#3: What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

Tough one! I'm proud of different fics for different reasons but if I had to narrow it down, it would have to be either "The Remarkable People Initiative & The Zugzwang Dilemma" or "No Return, No Return". The first challenged me with its length and scope, while the latter felt like my first real adventure as a writer where I properly leaned into the things I liked to read and write instead of what I was already familiar with.

#20: Which work of yours have you reread the most?

It's "'Cause It's You and Me (and All of the People)" for a very banal reason--I do a bi-monthly check-in to ensure all the GIFs are working. More trouble than it's worth, that fic. Humbug & whatnot. A more legitimate answer would be "I Can See Clearly Now The Blindfold's Gone" because it tickles my id.

#29: Favourite line/passage you wrote this year?

TOUGHEST question. So I'll do a funny fav and serious fav.

Funny fav from "We Tell You, There's No Substitute!":

Tony leaned in close and whispered lovingly against the shell of his ear, "You gave me a home." Steve put a flat hand against Tony's cheek and pushed him back to his side. "Stay in your zone, tenant." He replied crisply.

Along his back, the press of Steve's fingers against his bare skin felt like asterisms in the making.

Though it may seem mundane, I was really happy about getting one of favourite words ("asterisms") into a fic. Call this my dork diary & whatnot.

that fic, as mentioned in the notes, came about as an indirect result of my tragically unfinished (but so close!) longfic, tangle of thorns: i was knocking TOT out in record time—total creative flow state—working the smut factor up to a big, frothy mess all set to boil over into a dramatic climax -- when i made the critical mistake (or happy accident, depending on how you look at it) of wandering over to pornhub for a little light research into BDSM (for staging purposes!), only to find a video of a very pretty blond guy getting worked over by a brunet leather daddy with a goatee. my stony brain went into overdrive, and i thought i'd play with the idea in a little side fic just to get it out of my system -- which was how NIKA became a whole thing 😅

it totally derailed tangle of thorns, unfortunately, but the result remains a fan favorite that i can't deny was worth it! someday i really want to write that sequel i've teased in the comments, but in the meantime my MTH 2023 fill for @bulkyphrase is shaping up to have some similar action going on (though this time loki is the dom to a mind-controlled, subservient himbo steve, while tony frets from the sidelines 😈)

When he accidentally stumbles across an attractive cam model online, the idea of having a virtual booty call on hand seems appealing. The only problem, Tony is far more charming than Steve would have imagined and there is more to him than a pretty smile and a nice body. Too bad all their interactions are just part of Tony's job… or are they?

And oh, Tony watches like it’s happening in slow motion, the tensing of tendons, the roll of Steve’s Adam's apple, the way his suprasternal notch collapses and fills as his esophagus works to, what, keep words down? Forcing himself up and on a run to burn through the overwhelming, restless energy that builds bright and early would be much more tolerable if it were a few hours later. Tony decides to do something about this.

Steve is a (Wonderful) Person But A Terrible Patient for sadieb798 (MCU, 3.5k Words) Tony is assigned a new patient, Steve Rogers, who has a lot of medical issues and Tony is ready to help. But he finds he has something to learn from Steve.

And then he scrambles for it, but the finger that presses on the answer button is still impossibly gentle. ‘Steve,’ Tony mumbles. Steve squeezes his eyes shut. It’s late in the night, but no one in the compound sleeps. It’s quiet nevertheless, and for a moment the only response Tony gets is Steve’s rasping breaths as he tries to gather what is left of himself.

Courting the Old Fashioned Way for Infinitywrites (AA, Art) There's a new mechanic in town. He bought a small ranch and fixes cars on the side. Steve is just being neighborly, welcoming him with some pie. It has nothing to do with the guy being cute. Nope. Not at all.
