roses know how to speak volumes because they bloom only when given discipline, tainted red wine spilling over in my thoughts like a linen, you occupy my mind and darling I swear this must be sinnin’.

mind like a taxi, driven all night, but im on E. need some lovin fuel in my life. parts busted, oil spilled on my heart, im beyond repair, rare and rusted.

You shouldn’t ask someone to do something for you that you want and that shows affection. If you have to ask, it wasn’t part of their plan. If their doesn’t include what makes you happy, reevaluate the fantasy you created in your head and make a plan.

Black Women Poem

why is feminine melanin seen as resilience?

 like metal, so strong they can take on anything. 

So strong, they should be prepared for all the struggles they will “inevitably” take on as a black woman.

Beaten down and scars mark their heart, but vulnerability’s a sin, so much hard work and dedication but still asking for respect on some Aretha Franklin.

All I’m saying is life shouldn’t have to be back breaking, backpack full of burden on this battle of a hike that only goes up

Where’s the sunrise to get them through the day? When do we say enough is enough? We all need to take action there’s no other way.

Accountability is uncomfortable but it’s time for us to be tough, rough it out for something bigger than ourselves.

Maybe it’s not my place and I apologize I just wish everyone felt safe in this place we call land of the free. 

(I wrote this on instagram with a photographer’s photo of a black women and she reposted and the model even texted me !!  idk I was just so proud lol :) )

beauty is the way your eyes light up and your energy changes when you talk about things you are passionate about.

beauty is the feeling of late night drives with the windows rolled down and its not too hot and not too cold. 

beauty is making something and being so proud of it.

beauty is the scent of homemade meals and spending a cold night in surrounded by warm hugs from people you love.

beauty is so much bigger than ourselves. 

beauty deserves to be freeing, and loving, and kind.

beauty deserves to feel guilt free and attainable.

so why is feeling ugly so relatable that it's become trendy?

how exotic, for us to all bond over hating our bodies and longing for something seen as so physical, when it is so much bigger than ourselves.

beauty is normal. and extravagant and exotic and ugly. 

beauty can be the scars on your lover, how ugly the memories are but how absolutely beautiful to be past it.

beauty is in everything. normalize seeing the beauty in the ugliest of things. normalize acne and crying and being different body shapes. stutters and disabilities and the ability to express vulnerability before its too late.

Hazy

I feel like a barbed wire fence that kids sneak through when they’re not supposed to. Broken and used, but tough and tense, constrained and stuck in one place no matter how much pain I may have. The wire cutters tear through layer and layer, exposing myself to people feels like a blur. I’ve been a part of many people’s path but never was I as eye catching as the sky or a stop sign.  Internal Renovations May be on trend but it’s silly for me to think I can be completely fixed in the end, I’m not just bent I am busted. The glue of pretty words and shiny metal hearts can’t mend me. But I’ll let you continue passing through, besides it’s all they’ll ever do.
