i appreciate all the kindness for my uni rejection, and anyone going through the same thing should def read through my replies if they need similar comfort. there’s a lot of “ATAR isn’t everything!” comments tho, which made me realise i haven’t actually talked much about my goals, so i wanted to share a little context.

i’m 30 (on the 17th). i took a gap year after high school and i went to uni at 19. i even dropped out a semester before graduating to pursue the one thing that was making me happy (my first original comic) during a really bad depression (undiagnosed adhd burnout). i got the last units and graduated a year later, a bachelor of game design.

haven’t used my degree once. i went into comics and freelance rather than games. but i also loved that degree and would do it all again, it was absolutely worth it.

i’ve been freelance and self sufficient for 6-7 years, and it’s fun and i’m proud of the things i’ve made, but i’m so tired. i’m specifically tired of having to work 7 different angles to make up one sufficient salary, and even if it ends up being temporary, i’d give anything for a 9-5. have someone else in charge for once.

got to the end of my rope last year and sat down to figure out what i like and what i’m good at. a Life Plan, yknow. i’ve always had an interest in teaching, helping, connecting like that. figured out degrees and became really invested in this new trajectory i pictured my life going on. i was also tired of waiting, because every time i wanted to move back to the city from this tiny town we’re in, somethings come up or delayed it. so zita helped me figure out how we could get the ball rolling and break our lease 3 months early, so we could move back to melbourne and i could start my degree this year. we looked for (and found) an apartment specifically on the side of the city that would be closest to my campus.

i hope that gives a lil context as to why i’m so devastated right now. the last 5 months have been me revving up to start this new chapter at the end of feb and one little email said nah.

the degree i wanted to do was a double degree, secondary education (hons) and a BA of fine arts. i was equally excited for both, because i never got to do a lot of actual art learning in my last degree, and the BA would give me all of that— life drawing, sculpting, painting, wood/metal/jewellery working, digital, fuckin everything. but it was the less important of the pair, when it comes to getting myself a job as an art teacher, because i already have the art experience. it was just a fun bonus, and the education degree was the one i NEEDED.

in nov i had to travel to melbourne to present a portfolio and interview for the BA. they showed me around the studio too, and i fell a little bit in love. i got the acceptance email in december, but i still didn’t have an offer for the education degree. another reason why i’m so discombobulated— i technically have an invitation, but it’s for the less important degree that would just be a money sink. do i go to uni anyway?? or just ignore this invitation and move on?

my state recently made education/teaching degrees free as a way of encouraging more teacher jobs. i learnt about this after i decided i wanted to pursue teaching, so it was just a fun lil bonus that i wouldn’t be adding to my student debt. apparently not, bc i didn’t think about how every teenager and their dog would apply for teaching degrees so they could get straight into uni without any debt. so, even tho i’m a graduate and i’m not relying on school scores, i was one in a million, likely just numbers on a page, and didn’t get in.

there could be other paths. i could start the BA and add the Edu degree later? i could reapply for mid year intake. i could… idk, most of what i could do requires emailing Monash and asking wtf, because i have no idea what’s actually possible and will need someone to lay it out for me.

still feels like i’ve run into a brick wall though. little bit shut down. more sad, not quite angry, but suddenly really spiteful for some reason— like “oh, you don’t want me? okay fuck you then, i won’t ever teach.” so stupid. just a bit fragile rn

She’s a beauty, she’s a grace, but most of all: she’ll find your base. A quick doodle of Lachlan’s wife, Talullah :) She’s a former intelligence officer in the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS).

180cm tall, 3X years old. Born in Melbourne, Australia but later moved to Perth to be with Lachlan. Formerly Talullah Ann.

Before joining the ASIS, she graduated with a Bachelor of Criminology.

Married twice, both times to Lachlan. They split for a few years due to not being able to handle Lachlan’s hectic deployment schedule and the constant worry/stress for him. She thought by splitting up, she wouldn’t be thinking about him all the time and could move on. Remarried in 2024 after Lachlan’s retirement from 2CDO.

She has limited knowledge and skill with using weapons. She can use a pistol comfortably in addition to Lachlan has taught her some basic rifle and hand-to-hand combat skills. It’s enough to defend herself since she doesn’t participate in combat often.

You’ll mostly see her wearing suits with a long coat draped over her shoulders, plus her favourite black Louboutins. Generally really likes designer things in general.

Like Lachlan, she can be pretty stoic.

Speaking of Lachlan, they both met in their early 20s when she was sent on a short overseas deployment. Talullah paid no mind to Lachlan as he shamelessly flirted with the prettiest (and the only) woman he’s seen in months. It wasn’t until they were trapped together on a mission that she warmed up to him. This was also the time Lachlan taught her how to use a rifle.

Still thinking about the mission but basically: Lachlan heavily wounded, he can only do so much, leaving a scared Talullah to do majority the work to save them. Putting trust in one another, so on so forth- they escape alive (barely), Lachlan is flown out to nearest hospital…yeah

Talullah is based of the song ‘Talullah’ by Jamiroquai. By listening to the lyrics, I thought of a scene where during their divorce period, Lachlan is on the other side of the world in a dimly lit bar, missing her.

“Shall we get my first guests out ladies and gentlemen?” Jonathan says and the audience immediately cheer saying yes

“You ok?” Louis says

“Hmm?”

“Your looking a bit spaced out” he tells me

“Yeah I’m fine”

“YN what’s up?”

“Liam wants me….”

“It’s One Direction” Jonathan says making me stop what I was about to say. I stand in between Liam and Louis as we walk on the stage area, Jonathan greets the boys by shaking their hands but greets me with a kiss on the cheek. I follow Liam and sit between him and Louis straightening out my dress as I do “we had a little screaming then and we had a lot outside earlier. Do you ever get used to that or does it still surprise you?”

“I don’t think we will ever get used to it” I reply “we’re just so lucky to have such supportive fans who are genuinely excited to see us, not that I understand why still we’re just 5 boys and a girl from the uk who can hold a tune”

“You’ve been in Australia for the last part of tour before going to Japan and YN a little birdie told me you got to meet Liams parents when you were in Melbourne and I know you have asked to keep your relationship with Liam private, but I just have to ask, how was meeting the parents?”

Finally we move on from our love lives and we start to talk about our third album coming out

“Who’s the main song writers of the group?”

“These two. Louis and Liam” Niall says pointing to the boys either side of me “they did a lot of the writing on this one” Louis and Liam reach over me and fist bump

“It comes out on the 25th and you’ve announced your single which is story of our life and this one has your parents in it. What a sweet video that is, but YN you have a little tribute to your mum don’t you?”

“I do. When we had the idea for the music video I knew I wanted to have pictures of my mum and some flowers next to it”

“She would be so proud of you but it must have been hard for you since the boys had all their mums on set”

“Yeah it was a rough day, but these boys are part of my family now and their parents are… I can’t even describe to you how much love was on set that day. So many tears were shed from sadness and happiness that day. I also had my dad there on set which helped” Liam and Louis take my hands in theirs and gives them a squeeze.

“YN you are seen crying in the first shot when your developing the photos did you have to reshoot that at all?”

“No Ben Winston who directed the music video wanted it to as pure as possible and he said let all emotions through. It’s going to be another song on tour that I’ll struggle to get through without crying. I think the hardest part was recreating the photos. I obviously wanted a photo of my mum and I, but I couldn’t have that recreated, that’s when Ben suggested a tribute for her”

Sorry it wasn't right on new year's it been busy last few days for me, I am excited to start the new year with you all, many of you might wonder where I am going with my simblr or if I'll still been apart of it yes I will still however it will at this current time still my legacy gameplays like my Not So Berry as I'm still getting to where I was however I may well just change the founder of yellow to suit the requirements, which mainly fits male, I feel the last one I had was female which kind of was a little obstacle, since females don't get pregnant by aliens I forgotten x.x trust me I tried several times before I achieve Uriel being alien, I unfortunately had to cheat his alienness x.x and there was no way to adjust the settings that female can have alien baby, x.x , which bothered me a bit x.x so that generation will have changes when I arrive back to it, and I'm also trying to work with Midnight Sun, Legacy but i had been feeling I might scrap one of the legacies but at this current time its not the idea, I did have some inspo but not sure how it will work if i were to do stories again, was leaning towards first time in a big city and explorieing what it have for offers kinda like how i was in Melbourne, it be nice to have something based around a similar experience, as for me there was so much I wanted explore but not enough days and time, but its something I've had in my thoughts, I also did consider doing Bachelor/Bachelorette challenges with some old characters but I am only a small simblr, so I don't have the connections or not sure if anyone would be interested in sending a sim to me to participate in the challenge Like I did with my very first one on my old tumblr @lilacleni

Ty King-Wall

Born in Waihi, New Zealand, Ty King-Wall started dancing at the age of seven. A Junior Associate of the New Zealand School of Dance, he left New Zealand at 16 to study full time with The Australian Ballet School. Upon graduating dux with honours, Ty was accepted into The Australian Ballet in 2006. Since joining the company, Ty has danced in principal roles across the company's repertoire, and performed in Paris, Beijing, London, New York, and Tokyo. He received the Telstra Ballet Dancer Award in 2010 and was promoted to Principal Artist in 2013. He had the roles of Ceyx in Tim Harbour's Halcyon and Crassus in Lucas Jervies' Spartacus, created on him. In addition to his performing career, Ty holds a Bachelor of Arts (Classical Studies/Psychology) through Massey University, and a Master's in Arts and Cultural Management through the University of Melbourne.
