pleaseeeee i need domestic actual big daddy caddy oneshots/headcannons with his newborn 🥹🥹🥹
Awww, you got it, Anon! One Daddy Caddy with babies coming right up!
Newborn headcanons with Castin
Giving birth is a battle all on its own. For an Imperial Noblewomen? Giving birth means having one foot in your own grave. So, while Castin was over the moon when his darling Baroness announced her pregnancy, happiness was tainted by fear when she explained the very possibility of dying via childbirth.
But despite all the odds, and perhaps the Conquerer and Goddess are watching over them, his wife safely delivered 2 newborn twins who greet the world with a healthy set of lungs and an intrinsic bond forged so tightly between the two for the nurses could hardly separate them without the babies bursting into tears.
Now that their babies are here, Castin is fully prepared to be a stay-at-home Dad until the Baroness recovers fully! Rhett approved of his paternity leave, his lieutenants are more than capable of taking over the army for him, and he has tons of advice from Lilia to help him through.
The first few nights were honestly the toughest: Castin's heart twisted in helplessness at the sight of his deeply sleeping wife. For the sake of her health, the Baroness is hardly lucid nowadays; more often than not, Castin could do nothing but kiss her good morning and good night while she slept for hours on end. The few moments when he can care for her and not be shooed away by the female servants are truly a privilege.
As for the babies... well...
"Daddy's up... Daddy's up," Castin groans when he hears the tale cries coming from the adjacent bedroom. Beside him, the Baroness might as well be dead to the world. Still, he quietly sneaks out of bed to attend to their babies.
The nursery room is one of Castin's happiest rooms. Well, next to the bedroom, of course~ But the nursery is a close second because he and his wife worked hard on decorating the place together. They even painted the walls together! The memory kept Castin going during the toughest days when his wife could barely finish her soup, or the twins wouldn't stop crying for some reason.
Mercifully, the twins just need a diaper change when Castin checks on them. Their tears taper into watery hiccups, eyes woefully wide as Castin cleaned them up.
"See? What are you crying about? Daddy got chu. I'm always here for both of you and your Ma." Castin coos, easily balancing both babies in his arms as he rocks them back to sleep.
For some reason, both begin to sob again. Rather than feeling frustrated, Castin is just sad. "Daddy not good enough for both of y'all? Or is it just missing Mama's hour? There, there. Let's go see Mama, ok? But both of you have to be super quiet 'cause she's still sick."
Bringing the babies to the Baroness seems to do the trick because they quiet down when Castin gently lays them down on the bed between the couple.
"Well, look at that! The babies really miss you, babe. I-I miss you too. So, so, much. Get better soon so you can see how much we need you, ok?"
That night, for the first time ever, the entire family slept as one.

Okay but can we talk about how 🤦🏻‍♂️ and I got in a fight two days ago and I’m still pissed about it?
So I was at his house, and I had the two little ones, and he has a toy closet, and it has a lock on it that’s like rectangular shaped kinda and it goes into a loop, then you twist the rectangle part and it locks, leaving like no space in between the door and the wall okay?
So I went in the closet to fill diapers into the caddy and I closed it behind me cause I didn’t want the baby following me, and it fucking locked.. THE DOOR FUCKING LOCKED.
And I was like ‘UHMMM?!!!!!’
So I FaceTimed my 🌸 and she’s like “well you have to get out of there.” So I broke the lock and I got out, 🤦🏻‍♂️ comes homes from work PISSED AS FUCK. And he’s like
‘I just don’t understand why it’s broken? Like what made you have to break it?’ And I said ‘I got locked in there? And I had to get out????’ And he’s like ‘but I just don’t understand how that happened.. like? It doesn’t make sense’ so I’m like ‘okay fine if you don’t wanna believe me.. IM FINE BY THE WAY. But you can go fuck yourself’ and I went home. Like
I’m sorry? Did I stutter?.. like? I don’t understand.

I fucking love when I find blog that starts off with shit like
"I don't know shit about [insert community] but it seems controversial so I hate you anyway."
Cause like nice job announcing to the world that you're a mindless fucking sheep whose incapable of thinking for yourself and will hate anyone or anything your friends tell you to hate.
Nice job being a shitty, asshole social climber of the Caddy Herron (from Mean Girls) variety, and I mean that as a slur.
It's especially hilarious when it comes to age regression which is used to help process trauma and cope with PTSD.
Age regression therapy exists. Google it.
Cause one of the worst days of my life is when I tried to tell a therapist that I am age regressor and use regression to cope with the trauma of childhood abuse.
Like I had been building up to it by telling her about how I love Animal Crossing and coloring and stuffed animals. What I didn't tell her is that I had a Ninja Turtles sippy cup at home, that I loved using cutesy plates with animals and stuff on them, that I had experimented with using pacifiers (not for me). Or that I had friends who regularly used pacifiers and diapers and baby blankets.
And on the day I was going to tell her about my age regression and the community I was involved in, she scoffed and said that at least I wasn't some weirdo who drank out of a sippy and carried a baby blanket with me everywhere and dressed like a five-year-old.
A therapist told me that. She shamed me for my coping mechanisms.
So if you run a nostalgia or kidcore or whatever type of blog, and you hate age regressors or age dreamers or littles or whatever the fuck you want to call us even though you've never even spoken to us
Go to hell, you shitty social climbing motherfucker.

How does everyone store diapers? Because of our house layout we just keep diapers and wipes in the living room. Weve had them in an ottoman but now Rhyan figured out how to open it and pulls everything out. Our living room is extremely kid friendly so theres no high shelves that we could keep just a normal diaper caddy. Were about to have both babies diapers out here too so we need something

counting downnnnnn downnnn downnnnnn.....
These couple weeks are insane. Nothing quite like it. Trying hard not to hope that labor will start at any moment, but hoping anyway. But also feeling as if one should be grateful for the calm before the storm. I think we are more or less all settled and ready for baby. We have a crib in our room and a bassinet in our closet. A bouncer, a swing, a boppy lounger, two breastfeeding pillows, a carseat and caddy, a stroller bassinet, a changing table, two diaper pails. 9 onesies. Somehow located our electric nail file thing. Cloth diaper laundry is done, disposable diapers are bought, breast pump is set up and random breastfeeding accessories and bottles have been sterilized. I keep trying to clean the house but it continues to get messier and dirtier with each day that we dare to live in it.
Purchases that I'm still thinking about - manual breast pump, afterease, windii - but those are pretty small
I think at this point I need to just REST. and RELAX.
I want to treat myself to
sweetgreen (strange late pregnancy craving is salad. Super bizarre. I am usually ANTI-salad.)
hardenas (indonesian home foods. all the sambal eggplant and coconut curry veg in the whole world please)
federal donut
really excited for my parents to arrive in two days(!)
am knitting (now working on a hat for P), reading, watching youtube... organized and edited my fall winter wardrobe, which i am SO excited to access at least partially in the next three months. I wake up and decide between two pairs of maternity leggings - which is less smelly/dirty essentially, and I usually end up washing them a couple times between laundry days anyway. I keep peeing on them. i have been wearing a couple of my nice sweaters which has felt good, though I can't really tuck them in nicely. And i am VERY grateful for these maternity leggings and also so glad I ended up buying a second pair. BUT I AM SO DONE with dressing this belly.
dear mei mei. WHO ARE YOU!? what will you look like? I can't wait to hold you and kiss you in the flesh. your mama, baba, and jiejie are anxiously waiting for you but i know you will come when you are ready my love. You have made the year 2024 quite special. You are dragon baby. I have waited this long. I can wait another week or so.

"Celebrate Your Baby Boy with Beer: Hilarious Pregnancy Tees"
"Beer Me I'm Having A Boy" is a playful twist on the traditional baby shower, catering to expectant fathers and couples who prefer a more relaxed celebration of impending parenthood. This trend taps into the growing popularity of "dadchelor parties" and co-ed baby showers, blending the excitement of a new arrival with the casual vibe of a beer tasting.
Tumblr media
Buy now:19.95$
Picture a backyard barbecue or a laid-back brewery event where friends gather to toast the future dad. Instead of pastel decorations and diaper cakes, you might find beer bottle centerpieces filled with blue flowers or a "diaper keg" where guests bring diapers in exchange for a cold brew.
Games take on a decidedly different flavor at these events. Think beer bottle baby races, where participants roll empty bottles across the floor, or "Chug for the Baby," where non-alcoholic beer stands in for formula in baby bottles. A "Guess the Beer" tasting contest adds a fun, thematic twist to the usual baby shower games.
Gift-giving gets a makeover too. Guests might bring six-packs with custom labels featuring dad-to-be advice or onesies with clever beer puns. A "Build a Beer Caddy" station allows attendees to create a personalized carrier for those late-night diaper runs.

While mom-to-be may or may not partake in the beer tasting, mocktails and non-alcoholic brews ensure everyone can join in the toasts. It's a celebration that acknowledges the changing dynamics of parenthood, where dads are increasingly involved from day one.
"Beer Me I'm Having A Boy" events recognize that becoming a parent doesn't mean giving up your identity or interests. Instead, they offer a chance to celebrate this new chapter in life with a cold one in hand and good friends by your side.
Xmas gifts for beer lovers offer a perfect blend of holiday cheer and hoppy indulgence. For the festive season, consider a beer advent calendar, featuring 24 unique craft brews to countdown to Christmas. A set of insulated stainless steel beer growlers, adorned with holiday designs, makes for both a practical and stylish gift.

For the homebrewer, a deluxe beer-making kit with seasonal ingredients like cinnamon or orange peel could inspire winter-themed creations. Beer-infused treats like hop-flavored candy canes or beer brittle offer a unique twist on traditional holiday sweets.
Personalized beer steins or glasses etched with holiday motifs add a special touch to their drinking experience. For the ultimate beer enthusiast, consider a guided brewery tour package or tickets to a winter beer festival.
Don't forget stocking stuffers like bottle opener ornaments, beer-scented soaps, or quirky beer-themed socks. A subscription to a craft beer club ensures the holiday spirit continues year-round.

7 Baby "Hacks" I've Found Most Helpful
Tumblr media
It feels weird to call most of these "hacks;" they're mostly preferences. But everyone calls nearly everything a hack nowadays and I got swept up in the trend. I've also seen "hack" posts including similar things to my points in this post, if not exact things, so I'm struggling to find another term for it.
Anyway.
One changing station. I'd seen a video of a mom saying that she kept a diaper caddy (diapers, wipes, rash cream, etc) in every room of the house so she wasn't constantly having to run to the room with the changing table when her baby had a blowout. For the first couple of weeks, I did this too. I kept a pack of wipes and a stack of diapers in the nursery, the living room, and the bedroom so that no matter where I or my fiancé were, we could easily change our son. I decided shortly after that it was too overwhelming to have changing supplies in every room; plus, I lost track of things way more often. I never knew how many packs of wipes we had left or where the hell the diaper cream was, and my son had a particular fondness for peeing all over the couch when I changed him there. So I decided to use his official changing table as the only changing station in the house and it's honestly so much better.
Two beds. In contrast to the last point, having two beds for my son (technically three, if we include the portable pack-n-play) has been very useful. We were gifted a crib/changing table combo that we keep in the nursery and use for his daily naps. We were separately and unexpectedly gifted a playpen/bassinet combo that we keep in the bedroom for nighttime sleep. That way as soon as he cries (or my alarm goes off on nights he sleeps past his feeding time), I'm up and tending to him, and he doesn't have to wait for me to drag myself down the hall. It also helps my anxiety to be able to peek over to the other side of the room and check on him versus staring at the video screen of my baby monitor.
Minimal bottles. When I first unpacked all of the bottles we received as gifts and counted only five, I wondered if I should buy more. I soon discovered, however, that having a limited number forced me to regularly wash them, keeping them from getting nasty and piling up in my sink until I had time. Washing used bottles is now part of my daily morning routine. I further proved this to myself when I was gifted a breast pump that came with about six bottles and, during a few days of exhaustion and executive dysfunction, used all of them and left them sitting on my living room table. Trust me; minimal bottles are your best friend. Unless maybe if your kiddo goes to childcare, then you might want some extra. I'm a work-from-home mom, so I don't know.
Multiple breast pumps. Despite the fact that having multiple pumps enabled my lazy bottle pileup, having options was a blessing. I started off with a Spectra, which if you're unfamiliar is a radio-sized machine that requires being plugged in in order to work. My next pump was a Zomee, which was much smaller and more compact as well as rechargeable, so it was much easier to use. My current favorite pump is wearable, and though it's bulky and a little awkward to keep in place while I'm moving about the house, it's by far the most convenient because I can stuff it in my bra and not have to sit in one place holding the flange to my boob. But my point is that I think trying (if you're able, breast pumps are expensive and I'm grateful to have been gifted the first two) multiple styles is important to ensuring you have a pleasant breastfeeding journey (if you choose to breastfeed - we don't bottle shame here).
Baby laundry detergent. When I first brought my son home, I washed his clothes and blankets separately but used the same detergent as the rest of us. It was plain old Tide, so I didn't think it would cause any issue. it took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize that my detergent was giving him eczema breakouts, so I switched to a baby specific brand. Between that and baby eczema lotion, his breakouts cleared right up. I'd toyed with the idea of switching everyone in the house to baby detergent, but the one I bought was more expensive than Tide, and there are three adults in the house, so the expensive baby detergent would be gone quickly. It's more cost-efficient for us to just buy both.
Hangers. In my current residence, we don't have a standard washer and dryer, because we live on the second floor with a narrow staircase and don't want to risk our lives carrying a washer and dryer upstairs. Instead, my ex-husband, when he lived here, bought a portable washer and spinner from Amazon. I'm sure you've seen it - they've been all over TikTok and Facebook Marketplace. It's not my favorite thing in the world, but that's not the point. It includes a spinner, not a dryer, so we still have to hang our clothes up to air dry them. I bought tiny hangers for my son's clothes, and honestly, it's much easier than having them folded up in a dresser. Putting things away (clothes, dishes, groceries) is the bane of my existence, so I often leave my own laundry hung up in the laundry room instead of packing it into a drawer. Plus, babies spit up a ton, and blow outs are common, and it's much faster to pluck a onesie off a hanger than it would be to go through a dresser.
Frozen pacifier. My son started teething early. Before I started buying proper teethers, since he's only 3 1/2 months old and can't hold a teether in his mouth yet, I decided to stick his pacifiers in the freezer. He absolutely loves it. When his gums are bugging him, a cold pacifier soothes him immediately. It obviously doesn't stay frozen for long, since there's no liquid in it to keep cold, but the initial cold is enough to distract him. His pacifiers now live in the freezer. I alternate them one at a time - whenever he needs a cold one, I stick the one he's currently spitting out back in its place.
I hope some of these "hacks" prove useful to you. Feel free to comment with your own!

no one asked for this but it’s fun making lists so here are the newborn things I actually needed or used frequently:
one place to put him down in every room when I need my hands free (for me, it’s a snuggleme lounger, a quilt on a table or rug, and a baby bouncer)
at least one baby wrap or soft carrier, but you’ll probably have to cycle through lots of different ones before you find one that fits. I tried solly, ergobaby, baby bjorn, infantino, and the beco 8. I loved infantino for the newborn stage (super easy to get in and out of) but switched to the beco when he got heavier and adore it.
carseat + a super lightweight foldable stroller caddy you can click the carseat in and out of (this makes quick trips to the store soooo much easier than hauling the big stroller out)
heavy duty stroller if you go on a lot of long walks (I got a bob stroller secondhand and love it sooooooo much but wouldn’t want to cart it around for errands)
upstairs place for him to sleep (crib) and downstairs place for him to sleep when his sitter is here (bassinet, but could also be a pack n play) + sheets
changing pad (I had the peanut changer pad but my mom claimed he didn’t like it so we switched to a traditional one with washable cloth covers. both were fine)
bottles & nipples
cloth diapers to use as burp cloths
4-5 lightweight swaddling blankets
a mix of short sleeve onesies & zippered footie pajamas
2-3 swaddles in a brand you like (we tried about fifty different kinds and settled on the swaddleme ones… I think any of the others would’ve worked too I just hadn’t learned the houdini/batwing swaddle trick to prevent him from escaping)
baby monitor (get a cheap security camera type and avoid the baby gear price markup)
more diapers and wipes than seem humanly possible for one baby to use (then triple it)
mini fridge to store overnight bottles in the nursery if you live in a two-story place or the kitchen is far away
car window shade decal thing to keep the sun off them in the car
laundry hamper for the nursery
diaper pail (honestly a trash can would work fine too but I do like our dekor pail)
baby bathtub
a foldable changing pad for on the go is nice, but honestly I’ve changed him on a blanket many times and it’s no big deal
things that seemed necessary but weren’t, at least for me:
bottle sterilizer
baby swing
rocking chair (he enjoys it but doesn’t seem to need it and prefers to be lightly bounced a little when he’s upset)
diaper bag/backpack (I just use my purse)
Idk I feel like my mom bought him a ton of swings, play gyms, interactive toys, etc that I assume he’ll probably be interested in later? but this kid is pretty content to just kick & look at stuff and also I’m trying to encourage a low-toy lifestyle lol

When Faye was born Brian’s mother put together a little baby caddy for me. It’s this pink woven basket thing with a few open compartments. It was filled with diapers and wipes and bibs. I used it throughout her first year. At this point though she’s solidly a toddler. She only eats real food. She drinks out of lidded cups. She very much is still in diapers but she is so into everything that it is impossible to keep them cute and neat in a caddy.
So, I am repurposing the caddy. I an filling it with little water bottles and juice boxes and individual bags of chips and it will live in the trunk of my mom-mobile (SUV).
