Chilchuck hasn’t held his daughters in so long.  Now, it’s his biggest regret. No amount of crying would bring them back. No amount of time would make this pain bearable. A squelch brings him to his senses. At first, he thinks it’s whatever did this to his girls, coming back for more or making sure it finished the job. He’s at the ready, fumbling for the knife he keeps on his hip. But his eyes snap upwards to find Laios, wide eyed and horrified, standing a distance away.  “Chil…” the tall-man gets out. It falls on deaf ears.
