ROCKABYE MUSICAL HEADCANONS (mainly post-canon but with some other stuff sprinkled in for flavor)

Bobby:

Until confirmed otherwise his real last name is Whateley (yes those whateleys why else do you think this story takes place in dunwich)

He has taken his motto to heart multiple times, changing his name and moving to multiple states, starting bands left and right in a bid to find the perfect people to wake Azathoth.

He really likes aquatic animals (squids, fish, and jellyfish especially)

Azathoth:

After doing the freaky friday sequel from hell and going down to Earth to explore, Azathoth has been traveling from country to country (very much illegally) to explore the wonders of the world

It's favorite out of the band is Adil I don't make the rules

It's penmanship is actually really terrible (surprisingly) so whenever it sends letters to the band to talk about it's adventures it takes like an hour and a half to try and figure out what's written

It wasn't originally aware of how the human body works and it took the band a solid ten minutes after arriving back on earth to explain to Azathoth that it needs to eat now (it tried to eat a rock before Adil simply decided to just have it over for dinner that night to show Az what humans ate)

Adil: (these are probably the most out there headcanons)

Once everyone got back to Earth after Bobby remade it again, Adil's arm and face was fixed (partially; the drawback is their right arm is weak as hell now) but his eyes kinda fucked up (think getting your eyes dilated by the optometrist but it never wears off and also your pupils and sclera are a color not on the visible spectrum of light now) so they wear a pair of snazzy sunnies

Adil got into gardening after the whole incident but all of the plants they grew (mainly lima beans cause those were easy) looked really good and grew big but were completely inedible and rotting on the inside

They watched Color Out of Space (2019) and found it unrealistic

Today’s obscure fandom is Rockabye!

Rockabye is a musical made by indie music artist Sushi Soucy. It’s about a band of queer and BIPOC young adults who get hired to write a lullaby for the eldritch god Azathoth.

Personal Rating - 10/10 🌟

This is a wonderful musical. The music and technical aspects were incredible, and I laughed multiple times. I would recommend to anyone who is queer and enjoys musicals.

hey, you! are you a bipoc and/or queer theater kid looking for a new musical to watch? well, do i have the show for you!

rockabye is a sci-fi horror comedy written by maxwell soucy aka. sushi soucy (@thenames-sushi). if you don't recognize that name that's the person who made songs like i deserve to bleed, average, a rock in god's shoe, and more.

it's about teenage band who is hired to write a lullaby for azathoth, one of the many monsters created by h.p. lovecraft, and it has been one of my favorite plays since i watched it last week.

the cast has great chemistry, it has a lot of representation, the songs are really good, and it has a lot of love put into it! check it out when you have the time!

I’m gonna watch Rockabye (as per @foxtail-1311’s recommendation) and document my thoughts. I know it’s Lovecraft related with a cool premise and Fox loved it so much its brain zworped some of the characters, so, I’ve got a good feeling about this!

- Eyo! We got actual subtitles and not just the autogenerated ones! Already impressed.

- “Ladies, gentlemen, etcetera!” Green flag! All the green flags!

- This seems like a small production—decreases the chance of being a cash-grab. Lovely! I like the lighting.

- The starting person with the robe seems really cool! Are they Sushi Soucy?

- My man Bobby has clearly never been stung by a jellyfish.

- It’s odd that they didn’t make a piano prop, but I guess it makes seeing the actors easier.
