Prompt 71
Klarion is delighted, excited, impatient, and so very happy. He’s found a friend, not the justice league baby-crew who don’t know how to make friends properly or the order-magician who doesn’t play right, but another realm-being his age! They’re even around the same death-date, his is just a couple years earlier! But to beings who aren’t adults until they’re well into the hundreds that’s practically nothing!
His new friend even has a familiar too- even if he has to explain what a familiar is- and, and even shares his two other friends with him!
He’s been in this world for what feels like so long trying to make friends and he’s made three in just a month! And they even know how to properly play and wrestle without targeting Teekl like a certain order lord who he doesn’t like.
Oh! Hey it’s the justice league kiddy-crew! Were they feeling neglected or something?

It’s illegal in Ostania to pierce your skin or get tattoos when you’re under 18, not even your parents can give you permission. But some cultures in Westalis pierce their daughter’s ears at like one as a coming of age thing and some before they start grade school. So when Westalians want to pierce their daughter’s ears they take them over the border just for a few hours. It’s such a common thing that police try to stop people when they have young daughters because they’re convinced that’s all they’re going to do.
Twilight does want to pierce her ears but he does want to avoid pushing his culture onto her. Still he finds it weird such a little girl has no piercings at all but he leaves her alone. Yor of course is fully against the idea and thinks it’s abusive and Loid doesn’t want to piss her off. He’s happy seeing Yor actually set and enforce boundaries with Anya because it shows she actually sees as her daughter which is nice.
It all goes to hell when Handler takes Anya to Westalis for a weekend and naturally pierces her ears because she’s way too old to not have pierced ears. Anya was obviously very excited and immediately cried bloody murder the minute the first ear was done and was so hysterical she almost didn’t get the second one. When she got home Yor was still out so Loid had time to consider just ripping them out but also he definitely wanted to pierce them so he finally got an excuse and Yor wasn’t gonna fight Handler. Not to mention Anya loved them and was so happy showing them off.
In the end, Yor respected Loid’s culture and Anya’s wishes and left them (after yelling for an hour straight) but going forward every time Anya was sick or in pain she blamed the piercings and would cover them with her hair when they went out together.

yesssss your post about dre being there. i’ve been trying to get caught up with everything that happened since i didn’t get to watch live and as i’m going through the tag i’ve seen a bunch of posts about it and like yeah who you associate with means something but also it would be wild if dre WASN’T there. kendrick had EVERYONE up there on that stage with him i don’t think it’s that deep ykwim. the whole fake activism thing is a strange accusation imo i think kendrick’s made it clear he’s a real one but people like to latch onto things yk
Yeah i mean i know this is the antiblack, never listened to hip hop a day in their life ass website but also??? Like at least use one brain cell to recognize it was a big holiday for Black Americans and it was a West Coast rap showcase with Compton + South Central + Inglewood artists both old and new being heavily featured (see: Black Hippy, Mustard, YG, Tyler, Ty, Dom, Steve Lacy, Roddy, Blxst, Hed, Boogie etc.) so it’s not at all surprising that Dre was asked to be there. He’s been in the game since ‘85 and the whole point Kendrick was making about Aubrey is that he ain’t got no roots like they do and he is a disrespectful ass culture vulture who has no regard for the artistry and history of hip hop.
Hella people have been talking about this — and not in this site — but also Dot??? wasn’t hosting a kangaroo court exclusively on Dre’s baggage???? It was a cultural concert with CRIPS and BLOODS (including mf HOOVERS which iydk HUGE) on stage who haven’t come together like that in years. They were making peace in the name of defending our history from bitchass people like those not from the hood (AUBREY) or educated in the history of hip hop outside of romanticizing it and clout chasing (AUBREY). It was a reminder to not fuck with our city bc at the end of the day we got each other’s backs. LA showed up for itself bc too many people have been speaking like they know us, disrespecting the history we got, and it’s very clear they don’t know shit. Those people can take their pearl clutching elsewhere bc Dre wasn’t the point of the night it was to unite the city and West Coast rappers against the kind of people like Aubrey and those who gargle his balls.

@tolkiengenweek Day Five: Culture/Traditions
In The Nature of Middle-earth, it’s stated that Númenórean women are very fond of squirrels. Here is Isildur’s mother showing her young son how to commune with them. She also instilled in him an appreciation for nature on their island (and beyond).
