Ongoing Series - Thai

Laws of Attraction (Sat iQIYI) 2-3 of 8 - Oh good, we now know that Thailand has the same statutory rape laws as the US. Dub con is as dub con does. MEANWHILE Oh my God I love evil lawyer cutie so much. Him and his beautiful weaponized smile, maybe my new favorite character. I like the way this director is playing with noir mystery tropes, settings, and archetypes too - it’s feeling very 60s pulp, I’m getting gay Travis McGee vibes. Grandma knowing that her grandson likes boys is so sweet. I have to be completely frank here, this is what I wanted from both Manner of Death and KP. I truly love this show

Hidden Agenda that isn’t hidden (Sun GMMTV YouTube) ep 3 of 10 - It’s a very Cyrano de Bergerac kind of narrative... If Cyrano fell in love with Christian instead of Roxanne. Mock date was fun. 

Low Frequency (Sat iQIYI) ep 4 of 8 - Into the lion’s den. Investigation begins. Why isn’t the ghost acting lookout? Who are these random side characters? I’m confused. Half way through kiss is right on schedule tho. 

Wedding Plan (Weds YT & iQIYI) ep 2 of 7 - The kiss was nice, but it’d be nicer if Nuea had punched Lom. Manipulative arse. A trash watch is happening!

Be Mine Super Star (Mon Viki) ep 4 of 12 - Meh. 

Dinosaur Love (Sun iQIYI) ep 5 of 8 eps - The hazing has begun + secret relationship and it’s kinda like a v soft SOTUS. Dino is getting a bit too controlling and obsessive for me so it slid down the ranks. I much prefer La Cusine’s version of this dynamic. The friends protecting Dino’s interests were funny tho - boy is so obsessed he outsources his stalking. 

Be My Favorite (Fri YouTube) ep 10 of 12 - Max is BEST BOY. I hate Kawi. Tra la la. Trash watch here.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Jun & Jun (Korea Thurs Viki) 2 of 8 - Our ex idol is a total FLIRT. Nice to see an uke with agency. I mean baby girl is a newbie worker bee… but still flirty, good for you, sweetie. I see your little lip bite and so does your soon to be husband. Speaking of, I love Choi Jun’s style of seme aggression: a little sleezy + a bit too handsy + ultra clever with his words. Plus tie tug!!! Also threatening to take off your TAILORED suit so baby wears your shirt and smells like you? HOT. Boy you sped right past American style and into Italian - that’s real Corinthian leather, that is. 

Stay By My Side (Taiwan Fri Gaga) 5 of 10 eps - Mid series kiss right on schedule. Thank you for never upsetting me, Taiwan. Omg. Such boyfriends. Only Taiwan gets this sappy. I have to say, I watch this show after Tokyo on purpose. (I need the pallet cleanser.) Still, I’m scared that the perception will be that Bu Xia is using Jiang Chi, not in love with him, when the truth about ghosts comes out. Why doesn’t BX’s useless sister do something for her disaster brother? I guess JC likes a needy boy? Oh no, the kiss confusion. Lip touch but rejection (?). Nooooo. I suppose they have to draw this out for 10 eps. Gah, they’re so cute. But BX is a bit dim, isn’t he? Poor thing. 

Minato's Laundromat Season 2 AKA Minato Shouji Coin Laundry Season 2 (Japan Thu Gaga) 4 of 12 eps - Shin is such a worrywart, over protective, over the top boyfriend. I guess we saw a little bit of give from Minato? More than usual, baby steps. This is Japan after all.

Tokyo in April is... AKA Shigatsu no Tokyo wa (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 7 of 8 - Japan’s favorite trope = the running of the gays. Kazama knows everything now. Ep ends on one of my few triggers. SKIP! Japan you better NOT go there.

Vian the series (Vietnam YouTube ) ep 11-12fin - terrible ending, he turned back into a cat and the whole thing was pointless. I am very annoyed. 4/10 FATALLY FLAWED

8/11 Love Class Season 2 (Korea Fri Viki) 10 eps - Hyun, Minwoo and Joo-Hyuk are looking forward to their freshman year at college. But trials and tribulations of love that await them outside the classroom: from learning about maturity to being unable to forget the scars of past lovers. (All new cast from season 1.)

8/19 Love in Translation (Thai Sat One31) ? eps - Two strangers start working in a cafe together.

8/20 My Universe series begins (Thai Sun iQIYI) 24 episodes - This is sampler pack BL, 12 pairs, each pair gets 2 episodes, not entirely sure on the order they’ll drop in. Known couples include EarthBank from Destiny Seeker and KaownahTurbo from Love Stage!!!, mostly fresh faces otherwise. Jane to direct several. 

8/22 Kisseki: Dear to Me formerly known as Miracle (Taiwan Tues ????) 13 eps - From screenwriter Lin Pei Yu (We Best Love, H3: Trapped) features a student doctor forced to take care of a gangster. I love the premise and like the writer, I’m thinking Viki or Gaga will get this one.  

8/24 Man Suang (Thailand movie domestic cinemas) - historical drama about Thai burlesque with KP’s MileApo. Tong is in this one too? 

8/? Sing My Crush previously Follow The Wind (Korea ????) 8 eps - supposed to have released in the first half of 2022 this is a adaption of Myung’s webtoon, from the director of My Sweet Dear, and the Love Tractor production house, looks like Korea does About Youth.

8/? Why R U? (Korean remake)  is supposed to be out this month, filming started in sept 22. I find everything about this hilarious. I mean if Korea remakes it, we lose all the sexy and then... would we have a story at all? No we would not. Not even for six short eps. It’d be like one of those mesh shopping bags. 

We can probably expect a new BL from GMMTV too, to slot into BMF’s spot mid month.

hi i'm skeeverboy and here's my review of every tfb album (not including singles or eps but maybe i will at some point)

I Hate My Friends (2008)

despite being their first and least finished albums, it is one of my fav albums of all time. it's unique and definitely not for everyone, but the garage/basement sound and unique vocals are so charming. it has this whole immature feeling in both instrumentation and lyrics that i'm just obsessed with. i really like the background vocals and the entire shouty kind of singing this one has.

fav track: push-ups

rating: 9.5/10

My Grandma Vs. Pneumonia (2009)

very similar in sound and vibe to IHMF, with the same acoustic recorded-in-someone's-basement feeling (this is because both albums were in fact recorded in random basements and garages). it feels a little more finished than IHMF, and the songs have a bit of a different vibe that i don't know how to explain. ultimately though i put it in the same category as IHMF and frequently forget which songs are in which albums.

fav track: the bass is too loud

The Front Bottoms (2011)

absolutely amazing album. it has all the charm of the first 2, with significantly more development and more of a finished feeling. it starts off with an amazing first track and there's really not a dud on this album at all. both versions of the cover art are beautiful. the lyrics in this album are just like some of my favorite of all time and often times soul crushing. i love it. enough said.

Talon of the Hawk (2013)

another absolute banger. it has a lot of the same vibes as self titled, though it started getting a lot higher energy. while still angsty and gut-punching, it's also a lot easier to jam out to than their self-titled, with more electric guitar featured and absolutely banger choruses. maybe a little bit overrated, but a great album nonetheless.

Back On Top (2015)

another one of my favorites. it's nearly completely abandoned the more acoustic feeling, aside from chunks of songs like the beginning of West Virginia. pretty much every song can be either cried to or rocked out to in the car. even though there is one song on this album that i kind of hate (summer shandy) the rest of them more than make up for it. fun electric guitar parts, the epic wind section in 2YL, the hard hitting lyrics in songs like Plastic Flowers, it's all just amazing.

Going Grey (2017)

everyone hates me for my opinion on this album but ultimately it's just kind of meh for me. it's not bad, but it's my least favorite TFB album. the entire sound of the album isn't my favorite, and at times the vocals feel a little dull, which i mean the vocals are like the number one reason why i love the front bottoms. some of the lyrics leave something to be desired, especially considering past songs.

i don't hate the album though. it's high energy, really transitioned TFB into IS&IF and YAWYHOW smoothly. it has a lot of good songs while remaining pretty true to the core TFB sound.

In Sickness & In Flames (2020)

ok on my tier list i admit i ranked this one way too low. it pushed the band into a new direction, with the autotune and the way more developed and finished sounding instrumentals. pretty much every song is high energy and catchy. it strays way more into the pop side of tfb's pop punk/emo sound, which is fine but not exactly my thing. i think they do it in a really graceful way though and most songs on here are bangers

You Are Who You Hang Out With (2023)

this one is significant for me because it was their first full-length album they released while i was actively a huge fan. it was exciting and i heard a few of the songs before the album's release live, so i'm definitely biased in this one. the autotune is a little weird, but it works for me. the mix between brian's unique voice and the autotune and just the general sound of it are really good.

i'll admit it did take me a minute for it to grow on me, especially as an early tfb girlie, but grow on me it did. outlook and batman both feel like really nice tie-backs to the older sound, almost sounding like they're from TOTH or back on top?? and the newer, weirder songs (i'm looking at you Paris) work really well with the sound of album and such.

Tbh this show isn't really one I'd usually watch because gmmtv generally does not do class very well errr more like when one is rich and the other is poor.

Regardless I like Chimon. I want him to succeed. I don't watch everything he's in but idk I just think he's neat lol

Perth I just love hehe How can I not love the guy whos played the only short top character in live action BL lol Maybe there's been another? if so I'd like to know! But we still need more! I'm Sooooooooo BORED of the height difference trope that is always the same. Like Short bottom? Tall top? groundbreaking….

Anyway just watched the first 2 eps and it's giving real boys over flowers vibes. Is this showing how ancient I am? totally lol Now that's not a knock on it because, well I don't really remember how most of the shows depicted it because I never really watched them since NONE of them have ever cast a girl that I've been like yeah That's Makino Tsukushi, but the manga reallyyy went there depicting how bad school hazing was. But there were still small moments of levity? Especially when the main girl would get the upper hand? Basically what's happening here!

Grandma?? ughh I Want to like her, but I'm so over the obligatory good rich person~ because you see they're not All monsters~!! Even tho your family is probably responsible for high costs of living since your son is a real estate mogul? But how sweet you fund 1 scholarship bleh

Why do I feel like the father is doing shady stuff and that's why he doesn't want his son to stand out? If Kang isn't special less eyes on his family all around…but I could be wrong. Idk I just read his reaction at the suggestion of his son becoming school president as like hell no, we already got enough eyes on us as it is. Or he just doesn't see his son as a worthy successor lol

I do like the 2 different depictions of people in poverty between the brothers. Some people are a bit more laid back like Saifah (almost like Tsukushis dad!! lol). What's a little luxury gonna do? Not like the money would've actually helped in the long run, etc. I do think that Sailom might be a bit too noble?? It's just there's no way someone in poverty would realistically risk losing their scholarship just for pride. This is pretty common in thai bls tho. Gets under my skin honestly lol the ''noble'' poor person. It's just such empty messaging to poor people bcz we know the rich got their money but WE have to be honest?? go away

Oh oh!!! Clothessss!!! This is what I was talking about when I was complaining about Be My Favorite! I didn't want krist to be covered in dirt and rags to convey he was poor but just to have clothes like how Sailom and his friends have! Clean but clearly faded from so many washes. Sailom's house is great too! It really conveys how they're living. I feel heard!!! lol

Anyway I'll keep watching and see how much I can take of the future bad depictions of lower class people lol Honestly these past 2 episodes weren't bad. I only had minor complaints about some of Sailoms decision.

Hi, there! Of course, I can provide you with some Vlad hcs although I think I can't live up to yours <3

And if you don't mind, I'll write your hcs too because I think more people in fandom should know them!

Here we go:

His full name is Vladislav Andreevich Kostromin-Zelenskyy

He's Russian but one side of his family is of Ukrainian origins (I would bet it's on his mom's side but it's me guessing)

He has a twin brother - Viktor (go check @rtmkf 's OC!)

He boasts to everyone that his family sausage recipe is the best in the world (makes sense because when we see Vlad for the first time he's eating a sausage! So, in my mind, one of his family's businesses involves selling sausages on city fairs)

Now I would like to dedicate this part of the post to a slight episode analysis. I sort of gave Vlad's family members professions based on the things we can find on his cart (don't ask me about their names I'm not there yet lol). Let's take a look.

First, I would like all the readers to appreciate the cart itself. Vlad said it's been in his family for generations, so it's impressive how amazingly it was preserved to this day! This leads me to the thought that Vlad is a descendant of craftsmen! And to make ends meet these 100 years ago craftsmen usually wed their offspring with the children of tradesmen and it's not as a far-fetched theory for Vlad's family, I suppose! Because look, Vlad is selling food (sausages, fish), souvenirs, and toys! Not only these goods are homemade but of top quality! So, Vlad has presented his heritage as a craftspeople's kid and it was proved that he has adequate skills to sell them successfully. His ancestors who made a living from trade would be so proud of him.

Let's diverge a little from the topic. I love this cart so much I can't believe Jack destroyed it, ok? ༼ಢ_ಢ༽

That's why I'm rejecting canon. The cart is fine. Please tell me the cart is fine I don't believe Vlad's grandparents would be ok with the fact there is no cart kjashk Besides, Jack and Vlad's plan in that ep was so good I can't believe Jack's falling on the cart wasn't improvised too! When they were discussing how Vlad could impress the monks, both of them came up with the idea Jack should make him mad. And to make that as authentic as possible, Jack should damage something that Vlad holds dear. They build together a replica and the original cart stayed at Vlad's home. Yes, that particular hc was created so I would be calm and sleep well at night

However, let's come back to Vlad's family.

Remember that ointment Vlad sells to Dojo for his scale problem? In the middle of the episode, Dojo refers to it as babushka's medicine for itching. My guess is - Vlad's grandma was either a nurse or her herbs knowledge is so good she would make medicine for domestic needs (and maybe sell them too to earn more money so the family could have an easier life)

look at these cute teddy bears. Look at these wooden toys. This leaves me with only one conclusion. There are toymakers in Vlad's family!

And let me tell you. Russian wooden toys are awesome. Vlad owned many of them because his дедушка (granddad) made those for him. He enjoyed the bear ones and pecking hens.

They looked something like this:

But Vlad's favorite as a tiny boy to a 6 year-old-boy was неваляшка. It's a Roly-poly toy, which despite putting force on it to make it fall down, would always return to the standing position.

I also imagine Vlad's granddad used to make furniture, but once he retired he started making wooden toys as a hobby, which later turned out to be a great way to make a living! Vlad's grandma and aunt are very good at coloring them. Oh, and the other grandma makes these cute stuffed bears you've seen on the cart <3

As for Vlad's parents' occupation? Hmmm I don't know yet? I picture his dad as a butcher and his mom as a weaver, who specializes in making curtains, drapes, bed sheets, decorative towels/ kitchen wipers, etc. This idea originated from my assumption of what might be inside the boxes on Vlad's cart.

Ok, let's focus on Vlad now.

Headcanon no1.

He always wanted to try his hand at woodcarving but his parents would put education in first place. That's why all the children in his family went to English courses, so they could have a new to their family skill. And well, Vlad came to terms with the fact he can't be like his grandpa because he finds English quite useful. Not only can he chat on the Internet with people all over the world but also that skill comes in handy when tourists arrive. They let Vlad be in charge of the business more often because since he knows English, they earn more money.

Headcanon no2

All of the members of Vlad's family lead a quite busy life that's why Vlad wants to help as much as possible. He got so good at doing chores, everything is taken care of in minutes. It means much to his grandparents, who are not as active as they used to be (but don't worry they're quite strong for their age!)

Headcanon no3

Despite his massive build, Vladislav is good at acrobatics and climbing. His PE teacher would always assign him to various sports competitions because the fella is quite fast. And everyone's impressed with his backward flip jumps. That's the reason why jack keeps nagging Vlad they should go figure skating. Unfortunately, Vlad is more of a trampoline fan.

Headcanon no4.

Oh boy, he can cook. Babushkas know how to cook and they passed on the knowledge to the youngest children in the family. And Vlad usually amuses his grandmas with the Internet recipes he tried out. It takes a lot of convincing but ultimately a whole family can enjoy Vlad's dishes.

Headcanon no5, which is the continuation of no4!

When Vlad has meetings with the other Heylins he makes sure not to arrive empty-handed. He brings them treats! Usually Plyushkas.

However, Jack particularly loves Vlad's pelmeni (dumplings stuffed with meat). There's a funny story involving pelmeni. One time when they had no choice but to visit BABUSHKA's home it turned out the owner is at home. So, Vlad had to introduce Jack as his friend. Vlad's granny couldn't contain her happiness because Vlad has a very small circle of acquaintances. However, she bombarded Vlad with questions about Jack's appearance. She expressed her worries he was too pale, too thin... 'He is nothing but a twig!' - she exclaimed and urged the boys to stay longer so she could cook for them. Jack had to stay at dinner and he fell in love with pelmeni with the first bite. Nothing makes a Slavic lady happier than a kid, who eats fast because they enjoy the food so much. Jack also appreciated a homemade apple-plum compote. When they were about to leave, Babushka handed Jack a neat package with pelmeni. Jack was so touched by the woman's kindness and hospitality he shed a tear.

headcanon no6

Jack couldn't stand that communication barrier between him and Vlad's granny he asked Vlad to be his Russian teacher. They have online lessons once in 2 weeks. They both know they should have these lessons more often but showdowns/private lives prevent that. But the good thing is, Vlad sends Jack Russian memes!

headcanon no7

Vlad is so cool he sends dumplings by post. Jack is always surprised but writes to Vlad 'Спасибо тебе за еду' (thanks for the food) the moment he receives the pack. In exchange, Jack sends recipes from his mom's cooking book. 'Dude that meatloaf is my fav I bet your family would love it' - Vlad would often read.

headcanon no8.

Jack and Vlad give off Megamind and Minion vibes. Although Vlad is... not a servant to Jack, for sure. Aand he's like ... a meaner version of Minion ok? But Vlad is always eager to push buttons! Jack lets him be in charge of music just like Megamind let the minion provide music for his performance as the new 'president' of Metrocity.

Jack has found Vlad's profile on one of these shady forums and their first interaction looked something like this.

Jack: Hi. I've read your profile info and I would be interested in cooperation. You're Russian, right? Can you speak English?

Vlad: Sure thing! But first, we have to discuss the terms, boss!

Jack: Oh, cool! I only know a little Russian so I'm glad it won't be awkward haha And before we go into specifics I must know what are your experiences in evil-doing. Because I'm searching for someone who's good at infiltrating.

Vlad: So you want me to be a double agent?

Jack: Yes. I contacted you because my granny has told me if she were to choose a co-worker she would opt for someone from Russia. She told me I can trust Russians, so here I am offering you a job.

Vlad: Your grandma is a wise lady, indeed!

headcanon no10

Jack has problems operating Vlad's toys. He struggles to find out how these can be used and Vlad, running out of patience would turn into Pleakley and yell 'educate yourself!' (however, Jack's ignorance results from the negligence he was a victim of. If we go with that detail from XC Jack had no toys. Yes, Angst.)

Jack didn't listen and hence, was defeated by a large roly-poly lol. The only toy that never fails to amuse Jack is a construction set consisting of colorful blocks of various sizes and shapes. Vlad left Jack alone in his room for 5 minutes and in that time Jack managed to build a whole city. Vlad was impressed but pointed out he can't walk into the room. At that moment Jack realized he would also have problems reaching Vlad in the doorway. The boys, very upset, had to tear down every building. they agreed that normally they would be happy to destroy cities in real life but this procedure is rather sad.

Somehow Vlad can't remember Katnappe's name. Usually, he refers to her by her criminal nickname or he simply calls her 'kitty lady'. The latter makes Ashley angry.

Vlad: Why is kitty lady mean to me? :(

Jack, without skipping a beat: She's mean to everyone.

Tubbimura: She has never treated me badly, hai.

Jack: Sonner or later, it's gonna be your turn.

b) However, Vlad has found out that if he pretends to be sad enough, she would sometimes apologize. She likes Vlad's eye color because one of her first cats from childhood used to make the same pleading stare. (but no one knows that. Ashley is very secretive, after all)

headcanon 14

Jack and Vlad have fallen out with each other after the events of Saving Omi/Finding Omi. Jack wanted no more to be Vlad's pen pal because Vlad immediately went to Chase with the rest of Jack's former team. Jack pointed out during their argument he thought Vlad is different. Truth be told, Jack felt the most comfortable with Vlad and he had the most faith in him, so no wonder he felt betrayed. That was bugging Vlad for a long time and finally, he decided to fix it up. He asked babushka to make dumplings for Jack, bought plane tickets, and set off to the Spicer manor.

'The return of master Monk Guan' is the only ep of season3, in which Jack doesn't appear, so it's nice to assume that day Vladislav visited Jack. Jack hesitantly opened the door because his mom told him to. Vlad awkwardly started explaining himself, he brought up their fantasy about the world conquest and their own reality show and finished his monologue with 'My babushka sends her greetings and hugs. [📰] P1Harmony May Be New to K-Pop, But They're Beauty Experts

"Pots-and-pans music" is what Keeho, the leader of P1Harmony, lovingly calls the K-pop group's songs. They're loud, explosive, and essentially caffeine mainlined through your eardrums — all in the best way possible, of course.

"Because our music is so strong, we try to portray that in our hair and makeup as well," Keeho continues. "For me, my hair is all slicked back for our new song, 'Scared,' and our makeup is a lot darker than [for our debut single,] 'Siren.'"

In fact, Jongseob, P1Harmony's youngest member, adds their strikingly different hair colors, like Theo's whimsical light pink, Intak's sleek jet black, and Keeho's enigmatic navy blue, balance each other out and express the range of emotions portrayed in their lyrics and melodies.

But this is just a basic overview of P1Harmony and the intense aesthetic they've been building for the past six months since debuting in October 2020. In advance of the release of their new EP, Disharmony: Break Out, today, April 20, I sat down with the rookie K-pop group via Zoom to get a deeper look at each member, their individual relationships to beauty, and how they are choosing to present themselves now that they are on the world's stage.

Keeho

When I ask Keeho which P1Harmony song fits his personality best, he replies, "You can't really fit me in a box like that. There are various characters I can be." The 19-year-old from Canada even wears many hats throughout our interview. Not only is Keeho the group's official leader, but he's also their unofficial translator, color commentator, and storyteller — he truly has an aside or anecdote to share about everything.

The first tale Keeho tells dates back to second grade, when he begged his mom to let him get blonde streaks in his hair. "I was that kid in class," he remarks.

Then, Keeho delves into how his family introduced him to the wonders of beauty growing up. His mom, in particular, made him "do a five-, six-step skin-care routine," he recalls. Every morning before school, he'd splash his face with warm water ("must be warm water, so you open up the pores") and wash up with cleansing foam. Then, he'd rinse it off with cold water ("so you close them").  Although this isn't scientifically true, I'm glad this worked for him.

When layering on his serums and creams, "the first one you need to do is the most liquidy one and the last one you need to do is the one that is not liquidy at all," Keeho recalls his mom instructing him — a fact I confirm for him. Also, she'd tell him to never rub his skin-care products on, only pat.  

Last but not least, Keeho would (and still does) reach for sunscreen — "always sunscreen," he emphasizes. "My mom said, 'If you don't put it on, you're going to age like a raisin.'"

Keeho's older sister, on the other hand, brought him into the world of makeup by employing him as her guinea pig for testing out new looks. "I would let my sister put makeup on me all the time," Keeho says, mentioning Halloween as a common occasion for her artistry. They even playfully filmed YouTube beauty tutorials and challenges together.

One aspect of beauty Keeho has yet to try is a manicure, but he's ready to dive into that realm. "I think it would be fun," he says. A$AP Rocky's eye nail art that he showed off front row at Prada back in October 2019 is Keeho's major inspiration.

Intak

Another unofficial title Keeho has taken on within P1Harmony is hairstylist. Intak, the group's 17-year-old charismatic rapper and star dancer, credits him for his hair-care routine. "I learned how to use hair serum to volumize my hair when I go out," Intak says. Keeho goes on to explain that they both have incredibly dry hair, so he recommended his favorite moisturizing products to Intak and told him to rake them through his hair while it's still wet and only slightly towel-dried. Intak was so pleased with the result that he went out and bought the same products that day.

Although he has kept his hair black throughout his career so far, Intak is quick to share he's very experimental with beauty. For performances in the past, he's adorned his eyes with bloody scratch-like liner and ultra-sooty smoky eyes. Plus, you're about to see some cheek art on him and dramatically flushed cheeks.

Unlike Keeho, Intak didn't get into skin care until after debuting. "I've started visiting the dermatologist frequently," he says. "They gave me a set [of products] that includes [everything I need]." His favorite is a mask infused with avocado and peppermint, like the Tonymoly I'm Real Avocado Mask Sheet or Skinfood's Pear Mint Food Mask, which quenches his dehydrated skin.

Jiung

Spoken like a true Libra, Jiung is the first to mention he enjoys expressing himself through beauty and fashion. "[They are] really important things," the 19-year-old explains in English. "I always try to learn how to express myself that way. So the more I know, the more I can do."

However, when I ask Jiung what kinds of looks he feels the most confident in, he laughs before taking time to think about it. (In the meantime, Keeho shares he knows what he, personally, is least confident in: T-shirts, due to his long arms.) "This is hard," Jiung groans. I must say his short honey-blonde hair — a look he's always been curious about trying — is definitely bringing out a particularly magnetic side of him, as seen in the P-side track video for "If You Call Me."

When he was younger, Jiung dabbled in all different kinds of haircuts, colors, and perms, he lists off. The latter of which he looks forward to trying out again now as a K-pop star.

When the members were just trainees, Keeho helps Jiung recount a time when he wanted to fill in his eyebrows. "He did not how to do it at all," Keeho says. "He got a Sharpie and started coloring in his eyebrows. It was devastating, to say the least, for the people who had to see it."

"It was art," Jiung interjects. Now, he proudly declares he has a proper brow powder.

Theo

Theo, P1Harmony's straightforward vocalist, is admittedly a sneakerhead. He strictly wears Jordans, according to Keeho's translation. Air Jordan 1s are Theo's favorite style, but he can't pick a color that he's the biggest fan of. He can tell you what he feels least confident in, though: shorts and short-sleeved shirts. So if you barely see Theo in summery clothes, now you know why. (However, he doesn't offer up an exact explanation.)

Since elementary school, the now-19-year-old has permed and colored his hair every shade of ROYGBIV, including red, gray, and even blue for one summer break — all thanks to his mom, who is a hairstylist. This is a revelation even many of the other members weren't privy to, much to the chagrin of Keeho. "It's annoying me right now because his hair is healthy," he remarks. "My hair looks like a broom."

Knowing his hair is healthy comes as a shock to me, though, as Theo has gone from white-blonde to rosy-pink over the past six months. (Let's be real, that's a transformation few people's hair can handle.) He's also been able to grow out hair; it falls past his eyebrows and is starting to graze his shoulders in the back.

Honestly, Theo is ready for it to be short again, he shares. "I like my long hair, but I don't like it being in my face," he asserts. "I can't really maintain it. I bleached it so much that it flips in all different directions."

Soul

Before our interview officially started, the members and I exchanged weird facts about ourselves to get to know each other better beyond our beauty routines. Keeho revealed his left eyebrow has been twitching lately, and he needs to cuddle a body pillow to fall asleep. Intak has a freckle on his finger that his grandma often mistakes for dirt and tries to wipe off. Jiung had pet geckos, scorpions, and tarantulas growing up. Jongseob loves mint chocolate. Theo can't burp, and Soul enjoys petting insects.

But that's not the weirdest thing about him or any of the members. The strangest thing about the boys is that "Soul doesn't do anything at all [for his skin-care routine], and his skin is actually pretty good," Keeho says. (You can scroll through Soul's selfies on P1Harmony's Twitter to confirm this, but spoiler: His complexion is immaculate.)

Soul, 16, goes on to explain that his skin is incredibly dry and sensitive, so much so that even cleansing makes his face turn red and any bit of friction causes bumps to form. Needless to say, he's scared to put anything on his face. "I just do cleansing foam and leave it at that," Soul admits. Makeup isn't off the table, though. Soul is no stranger to subtle washes of pink shadow on his lids and fake eyebrow piercings made out of silver studs.

Although Soul is seemingly one of the shyest members and keeps to himself for most of the interview, he's an intense rockstar at heart. He favors P1Harmony's more aggressive, hard-hitting songs, like their new title song, "Scared."

Raise your hand if you'd like to see Soul with thick, black kohl or graphic blue liner and long, raven hair, perhaps paired with a studded leather jacket over a ripped-up T-shirt. OK, great; I'm not the only one. For now, we'll have to appreciate his bob-length ashy-blonde hair.

Jongseob

Other than his nuggets of knowledge about the way P1Harmony reflects their music in their hair and makeup, Jongseob mostly listens throughout the interview. Luckily, the 15-year-old rapper/songwriter did pipe up to share his skin-care routine.

First, Jongseob double-cleanses to remove his makeup, starting with cleansing oil and following up with a foam cleanser. Serum is slathered on next, then moisturizer. When his skin is feeling especially dry, Jongseob layers a gel cream on top as a sleeping mask — a tactic I'd never considered before. Typically, I reach for them in reverse order.

Jongseob's hair has also been through the wringer since P1Harmony's debut. Last October, he colored his hair lilac and gradually went darker shades of purple until it was an electric violet hue. Most recently, though, his dye job has been a fiery orange. Next, Jongseob says he wants to try gray with an ash tone.

And this is just the beginning of P1Harmony's journey through the mystical world of K-pop beauty. This time next year, they're sure to have experimented with even bolder, brighter, and more eccentric looks. This Christmas was your first Christmas with your boyfriend Jakub Vrana, a Washington Capitals forward.

It was your first Christmas spent without your family.

You and Jakub decided to spend the holiday in DC just the two of you because of the pandemic. You did not want to put any family members at risk.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving you practically begged Jakub to go pick out a Christmas tree for the apartment. Luckily, you two discovered a tree selling location down the block, and picked out the most perfect tree within 5 minutes of your arrival.

Next stop: Target! You needed ornaments and other miscellaneous Christmas decorations. You ended up spending over $300 during this Target run…

You spent all day Sunday decorating.

Fresh stockings hung up on the wall next to the Christmas tree. (They would be on a mantel, but the apartment lacked a fireplace.)

Holiday candles lit and placed throughout the place.

Brand new Christmas pillows on the couch. Your personal favorite was the snowman pillow. 

These pillows paired nicely with the two fuzzy blankets laid out on the couch. One red blanket and one green blanket. Jakub claimed the red blanket the minute you placed it in the shopping cart. He believed using the green blanket would be backstabbing the Caps.

The tree was adorned with white lights, of course, and red, gold, and white ornaments. It lit up the entire apartment. The tree looked beautiful. You two purchased a gold star to put on top, too, but you mutually agreed to save this piece until Christmas Eve. It was tradition to hold out on putting the star on top until the 24th. You were very pleased that Jakub agreed to continuing this tradition for you.

There was one final “decoration” the two of you needed: homemade sugar cookies.

“Please help me decorate them!” You pleaded with Jakub while decorating.

He sighed, “What’s in it for me?”

“We can eat them while watching whatever Christmas movie you want!” You say with puppy dog eyes.

“Do I have to physically make the cookies?”

You shake your head, “I will make them! And the icing! All by myself! I just want help decorating please!”

“Fine. I will help.”

You clap and jump into Jakub’s arms. “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

Jakub retreats to your shared bedroom while you decide to turn on some Christmas songs. You shuffle the Christmas playlist featuring Justin Bieber’s Christmas album and Ariana Grande’s Christmas EP. Your favorite! (Also happens to be Jakub’s least favorite.)

You head into the kitchen to make the sugar cookie dough using your grandma's recipe. As you are making the dough you realize you forgot to get something at Target: Christmas cookie cutters.

Your heart sinks to the bottom of your stomach. You pause the music and stare at the dough thinking about what to do.

“You ok, babe?” Jakub says while walking into the kitchen.

“I forgot to get cookie cutters!”

Jakub giggles.

You start to glare at him, “It is not funny. I was very excited!”

He stops giggling. “I will be right back. Don’t do anything!”

You are confused as Jakub runs out of the apartment without giving you any time to question him. You shrug it off and flop on the couch.

30 minutes later, Jakub comes bursting through the front door with a plastic bag in his hand. 

“What did you get?”

“Cookie cutters!”

Your jaw drops, “Where did you get them?”

“The pharmacy. Down the street!”

“Awwww! You didn’t have to do that, baby.”

A giant smile appears on his face, “I wanted to make you happy! I had to do it for you. I know how excited you’ve been to make these cookies and decorate them.”

You leap over to him and give him the biggest hug possible.

You skip into the kitchen with the cookie cutters humming Christmas tunes.

You spread a little bit of flour on the counter so you can roll the cookie dough out without it sticking. As you do this, Jakub comes up behind you and wraps his arms around his waist. You smile as his warmth gives you butterflies.

Your smile turns into a giggle. All of a sudden, Jakub’s hand is in the flour, grabbing a giant handful. He throws it on to your face and you shriek, “Jakub!”

He laughs like a mad man.

“I can’t believe you did that!” You yell. You want revenge, but you know throwing flour back at him would be too predictable. Instead, you laugh it off and he laughs his way out of the kitchen.

“Start the Roomba at least!” You direct him as you hear his laughs all the way to the bedroom.

You shake as much of the flour off of you as possible. A giant pile accumulates beneath you, but you know the miniature robot vacuum will come clean it up for you.

The dough gets rolled out and you use all the cookie cutters that Jakub picked up. Candy canes, snowmen, trees, stockings, snowflakes, Santa, reindeers, and mittens. Every Christmas cookie shape you could ever possibly think of.

When you are done shaping cookies, you shout out to Jakub that decorating time will begin momentarily. You whip up a giant batch of icing, using none other than your grandma’s recipe, and divide it up. You put different colored food dye in each individual bowl of icing. Green, red, blue, yellow, and black.

Luckily, Jakub comes bouncing into the kitchen just in time.

“Let's decorate these bad boys on the table!” You suggest. Jakub agrees with your idea and helps you move all the supplies over to the table.

You both sit down and start decorating away. You start off simple: decorate a candy cane cookie. It turns out perfect and looks just like you wanted it to. You place the beautifully decorated cookie on the plate designated for the finish designs.

You look over and notice Jakub decorating a Santa cookie.

Poor Santa looks like a mess, the way Jakub is designing him.

You start to chuckle, and Jakub notices. He pauses and looks up at me, “What?”

“Santa is looking a little funny.”

“What are you talking about?!” He seems completely shocked.

“Here let me show you what to do,” you say to him and grab a spoon of the blue icing. You lean over the table and smear the icing all over his face.

You smirk at him despite his eyes being shut due to the icing. “Revenge!”

“You are the worst!”

Now, you are laughing like a madman. Through your laugh you manage to get out an, “I love you,” to Jakub.

He scoffs and wipes the icing off his eyes, “You are lucky you are cute.”

Normally I don’t even bother with hiding spoilers but since the new season is so close I’ll put everything below a cut (if tumblr cooperates) because I do want anime-onlys to enjoy the season with as little knowledge to what madness is about to happen as possible. This is just a bunch of notes that filled my head over the past couple days.. weeks? A long time.. and if I didn’t write them all down somewhere I wouldn’t stop thinking about them.. so if you understand this whole mess, then kudos to you.

So, here’s your post-season 1/ch37+ spoiler warning.

Demon language:

With Mujika and Sonju making their grand first appearances, I hope actually implement the demon language this time?

The only word spoken in the language in season 1 was the demon god’s name, which was just changed to “Him” (sub) or “The One” (dub), so ignoring it there was fine.

Granted, our demon friends don’t say much in their language during the upcoming arc, aside from this moment in ch48, but I can see the anime passing it off as a mere whisper between the two of them just so they don’t have to worry about it.

I don’t recall any of the GP poachers using the language though.. right? Pretty sure they don’t..

Anyways, all I’m saying is that they better figure something out by the Ayshe shows up way later in future seasons.

Episode count? 24?

Short answer: I don’t think so? Did once, but stuff happened. Anyways..

Season 1 ended in March 2019, which is also when we learned we were getting a second season and once we found later on that S2 was originally going to air in October 2020, I immediately thought we were getting about 24 eps.

I thought with all that time between seasons, 24 eps would be reasonable and that S2 would end at ch101. S1 managed to adapt 37 chapters, so 64 chapters in a season twice as long sound decent enough, right?

By the time we reach ch101, it would give us the demon forest, shelter B06-32, Goldy Pond and the short trip to Cuvitidala. (all of which would make this long wait for s2 sooo worth it btw.)

By this point we learn a bunch about the outside world, Norman being alive, what happened to Phil, and the demon bastard himself.

I bring up ch101 as a stopping point because it’s the last chapter before the two year time skip and.. I honestly can’t see them doing a time skip mid-season?

I mean, they could if they wanted to, I guess? Having everyone age up suddenly between episodes via a montage, a quick summary or even flashbacks of what we missed.. but maybe at the start of a season? Not in the middle.

Right now we know anime original scenes are going to be included into season 2 so I’m kinda hoping that once we do eventually reach the time skip we learn more about the search Emma’s group went on for T7W/golden water/temples.

I counted. If S2 does indeed get this many episodes, ep23 (or 22, if there’s a break in between somewhere or whatever) will land on my birthday and you can bet I’ll be beyond happy

HOWEVER! all the hope I once had about a 24ep season vanished due to the clusterfuck that was 2020. Thanks to the worldwide pandemic, many anime were put on hold and pushed back several months, with TPN airing this month rather than the original October date.

It was a bummer hearing about the delay at first but I never complained about it. I much rather have the studios prioritize their employee’s health over production.

Even if S2 did reach ch101, or even Goldy Pond, they would need to find a ton of new voice actors, and with how the world is working now.. eh, I have some doubts.

Cloverworks also has two other series airing this month aside from TPN so needless to say they’ll be a bit busy, especially if employees are still working from home, social distancing, or however they’re managing to produce these anime.

So, episode count.. 12?

The main reason I have a hard time grasping the idea of another 12ep season at all is because.. I don’t know where it’ll be a decent place for it to stop?

S1 ending at ch37 with the kids escaping? Perfect. You can’t question that decision. But now? When a whole bunch of craziness is about happen? How do you choose another perfect moment to end a season with?

No matter how many anime original scenes they have planned for the demon forest, I believe we’ll at least reach B06-32, which will get us to ch52.

Could they go farther? Sure. Perhaps ending at ch59-60? It would leave us off with Emma & Ray leaving the comfort of the shelter to follow Yuugo into yet another demon infested forest, much like how S1 left off, as the escapees left their once safe, comfortable life into the unknown world.

Or end at ch64? After Emma gets snatched by the poachers? It could work. It would certainly leave everyone wanting more, especially us manga readers because goddamn the GP arc would be SO close!

Perhaps ch74 after seeing Norman alive? Just so it’s not a big darn secret anymore to those who are going into this season blind? (how do people manage to stay anime only? i’m not trying to make anyone feel bad.. i’m just impressed? i caught up to the manga right after s1 because i didn’t have the self control to wait!)

Ending on that chapter would be so bittersweet to me.. because you know what appears in ch75 and it’s literally one of the only things I care about.

S2 preview trailers already teased some of the demon forest scenes I’m most excited about, so the only things left that will truly excite me are Yuugo and that darn outfit. (seriously, whenever we do get to see emma in her gp outfit for the first time, someone better scream at me so i can die from happiness.)

Okay, and all the GP kids too.. especially their trio!

Could they fit the Goldy Pond arc into a 12 episode season along with every other event that came before it? I.. seriously hope not? 

Compared to s1, which was very dialogue heavy, GP is about as action packed as we’re gonna get in the near future, and those scenes are going to fly by once they get put into motion.

Quick example (because it was recent and i can’t think of something else atm): the Overhaul arc from My Hero Academia. Off the top my head it was about 40 total ch? That arc took up half of the show’s S4, which was a total 25 eps.

So with the GP ending at ch96, it’ll give us about 20-30 chapters (depending on where you personally see the start of this arc I guess? once yuugo leads the duo through the forest, when emma gets snatched or when the battle actually starts)

If GP were to happen in s2 where there’s 12 episodes.. literally everything would be so fast paced and I don’t want them to rush anything or leave stuff out?

Other options?

It’s very wishful thinking and I would be getting my hopes up for nothing, because I know it won’t happen, but I could possibly see them fitting GP arc if S2 was made up of 18eps?

6 eps for the demon forest, 6 for Goldy pPond, the remaining 6 to accommodate B06-32, Cuvitidala and any other anime original scenes as they wish.

Although fitting about 64 chapters into 12-18 episodes sounds a bit much.. but not really? I seriously have no idea at this point how much story we’re going to cover this season.

Could I perhaps place all my hopes towards a second cour later this year? Like for the summer.. or would I be expecting too much?

This all could’ve been avoided if they just tell us! Seriously, I’ve been thinking about episode count since last year.. and now you have to deal with this mindless chatter of mine.

I’d honestly be okay with another 12ep season though. We waited this long that I’ll just be excited to see all the children again.

Anime-only scenes:

Those 3 days the children spent learning from our demon friends? Yes please! Did you know Emma not only learned how to use a bow and arrow but a freakin’ harpoon as well? Like.. hello?? I must see this!

Perhaps they’ll even adopt some of the extra pages from some of the chapters, like they did in S1 with the flashback of Norman being sick in ep10.

I know this will be such a high hope, but I remember in ch177 how Emma claims that after they escaped, they all remembered how kind Isabella really was, so if they decide to adapt the extras from ch41-42 & ch45, I’ll cry.

And these pages? Cloverworks, please..

I’m literally begging here..

Especially these two! Even though I still doubt we’ll reach Goldy Pond if we get 12eps.. but in the future! Please!

Other random nonsense:

I may or may not get emotional upon seeing Isabella at the very start when she goes to confront Grandma Sarah. If her hair is kept down as it was at the end of S1 then I’ll give the anime staff my sincere thanks.

We only heard 15 seconds of “Identity” and yet it has been living in my head rent free ever since that trailer dropped. I need to hear the full song sooo damn badly, y’all have no idea.

Here’s hoping they don’t cut out the inner monologues again. At this moment I don’t remember any specific ones from the demon forest I want to see but I’m sure they’re present.

I’m ready to die at every cute Chris moment they give us.. and this entire scene where the kids scold Ray. 

Literally every scene with Emma & Ray. They’re my top 2 favorites from this series okay? Of course I’m going to fangirl over them. (they already showed the hug in one of the trailers and i damn near cried)

If we see him, (which i’m sure we will, but i still have tiny some doubts) I hope they give Yuugo a fantastic voice actor.

Also, his nicknames for everyone!! Literally everything about that man I’m hyped for.

Again, very doubtful we’ll get GP in a 12ep season, but whenever that arc decides to grace us with its presence, “63194” better play on full blast when ch92-93 gets animated.

Speaking of music, while I’m completely excited to hear the new OST that Obata has in store for us (thank god he’s doing this season again btw!), I hope we hear some of those unused tracks from the first season, specifically “Their Own Thoughts.”

Every time Emma mentions their future, their goals or how her family will always be together, I’ll cry. (thanks demon god and your stupid reward)

Yes I’ll be doing those reaction posts (if you follow me i’m sure you’ve seen them by now) after every new episode as I do with other series I watch.. once I survive the usual long day at work, avoiding anything TPN related so I can watch in peace and quiet when I finally get home.. damn it, im already so anxious, help.

Exit Rant & Rave of Extraordinary You

Because I was watching with a friend and often had to go to sleep immediately after, I did not blog much commentary as I watched the series, but tonight I’m saying fuck sleep and writing some thoughts as I’ve just wrapped up the series.

Obviously stuffed with spoilers to the brim. (It’s long and I probably forgot something.)

Every character in the story believed that the changes they made had some superb effect one way or another the WAY they WANTED or BELIEVED they went/would go, without any proof. Dan Oh believed from get go she could save herself through changing her story. Without a single proof. Similarly, Kyung believed changing her story would kill her. Also without proof, other than his want to keep everything same as on stage. Meanwhile, to a reader it seemed obvious that while Saeguks are all about the tragedy, high school romcom is not likely to have a death of a character on whose romance there’s been quite the focus. Of course, that’s an outside POV. And desperation to live could spark such an idea in Dan Oh, I imagine. But it really got very frustrating around ep 24-26, how all of them kept blaming each other for ‘changing the story’ and dooming Dan Oh, even for things that happened in Trumpet Creeper when neither even REMEMBERED if any of the Stages got changed!!! This made the eps/that part drag for me and frustrate me and it deducted points from story, for me.

Similarly, as watcher/reader it was obvious Writer very much liked Kyung and some readers had been upset with the outcome, so Writer wanted to redeem him through a properly done romance where he Learned to be kinder/had happy ending, and the way to do it while telling a fresh story was to write Haru out and put them in background. More points in ‘Dan Oh ain’t gonna die’ goal. At one point I wondered if messing with the story really wouldn’t end up killing her because maybe grandma was meant to die and she wasn’t.

I still like @gizkasparadise​ theory his little brother was Writer’s self insert. The other option was he had mad crush on sulky Kyung.

This is how to do a Soulmate trope without mentioning soulmates right. While essentially nothing changed from Writer’s plan, Haru’s and Dan Oh’s feelings were so strong they basically drew him back into existence. His consciousness was tied to hers, it materialized in attempts to protect her and then into the world. Not to mention, all the lines they finally got to say as they had wanted to, the way they couldn’t forget each other. This is something that Dried Squid Fairy glossed over when they spoke of ‘mere extras that can be erased’ when they spoke of comic ending. That he already broke through it once just because he loved so much.

Also the cinematic parallels of him Remembering her and going into the next world versus her Remembering him as she goes into the next world. Whew.

Some more points are docked from the story for the way Do Hwa could NOT keep his mouth shut about anything and how much trouble he caused, but while that made sense for his character overall, the way Dried Squid Fairy told Kyung about erasing one’s self awareness was entirely plot-serving and made no sense.

DSF as narrative foil to Haru and Kyung as narrative foil to Do Hwa was gorgeously done.

Joo Da is Aro, in my head. While I can see it as Polyamorous thing, for me it’s more of an Aro being confused as what counts as ‘liking’ and ‘loving’ someone romantically, so intense care and friendship gets mistaken as one and therefor she just wants them all 3 to be together, happy, and can’t pick one, sticks with the one that needs her more as friend. She really seemed to struggle with word love and also never saw any kisses, on Stage or otherwise!

As a clear proof of being extensively spoiled for story doesn’t replace watching experience, I did not expect to have SO many feelings about DSF and his lady. I think I teared up over them before our main couple, oops, when he treated her to a meal. The YEARNING. Somehow, the way she played a soft matchmaker when Dan Oh forgot, the way they mirror each other... They were very powerful baseline for what the show was telling, putting it all in a sharp and cutting focus.

“Congratulations on graduating from this world” was one of the, if not most, powerful line in the series for me, somehow. The bittersweet taste of it. ‘You endured through the pain and the longing. You learned. You grew. You are leaving it all behind. And maybe there will be no more you, or me, ever. Congratulations. You did well.’ Oh god. I just can’t deal. (I need this on gifset)

Kyung is Fuckyung as my friend deemed him. That’s all. While I did feel sympathy for him at various times and was like “Dan Oh, if only you gave him chance to speak/didn’t literally run off to Haru quite in most brusque/fuck you way”.... He still Fucked up, he was still messed up and chose some really messed up things even full aware of making those choices and consequences. His ‘redemption’ was short and without proper momentum and idk. I hope he can be happier and more whole in next volume.

Speaking of which, I am so upset most of their belongings and memories like photos and such disappear. And that we can never know who will live through iterations, how many lifetimes Haru and Dan Oh will have. The thought Sae Mi might’ve gotten through to uni life and DSF and Do Hwa might not have... Fucks me up, in a bad way.

Also what’s the deal with ERASING a world? I’d never erase my own worlds. And I like to think that after story is finished, if you think about it and things like fanfiction keep it not being ‘shut down’ like this.

Also it’s a SOFT COVER BOOK, it’d not shut so loudly, lol.

I really loved the softness of our couple. Like, YESSS. Perfect. Overall, this did so many of things I love right and even when it went into territories I wasn’t fond of, it was still quite good. I can say, yeah, this goes in top favorite drama list. It’s hard to say good bye to it and watching it with my friend was a huge highlight of my April.

He was one of my first guy friends ever and he was very nice to me from the very beginning; always made sure I felt like I belonged in a crowd. Also studies in UP and I think he is taking up sports science because he wants to go on to med school. abby/abbey: This is my mom’s name. She goes by the first spelling. I know an Abby from high school; she studies in La Salle now. adam: I don’t know him personally but there used to be a dude from WhatCulture Wrestling (a popular YouTube channel) named Adam – he was my favorite to watch until he got caught in a major fuck-up and was booted from the group. adel adrienne ajee

ajla alan: I have an uncle named Allan. He was part of my dad’s friend group in college; they met each other in their org. I was her VP last semester, but she had personal problems and so she wasn’t able to work much under me. Whenever she did, though, she was always reliable. Quiet girl, a little socially awkward. amari amber andrew: I first met him at a rally/protest I attended in 2017. Hit it off well right from the start because I saw that he was wearing a wrestling shirt, so we bonded over WWE that day. He plays the guitar and has released his own EP, is a junior DJ at one of the hip radio stations in Manila, and has done his fair share of hosting gigs. He used to take up engineering but shifted to journalism as he likes it better. Is very adventurous and amiable but tends to get too friendly; some might find it tiring but I honestly think it’s just his personality. He was my groupmate in communication research and I thought he was decent. angela: My best friend’s name is Angela. We first met each other in Grade 1 when we were 7, and we became friends after I stabbed her palm with a newly-sharpened pencil. Betty’s kind of like a goofy nickname; she actually doesn’t use it but I think it still counts. I’ve known her since first grade; she peed her skirt in our first day of Grade 1 and I remember her crying a lot. There’s an unofficial norm in private schools in that when you’re older, you get to be mean to the younger kids. Not her. A really poorly edited political ad on tv a couple years ago. There was weird jazz playing, flames in the background of an image of the Capitol Building, and then the top of the dome opened and this guy’s face was inside. It is the single funniest ad I have ever seen and I laughed for 10 minutes so hard I was like an inch away from passing out.

Passing my driving test next month, getting a job, figuring out if my math skills are okay enough to take the SAT or an equivalent test.

My fingernails are short bc I picked them while reading earlier, my cuticles suck bc I pick at those two, and my pinky is obliterated and scabbed because of when I accidentally sliced through the nail with a razor while shaving the other day. So, not great, but I’m living.

That kids can be really annoying but also really cute and hilarious if you can get them to calm down. And also that baby fingernails are surprisingly sharp.

Every December, my mom and I drive around after dark at night and I play Pokemon and we rate everyone’s Christmas decorations based on tackiness.

So isolated I was as a preteen/early teenager, my self harm, and the internalized anger over my abusive relationship and PTSD.

Yes, I have several that remain from self harm, scars all over my left knee from being a clumsy child, and most of all a major scar down the center of my chest from heart surgery when I was a baby.

I think a 7, usually. My pain tolerance is pretty high because of a) years of self harm, and b) due to my PTSD my muscles are constantly tense and in pain anyway.

I was 4, and it had been loose but it fell out when I was trying to blow up an inflatable ball.

“The Grinch” Stands Out with Tyler, The Creator Feature

As the fall season changes and winter time rolls around, the radio begins playing Christmas music and movies to match the festivities beginning to emerge. However, whether you hate or love Christmas, the new animated version of The Grinch is an amazing movie for anyone of all ages. The movie is more aimed toward children in regards to the plot, but the soundtrack was more aimed toward teenagers for sure, including popular artists like Tyler, the Creator and Brockhampton, one of the many reasons Tyler is trending. Among many other things, The Grinch is just the cherry on top of Tyler’s career for 2018. There’s also a couple jokes squeezed in there like any children’s movie for the parents or adults watching.

The plot has been altered from the original Grinch movie because the 2000 classic the upperclassmen grew up with was a bit more raunchy and had a more detailed back story for the Grinch and other characters in Whoville. This new remake more revolves around Cindy Lou Who and the directors added in an element of a lesson for younger kids to learn from, as Cindy asks for her mother to be happy for Christmas and it shows to be generous, appreciative, and caring of those around you. It’s cheesy, trust me, I know, but it’s cute for younger kids. However, I know my friends and I, and many other Tyler fanatics were really excited to hear Tyler, the Creator was going to be featured on the film’s soundtrack.

Tyler Gregory Okonma is a well-known rapper from Ladera Heights, California. He started his music career in a rap group called, Odd Future with 10 other members. His music in his early career was very profane and somewhat controversial, but throughout his career he grew from his not so good choices when he was younger and released more calmed-down albums such as “Flower Boy.” All in all, he’s basically a legend. His music is unlike any other rapper, in 100 percent  honesty, even my grandma likes his “Flower Boy” album. Plus, if someone is listening to him for the first time, they can try listening to a song from each album and see what they like, because “Goblin”, “Wolf”, “Cherry Bomb”, and “Flower Boy” are all extremely different. His first major album, “Goblin” released in 2011 had a more depressing, angry mood to it, while “Flower Boy” well- I think you can tell from just the title how they differ in moods.

Tyler also has dabbled in other side interests as well. During the time of the rap group, Odd Future, they had their own television show on Adult Swim called, “Loiter Squad.” Sadly in 2015, Odd Future broke up, but together they created “Golf Wang” a clothing brand still going today. Fast forward to present day, Tyler, the Creator is truly thriving. His clothing brand has gotten so big; he has a pop-up shop in Los Angeles, California, his own “Golf Media” app, an animated show, “The Jellies”,a show about things he is passionate in and how they work, “Nuts and Bolts”, and of course his feature in the Grinch.

Tyler went to the movie premiere in New York City and in an interview with Access, an entertainment news show, he said, “They kinda came to me interested and I was just fully shocked...With Christmas music there’s certain chords that you can just really get into and that’s where I went with it. The music I grew up on for Christmas was like Donny Hathaway and “Let it Snow” by Boyz II Men, so when they showed me the Grinch songs, I wasn’t too familiar,  but I was like I definitely want to take a stab at it because it was just something I’ve never done.” He really is a unique artist in the way he is always willing to do something different that no one has ever done before. I mean come on, a rap verse in “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch?” It’s crazy intriguing. Tyler also said, “It turned out great. There’s a song called, “Lights On” with me, this kid named Ryan who’s really talented, and Santigold-it’s impeccable and I can’t wait for you guys to hear it.”

He released two songs that were on the Grinch movie soundtrack, “I am the Grinch” and “You’re a Mean One” although he also released a Grinch EP including the songs, “Whoville”, “Lights On”, “Hot Chocolate”, “Big Bag”, “When Gloves Comes Off”, and “Cindy Lou’s Wish”. After listening to all the songs definitely more than once, I can say my favorites are “I am the Grinch” and “Big Bag”. Ten out of ten reccomend each and every song and the movie though, as he is a great artist in general. He was very excited to see it all together, and hopefully everyone who watches the movie and listens to the songs will enjoy it, I know I did.

But upon listening to the record - and, more importantly, reading its lyrics, which are included - it becomes obvious that the Frogs aren't crazed racists filled with hate. Sure, the album's topic is inherently controversial and the cover art features drummer Dennis Flemion costumed in blackface. The Frogs album that they recorded in 1993 was to racey for any labels to release. A sticker on the front of Racially Yours proclaims it 'The Most Controversial Album of All Time,' but, like most of what the Frogs do, that statement is quite over the top. Musically the duo still know how to make astoundingly epic rock & roll, fractured folk, and heaven knows what else out of their particular stew, and as seems to be their preferred style, they're at their most outrageous when creating the most accessible music. The Frogs latest, Racially Yours, an album playing on racial stereotypes. When they both try out on an occasional duet, the results are even more disturbing - "Where's Jerry Lewis?" tears down that particular icon and more in a mere one-and-a-half minutes. Nirvana and Mudhoney and getting sampled by Beck on his hit Where Its At. Some of the more insane songtitles will confirm that much: "Which One of You Gave My Daughter the Dope?," "April Fools (He Had the Change Done at the Shop)," "Children Run Away (The Man with the Candy)," and the immortal wrongness of "Who's Sucking on Grandpa's Balls Since Grandma Ain't Home Tonight?" As before, the split between the two singers - Dennis Flemion's rasping multiple characters and Jimmy Flemion's sweetly vile troubadour - makes for even more entertainment. This controversial album by the Frogs consisted of tracks that were recorded in the early 1990s read more. To say that My Daughter the Broad is clearly a Frogs album and nobody else's is like saying the Pope is Catholic - there's no question about it, it simply is. A slew of selections from these tapes ended up forming My Daughter the Broad, a nicely rough counterpoint to the slicker, near-contemporaneous Starjob EP.
