where is your icon from and why is eddie there did i miss some gg spin-off?

my icon is from the hit 2008 anime BACCANO! which you should go and watch with no spoilers RIGHT NOW its only 13 episodes. its fucking awesome. only thing i will say is it has some gore (people die and are totally fine) my icon is ISAAC and matching with my wife @ysolt who is MIRIA and they are bisexual legends look at them ok ?

eddie is there because i missed having him as my icon but didnt want to unmatch with my wife ^ we are matching sillies

the 1934 arc in baccano is not one of my favorites but there's so much iconic shit in it. huey escaping alcatraz by getting carried out in pieces by his daughter who is birds. ladd's normalguy cosplay. the near-simultaneous chris-ricardo and graham-shaft confrontations regarding them both being sham. isaac grabbing miria's hand at the last possible second. the multiple times chris and graham are in a room together. gustav st germain vice president of the daily days. the one scene where rail spits at bartolo runorata and one of his bodyguards just reaches out and catches it. i could go on forever

Roy Maddock: Iconic Theme-Setter

Shoutout to Roy Maddock and ''Baccano!'' Volume 4 for being the first explicit refutation of a "route to happiness" in a series preoccupied with the pursuit of happiness.

Volume 04 asks: Are drugs a viable means of happiness?

Ryohgo NaritaRoy Maddock answers: No!

It's pretty much ''the'' instance where Narita overtly condemns a happiness route. This is supported by Narita's anti-drug stance in other IPs like ''Durarara!!'', where Mizuki Akabayashi is explicitly anti-drug (this makes him a good Yakuza, whey-o). Okay, all right, so he almost certainly doesn't condone sadism-induced happiness, but never mind that.

I just want to say it has been an absolute blast running this.

The final placings are

KuroFai

TouYuki

DouWata

CCS SyaoSaku

Seisub

All of these spots are well earned. KuroFai and TouYuki were the introduction of many to gay anime boys, staying in the hearts and minds of many in the tournament by grabbing their skulls and squeezing it as hard as possible. KuroFai edged out an advantage, despite being the toughest match for them in the tournament, they held strong at 60-40. So far the only ship to have prevented a 2/3rds majority for KuroFai.

DouWata and SyaoSaku had a much closer match, ending at 55-45 in douwata's favor. It seems hard to match the iconic nature of CCS, but DouWata managed to find itself as the slayer of SyaoSaku, having proven the better of Clone SyaoSaku, Tsubasa SyaoSaku, and finally the original CCS SyaoSaku. DouWata's dedicated fans carried themselves far, campaigning far more than the syaosaku, proving that with dedication they could win.

It seems that clamp fans prefer a moderate amount of angst and an above average number of timeloops given the 1st and 3rd place competition.

But there are the diehards for angst, and for that I want to congratulate the 5th place winner of the redemption poll, SeiSub. SeiSub vs TouYuki in the quarterfinals proved to be the single most brutal match of the tournament. Getting over twice as much as KuroFai vs TouYuki, the finals of this tournament. TB/X fans proved themselves not forgotten when despite facing down the largest Clamp fandom, despite about a third of the voters having never even read tokyo babylon or X, they held off against what would have been the 2nd place of the entire 64 ship bracket. Even in the poll they lost, they got more total voters than KuroFai did in they finals. Even cut short as a series, it lives on with me.

Thank you all for participating in the poll. If you plan to stick around, this isnt technically a clamp dedicated blog. I am also a homestuck, really like pathfinder, and I am currently reading though all the ryohgo narita novels (baccano, durarara, vamp, etc) thank you all for how much fun this was, it kicked up all my love for all clamp series (except suki) and it was a blast the entire way.

With that if you are sad about how your ship did. Everything will be alright.

oh, yes! if i've written for a character before, odds are I think about bringing them back very often. right now I'm in the process of re-reading all the baccano novels, so my old muses from that series are on my mind (graham and czes most notably!).

21.) are there certain characters you gravitate towards?

yes! I used to joke that my roster was always angsty boys, but I also tend to attach to characters who are the embodiment of sunshine. or to women who could kill me, like Gigi here.

i also have an extremely niche type and that's "wears an eye patch or otherwise has one fucked up eye" and i don't know how this keeps happening

As far as I am not a fan of watching anime in English / any other language than Japanese (tho I must say that I love French dubbed Vanitas no Carte for some strange reason) I decided to make a rewatch of one of my fav series - Hellsing Ultimate - in, well, English (Integra's VA slayed ok?) and uhh... I forgot that I shouldn't watch first episode without headphones on. Or actually, entire series.

Please, Seras, I know you are in very bad situation bUT WHY ARE YOU MOANING, STOP IT.

I mean, there is few series that have very good ENG dub

For an example, I couldn't watch Great Pretender in JP because when they used English it sounded horrible. And in ENG version we literally have a moment when characters have Japanese lines from JP dub and everything else is in English that isn't so unnatural.

As far as I remember Baccano! is very nice in English.

Black Lagoon would be nice if not the fact they cut off the translation part in 2nd season? You know, Rock translating things when Balalaika negotiated etc.

SK8 the Infinity in English is just iconic.

There's probably more I just can't think of, lmao.

OHH AND YUUKOKU NO MORIARTY IN ENGLISH. That's some good stuff.

Tho I still prefer JP for their acting.
