lol this is so true. Even I was lamenting modern dating for a lonnngg time.. And still do. But I realize the same shit has been going on forever. And a good rewatch of He's Just Not That Into You solidified that. Pre-dating app dating drama, being led on, ghosted, etc. before the terms existed. It was all the same stuff back then and it continues today. And we didn't have the term situationships.. we just called them shitty relationships.

I guess the dating app age has just brought on a new level of loneliness because you have thousands of people in the palm of your hand, but there's nobody out there.

So many people want to blame 'hook up' culture and modern dating when it is excruciatingly clear that relationships have always been convoluted messes, and romantic love dies. Relationships weren't 'better back in the day' and people didn't 'communicate more', people were both married a long time and miserable. Sorry there's no golden decade to return to where relationships were 100% good.
