¿CÓMO ASÍ? ((8/10))

— bouncy, flowy, upbeat, catchy, and cunt. no complaints for this song. simple and sounds good. her voice in it is so goddess and fits the beat perfectly ..

ME PONGA LOCA ((7/10))

— beginning of the song reminds me of passion fruit. she's conceited, needy, and has a bundle of emotions that she doesn't want to hold back. love how upbeat the album starts off and the beat of this song. this song is basically saying she's a softie and sweet person at heart but she gets ahead of herself at times. she's a lover girl, get it right !

IGUAL QUE UN ÁNGEL + peso pluma ((9/10))

— the beginning of this song reminded me of the beginning of fue mejor. i love the way words, especially in spanish, roll off her tongue. "la favorita de dios" sounds so perfect coming out of her mouth. the feature in this is perfect too, they sound so good together and peso pluma understood the vibe of this song and matched it perfectly ..

the whole song makes me feel dreamy. it feels so secure, confident, but also graceful. "she's god's favorite and she knows" but not in a way that she's showing off. and the whole premise of the song: there are people who want fame and money but the only thing that remains is the love you held in your life and your soul. i think it's cute and sweet ..

instrumentals in this is good too, i like the bass and the shiny sparkly feel the synth gives, it's not overwhelming. the soft beat in it feels like i'm partying on a pink cloud ..

— perfectly executed. you can feel the emotion in this song. it reminds me of a telenovela antagonist trying to keep the main character away from the main love interest. reminds me of "if i can't have you no one else can" ..

YOUNG RICH & IN LOVE ((7/10))

— this one's catchy, feels intimate, and flowy. this is what a calm high sounds like. by the way she's singing it you can tell she's feeling clingy, full of love to give, and peaceful. the background vocals all add on to it too. she really does sound free how she says ..

the statement she's making in this, finding more than one way to say "you're mine" and the way you can FEEL the need in her music, the craving for experiencing more and more of what she's feeling. she's drunk on the feeling of infatuation for her partner ..

the instrumentals act as a compliment to her voice and vocals. overall i really like it. i feel like the intimacy she sings of is what a lot of people crave, especially being in love. it's talking about the intimacy and connection of sex rather than the pleasure which she captures perfectly ..

— i loveee the cocky conceited feel in this song. she knows her worth. this is the perfect "your loss" song. it's classy and smooth. she speaks of how that person made her feel rather than who the person was which is the most important part ..

— this song felt like the definition of heart eyes. it feels warm, embracing, and comfortable. it also felt excited for what's to come next. assured and happy knowing that with this person (don) she feels protected and wanted. i can feel her gratitude for the love in her life and how she's reciprocating it tenfold ..

MUÑEKITA + el alfa & jt ((10/10))

— when i say i want old reggaeton back this is wtf i'm talking about. the time changes, the beat, the features, language used, the way it's executed, PERFECT. it's like a perfectly made and connected puzzle. the beat reminds me of ivy queen ..

the el alfa feature is such a nice element and made the song what it was. it glued it all together, he brought in a lot of those reggaeton elements needed. especially his transition into kali's verses, the way he calls her in for her verses, etc. the transitions are really what make it all cohesive and add in that reggaeton element as well. the pauses mid song, transitioning into the transition is something that should have never stopped in latin music. + the slang used by him adds another cherry on top. the reason why he's still on top is cus he's never changed his flow, even when bad bunny blew up and everyone wanted to be like him, he stayed consistent. he's showing these younger reggaetoneros how it needs to be done ! definitely hoping she continues to make music with him ..

she studied, majored, and graduated with a degree in early reggaeton cunty music ! the beat changes and their timing is perfect, this song was beautifully crafted. she put her ass into this song and it shows ..

LABIOS MORDIDOS + karol g ((8/10))

— yumminess. i love how they compliment each other's voices, karol's sweet but present voice mixed perfectly into the song. and the way kali dropped her verse with a quick beat change was a perfect element for this reggaeton song ..

HELADITO ((7/10))

— love the sparkly feel of this song. it's sweet and has a nice build up. one of her underrated songs from this album ..

DAME BESO // MUÉVETE ((10/10))

— this one made me feel nostalgia like crazy. this is def something my father would have in his playlist. reminds me of how my parents would say we were leaving from a party, it's 4am, but would stay talking to people for 20 more minutes. when this song plays i'm laying across chairs, sleeping, and with a stranger's jacket on me ..

the seamless transition into the next part of the song, the time change, the groove of it all. makes me want to move my hips, get up, and dance. perfect execution. the song's ending brings me back to everyone saying bye to each other when leaving the party. definitely one of my faves ..

OVERALL RATING :: ((8/10))

final thoughts :; this album highlights how versatile kali can be and how good she can execute each spanish genre. she touched a lot of genres that haven't been executed correctly in years.

i was definitely expecting more boleros and now i would loveee to hear her in more older spanish genres ( banda, norteño, tejano, + )

this album definitely felt like the result of RMIV, like the baby of the album in a way. both albums feel connected. in RMIV you HEAR her neediness and CRAVE for proximity and closeness but in orquídeas she sounds satisfied and like that craving has been quenched. also with both of the albums having flowers as a big part of the art, RMIV feels like the mature, grown parent of orquídeas, especially with both of their color palettes.

now compared to sin miedo, i feel like you can hear her progress and how much more creative she got + her use of more instrumentals in her music compared to then. she found her balance in the vocals and instrumental parts of her music.
