Okay, now for my own jumpscare, Baby Strabismus-riddled portrait:

Hmm...you could be onto something.

But I was never a mouth breather. I always kept my mouth closed, unless I was smiling/laughing (rare...I was also not a crier/screamer because all of that just hurt my head and throat...I grew up not being able to girly scream/screech because of that). You won't find any baby pics of me with my mouth like Collins's above. // Also LOL I had pretty long ears. I remember my mother saying that I was a Buddha baby. But I got my ears from my paternal grandma. 💀

Sorry for the poor quality photo, but it's from a poor scan of my high school yearbook that can be found online, and I ran it through AI to try and fix its pixelation (it worked, for the most part).

That pic was the one I may have described here before. I'd wanted to find the full color version of it, which I have on an external drive...somewhere. My onesie is baby blue (ha ha...I dunno if my mother or father were thinking in gendered colors, but I rarely wore pink... there's a photo of me manhandling a kitten — same age as I was in the first photo above — and my sundress is blue/white/yellow). But I do remember it being taken. My father kept trying to get my attention, but I didn't wanna. I just wanted to 'read' my comics section (since I was the one who crawled over to the pile and did that/opened it up like that...parents flipped out about it, father rushed to get his camera, etc.).

I was born with that full head of black hair and still freaking have it. I curse because I turn 50 in less than 24 hours and I have hardly any indication that I've aged (the grey hairs are stray and not always easy to find). I don't even have any wrinkles, unless you count the deepening of the furrow between my brows from being pissy or in pain all the time. The only thing I can see in my face is a loss of fat volume in my cheeks near my ears (but not enough to cause anything to sag... I won't get that kind of saggy unless I reach 75 like my mother). That just brings out my cheekbones. Maybe I should get fillers 💅🏼 LOL j/k I would never.

Anyway. I don't think I have any more baby pics here (they're all back in New England). I do have a couple of me as an older, sullen child with braids who played the cello. (No, I'm not joking...I had braids and played the freaking cello in grade school...upon getting to middle school I traded in the heavy thing for an alto saxophone, which I loved.)

Unfortunately, my cello wasn't black. ☹️

There were many more than that. They put on a huge show for us and I'm grateful to have seen and heard it. There were others that were closer and louder and every couple of minutes there would be a massive swarm moving this way or that way and it got loud af. I can't post my best vid because you can hear me in it (saying "Pls don't poop on us, we're family 😭!" LOL). But trust, there were many, many of them all around our streets here.

Since it’s canon now that Marko, Captain and Olli portray the “young” (~50 year old) versions of the Old Gods, I’ve been using these old Poets promo photos as references for what the Old Gods would’ve looked like back in the 1970s when they were in their late 20s/early 30s (assuming that Tor and Odin are about 80 during the events of AW2.) This is definitely how I envision them when I write my Old Gods fic.

It’s my headcanon that the “projections” we see in the Dark Place on In Between With Mr. Door are how they (except Bob, of course, that’s a whole mystery in and of itself) looked in 1988 when they struck the deal with Door and sealed their fates.
