i think the thing that sets kirby and mario apart is the like ability to have a story. like even if it's a really simple babygames story there's more charm and momentum which then gives the locations and animations and gameplay more character. whereas astro bot is literally just a tech demo that was expanded into a real game and it feels more like themed nothingness. which again was very competently done it just lacks that something

I want to play skyrim but I can't because I know I'm not going to really play it. I'm going to spend 6 hours in the character creation screen making my buff cat man and then I'm going to spend the next 18 hours killing random enemies I shouldn't be able to with my babygame easy mode mods and ignoring the story completely. But more importantly I'm going to go into every single building and steal literally every item I can find. Herbs and fresh meat hanging on the wall? Harvested. Empty plates and goblets strewn about the floor? They're mine now. Books off the shelf? Brother I am a whole ass bookshelf. I will sneak into homes even when the owner is right there and I will pilfer every single little thing they've got, including the stuff from their pockets. About a third of my game time is spent reloading quicksaves so I can get that 7% theft chance gold necklace that does nothing. And then when I own everything in the land of Tamriel I will be sure that none of my earnings will ever be spent. Because God forbid I would give up any of my belongings including cash. I don't know why I play Skyrim like this but I legitimately get nervous if I see items I haven't picked up even if they're just wooden plates. I am proving all the stereotypes about the Khajiits true at record speed

that being said i barely actually play video games sory I lied. i play like 5 different games a year which are usually like, 1 rerun for nostalgia that ill never finish, a couple multiplayer games with friends or family, point and click babygame vampire survivor or suika game equivalent, and one game that can best be described as being the exception to the rule, but in turn that means it will possess me like a demonic scourge and ruin my brain for months, fooling people into thinking i actually play video games
