hghello i am in fact here to share species hcs as per my reblog tags. idk why im talking like a business man im very tired. anyways. :3c basic bitch answer that sky is a demigod, or. whatever the fuck being herobrine's kid makes you. (he's not quite a god in my lore so its odd but i think sky would just say demigod if you asked them outright). jerome is a bear hybrid and specifically that of a kodiak bear :) big brown bastards. seto is an enderborn mage and if i elaborate on any of this this entire ask is just going to turn into an infodump about my enderian / enderborn worldbuilding . husky is a merling, specifically an axolotl and even MORE specifically a lavender axolotl. jason is a starborne, specifically the "spirit" of a yellow supergiant !. ok and now ic an talk abt the Weird overly specific ones yaayyy. ssundees an angel and im going to be entirely honest its mostly just because he kind of looks like skizzleman in my head. mitch is a sentient (giant) ball-jointed doll. :) he has a voicebox in his chest and uses things like grip aids since he doesnt have a lot of range of motion except things like elbows / knees / etc. he doesnt know it but he was created as a replica / essentially replacement for his creator's *actual* kid (died). jerome is the only one who DOES know this bc he found mitch after his 'dad' died and found a journal. goldsolace is TECHNICALLY a human, but with a twist. he's the champion of a god named aurily, which basically means that he is (that) god's favourite and was "chosen" by aurily to go out and do his bidding. he gained slight prophecy powers from this, but mostly through the sense of communicating with aurily (who, among other things, is a god of prophecy). also he was raised from birth in aurily's cult and was "championed" by the time he was 12 heart emoji. (i have put way too much thought into solace's backstory and the religion behind it)

furries have been on my brain so here are some shogun steel characters and what i think their species would be and why 1. Zyro is a black jaguar!! you are right axel he is pretty kitty but i feel like his backstory and personality fit a wildcat more. i like to imagine he dyes his fur orange to help him stand out cause he blends in with the dark so well haha

2. Maru is a hamster!! this one is mostly based on vibes teehee. she's just a little guy. pick her up and hold her in your palm 💞💞💞 i could also see her being a bear cub tbh, but i just like the image of her stuffing her face and her cheeks get all large as a hamster hehe.

3. Shinobu is an axolotl!! it's literally cause of his antenna hair i gotta be honest with you lol. but besides that i just feel like the colors of axolotls suit him and it's fuel for your mexican hcs cause axolotls are native to mexico 👀 (ive also imagined in this universe where instead of breaking his bones in canon he loses limbs and has to be in the hospital so he can safely regenerate them akdsjfasdfk)

4. the Unabara brothers are sea otters!! i mentioned before that kite's hair being urchin shaped reminds me of how sea otters eat urchins so i found it fitting. plus it fits with the aquatic theme they have going on. in japanese mythology otters were tricksters like kitsune and tanuki and that fits eight to a T. otters also hold hands to stay together in the water and that's soooo unabara-coded <333

5. Ren is a hunting dog, most likely a spaniel. not too certain on the specific breed yet but i like the brittany spaniel!! she just has that dog energy and i feel like her being a hunting dog can represent her rivalries with other bladers, like taka and genjuro (ik she barely has any in canon but let me dream okay 😔)

6. Taka is a leopard or spiny gecko!! dont really have a proper explanation for this one it's mostly just vibes as well, but i feel like you could compare him being a small lizard that easily "sticks" to people and is very loyal to sakyo, who in a way is like a direct opposite to him.

7. speaking of, Sakyo is a maned wolf/dragon hybrid!!! you mentioning sakyo as a maned wolf lit a lightbulb in my head how does it feel to be so right. i feel like you can really dive into his identity as a descendant of the dragon clan with him visibly being half-dragon too yk. just in general it fits his supposedly menacing aura yet when you get to know him he's just silly and kind of a loser lmao. him and zyro's rivalry is so perfect too cause jaguars are the maned wolf's biggest predator! (plus imagining victoria as a really tall maned wolf 😳 like heeeey girl /j)

8. Kira is a wolfdog!! specifically a high content wolfdog (he has more wolf dna than dog). i chose wolfdog specifically because him being part dog really emphasizes his upbringing in dna to me, and how he still genuinely yearns for connection and a home. i like to think he just calls himself a wolf and ignores his dog heritage cause he doesnt want to seem weak or subservient, and eventually he learns to be proud of his dog attributes

i have more specifically for the rest of the dna bladers but i think ive written enough. hope you enjoy axel!!!!

What I like about designing the eggs is that while in canon they're supposed to be dragons eggs, we also do not have the confirmation that's all they are if at all, since the feds are not above lying and they do not look like normal dragon eggs, so in short they may be dragons hybrids but likely also something else. Kinda like in Jurassic park how they used the DNA of other creatures to replicate the eggs... I do think they are like that, cus they keep saying, oh I'm a dragon spawn. And we know that for chunsik and mostly all the eggs but NOT for the egg island ones. Which is also why I think everyone has more designs for them, mainly Pepito being an axolotl (which I HC TOO YEAHHH WIN).

I also like the idea that the eggs are on a certain level, shape shifters. They changed to look like their parents, to bond or like a changeling. Then we have the canon thing that some are genuinely the parents' spawn. Okay!

For Dapper to look similar to Bad, then Pomme too as she accepts him as her dad. Also chay looking like a mix of Pissa. Tallulah, too I think she's slowly shifting to the death Family a ND away from qwilbur We of course have others who don't look like their parents, like Richas or Pepito, but who share traits and physical disabilities (prosthetic leg, the same humor).

Em, wanting to become a demon like her mom's.

I know I know it's kids trying to fit in with their parents... But it's so endearing to see how that love changes them

Been brainstorming a bit more about what animals to base all the different Eggs' dragon designs after, 'cause I really like how Tallulah and Chayanne's looked in my previous drawing :]

Overall they will all mostly look like dragons, but small things like face structure, body structure, tail, pattern, if they have fur or scales or something else, and/or if they have horns, ears and things like that will be determined by the animals that's gonna be mixed into their design.

For example: Tallulah's got a mix of farm animals (mostly cows tho') into her overall design, and has the pattern (and maybe the back fin and/or tail, idk yet) of an orca, which will hopefully be more noticeable if I do a full body drawing of her lol. Meanwhile, Chayanne's a mix of a goat (the horns + I'm thinking of giving him the tail of a goat qvq it's very cute), and will also be either a mix of both a duck and a crow, or just crow. Unsure yet if I want the duck floatie to be just an accessory, or if I should maybe make his hind legs have webbed feet like a duck while his front legs have crow feet.

For the other Eggs, I still don't have everyone set in stone. Like:

For Dapper, I only got black cat on the list, but I miiight add bat too. Idk yet.

With Ramon, I do want him to have some alligator features, but idk what else. A small part of me wants to add catfish just 'cause it would be funny lol. Or I could go with something "octopus-esque" 'cause of the meature (I know the mob doesn't have egg legs, but it still reminds me of an octopus ajkshfaksh) and let Ramon have either 4 front legs or 4 hind legs, and then two tails instead of one so he has 8 limbs all together. But idk.

As for Leo, she definitely gonna have some shark features (the back fin, probably the tail, and maybe the pattern of a leopard shark? idk yet), and more than likely will have some bull terrier features (mostly the face, ears, and maybe the pattern if I don't go for the leopard shark pattern).

Richarlyson I know I want to have highland bull mixed into his design, 'cause of the mushroom helmet + those bull breeds got so much fur it covers their eyes, which just seemed fitting due to most of people's design of Richas :] As for what else to mix in... idk o(-(

Pomme I'm struggling a bit to figure out. I have put down butterfly, so she could have antennas + her butterfly wings (or at least something like her butterfly wings, idk yet if I'm gonna give any of them full-ish wings), but idk what else to mix her with orz

I knew for Sunny, I wanted at least an animal that represented the sun + give her the pattern of a tiger ('cause of her cat hat she wore). And one animal that represented the sun was a ram, which I immediately chose since Tubbo is the one spending most of the time with her, and I still kinda HC him as either a goat or a ram hybrid.

Besides having the pattern and maybe some features of a calico cat, idk what other animal to mix into Empanada's design o(-( Ayayay

Pepito seemed pretty set in stone for me. Having some mix of axolotl, maybe a hint of duck, and more than likely the pattern of some sort of spider into his dragon design :]

It will probably be a while before I even try to attempt drawing these designs, but hey, gives me plenty of time to find out what other animals to mix into the design of some of these Eggs uvu

Also, I probably won't write down any design ideas for Tilin, Juana Flippa, Trump and Bobby since I just don't know enough about them orz I sadly started watching the QSMP quite a few months after those four passed.

Widely accepted Hermitcraft Headcanons I’ve discovered since joining the fanbase last winter:

(DISCLOSURE: I’m currently 80% of the way through S7 and I’ve seen Grian’s POV of S6 (and his Evo series) but other that than I haven’t watched other HC seasons. All my knowledge of these comes from what I’ve seen, and Tumblr.)

- Grian has wings. This is an indisputable fact. Sometimes they’re white/gray like elytra, sometimes they’re like parrot wings (S7 Pesky Bird~), but they’re always there somehow. Often he’s also portrayed as a bird hybrid, since the concept of Mob Hybrid Hermits is an exceedingly popular one.

- (Less common addition: Grian is/was a Watcher, something that carried over from his Evo SMP series, though this headcanon is hit or miss depending on who’s drawing/writing him.)

- Mumbo is one of the few totally human people on the server, and half the art I see draws him with redstone dust stains on his clothes. (Also, the occasional headcanon of radiation burns accompanies this.)

- (I’ve also seen Mumbo portrayed as an enderman hybrid due to his height.)

- Stress is technically human, but she’s also a witch. Seen this one a lot, perhaps in relation to her potion shop in S7? Like I said that’s the only season I’ve seen in depth (beyond Grian’s S6) so that’s my only connection lol. But I love it! You need a healer? Go to Stress.

- Doc - of course - is half creeper, which may or may not have a hand in why he’s often morally gray in most HC plots. I often see him drawn as a centaur of sorts as well, with four legs like a creeper has. (Not sure if I love or hate this concept lmao)

- Doc is also part goat, a la S7. Hence the horns we see in like every drawing of him. Amazing.

- Tango is often portrayed as a blaze hybrid, though I’ve also seen him drawn as a kind of demon. The red eyes and fiery color palette work well for both options, though I’m partial to the blaze theory.

- Impulse - though usually drawn as a normal dude - is also sometimes seen as a sort of friendly demon. Not sure if that’s to do with the nickname Tango uses for him - “Impy” - or just the fact that the fans seem to like the idea of Hermits with wings. Though the fact that his first appearance on Hermitcraft involved the other members summoning him in with a summoning circle most definitely adds to this headcanon.

- Zed is a sheep hybrid. I’ve got no friggin’ clue where this one’s from but I’m here for it anyway. (EDIT: I’ve been told it probably has a lot to do with a game show he made during Season 5 called “Is That Sheep Looking At Me?” which sound hysterical and I can’t wait to see what that’s about)

- Scar is a vex hybrid, which is also part of why he was able to use “magic” at the start of Season 7. As far as I know this comes from ConVex, which was a S5 thing, but that’s all I know on the subject.

- (Cub, too, is sometimes a vex hybrid, due to being the other half of ConVex. Though this depends on the artist.)

- Xisuma is a Voidwalker, though I’m not entirely sure what that is. Apparently this is different than a Watcher and (obviously) has something to do with the void, but while I’ve seen this concept in passing in fics, I don’t have a basis for where this came from outside of Xisuma’s username, Xisumavoid. (If anyone can explain this to me I’d appreciate it! It sounds cool even if I don’t fully understand it!)

- I’ve ALSO seen the “Xisuma is a shapeshifter” or “Xisuma is a bee/axolotl/strider hybrid” because of how many different mob-based skins he’s used over the past few seasons.

- Ren is a werewolf or a canine-based shapeshifter. Friggin’ love this idea actually, and I’m never sure if this is solely based on Ren’s name or on something he did in a season I haven’t seen yet, because knowing him he’d totally have a wolfman character somewhere in his repertoire.

- Bdubs - and this is a headcanon I discovered more recently and it makes sense - is a phantom hybrid. He’s so finicky about sleep, and if he’s kept awake during the night he gets in a pissy mood because of it. I don’t see him drawn with any features from phantoms often, but behavioral habits show up in fics a lot. (Though a part of me finds this one funny because it also feels a bit backwards - phantoms are AWAKE at night and Bdubs abhors night time - but hey, maybe phantoms are just trying to kill you because you’re keeping them awake with your late night thoughts lol.)

- xB is often some kind of water creature hybrid, like a guardian or (occasionally, more recently) a glow squid. Super cool concept in my opinion.

- Joe may look human, but he is decidedly not normal. Either he’s some sort of humanoid cryptid, he has undefined psychic abilities, or he’s just in tune with the universe in a way most people aren’t.

While getting used to walking around land in your fishbowl helmet, you notice a rusty robot that...kinda looks like the man who took you home?

You got curious, but a bit scared since it reeked of the “scary boom” all over.

Was this some kind of war machine? Did humans make these to protect themselves against dangerous hybrids???

You cautiously touch its shoulder and it suddenly springs to life, speaking in a robotic/distorted voice much like Wilford’s, only uttering “potato salad”.

It makes you yelp and run back to your tank.

“Who screamed?????” Wilford runs in with his gun, but realizes what happened and just laughs. “Ohhhh I see you’ve met my automaton!”

You’re halfway in the tank as you stare at him “....your what?”

“My robot for interviews! He looks just like me, no?” Wilford pats its shoulder.

"Interviews? It’s not for..war or anything? No weapons?”

“Nonsense! He’s the safest robot around! I mean..he’s seen better days and maaaay have one or two little...bugs, but he’s a great pal! Care for an interview, [y/n]? Surely he’s dying to hear about your stories as a hybrid!”

“..I’ll pass.” You just quietly slip back into your tank, taking off the fishbowl.

Even through the glass, you feel like it’s staring at you.

“Pssh, yeah. As if you measly humans stand a chance against hundreds of our stingers.” You flick your tail and leave his room, though not before offering him another drink.

He’d honestly rather dehydrate than accept he’s your prisoner, but then again you’d force him to drink it anyways so...what choice does he have? None.

Since Oli and Joey are now officially seablings I can share my hcs for both of them + some others! (mostly Oli tho cuz I love the freaky fish man)

Oli had babysat for Joey a couple of times, he usually brings Seapeekay with him, bc if Callum is going to get married to Oli, he should at least meet his future nieces and nephews.

Oli once ruled his cousin's empire when she was getting married to a king from another empire, Oli was surprisingly good at ruling an empire and got along with his cousin-in-law too!

Joey always felt drawn to a jungle whenever he encounters one, wishing to go further into it, he never does tho. Getting out of a jungle is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Oli was never insecure about being an atling until he went out of the ocean and started to feel self-conscious about being a smelly fish. This insecurity of what he smelled like later grew to just him being an axolotl hybrid.

Both of the seablings are terrible at writing, their webbed hands make holding pens and pencils a challenge, not to mention their use to using echolocation (kinda like a dolphin) to communicate, so trying to learn to write is also a hassle.

Empires Thoughts

So, random world building thoughts from Harley

fWhip, along with setting up contact lenses with a different texture pack for certain things, he also coded it so when the Empires members join the server, they forget their other worlds. He also coded it so members could change their species (eg. my headcanon of Lizzie being an elemental elf + wither hybrid normally to axolotl/ocean blessed in Empires)

They knew they wanted to try and do some lore in this new server, so they figured it'd be good to wipe their slate clean with no memory beside their backstories.

Most people end up staying on Empires with their filler memories and newer forms, but those with other responsiblities (like Pearl and Gem with Hermitcraft and Pixl with HC Recap) have a set time where they'll be dropped out of Empires into the Hub with their original form and memories so they can continue with their obligations.

Scott has no choice on when he leaves the server whenever he enters his MCC Organizer related trance and giving invitations to MCC, so he doesn't have to set a timer or anything because Noxite/MCC's spirit takes him over until he's finished.

And with their past memories, they occasionally show up in dreams and nightmares, like Flower Husbands, the Red Funeral, Joel and Lizzie's original wedding, and more.

I made some characters for bbau awhile back (with some input from @rose-icosahedron and I just realized I never made an actual post about them so here it is :)

First up is Sunset. She’s the child of Lizzie and Cleo, made through cloning some time during Last Life. Her moms had a messy breakup (I feel like in LL burning down someone’s base is kinda the equivalent of keying someone’s car) so she spent her childhood bouncing between Empires and Hermitcraft. Since e!Lizzie is her mom, that makes her the crown princess of the Ocean Empire (I did specifically imagine her as Lizzie’s oldest child, sorry if this conflicts w anyone else), so she spent more time there. Sunset is cheerful, curious, and loves nature. She spends a lot of time hiking. She’s self-confident and independent, which is great, but can also be overly stubborn and unwilling to compromise. Sunset can enjoy socializing but values her alone time. If she does not get enough hours of alone a day she will bite. 

Family relationships-wise, she doesn’t always get along with Lizzie. She feels uninterested in the responsibilities of ruling the Ocean Empire, feels pressure to do so, and feels like Lizzie doesn’t make enough effort to connect with her over her own interests. At the end of the day they do still have a loving mother-daughter relationship though, I think they’d mostly resolve their issues around when Sunset is 18. Since Joel and Lizzie are married, he also raised her so she considers him a father. Gee, Sunset, why do you get three parents? And also Jeremy too but. Not much to say there. They banter a lot. Sunset is always really excited to get to see Cleo, since she doesn’t get to see her other mom as much due to the different servers. Sometimes she feels a bit jealous of Cleo’s other kids. When Sunset was 11 Cleo got her a hat shaped like a spider and she wore it nonstop for months. 

Her name comes from her hair, it’s literally red, with some shades of orange and pink. She has some of Lizzie’s axolotl features. Small arm fins, gills, and a tail. She was more axolotl-y when she was younger, she also had leg fins and webbed feet, but those disappeared by the time she was a teenager. Sorry Sunset. Puberty sucks, and you are only half-axolotl hybrid. Sunset is 5′6, average height, but considering that Lizzie is 10 feet and I hc Cleo as like, 6′something, she feels extremely cheated. Understandable lol. She likes practical, comfortable clothing, bright colors, and has a large collection of silly barrettes to keep her hair out of her eyes. 

She has trouble connecting to people, because she doesn’t quite understand socializing, but can get very excited and loyal around people she likes. And it isn’t too hard to get her to like you. Just ask about her interests and respect her alone time when she needs it. I have some thoughts on what she’d be like older/younger but mostly I imagine her in her preteen/early teens ish.

I have some ideas for how she’d get along with her friends/siblings but this is already long enough. If anyone wants to talk to me about making our ocs be friends, please do! (this feels like I’m setting up a playdate /pos). 

My other fanchild is Jeremy. I will admit I do not know as much about him. He was also created during Last Life, and is the child of Joel and Scar. They weren’t dating or anything, the magic of Magical Mountain just kind of manifested their child one day. This kind of thing just happens sometimes. (Rose and I agree that Jeremy and Madrone should in fact be friends). Joel picked the name. Joel and Scar weren’t expecting this, they just looked at the baby with vague confusion, so Scar wasn’t going to argue when Joel suggested Jeremy. It’s a good name! Scar did not, in fact, know at the time that Joel had previously created a religion around the name, but he thought it was funny when he found out. Joel was pleased about this. Lizzie wouldn’t let him name a child Jeremy. 

Jeremy is a cryptid. He likes being unsettling on purpose. It’s his main hobby. He doesn’t need to blink and he just stands there staring at people. He has a large scar on his leg from when he was reading in a tree and fell out of the tree. His favorite genres of book are murder mystery and romance novels. Jeremy likes to test people at first. If you do find him weird? Weak. He does not want to be around you anyway. No pity (he gets it from his dads). 

He has unnaturally-bright-looking green eyes that glow in the dark (he can’t actually see in the dark but he refuses to admit this), perpetually-messy hair that he dyes it a new color every month (naturally light brown), and a lanky 6′4 frame. Sometimes people think Jeremy is older than his actual age (early teens ish) because of how tall he is. He will not admit his actual age when people guess. He just makes them guess and then responds by shrugging.

Jeremy’s somewhat secretive, but not because he has any dark secrets to hide, he just thinks it’s funny. He’s right. Often he lies, for the same reason. He is more open with friends though.

You went for a walk, your tail swaying, humming happily. Until of course the Wolf clan decided to pick on the poor salamander you. 

You returned only a few bruises and a bite on your tail, along with a few scratches. “M’ back!” You hummed and crawled into the tank shoving off the helmet and sat in your cave. You held your tail and just let the blood stop on it’s own like the many times before that bigger creatures decided that a Axolotl would be fun. 

Or humans. Humans always batted you around like toys. Wilford walked out and noticed the red streams from the cave. He knocked on the glass and you erupted the streams hanging off of you. You couldn’t hear well from under the water and pointed up. 

You swam up seeing him already on the edge with rolled up pants. “Hi!” You hummed kicking your legs and treading water. “How’d all this happen?” You looked at the claw marks and the bite in your tail. “Ah just some Wolven Clan! Nothing new I’ll heal I’m a giffy and be out of the waters in no time!” You smiled as he rested a hand on your chin. “Oh. Well I think Google is Calling me. I’ve gotta go.” You hummed and swam back under water.

You let him go. He got too overbearing and you didn’t want to get attached. And he said “haha too late.” And now he just stays with you and constantly just picks at things. “Bugs are so gross.” He scoffed as you groaned. “This again??!” He stuck out his tongue. 

“I’m going for a walk. Don’t get caught.” Your clan already knew him since he sucked at sneaking in. Your venom doesn’t kill automatically it takes two stings for that. One sting knocked the prey/attacker out. You walked out and ended up at Desert Bird territory. 

“Fuck off feather brains.” You scoffed at the border. “This is free land Buggie boo!” The roadrunner chirped trying to nip at your tail or pinchers. “And? I said fuck off.” You hissed until you felt arms hold you up. “That’s rude!” An desert owl laughed as you kicked and flung your tail desperately around. 

You hated to talk about what happened next. But you wobbled back into The Clan House, the healers patched you up and of course Actor walked in while they stung you to help you sleep while they put on the bandages. 

“WHAT THE HELL?!” You sat down as he squawked on in your den. “It’s not my fault-“ “WELL NO SHIT!! It’s free land over there! Isn’t that punishable?! Why didn’t you say shit?!” You scoffed. “Because it’ll be extra. It’s how things are.” You hummed as he just sat on your lap. 

“Then your on house arrest. Your not leaving until 1) you heal or 2) you go tell them what happened!” 

Let’s say your ego didn’t let you leave the house- maybe it was kinda cute how he fell asleep in the first hour of “Night Watch.”

You preferred not to say anything. But it went south when you tried entering the human tribe to trade your soups and fresh baked breads. 

You limped inside and immediately got caught by your housemate who stayed with you instead of his original home of The Feline Clan. Dark sat you on the table and started wrapping up your legs and arms. “What did I say about human “Colonies” ?! You could’ve been killed.” He hissed. 

“It’s fine just a few rocks, and a gun, annnnnd I think a few knives?” You sighed as your vision blurred. “I’ma need you to stay awake for this one.” He sighed and pulled out the thorns. As you hissed “HM! Really wanna tear the bandage off?” He finished the last of the thorns and wrapped up your legs and arms. 

“Thank you dear.” You smiled as he gently carried you to the bed. “I wouldn’t have too if you just stayed home.” He hummed back as he laid you down and changed into comfy clothes and walked out as you changed. He returned shortly after you laid back down and curled into your chest.

“Sleep. You’ll heal faster.” He mumbled as you nodded and started drifting off. All of that past adrenaline escaping your body and replaced itself with exhaust. “Night Darkie.” You hummed and he just sighed. “Good night human.”
