I loved this beautiful Avatar 2 Fanart of the Spirotxo ship of the Spider Socorro and Rotxo characters together and above all, because I really love the fact that it has the beautiful theme of MODERN AU but also because I love it in it we see Spider as a Na'vi Avatar and still with his blond hair instead of black but above all because despite the fact that in this beautiful fanart of them Spider and Rotxo have a Polyamorous relationship with Kiri I really prefer only Spider and Rotxo as a romantic couple because the truth is that I only see Kiri and Spider nothing more as adoptive brothers but at the same time also because I love the idea that during their time living with the Metkayina, then it would have happened that Spider Socorro and Rotxo had discovered together and also at the same time they would have accepted the fact that Spider was actually transgender, while Rotxo was not binary and both would have supported each other and that they would also have been together when they told their parents, but also because I really love the idea that during his time with the Metkayina and Rotxo he was the one who taught Spider the lessons on how to breathe and live not only with the other Metkayinas and his family, but also with him in the ocean... and I also mean what we saw in the movie when Aonung, Tsireya and Rotxo taught Kiri, Lo'ak, Neteyam and Tuk about how to adapt to the reef if they ask me... but also why I really loved it and, above all, because I really hope we can see them fall deeply in love with each other and also become a beautiful romantic and canonical couple, the truth... sincerely

Summary: the Sully family moves to another city after Neytiri gets a new job there as an Archery teacher. In consequence, the kids go to a new high-school where they meet new people and also face people from their past, and basically just live their lives as teenagers.

Pairings: Neteyam x Ao'nung, Lo'ak x Tsireya, Kiri x Rotxo

Notes: I'm indecisive so I didn't know if I wanted this to be a Human Au or just a Na'vi fic, so you can imagine them as humans or Na'vi! it's up to you! I tried not to describe their appearance too much to make this easier, but I'll use human and Na'vi images for the chapters.

Also, I chose the title because it's a lyric from Townie by Mitski, and it makes me think so much about being a teenager so I think it's appropriate.

It was early in the morning when Jake was driving his kids to their new school. They just moved to their new house after Neytiri got a new job as an archery teacher, they decided it was better to move than to have Neytiri traveling everyday, they also saw it as an opportunity to buy a bigger house where they would live more comfortably as the big family they were.

Neteyam glanced at Lo'ak's phone and saw that he was looking at old pictures of Tsireya and him, Neteyam couldn't help but feel worried about his little brother's situation, even though he thought Tsireya had good reasons to break up, but it also wasn't something they couldn't work up.

"Do you still miss her?" Neteyam looked at his brother's face who couldn't stop looking longingly at his ex girlfriend's picture.

"Of course bro, I miss her more than anything"

"and have you talked to her lately?" Lo'ak sighed.

"Nah, I don't think she wants to talk to me."

"I mean, if you ask me, I think she would wanna hear about you, so she'll know that you care about her, like, that's the whole thing about your break up." Lo'ak sighed, putting his phone down.

"I don't know bro, I still feel kinda embarrassed, I was so clueless and thought everything was just fine between us."

"Okay but… Now that we live in the same city as Reya, what would you do if you run into her?" Lo'ak laughed at that scenario, because it was an impossible thing, he thought.

"Bro this is a big city, what are the odds of me running into her." Neteyam stared silently at him, confused.

"Is that actually a joke?"

"what do you mean?" Now Lo'ak was even more confused than his brother.

"Lo'ak, are you being for real?"

"About what?! please don't play with me right now I swear."

"Bro we are attending to the same school as her, and you are both on the same grade" Neteyam felt like he was explaining to a toddler that two plus two is four. "Are you telling me you didn't know that?" Judging by Lo'ak's wide eyes, no, he didn't knew that.

Lo'ak unbuckled his seatbelt, being his dramatic self. "Dad stop the car." Jake looked at him through the rear view mirror.

"Lo'ak don't start, put your seatbelt back on or i'm gonna crash into a tree."

Lo'ak's face was pale as he looked at Neteyam once again "Why wouldn't you tell me about this shit?!"

"Cause' I thought you knew what was your girlfriend's school smartass! that's why she broke up with you, you don't even know something so basi-" Before he could finish, Lo'ak grabbed his hair in a fist.

"Take that back!" Now, Neteyam was trying to push his brother back.

"Get off of me!" At this point, they were both pulling their hair and pushing each other's faces.

"Hey, hey!" Jake suddenly stopped the car, making both of them stop immediately and look at their father with frightened faces "You two are way too grown to be fighting like this, specially you, Neteyam" the mentioned boy's ears laid flat against his head. "Now, both of you, get out of the car and walk to school, let's see if you keep misbehaving like this when you arrive."

The brothers looked at their father with wide eyes, but soon they just looked down and said "Yes, sir" as they opened the door and got out. They weren't far from the school, they could see it from where they were standing, but it was embarrassing that they got kicked out of the car because of their little fight

the walk to school was silent and the tension was palpable, Lo'ak felt guilty and he could also feel Neteyam's anger irradiate from him like fire, but once they got to the entrance, the older brother patted the younger's head.

"If you need anything just text me, okay?" He may be angry because of the scolding they got because of their little argument, but he was still worried about Lo'ak and his situation.

Lo'ak walked fast into school because he didn't wanna run into that particular someone, meanwhile, Neteyam wasn't in any hurry so he just walked like a normal person.

Until he saw Kiri surrounded by a group of guys laughing at her.

After an eventful car ride to school with her beloved family, Kiri arrives to school before her brothers, of course.

"Have a nice day baby" Jake watches her get out of the car with her green backpack "If someone bothers you don't hesitate to ask your brothers for help, okay?" She nodded.

"Alright dad, see ya!"

As she's walking towards the entrance, she spots some beautiful flowerpots with big leaves covering them. She didn't knew yet, but that was part of he gardening club. At the entrance, if you walk a few steps to the side of the building, you will find a narrow but long greenhouse with some vegetables growing inside that the students sowed themselves. outside theres two white benches in between flowers, cactuses and other beautiful plants that are well cared for by the students.

She strongly believes in talking to plants and giving them positive energy to grow stronger and beautiful, she also finds it really therapeutic talking to them, and the best part is that they'll never judge her

"Look!" She hears a masculine voice getting closer, along with some giggles. "Is she talking to a plant? you gotta be kidding me" It was some Metkayina boys that were getting closer.

"she's a freak, man" Kiri looked at them with furrowed brows and they could tell that she wasn't Metkayina. "And she's not from here... She must be from the forest."

Kiri rolls her eyes and sighs annoyed as she tries to leave the garden, when the tallest boy gets in her way. He had braided hair and a bun along with some loose curls. His blue eyes were so blue they were almost clear, and Kiri always thought blue eyes looked terrifying.

"Hey, chill." He laughs mockingly "I doubt we interrupted an important conversation here, Forest girl"

"Please just, leave me alone" Kiri tries to get out of this situation but the guys just kept walking around her like vultures, making her dizzy.

When Neteyam arrives, is almost like a sixth sense activates on his brain. He gets closer to the laughter, where the garden is, he doesn't understand what's going on until he hears his sister's voice. He walks at a fast pace and throws his backpack to the ground once he arrives to this circle formed around his younger sister.

He sees the taller boy standing in front of his sister, preventing her from leaving while the other boys around them just laugh. By grabbing the taller boy's shoulder, he turns him around, finding a stunned look in his face.

Neteyam didn't even need to raise his voice to be intimidating, his eyes were just enough to feel your blood getting colder.

"Leave her alone," His voice sounded almost like a growl, Ao'nung felt goosebumps. "Now."

Koro, Ao'nung's friend, was quick to talk back, "Who the fuck do you think you-" But Ao'nung stopped him right away.

Looking at him up and down with a smirk, he raised both of his hands in surrender, letting the darker skinned boy know he was done annoying Kiri.

The girl walked towards her brother just wanting to leave the scene, but Neteyam and Ao'nung held eye contact for a few more seconds until the siblings turned around and left.

Ao'nung's friends looked at him confused, while he just kept looking at Neteyam's back, feeling just as confused as them.

"Who's that?"

Once they were far enough, Neteyam quickly stopped to check on his little sister, he scanned her up and down with his eyes and held her head in both of his hands to talk to her.

"Are you alright? Did they hurt you?" Kiri avoided eye contact.

"I'm fine, It's just... I don't wanna talk about it right now." The bell rang indicating their classes were starting, the hallway appeared to be busier at every second.

"If anybody bothers you again just call me and I'll rip their throats off with my teeth, alright?" Kiri smiled, Neteyam shuffled her hair and then they parted ways.

The first period was over, the Sully brothers didn't knew anyone yet other than Tsireya, so they were spending their free time at the school gym, not doing anything in particular, just chatting.

"Do you think that if I talked to her we could start dating again?" Neteyam sighed, actually getting tired of the Tsireya situation.

"I mean, you could at least try instead of asking me that same question over and over." Neteyam rolled his eyes.

"Yeah but what if-" before Lo'ak could finish that sentence, a guy came up to them with a basketball in his hands.

"Hey, we need two more players, are you guys up to?" Neteyam smiled and took the basketball in his hands as he walked away with the boy.

"C'mon Lo!" Neteyam shouted.

"Alright, alright!" Lo'ak followed his brother even though right now he just wanted to keep talking about his situation.

Lucky for them, they both played basketball since they were kids when their dad taught them. Neteyam even won some trophies when he was younger, which made his father really proud. On the other hand, Lo'ak wanted to be as good as his brother at basketball and make his father proud too, but he just couldn't, was it because Neteyam was taller? maybe he was faster? or maybe he just jumped higher? he didn't knew for certain, and that sometimes made him feel impotent.

They were getting into their positions when Neteyam noticed something, or more specifically, someone, on the other team. It was the guy that was making fun of Kiri earlier.

When they made eye contact neither of them looked away, Neteyam looked at him with a frown and Ao'nung at first had a surprised look on his face which soon switched into a smug grin.

When the game started, Ao'nung was baffled at how fast Neteyam was, they weren't even playing an actual game, this was just for fun, but the boy seemed so immersed in the game, like a professional player. Everyone noticed how good Neteyam was and how in sync him and Lo'ak were, probably because they played the sport together for years.

The bell rang just in time when their game ended, it wasn't a surprise that Neteyam's team won, everyone congratulated him, he was the new kid and he already was a sensation amongst their classmates, which made Lo'ak feel a bit left out.

"Yo Neteyam, are you joining the basketball team?" a boy from Neteyam's team asked while walking next to him

Neteyam found himself surrounded by people talking to him about how amazing he was at basketball and that he should definitely join the school's team.

"That's amazing son! Do you know when are the tryouts?"

The day was finally over, they were having dinner when Jake asked Neteyam about his day. He knew if he told his dad about the whole basketball thing he would be so proud, and he was, his eyes looked brighter when he heard the news.

"I think they start next week, they also play basket in between classes so maybe I'll practice with them but i'm not sure." He was moving his food with a fork while he spoke, Jake looked at him with a confused frown.

"What do you mean you're not sure? you have to do it! So they'll know you're motivated." He raised his voice unconsciously.

"Jake" Neytiri said as a warning, she knew her husband gets a little carried away when it's about his son playing sports, and Neteyam was such a people pleaser he would do whatever it would take to never disappoint his parents. So if Jake told Neteyam that he had to train 24/7 until he passed out, his son will most certainly do it.

"i'll go to the tryouts too dad." Lo'ak said looking at his father, who looked at him a little less excited.

"That's good, son, but you have to keep your grades up if you wanna be on a team, alright?" Lo'ak sighed and looked down at his plate, expecting a happier reaction from his dad.

"Yes, sir."

"Speaking of joining things" Kiri spoke, trying to ease the tension in the table. "I joined the gardening club, the "tryout" was being good at science so I just signed in." she joked.

"That's great darling" Neytiri smiled "You'll meet a lot of smart people like you then." Kiri laughed softly.

"I hope so, at least I won't be joining a sports team, everyone there is crazy." Lo'ak and Neteyam pretended to be offended.

"At least I won't be surrounded by nerds" Lo'ak talked back playfully, but Kiri looked at Neteyam.

"You'll be surrounded by hot athletic boys that's why you'll join the team" her older brother looked at her with wide eyes and his mouth full of food as he spoke.

"Why are you attacking me! I didn't even said anything!" bits of food fell out of his mouth, Neytiri put a napkin on his mouth, trying not to laugh.

"Teyam that's disgusting! behave on the table!"

I've caved. Here's my Avatar The Last Airbender uni au and modern/non bender au headcanons.

Here's what I think the main kids uni majors/minors would be:

Aang: wildlife conservation with a minor in political sciences

Katara: medicine, education minor

Sokka: engineering, polisci minor

Toph: geology with a martial arts minor (changed my mind, education minor)

Zuko: forced to do law & politics by his family but switches to history/anthropology, keeping politics as a minor

Azula: law w a psychology minor

Mai: forced to do politics by family but wants to do art, history minor

Ty Lee: training in acrobatics and performance at a performing arts school and works at the circus

Suki: human relations and activism, martial arts minor

Yue: Dance major (same school as Ty Lee, polisci minor

Living situations:

Katara and Sokka flat together and eventually Aang becomes a permanent resident

Toph lives right across from them, she likes her own space and independence but she'd never want to be too far from her friends

Zuko lives with Iroh above his teashop and works there part time

Suki has a sharehouse with the kyoshi warriors (her hockey team)

Ty Lee and Yue get assigned room-mates first year and became pretty quick friends, they continue to live together afterwards

Azula has her own apartment (of course). So does Mai, but she spends so much time at Azulas she basically lives there. Neither of them would admit it but they much prefer it to having whole houses to themselves.

Suki is mixed Chinese, Filipino and French-Canadian and live in an island off of Quebec

Have not decided where the uni would be but probably BSSU (Ba Sing Se uni) cause I know a lot of ppl use that as the uni name

I don't know a ton about US and Canadian geography so if y'all have ideas for what states or provinces the characters would hail from (especially what state/city Zuko, Azula, Mai and Ty Lee grew up in) I would def appreciate the suggestions

Aang has a Tibetan Mastiff called Appa and Sokka has a Siamese cat called Momo (he found him behind a dumpster looking for food scraps and Sokka knew he'd found a kindred spirit,,, much to Kataras initial dismay)

Aang grew up in a sort of hippie/alternative living foster home that taughtbuddist beliefs, he never knew his real parents but he was okay with that.

I'm a fan of bigcorp ceo Ozai but also political tyrant Ozai works as well so I'm srsly torn on that. Politician Ozai would either have to be a nation ruler or American ambassador because I like to think Zuko and Azula moved around a lot as kids so he couldn't have a job that keeps him in ine place. That's why I like the idea of ceo Ozai. He would still have a lot of political power and it would still mean moving around a lot plus him being super corrupt and exploiting his workers is fun for angst.

Oh and!! Zuko and Azula lived in Singapore for part of highschool and their family visited a lot for holidays. Since Tophs parents and Ozai worked together, Zuko and Azula were around at The Beifongs a lot and entertained themselves by making fun of Toph for hanging out with a "poor tree hugging commoner" like Aang

so there's an Aonunete fic ive been working on to the side for a little bit and I wanted it to be a one shot, but I got carried away and now Im debating if I should post it chapter by chapter? uuuuuuuugh. decisions. Its Human AU where the Sully's do move into a new town but Neteyam stayed behind with Mo'at to graduate highschool with his peers. So Ao'nung meets Lo'ak first and while they do butt heads, they actually become friends without the extra animosity of the avatar setting and because of exposure therapy since they're on the same basket ball team. But Neteyam finally showing up after the school years up for him and Ao'nung is scrambling when he realizes Lo'aks golden boy brother is 100% husband material and he's gotta do something about it. But Neteyam isnt taking him seriously because he's his younger brothers best friend which puts him in adopted brother mindset and he cant figure out if he's grateful for the extra time to get his shit together or frustrated as fuck that he cant get this beautiful bastard to notice him. Just kind of an interest check on if I should start posting it, or just go ahead and wait till its finished? current title is "Best Friends Brother"

Modern harringrove au where Billy and Steve met over a VR basketball game as a way of escaping their shitty highschool lives.

Billy is living with an abusive dad who constantly berates him about his weight and despite his constantly good grades, all Neil wants is a son who plays basketball.

Steve has been in “special ed” classes from the age of five, doesn’t really have friends apart from Dustin and Robin, and was told he needed to start doing more physically dexterous activities for his dyspraxia.

They’re also both very closeted.

Neither of them start playing basketball in real life, but instead meet each other over the internet, both with avatars based on 80s jocks. They start a homoerotic rivalry, become friends and eventually become boyfriends but put off meeting each other in real life out of fear of disappointment compared to their avatar.

That is until Billy announces that he’s moving. To Steve’s town. Then things become more complicated.

Summary: Neteyam has a shitty day in every way a day can be shitty, but Ao'nung helps to make it better. On the meantime, Lo'ak helps Tsireya study and have a great time, unlike their older brothers.

Notes: TW (little spoiler) someone throws up in this chapter cause they feel dizzy, letting you know just in case someone is uncomfortable with that!

He wouldn't admit it, but if he felt guilty before when he pranked an obviously stressed Neteyam, now the feeling was way worse.

Ao'nung was trying to focus on his class but he just felt this curiosity about Neteyam, the forest boy. It was like his eyes were glued to the every move from the darker skinned boy.

He had noticed that Neteyam was very protective of his family. In the area were they moved, everyone knew eachother and lived in community because they've been there their whole lives. So when this new Omaticaya family moved into the neighborhood everyone seemed to believe they had the right to talk about them.

And either Neteyam wasn't affected by people's comments or he just knew how to hide his feelings really well. But when it comes to his family, he could be pretty terrifying, and would defend them with teeth and nails.

He also has noticed that Neteyam was almost too compliant for his own good. When their teachers needed help carrying their heavy stuff they asked him for help knowing he won't hesitate in carrying a printer, for example, all the way to the classroom.

When they had basketball practice he would always go after the ball when it was hit too hard, and the coach also would ask him to bring him stuff he had left at the teacher's room... That was at the other end of the school.

He could tell that Neteyam felt exhausted. He always paid attention in class and was overall a good student, but sometimes he just fell asleep on his desk after battling with his tired eyes trying to stay awake.

But even if he was so tired that his eyes closed by themselves, if he was running to get things their teachers needed, or defending his sister and the rest of his family, he always looked put together. Ao'nung thought that if he did as much things as Neteyam did, he wouldn't even bother to take care of his appearance. But Neteyam always wore stylish outfits in soothing colors, his hair was always in place, or he made it seem like it, and also wore jewelry, from his pierced ears to rings embracing his fingers

What a sight, huh?

Tsireya went downstairs ready to go out when she saw Ao'nung laying on the couch like a starfish and just staring the ceiling in complete silence, which was an unusual view for her. He was usually eating and watching a show, swimming at their swimming pool or in the ocean, out with his friends or at some one night stand's house he had sneaked out to and Tsireya has to make sure he doesn't get caught by their parents.

"Bro?" She laughed at him, he looked like a rag doll laying there. "Is everything okay?" He looked at her, with a thoughtful look on his face.

"I think Neteyam hates me" She honestly expected anything else but that answer. That was the reason why he's so afflicted?

"Teyam? hate you? that's such nonsense, he's so sweet." Ao'nung's calmed expression morphed into a perplexed one.

"«Teyam»? what do you mean «Teyam»?"

"Yeah that's his nickname. I don't call him Neteyam Sully," Tsireya said as if it was something so obvious.

"Neteyam Sully? As in Lo'ak Sully?" She nodded with a smile, entertained with her brother's disbelief.

"He's Lo'ak's brother so I already knew him, he's my friend, actually." Ao'nung shook his head, insisting that it was a lie.

"Why would I lie about that? They are brothers" She giggled.

"I mean, Neteyam is taller, smarter, prettier, waaaay less annoying, kinder…" He was enumerating with his fingers. Tsireya just looked at him with a suspicious gaze in her eyes, but she decided not to tease him by saying that it sounded like he was in love or something.

"Okay... And why do you think he hates you?" Ao'nung stopped enumerating Neteyam's qualities to gather his words.

"I just… I bet he thinks i'm a horrible person because I made fun of his sister." He felt stupid saying that, of course Neteyam wouldn't like him if he was being an asshole to his sister.

"Oh well, that's kinda understandable you know? like, what would you do if someone made fun of me and called me names?"

"I'd beat the shit out of them?"

"Exactly." Ao'nung remembered one more thing that could probably make Neteyam dislike him.

"On the tryouts I told him he didn't make it to be on the team, as a joke… he called me an asshole."

"I see... well, have you tried to apologize?" It was so obvious that he had to at least apologize, it made her feel like she was talking to a toddler. Her brother just looked down.

"... No." Tsireya checked the hour on her phone and put it back in her bag.

"You should definitely start from there, otherwise I can't really help you!" She walked towards the door and Ao'nung immediately stopped her.

"Hold on, hold on, where do you think you are going?" He crossed his arms and Tsireya rolled her eyes as he got into his Protective-older-brother character.

"Lo'ak is going to help me study for my math test." Lo'ak is as dumb as a rock, he thought, They won't study shit.

"Help you study… Sure, tell him I send him death threats!" She was already out of the door.

"I'll tell Neteyam you said hi!"

"You little-!" The door was already closed behind her.

After the results of the first biology test were handed over to the senior years Neteyam felt his stomach sink. Looking at the score he got absolutely ruined his day.

Dad is gonna be so mad at me…

He got home and immediately gathered his books and notes on the empty dinning table and started studying and checking what he got wrong on his test.

He just couldn't believe he got a B in his biology test. He wanted to blame the basketball team, or having to take care of his siblings, or having studied too much for the English test, but he knew he couldn't blame no one or nothing but himself, it was his fault.

He didn't want to show this score to his father yet, until he had another one that was good enough so it will soften the impact and maybe won't make his father as disappointed.

He was always a good student, a good son and brother, so a lot was expected from him, which sometimes it felt like too much, but he always had to keep up to not disappoint anyone.

He was checking his failed test looking for his weak spots, but couldn't help but getting distracted by Lo'ak walking around nervously, wearing his best clothes and... Perfume?

"You look so fancy baby brother." He said as a joke, but it was actually kinda true.

"Oh, this?" he checked his clothes and the watch on his wrist theatrically "Nah, this is just my casual off-duty attire." A laugh escaped Neteyam's lips, he got up and walked towards his brother.

"And where are you going may I ask?" He fixed the neck of Lo'ak's jacket and he backed off, accommodating it back in the way he liked it.

"Bro don't ruin my fit! i'm going out with Tsireya." He couldn't pretend to be annoyed because a smile escaped from his lips just by saying her name.

"For real?! on a date?!"

"More like a study date, she needs help with math so i'll help her. We're going to a coffee shop tho." He tried to keep it cool but when he heard the door being knocked his stomach dropped, she was already there.

Both of them looked at each other with wide eyes, Lo'ak punched the air hyping himself up while Neteyam got out of sight and sat back on the dinning table. He didn't want Tsireya to see Lo'ak with a cool outfit and then seeing him with pajama shorts and a tiny t-shirt.

Lo'ak opened the door greeting Tsireya and then they got on their way to this coffee shop. When the door was closed behind them, Neteyam got up to make himself a cup of coffee, since no one invited him to coffee shops.

He was pouring almond milk in his coffee when he heard his father's voice from the dining room.

"Tuk can you wait for me in the car?" Neteyam's blood felt ice cold, and once again felt his stomach drop.

His test was on the table.

"Neteyam, come over here." His voice didn't sound happy at all.

He came over to where his father was holding his test, he put the cup of coffee on the table and looked down just waiting for the reprimand.

"What is this, boy?" Jake showed his son that infamous paper on his hand.

"Dad I-"

"You got a B?! did you study at all?" Neteyam felt so ashamed he just wanted to disappear.

"Not…Not much."

"You have to keep your grades up if you want to be on a sports team, you know that right?"

"Yes sir"

"Your only duty is to study, and you can't even do that?"

Neteyam's heart ached hearing that. Did his father not see everything he does? How he takes care of his siblings? How he always does his best to be a good student? A good son? How he practices so much to be the best basketball player he can be so he can make his father proud? Does any of that matters?

Jake stared at the red ink on the test once more, a disappointed sigh making Neteyam feel a knot on his throat.

"This isn't good at all, son." He left the test on the table and pressed it with his finger at every word "You better fix this."

"Yes, sir" Neteyam couldn't looked at him in his eyes anymore, He didn't want to.

Jake put on his jacket and stood at the door.

"I'm taking Tuk to the movies, your mother will be home soon."

The door was closed leaving an echo in the silent house, Neteyam just stood there thinking why on earth did he left that goddamn test on the table, now his father was disappointed and it felt heavy on his chest. He sat down back to study, but he just couldn't think straight, his eyes filled with tears and his coffee was getting cold.

Later that day, Ao'nung was on his bedroom when he heard Tsireya talking to their father downstairs. She was already back from her study-date with Lo'ak and he wanted to know everything about it.

Once he heard his sister walking into her room he immediately got up from his bed and went to talk to her, leaning on the open door while she took off her earrings, not noticing his presence. He smirked.

He watched her in silence for a few seconds before speaking loudly and fast "How was your date, sis?!" Tsireya screamed like she was being murdered and threw him one of her plushies directly to his face.

"Holy fuck you scared the shit out of me!" Ao'nung laughed and sat down on her bed.

"It never gets old, you scream like a goat." He held his stomach with both of his arms while he couldn't stop laughing, making his sister angry.

"Get out of my room!"

"No, no, i'm sorry" he wiped a tear as he calmed down. "I wanted to ask you, how was your date with the insufferable Sully brother?" She rolled her eyes at the nickname but decided to ignore it and continued to get her earrings off as she spoke.

"It was actually really good, and it wasn't a date at all" Ao'nung's eyes widened, he didn't expected that.

"It wasn't? So he really just helped you with math?" Tsireya looked at him, also surprised.

"Exactly… I thought he would take me out to this coffee shop using studying just as an excuse to flirt with me or talking about our relationship." Ao'nung nodded.

"Same"

"…But he was actually really sweet and attentive, he really wanted me to understand the homework and took his time explaining everything. He didn't flirt with me once."

Even if Lo'ak wasn't being flirty with her while they were studying, Tsireya felt like that was much more special, she felt like he really cared about her. And she also had a great time, they talked about school and about their friends and sometimes she had tears in her eyes when Lo'ak made her laugh too much, her laugh being an absolute masterpiece to his ears.

The basketball practice has come and Neteyam didn't really felt like it. He only slept two hours last night, had a poor and rushed breakfast because he woke up late, studied on every break and when he realized he forgot to bring his lunch he just kept studying more. He wouldn't even dare to ask his father if he could bring him his lunch to school just because he forgot to pack it, it would be too embarrassing.

It didn't happen too often, but when he did something that made his father feel angry or disappointed, it really disrupted his whole routine, but he made it go unnoticed for everyone successfully every time.

Until today

After warming up before the game started, Neteyam noticed he was feeling more tired than usual, normally a warm up wouldn't leave him breathing so fast, but he didn't make a big deal of it and just kept stretching on his place. When he started to feel lightheaded that's when he got worried and just stood still, trying to focus and control his breath

"Are you alright? you look a little bit pale" Ao'nung Was stretching near the boy when he noticed that Neteyam felt uneasy as he breathed fast and heavily and had a worried look on his face. The Omaticaya put a hand on his chest, apparently unable to control his breath. "Neteyam?"

The mentioned looked up at the blue eyed boy, but his vision was interrupted with blurriness and tiny lights "I'm… I'm fi-"

The sound of a body dropping to the floor made their classmates turn their heads in unison. "Neteyam!" Ao'nung kneeled down next to the boy's head and held his face on his cupped hands, gently slapping his cheek to see if Neteyam woke up. "Hey! Neteyam wake up!" He had never seen someone passing out, which frightened him because he didn't knew if the boy laying on the floor was alright or if he had to call an ambulance or maybe just slap his face harder.

"Kids! kids! everyone back up!" The coach ordered as everyone was curious to see what happened. Lo'ak kneeled next to him with panic on his face and also slapping his brother's arm to wake him up. "Bro are you alright?!"

After a few seconds, the boy finally opened his eyes, Ao'nung exhaling air he didn't knew he was holding back. Neteyam was confused when he saw Ao'nung's face over his, and even more confused when he felt his hand cupping his face. And the confusion didn't stop when he noticed that his brother was moving his shoulder rapidly to wake him up.

"Thank god I thought he was dead!" Ao'nung felt so relieved that he woke up. During this commotion he didn't realize that he was caressing Neteyam's face with his thumb, removing his hand immediately once he noticed.

"He woke up?" Lo'ak and Ao'nung nodded answering to the coach, and then he asked Neteyam. "How are you feeling now son? Are you still dizzy?"

"No, no, no, I'm good." Neteyam was in fact not feeling good, but he tried to sit to prove that he was feeling better. Now the coach spoke to Ao'nung.

"Take him to the nursery alright? We will keep training in here."

"I'll go too." Lo'ak spoke decided but Neteyam shook his head.

"No Lo'ak, it's okay I just need to drink some…some water."

"Bro you are not okay, look at you! you're still asleep."

"Lo'ak you have to keep training, Ao'nung will take him." The coach instructed and then turned around to give the instructions to the rest of the team.

Ao'nung carefully took Neteyam's arm and placed it around his shoulders with a hand holding the long haired boy's waist to help him stand up and walk to the nursery.

"Ao'nung this is unnecessary, I can walk by myself" His tired voice didn't sound convincing at all, Ao'nung sighed.

"Forest boy, what would happen if I listened you and I let you walk by yourself and then you pass out and hit that head of yours, huh? Those tight braids won't cushion you." Neteyam smiled a shyly, not wanting to laugh.

Fortunately the nursery was pretty close to the gym, so they got in there and Ao'nung helped Neteyam to get on the gurney while the nurse asked what happened.

When he told her he passed out she handed him a bucket in case he still felt dizzy and told him he probably fainted because his blood sugar was too low

She got a call from the soccer coach needing the wheelchair because a student apparently broke his ankle. The nurse shook her head and talked about how agressive this day's kids were as she took the wheelchair and got out.

Ao'nung noticed that Neteyam's breathing changed again, the Omaticaya was looking up to the ceiling and breathing deeply. Ao'nung immediately freaked out.

"Are you gonna faint again? Quick, lay down!" he tried to push Neteyam on his side but he slapped his hand, still trying to breath.

"Please just- don't talk you're making me feel dizz-" Thank Eywa the nurse gave him that stupid bucket because he felt his stomach squishing and contracting, throwing up the little food he had that day.

Ao'nung rubbed his back, trying not to watch the contents of Neteyam's stomach falling out of his mouth. But he noticed that after throwing up, Neteyam kept gagging but nothing came out.

"I'm so sorry you had to see me throw up, I know it's fucking disgusting" Neteyam spoke after he finally could breath normally, he was hugging the blue bucket, feeling weak but now way better. Ao'nung just kept rubbing his back.

"Don't worry, it happens to all of us" He tried to comfort the boy, and now he thought about what the nurse was talking about earlier. "Neteyam, when was the last time you ate today?"

He thought about it and felt embarrassed when he answered "I think… When I had breakfast." Ao'nung's eyes widened.

"Are you fucking kidding me? you must be starving." Neteyam looked down, ashamed.

"I forgot my lunch at home and didn't bring any money with me, it's my fault, I deserve it."

Ao'nung got up and wide amber eyes looked at him with curiosity, he handed Neteyam a tissue and walked to the door.

"Wipe your mouth, I'll be here in a second."

Neteyam tied a knot on the plastic bag of the bucket and put it aside as he wiped his mouth. This was the worst day ever, she felt like shit and since he woke up and now Ao'nung had to see him being so weak and disgusting and now that he knows he didn't eat anything all day because his stupid bird brain forgot to pack food he must think he's so dumb. He probably went back to the gym, he couldn't blame him though, why would he wanna stay here with him and his puke bucke-

"I'm back!"

Huh?

Ao'nung sat next to him and handed him first a bottle with a blue liquid inside, while he opened a plastic wrapper. "I bought you a gatorade and…" He handed Neteyam the open envelope that smelled absolutely delicious. "A lemon cake, I hope you like it, they had brownies too but I didn't knew if you were allergic to nuts so..."

Neteyam was speechless as he looked at the bottle and cake on his hands, both opened and ready to eat. This day was and still is a rollercoaster of emotions and right now he felt like he could cry just seeing this act of kindness. It may not seem like much, but he thought that Ao'nung went out of his way to get him food, open the envelopes and gave it to him ready to just eat it, and he also didn't thought he was disgusting or stupid. No one has been this kind to him in a long time…

Ao'nung got worried when Neteyam didn't drink or eat the things he bought for him.

"W-what's wrong? you don't like lemon cake? or is it the gatorade? I can get you something different! tell me what you-" Ao'nung freaking out made Neteyam come back to reality.

"Oh, no, no, everything is fine, i'm just… Really grateful." He smiled and took a bite of the lemon cake. "Thank you so much."

Ao'nung sighed with relief and smiled back at the boy next to him. "You're welcome."

The practice was over and everyone was going home. Neteyam was outside by himself when he heard his little brother calling him"

"Neteyam! You're here!" Lo'ak ran towards him with both his and Neteyam's backpack on his shoulders

"Yeah, sorry, I just needed some air-" Lo'ak collided into Neteyam and hugged him tightly, making him take two steps back because of the impact, Neteyam felt moved and also guilty for making his baby brother feel scared because of him fainting.

"What the fuck happened?" Worried eyes looked up at Neteyam and he just rested his hand on his brother's braided hair.

"The nurse said it was because I hadn't slept enough and that my blood sugar was low, but it's nothing to be worried about I promise" He took his backpack off of Lo'ak's shoulder and started walking.

"Man I wanted to take you to the nursery, sorry that you had to go with fish lips." Neteyam smiled.

"You know, he wasn't a pain in the ass actually, even he bought me some food."

"Just because he wasn't being an asshole one time it doesn't mean he's a good person now" Neteyam wanted to defend Ao'nung because of how caring he was with him, but Lo'ak was probably right, after all, Ao'nung made fun of Kiri and didn't even felt guilty about it.

"Lo'ak."

"hm?"

"Don't tell a word about what happened to mom and dad, okay?" Lo'ak furrowed his brows at such a request.

"What? You don't want them to know you passed out? Why?"

So his father would think that he was so useless that he couldn't even take care of himself? No, thanks.

"I just don't want them to worry, alright?" Neteyam spoke, getting defensive, but Lo'ak wasn't buying his excuses.

"Why though? They are your parents, worrying about you is their job"

"Lo'ak." His voice was severe, like a warning. "Just don't."

"Bro you should just put your pride aside and let them help you." On one side, Lo'ak really was worried about his brother and thought it was a stupid idea to hide what happened. But on the other side, he was tired of Neteyam not accepting help from other people, specially his family. Why does he have to be so prideful and appear to be so perfect?

"I don't need help Lo'ak!" He shouted exasperated.

"Why, because you're so perfect?! Because you're the perfect son so you can't even get sick?" Neteyam shook his head in disbelief, he wasn't even near to be perfect, Lo'ak didn't know what he's talking about. "Eywa forbid you felt dizzy during practice, you're too much above all of us for that." He said sarcastically.

"Can you stop being such dickhead?" Lo'ak laughed bitterly.

"Alright, fine, I won't tell what happen, but if you pass out again or something, I won't even try to help you."

Lo'ak walked ahead leaving Neteyam behind. He sighed, a discussion with his brother was the last thing he needed today.

⌲ H for Hobbies and Hates (What are their hobbies and what do they hate doing?)

neteyam: his hobbies include; archery, calligraphy, hiking, canoeing, skiing, camping, rock climbing, basically almost every outdoor sport that requires amazing core strength. And chess. Don’t tell me this man doesn’t like chess. He’s good at a lot of things he tries, but he especially loves outdoor activities. If you don’t like going outside then i have some bad news for you babes cause he goes out almost every weekend. morning walks/runs everyday. AND he’s a genius at chess because of course he is. Once Ao’nung challenged him to a match and lost like 3 minutes in because he got too cocky. Neteyam had the smuggest look on his face for the rest of the day. I also think he likes sketching small doodles messily with a pen when he’s bored.

He claims to not hate anything, but his siblings know he’s traumatised by yoga (i have a backstory for this), so don’t ask him to participate in anything like that cause he’ll decline immediately (but politely.)

kiri: Girl loves the outdoors like Neteyam but not so much all the physical activities. She likes swimming but only in lakes and rivers and not public pools cause she’s disgusted by the piss and the smell. She also loves thrifting her clothes and cutting them up and making them into personalised outfits for her own style. She lives for aesthetics and probably has a scrapbook and loves journaling about all the plants and unique animals she finds on her little walks. She and Tsireya also have a podcast (that Lo’ak and Rotxo religiously listen to). The only thing she really doesn’t like is being in loud places with too many hyper people like music festivals, concerts, basically just doing anything that involves being in large uncoordinated crowds.

lo'ak: he does basic rebel boy stuff like skateboarding, playing games on his phone (be real he’s too broke to have a PC), yo-yoing, and since he can run real fast he likes volleyball, tennis, badminton, anything that requires you to be quick on your feet cause he’s awesome at those things. He hates anything that requires you to use your brain (except chess he’s actually kinda good at it surprisingly, but not as good as Ao’nung or Neteyam). He had an ant farm once when he was like 6 and cherished it so much but then he dropped the frame and they all scattered in the house and it earned him the spanking of his life (everyone kept finding ants in their shit for the next 4 months).

ao'nung: as you know by now, he’s a chess douchebag. He’s amazingly freakishly good at it (like math) and if he meets new people and there's a chessboard conveniently nearby he’ll challenge them to it just because he wants to humiliate them a little. He doesn’t actually like it that much, he just likes beating people using his smarts for once. Other than that, he loves basketball, volleyball. He hates walking in forests cause he hates insects (always carries mosquito spray around).

rotxo: he likes writing stories and photography since he’s a literature lover and the yearbook editor. Sometimes he’ll go with Kiri on her walks and they have fun photoshoots of little animals, plants or her. He’s so good with a camera, he’s often the guy people give the phone to, to take pictures for their instagram. He doesn’t like loud places like Kiri and i headcanon he’s actually claustrophobic. He’s okay with most activities.

tsireya: enjoys public speaking hence the podcast, loved cracking jokes as a kid and still does now, likes to listen to a bunch of different genres of music, learns a few dances and likes making aesthetic graphics on her laptop as well as edits of her favourite tv show characters. She’s alright with physical activity. terrified of heights so anything that requires her to get above 20 floors of height is a no no.

⌲ I for Income (Do they have a part time job and what are they like when working?)

neteyam: Yes he does, he works at an animal shelter. Originally he was a volunteer but then the owner of said shelter thought he was doing a great job and decided they’d start paying for it. He refused a couple times but the owner insisted. The animal shelter has a few birds, some dogs, cats, hamsters, one snake but it escaped and they’ve never seen it since. He remembers all the feeding times and schedules and memorises any allergies, difficulties, injuries, etc and he’s just great with the animals, he adores them. He also takes the dogs on walks often.

kiri: she’d probably be a barista at starbucks, 70% of the time she’s the voice taking orders at the drive through. Dislikes dealing with karens and annoying people cause unlike classes she can’t argue with them else she’d get fired, but it’s great for practice calming herself. Enjoys mixing her own drinks, HATES the cleaning process after closing everyday. Definitely makes tiktoks about customers in the backroom when she's bored

lo'ak: the guy that sells snacks and drinks at the movie theatre. He steals some popcorn from time to time cause he’s hungry but he’s really good at convincing people to buy stuff. Super friendly and never fails to get people to buy more snacks or upgrade their popcorn box size. “Yo bro I think you and your girl need a little more popcorn than that, don’t you think? I can hook you up if you’re interested.” (said deal was always available but he knows people never read the little advertisements that flash on the tv menus)

ao'nung: lifeguard at the beach. Enjoys his time tanning and swimming around leisurely, (the girls love him and go to the beach every weekend just to see him) and it’s a pretty calm and easy job, nobody usually has any problems. Except for one time when a girl faked passing out to get him to do CPR on her but it didn’t work cause he knew what she was doing and claimed to not know how to do CPR. Instead he said he’d call her parents and she miraculously woke up the very next second.

rotxo: doesn’t have a job he sleeps a lot after school (hence the submitting assignments at 3:33am)

tsireya: she’s a babysitter and she does so incredibly well with kids, she’s so kind to them and sometimes lets them stay up a little (JUST A LITTLE) past their bedtime because she was once in their shoes and knows that sleeping at 7.15pm when they were supposed to sleep at 7pm doesn't make too big of a difference. they love her and she always gets callbacks from happy satisfied parents.

⌲ J for Jealous Of Your Lunch (or not) (What food do they eat during lunch?)

neteyam: he brings a homemade sandwich with lettuce, egg, some kinda meat and some sauce. Packs it himself, even leaves a little encouraging note for himself so he can read it later on (lo’ak calls him a dork). Doesn’t have a lunch bag, just puts it in a reusable plastic container (reduce reuse recycle guys). He usually just brings water but he’ll bring organic freshly squeezed orange juice on good days.

kiri: she steals the sandwiches/paninis from work and just microwaves them the next day to bring to school because she can't be bothered to actually make a homemade meal for herself. Sometimes she’ll pack gummy bears stolen from tuk’s “secret stash” or a small pringle can. Occasionally brings an extra stolen sandwich to give to tsireya or rotxo. brings cold water in her hydro flask or hot tea sometimes.

lo'ak: bro brings chips. Just a bag of chips. Takis if he can get them but he always eats chips during lunch and it concerns tsireya a lot because??? That's a whole lot of salt he consumes everyday. To make matters worse he keeps buying coke from the vending machine. Sometimes he gets school lunch with rotxo (i feel like they’d be chill buddies but only if ao’nung wasn’t around cause he kinda drags the attention away from rotxo unintentionally).

ao'nung: his family is rich so he just orders food online for himself. Sometimes if he’s feeling up to it he’ll treat all his friends to a meal (yes, including lo’ak, kiri and neteyam) but not that often else he’d be completely broke. You will find him and tsireya waiting at the school doors for the dude bringing their food to get there during the first 5 minutes of lunch.

rotxo: he eats school lunch. It’s not that bad in pandora high but it's still not the best. Always grabs rice and some form of protein, always gets chocolate pudding but he thinks chocolate milk sucks ass mainly cause of all the powder in it. he also has trauma of pizza from eating an expired school slice of pizza cause after that he projectile vomited all over the floor during a presentation and the only reason he’s lived it down is because nobody knows that it was him that did that (npc behaviour im so sorry rotxo)

tsireya: orders food with Ao’nung, definitely is the girl that offers to buy drinks for everyone (u gotta pay her back though…she’d be too nice to ask if you forgot but her brother WILL track you down and charge you interest every day that you don’t pay up. you do NOT want secret maths genius ao’nung keeping track of your debt everyday and staring you down in the hall menacingly).

⌲ K for Kick Off The Year (What are they like back at school after the holidays?)

neteyam: he’s actually always ticked off at school after the holidays, even on mondays just after the weekend. he enjoys his relaxation time where he doesn’t have to worry about keeping up appearances and at home where he can just sit back and chill. if it’s been more than a week since he’s been to school expect him to be upset for another week. he won’t make it obvious but his handwriting definitely becomes more aggressive and it’ll always look like he’s glaring at someone when he’s just looking at them. (im listening to she knows by ne-yo while writing this and ngl an upset neteyam….i wouldn’t mind that too much 🤭 hell someone remind me to write headcanons of neteyam when he’s upset please oml i can just see it now)

kiri: definitely annoyed about going back to school but let’s be real who wouldn’t be? She’ll get used to the schedule and everything after like a day or two of school. she enjoys hearing the teacher’s sighs as they come back on monday, seeing her sitting front row ready to point out all the mistakes they’ll make after the weekend.

lo'ak: bro acts like he hasn’t been to school in YEARS. He’ll sludge through the doors of school like goop and just be dead as hell. if you talk to him he’d sound like a dying goat. He does however light up when he sees Tsireya. that’s really the only good part of going back to school for him.

ao'nung: he never usually has a dull day at school and he’s pretty chill with it. Once he steps through those doors he’ll have people crowding him asking him about the new haircut he got during the holidays and the fact he looks more fit (may or may not be true)

rotxo: you’ll never know what this manz is feeling. His face is just 🙂constantly. He’s definitely happy to see kiri again but besides that you would never know if he’s happy or upset by going back to school.

tsireya: girl is excited as hell. super excited to tell her friends about the holiday to the maldives she took, super excited to run for president again (she’s actually not supposed to but the teachers love her so they just let her and she always ends up winning), super excited to get back to teaching the little kids ballet at the preschool building every thursday, super excited to talk to kiri and lo’ak again. you might think she’s one of those girls who peaks at highschool but you're wrong because she’s been peaking since she was BORN.

⌲ L for Locker (What’s their locker look like?)

neteyam: locker probably plain as hell, he doesn’t pay attention to it much. Maybe a calendar pasted on the inside as well as some reminder notes but that’s it. His books are neat, but i don’t think i needed to include that detail cause with neteyam everything is neat (except the bitchy attitude on mondays)

kiri: she probably has fairy lights in there and if you ask her how tf she’ll say magic, cause there’s literally nowhere to plug the goddamn thing in. she has polaroid photographs of the whole friend group pasted onto the door and has leaf stickers decorating them.

lo'ak: he has stickers of random shit in there, like a mcdonalds sticker, sticker from someone’s kpop album, sticker of a skateboard and a star wars sticker. used to have a pic of tsireya but took it down after one of her friends laughed at him in the hall. he has extra hair ties for tsireya in case she ever needs it.

ao'nung: has a mirror in there. Like the door is just a whole ass mirror when he opens it up. that's it. idk i just feel like he’d stick a mirror onto it, that just seems like what he’d do. always wipes the mirror in the morning to keep it shiny.

rotxo: also has photographs of the friend group and a childhood photo of him and ao’nung where he kisses ao’nung on the forehead (ao’nung still hasn’t noticed it to this day since rotxo put it up) and also has extra batteries for his camera in case he needs it.

tsireya: now this is the whole reason i put L for Locker. her locker is magnificent??? she has a little heart mirror that sticks to the door, a box of tissues and some emergency items in case any of her friends need something (which include but are not limited to; pads, tampons, a mini power bank, perfume, bubblegum, mints, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, glue, scissors, extra sheets of paper, a stapler, a hole puncher, etc).

the moment she got her locker key she DIY-ed it and made a cute keychain with her initials on it so nobody could mistake it for others, and people often drop little letters to her anonymously asking for something or a change in the school or a suggestion since she’s the president, or even love letters sometimes so she created a mini letter box and attached it beneath where the hole was so everything wouldn’t just fall to the floor when she opened the locker.

on the door there’s like a little slot she made for her hairbrush and some chapstick yk just in case. probably sticks glow in the dark stars on the top of the locker so she peeks into the locker before opening it just to admire them. oh and instead of post it notes to remind her about stuff, she has a mini eraser board on the door below the mirror.

⌲ M for Morning Routine (What’s their morning routine before school?)

neteyam: he gets up literally 4 hours before school starts, brushes his teeth, goes on a walk/run, showers, makes breakfast for himself and packs lunch for later, puts on a hoodie and cargo pants, and then he just lays on his bed watching youtube videos and/or studying. He doesn’t even need to wake up 4 hours before he just does it because he wants extra chill time before school. Has to wear earplugs when he reaches to 2 hour mark because of lo’aks loudass alarm.

kiri: she definitely gets up earlier then lo’ak, probably wakes up an hour and 30 minutes before school starts since their house is like 30 minutes away from their school (15 if there's no traffic). She can finish getting ready in like 25 minutes and she sits on the couch scrolling through social media while waiting for lo’ak’s dumbass to get up. Grabs a starbucks sandwich and airfries it for the amount of time that Neytiri takes to wake him up.

lo'ak: gets up an hour before school starts, alarm on max volume blaring into his ears (and been doing that for the past hour) and making the whole household deaf. rushes literally everything, forgets to bring at least 1 thing each day, and scrambles out the door after 30 minutes jumping into the backseat of Jake’s SUV.

ao'nung: he gets up 2 hours before school starts. their house is about the same distance from school as the sully’s, but idk i just feel like their house is huge and it takes up 3x maybe 4x the space a normal house would. he probably has his own horse or something, and tends to it every morning. if he could he would probably ride a horse to school idk. he does normal stuff, i dunno what you would want me to elaborate about besides the stupid little sibling fights him and reya have every morning.

rotxo: he wakes up an hour before school and spends 30 minutes getting ready and probably just eats cereal everyday for breakfast. spends the longest time taking care of his hair and brushing it out making sure it looks flawless. before he gets going he makes sure have this specific conversation with ao’nung over text: “u otw bro?” “yea bro” “k bro” “k” just because they think its funny and they’ve been doing it for years.

tsireya: gets up at the same time as ao’nung because their rooms are next to each other and his alarm is obnoxiously loud. has a whole skincare routine she religiously follows every morning, her bathroom is just stocked full with a variety of different products that she will use. she will make pancakes for herself and for ao’nung if he hasn’t eaten anything yet, and she always takes a pic to put it on her instagram highlights of all the pancakes she’s ever made. she also has her own horse but ao’nung usually tends to it for her so she doesn’t need to worry much.

⌲ N for No Cap (How up to date are they with today’s slang?)

neteyam: he’d know a lot of it because of lo’ak but would rarely use it. he speaks properly almost constantly, even over text. he does use abbreviations like wrud wya lmfao noyb stfu wsg stuff like that (if u didn’t understand any of that then ur just old i don't make the rules). If he’s dating sb that's a whole different story tho he’d probably send like 4 paragraphs professing his undying everlasting infinite love and passion for his s/o.

kiri: definitely knows all the words, all the insults, all the abbreviations. even more than lo’ak. would not use words like pop off queen or slay though because she thinks it doesn’t fit with her aesthetic. Her way of texting kinda mad tho cause she’ll text like “yo u got the math notes?” and then she’ll follow immediately with “Appreciate it, thanks.” with correct grammar and everyones so fed up with it. An even worse example is “Hi, what are you doing currently?” and then she’ll say “k cool” like wtf do you want, woman??

lo'ak: knows a lot and uses it in everyday conversation like he’s the type of person to say lol and lmao in real life. nothing special to say that you wouldn’t expect from a man of this caliber.

ao'nung and rotxo: had to combine these mfs for this one cause they’re like the same. they both like saying L and W over text but not irl cause it's kinda cringe. pretty normal when talking in real life but they do know all the slang. partially cause lo’ak will use a lot of it during lunch together.

tsireya: absolutely, she knows it all. she’s the most active on social media out of all the avatar teens, consistently uses new slang and introduces it to her friends. she’s the it girl, what more can i say?

HII!!! so like i said in my coments im doing an atla modern au! mainly focused on highschool shenanigans (all the teen chars end up in the same highschool 1 way or the other :3)

So mainly I think id like to ask ;, how would you go abt getting Azula to hate/be rivals(?) with the gaang in an au without bending or the avatar! ,same question with Zuko too tbh

info: Katara would be in Azulas grade (9th) and Sokka in Zukos (10th) , Aang is also in 9th grade but still 12 (child prodigy moment:3)

any ideas at all are highly appreciated :D

the way that i would go about it is having Katara and Azula be academic rivals, Katara is also known to be a prodigy like Azula, and in canon she’s the only one that could properly beat her.

i think having Katara be in some of her classes and routinely be as good or better than Azula at whatever it is they’re doing would push Azulas buttons enough to make Azula properly hate her, and therefore try to “take her down” (not literally just in a way to make Azula the best again) for Azulas’ own protection from Ozai and herself. and when nothing was working, Azulas’ hatred would spread to the rest of the gaang.

this could also work for her hating Aang as he’s the most prodigal of pretty much anyone, and Azula can’t handle being bested at anything ever.

and for Zuko there’s 2 ways you could probably go about it, if he’s still with Ozai, news of “those horrible degenerates who think they’re better than us” would get to Ozai somehow, and in an attempt to make him proud (and azula to maybe like him again like when they were kids), Zuko would form a similar rivalry.

but if Zuko is with Iroh, i’m not sure of the reasoning behind him getting kicked out, but i’m going to run with the assumption that he got kicked out for not being all that good at school and for being a disappointment shaming the family name yada yada, and he did something like in canon that was the breaking point of him being kicked to the curb.

if that’s the scenario, then Zuko would more than likely see Azulas rivalry and have a similar sort of rivalry with Sokka (less of a rivalry bc Sokka is math smart and Zuko is reading smart) and he would think that maybe if he beat them academically before Azula did maybe his dad would finally be proud of him and let him back home
