#3: What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

Tough one! I'm proud of different fics for different reasons but if I had to narrow it down, it would have to be either "The Remarkable People Initiative & The Zugzwang Dilemma" or "No Return, No Return". The first challenged me with its length and scope, while the latter felt like my first real adventure as a writer where I properly leaned into the things I liked to read and write instead of what I was already familiar with.

#20: Which work of yours have you reread the most?

It's "'Cause It's You and Me (and All of the People)" for a very banal reason--I do a bi-monthly check-in to ensure all the GIFs are working. More trouble than it's worth, that fic. Humbug & whatnot. A more legitimate answer would be "I Can See Clearly Now The Blindfold's Gone" because it tickles my id.

TOUGHEST question. So I'll do a funny fav and serious fav.

Funny fav from "We Tell You, There's No Substitute!":

Though it may seem mundane, I was really happy about getting one of favourite words ("asterisms") into a fic. Call this my dork diary & whatnot.

that fic, as mentioned in the notes, came about as an indirect result of my tragically unfinished (but so close!) longfic, tangle of thorns: i was knocking TOT out in record time—total creative flow state—working the smut factor up to a big, frothy mess all set to boil over into a dramatic climax -- when i made the critical mistake (or happy accident, depending on how you look at it) of wandering over to pornhub for a little light research into BDSM (for staging purposes!), only to find a video of a very pretty blond guy getting worked over by a brunet leather daddy with a goatee. my stony brain went into overdrive, and i thought i'd play with the idea in a little side fic just to get it out of my system -- which was how NIKA became a whole thing 😅

it totally derailed tangle of thorns, unfortunately, but the result remains a fan favorite that i can't deny was worth it! someday i really want to write that sequel i've teased in the comments, but in the meantime my MTH 2023 fill for @bulkyphrase is shaping up to have some similar action going on (though this time loki is the dom to a mind-controlled, subservient himbo steve, while tony frets from the sidelines 😈)

The thing is, Tony’s got one of the best minds of the century, and he knows it doesn’t make any sense for him to have been having weirdly vivid dreams wherein Captain America dies, when he hadn’t even known what Captain America looked like. He must, he tells himself, have watched an old propaganda film, or seen a photo his dad had, and his subconscious must have latched on.

Tony Stark has been dreaming about Steve Rogers all his life. It changes things.

my thoughts: hindsight being 20/20 and letting Tony change the way he interacts with Steve was so well done.

my thoughts: idk, y’all, it was just super fun, the interaction of noir!Tony with the Avengers is fantastic.
