thinking about girl dad!lando 💭
a/n: hello and welcome!!! first ln4 post of many to come hopefully. i have so many more thoughts about this, so if anyone wants to come chat or bring up some headcanons of their own, feel free to pop into my inbox :)
girl dad!lando who can hardly believe his ears when you tell him you're pregnant. he's at the height of his career, and having a baby would be a huge change. he's still young, of course, but when he thinks about who he wants to do life with for the rest of his years, the resounding answer is you. so finding out that in nine months time, you're both going to be bringing a child into the world—one that could quite possibly turn out anything like you—oh, he's over the moon. he doesn't even know if it'll be a girl or a boy yet, but either way, he's beyond excited.
girl dad!lando who hates missing appointments and checkups all the time due to the constrains of his job. he wants to be there with you every single time, but with training and races and all the traveling, it's just not in the cards. occasionally he'll be able to pop in via video chat or phone call, but most of the time you have to update him after all is said and done, and he hates it. he feels guilty that he can't be there for you as often as he wants to. you assure him time and time again that it's okay; as long as your baby is healthy, it's okay. he'll have all the time in the world to spend time with them once they're born.
girl dad!lando who becomes even more excited when you find out you're having a girl. it was one thing to think about this baby and wonder about all the possibilities. it's something entirely different actually knowing. he hopes with all his heart that she looks exactly her mother, and already knows she's got him wrapped around her finger. he does his research too—sends you countless articles from parenting blogs and tries to educate himself on how to be the best parent so his baby girl will thrive as she grows up.
girl dad!lando who absolutely refuses to miss the birth of his daughter. he doesn't care what race week it falls on, doesn't care how much shit he'll get into for missing it, on this he stands entirely firm. nothing will prevent lando from being right beside you the entire time. and when the day does come, it's the first time mclaren has to bring up a reserve driver for him. he's a whirlwind around the house when you tell him it's time to go the hospital, grabbing the baby bag you'd both pre-packed and sending off texts to everyone important, making sure everything is in order before helping you waddle to the car. and much to your annoyance, he's never driven so slowly through monaco as he does on the way there. you're surprised you don't have the baby right there in the car with the way he crawls through the streets at a snail's pace.
girl dad!lando who nearly cries when he first gets to hold his little girl in his arms. she's just so...tiny, compared to him. she latches onto him instantly, little hand curling tight around his finger like she knows he's her papa. in that moment, looking down at this precious thing cradled against his bare chest, he vows to never ever let anyone or anything hurt her, for as long as he lives. it's like his heart has made its way outside his chest and into his hands. he actually does cry when he looks over at you—the one who made all this possible. he knows for a fact he'll never love anyone or anything as much as he loves the two of you.
girl dad!lando who takes a month or so off to spend time with you and baby girl norris and settles into fatherhood surprisingly well. he's the definition of doting dad too, taking care of everything he can so you can rest as much as having a newborn will let you. he also does a massive amount of shopping, even though baby girl norris had already gotten everything a baby could ever need, even before she was born. they ranged from practical items like bottle warmers and value size packs of diapers (thanks to her uncles checo, hulk, and kmag, who knew what parents actually needed) to a copious amount of formula 1 team themed attire (redbull onesies from uncle max, ferrari bibs from uncle charles and uncle carlos, mclaren everything from uncle osc, you name it). stuffed toys, baby books, hats, bibs, even teeny tiny baby sized sunglasses—baby girl norris already has a fan club of aunties and uncles surrounding her.
girl dad!lando who can't sleep sometimes, so he just watches his baby girl sleep, just so he knows she's okay. and when she cries herself awake in the middle of the night, he's right there to soothe her, picking her up, holding her close to his chest, rocking her back and forth gently. he talks to her too—tells her stories about how her mama and papa met, how much you love each other and how much you love her. stories about his family and your own family, about his racing family, his best friends. everyone he loves already loves her too. one time you rouse from your sleep to find his side of the bed and her crib empty, and you almost panic before spotting a faint glow coming from the living room. upon further inspection, you find him doing laps around the sofa, gently pat pat patting her back to get her to sleep again. your heart breaks wide open at the sight of the two loves of your life bonding.
girl dad!lando who gets so nervous the first time you bring baby girl norris to a race. she's a little bit older at this point, old enough to take in all the sights and sounds of the bustling paddock, but still young enough to where she has no idea what's going on. he carries her on his hip, shielding her eyes and ears from the flashing cameras and loud noises, beelining right for mclaren hospitality as quick as he can so she can get settled before he gets too busy. he worries about her constantly—is it too hot or too cold out for her (you've got a cute little romper and a jacket in the baby bag if either is the case), will she get bored (give her a plastic spoon and she'll be entertained for hours), is it too loud for her (mclaren engineering fashioned a custom set of baby sized headphones just for this occasion). you have to be the one to stop him from pacing a hole in the floor and tell him he's got more pressing things to prepare for.
basically girl dad!lando who does his best to be the best dad he can be for his little girl, even though he might not be around as often as he'd like.

spence-tober: day 31 - bookshop owner
pairing: bookshop owner!spencer reid x fem!reader
summary: in which you bring your newborn son to your husband's bookshop as a midday surprise
word count: 1292
warnings: fluff, talks of children, pregnancy, mentions of labor, bedrest, formula, pump for breastfeeding
spence-tober masterlist
The familiar ding alert of the bell above the door as you opened it was like music to your ears. It had been far too long since you had stepped foot into the homey feeling bookshop and you didn’t realise how much you missed it until you took in the sight you’d seen so many times before.
The lines and aisles of bookshelves to the right and left of you are abundant, but not overcrowding the space in the small storefront. There’s a small lending library in the front window next to the children’s reading space and a counter in the middle with curtains hanging on the wall, leading to the back where you know categorizing and inventory goes on.
“Welco-” The voice belonging to your husband starts to say, his voice ringing out in the room for everyone to hear.
Spencer had his nose in a book, sitting behind the counter on a comfortable stool waiting for customers or anyone else who needed assistance in the store. When he looked up to greet the patron of the store, his eyes instead met yours. His darling wife of six years.
However, his eyes didn’t stay on your form for very long, straying to the bundle all swaddled up in a travel car seat that hung from your arms.
Your’s and Spencer’s newborn son, Gideon Reid, sleeping away in a swaddle unknown to his new surroundings. The tiny small baby with a little hat around tucked at his ears to keep him warm and a cute outfit that you had dressed him in just before leaving the house.
“Oh!” Spencer says in an adoring tone. Quickly he puts down his book and moves around the counter to come towards the two of you.
“What are you doing here?” He whispers as he reaches you at the front of the store. Spencer pulls you in for a sweet kiss and then moves his attention to the car seat, taking it gently in his arms and gazing down at his son. He’s switched to a lower volume to not disturb the sleeping newborn.
In the last stage of your pregnancy, it was getting harder and harder for you to travel to the bookstore which you hated. But when your doctor prescribed bedrest for the last month of your pregnancy, Spencer had put his foot down and practically bound you to the bed, getting everything you need so you wouldn’t wear yourself out or go into early labor.
You smile at your husband who’s looked back to you, a large teethy grin, “I wanted to surprise you.”
Spencer presses another sweet kiss to your lips before reaching behind you to flip the sign hanging at the front of the door to ‘closed’ before taking your hand and Gideon in his car seat and leading the both of you to the back of the store.
The bedrest had worked. You had a relatively fine labor, for how fine labor could be. Your recovery was okay and Spencer had been a big help with taking care of you and Gideon when you first came home from the hospital. Even though Gideon is your first baby, Spencer’s dad instincts kicked in and he instantly was so good with baby Gideon.
“Thank you for the surprise.” Spencer says genuinely before scooping his large hands into the car seat and gently hoisting the still sleeping Gideon to his chest, coddling him close.
You take your phone out of the large diaper bag you carry with you and snap a quick photo of your husband and your son together. Then, you take in the rest of the familiar sight that is Diana’s Library, the bookshop your husband had bought had renovated over the past four years. His former mentor and your son’s namesake, Jason Gideon, had retired and given his best employee, your husband, first right to buy what was the previous space known as Jason’s Library. Since then, Spencer had dedicated it to his mother and worked to make the bookshop of his dreams.
You had contributed as well, putting together bookshelves and cabinets on your free weekends and scouring old second hand books online to add to the library. And when you and Spencer discovered you were pregnant, you also did most of the revamping of the old reading nook to a child friendly reading space. All of this is why you were so pouty when you were placed on bedrest and you couldn’t return to the warm and cozy environment you had grown to love so much.
“I thought it would be nice to visit.” You comment as Spencer rocks back and forth with your sleeping son on his chest. You reach your hand and fix your husband’s glasses that have slid down on his nose.
Spencer smiles back at you, his eyes gleaming with delight, “And you’re feeling okay?” he checks in.
You nod, “Yeah, I am. Took a shower, did some chores around the house.” You list.
“Don’t strain yourself.” Spencer warns, concern in his voice.
“I won’t.” You promise to him, “Besides, I just wanted to get out of the house.”
“You mean that you missed your chair here.” Spencer corrects, a joking tone in his voice and a matching visage in his eyes.
You scoff at his remark, though not denying it, “I don’t know why you couldn’t have asked Derek for his truck so we could bring it to the house.”
“Because you ordered one for the house! We’d have to move it back here!” He laughs. The laughter has jostled Gideon and he slowly wakens from his peaceful slumber despite the small pats Spencer gives on his back.
You purse your lips, “But it’s on backorder and won’t be in for another five months.” You complain and pout.
Spencer laughs at your not-so-serious expression. You take your hand and reach out again, this time adjusting the knit cap on your son’s head to not cover over his eyes. It let’s your son, for the very first time, take in the surroundings that you know he’ll get to know very well in his childhood to come.
Gideon, now awake and alert, moves his head around and by the look on his face, isn’t very happy. Both Spencer and you clock this.
“I just changed his diaper before leaving the house, so he should be good.” You inform your husband.
“Is he maybe hungry?” Spencer says, rocking him back and forth more quickly now. He looks at his son inquisitively, trying to figure out the solution to his grump face that you both know will turn into a shrill cry very quickly unless handled. The rocking holds his cry at bay for now, but its only a temporary solution.
“Hm, maybe.” You say uncertain.
Spencer’s ready though, he takes the diaper bag from your hand and puts in on a clean countertop behind him. Then he opens the cabinets above and you smile to yourself at the sight you see.
“You have a spare pump and formula here?” You say, your heart warming at the sweet sight in front of you. This just confirms to you that you have the best partner ever.
“Of course!” Your husband responds, bringing both down from the cabinet to the counter for you, “This is like our second home. I have a travel crib too if he gets sleepy.”
You pull him in again for a kiss, a longer one this time, and you make sure that you put all the love and emotion you hold for him. As you pull back, you instantly get a gratifying feeling. Being with your husband and your son in your favorite place in the world.
“You are simply the best, Spencer Reid.”
a/n: and this concludes the end of spence-tober 2023! thanks for coming along for the ride, whether this is the first one you've read (check back at the masterlist for more), if you've joined midway, or if you've been here since the beginning!
i'll admit, writing and posting every single day has been a little stressful and finishing writing challenges like these can be hard and taxing, especially with how unexpected life can get. i'll be posting some behind the scenes sometime later this week or next and then i might announce some new things coming soon too!

I need headcannons for Belismerich babies.
And in the same vein, I need headcannons for big brother Manfred.
BELISMERICH 💕 I’m honestly obsessed with the pairing name.
Okay, so babies! Yes. Tbh, I can imagine them having a family together. He’s obviously comfortable with the idea, with Manfred canonically being a son to him. Once the world is safe and sound and these two marry, Emmrich retains his position as a professor (though with a more lenient schedule). Belisma remains a Watcher in name, and she and Emmrich share responsibilities of reading rites to the dead, keeping the memorial gardens in check, etc. The couple is quite comfortable, emotionally and fiscally.
Manfred also continues to learn, becoming a mage in his own right and becoming more dexterous as well. He learns to open doors without help (the handles are tricky) and can even write basic words! He’s also learning to read. 🥹
So, with everything going so well, they decide that it’s time for them to have a family. F
I could see these two adopting a child (both being orphans, you know) and conceiving.
I see them with two babies: one boy (conceived) and a girl (adopted).
Emil (Boy):
He has Belisma’s dusty/ashy hair color, but Emmrich’s hazel eyes.
He becomes a dancer like his mama, loving ballet but being more prone to gymnastics. By the time he’s a schoolboy. he’s entertaining the other children with elegant flips and spins. And terrifying his teachers by climbing trees and buildings, then jumping off with perfume spins and flips.
He wants to be a Watcher, but also, a performer. This pleases both parents. As he gets also, he gets a sassy personality, haha. A little flippant (especially to the nobles; a bias he got from his father’s disdain for nobility, haha) but always serious when it comes to respecting others and the dead.
Em: He inherited your grace, my darling.
Isma: And your eyes. Not you mention your disdain for life-leeching nobility.
Em: Haha. When the wealthy learn that death plays no favorites, perhaps I’ll favor them more in turn.
As an adult, he’d be a rogue-type Watcher, favoring a bow and arrow.
Amaryllis (Girl):
The young girl wanders into the Grand Necropolis, crying and screaming that her Mother is missing. Agents go out, but the woman is never found, but a scrap of her dress is found near a rocky cliff.
Emmrich and Belisma have space in his lodgings for the girl, and the accommodations are quite nice. A private, spacious apartment with extra rooms and a library. By that time, Emil is born. Ama warms up quickly to the baby, and even likes Manfred. He’s easy to talk to, and brings her tissues. (“Crying. Good.”)
She’s a great baby-sitter, and Manfred teaches her fire magic. She learns magecraft fast, and Emmrich and Belisma (also being mages) are so proud.
They officially adopt her a year later, because she asks them to. They are more than happy to oblige.
She adopts her father’s love of botany, and wants to become a professor like him. 🥹
She’s very prim and proper, and quite mature for her age. She has very curly hair and is also taller, like Emmrich. She looks like she could be his biological daughter, haha.
As an adult, she would be a mage Watcher, and would love to one day assume her father’s post.
Now, BIG BRO MANFRED:
The teapot Manfred always carries? It actually belonged to Emmrich’s mother. One of the few items he kept to remember her by. Manfred is trusted with it, so obviously, he is trusted openly with carrying very valuable possessions.
Manfred carries Emil a lot, in his arms and in a baby bjorn. He actually is sad if he doesn’t get his quality time with the infant. At home, Manfred is always peering into the bassinet, or sitting with them by the fire, supervising. When they get too close, he pushes them back. “No. Hot! Bad!”
He swaps out his travel gear for being a walking diaper/baby bag, haha. His ribs are filled with blankets, toys, etc.
With Ama, he loves going on walks with her. He’s a great listener (haha) and is very kind. He’s a little easier for her to talk to at first than the others.
As she gets more into gardening, he’s out there helping her plant blue creepvine, Shroud’s Kiss, and other adored blooms.
And if boys dare to shout rude remarks at her. They get a VERY hostile hiss.

in most stories being the youngest kid means being the sheltered child. everyone would see the baby of the family being favored more than the eldest or middle child. for you, it wasn’t ever like that.
you grew up in an classic middle class family. your mother was a prosecutor and your father was a detective. your older brother followed in his fathers footsteps. he went to college, worked his ass off, and became an officer.
and your sister became a lawyer just like your mom. she was damn good at it too.
you on the other hand, you had different dreams. you never wanted to be cooped up in a bubble. your dreams were to travel the world, draw the most beautiful sights you’ve ever seen, meet new people, discover yourself.
when you graduated high school you saved up enough money over the years to do so. you took different jobs just to pay bills and continue to move along.
your parents never thought it was a great idea. they’d always scold you to go to college. they’d get your siblings along in it but it just never worked. you loved your free spirited life style.
you visited your family every once in a while. but after ten years of being free, ten years of constantly hearing the same things over and over, ten years of nonstop get bugged over when you’re gonna grow up and turn your life around, you were tired.
you stopped going to every christmas, every thanksgiving, every birthday, any holiday. you’d come up with some excuse. telling your family you had a shift at whatever job you had.
truth was, you needed to be away. your family back home may not have understood. besides your best friend, you didn’t really keep in contact with anyone.
spencer was the only one who stood beside you. he knew that you had other dreams and aspirations. he never judged you for drifting off and exploring the world. he was the one to encourage you.
“yn, remember what you told me when i had a hard time deciding to skip a few grades? you said that if i didn’t, id always wonder. you told me im too smart to be in seventh grade and i needed to get off my ass and go show those high school idiots how smart i truly am. you’re an amazing artist, yn! i know you can make a name for yourself.”
that was the only thing you needed to hear before you packed your bags, bought a plane ticket, and began your journey. you never regret your decision.
it’s why you’re so glad to be in virginia. getting to see spencer again made you happy. you haven’t seen your best friends since he made it into the behavioral analysis program. you knew spencer was beyond smart. knowing that he was working with the smartest people, fighting crime, and kicking ass, made you proud.
you smile at the guard up front. “hi, im here to see doctor spencer reid.”
the guard asked for a form of identification before smiling and giving you a visitors badge. spencer made sure to let them know you’d be coming by.
when you finally got to his floor your eyes widened with how big it truly was. you never thought you’d ever be here. standing in front of a team full of people who study human behavior.
“yn!?” spencer runs to his friend.
“woah, slow down there pretty boy.”
you opens your arms wide as spencer lifts you up and spins you around. you giggled before he sets you down.
“hi, genius!”
“god, i miss you.”
“miss you too bud. this place is incredible, spence. how do you guys get any work around here done. i wouldn’t know how to sit still.”
spencer just shrugs as he walks the two of you over to his desk. you spot two individuals.
one of them was a woman. she was beautiful. her dark locks were slowly fading to grey, but she definitely rocked it.
the other was a tall, muscular build man. he had a cocky smirk on his face. he was definitely handsome. you can tell he’s a bit of a player but ultimately a sweetheart.
“well pretty boy, you gonna introduce us?”
spencer smiles. “guys, this is my best friend since diapers, yn! yn thats emily and derek.”
you gently waved.
“hi. it’s nice to finally meet you. spencer talks bout you guys all the time. im glad he has someone else to bug besides me.” you playfully hit his arm.
“you must be someone special. reid doesn’t hug anyone. says—”
“it’s safer to kiss? he’s been saying that since we were children. i think he came up with that when he had a crush on our next door neighbor, dawn.”
“hey! it’s an actual fact!” spencer defends.
you playfully roll your eyes. “when are you off, butthead? i wanna look at places while im here.”
“im off this weekend.”
“you’re moving down here?!”
“yeah. spencer constantly tells me how great this place is. it’s gotta be better than nevada if it’s got spencer’s vote of approval.”
“it is a great state. you’ll love it. if you need help finding something im sure i could be of service.”derek flirts.
“thanks. i should probably let you all get back to work. ill—”
“we have a case!” you get interrupted. you slowly lift your head and your heart skips a beat.
he stares at you with a scowl on his face. you assumed it was a permanent one. he was tall, had a beautiful head of hair, his face was clean shaven, his suit was definitely dry cleaned. he looked like a man you’d see in a fairytale. like how you’d imagine prince eric from the little mermaid to look. he was breathtaking.
“i’ll probably be gone for a few days. will you be okays exploring the city without me?” spencer breaks you out of your trance.
“um—yeah. just be safe. and call me!”
spencer smiles as he squeezes your arm before walking away. you give your heart a second to go back to normal speed.
you think you’re gonna love it here.
so, yes it’s an age gap between them. listen, im not gonna be like some people and say i have a huge problem with age gaps, because i do not!
yes, at times it can be gross. when someone is freshly eighteen and dating someone in their mid to late twenties or older, it’s gross
if someone knew the person when they were a child and begin dating them. even if they’re in their twenties, it’s gross
but as someone who’s 25 and has only dated men older since i was like 22, i don’t see much of a problem as long as they were two consenting adults.
that being said, read it if you want and if you don’t, scroll past it.

-
Minji laid on her unmade hotel bed, numb. The last 12 hours had felt unreal. She had a daughter, a beautiful daughter, that was all Yoongi with hints of her brother. She could feel flickers of life bloom in her chest when Mrs. Min talked about the toddler. It almost made Minji regret fleeing, almost.
Minji forced herself out of the plush bed, stripping herself of her clothes down to her birthday suit. She stood in front of the mirror, examining herself; every mole, scar, stretch mark, and at the center of it all was the C-section scar from the child’s birth. Most days Minji could forget the long pink scar that decorated her lower belly. Sometimes the pain that comes from it will pull her from the fog she’s been sinking herself in. She dragged her index finger lightly across, remembering the child’s birth.
Yoongi had freaked out that morning, Minji had gone into early labor a week before she was scheduled for her C-section. Yoongi had arranged and rearranged her maternity bag weeks in advance, making sure he kept the child’s belongings in a separate diaper bag. He double, triple, quadruple checked that they had the correct paperwork to check Minji in with no issues. Yoongi was on the phone with her doctor, informing her of the early labor, while Minji floated through his apartment. She could feel the child moving around, just as desperate as she to leave its confines.
Yoongi tried his best to settle their nerves while they drove to their hospital, he guided Minji through the breathing exercises they learned at birthing classes. She remembered doing the bare minimum to ease the sharp pain traveling across her lower body. Minji felt that she deserved to feel the pain enveloping her. She held off until her doctor sedated her for her C-section.
Minji watched as the tub she laid in filled to a less than ideal amount. The steaming water was stinging the skin it enveloped, and she sighed in relief. She allowed her body to relax, washing away the tension that had built up.
Minji walked into the Min home, taking in the room that once gave her comfort. The hallway right at the entrance that was once lined with pictures of Yoongi, were now taken over by pictures of the child. No longer was her former lover’s story up for her to reread. The comfy dark gray sectional was still in its corner, and the rocking chair where she informed the Min elders of her pregnancy was occupied by an obscenely large stuffed bear. She could hear father Min humming along to the song playing from his ‘Alexa’, and their kettle whistling. Mother Min was going forward with the pleasantries, ‘You look great’, ‘I missed you’, ‘why did you leave’, ‘do you have a boyfriend’, ‘do you want tea’, ‘do you want to see pictures of Hani’? It was overwhelming.
Minji nodded through the simple small talk, allowing the Min elders to talk about their lives within the last four years. They’d spent 3 hours on Mrs. Min’s community center stories, and if it hadn’t been for a neighbor stopping by, she’d still be speaking about them. She learned that both Mins’ had technically retired, but Mr. Min was still running his shop. While Mrs. Min would take clients once in a blue moon for events. While the trio ate lunch together, Minji caught herself tearing up. She had missed this feeling of belonging that enveloped her at the Min home. Mrs. Min kept her plate full, and Mr. Min made sure to pack up leftovers for her to eat at her hotel.
After cleaning up, Mrs. Min brought out the child’s pictures. Minji was reading the short story of the child’s life, and she was conflicted. She watched as the child took her first steps towards Yoongi. There he was at every little song learned, art piece being made, movie watched, and word spoken. It never looked like there was a missing piece. There was no place left for her. Minji held back a sob that had built itself as she learned more about the child’s life. So far she had learned that the child liked pink, but hated yellow. She loved mozzarella sticks, cheerios, and watermelon juice. Tiana was her current favorite princess, while Moana sits at a very close second. The Mins’ practically glowed talking about the girl.
Minji stared at the ceiling above, feeling droplets falling on the sides of her face, too numb to care if they’re coming from her or from her bath. Her throat became dry, and it became harder to swallow. Too tired to fight, she allows the sobs that she pushed down, rise once again. Her cries echo across the walls, somehow adding more layers to her misery.
Mrs. Min wasted no time speaking about Yoongi. ‘I never liked her from the beginning,’ she said, and ‘That Jeon boy was trouble’, while she doubted his judgment of character. The way she recounted the first meeting was odd; ‘She was too friendly towards Yoongi’, she said. While Mr. Min would add that he liked how friendly the babysitter was. Mrs. Min didn’t like that she acted like a hostess when they had brunch. Mr. Min liked that she was helping Yoongi, as there was a large amount of food. Mrs. Min was not fond of the child being so close to the babysitter, and Yoongi not correcting her. Mr. Min was ecstatic that his granddaughter was comfortable with someone new. It went on like that for the rest of the talk, for every dislike Mother Min had, Father Min had a counter like. By the end she was visibly frustrated.
Mrs. Min looked at Mr. Min with dark eyes, ‘Why are you defending her’, she demanded. Mr. Min sighed, ‘This conversation isn’t about the babysitter, it’s about Minji wanting to see her daughter.’
‘She deserves to know what kind of person our son has left our granddaughter with’, she sneered.
Mr. Min grunted, ‘Yoongi isn’t completely hopeless, he’s very strict with Haneul’s care.’
Mrs. Min scoffed, offended that her husband wasn’t agreeing with her. Minji was confused, if this person was so horrible as Mother Min said, then why is Yoongi still allowing his child to still be in her care. Who was this person and why was she causing such a rift? Mr. Min stood from his chair, excusing himself, but not before telling Minji that he hopes she’s here for the right reasons. Minji tensed in her seat, she wondered if he knew that Mrs. Min had been reaching out to reunite her with his grandchild.
Mother Min waited until her husband had left the kitchen to speak once again, she asked Minji to please see the child. She went on, and on about how the baby asked for her momma. ‘Any time we’re out and we see a mother and daughter she asks me where her momma is. I always tell her you were sick, but are working on getting better. I tell her you miss her, and want to see her. Hani wants you here Minji.’
Minji teared up, she didn’t know that her baby was asking for her. She had always felt like the baby would be better without her, Minji was aware of the baggage she carried, and she had started facing it little by little with her therapist. But they could never broach the topic of the baby, it opened a can of worms Minji wasn’t sure she wanted to deal with just yet. Mom told her to fight for her child, she had rights, and she should fight for them. She assured Minji that she’d support her through it, even offering for them to stay in their home while she had custody of the baby.
Minji rubbed a scar lightening cream on her lower stomach. She climbed into bed holding her phone, with a new chat opened. She stared at the screen until it darkened, shoving it under the cold hotel pillow to keep it out of mind. Minji laid in darkness, allowing herself to get lost, and leave her body.
Minji watched as the head nurse placed the baby in her chest. It didn’t look like a baby, and smelled like blood and something else she can’t remember. She couldn’t remember the inbetween, next thing she woke up to was a crying Yoongi holding a pink blanket with a tuft of black hair. Minji had left 48 hours after giving birth. Yoongi had begged her to stay longer, ‘I just witnessed your organs on a tray next to you, I think you should stay a bit longer Min.’ Minji refused. She promised Yoongi she’d take care of herself. As she got the last of her things she voiced her goodby, and her well wishes. A week later Minji was in her new apartment, with her new roommate, starting her new life.
Minji had a lot of regrets in her life, but as she laid in her bed, she decided this was not going to be one of them. She reopened the chat she had closed. Once she was satisfied, Minji readjusted herself into her bed, hoping everything will be worth it

Racing Stripes, Season 2, Chapter 2
Word Count: 1.9k
Warnings: none
“Alright, is everyone set to go back to your moms?”
“I think so!” Sergio, the four-year-old carbon copy of his father answered, “Car?”
The two year old looked up at Bebe with doe-eyes, before lifting up her sock-covered feet, “shoe?”
“That’s right, baby girl,” Bebe smiled as she got on her knees and began to help put on the little girl’s shoes, “you need to get some shoes on your little toes!”
She giggled as Bebe helped her get the sandals on, and Checo smiled, “everyone ready?”
“We have to go back, daddy?”
Checo messed with his son’s hair and nodded before picking him up, “you do. Daddy is getting ready to go back on the road and race cars!”
“I come?” Carlota asked.
“Sorry baby, daddy’s racing his car, not Raising Car,” Bebe frowned as she picked up the two year old and threw the diaper bag over her shoulder, “But you know who will be raising Car during daddy’s work trip?”
“MOMMY!”
“You’re such a smartie!” Bebe smiled, booping the little girl’s nose.
“Baby?” Carlota asked, reaching down as much as she could on Bebe’s chest.
“The baby gets to come with me and daddy, yes!” she admitted.
“The new baby is in Courtney’s tummy, remember?” Checo asked as he tried to explain to his children how his girlfriend was pregnant, “when Courtney has your little brother or sister she’ll be back here in Monte Carlo though. And we’ve already talked with mommy. You can see the baby any time you want to.”
Bebe gave her boyfriend a soft smile, “that’s right…but come on. We got to get you to your mommy’s house, then run to the airport so daddy isn’t late.”
Just as Checo started towards the door it burst open, his ex-wife coming in, “hey guys. The kids ready?”
“Carola! What are you doing here?”
“Was in the neighborhood,” she admitted, “had the spare key that Courtney gave me and figured I’d save you guys some time so you could get to the airport.”
“MOMMY!” Carlota smiled, reaching out for her mother.
Courtney handed the toddler, and diaper bag off, and Checo put his son down so Sergio could go to his mother, “thank you. You’re really giving us some extra time to get to the airport.”
“No problem,” she shrugged, “thanks for taking them for your break.”
“Hey…everyone deserves some time off!” Courtney smiled.
“See you when you have your first break?” Carola asked, looking between the couple, “Three weeks in August, right?”
“Yeah,” Bebe agreed, “between the Hungaroring and spa.”
“By that time you’ll be ready to pop!” she teased.
“Yeah…he’ll go back on the road, and but I’ll be home as of the Monaco race at the end of May. Doctor’s said I really shouldn’t be flying as much as they do after I’m out of the second trimester.”
“Yeah,” Carola mused as she touched her own stomach, “I remember what it was like when we were pregnant with Sergio and he was in BWT. Trust me. By the time the second trimester is over, you’ll be glad you’re not on the road.”
“As much as I love how you two are getting along,” Checo said awkwardly, “we really need to get on the road.”
“Right!”
“Oh yeah!” Carola laughed, “I’m sorry, Checo…”
“I’ll let you know when we land,” Bebe offered, “we can video chat with the kids if they’re still up?”
“YEAH!” Sergio agreed.
“Sounds good,” she smiled, “travel safe, guys!”
Checo sighed as he looked at the car.
His number was in bright red lettering against the smooth blue.
“So, how’s she look?” He nearly jumped out of his skin when Christian clapped him on the shoulder. The team principal laughed and rubbed his shoulder, “you okay, Checo?”
“Yeah, sorry. I just-it’s so much different than I expected!”
“Yeah, well she wasn’t painted up when you came out to HQ and did your final walkthroughs and some final SIM training!” he reminded the driver, “nice to see you brought your girlfriend along!”
“Yeah!” he smiled, looking up from his car to look at her. She was animatedly talking with his kids on video chat, showing them the inside of the Redbull garage.
“How does it feel now that she’s not a motorsports girl anymore!”
“Knowing that my girlfriend is here only for me…feels amazing!” he smirked.
“Word on the street is that she turned down an extension on her contract because you’ve got another little Perez baking in the oven.”
Checo felt himself blushing, “Yeah…uh, me and Courtney are having a child.”
“That’s great!” he grinned, “good to hear it. Did the same thing myself a few years back with Gerri. It’s nice when you find someone who just gets you, isn’t it?”
“Nothing better in this world,” he admitted, “you know, before we got together it felt like my world was falling apart. But with her, even my worst days are bearable.”
“Good for you, Checo…I’m happy for you.”
“Alright Emma….Lynn, daddy loves you!” Lando chuckled as he watched his teammate waving across the video chat, “Sheils, they’re not looking at me.”
“Danny they’re three weeks old. They don’t understand the concept of video chatting,” Sheila giggled, before turning the phone towards herself, “let the twins enjoy their time without daddy helicoptering around them.”
“I don’t do that!”
“You insisted on crawling into their crib with them when they were crying the night before last, Daniel.”
“You told me that we need to let them get used to their crib,” he shrugged, “and they wouldn’t stop until I got in there with em.”
“I came into their room at six and they were on you like some sort of baby dogpile.”
Daniel smiled proudly, “I can’t help it that our girls love me.”
“Get back to work…your girls are fine.”
“I love you!” The Aussie grinned as he waved his fiancé off.
“I love you too, Daniel!”
The call ended and he put his phone down. Lando continued to chuckle from beside him, “what?”
“Nothing…just…turning into a dad really did something to you!”
“I’m telling you…I don’t know how Checo did it when his kids were born and he was on the road…I was there while she gave birth…and I almost considered calling Zak to tell him that I’d need the first few race weeks off…”
“Is everything okay?”
“Truth be told, I kind of did turn into a heli-parent,” he admitted with a chuckle, “just, they’re so tiny and it’s the most adorable thing to see that newborn scrunch when you pick em up…and Emma and Lynn are so smart. I mean, they’re only a few weeks old, but-“
“We get it, Danny Ric,” Zak chuckled from his desk while he ate, “you love your kids. But you need to get something into your system before the next testing session starts or you’ll have the shakes.”
“He’s right!” Lando admitted as he bit into his sandwich, “I haven’t seen you eat anything all day!”
“Trust me, chasing after the twins, I still manage to have all the energy I need, even if I forget to eat here and there.”
“I have kids, Daniel, at two weeks old, there’s no chasing,” Zak laughed as he pushed the other half of his plate towards the driver, “Eat!”
“Hello everyone, and welcome to the official first meeting for the motorsports girls!” The head steward began, “now, I know there are a lot of familiar faces around here, but there are also a lot of new ones as well. The fifteen of you have been signed on for the 2021 Formula 1 season. And while we are proud to get it started, there has been a major announcement that we need to give. As of this year, your jobs are secured, but by 2025, we plan on phasing out the motorsports girl program, and either terminating or placing you in permanent departments and areas throughout the FIA.”
A chorus of whispers started up around the women.
“Now, now, that’s not to say anyone has to be terminated,” another had started, “we are going to give all of you women the option to move into areas within the FIA, and provide placement to teams who have openings. What this means is that when you are not picked by a driver, you have the option to either take the week off, or talk to the team principals and see if there is any additional work that they need done. This means they may pick you up for social media teams, as assistants to their drivers or themselves, or additional staff if they need someone to run errands and the like. This additional job opportunities can help transition you into long-lasting positions after the motorsports girl seats have been removed from our organization.”
One of the girls raised her hand and a steward called on her, “Does this mean that we aren’t going to get paid if we don’t reach out and work for individual teams or the FIA, if we don’t get picked at the ceremony by a driver?”
“You will still get your base rate,” another steward confirmed, “but as you noticed, the base rates in your contracts were changed this year so that it only accounts for accommodations and the like. It doesn’t include much saving or spending money. If you want an income, you will have to reach out to the teams and organization and work for your money.”
“I worked for my money every year I’ve been a motorsports girl…I’ve built up relationships with the drivers, and now-“
“Bella, we are going to cut you off right here,” the head steward added in, “just because you have slept with drivers, and continued to do so doesn’t mean that you deserve additional pocket money. Recently, our program has come to the attention of various outlets and sources, and we’re turning this program into a training school of sorts, rather than a brothel.”
“Didn’t seem to have a problem with it for years before!”
“And then previous motorsports girls broke their NDA’s last year and spoke to the press,” one of the team principals growled, “look, if any of you do not want to be part of this, that’s fine. But the organization is changing, and we have to change with it. The stewards and organizers within the FIA have found a way for you women to retain jobs and learn life-skills along the way. The days of being a sugar baby or accessory for the drivers is coming to an end. So buck up or buck out!”
Thank you for the assistance, Principal Brown,” the head steward frowned, “while Mr. Brown of Mclaren is a bit…blunt in his description, he is correct. The FIA is making improvements to everything, and eliminating areas that are…troublesome. We will put you all in contact with the principals for each team, so that you may get to know them, and their team needs. That is what tonight is for. Instead of you getting to see the drivers tonight and getting to know them, we have the ten principals here, and they are going to get to interview each of you so that they can figure out who will work best for them, if the time comes. Ladies, if you would be patient and take a seat, the principals will be in the next room, and they will come out to grab each of you for your interviews…”

"Where is [child's name]?" "I thought you had them!"
can you tell I was listening to my shivlina playlist while writing this? 😉
Even with private jets, a transatlantic flight with an eight-month-old baby is still fucking stressful. By the time they've done flights and drives and been shuffled into various rooms in Caroline's expansive manor (and Shiv thanks god every time that her mother had immediately moved away from the sprawling cage they'd grown up in), she has a pounding headache that she'd rather treat with liquor than acetaminophen and she can already tell that the baby's routine is going to make her own jet lag worse.
She's in the bathroom of the suite, the same one she's gotten used to because fucking Roman gets the one Caroline used to allot for their dad. The small office space will hold Genevieve's cot and the trunk full of baby necessities, from the seat she needs in the bathtub to the tiny red dress she'll be dressed in for Christmas. But the luggage hasn't been delivered yet, and Tom hasn't even arrived with the baby, so Shiv splashes water on her face and then pats dry with a towel, digging through her purse to find eye drops to make her eyes less red.
She hears the heavy door open, and exits the en suite to find Tom lugging the overstuffed diaper bag, but no baby along with it. "Wait, where's Genevieve?"
"I thought you had her!" Tom's eyes go wide, and he drops the bag. "I wasn't in the same car-- did she get with someone else somehow?"
"No, she was with me in the car, she took a bottle--" Shiv shoves her hands into her hair, trying to remember. Fuck, how bad at this does she have to be to lose track of her daughter in the hubbub of international travel!?
"Oh my god, did we 'Home Alone' our baby?" Tom sounds horrified.
"No, you idiot, that doesn't happen," Shiv hisses, certain Genevieve is here, probably with some relative or staff member who had passed her around instead of giving her back to her mother. "Fuck, where's Chloe-- she probably has her-- or maybe Connor got her, you know how he is about wanting to hold his niece as soon as he sees her--"
"Who did you give her to, Shiv!?" Tom spreads his arms, his tone accusatory. "I wasn't in the car with you two!"
"Jesus, calm down, everyone here is family," Shiv snaps, panic rising in her own throat. "You call Chloe, I'm going to--" but as she paces to the door, it opens, and Karolina steps in, holding Genevieve safely in her arms-- and the baby is asleep.
"Oh, sorry," she says, looking between them and clearly noticing their panicked looks. "Chloe was taking her for a diaper change, I thought you knew where she was-- but then there wasn't a trash can in the powder room, so I volunteered to take her while she figured that out. I thought she could use a lullaby, so I didn't just deliver a cranky baby to your door."
"Thank god," Tom says fervently. Now that Shiv has her baby in her sight again, she feels like he's overreacting. Genevieve was never going to end up with anyone they didn't already know.
"You must be magic," she murmurs to Karolina, giving her a wry smile. "I'll..." but Genevieve shifts as Karolina starts to move her away from her chest, and Shiv holds up her hand in pause. "Hm. You don't... have anything you urgently need to do, right? The couch here is pretty nice, if you wanna put your feet up..."
"Shiv," Tom says, "you can't make Karolina sit here for the whole time Genevieve naps."
"Hey, it's nicer than my suite," Karolina says, giving Shiv a familiar smile, like they're sharing a secret. "I'll stay for a while." She strokes a hand over Genevieve's soft hair, and Shiv feels her heart skip a beat as she watches Karolina watch the baby.
"Thanks," she says softly, following Karolina to the couch and sitting next to her. "I'm glad she was with you."
"We get along alright," Karolina answers.
Shiv is so entranced by the gentle ease with which Karolina cradles Genevieve that she doesn't even look up when Tom leaves the room.

Digimon Adventure: 2023 - The newborn chronicles 1/?
Since approx three weeks, I'm head deep into diapers, broken nights and feeding sessions, trying to navigate through life with a newborn. All the while, coming here feels like this could be both my escape from and way of dealing with everything. So I might as well throw in some drabbles about my faves during pregnancy/labor and/or with newborns! Don't expect too much shipping or even shipping at all, just these mofos being newborn parents and not knowing sh*t about all of this.
If you have any suggestions or requests for this series (character(s) and/or prompt/idea), please crawl into my ask box and leave a message (: It's great writing exercise for me after being out of it for so long! I'm taking everything on a scale from everyday domestic fluff to drama with a funny twist and from comedy with a serious touch to dark and heavy angsty emotional rollercoaster.

Episode 1: Taichi & newborn Souta, pt. 1
"Well, just kill me now..."
He said as he exhaled loudly, his hands desperately buried in his hair that seemed wilder than ever before. The bags underneath his eyes in combination with the messy hair and stinky boxers indicating the lack of sleep and showering.
A small piece of Taichi hoped his wife would hear him sigh, wake and come to his rescue. The biggest piece, however, wanted to let her have a peaceful night after all the tough ones she already had and show her he could actually do this by himself.
Thing was he wasn't sure how to.
He reached for his phone on top of the dresser, next to his one week old son. Their eyes met, one set of brown eyes expectingly piercing through his own pair.
"I'm sorry I'm letting you wait, I just... I just need to be sure. So stop looking at me like that."
Taichi's eyes quickly moved from the baby to his phone, scrolling through the names in his contacts.
If he'd call Hikari, or Sora, they would immediately mother and scold him for not knowing "anything". They were an easy skip.
He could call Yamato, but the scenario in his head made him skip his friend faster than lightning.*
Jyou could be useful knowledge-wise, but he'd probably be in a night shift and too busy picking up.
Mimi wasn't an option either, feeling she would leave him with unuseful anecdotes about her traveling life and more questions than answers.
Takeru he felt too awkward to call and Daisuke was simply a hard no.
That left him with one last option. And even though Taichi wasn't sure about that person's knowledge regarding this specific topic, he was sure that he would help him in the best way possible.
"Taichi-san?"
Plus, the voice on the other end weirdly soothed him.
With his gaze fixed on his son's overly yellow-brownish body, Taichi started rambling.
"Koushiro, you've got to help me. What do you know about changing diapers and cleaning one week old babies after they covered themselves in their own poop?"
* The Taichi - Yamato scenario/convo I envisioned:
Y: "Oi, Taichi, why you're calling me in the middle of the night?"
T: "Why are you picking up in the middle of the night?"
Y: "... F*ck you." *hangs up*

I also wanted to recognize here that I know Mother’s Day can be hard and sad for various reasons; please know I’m holding you in my heart. Hi friends! How was the weekend? I hope you had a wonderful one. Liv had a dance competition, so we enjoyed a trip to Phoenix with swimming and dinners out in between all of the dancing. The Pilot stayed here with P to take her to practice and basketball game. We’re officially at the “divide and conquer” stage of parenting. For today’s post, I wanted to share some Mother’s Day gift ideas. I’m not requesting a lot gift-wise this year – my ideal gift looks like tickets for a show or a vacation! – but am absolutely looking forward to celebrating all of the women in our family we love so much. I thought I’d share some ideas if you’re shopping, and I’d love to hear your gift guide picks, too! Flowers and plants: Venus et fluer flowers. Personalized + jewelry: Handwriting bracelet. This one is designed based on your own handwriting. Hand painted earrings. These Maya Brenner necklaces are SO gorgeous. (Ok, I do want this.) Dress it up or down; it’s perfection. Classic Tory Burch tote. The color is a surprising neutral. This is another great tote that can double as a diaper bag or beach bag. These pajamas or these pajamas. My two faves ever. Mama bracelet. Fruit babies bestsellers. Low-top classic white sneakers. Classic Birks. These pearl hoops. Diaper Bag Market Enigma: Decoding the Secrets of Trendsetting Parenting Gear
Market Overview:
Diaper bags are used by parents to carry essential baby items like diapers, wipes, clothes, food, toys and medicines when traveling with infants and toddlers. They are designed with several pockets and compartments to hold all baby care products and accessories conveniently.
Market Dynamics:
The diaper bags market is expected to grow due to the rising population of working mothers globally. As more women are joining the workforce while also caring for children, the demand for easy to carry and organized diaper bags has increased significantly. Moreover, changing lifestyles and rapid urbanization have further fueled the sales of premium and stylish diaper bags among style-conscious parents. Product innovation in terms of bag designs, compartments and lightweight fabric materials will continue to support the revenue generation in the market during the forecast period.
Increased Number of Women Joining Workforce Driving Growth in Diaper Bag Market
With more women joining the workforce in recent years, the need for convenient diaper bags has increased tremendously. Working mothers require bags that are practical for carrying all baby care essentials during the day while allowing them to carry out their professional duties smoothly. Modern diaper bags address this need by offering spacious compartments, additional pockets, changing pads and insulated bottle holders. Stylish designs and use of high quality materials make these bags suitable for both work and casual outings. As women's participation in the labor force continues to rise globally, sales of thoughtful diaper bags tailored for working mothers are projected to see healthy growth.
Increase in Birth Rates Fuelling Demand
Another key driver positively impacting sales of diaper bags is the rise in birth rates witnessed across both developing and developed nations. More babies mean greater need for diaper changing supplies and baby care products on the go. Growing baby boomer population with young grandchildren is also driving the market. Diaper bag manufacturers are leveraging this trend by launching exciting new designs, colours and exclusive collections to attract both new parents and grandparents. The availability of bags in multiple sizes, from basic nappy bags to spacious weekend diaper totes, makes it convenient for families of all sizes to find suitable options.
Stringent Regulations on Use of Certain Materials Pose Challenge
While the diaper bag market has strong growth drivers working in its favour, it also has to contend with some challenges. One such restrain is the stringent regulations imposed on the use of certain materials in baby products. Regulatory bodies have banned the use of phthalates and other harmful chemicals in items that may come in contact with infants. This has restricted bag manufacturers from employing low cost plastic materials. The additional R&D and compliance costs involved in using approved fabrics has increased production costs for players. However, protecting baby safety remains the top priority and manufacturers are steadily shifting to eco-friendly alternatives.
Personalization Trend Offers Lucrative Opportunity
Rise of customization and personalization is a major trend observed across various consumer markets in recent times. This presents a huge opportunity for companies in the diaper bag space to tap into. Customers today want bags that reflect their personalities and style through unique designs, monograms or custom prints. Leading brands are fulfilling this desire by offering DIY options on their websites. Customers can now pick fabrics, add personalized touches like names or quotes and have one-of-a-kind bags created. This innovative approach is gaining popularity and helping vendors boost demand through compelling personalized offerings.
vegan and eco-friendly Materials Emerging as Key Trend
Another important market trend gaining momentum is the shift towards using plant-based, vegan and eco-friendly materials for diaper bags. With sustainability and environmental protection gaining prominence globally, today's parents want bags that are not just functional but also have less environmental impact. Manufacturers have taken note of this preference and are introducing bags made from fabrics like organic cotton, jute, banana fibre and recycled plastics. Durable, long lasting yet sustainable options are resonating well with conscious customers. This growing demand for 'green diaper bags' is expected to mold the future direction of innovation in this space.
