The morning sun had long since shifted its axis towards the center of the sky, blazing down through cotton clouds that sailed the azure skies. Below them, in the open fields, west of the main base cacophony sounded, consisting of commands, groans and other sounds of effort as the Midnight Ranger performed their training. And today Jiyan had come to overlook the session himself, although it wouldn’t be the first time. He was often so preoccupied with tasks at the front lines that he didn’t have the time to be leading drills too frequently, but when he did get the chance to do so he would take it. While it wasn’t a full reprieve from the battle, it was still a stark contrast to the grotesque and twisted fates he’d see daily on the battlefield.

Jiyan was noticeably more disheveled by the end, hair messy and hanging in strands and clinging to his sweaty forehead, hands on his hips as his voice rose to meet all ears present. You have just been passing by, helping carry supplies that just came in, and loading old and empty boxes back to be refilled in the city. For once there was no rush that would make your legs ache or your lungs hurt, allowing you all the precious time to bask in the views, the soft chatter and, of course, your dear lover.

The sun caught his figure and formed a golden aura around him, his skin glistening, and you couldn’t help but take a seat at one of many big boxes at the side of the training grounds after you had finished your task. In passing you caught a few looks, and a few smiles of the soldiers you knew from before. They looked much  more lively, despite the rigorous training they just went through. It made your heart warm seeing them in better spirits, wishing nothing more than to see them prevail and be happy. And just as you had recognized a bunch of familiar faces did Jiyan conclude his small speech, about to dismiss everyone with advice of rest hanging on every word. He had spotted you from the start, when you were going by with supplies in arms and soon he’d have a chance to speak to you too, he thought.

“General Jiyan! General Jiyan, a word or two- if I may?” 

It was a voice of one of the new recruits, Jiyan noted as he gazed at the face of the youth, a boy of twenty or so years by the looks of it, and eyes full of curiosity and admiration. He had come up to Jiyan just as he had turned towards you, prompting him to stay rooted in his spot a little longer. A few more young rangers came up behind the recruit, sharing the same curiosity but also being aware of whatever the recruit had on his mind.

“Yes? Is there something you need?” Jiyan questioned, looking at the young man. From his peripheral vision he spotted you moving down from the boxes and joining his side, staying quiet after a short word of greeting towards his Rangers, but your presence felt like a cool breeze under this sun, and he appreciated it all the more.

“I just wanted to say how great today’s training session was, we learned so much more than we did with our drill sergeant” he praised, smiling up at Jiyan all the while, “And I just wanted to ask whether or not you’ll be leading our training session tomorrow as well? Or any other day that is, we would really benefit from your teaching. I mean, you've seen it all for yourself at the front lines!"

The other few with him nodded along, prompting a small smile of pride to form on your face from seeing their fascination with Jiyan. To them he was everything they aspired to be - strong, enduring, tough but not lacking kindness or knowledge. There were times where they were scared to approach him, not knowing how he’d react to their questions, but from observing his interactions with others they warmed up to the idea and plucked all their courage. 

A polite smile curled up on Jiyan’s face as he regarded the youth with gentle golden eyes. His presence as the drill sergeant today wasn’t due to his availability, but a simple coincidence and necessity to fill the shoes of their drill sergeant that had been injured due to Tacet Discords, and Jiyan just happened to be able to be there. “Ah, you have my thanks, rangers. If a replacement for your drill sergeant does not arrive tomorrow and I am not required to be at the front lines, then I will be leading your training tomorrow as well” he told them, which pleased them greatly to hear.  “Although I’m sure Sargent Jin’xi has much more to teach you, something much more important for your sound development in this profession. You cannot take his method lightly. He has seen everything I have, as well. His knowledge is as valuable to your growth, and even more so than mine. You need the good foundation he can give you” He was aware of how confusing or hard it could be to listen to Jin’xi, as the sergeant had quite the eye for details and slow progress in lessons due to his meticulous nature - but that also made him all the better for his station. He was observant and could pluck out bad behavior and mistakes like weeds, and that is better to be done here, than in the middle of battle.

“We know, general, but sergeant Jin’xi is just so hard on us.. sometimes it really seems like he has no limit” one of the women standing behind voiced, earning a look from Jiyan that spoke of his understanding but also his disagreement with the subtle message they were trying to send - please, replace sergeant Jin’xi, or, save us.

“Yeah! One time I accidentally mixed up the weapons in the storage room and he had me do everything on my own again, saying how such mistakes can’t happen on the front lines, how it all means life or death” the first young man said, brushing his fingers through his hair and sighing. “I understand it, but we just got here..” he added and looked at his comrades. 

What was supposed to be a short chit-chat turned swiftly into a gossip galore about Jin’xi. Had Jiyan been any different from the man he was currently, he would’ve scolded them, taken offense at how they spoke about his colleague, but he was in their shoes once, always on edge around the higher ups, and he wished not to bring that same unease to them. He didn’t fail to remind them to not speak like this in front of everyone, and to respect sergeant Jin’xi when he does eventually return, and they gave him their word.

The first young man that approached looked at Jiyan after their discussion, both hands on his hips and looking more relaxed. “We won’t forget that, I promise on my last name! Still, we appreciate your kindness, and one more thing dad- I MEAN- GENERAL!” His entire face crumbled into a look of terror, and all eyes of the group shot to him, looks of surprise and amusement appearing before several of them erupted into laughter after taking a wary glance at Jiyan - who was not offended.

“General Jiyan! Oh god- I apologize, general, I don’t know where that came from-” he stammered, shaking his head and his hands, face flushed from sheer embarrassment. More choked words tumbled out of his mouth, desperate to excuse himself and forget about this. 

Jiyan can’t help but chuckle, the corners of his lips twitching in a failed attempt to hold back his smile. “At ease, recruit. You have not done any crime” he nods at the other, his eyes softening and not showing any sign that he’s about to dish out some punishment - that’d be ridiculous. 

You can’t help but crack a laugh too, covering your lips with your hand as to stifle the sound, but your mirth was evident in your eyes. “Have I missed a chapter? I didn’t know you had kids, general Jiyan” you teased, earning a few shocked but heavily amused looks from the group. Giggles erupted once more, all stifled as they waited for Jiyan to respond to the quip.

Jiyan turns his head to look at you, his eyes boring into yours and questioning your intentions - you can read the thoughts going through your head and your smile only widens in a silent call to a challenge of wits. He didn’t expect you to say something like that, but he could only huff, hiding his amusement under an abrupt guise of confusion.

“Kids?.. Why, I had hoped you’d recognize your own kids, Miss (L/N)” he shot back instantly, making your jaw drop at his rebuttal, a gasp flying past your mouth. “General” you said, accusations plenty heard in your tone as the atmosphere melted into one of jest and play.

Many eyes flickered between you and him, taking in the easy way you conversed with one another.

“Yes? What’s the surprise for? The recruits look up to you too, if you fail to notice. You can confirm with them right now” he is shifting the spotlight to you, and the recruits are quick to jump in too. “It is right, miss. Personally I haven’t been around you for long, no longer than I interacted with the General, but you two are alike, you treat us new ones with a firm but kind hand” a young woman said, smiling at you, and you feel your heart climb into your throat. 

“Can we really be surprised, they’re always together too-” "Aren't they married?" Whispering is heard amidst the group, and Jiyan looks amidst the faces to catch the one that said that but fails to do so, or refuses to weed out the individuals, and his eyes go back to you to catch your response. It’d be a lie to say your relationship with him was a secret, everyone knew there was something deeper between the two of you, something you didn’t show in public due to the war and status, but it was undeniably there. Still, hearing it loud and clear like this was like a splash of cold water. Despite their chatter, the group remained respectful, sweet in their musings.

“Ah, quiet, I do not want to hear it. This is about you, General”

“Ah, don’t run from it now. You’re the one that started this” he commented, rolling his eyes as he folded his arms over his chest. “Anyway, you’re all dismissed. I have a word with.. mother over here. Off you all go. I will see you all in the morning for another training drill. Get some rest” he speaks to the group, gazing upon their faces, only to see how they looked at him with some sort of childhood wonder, and that’s when he realized he must be flushed too. A sheepish smile bloomed on his face. 

“Alright! Awesome-” “Yes, sir!"

“Have a good day, General! And you too, Miss!” 

He watched them leave, bidding them all farewell, and when he turned to face you again he saw you pinching the bridge of your nose, hiding away the biggest smile of the day, the apples of your cheeks redder than before. The Midnight Rangers were undeniably close in connection, having spent so many nights and days huddled together for warmth or laughs or protection, and this small exchange only warmed Jiyan’s heart, to witness how positively they felt around him - and you. 

“Didn’t think we’d become parents so soon. Have we gotten that old already?” Jiyan commented, tone softer in a way he only addressed you when you were alone, and there was no one near the training grounds to hear you.

“Oh, shut up, Jiyan-” you playfully snapped, biting your lip as you looked up at him, stifling a giggle. “You are unbelievable!”

“Hm? Did you expect me to stay quiet today or ignore your quips?” he smiled bigger and you have to admire the little dimples in his cheeks as the smile reaches his eyes, making them squint at you softly.

“I don’t know what I expected, but your response was certainly the last thing I expected” you replied and shook your head, as if that would shake off the redness tinting your skin, imitating him now by crossing your arms. The two of you were looking at each other, wordlessly admiring your red faces while throwing these little quips at one another. 

“Ah.. you’ll get used to it, dearest wife”

“Enough about the papers, so about the Halloween Party? Any ideas for a costume yet?” Deryl’s question is drowned out by your intrusive thoughts. Idle chatter among your friends grew distant as you recall recurring memories of your night with Crowe. Still feeling the ghosting touch of his hands along your lower back. Nimble fingers threading themselves through your hair. The way his lips felt against your nape. Against your lips. Against your core. A familiar voice rang out beside you, their gentle resonance pulling you back down from your clouded thoughts.

“Are you feeling okay?” Crowe asked, his delicate hand falling onto your shoulder. His taller stature leaned forward, placing himself in your peripheral view. His brows furrowed, his expression obviously concerned by your silence. You took a moment to get the words out, azure orbs searching yours patiently,  “Just thinking about last night.” you answered quietly, not wanting the others to catch wind of your private encounter yesterday. Crowe smiled fondly in response, knowing eyes dipping to the scarf wrapped meticulously around your neck.

“Explains why you’re wearing this scarf on a particularly hot day.” he hummed, toying with the fraying ends of the wool. You sunk your head deeper into the plush material, attempting to hide yourself from his dreamy gaze.  

Only the stars would know of your secret, or so you thought. 

Another looming figure entered the hallway as Sol exited his previous class, crimson eyes locking with your own. As you turned your head to meet Crowe’s, Sol’s gaze darkened, immediately noticing the intimate proximity between the two of you.  Violent recollections plagued him, unbeknownst to you, his lips pulled into a thinline of disgust. “Crowe, is it okay if I leave, I have somewhere to be?” You asked, hesitantly pulling away from him. 

“Is that so?” He questioned, you frowned, picking up on the disappointment laced through his sweet tone. “I’ll see you after lunch? That is if you want to, of course.” His eyes silently pleading for your reunion once more. 

“I’d love to.” you nodded, reaching out to give his hand a reassuring squeeze before departing. His gaze softened, watching you closely before leaving his side. As you approached your new found friend, his expression changed drastically. Sol’s lips forced a soft smile, Hyugo followed suit.

Hyugo beamed as you both exchanged pleasantries, explaining how excited he was to meet you, and how much Sol talked about you. You did your best to reciprocate Hyugo’s energy, immersing yourself in conversation, taking no notice of Sol’s intense gaze trained at your neck. His hand tensed, catching sight of dark blemishes peeking out from the hem of your scarf. 

“Sol? What do you think?” you turned your attention toward him, Hyugo gave Sol a look of warning, well aware of the internal war going on in his head. “Should we skip class and head to the arcade?” you hid your concern with a small smile, awaiting his answer.

His trembling fingers curled into a tight fist, reigning in his composure. He nodded, silently agreeing with your plans.

A few minutes later, he returned with two steaming cups of coffee—yours with a touch of cinnamon, just the way you liked it, and his plain and strong. He set them down on the table with a flourish, as if he were presenting the most luxurious drinks in all of Monaco.

“Voilà, mademoiselle,” he teased, his British accent a bit exaggerated as he sat down across from you.

I saw a post talking about how there’s a deep mischaracterization of Mk in the fandom specifically about his monkey form and I’m here to dissect it. (WIth doodles!)

Tldr: Will Mk end up hurting his family in season 5 due to his new Monkey form? Most likely no, but it is possible that he indirectly hurts them by not understanding the limits of his power.

First things first let’s collect a list of attributes that we know Mk has from past seasons. This will serve as a spine or checklist to see if certain actions are possible. A thing to keep in mind though is the ranking of each attribute as the writers of LMK wrote there are characters as complex and sometimes abandon certain character values if their center value is threatened. 

Mk’s character value list (in my opinion) is as follows: 

-Family 

-Strength 

-Freedom 

-Dependability 

with family and strength being so close to each other, so sometimes strength ends up as Mk’s main concern. Of course, all of these end up mixing at times and in the first seasons we see the mixing of these values gets him in trouble 

Desiring the freedom of choice over listening to Wukong (Pig Pong Panic). Wanting to be dependable but overestimating his strength (Duplication). Wanting to be strong but forgets his family in the process (shadow play). Eventually, he gets his priorities in check and has ended up sticking to this list for most of seasons 3 and 4. 

Now his flaws (in no particular order): 

Impulsivity 

Forgetfulness 

Stubbornness 

Blind devotion 

He’s overcome a lot of these when he was forced to learn them in season 3. His stubbornness to not tell anyone what was happening with the LBD got people hurt. His impulsivity with his actions ended up crashing the ship, and almost sold his family to a goldfish demon.

So he’s had to come up with methods of working around that. Mk’s blind devotion to Wukong almost got Mei killed, and we see how he changes because of it. At the end of season 3, Mk doesn’t explicitly say that he sees Wukong in a new light but he heavily implies it with the metaphor of a bowl of noodles. 

So… Will Mk go crazy and end up hurting his friends? 

I highly doubt it. While I toyed with the idea, Mk is a lot smarter than the fandom usually gives him credit for. He knows Wukong is flawed, and he still trusts in him because he knows Wukong is trying. Mk has faith in Wukong’s strength and the fact that Wukong also heavily values family, even if his isolation makes it a lot harder for him to do so. Just rewatch the ending of season 3 where Wukong apologizes to Mk and watch as Mk comes to the realization that Wukong is trying so hard to make up for his past. (They also drive this point home in season 4 with how disappointed Wukong sounds at himself for not finding Mk in the scroll in the season finale.)

So what about Mk’s impulsivity? I doubt that’d be something that directly harms his friends. He’s worked on his impulsivity by working with others (Redson in season 3 and Mei’s planning in season 4) to help fill in the gaps in his plans. In order for his impulsivity to harm others, you’d have to break that family value first or raise that value of strength and freedom. Most likely this flaw can manifest in Mk overdoing his Monkey form ™  and sending a shockwave that accidentally hurts the people around him.  Probably manifesting either in training or while having fun with Mei (think about how Mk was in the Bad Weather episode). 

Okay, what if Mk is tricked into it like he was in Season 4 (back to the flaw of blind devotion)? Mk has spent every season backstabbed by someone he trusted. We see him snap at Azure after he finds out that he was going to keep Wukong in the scroll. He snaps at Macaque in season 4. It’s safe to say that he’s learned, at least partially, to not trust others so blindly. Mk is also supposed to have gotten the “skill of self-reflection” in “Revenge of the Spider Queen” but his reflecting has mostly just impacted the other flaws.

But there is one possibility I toy with, bottled up emotions. Mk has extremely big emotions but hates showing any emotion that can be seen as negative. He loves being happy and he’s not afraid to show it, but as soon as those emotions turn to doubt, anger, or sadness he bottles them up fast. He knows he can rely on his family, but he’s stubborn and thinks that his emotions aren’t worth that hassle. Take the ending of season 3 where Mk states that “he tries not to think too hard” about his own place in the universe, which could be due to a fear of losing the value of freedom if he has a specific role to play in the universe.

It’s worsened by the fact that every. other. character. avoids. their. emotions. No other characters in this series are open about their emotions except Tang and Sandy. And from season 3 (and a bit of season 4) we know that Mk doesn’t view Tang in an extremely positive light.

Not exactly negative, but his admiration lies more on the rest of the team. Macaque points this out in season 2 stating in “Shadow Play” that Mk should talk out his insecurities, but no one else does that. 

That being said Mk isn’t entirely forgetful either. Macaque was a season 1 villain with his betrayal going through season 3. Mk’s high value of family, and flaw of blind devotion, make him want to give him a chance as Macaque’s past is connected with Wukong’s. HOWEVER, Mk is also stubborn and hasn’t forgiven Macaque’s actions. That’s why he snaps, plus the fact that Macaque is terrible at direct communication. Like I said before, Mk won’t directly hurt anyone he cares about, but if his monkey form is highly connected with his emotions (as most magic tends to be) having those bottled-up insecurities might accidentally cause Mk to unleash more power than he means to.

𖤓 !! — Maybe, thinking..? MK / strong! Reader (also tysm for the request, this was fun to write :3)

𖤓 !! — "right, so I want someone to explain how we got into this mess in the first place." Pigsy would ask as everyone took a pause on their respected task. Mei and Red Son were over in one corner, MK and you were standing in the center, Tang was with Pigsy, and Wukong and Macaque were in the other room; though they both would peak their head in, Macaque sorely unamused while Wukong was wondering why they had all been stopped. Surely, stopping everyone to ask one little question isn't the smartest thing. Especially when you were on a time restraint there was only half an hour left before everyone dies! (not really) "Well from what I remember.." Tang started, tapping his chin before he began to recount the details that lead everyone into this unescapable room:

𖤓 !! — MK, Mei, and you were at Wukong's 'shame temple' a few miles outside of the city. Ever since the Azure King was defeated, and no new villains seemed to be in the future, there had been a lot of down time for everyone. Though down time usually didn't halt any sort of training, especially when it was Wukong who was teaching the lessons. So, instead of spending your Saturdays at the arcade, or doing literally anything else, Wukong had the three of you train, for whatever reason.

𖤓 !! — It wasn't fun, not one bit. Especially since Wukong never really asked if Mei and you wanted to join, he just told you two to be there to help with MK's training. (I mean, if he had given you two the option, you and Mei would have said yes but it was a lot less fun when you're given no option.)

𖤓 !! — "And just like that, you can counter any attack that comes your way!" Wukong finished with a grin, jumping up and sitting back against the cloud that formed under him. He seemed rather indifferent to the staring kids, one of which was completely confused and the other two being mystified with Wukong's guidance. "You literally just told us a story about yourself!" You would point out, cocking an eyebrow up at Wukong with a suspicious look. What was a story from, probably, hundreds of years ago meant to help with basic counter attack training? But, Mei and MK seemed to hype up Wukong's story, leaving you stuck in the middle of their gushing. "Aw, stop it you two!" Wukong feigned being gushed and flushed, "I know, I'm just that awesome!"

𖤓 !! — Sadly, as you expected, being awesome wasn't exactly the recipe needed for MK to learn how to counter strike against an opponent. And he had to sit out after being bashed a few times by Mei and Wukong, as you refused to hit your boyfriend after he was ill trained my his mentor! Which Wukong seemed to put Wukong's panties into a twist: "I taught him how to do it! He just needs a couple more times to practice and it would be helpful if you helped!" Wukong bitterly stated, crossing his arms as MK laid under a pile of rock not too far away. His groan was the only thing you needed to hear to know that Wukong hadn't taught him shit. Mei rushed over to help MK out of his tough spot, as he was sore, and you only gestured over to the two with a 'you're seeing this, right?' to Wukong. Though he only glanced away, crossing his arms, with a denying face. Of course, what else should you have expected from the 'Great Sage' himself? "Well if you think you know better, then you fight me!" Wukong would mumble under his breath, unaware that you had caught his words. But you crossed your arms and shrugged your shoulders, "Sure." Leaving a slightly startled Wukong in response to your response, and a worried MK and Mei.

𖤓 !! — Now MK knew you trained, and he knew you were strong, you've helped on missions before and even helped MK with some more hand-to-hand combat training when Wukong wasn't available. Yet he couldn't help but worry about your duel with Wukong! And it wasn't him doubting you in no means, it was more of a rational thought process? You were mortal, Wukong was immortal. Wukong had the staff, you choose to fight with your fists. You both were trying to prove some point that MK had just barely caught when Mei managed to grab him out of the rubble. It was kind of an unfair fight. Plus, Wukong had hundreds of years of experience over you! "Hey, you know you don't have to do this... right?" MK shouted as he pressed an ice pack to his cheek, Mei rapping another bandage over his injured arm. "Don't worry about me, I got this." You would mumble back to MK, glancing over at him with a small smile, before turning back to Wukong. You were going to put this godly monkey in his damn place!

𖤓 !! — Well, at least you intended to. But now you only sat to the side of the training ground, having been dragged away and forced to sit on the ground by MK and Mei as you wouldn't stop trying to fight Wukong. Even after he may or may not have thrown you into a mountain and slapped you around with his staff, but hey, you managed to get a good few punches on him! "Self confidence and being overly cocky won't get you anywhere in a battle!" Wukong would scold you, despite you not being his student, as he stood beside the trio. You would flinch as MK would tie the bandage on your arm a little too tight, but gave Wukong an unamused glance anyways. You couldn't believe he was tying to scold you after you proved your point! Sure, you didn't win, but you showed Wukong didn't really teach MK how to counter attack, "You're literally bleeding out of your nose right now." "Alright, can we not fight right now? You're both bleeding!" MK mumbled, fumbling with the bandages as Mei ran back out with some disinfectant spray. She paused upon seeing MK bandaging up your wounds and shouted at him, playfully, that he needed to disinfect the wounds first!

𖤓 !! — "And then Wukong said: 'If you had used your head you would have figured out all the times you could have counter attacked me.' and then that somehow spiraled into us coming into this escape room." Tang would finish his little recap to a heavily unamused Pigsy, who slowly turned over to where the two culprits stood with their partners. To say he wasn't upset would be an understatement. "We're in here because you challenged the Monkey King to an escape room to see who's smarter?!" Pigsy watched as you pieced your lips to his shouting, glancing away from him for a moment. You would slowly shrug your shoulders before letting out a questionable, "Yes?" To which the room only grew silent. The only sensible ones giving you and Wukong an glare, one you could only guess meant that you both somehow overlooked something. Something important, something critical. Something that may or may not make this whole trip a waste of time, other than a lovely 'family bonding' experience. "But we're all completing the same escape room." Red Son would finally point out. Ah! There is was! That one critical thing that was overlooked, there would be no clear victor because everyone's combined efforts were being placed into this escape room. Yeah, neither of you thought that one through.

𖤓 !! — "-And hey, maybe we didn't complete the escape room, but we sure learnt a valuable life lesson!" Wukong would start after everyone had gathered back into Pigsy's after the escape room. Even with the hour time-limit that was given, no one managed to pool together a way to escape the escape room (that didn't include breaking things). Wukong waited for someone to amuse his banter. Though he stood discarded in the center of Pigsy's as everyone took a seat either at a booth or the counter. Tang would order a bowl of noodles and Pigsy went to go cook said noodles while you sat next to MK, watching as Red Son and Mei bickered over something. Macaque would snicker, sitting in a booth behind Wukong, as he was still ignored; He was enjoying Wukong getting a little of his own medicine for once, "No one cares, Wukong!" And despite the defiantly odd day that just occurred, you were finally able to just sit back with your boyfriend, even more a minute, as his mentor went to set down defeated. You would take MK's hand under the counter, watching as his attention would peak and he snuck a glance over at you. He grew a little flustered upon seeing your smile and couldn't help but smile back. No matter how strong either of you are, physically or mentally, there was surely always a weak spot in both of you for each other.

𖤓 !! — I couldn't add this into the story, but here's some extra points I wanna include!!: - MK def worries about you when you help in missions, no matter how strong you are. It's just something in his brain because he wants to protect everyone and his friends. You let him pick out the prize. Cute couples date, always. - If you want to, he'll come with you if you want to train or go to the gym. Though, 8 times out of 10 he will just be there for moral support; Sitting in a corner nearby on his phone, cheering you because he's so proud of you no matter how much you can lift. Though, defiantly sometimes uses his golden sight to make sure you're not straining yourself. - Cools down at the zero gravity arcade with you after <3

The Hunter's Association Headquarters is towering, twenty-story building located in/near the heart Linkon City. Through in-game interactions with Captain OTTO-CSE and Tara, we learn that it is located next to Movere Bridge (top), within walking distance of Azure Square (bottom), and within walking distance of Tide Street (which is within walking distance of Azure Square).

The Main Story actually gives us two different UNICORNS locations. It is initially said to be on the 3rd floor of the HQ building. But later, the protaganist mentions "the lobby of the UNICORNS building". I'm unsure if this was an unintended contradiction or if there are multiple Hunter's Association affiliated buildings in Linkon City.

My review on episode 5 + some comparisons with manga and ln1.

It's mainly about Souheki because if i don't talk about them every chance i get i will explode.

Start of the episode ,i love the idea of using the sound the Ramune bottle and marble to attract Atsushi's n audiences' attention.It's a shame that they didn't animate Kunikida's soft smile when Ranpo was being even more rude in the manga.

annnnnnd ofc he's gonna focus on the marble and leave Atsushi sitting there awkwardly. Ranpo autism moment.

Atsushi thought Ranpo can't do anything without an ability is funny.Atsushi sweetie that's some wild assumption for a guy you just met a few days ago.He really just saw Ranpo can't take the train and assumed the worst lol.

this scene is always interesting to me because this is the only time we saw Ranpo paying respect to the dead like this.Now i have a few guesses of the reason.

1.a simple one is that maybe he did this all the time,after all we only saw him solve crimes with real bodies like two times.in perfect crime arc they were on rush.

2.Ranpo actually said "oh it's a lady",so yeah maybe he only did that to certain people

3.it's the start of the series so eveything is still uncertain

I don't have anything to add here,i think we could all agree dazai being there wasn't a coincident.

Another thing i mourn not making into Anime is that Ranpo saying even Dazai is an enigma to him in manga.it adds more layer in their relationship.tbh it's a bit boring if Ranpo always knows what Dazai is up to.

Now it's cute seeing Dazai defending Ranpo like that because i dont think minoura would actually hit him or something,maybe Dazai just wants to stop the bickering.

I love Ranpo's motto "All's well that's well for me" because it just like him.It seem self-center at first, but if you know him a little better, you'll know it actually means as long as he's fine he can make sure everyone else is fine.It's not just the meaning,this is how everyone's impression of him at first vs when they get to know him.

this part annoyed me the most cause Dazai looks so fond in the manga ,but he looks passive and serious in anime.LIKE WTF WAS THAT???DAZAI NEVER LOOKED AT RANPO LIKE THAT>>this leads to my biggest complaint of this episode⬇

it has been talked many times how messed up the azure messenger arc aka light novel 1 adaption is.But I want to add it was so poor that it has already affects this episode.In the manga, Dazai didn't explain how he knows Ranpo didn't have an ability to Atsushi.The explanation here is actually straight up pull up from ln1 what he told Kunikida after he first met Ranpo.BUT because Bones don't wanna properly adapt the novel, they have to stiffly add it here.So that's why Dazai seemed serious when testing Ranpo,they want to add the impression this is the first time he discover it.

Do you want to know another fucked up thing about this scene is?They phased it like Dazai never work with Ranpo , that they're unfamiliar with each other.But in reality, Dazai has saw Ranpo's "ability"the very first time they met.They have worked together so well that they received their own name "Souheki".Dazai admires Ranpo so much that he constantly compliment him.

What is a favorite moment in any of your fics?

So I have a few favorite lil bits that I really love. I think anything more figurative has a special place in my heart. One is from the fourth chapter of my first fic, The Awkward In-between:

"Katniss, you did it to save me. You could have let me die, but instead you- you risked your life, again, to save mine. If the gamemakers never made that last second rule change, would you have- gone through with it?" Katniss looks across the lake, thinking back to the moment right before they were declared the winners, poisonous berries laying on her tongue, waiting to be crushed between her teeth. She nods, squinting up at him, then looks away. "Why?" he says, in a near whisper, shifting to shield the sun from her eyes. Looking up at Peeta, it's as if Katniss has never truly seen him before this moment. Like a moth, her silver eyes are drawn in. His hair has dried haphazard and wild, and the sun, now directly behind his head, haloes his curls, setting them ablaze. The mesmerizing azure of his eyes are intense as the blue center of flame. He is a vision. Her sudden terror isn't that his fire would ignite her, but that his own light would be snuffed out, and she'd be forced to flit around in the dark forever, his loss leaving her an empty shell.

Another bit I love is from a one-shot, The Other Side of the War:

“I remember the bread,” says Peeta. He describes it to me, and I wonder if he saw the video. But then he mentions the dandelion, something I’ve never spoken of aloud to anyone. He pauses, thinking for a while. “I must have really loved you. Did you love me?” he says.  I start to answer and then cough. I think I might choke on the jagged shards of my heart.  Loved.  It feels a bit like being stabbed. Have I been stabbed? I can’t remember… oh well Clove sliced my face, and giving him an answer, a real answer, I think that’s what it will feel like. Cutting myself from throat to belly and peeling my skin back, exposing everything that is vital. But he’s in there somewhere, alone in the dark, thinking he’s unloved, not needed, not worthy. Where do I start? How can I explain what he means to me? “Love is a two sided coin,” I say, pacing. I can’t look at him. I know it’s cowardly, but I can’t. “On one hand you have to let yourself be vulnerable to allow yourself to love, and that takes a certain amount of bravery, to allow it. Because that vulnerability is a weakness.”  I pause and shake out my hands which have started to ache from clenching them so tightly.  “After my father died my mother may as well have, because she just sat for months not taking care of us, letting us starve,” I say. “And that’s when I learned that love is a threat to my survival. It’s why I was so angry after our first interviews, why I thought you were trying to make me look weak. It’s why…”  My eyes are burning and my throat is starting to close.  “I fought so hard,” I say. “Against loving you. I can tell you when I stopped. Fighting it. On the train that last time, after I had a nightmare, and you held me.” Tears are streaming down my face now. I’m not sure how long I'll manage to get words out before I’ll start sobbing.  “But when I look back, trying to figure out when it happened, when I started to love you, all I can see is always . It feels like even before I knew you, I loved you, like I was born with it.” I’m hunched over, one arm clutching my middle, the other arm pressed to the wall to keep myself on my feet. “I’ll die loving you,” I say, gasping out the last bit before I collapse in the corner of the room weeping, and maybe I hear shouting but I’m not sure because I’m so wrapped up in my confession. I hadn’t even realized any of it till the words had spilled from my mouth. I have so much regret, because I withheld this from him, and even though it wouldn’t have changed us being here, maybe it could have helped him somehow, given him comfort while he was trapped in the capitol. I might as well have tortured him myself. It was torture, what I did. And then I devolve into hysteria and feel the pinch of a needle. 

I'm quite fond of this description from the first chapter of my latest fic, The Apothecary's Daughter:

Cursing under my breath, my fingers fumble blindly and I break several matches on the striker. Finally I manage to light the lantern on the large wooden work table. Gripping its handle I ease open the rear door and peer through the gap.  The chilled moist air surges in and cuts through my night clothes. An involuntary shudder sputters down to my bones.  It’s the darkest span of night, that shrouded length when the earth mourns between the set moon and rising sun. Folk stories call it the witching hour, when the curtain between worlds is most flimsy. Mists, glowing weirdly in the starlight, drift eerily through the garden like a lake of dead writhing spirits. Rising from the wisps, where there should be nothing, is a lone form. A bolt of terror strikes through me; all the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end and my skin breaks out into goose flesh. Beyond the perimeter of bright light bleeding over the threshold, somewhere between the peas and the squash, stands a dark silhouette, her face shadowed. Is she some kind of wraith or spirit come to torment us? To enact her revenge for not saving her? Shivering, I raise my lantern higher, extending the golden circle outward. Abruptly the thing lurches towards me. I stumble back, swallowing a shriek.

My absolute favorite bit of writing is from an outtake from The Shape of Us universe from Katniss's mother's perspective, Lily's Lament:

There’s something to be said about being poor and in love, a feeling of invincibility, the two of you against the world. Who needs food when you have each other. Who needs fuel for the fire when we could keep each other warm in the night. Still, we did alright, with his salary at the mines, his trades from what he could gather in the woods, my skills as a healer.  My father never said a word after I’d left, and my mother stopped begging me to return home after my beautiful black haired baby was born. She told me I was tainted.  I was tainted. With him, and his love. It grew in the strands of my hair and lived in the taste on my tongue. It was pressed to my knuckles and my hip and between my thighs. It was my air and my food and the clothes on my skin.  And then he was gone.  I shattered into dust with him, my pieces borne away in the wind. There was no air for me to breathe, but I had no body that required it, so what did it matter? There was something I was supposed to live for, or I’d have joined him. Afterall, how could my heart go on beating when he carried it with him? I stitched myself together, atom by atom, till eventually I resembled something human. A patched work woman. I was not what I was before the supernova, I do not recognize myself since clawing out of that void. I did not rise shining from the ashes like a mythical bird. I could not find all the pieces that were me, because they were him. I was staring at twinkling dust motes caught in a beam of sunlight, wondering if any of the glinting particles were once him, when a tether that binds me here pulled me from the chair and forced me to the table. Slices of bread were forced into my hands. I knew the bread, and the hands that made it, from back when I was me. Something about it revives me a little, provides a spark. Hours or days later, Katniss, my tether, my beautiful black haired baby, brings me a rabbit. I managed to make a stew. More and more tasks present themselves and one day I find myself singing, because if I have to live, even if I can’t feel joy, he’d want me to sing, for them.  Prim was all golden smiles and pink forgiveness. She’s so happy to see me that it made me want to try to be happy too. Katniss was black snarls and glaring eyes. When I fractured I broke something in her, or our trust, or both. I think the parts of me that are missing were filled in with shame. I think shame has filled in the cracks in my bones. My failure to protect them from my grief nearly sent me back into the void. Instead I experimented with herb combinations until my brain has a more functional level of clarity. And I really started living again. For them. After Katniss’s first reaping I manage to catch Graham after his wife had already slipped back into the bakery. I wanted to thank him for the bread, the bread that saved us. He’s upset, he didn’t realize it had gotten so bad, but he didn’t give it to us, it was little Peeta.  He promised to look out for the girls in the future. I wanted to tell him it’s not necessary, but clearly I need all the help I can get. Instead I thanked him. And I saw in his eyes that still, after all these years, he loved me. I’m sure he could still see the apology written on my face like an epitaph. Graham. My first friend, my best friend. He’d proposed under the white lacy bloomed apple tree behind his parents bakery, and our parents drew up the contract delighted that it was a love match. And I did love him; I always will.  But when Rowan Everdeen came trading at our back door and I heard him singing I was drawn to him in a way I’d never felt. I was a moth to his brilliant flame and everyone and everything else was grey by comparison. Nineteen years later I still feel terrible for abandoning Graham.

Maybe I got what I deserved.

So how do you think wukong is feeling about mk and nezha being a thing?

Either as lotusnoodles or spicylotusnoodles

Mean he clearly likes nezhie, he knows he's a good reliable kid, he's strict but kind when you get passed his barriers. He'd be good influence especially training wise, wukong knows he falls short in areas and honestly nezha would be waaay better at teaching stuff.

On the other hand ...yeah he's got his fair share of issues, (honestly what long lived being doesn't have a mountain of issues? You live long enough you just collect that crap like trading cards or loose change.) he doesn't hold that against nexha, but....

There's the issue of his father, and the celestial realm as a whole. doubtful wukong trusts them not to try to involve themselves in the twos business in one way or another. Probably would have him anxious for MKs wellbeing and if nezha would be able to build up the guts to defend him from his dad again...

And in terms of the poly thing I'm sure he'd be somewhat stressed out because he was the center of the messy love triangle thing.

Granted the princes and mk for all there similarities are equally very different to him Mac and azure. So maybe it'll be fine??? His kid is pretty good at being peacemaker and is arguably more emotionally intelligent and aware then he was at his age...

I think that Sun Wukong really likes Nezha and considers him a friend. Sure they've had their differences, but who HASN'T the Monkey King had his differences with, tbh?? Plus, Nezha seems to really have his shit together the last few centuries and he thinks he might be a good influence on MK who sometimes has trouble focusing..

Of course, Wukong probably has no fucking clue about how he and MK have been encouraging each other about the whole self-sacrifice thing until way later at which point he is kinda disappointed in Nezha.. but then Nezha can just be like "well, you were gonna do the same thing but MK stopped you, soooo??? why disappointed???" and then they are at a standstill because Wukong is not quite articulate enough to argue with the guy at that point 😂

But yes, aside from that, I think the only thing that would give Sun Wukong pause about MK dating Nezha initially is just the reaction of Heaven and Li Jing specifically.

The guy caused quite a bit of trouble for them in season 5, and Wukong doesn't love the fact that he's kind of got an eye on MK now through Nezha... not that he thinks Nezha would, like, spy on MK on purpose for his dad or anything, it's just that he kinda does whatever his dad says, so if he asks about something... well, he'll probably tell him. And he doesn't need Heaven getting any more involved in MK's life. They always seem to assume the worst about the stone monkeys, and it definitely won't help that MK is now dating his boy.

Tai Lung as the White Tiger of the West

The White Tiger (also known as "Baihu" or: "白虎") is one of the five celestial guardians. She represents the cardinal direction of the west, autumn season and the element of metal from the five elements. As the queen of animals, she symbolizes protection and justice. One of her most famous legends is that whenever a tiger turns 500 years old, they gain white fur. Another famous legend is that the White Tiger will only appear when an emperor rules with absolute virtue and prosperity in the world.

One of the White Tiger's most extraordinary abilities is the ability to shapeshift. Legends say that she was granted this power by the Yellow Dragon. However, she usually prefers to remain in her default beast form. She is well-known for incredible physical strength, stamina & durability. In some legends, the White Tiger can control the wind.

Symbolizing the military, bravery and power, the White Tiger is typically shown in ancient army flags, banners and seals. Thus, she's strongly associated with China's military force and the protector of soldiers, warriors and generals. Some famous Chinese war generals are believed to be reincarnations of the White Tiger. She gains the most popularity during the Han dynasty. She appears in ancient city gates and tomb doors to ward off evil spirits. Her star appears in the novel "Tales of the Tang Dynasty" as a reincarnation of one of the major characters.

One of the main features the White Tiger and Tai Lung share is powerful physical strength. These two felines are both known to be one man armies who can take down hundreds all on their own. They also both have strong association with warriors and battles. Tai Lung's dedication to hard work can be tied similarly to the legend of tigers turning white when they turn 500 years old. One notable visual similarity they both share is the depiction of blue flames. Blue fires are known to be hotter than red fires.

One big difference between the White Tiger and Tai Lung is the usage of strength and power. The White Tiger strives to use her power to repel evil spirits and protect the innocent. Tai Lung uses his power purely for his own goals no matter the cost. The White Tiger understands the responsibility that comes with her goals while Tai Lung went on a rampage as a response to rejection.

As a celestial guardian, Tai Lung interacts with mortals the least out of others. Thus, he's regarded as the most aloof and mysterious since there isn't a whole lot written about him compared to the others. His appearances are so elusive, there is a legend where he'll be seen only when the emperor brings peace to the entire world. He mainly favors solitary time and is mostly focused on training. Sometimes, he'll meditate. On a rare occasion where he does interact with a mortal, it'll be a commander or general who highly worships him and is in need of army morale. Although Tai Lung's rare appearances are typically regarded as good luck, many mortals who have claimed to have seen seen him described him as:"scary", "terrifying" and "frightening".

Po, the Yellow Dragon of the Center:"He's the most powerful out of all of us. I have to admit, I once was extremely jealous of Po for being more powerful than me. However, he's the glue keeping us all together, so I eventually came to respect him. Besides that, I find it nice with how laid-back he is and admittedly, he's amusing whenever he's excited about something. Sometimes, we spar with each other. Although he wins most of the time, I still respect him. We occasionally hang out together at restaurants and bars. We even exchange jokes between each other. Overall, he's an admirable, wise close friend who is worthy as the center of the universe."

Chameleon, the Azure Dragon of the East:"That blue lizard is fun to tease sometimes. She can be pretty funny whenever she's mad. A long time ago, I sometimes challenged her for the position of leadership. However, she won fair and square each time and I find her skills and abilities to be commendable. She also highly admires my power and strength, which I do appreciate her for. We also sometimes spar together or use the hot springs together. Although I'm not a big fan of tea, I enjoy the taste of the black tea she makes."

Kai, the Black Tortoise of the North:"Ah, a quick-witted, clever war tactician in the battle field and in games. I'm always keen on his stories of his times on battlefields. He's a great guy who can easily make me laugh. We spar and have drinking contests together. One of our favorite things to do together is playing xiangqi together. His house is surrounded by rivers and lakes. I can't help but feel relaxed whenever I go to his house."

Shen, the Vermilion Bird of the South:"We don't usually hang out together alone. That pretty bird of flames can be a bit stuck up and vain sometimes. He'll say he's 'filthy' because a drop of tea stained one of his hundreds of robes. However, he does create spectacular firework displays, I'll give him that. It's nice that we can both agree on something sometimes."
