Part of me has the thought that like, Kathryn would have pumpkin cravings and would ask her mom to do things for her but Gretchen would make her go start the crops and everything herself. (Maybe being a little moody about Kathryn not disclosing her pregnancy with her mother until she needed to) Another part is like,,, Gretchen would probably bend over backwards to get her firstborn daughter what she wants and everything while she has her and Kathryn would help her out and get back into gardening. Another part is like, well maybe Gretchen started the pumpkins before Kathryn arrives on Earth lol. It's like a three to four month interval for pumpkins I think.

First "real" ultrasound!

It's amazing how much the baby has grown in the past 4 weeks!!! The ultrasound was the best moment of my pregnancy so far.

The baby kept moving and turning, and stretching the legs, the arms... I couldn't stop laughing!! The poor tech had to work extra hard to mesure everything 😂 it was simply amazing. A core memory right there.

At the end the tech said it was not the easiest baby she's had today, 🤣 well no shit !

I'd never seen a baby move that much during an ultrasound.

For my daughter, she was completely immobile. Not a single move. Until I heard her heart, part of my brain thought that the baby was dead.

But not this time, I can tell you that !!

I’m usually 60% okay with hearing a dog bark these days, maybe 80% when I’m inside, and that’s progress! I’m not surprised progress happened either because I got attacked nearly 10 years from now. But I was in an uber today, heard a dog bark, almost had a panic attack. I drew myself out with a grounding skill, and then was super confused as to why it bothered me so much. Then I realized, the attack will have been 10 years from now in 3 days. Of course I’ll have heightened PTSD symptoms!

though it came as a surprise to many, he never hid that he had a girlfriend. he just chose not to speak of you, unless prompted, which resulted in whoever asked about you being surprised at how he seemed to forgo his hard exterior when speaking of you.

you were his lock screen photo, in fact every wallpaper included you in it. couple photos of you two together and candid ones he'd take of you randomly. a polaroid picture of you with a small 'i love you!' written by you with sharpie on the white frame sat nicely in the clear case of his phone.

you were in the heart-shaped locket he'd keep on him at all times in the pockets of his outfits. he'd developed a habit of running his finger along the groves of the chain, opening it and raising it out just enough for him to see the photo, then safely putting it away.

your initials were in the laces of his shoes, your first letter next to his. the back of his favorite pair had an embroidered heart with your initials encased in a heart.

he was a private man. that's why his fans were so shocked when he had dropped two bombs on them all at once.

first, with a simple post of your hand in his, manicured with the colors of his hero outfit, with a noticeably large diamond adorning your finger.

but when he had let it slip that you two were expecting a baby in a t.v interview, nobody expected that he'd stay relaxed instead of being annoyed.

and not even you knew that instead of face- palming at his slip up, cursing or walking off set, that he'd proudly show the ultrasound. the one he'd cut up in a perfect small heart so it could fit into the other slot of the locket he adored so much.

Finding out you were pregnant was one of the best news he's ever gotten in his life. He was determined to be there, every step of the way. He becomes way overprotective over you as your maternity passes by. He would always be close to your side, terrified that if he leaves, he might lose you again.

He wouldn't let you do anything. Laundry? Nope you stay and rest! Grocery shopping? Nope give him the list of what you need. If he found you doing anything by yourself he would immediately step in and help or do it himself.

Whatever pregnancy cravings you want he would either make it for you or go out of his way to get it for you. He would also try it with you no matter how weird it was.

Endless shoulder, back, leg rubs to help sooth your tired and aching body. He can't imagine how tired you must be growing another human inside of you so he wants to take away an discomfort in any way he can.

Zayne:

He's a cardiac surgeon. He knows the anatomy and physiology of the human body. So he checks on you and your bump everyday to make sure everything is alright. At night he makes sure that you sleep in a correct and comfortable position.

Anything you crave he'll either cook for you or he'll pick up or buy. Whatever you need this man will do it all for you.

This man is always ready. He has all the medical dates and any important events written down in his schedule. He would have the best doctors to give you regular check ups, follow up tests, and even for ultrasounds. He would even have a bag packed ready for when your delivery arrives.

If anything felt wrong or you were anxious about anything, you would call him first before any of your doctors and he would immediately be on his way to you.

He would def have a folder of all the scans, tests, reports of all your baby stuff and keeps one in your shared bedroom and one copy in his office. Sometimes he'll go back and read the files and be nostalgic on how much weeks and months have passed by already.

He would have a week free in his schedule in case you deliver before or after the due date. So no surgeries or any meet up with any patients because all his time is yours.

Rafayel:

I think he would definitely be happy but deep down I think he would be nervous. You know this man is clingy but ever since you told him you were pregnant, anywhere you went he would be right beside you.

The more your bump starts showing, he would spend time out of his day talking to you and your baby. You two would spend so much time discussing names and plans for when the baby arrives. When your asleep, he would whisper quietly talking to the baby bump and basking in your beauty. He would fall asleep on your side for talking to the baby bump so late, one hand rested gently on your bump.

He would have an extra room ready for when the baby arrives. He would help pick out what furniture and what baby clothes to buy with you. He would tell you all the ideas of what he would paint for the walls for the baby room.

I def think this man would take pregnancy photo shoots or even paint you to capture the joy and anticipation. But no photo or painting can ever capture what beauty he truly sees in his eyes. He'll have an ultrasound picture in his wallet below a picture of you two and an extra empty space for when the child is born.

Sylus:

He would be by your side as much as he can. When you get morning sickness, he would immediately be by you, holding up your hair and rubbing your back. He would carry you back to bed and making you tea.

If you were to have any body aches and need a massage, he's already on it. He would have any ointments and anything you needed to feel comfortable or to ease any discomfort.

Although he wants to stay by your side at all times, he does have to work. This man is the Onychinus's Leader after all. He hates that he has to be so far away from you though. He'll try to stay in contact as much as he can. While he's away he'll have Luke and Kieran take care of things for you. He'll have Mephisto give him checkups if your asleep or taking naps. He'll hire a personal chef to cook you anything you want.

This man has all the money in the world. Whatever you want, you get it. You want this room to be the baby room? It's all yours. You want the whole floor to be the baby room? Say no more. Whatever baby furniture you look at, it's yours. Whatever color you want for the room, it's yours. And if you want it repainted for the 10th time, he'll make Luke and Kieran repaint it again and again.

If it were your 6th or 7th month into pregnancy you would tell him that you found out that babies in the womb can hear stuff outside. He would rest by your side, whispering things to the baby saying things like "Come out soon little one so you don't give mommy such a hard time in there." or "Maybe I should try to sing the baby a song." Which you immediately shut that idea down.

satoru hasn’t ever really paid any special attention to nor cared about his birthday, it’s been just a regular day to him. nothing special to celebrate, he’d just be a year older. that’s all that is to it.

it’s been like that, until you’d stepped into the picture and changed his life entirely. ever since he got together with you and his birthday has been a day full of surprises and precious memories that he swears to himself he’ll treasure for the rest of his life. it’s all thanks to you that satoru now has a reason to look forward to his birthday every year.

satoru is away on a quick mission, so you decide to take the chance of your husband coming back home late tonight and make his birthday cake yourself. since it’s the first time you celebrate his birthday as his wife, so you wanted to make something special this year. you’re currently in the kitchen, preparing the ingredients and the things you need to make the cake. you carefully place everything on the counter as you start working right away.

once you’re done with the cake, you place it on the table before you start hanging the decorations on the wall and setting the mood. the theme is obviously blue because it’s the color you associate him with the most. when you’re finished with that, you quickly get yourself ready and dress up as you wait for your husband to get back home. you can’t help but feel so excited to see him when he gets back because you have a special gift for him this year, you’re announcing your pregnancy. you’ve only found out about it just recently so you thought his birthday would be the perfect timing for the announcement.

not too long after you’ve gotten dressed you hear the jingling sound of satoru’s keys, signaling his arrival. luckily, you manage to turn off the lights last minute.

“baby? you here?” he calls for you, but you don’t respond. he keeps looking around trying to find you when you turn on the lights, appearing in front of him with the cake held in your hands.

“happy birthday toru!” you shout enthusiastically with a cheeky smile on your face. and satoru just couldn’t help but laugh at the cute little act of yours. he thanks you before he approaches you and gives your forehead a kiss as he places his hands on your waist.

the two of you sit down and eat the cake together.

“you know, i made it myself.” you say proudly

“so that’s why this year’s cake is so special. thanks, babe. you’re the best.” he replies before taking another bite.

“the cake might not be the only special thing of the day.” you ominously tell him. you can clearly see the slight confusion and anticipation on his face.

“what do you mean?” he asks curiously, waiting to know what you’re talking about. you take his hand and place it on your stomach.

“next year it won’t be just you and me, a little one is joining us.” you grab his other hand and entwine it with your own. “i’m pregnant, honey.” you happily announce your pregnancy to your husband.

“wait wait.. for real? babe, are you sure? am i gonna be a dad?” he asks, clearly still shocked by the sudden announcement. you nod as you bring him the ultrasound pictures of your baby as a confirmation.

you’re standing there right in front of satoru, watching how he’s reacting while eagerly waiting for his response. his reaction is a bit delayed due to his brain taking some time to process the news but once it hits him he lets go of your hand only to pull you close to him in a tight hug as he spins you around.

“this is the best thing i could ever ask for.. you have no idea how much i’ve been waiting for this, to have a family with you.” he says emotionally as a few happy tears escape from his eyes.

“you’ll be the best dad ever, toru. i love you.” you rest your hands on the side of his cheeks as you gently wipe away his fallen tears. he smiles softly, his hands placed on your waist as he leans closer to you. faces are only a few inches apart.

“i love you more than anything, babe. thanks for always making my birthday a day worth celebrating, i wouldn’t have it any other way.” he says before his lips capture yours in a passionate, loving kiss.

satoru is already looking forward to celebrating his next birthday with you and his little one.

slept from 9pm to 7am but was up for a while in the middle of the night tossing and turning—I get these growing pains at night in the ol’ uterus and it makes my sleep so restless. as always I hope that’s a good sign!!! today is a WFH day and it is very empty—no meetings, just two presentations I need to finish. I can tell I am probably going to feel very adrift in unstructured time if I don’t give myself some definite tasks… hmm. how about this for the day:

8-9 work from bed—I think what I’m dealing with right now is there are lots of things I COULD be working on but all of them have really far-off deadlines so nothing feels super urgent and then I end up not using my open time well when I have it. so I am going to spend this hour making an “identified needs” list that I can shuffle into a rough hierarchy of importance and use to guide my choice of what I work on next. also I’ll eat breakfast

9-10 maybe walk the dogs? physically I don’t feel so great but fresh air might help

10-10:30 shower/get ready

send email reminder for Tues event and check RSVP list numbers again

10:30-11:30 finish slides for Thurs

11:30-12:30 finish curated list + guiding questions for Tues event then email faculty involved to give them an overview

12:30-1:30 give feedback on A’s draft, email faculty back, and reach out to MM

2ish-onwards head over to M’s to work together (on stuff tbd…) then dinner/movie
