitchen, holding a cake pan. Suddenly Eddie's phone is ringing in his hand and he is panicking because beautiful man is calling him. "Hello?"
"Hey, man, it's Steve, the cake guy?". Eddie assumes he makes an affirmative noise because Steve keeps talking, "anyway, that cake pan I'm holding is literally the largest one I own, even if I did three tiers, no way will it cater that many, I'm a small business, you know, it's just me. I can recommend you some companies I know would do a great job."
But then, Eddie will never get to talk to beautiful man ever again, "what if you made like, three cakes?". He asks desperately.
There's a long beat of silence on the phone, "I mean, in theory, I mean, it might cost you more than-"
"I'll pay it. I'll pay double, for, inconvenience, or whatever-"
And oh no, beautiful man has the most beautiful laugh too. Eddie's fucked. He's so fucked.
"I'll raise you, two cakes and fifty muffins?" Steve laughs again, and Eddie laughs right along with him.
Steve grabs his phone when it pings, hoping for Eddie. It is Eddie. It's a selfie from the neck down, like always, Steve still doesn't know what the guy looks like, but Eddie's wearing a deep red shirt that he's clearly just dumped a whole cup of coffee down, "hope your days going better than mine, sweetheart,"
Steve sends back a selfie with a lump of uncooperative modelling fondant in the background, "that depends, can you tell what this is supposed to be?"
Steve's pretty sure it's wierd to talk to a customer every day, but he's started to find he's looking forward to Eddie's messages. Even when they turn flirty. Especially when they turn flirty, maybe.
And maybe it's not exactly professional that Steve's found a lot of reasons to call Eddie. He just, needs to get this right, and if Eddie wants chocolate covered cherries on the cupcakes, well, Steve needs to call him and check, right? Right.
Steve heads out into the lounge with flour on his nose and a mixing bowl under his arm, Dustin, Lucas and Max are sprawled on the couch, El lying on the floor. He can hear Mike and Will fucking around outside. He spoons up some cherry mixture, "hey will you try-"
"Shhhhhhhh!"
Well. Rude. Steve looks to the interview they're watching on the TV. It's some metal band Steve vaguely recognises, and when the lead guy speaks...Steve has to sit down. Because that sounds a lot like-
"So, Eddie," the show host guy starts, and Steve's knees would go weak of he wasn't already sitting down. He's certain his stomach has left the building. "Seeing anyone?"
Eddie laughs, says no, but the band mate next to him makes a show of nudging Eddie and sharing a look.
The host picks up on it immediately, "so there is someone," Eddie's still shaking his head, but he's got a shy smile on his face that makes Steve feel like he's melting. "Come on Eddie, give us something."
"It's not a thing," Eddie flaps his hands, "don't make it a thing."
"Oh it's a thing alright," the audience laugh, "come on, give us something!"
Eddie looks uncomfortable for a second before shrugging, "they, uhm, they make the most amazing cakes you've ever seen."

i'd like to thank the amazing @kayleeofcamelot for being my lovely beta reader <3

wc: 1.1k | rating: e (18+) | pairing: steddie | cw: none | tags: a/b/o, alpha eddie munson, omega steve harrington, modern au, baker steve, famous eddie, getting together, gay eddie, bi steve, soulmates/true mates/scent mates, side buckingham
part two | part three
--------------
"God, fuck- alpha, please ..." Steve begs, sat upon a man's toned, yet lean thigh, grinding and rutting against it as he chased his high. The man chuckled darkly, his hands coming to grip Steve's hips, tight enough that Steve knows there will be bruises, guiding him along roughly.
With barely open eyes, he managed to peek at the hands that would surely leave marks come morning. Dark tendrils of tattoos that stretched from the man’s second knuckle and up his arms. Fingertips calloused and dexterous, nails bitten and paint chipped, and almost every finger has more than two silver rings adorning it, save for his right hands ring finger. No, that finger holds only one ring. An aged, loved, golden band with three small red crystals set in a line.
Small gasps left Steve's lips, every roll of the omega’s hips pressed his cocklette deliciously against the fabric of the omega's thin shorts. Both pants had surely been ruined by the amount of slick that poured out of him, but he couldn't make himself feel bad about it, even if he tried. Something inside him, his omega , told him that the alpha was having just as much fun as he was.
"Ah- ‘M close, alpha..." Steve pants, head feeling pleasantly fuzzy. He could smell how his own scent had changed, the spiced apple scent turning into something heady and thick. Suddenly, he got hit with the most divine scent in the world. Campfire smoke and pine, a hint of petrichor and old books. Home- a whispered thought. It almost sent him over the edge.
Almost.
Then, all of a sudden, everything felt wrong . It was as if he was floating away from his body, his mind a balloon escaping a child's loose clutch. He couldn't smell the alpha, just his own scent turning sour and rotten. The cool sensation of the man's rings where they pressed into bare skin suddenly spread all over, no longer comforting, but as if ice water had engulfed him. Something nagged at him, though, in the back of his mind. Something like a spark, settling into the omega and igniting coals to keep him warm and happy.
And Steve opened his eyes.
Steve glared at himself in the mirror, bare in preparation for a shower. There were no marks, no evidence of anything happening. One more glance over his entire body confirmed that there was nothing left of the alpha. It was a simple wet dream. The only thing that kept him from dismissing the dream entirely was his strong disappointment when he woke up alone, and the low thrum of energy he could feel stemming from his inner omega. (And the slick-soaked sheets he'd have to deal with later.) If he focused hard enough, he could almost hear the whispering rumble of "Mate. Alpha. Mate. Alpha."
He shook himself from his stupor and hopped in the shower. What did it mean, this newfound warmth over someone he'd apparently made up in his mind? Was he really that lonely? No, of course not.
(Yes. He was.)
After turning over question after question in his mind only to come up blank, he sighed. He'd have to talk to Robin about this.
Reluctantly set in his decision, he got out of the shower and patted himself dry, threw his hair up in a towel, and put on a fresh pair of sweats. Throwing a glance at his alarm clock, it read 9:57 AM . Robin should be awake by now, hunched over their dinky coffee machine with her eyes still closed and dried drool on her chin.
It was Sunday, so Robin didn't have class and the bakery Steve worked at, Claudia's Cakes , was closed for the day. He figured he could take her out to lunch. Maybe the deli two doors down from the bakery? He had been having a craving for their Cubano recently.
Stepping out of his room and shuffling to the kitchen, Steve found Robin exactly like he thought, arms braced on the counter to pillow her resting head. The coffee machine gurgled away, the strong scent mingling with Robin’s earthy strawberry aroma.
"Morning, Robs."
A small groan is all he got in response. He chuckled softly and fetched the sugar and creamer, setting it on the counter next to his best friend's birds nest of bed head. Taking his place at their table, he opened up his phone to check his messages (mostly from Dustin talking about some band he found online).  Soon, Robin slumped into the chair across from him, a mug of coffee placed in front of him as she sipped on her own. Now that she was actually awake, she looked at him with a curious expression.
"What? Do I have something on my face?" Steve asked her.
She hummed, taking a calculating look. "No, nothing on your face. You just... you smell different. Not bad different! Just different, like instead of cinnamon apple cake, you smell like roasted apples. And honey? What's up with that?"
Steve is surprised she doesn't spill her coffee all over the place with how she flings her arms around, emphasizing her question with a pointed finger and finally slamming her mug down.
"I don't know, dude.” Another glare from her. "I really don't! Anyways, did you want to grab lunch at the deli today? My treat."
Sighing and giving him one last glare, she shrugged. "Yeah, sure. I’ve been meaning to stop by the record store, could we swing by on the way back?”
Steve threw a pointed glance to their overflowing record crate below their old record player, a housewarming gift from Robin’s mom. She huffed in response, crossing her arms and mumbled “I just want to look.”
Crimson painted her cheeks and she avoided his gaze, which was all Steve needed to know. He knew Robin had made a friend (or crush rather) in her music theory class at UIC, and she and Steve were basically some sort of cosmic twins, and he knew all of her tells. So when he asked if he’s finally going to meet her, she really shouldn’t be that surprised. She still looked up at him with wide eyes, dropping her arms to the table. Another pointed look from Steve and she relented, “She told me to stop in when I could because she wants to show me this really cool limited edition vinyl the store got in recently and she looked so pretty when she asked, Steve. She had these pigtails and she was wearing this eyeshadow that made her eyes pop and she was wearing the skirt I told you about, the one with the hearts? Yeah, that one! And her sweater was, like, four sizes too big and she looked tiny! Anyways, how could I possibly say no when she looks like that?! She batted her eyelashes at me, Steve. Don’t give me that look.”
The omega simply sighed, shook his head fondly, and stood up.
“Be ready in an hour, Buckley.”

Tastes like strawberries.
Masterlist.
Pairing: chubby baker bucky x mob reader x mob steve.
Summary :your sweet boyfriend bucky is stuck in a tight spot between you and your rival steve rogers.
Warning : 18+ under the cut, minors dni, smut, fluff, oral receiving, anal, kind of cheating.(poly).typos.
Tumblr media
"ughh bucky.." you moaned as bucky sucked on your clit, teasing your sensitive nub, "fuck I'm I'm gonna come baby."
Bucky looked up from where he was, still on his knees in the middle of your office as he gave you his wicked smile. "Come for me sugar."
You came on cue, letting out a loud moan as bucky worked on 'eating his favorite dessert '. You leaned further back in your chair, in exhaustion from the fifth time he's made you come using his fingers and mouth.
You see bucky only came here to drop off your favorite red velvet cupcakes, but of course it wasn't free ,you had to pay for it by letting him eat 'his pussy'. You'd told him you only had about an hour before you had to meet steve to discuss about your new shipment. So bucky got straight to work, 'that's more than enough time sugar, think we could beat our record this time?'
And who were you to deny your sweet baker boyfriend his favorite meal. So here you were panting for breath as he was finally done and cleaned you up just in time as steve knocked on your door. "Just a minute rogers. "
You qucikly pressed a kiss to your favorite baker, thanking him for the cupcakes, "of course sugar , meet ya tonight."
You gave his ass a pat as he walked out, but it was not just you who had your eyes on his cake, the one and only steve rogers too was watching watching the sweet baker go.
"Come in steve." Steve entered with a knowing smirk on his face, "that your new toy sweetheart?" He asked sitting down on the big cozy chair.
"Shut up rogers,he's just my delivery boy ,came to give me my favorite cupcakes." You said motioning towards the box , steve eagerly took one and had a bite ,he moaned at he taste of it.
"Mmph it's really good sweetheart, wish i had a sweet delivery boy who came to my office in the middle of the day, to give me sweet cupcakes and a pussyjob, or in my case a blowjob, i bet he'd like that." Steve saw your eyes widening, "oh come on you don't think i'd know that you've been fucking that sweet baker boy from brooklyn, it's my territory after all."
"No it's not yours..and who i fuck is none of your business. " you said pouring yourself and steve each a glass of whiskey.
"Hmm such a shame, I'd love to make him ride my cock while you got yourself off watching us, wouldn't that be a dream, pretty girl." You'd be lying if you said Steve's words didn't turn you on, or make you imagine the scenario vividly in your head , but you can't do this now.
"Keep your dirty hands off of him...let's talk business, that's what you're here for."
"Alright then ." the blonde said downing his whiskey.
Tumblr media
You got home after the long day to find bucky on the couch, "welcome home sugar." He stood up to give you a longing kiss. "I ordered us pizza for dinner it'll be here in 10."
"Hmm i don't think i can wait until then , I'm hungry.." you pouted to your six foot boyfriend, hands grabbing his soft belly ,giving it a squeeze.
"Oh maybe i can make you something in the meantime- " his words died down as he saw tou drop to your knees and pulling down his sweatpants, "I'm hungry for your cock daddy." Bucky's mouth formed an o in realizing your words.
"Uh of course you can always have my cock prettygirl." He said blushing.
You got to work right then, making your boyfriend see heaven as he came thrice by the time the pizza arrived.
"I uh I'll go get it." Bucky hasitly pulled up his pants as he went to get the pizza knocking down some things on his way. 'Such a sexy clumsy man' you thought.
"oh and bucky." You said as you were eating rhe pizza, "did steve come to the bakery recently ?"
Bucky almost choked on the drink he was having ,"uh steve? The blonde guy at your office today sugar?" He enquired .
"Yeah that guy."
"Uhm no sugar." He said ,like a liar as he thought about that night, a week ago when the blonde mobster decided to 'visit' his bakery at the time of closing it was almost 9, with no one around.
He somehow convinced bucky into having a drink at his bar, saying he needed to discuss some important things about your safety , and bucky being the good boyfriend he is of course agreed.
Bucky didn't miss the way the blonde's eyes raked all over his body and he'd be lying if he said he didn't check out Steve's spectacular ass in those tight jeans .
Steve told him some bullshit story about the mobsters in newyork ...and went on to flirt with bucky shamelessly.
One thing led to another, and he ended up in Steve's place, sucking his cock like a gold boy.
"Oh fuck ,i knew y/n kept you around for a reason bucky aghh..you're so good keep going pretty boy. " he said as he came in bucky's mouth.
And ended up fucking bucky on his bed all night, making bucky cry in pleasure.
"Oh i know prettt boy, you're tight asshole hasn't been fucked like that in a long time ,has it?" Steve showered him in praises and told him about how much of a good boy bucky is, taking him so well in his tight hole.
Bucky never spoke of that night to anybody, he knew it was wrong getting involved with your rival, he knew how dangerous it was too. But he liked the thrill, and loved how Steve's big cock split him open. He hoped it would be a one time thing that never happened again.
But steve's got other plans.

omrm is my next curiosity. do you have a snippet? :D
OATMEAL RAISIN MAN
here's your snipped @a-little-unsteddie <33

It had been just a few long months shy of a year, just long enough to grow out his hair and beard to make himself as unrecognizable as he could manage. Though he was still the poster boy of disorder within the states, he found himself in the scanty town of Greenwood in the house right next to yours.

Steve who goes on a Bake Off type show after Robin, Dustin, and Max set him up as a contestant. He doesn't want to, doesn't think baking or cooking should be stressful, but he's been wallowing since his knee surgery took him out of work and basketball, since his divorce.
His first day on set, he's totally gobsmacked by the sexy host with all the tattoos and long, curly hair. Just, cannot take his eyes off the guy, blushing and stammering whenever he comes around to do interviews, obviously can't stop starring.
After the first day, where he manages to stay comfortably in the middle of the pack, he calls Robin to complain about what a mess he becomes around this gorgeous dude.
Her response is to cackle and say, "Steve! How do you not know who Eddie Munson is? Oh my god, you're a disaster."
Turns out, Eddie Munson is the lead singer of Dustin's favorite band, Corroded Coffin, and also pretty well-known for his dnd YouTube channel. He's been a host on the show for years, only Steve doesn't really pay attention when the others watch it and didn't know.
Eddie, for his part, is losing his mind. He'd known about the beautiful contestant for this season, former college basketball superstar turned coach, having a hell of a shitty year after dislocating his kneecap in a charity game. Eddie--foolishly, it turns out--thought he wouldn't be as attractive in person. He also expected Steve to be terrible and egotistical, a jock through and through.
So, when Steve Harrington walks into the tent in a short-sleeved polo and obviously ironed jeans and is still drop-dead gorgeous, he's fucking flabbergasted. And then Steve has the audacity to be nice? Kind and thoughtful and running to help other bakers when he still has work to do himself? He also blushes so pretty, high across his nose and cheeks, and god does hewant to be the reason Steve blushes like that.
Eddie is beside himself.
Leading up to the second week, Steve schools himself into being calm around Eddie. He can't afford to lose his cool like that every time the host is around. Except, this week Eddie flirts with him shamelessly. Winks at him, leans into space, calls him "m'lord" with this deeply resonant voice that makes Steve want to drop to his knees. Steve doesn't mean to, not really, but he flirts right back, feeding Eddie tidbits of his bakes and looking for any excuse to touch him.
Steve does well for the first half of episodes. He never wins the technical or star baker, but he's regularly within the top contestants. On episode five, though, something is off. He's distracted, forgetful, doesn't leave enough time for his custard to set in the signature. Eddie asks if he's okay, but Steve shrugs and smiles, says "off my game today."
But then, in the technical, he curdles his buttercream more than once, and his genoise sponge burns. Eddie watches as Steve folds his arms above his head and disappears from view. He doesn't hesitate, he sprints from his interview, falling to his knees in front of the contestant.
"Stevie, sweetheart, what's going on?"
"I get migraines," Steve whispers. Trails of wet streak down his cheeks. "I've felt one coming all morning, been trying to stave it off but--"
"Okay, okay," Eddie shakes out his hands. "You can sit out this challenge, yeah? Or take this weekend off. It happens. You'll come back next week--"
"I don't want to stop." More tears fall from his eyes.
"What do you need?"
Steve shakes his head, wry little smile pulling at his lips. "Time to breathe."
Eddie glances up, eyes catching on the camera crew hovering in front of them. He throws both middle fingers up and says, in the most reasonable and even tone, "fuck!" Everyone in the tent looks at him, but he doesn't stop. "Shit!" "Bitch!" Motherfucker!" He goes on and on, saying the filthiest series of things he can think of. The camera crew steps away, another contestant brings Steve a glass of water, and Eddie sits with him.
The other host announces that there are thirty minutes remaining in the challenge.
"Well. That's that, then," Steve says. He stands, patting the naked skin of Eddie's knee where it shows through the rip in his jeans as he goes.
"Wait, what do you mean?"
"Out of time, no cake, no buttercream."
Eddie hops to his feet. "You're going to let that stop you?"
"Well." Steve laughs. "Can't serve this." He gestures to his discarded bowls of frosting, his burnt cake.
"You have time to make another buttercream."
Steve raises an eyebrow. "Sure, but not the cake."
"Cut the burnt off. Cover it in the buttercream. Easy peasy."
"Okay..." Steve stares at his station. "Okay, that could work. It won't be pretty, but--"
Eddie, knowing he's no longer needed, steps away, and Steve gets to work.
Steve tells Robin all about it and, as soon as he gets home from the taping and she's immediately like, "Eddie Munson, huh?"
He shoots her a look. "It's nothing."
"Yeah, him leaping over a table to check on you is surely nothing."
"Robin," he warns.
"What?"
"Eddie would never want a guy like me."
She laughs but quickly grows sober. "Steve. Of course he would. He likes you."
"It's nothing, really." He walks towards the kitchen. "What do you want for dinner?"
Eddie experiences the same harassment from his band members and their manager.
"You're gonna ask Harrington out, right?" Gareth asks.
"That would be a little bit of a professional conflict of interest," he deadpans. He doesn't look up from his guitar.
A puffed Cheeto smacks him square in the forehead. "Hey!" He shrieks.
"He means once the season is done, Edward," Chrissy says.
He wipes the cheese dust from his forehead. "Not a good enough reason to call me Edward. Anyway, I'm pretty sure he's straight."
Jeff guffaws. "C'mon, dude. No way. He's so into you he might as well have a neon sign."
"He divorced a woman."
"That doesn't mean anything, and you know it," Chrissy says.
Eddie rolls his eyes. "I may be considering asking him out. Maybe."
Everyone cheers. More Cheetos hit him in the face.
---
To Steve's great surprise, he makes it to the finals. Not just makes it, he gets a star baker, gets first in the semi-final technical. He's baking in the final and might have a fucking chance.
It's with great surprise, once it's all said and done, that he hears his name announced as the winner. He doesn't have much time to process it, because Eddie is striding towards him. He's not carrying the cake stand trophy or flowers, it's just Eddie.
Eddie who stops in front of him, eyes shining. Eddie who leans in and whispers, "I knew you could do it, baby, I'm so proud of you." Eddie who twines his fingers through Steve's hair, pulling him into a soft, sweet kiss.
The internet explodes as the season airs. Everyone is obsessed with Steve and Eddie. They have fics on ao3, a dedicated tumblr community, edits, playlists, gif sets, a ship name all dedicated to them. The fandom grows after episode 5 airs. Not all the footage makes it, thanks to Eddie, but they still witness him tenderly taking care of Steve and directing the cameras away. Fans start scouring their social medias, looking for any hint of their relationship status; even beg them in comments and DMs to reveal if it was just a showmance.
Eddie and Steve, however, are happy in the quiet little world the carved out for themselves after filming. They aren't ready to reveal anything, even hints, whether or not the show would let them.
Then, the final airs and the kiss is revealed to the world. The ending title cards show a picture of Steve with the rest of the season's bakers and the caption, "Steve threw a party for the other bakers..."
The picture then changes to one of he and Eddie, arms wrapped around each other. This caption says: "...at the home he shares with his boyfriend Eddie."
That night, in bed, Steve says, "I'm really glad Robin and the kids made me go on the show. But do you think it's bad that the thing I'm happiest about, way more than winning, is that I met you?"
Eddie places a slow circle of kisses in the dip of Steve's lower back. "Sweetheart, I'd be disappointed if you said anything else. Now, hush, I have a baking champion to congratulate."

Part One
Baker Steve and Rock Star Eddie wrong number AU
Part two
"Steve! You have no idea!" Eddie's laughing, and that always makes Steve laugh, too. He's clearly a little tipsy. "Everyone went mad for the cake! It's was just, gone! Here, I'll send you some pictures!"
"I know what it looked like Eds," but Steve's grinning, knowing he's talking to empty air, can hear Eddie very vaguely mumbling to himself as he looks through his camera roll. Next to Steve' ear, his phone vibrates several times.
"Anyway, Stevie, I was thinking," Eddie's back now, still clearly tipsy but sounding uncharacteristically sheepish, "it's Christmas kind of soon right? Going to need a cake or two there. New year. Easter. Birthdays and bar mitzvahs and...and... independence day...so I was thinking I should get my orders in now, you know? Avoid disappointment."
"Eddie," Steve starts, finds himself turning shy himself, "you don't have to have a cake on order just to talk to me."
"I, ah, don't?"
"No, I mean, pretty sure we're friends, right?"
"Friends," Eddie starts slowly, "there's, like, lots of different kinds of friends."
"Sure, sure," Steve agrees easily, butterflies running rampant in his stomach, "there's even, kind of, more than friends, really."
"That sounds really really great-"
"Eddie!" There's a cacophony in the background, people shouting, "man, you're missing your own party-"
The line goes dead, and Steve's left standing in the dim light of the evening, just staring at tomorrow's cake order where it's cooling on the racks. A minute later, his phone buzzes in his hand, "so sorry baby, talk tomorrow."
Steve smiles at his phone. He had gone a little quiet after finding out who Eddie really is. It had kind of surprised him. But then Eddie had text him, "did I do something? 😞" and Steve realised Eddie's entitled to his privacy, the same as anyone.
"Hey Stevie, how's your day?"
Steve has Eddie on speaker phone as he mixes batter, "pretty good so far, you? You hungover?"
"No, no, didn't get that wasted, too old for that nonsense now, you know?"
Steve laughs, "aren't you like, 25?"
"I mean, maybe. Definitely old enough to, like, think about settling down, you know?"
Steve's breath catches in his throat, excitement and nerves after their interrupted conversation last night, "yeah, you, thinking about that? With, uhm, someone?"
"Yeah, I am, it's just..." Steve's heart sinks in his chest," my job, you know, I travel a lot, and that would be a sacrifice for anyone, and I couldn't ask someone to live with that, you know?"
"Well...what if it wasn't? What if they just...went with you?"
"What if...this person...had a job they loved? Their own business they worked hard for?"
"Yeah," Steve agrees slowly, "but what if...well, take me for example. I love to bake, but I don't love my business. That's just a means to an end, you know? I don't always love the orders, I'd choose to make something else if I was doing it for fun. So if it were me, i'd give it up in a heartbeat as long as I can keep baking."
"Yeah? You mean it?"
"Yeah. Yeah Eddie, I mean it."
"I, I mean, sure. Good. Thanks. I mean, not thanks, I mean, good, that's great."
Steve grins at Eddie's ramblings.
"I'll be away though, soon, for a couple of months, like four months, so, maybe, we could keep talking and when, I mean, if you want, what I get back..."
"I'd like that." Steve fist pumps, silently celebrating. "You never actually told me what you do for work?". Steve's teasing him, but Eddie doesn't know that Steve knows so, Steve grins to himself and keeps his voice even.
"I ah, music?"
"Yeah, you have mentioned that before, but what about it?" Steve knows he's being a dick, he just can't help it though.
"I ah, travel, with the band," Eddie starts slowly, and that is technically not a lie, Steve thinks, "and I kind of, look after some of the instruments and...have a lot to do with the sound checks? Like I'm definitely always there, for every sound check, like, I have to be."
All of that is probably true, Steve thinks, and god bless Eddie for not wanting to actually lie to Steve.
"Oh right, and what's the band called?"
"Oh, they're like, heavy metal, you've definitely never heard of them."
After they get off the call, Steve laughs all afternoon.
