High school students throughout the state of New York have organized a protest later this month against transgender athletes in girls' sports.
The Coalition to Protect Kids has organized a walkout, dubbed "Walk Off for Fairness Day," on Oct. 24 that has received the support of conservative leaders.
"It’s hard to believe we’re even having the conversation that girls sports would be for anyone other than girls," Conservative Party chairman Gerry Kassar said via the New York Post. "We fully support ‘Walk Off for Fairness Day’ in New York, reminding young people that there is safety in numbers. Girls Sports must remain Girls Sports, and there should be nothing controversial in that statement."
"Girls are being systematically canceled in this state, and ‘Walk Off for Fairness Day’ will give them a safe opportunity to make their voices heard," said Coalition to Protect Kids-NY spokeswoman Ayesha Kreutz. "So many of these young women are afraid of speaking out, so they’re forced to watch as 50 years of female athletic progress gets washed away by destructive ideologues. Girls are not second-class citizens, so why are they being treated that way?"
"It’s not right for boys to compete against girls in sports. It’s a huge disadvantage for girls," said Hannah Pompeo, a 16-year soccer player at Eden High School near Buffalo, who is participating in the "Walk Off for Fairness Day."
"I don’t think it’s right for men to be in our safe spaces. We worked hard for places on our teams," added Millie McCormack, a dancer at Somers High School. "Boys have physical advantages we don’t have."
The protest will occur roughly two weeks before Election Day, when New Yorkers will be able to vote on extra protections in the state's constitution.
Proposition 1, the "Equal Rights Amendment," seeks to not discriminate based on "race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, creed, religion, or sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, reproductive healthcare and autonomy." While athletics is not strictly cited, those against the proposition say the writing is on the wall.
Nassau County lawmakers in June voted to pass a bill that would prohibit transgender athletes from competing in girls' and women’s sports at county-run facilities.
The measure, which covers more than 100 sites just outside New York City, requires any teams, leagues or organizations that seek a permit from the county’s parks and recreation department to "expressly designate" whether they are for male, female or coed athletes.
Any female teams or leagues will be denied permits if they allow transgender athletes to participate.

Lore Dump - first album (Part One)
I felt like projecting the thought process behind some of my work, so I created tumblr just so I can write it all out. I've been asked why I chose to do music in Portuguese instead of english as portuguese isn't my first language and I've only been in this country for 7 years, but in all truth, it's because I just don't hear enough about the Portuguese hyperpop scene, and it would be nice to... well... have that around.
Someone I used to know once said "the portuguese music market sucks" so I said "bet" and either made it better or worse and I can't tell yet.
I get a lot of people giving my music different comparisons to other artists, and I think its so funny and enjoyable to hear what they're reminded of while listening to my music, especially because they usually never hit the mark on what any of my inspirations for my music were irl, so I wanted to give a little list of my inspirations, behind the scenes, and interpolations of each song.
1 - "DESTRESSA"
I wanted to start off my discog with something that would really portray the albums theme of exploring ego, with a heavily distorted jersey beat and outlandishly confrontational lyrics. The word "destressa" was probably made up by me because I just tried to look it up in Priberam and it doesn't seem to exist in the portuguese language. But I initially intended the word "destressa" to mean de-stress, since this is a song that expends a LOT of energy.
Interpolations: the first two or three lines of the lyrical flow of "PMS" by VZE and Ayesha Erotica (unreleased)
2 - "RÂNCIDO"
This one, truly, is likely the only one that had no inspirations. The beat was produced and the lyrics written in a night. It was late and I was in another country for a funeral, so I was generally deprived of much peace and was up late. Then I accidentally made the most 2009 club sounding-ass europop beat, and I was like, oh okay. Then I distorted it. Then I was like "this beat is disgusting... lets make it about having sex with someone you hate".
Interpolations: The horn sample is half a second from one of my other songs, "ADVENTURA", at around 4:29. The fact that no listener has noticed that yet is such a fun little secret for me. "ADVENTURA" is a satirical homoerotic love ballad in dedication to André Ventura, a right-wing politician in Portugal that often rallies against trans and immigrant rights, both communities I am a part of. In that sense, râncido carries a part of that theme of attraction to someone you shouldn't, but to a much sexier extent.
3 - "MAXILAR DE CÃO"
The story behind this one is truthfully dedicated to three different people. Don't worry, it wasn't just one person who said and did all of this towards me, it was evenly spread among three individuals. Possibly one of the most ego-driven, rude, pretentious songs of the album.
Interpolations: The general production style of Mietze Conte, an Australian artist I personally admire from the electro-dance scene, and how they lay down their kicks and 808's.
4 - "JULGAMENTO"
My strength in this song was definitely my belting voice echoing in the background. The beat switch was an improvised endeavour because I was thinking about the continuity of the album and realized there wasn't much of a stylistic transition between this one and the song right after. In the final verse, I'm warning about the judgement of a "Fazeiro faço" (alter ego), saying he's "dois tracks down", meaning he's "two tracks away". In the album, the song "FAZEIRO FAÇO" is, infact, two songs down.
Interpolations: The cymbal patterns are based on a sound I heard once in a distant memory when I was like 7 and hearing the runway music of one of the barbie movies. The leads' chord progression was pure luck. I can't lie, I didn't know how to produce. But anyways.
5 - "DESPEITO"
Another one of the most ego-driven, rude, and pretentious songs of the album.
Interpolations: The chord progression of the overdriven bass guitar is following that of the 808's in Gunna's "collage", the vocal inflections of the "não vais tirar o que é meu" chorus mimes those from Flo Millia "FLO MILLI", and the flow of the third verse follows the same rythm as that in "Alien Superstar" by Beyoncé.
