Yes, comforting swords hc are really great! How would Hanjin, Norimune and Azuki care for a sick Saniwa? :3

Hanjin,  Ichimonji Norimune, and  Azuki Nagamitsu Taking Care of Sick Reader (Gn Reader)

♡ Hanjin often talks about how life is so fleeting like dust floating in the air. The swords don't have to worry about sickness and age ending them. Only the battlefield. Which means that Hanjin always has an eye on you. He knows that you are a human sage that could have their string cut at any moment. He is the very first sword to ever notice something wrong with you. Even if you don't even feel sick yet.

♡ Hanjin is probably the one that is by your side the least just because he believes he will do more harm than good being around you. He considers himself trash and believes if he hung around you, especially when sick, he will just cause you to fall more ill. 

♡ Begs Yagen to take time off from his missions to take care of you, even if you just have the case of a small cold. He’ll even be a substitute for him in missions. Hanjin will be the type that will send other people to help take care of you while waiting on the sidelines and hope for the best outcome.

♡ Hanjin is very distant from many people and doesn't really know how to handle emotional vulnerability that well. If he has to come in to take care of you, he will be further away and just make sure that you stay in bed. Perhaps will let you watch him paint his nails or paint yours if the smell doesn't bother you.

♡ After he gets adjusted to the situation, he’s fussing over you, adjusting your blankets, checking your temperature, making sure you’re finishing your food, etc., but would huff at you to hush up if you ever mentioned it. He still doesn't think being by your side is a good thing for your health but if no one else is doing it, he will.

♡ There will be times where you awake and hear him muttering things under his breath because he believes you are still asleep. Things like, "I know life is fragile but don't take them away. They still have so much to do. If you want to take anyone, take trash like me."

♡ When you finally get better, you can see Hanjin lingering around and watching you from afar. Almost as though he is still scared that you are unwell. After a day or so, he will be back to his usual self and leave you alone for the most part. His anxiety going down ten fold.

♡ The last thing he says to you about your sickness is "Don't let yourself get sick like that again. If you overwork yourself then you get no work done while you are sick. Look after yourself first, dummy." He may not show it well but he does care for you greatly. Don't take his words too close to heart.

♡ Norimune is probably the first person to notice your illness, considering how close of an eye he keeps on you. In a heartbeat, he’s pulling out a handkerchief and taking your temperature with the back of one of his hands. Although he is often a teasing man, he takes your health seriously. He knows how scary it can be when someone has an illness that can't be taken care of. He was a sword of Okita Soji and we all are aware of how sick Okita became over time.

♡ Depending on how evidently ill you are, you’re either lead to the infirmary or hefted into his arms and tucked into your bed. He will not mess around. If you try to argue with him or get out of bed, he will just smile down at you and say "Don't make me tie you down."

♡ Perhaps he goes a little overboard with the worry but he wants to make sure the same thing that happened to Okita doesn't happen to you. All things considered, he is rather calm when taking care of you. He makes sure you have plenty of water and makes sure you have a wet cloth over your forehead to help you cool down.

♡ When you inevitably fall asleep, Norimune won't stay in your room. He will take your temperature one last time before exiting the room. If you have trouble falling asleep, he will get you some tea and tell you fun stories to help you slowly drift off to sleep.

♡ Norimune doesn't know how to take care of sick people so he will often get the swords that actually do to check in on you from time to time. The best he can do is to make sure you have company and make sure you are eating/drinking plenty to get well.

♡ He will let you work in your bed if you really want to do that. However, you are under a time limit before he takes it away and tells you that you have to now rest. He isn't a man that messes around. You know his word is law so there is no point in even trying to get it back. Bed time.

♡ As much as he would love to stay by your side constantly, he has other stuff to do in the citadel and go on missions. So you will see all the Ichimonji family under his order. They all take shifts to pop in and check if you need anything or to make sure you aren't working too much. They will hide all your paperwork if you try to overdo it.

♡ Nansen is probably the only one that will listen to you and actually give you the work. Scary when Norimune finds out and is suddenly behind the poor cat with a menacing grin.

♡ When you get better, Norimune will joke about how you need to take better care of yourself and that perhaps he should also get sick so you can fuss over him like how he did to you. Though that may be more of an excuse to not do work and just spend the day with you...

♡ Azuki gets terribly worried the moment you even let out a sniffle or cough. He is aware how hard you work yourself and sometimes stress can cause someone to fall ill. He would try to convince you to take it more easy for the future days so you don't actually fall sick.

♡ If you do fall ill, oh god. He’s a bit overboard on taking care of you. “Did you take your medicine? Are you sure?” He will constantly in and out of your room with hot foods to help you, medicine, and plenty of tea. He will make sure you are eating and resting! He keeps all the kids out of your room even though they really want to see you. Azuki is going to make extra sure you are taken care of.

♡ He is very worried about your well being because his past master, Uesugi Kenshin, fell ill often. Seeing the people he cares about fall ill and in extreme pain breaks his heart. Azuki doesn't ever want you to fall ill and pass away on him. Not like his old master. He knows he can't just take away your sickness and that makes him greatly upset. He knows medicine now a days are much better than the past but that doesn't cease his worry any.

♡ Normally Azuki would be a rather carefree and chill guy but when you are sick, that changes. No matter how much you beg to get up and work, he will not allow it and almost stand guard in your room to make sure you rest and not work. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. The only thing he will truly put his foot down to. However if you wish to walk around, he would allow it. Not too far from your room though! And he is by your side the whole way to make sure you don't stumble or faint.

♡ He comes to you so exhausted, bags under his eyes and disheveled hair. You have to remind him to take care of himself. It’s almost as if he’s the one who’s sick rather than you. He barely sleeps when you are sleep. He is still taking care of his duties outside of taking care of you. When he has to go on a mission, he asks someone to watch over you. He is by your side as soon as he gets back. Wounds? He doesn't know them.

♡ There will be times where you awake at random hours and see he is sitting by you, dozing off. Sometimes even asleep but in a position where he will awaken if the wind blows differently. If you need him, he is waking up and taking care of you.

♡ He doesn’t care about himself getting sick in result of making sure you’re okay, but if you insist, he’ll wear a mask around you. Doesn't mean he is leaving your side though!

♡ Azuki does spoil you though. Anytime you have to take some nasty tasting medicine, he is there with tea and sweets he made for you. He says that sweets help regain strength but it is really his own way of saying he cares and showing you by making something special.

♡ When you do get better, you have never seen Azuki so happy yet so exhausted. He is overjoyed the day he takes your temperature and sees that it is back to normal. You getting up and not feeling light headed makes him grin from ear to ear. As happy as he is, he is also very exhausted from overworking /himself/. You may see him missing for a day or two as he regains sleep.

Child Saniwa: Azuki Nagamitsu, Ichigo Hitofuri, Horikawa Kunihiro

Azuki Nagamitsu

“I am pleased to meet you, my name is Azuki Nagamitsu...”

Azuki takes one goddamn look at this baby saniwa and is immediately claiming it as his child. Yes he’ll fight the entire citadel to stake his claim, he’s signing the adoption papers right now. No you cannot stop him. He can and will hold all of these children. He has big enough and strong enough arms.

“Pray tell, little one, do you like sweet things?”

“!!!”

Oh Azuki is a bit of an enabler. He does cook and bake a lot so expect him to sneak a lot of sweets and stuff to the lil kid. He already does it with the little ones around the citadel but even more so if he has a close relationship with the child saniwa. Yes he will ensure that they eat healthy and go to bed on time and maybe he’ll bribe them with sweets to finish their chores on time and all but hey, he does care for them a lot!

Azuki always calls them adorable, cute, and so on and so forth. He adores kids and maybe he has a photo album of adorable pictures of the lil saniwa and the rest of the kids around the citadel just napping together and sleeping together and holding hands and being cute, no he’s not crying.

HIs favorite thing to do with the kid is to go shopping with them! Holding their hand as they walk through whatever aisles they are looking at. Yes maybe he’ll sneak some of their favorite treats into the shopping cart, and maybe he’ll have to curb the child’s habit of snacking on everything but he caves in the end. He’s weak to their puppy eyes. Please help him, he might not be strong enough.

Is that one parent at a recital or something of their child’s with a video camera, crying, and screaming: “YOU’RE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE”

Azuki isn’t much of a fighter, it doesn’t mean he won’t fucking throw down with the government though. Watch him invite them over for a spot of tea and if they even make a damn negative comment about his master he’ll probably drop some poison in there. No he won’t he’ll just hug the kid closer to him and be that one meme of protecting Kevin Hart.

Azuki is already giving out head pats to all of the kids in the citadel, but to the Saniwa he’s rather physically affectionate. If they want a hug, they can get one. If they wanna hold hands? Hell yeah! Forehead kisses? Damn right he will. Loves giving them head pats and calling them a good kid the most.

Yes he will read them a bedtime story and of course it’s always ones filled with good morals and life lessons!

Azuki is also damn good with sewing. He will make little scarves, and patch up the clothing for the saniwa and even make some clothing for them! He loves it when they are warm and comfy in whatever clothing they like!

Yes Azuki spoils them rotten but he knows his limits. He is the typical overly proud dad who is happy whenever his kid is happy!

Ichigo Hitofuri

The minute Ichi-nii sees this lil kid is his master, he is already bending down to their level and asking where the fuck are their parents. He’s a bit shocked to see someone so young to be his master but he won’t mind. He does have a LOT of little brothers after all! He can take care of them, adding another lil sibling into the bunch won’t hurt anyone!

Adoption papers? Signed? Awataguchi? Accepting of their new sibling. Government? uNFORTUNATELY STILL ALIVE. He knows what it’s like to have trauma and some of his lil bros do have quite a bit of it. Honebami, Yagen to name a few, and pushing such a duty on to such a young person like this...Ichigo won’t lie and say that he isn’t angry at the government for doing this. They don’t deserve this, why can’t they live their life out as a normal kid????

Oh Ichigo has experience in taking care of children and his brothers will also pitch in to make sure that the Saniwa is loved for and taken cared of! They have an army of tantous, two wakizashis, and a tachi at their beck and call now. No one is going to hurt them ever again.

Like Azuki, Ichigo adores children and this little saniwa is no different. Yes he’s rather stern at times and he doesn’t like raising his voice at them but he does need to be a guiding hand at times. He would never hurt them, and he just wants the best for them. He may get angry at them and scold them but he is doing it gently.

Yes the little saniwa is going to get roped into AWT48. Ichigo will personally help them sing and dance as well! If they have stage fright, no worries! He’s happy to still perform for them none the less.

Cuddles. Oh man this little saniwa is never going to be without physical affection. From Ichigo’s cuddles and head pats to the rest of the Toushirous just loving on the kid and random hugs outta nowhere, this kid is going to be so loved. 

Ichigo can kinda cook? Not as good as like Kasen or Azuki or anything but he’ll at least make something edible. Probably some instant stuff from a box, more like it. He can decorate it super good though!

If the kid has nightmares, Ichigo is the first to wake up and comfort them. His bros have nightmares a lot and he’s a light sleeper anyway, so he can relate to that - and is always there for them!

Bedtime stories with morals and lessons? Of course! Duh! It’s a group storytime! All day every day!

Ichigo is the big brother everyone wants. The caring big bro who will take a bullet for you, and will probably have some choice words for the government. He cares for you as a parent would, and is just always there!

Horikawa Kunihiro

“Excuse me, has-”

“....Ah, a second child to take care of.”

Horikawa already has a child on his hands kane-san and he’s already pretty motherly so adopting a kid like this isn’t too out of his range. He’s a lot gentler with them than he is with Kane-san, but no less strict.

No he cannot trust Kane-san around this child. ONe time he left them alone and the kid was stuck in a tree and Kane-san had a broken leg trying to save the damn kid. He will only let them interact under his or another sword’s supervision. Can and will fight Kane-san just to protect this kid.

As Horikawa is good at cleaning, he always tends to the kid’s room and helps them wake up on time. He will most likely be the hawk mum, watching over them with every change he can get to ensure that they are doing their work on time.

He won’t spoil them as much as Ichigo or Azuki would, but he would praise them and reward them in his own way! Mostly with praise and a head pat and a forehead kiss if they’ve been extra good! Yes he’ll cook for them and give them treats but nothing super duper big.

The minute the saniwa calls him Hori-nii or something he will cry. Hell he’ll take being called mom. He doesn’t mind! He’s just happy that he can be there for them!

Oh dude Horikawa will spoil them not with food but with lil things! A flower from the forest, a lil trinket from the store as he passed by, so on and so forth! He knows his limits though.

Yes Horikawa will not hesitate to storm the government building and demand to see whoever the fuck is in charge. He wants to know who the fuck was responsible for this. This is a literal CHILD, where are their PARENTS. Who aLLOWED THIS? Horikawa is now this child’s mom.

He’s like that mom that panics whenever the kid goes missing for like one second. There’s a lot of dangerous things the kid could get into (see the tree incident) and if they get hurt, expect Horikawa to be at their side quicker than Hasebe. Hell he can beat Hasebe in speed and in over-protectiveness, dO NOT TEST THIS YOUNG MAN.

Is also that one mom that is at the kid’s recital, crying joyous tears of pride as they perform. Always has a camera on him to capture such a beautiful moment.

Yes Horikawa is the mom friend and he will not hesitate to become the mom to this saniwa. He will ensure that they go to bed on time and keep them healthy. Will wake them up on time and just be that one parent who is always a presence in their life, knowing when to back away but keeping in touch. Like having ya mum as ya best friend!!!

Driving Headcanons with the Touken Danshi (aka the Saniwa is fearing for their life)

Pairings: Touken Danshi x Reader (sorry I’m too lazy to type all of the pairings in this) uh... this can be taken as either platonic or romantic it’s up to you

Content Warnings: Potential car crashes/accidents and drunkenness because Jiroutachi, also allusion stripping because Sengo, threats of physical violence (road rage), swearing

A/N: Ok so I wrote this A WHILE AGO and I hate driving so I forced all the Touken Danshi mentioned here to drive with me so HAH, anyways drive safely and don’t be like these bozos! also omg this is over 6 months old jeez, also i might wanna do a beach episode fic/hcs with the touken danshi hehe

(essentially Saniwa usually drives them around whenever they need to but some of the swords got curious and wanted to try driving themselves)

- Saniwa (Reader): 

    - Already knows how to drive and is the one teaching them how to 

    - Please send help 

    - “Why did I think it would be a good idea to let these swords drive….” 

- Kasen:

    - Pretended not to be interested in driving but actually wants to learn 

    - Wants to drive elegantly and with poise, but has terrible road rage 

    - Fails the driving test and gave up 

    - “My driving will be as elegant and refined as me~”

    - 15 minutes later at someone who cut him off “YOU BASTARD ILL HAVE YOUR HEAD AND SERVE IT TO SANIWA-“ 

- Izuminokami: 

    - Actually didn’t want to learn how to drive at first but then got into a competition with Mutsunokami on who could get their driver’s license quicker

    - Izuminokami is ok at driving but due to the competition aspect, he fucking floors it a lot 

    - Passed after 2-3 tries 

    - “I’m not letting that son of a bitch Mutsunokami win!” 

- Mutsunokami: 

    - One of the first Touken Danshi to want to learn how to drive, is very interested in how the car works and often studies it 

    - You would think his enthusiasm would go overboard in this case but is actually a decent driver since he took the time to practice and learn about it

    - Passed on the first try, Izuminokami was pissed 

    - “So cool! Hey Saniwa can we look at this model please!” 

- Tomoegata: 

    - Didn’t really care about it until Saniwa mentioned that they needed help driving around the rest of the Touken Danshi

    - Tried their hardest to get good at driving and basically tried thinking of it as a horse, took a little bit, is able to drive pretty well 

    - Passed on their first try 

    - “I will drive so that I can relieve the Saniwa’s burden of driving” 

- Hasebe: 

    - Also did not care until Saniwa mentioned that they needed help and he immediately looked into driving lessons 

    - Ok he passed with flying colors on the written exam but on the practical exam, he has bad road rage 

    - It took like 3-5 tries for him to pass and would not concede until he got his license 

    - “If it’s for Saniwa, I’ll drive them everywhere!” 

- Kashuu: 

    - Could not give any less of a shit, “Saniwa already drives me around, why do I need to drive when I know they drive me out of love~” but then wants to show his appreciation to them seeing as how they’re constantly driving them around and it’s getting to them since they’re anxious about driving 

    - Honestly he was scared as hell when first driving, was constantly afraid of accidentally damaging his car and other cars, so he was anxious, drives much slower out of fear, took a while to get used to driving, poor baby needs a lot of reassurance

    - Passed on first try 

    - While driving on the freeway “Wahhhh this isn’t cute at all!!!” 

- Micchan (Shokudaikiri Mitsutada): 

    - Was also in the camp of wanting to drive and wanted to drive in a cool car (sorry Micchan we’re not that rich) and really studied hard with Mucchan on driving 

    - In the beginning, Acts like he knows what he’s doing, in reality he doesn’t know jack shit, takes a while but he gets the hang of it, is a pretty calm driver 

    - Passed on the 2nd try because he made some easy mistakes caused him to insta-fail 

    - “Hey Saniwa can we get this car, it’s so cool- what? It’s not in our budget?” 

- Jiroutachi: 

    - No just no, you know why 

    - Booze and driving do not mix, mostly just gets you or someone else to drive her around (taroutachi is the one who learns how to drive lol) 

    - Is passed out drunk in the backseat 

    - “Drive fasterrrr~ hehehehe” 

- Mikazuki: 

    - You would think that this old man wouldn’t be up to it but he’s actually interested in learning how to drive

    - However he drives like he’s in a Fast & Furious movie and Saniwa often fears for their life while in the car with him, yet while driving like in a car chase, he still keeps his calm demeanor 

    - Maybe it was to mess with Saniwa but somehow he passed on the first try 

    - He’s talking about how the earth turns to roads when it was once rivers “JIJI PLEASE WATCH THE ROAD” 

- Kogitsunemaru: 

    - Wanted to learn how to drive in order for Saniwa to get some rest from driving (in reality it’s so he can have more time with them and so they can brush his hair) 

    - Was really confused on what he was supposed to do but after a lot of lessons, he became confident in his driving 

    - That being said it took him like 3 tries in order to pass 

    - “Anything for Nushi-Sama, but which direction do I go in once I reverse?” 

- Sengo: 

    - Was also surprisingly interested in learning how to drive and was seen talking to the car??? (I’m in love with my car plays in the bg /j) 

    - Despite what others may think, he’s a natural at driving and you feel so safe in the car with him??? Saniwa could take a breather in the chaos with him that being said he often says he’ll strip in the car 

    - Passed on first try with flying colors 

    - “Fufufufufufufu, the car is obeying my commands, shall I strip? Why are you asking me to pull over?” 

- Azuki: 

    - Mostly wanted to learn how to drive so he could drive the Tantous to get sweets and to get groceries without having to get Saniwa to drive him every time 

    - Thankfully doesn’t have road rage but he’s very slow, like too slow man, like driving 40 mph on a freeway type of slow, Saniwa was about to push him out of the driver’s seat and floor it for him, he’s just concerned for the children’s safety 

    - Passed after 2-3 tries 

    - After Saniwa tells him to please be within the speed limit “Think of the children Saniwa, I don’t want to accidentally shake them with my driving.” You almost get pulled over for driving so slow, Azuki

- Hizamaru: 

    - Mostly just wanted to be able to drive his brother and you around, nothing else, so he put his heart into learning how to drive 

    - Did pretty well on the written portion but was too overly concerned on the road to focus, often Saniwa had to reassure him that he’s doing great 

    - Passed on his 2nd try, would have passed on the 1st try if he didn’t second guess himself 

    - “Maybe Anija will remember my name once I drive him everywhere!” Hizamaru baby….

- Otegine: 

    - Huh??? Why are you asking a spear that’s only good at piercing to drive? Was really against it until he saw how much ‘fun’ everyone else was having and decided to give it a go

    - His driving is choppy and abrupt to say the least, Saniwa’s head hit the windshield a couple of times over how abrupt his stops were, he apologized every time 

    - It took him like 3-5 tries to pass but hey he passed! 

    - Screams this while on the freeway “The one thing I’m good is piercing, not driving!” 

- Sanchoumou: 

    - Pretty chill about it and up to try anything so he was up to try his hand at driving 

    - Maybe a little bit too enthusiastic, almost crashed into another car but hey it’s fine…. For now, but is a quick learner and good listener so he should be fine… in theory 

    - It took him like 3-4 times but hey this bird can drive now! 

    - “Let’s see how fast this little bird goes!” You had to make him slow down before he got a ticket 

- Nagasone: 

    - Was a little interested and was up for anything so he tried his hand at it

    - Pretty chill driver that made sure to listen to your instructions, honestly he comes off as a natural until you snap out of it when he runs over a curb 

    - Passed on first try

    - “I guess this counterfeit is good at driving too!” 

- After all of that however Saniwa never wanted to teach driving ever again and passes out

Azuki Nagamitsu

Azuki is, by no doubt, a very caring young man. He is a dad figure of the citadel and this extends to you as well, his dear master. Even when you have first smithed him, he is there ready to bake you something sweet to enjoy or even make you tea. The perfect husband.

It honestly begins rather simple, perhaps the relationship between you two is already borderline on marriage anyway. You tend to his wounds and help him cook, he cooks for you and is also a shoulder for you to lean on. It’s a gentle circle of love.

Perhaps everyone around you assumes that you lot are already dating so when one of the lil tantous asks if you two are really a couple…he has to stop and think about it for like fifteen seconds before flushing, turning his face away as the realization settles into his mind. Are you two dating???????

 Azuki begins to test the waters when he realizes he has a crush on you. Yes he already makes your favorite treats a lot, but he will do it more just to see that smile on your lips. Sometimes his hands will brush against yours when he’s handing the article of yumminess to you and it sends tingles down his spine. He doesn’t really avoid you, more so along the lines of trying to get closer and closer, just to gauge your reactions to see if you like him back.

At this point, you’ll never confess and it’s up to some tantou or other Osafune swords to scream, “JUST KISS ALREADY” while you two are chatting and eating on some kinda snacky. That, or lock you two into a room and not let you two out until you confess. It’s probably midare, he is an agent of chaos

To be honest, Azuki’s confession is lowkey a marriage proposal.

“I want to always see you smile, master, the way your eyes light up whenever I cook for you, it’s the most beautiful thing. I…I understand if you do not want to return my feelings, but please take your time to answer me. I will wait for you.”

 Now how could you ever turn him down?

 Azuki is a gentleman at heart, calling you his sweetheart or other delicacy related petnames. He adores hand kisses, will do so as he hands you something sweet. Along with cheek kisses, holy cow does he love them.

Speaking of PDA, I feel like Azuki does it at his own pace. If you even try to initiate it, he dies on the inside and his cheeks are this super cute pink; but then he wraps his hand around yours and squeezes it and man does it feel gOOD. If he initiates it, it’s mostly hand kisses, hand holding, or a simple peck on the cheek. The other stuff comes later, the kids are watching!

 Speaking of the said tantous, they will find it cute that you do PDA but then there’s like others who are like: “EW GROSS” or “GET A ROOM” most likely Tsurumaru who screams the latter.

 That being said, sooner or later, the tantous will start calling you whatever parental title you prefer along with calling Azuki ‘dad’. Azuki isn’t crying, he swears.

 Breakfast in bed? Breakfast in bed. All day, every day. You are never going to go hungry with him around. Sure he’s more of a baker than a chef like Shokudaikiri or Kasen but he will learn from them without a doubt. Start making regular dentist appointments though, he’s gonna load you up with sugar and sweets.

He’s also the kind of person who has candy on his person – to either give out to the little ones or you if you need a snack! He also carries an aid-kit, he’s just super prepared.

Will love it if you two cook together! Maybe get into a little food fight? Who knows.

Azuki is somewhat of a morning person, around you when you two are sleeping together? Oh man, he turns into putty. Sometimes he won’t want to wake up because you are so warm! But he will wake up on his own in the end, he does want to make you something to eat after all!

 The relationship you two have is almost marriage material, what every couple aspires to attain. You begin the day together and end it together on your own terms. All you two have to do now is to tie the knot.

 Doudanuki Masakuni

·Doudanuki doesn’t really keep you at a distance per say? It’s respectable kind of distance, like a boss and an employee. He is a sword and he knows that he is here to be your blade, to cut down your enemies without hesitation. There is no doubt that he will protect you, and wants to be of use to you.

  In fact, he doesn’t even realize the feelings he has for you are romantic in nature. You come around to watch him train yes, but most likely he won’t even notice that you are present unless he stops or you make yourself known. Hell, sometimes he’ll train you as well! Swordplay, how to throw a punch, sparring, anything man! But as time goes on, he will look forward to your little lessons together. It brings a small smile to his face whenever you appear at the edge of the door of the sparring hall, ready to face him yet again.

   It has to be someone who has to tell him that he likes you. This will cause him to pause almost in horror at the thought, needing to go have some time to himself to think. That is when your daily lessons and training will stop for a while; he reschedules them or downright cancels them, making some kind of excuse. He doesn’t know how to deal with these emotions and the other swords had seen him pummel a punching bag until it was broken while he was in deep thought.

 It’s not that he doesn’t want the emotions; Doudanuki doesn’t know how to feel about it. He is a weapon, not a piece of art. He lives to serve and to kill, why would you want to have a relationship with him?

Again, it’s probably someone midare or tsurumaru who needs to help. The distance between you two is unbearable and thus, you two are locked in a room. Doudanuki offers to destroy the door but it’s a good time for you to talk to him. He panics on the inside as you two sit in silence for a while before trying to speak.

“Look…I don’t what to do with these…emotions. It hurts whenever I’m around you, like I never want to let you go. It’s just…how do I say it…what do the others call it? Love?”

Hug him, immediately. He will melt into your embrace.

When you two become an official couple, daily morning training sessions are still a common thing. Except this time, Doudanuki is a lil bit more affectionate than before. Yes he smiles more, and sure he does help position your body with touches – but it feels much more…hm, wholesome now that your feelings are known to each other. You almost melt into his touch and he has to jokingly remind you that you two are training, cuddles can come later.

 Doudanuki isn’t much into PDA, he feels a bit embarrassed by it. Again, he isn’t used to such affection and the least he will do in public is hold your hand in a loose grip – squeezing it every now and then – not because he doesn’t like you or anything, it’s because you two are going at a relationship at your own pace. In private? Cuddles are common. Again, loose grips in case you are uncomfy and want to move or body or something – but there are times when his bear hugs are just the thing you want and need.

He gives amazing massages and knows every inch of your muscles like the back of his hand – whether or not you two are truly intimate in a sexual sense. He knows how tense they can get so if he notices that you are hunched over your desk and your shoulders are tight, expect him to make himself known with a small, “I’m going to touch you, okay?” and then place his rough hands on your shoulders, smoothing out each and every kink you have.

If you massage him in turn, Doudanuki will turn into mush, leaning against you and almost purring.

 Big spoon? Little spoon? Who cares? As long as he can hold you, he’s happy.

 If he ever comes back all bloodied and bruised and you always take care of him with the most fond of care, there is a light blush to his cheeks as he leans into your touches. It’s super cute.

  Also super dense, cannot understand how flirting works but easy to make blush if you manage to do so!

  Over all, the relationship between you two is slow and patient, not at all in a rush to reach any kind of goal. It’s simple, awkward, full of ups and downs, but it’s a sweet one none the less.

 Yamabushi Kunihiro

 Bear hugs? Bear hugs. No matter if you two are dating or not, hugs all around. He will shout your name from across the yard and wave to you, and when he comes back from a sortie and isn’t too injured, he will find you and hug you! He’s just very affectionate!

Most often found in the mountains, probably running around and training but if you decide to come with him, he would be more than happy! He shows you around, tells you about nature and its gifts, and it’s more so of a hike than anything. Sure he may get ahead of you with his long ass legs and walk cycle, but he always waits for you to catch up. Or carry you if you ask. No hesitation there.

But when he starts falling for you, Yamabushi goes off to meditate on it a little bit. He will avoid you and ask that you do not disturb him during that time but it takes him at least a couple of hours before he settles on an answer. He meditates a lot whenever he has time to think, probably under a waterfall. In the end, he accepts those feelings of romance. He takes everything in stride after all.

After this meditation session, expect him to immediately go out to seek you and your attention. He may not confess right away, but simply become much more affectionate around you. But then again, he always is. Yamabushi’s hugs are softer, tighter, and he invites you out to the hikes much more often.

His confession will come outta nowhere, during a hike, enjoying the fresh air. Maybe it was the sunshine illuminating your form, but Yamabushi will suddenly speak.

“As gorgeous as ever, master! Kakaka! I wish I could forever capture your ethereal form!!”

 You would think that he would want a camera but no, after explaining what he meant and his confession is something oh so earnest. He spills out his love for you in such a happy nonchalant manner you would think he was joking. But the minute you share his feelings, his eyes light up like a puppy and he screams into the mountain air that he is the happiest man alive.

Yeah don’t think that the physical affection doesn’t go away. You’re gonna be drowning in it, fam. Yamabushi lives for PDA. Random hugs outta nowhere, picking you up and spinning you around when you least expect it, cheek kisses, lips kisses; all of the works!

  Cuddles are mandatory. That is it. You cannot escape cuddle time.

   Very much a morning person. If he wakes up before you, Yamabushi will do his best to keep quiet and not wake you up. Instead, he might just lay there, watching you and how the sunlight hits your face. It’s there when he just…melts. Yamabushi falls almost into a lull state, enjoying your warmth and presence.

 But if you two are indeed morning people, expect to be lying in bed for a while. Yamabushi cannot help but gaze upon your form. Then it’s time to get up and go into the mountains for training and hiking!

  He tends to laugh at his sorrows and that is all fine and dandy, but he will lean on you for troubles from time to time. He will also do the same for you, his advice is sweet and sometimes it may not help but he is trying his best!

  The relationship between you two is rather seamless, passing from friendship to romantic; the barrier between those words was already thin, and it just took a little bit to tear it down. It’s a comfortable, rambunctious, and overall, full of affection.
