My Description of the AvA Stick Figures as Humans (Hoomans)
So, here is the description of what i think the main 5 stick figures would look like as humans (plus Rosie from my AvA fanfic on A03)
Orange - Has a pale ivory skin tone, messy medium light golden brown hair that's slightly spiky, green eyes, has a square body shape with a little pudge and he wears a plain t-shirt, with a green hoodie with orange on the inside, plain black trousers and trainers (sneakers).
Green - Has a ivory skin tone, short spiky medium brown hair, brown eyes, has a oval body with a bit of a tummy and he wears a black t-shirt with a game controller on it, a open dark orange hoodie dark green inside, headphones around his neck, plain black trousers with many pockets and trainers (sneakers).
Yellow - Has a sand skin tone, sandy blonde hair that's in a slick back and a strang of hair on his forehead, light blue eyes with glasses and freckles, trapezoid body shape and he wears a plain white t-shirt, a flannel in dark yellow and blue checker, plain black trousers and trainer (sneakers).
Blue - Has a limestone skin tone, wavy golden blonde hair that medium long to his neck, dark blue eyes, triangle shaped body with some deep hips and he wears a plain white t-shirt, skirt trousers and trainers (sneakers).
Red - Has a honey skin tone, short strawberry ginger hair with a messy fringe, grey blue eyes with a green tint, upside down triangle body shape with a small belly and he wears a plain white t-shirt with a pig on it, a hoodie that a mix of light purple and dark red, plain jeans and trainer (sneakers).
Rosie - Has a porcelean skin tone, brunette hair in a very short pixie cut, very light brown eyes with a green tint, has a baby body shape and usually wears a nappy (diaper) with rosegold baby onesie.
Well, that's all, i hope you like my AvA stick figures as hoomans and i'll see you all next time

BORDERLANDS 4- the lore so far
a post compiling all the tidbits from the trailers/descriptions, about everything we know about the story (so far).
wanted to make this post because i may be borderlands' biggest hater, but this new stuff looks really intriguing so far! call me optimistic but i'm definitely interested for now...
(speculation/theorizing involved here. i'm not actually 100% knowledgeable on all the lore but this is just what i'm gathering from it. if it turns out to be true then i called it here first <3)
so here's the timeline we know so far:
-> At the end of Borderlands 3, Elpis is crashing into Pandora. To save everyone (on both places), Lilith flies up and teleports Elpis away. Presumably, just like Sanctuary in BL2, she can't exactly control where it goes.
-> Where it happens to go is the planet of Kairos: a planet hidden in space- it's insinuated that the "protective barrier" surrounding the planet (made of glass?) turned it invisible. Or at least undetectable.
Tumblr media
-> This "revealed" Kairos to the universe. Elpis presumably has been pulled in and is now orbiting Kairos.
Tumblr media
-> Kairos is currently being controlled by "The Timekeeper." The Timekeeper is not a PERSON, but rather an Eridian Guardian. AKA... A Vault Monster.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-> This is explicitly stated in one of Nyriad's diary entries from BL3. She mentions the Timekeeper by name as an "Eridian Creation," in the likes of Graveward (BL3) and the Traveller (TFTBL). It's also obvious by the images above that it isn't Human- it has robotic limbs, floats, and seemingly harnesses/is connected to the Vault Gate behind it.
Tumblr media
-> The Timekeeper is described as a dictator obsessed with Perfect Order, furthering the idea that this hidden planet was in a perfect state of "Order," with only the Timekeeper + its "synthetic" army. Remnants of whatever Eridian Society created it, and hid it away, for whatever reason.
Tumblr media
-> Elpis crashing into Kairos, and breaking the barrier, has enraged the Timekeeper, who's planet is now visible to the galaxy. And a big hole in the ceiling of it's house. Damn.
-> It's confirmed there's a few years' time-skip between the crashing of Elpis and the start of the game. The SCAVS of Elpis (and bandits of Pandora most likely, however they hitched a ride) have now made their way to the surface of Kairos and are causing mayhem. They seem way more mechanical in nature than the last time we saw Elpis, but similar vibes. Very tech-y, robotic, etc. -> These bandits become their own faction known as "The Rippers," and their leader is a robot lady named Callis.
Tumblr media
-> Queen Callis is shown in the trailer to ALSO be not human (robot? something else? Kairos's influence, or Elpis tech? who knows.) But apparently she also has the power to control the bandits, through their masks. She puts the masks on them and their eyes turn red, matching hers. So it's possible she's just mind controlling every bandit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-> Anyways, it's a "robo-bandit" VS. "synthetic Eridian" civil war deal. The Timekeeper appears to be attempting to subjugate the entire planet again, especially based on all the "break free" wording of the teaser descriptions. Whether you're fighting WITH Callis's army or just as a third party, it appears the Vault Hunters are from Elpis (or, were on Elpis when it got yoinked at the very least). And they're trying to escape this planet. -> The last description does mention "cast of characters, new AND old," so it remains to be seen in what capacity old characters are involved. It IS a time-skip, so maybe Sanctuary finally tracked down Lilith's whereabouts and she's stranded on Elpis. Maybe Ava is an adult now and leading the Crimson Raiders. Maybe the whole "Timekeeper" business means there will be timeline fuckery- pulling alternate timeline versions of old characters, bringing back dead ones, who knows.
Tumblr media
-> (I'M PERSONALLY INCLINED TO BELIEVE that Sasha and Fiona will also play a role in this game? Because New Tales called specific attention to Sasha being in a different part of the galaxy unable to be found (hidden planet? wink wink?), and Fiona's talk of Sasha's anahatium pocketwatch, with the etched phrase "TIME HEALS ALL WOUNDS.")
Tumblr media
-> (Who knows if that is true, or what that really means. Just speculation here. I miss Sasha and Fiona, and they've been hyped up with BL3 Echoes, New Tales stuff, and even their own book. Give us the two best Borderlands characters back please.)
-> Last thing as an aside, it DOES show that we will be getting a Siren VH again. So she either needs to have Steele's unknown power, the Leech power, or some secret third thing. Maybe she isn't a real siren at all. The device on her arm could either be a way to REPLICATE a siren's power (like Anu, making her a "fake siren") or possibly as a way to enhance/contain the Leech power, like Tyreen alludes to in BL3. Interested to find out.
Tumblr media
TLDR: we're finally getting the Eridian War plotline! They didn't forget guys! AND it directly involves Elpis, like the game where we first learned about the Eridian War!
Synthetic "Eridian" army led by a Vault Guardian/Monster, THE TIMEKEEPER, vs. the robotic bandit army, the Rippers, led by QUEEN CALLIS. Time-skip again (intrigued to see how long this time. It's canonically been at LEAST two years since BL3.) New + Old characters. New Eridian planet, like Nekrotafeyo. 4 New VH's, either FROM Elpis, or wayward travelers who accidentally crashed onto Kairos.
“Early 2025” gameplay reveal, unspecified 2025 release date.

Burrow's End is an absolute masterpiece.
In the span of ten episodes Aabria and Co. weave an exciting and emotional adventure story about a family of sentient stoats. It delivers huge laughs, interesting societal criticism, remarkably emotional and well-acted scenes and concludes with a series of epilogue scenes that feel appropriate for each character, some heartfelt and subdued and others bigger than life and all the funnier for it.
Siobhan and Izzy play the perfect pair of siblings. They fight and argue but they also love each other. Jaysohn (Siobhan) looks up to Lila (Izzy) and believes she's the smartest stoat in the world (and by the end she probably is) and Lila hypes up her little brother's athletic skills. They both fully embodied these kids and I could watch them do fun stuff for more episodes. Give me a version of Saved by the Bell with them. Stoat by the Bell.
Brennan and Rashawn, playing sisters, also knock it outta the park, showing a more mature sibling dynamic. Brennan portrays Tula as the quintessential overtired single mother of excitable kids, and Rashawn as younger sister Viola straddles a very interesting line of being intimidating to outsiders but very much more naive and looking to her older sister when she starts a family.
Jasper as Thorn, a guy everyone just lets be a cult leader because he really wanted to, is fantastic. His is a difficult role as the only non-blood relative. Jasper plays Thorn with such real humanity of a guy in over his head and letting his ambition wife call the shots, but also one who agrees with her goal, really loves her and has moments of real menace. He has some very funny scenes, his big speech is perfect, and I just enjoy him.
Erika is wonderful. They play the epitome of generational trauma as many have said but as much trauma as Ava has, she is also loving and willing to learn. The fact Erika took this adversarial role is incredible. The tense dramatic scene primarily between Ava, Tula and Viola is amazing. They act their asses off and make hard choices that I imagine are difficult even for such an experienced player.
Aabria's DMing always feels fun. She doesn't get bogged down in the rules. She knows them. She plays by them. But as a master, she knows how and when to break them too. Her seasons on Dimension 20 have all had a tenseness, a particular edge to them that can give me anxiety during dramatic scenes between two characters. It always feel like one of her NPCs may say something devastating and the tension between characters reaches really thrilling heights. This is present in other seasons, but I don't think anyone does it as well as she does. The first season of hers to have battle maps, Aabria really swung for the fences and gave us some of the wildest maps to date.
Shout out to Carlos Luna's voice acting. He did an incredible job. And shout out to the whole crew who have put together one of the best seasons of D20. They keep finding ways to build on what's come before and they should be commended for it.
Dimension 20 is most successful when the concept is very streamlined. They don't do huge 100 episode campaigns capable of handling huge winding complex narrative, but short focused D&D stories, which is why many of the Side Quests have been so fantastic. They embody this philosophy most clearly, but it's apparent in the most beloved Intrepid Heroes seasons as well—John Hughes/High Fantasy, Game of Thrones/Candyland, Retrofuturism, Film Noir but in a Brain... Burrow's End fits this perfectly. It's streamlined concept paired with great storytellers and great chemistry sets it up to be a smash hit before it begins. And goddamn does it deliver.
Thanks Stupendous Stoats!

cassandra cain for the character ask game? :0
For this ask game!
@birdiedoesdc asked for Cass too!
My first impression: Autism allegory. Also way too OP, she’d fix everyone’s problems.
My impression now: Wow, if the Batfamily ever acts like a cohesive nuclear family unit, that girl will develop Eldest Daughter Syndrome before you can even blink. Also, she is epic and human and I can empathize with her even though she’s not actually an autism allegory. Although I have to write her out sometimes because she would solve my fanfic’s central problem, I have to do that for everyone sometimes. And overall, Cass causes just as many interpersonal problems as she fixes.
Favorite thing about that character: She’s great at reading people and yet not too good at emotions. I think it emphasizes the plexiglass barrier between her and the world—she can see, but never quite touch.
Least favorite thing: Her brain was “fixed” by a telepath so she could understand language. And I get it, I do. Scientifically, Cass’s language deprivation was probably too severe for her to naturally learn spoken language in her late teens. Without some sort of magical intervention, she wouldn’t learn to speak, and that would make it difficult to narrate from her POV. But it still feels icky.
Favorite line/scene: Her stating she’s loyal to the Bat symbol, rather than Bruce. I think it emphasizes the clarity of her moral compass.
Tumblr media
Favorite interaction that character has with another: Same as above.
A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Dick Grayson. I think their views on love and empathy are very interesting to compare and contrast, and their fanon versions could bond over eldest daughter syndrome. Plus I think they both have a history of challenging and fighting Bruce that’s really interesting. And finally, they both have the expectation on their shoulders to be a better version of Batman—kinder, stronger, brighter. Perfect.
Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Ava Orlova from Forever Red, which is an obscure Black Widow YA novel. Their personalities are nothing alike, but they have the backstory and vibes. El from Stranger Things for a character people are more likely to know.
A headcanon about that character: She has a very distinct but unplaceable accent when she speaks due to her lack of practice coordinating her mouth. Mostly because I have a slight mystery accent, and I think Cass should have one too.
A song that reminds of that character: People Watching by Conan Grey
An unpopular opinion about that character: Cass should be a Gordon, not a Wayne. Yes, she is a Bat, through and through. But I think civilian-wise, she should be attached to Barbara, not Bruce.

sooo bound band au when
Who said it was gonna be an au
Honestly though, most of the bound characters are giving me orchestra energy, so I feel like a Band AU would be like… a band kid AU if yk what I mean. Like, everyone would be in high school with braces and hormones and trying to find a course to fill their art requirement that wouldn’t absolutely bore them. Yk?
So that being said, here’s the instruments I’d think each Bound character would play and why;
Armor - Vocals <redacted>
Ashril - Funky Roadrunner guy is giving me either some random instrument no one has ever heard of before or keyboard and there is no in between for me personally.
Avalon - Drums. I know I always give the stabby people percussion instruments, but they’re just really good for helping to work out negative emotions okay??
Cosie - flute
Elwood - Canon Elwood would not learn an instrument unless Mojave somehow gaslit him into thinking it would be useful. So fanon Elwood would know piano, cause it’s a classical instrument so it fits the vibes and it’s also one of the most versatile so I think we wouldn’t have to bend Elwood’s character too much to make it fit.
Erin - Erin gives me cello vibes. I feel like the Avicane in general ooze kinda classical instruments, and Erin feels like someone who would want something like a bass but a little lighter and more based on melody. So Cello.
Gaverin - Singer. That bird gives me lead singer vibes so hard. If she isn’t in the front of the stage strutting his newest designs and singing their little heart out like a bird version of Chappel Roan, what exactly are they doing?
Marcel - Viola. It’s just- mmmm. Slightly deeper violin that fits the human range really well… it just screams Marcel to me idk.
Mojave - lead singer/rhythm guitar/songwriter. This is just canon lol
Pietro - Percussion. Not drums like Ava, but specifically like orchestral percussion. I’m talking everything from the huge bass drums to the triangle. I think while Virgil was learning violin Pietro signed up for orchestra too and the director was just like, “here kid, hit this” and Pietro went wild. They’re probably the best percussionist anyone’s seen in a really long time, but she doesn’t really talk about it/show off that much cause they want Virgil to be able to shine. (Guys I’m normal about the birdthers I swear)
Rune - I feel like Rune’s a guitar guy. Like, their vibes are chill and laid back enough to fit it, plus I feel like they’d have a really fun time inventing like pedals and stuff to make the guitar sound different depending on the song and stuff.
Sylph - Triangle. And Kazoo. And singing (badly) /lh
Taliesin - Okay, okay, my thought for Taliesin is that whenever someone asks if they play an instrument they always say something that like no one knows how to play, like Basoon or the Oboe. And then if someone ever asks her to, he’s just like “oh no, sorry, the stars aren’t in the right alignment you see”. And it’s cause they don’t actually know how to play any instruments cause they’re a lyin’ cheatin’ little— anyway (/j we love Tal in this house and they probably play something that’s totally against their aesthetic but easy to learn like Uke or smth)
Vast - Vast plays Clarinet. It’s classic, it’s breathy, it’s something the symphony I mean Avicane would teach. It just feels and sounds right for him. Bonus idea: his sister played the flute and he picked up Clarinet cause he wanted to be in the same section as her
Virgil - Violin. Again, this is just canon. But I feel like Virgil wouldn’t be like the best violinist ngl. In my head he’s like 3rd chair but Pietro always comes up to him after concerts and is like “THATS MY BROTHER!!” And like glares at people until they applaud for him. Virgil knows this. And is incredibly embarrassed by the whole thing, but it’s still kinda endearing.
So yeah, those are my instrument/Band AU thoughts. Do with them what you will

7. To shut them up 🫠
Without the burden of duty, Beatrice is prone to sleeping in, Ava usually the first to wake up, only to burrow into Beatrice’s side until she’s ready to greet the day. Today is different. Ava stretches to find the other half of the bed cool, empty, and grumbles at her misfortune. So, dejectedly, Ava crawls from the bed, pausing just long enough to steal Beatrice’s button up from the night before, doing up just enough buttons to give the impression of modesty.
They’ve been here long enough for Ava to memorize which wooden panels creak beneath her feet, and which path is silent as she slips through the hall. Beatrice is at the table, notebook in hand, and Ava swears she’s gotten the jump on her when she sees the smallest inclination of Beatrice’s head. “I made coffee. I haven’t made breakfast. I was waiting to see if you wanted to eat here or grab something at that cafe around the corner.”
“Fuck.” Ava deflates, realizing the game is lost.
“Language,” Beatrice hums, lacking her previous reproach. It’s hard to muster the same level of admonishment now. Especially when Ava can recall with perfect clarity, Beatrice cursing beneath her just the night before.
Ava slips her arms around Beatrice, smiles when a hand lifts to wrap around her arm, and Beatrice tips her head back to rest against Ava’s chest. “What gave me away?”
“The shirt,” Beatrice pauses, turning to press a kiss to Ava’s forearm. “And I heard you huffing when you realized I’d already gotten up.”
Ava can’t help the scoff that escapes her. Beatrice’s smile shifts, devolves into something wider, maybe even bordering on smug, and Ava can’t help the way her heart seems to miss a beat in her chest. This version of Beatrice, lighter and flirtatious, is something Ava’s not sure she can ever get used to.
It’s easy to loosen Beatrice’s hold, removing the notebook from her hands and dropping it dramatically on the table behind them, before slipping into Beatrice’s lap, her hands coming to rest atop Beatrice’s shoulders. “So you’re saying I should’ve come out here naked? If that’s what you wanted all you have to do is ask Bea.”
And Beatrice has changed, but she’s only human, and Ava’s had just a bit more practice. Her cheeks are crimson, her own hands having come to rest on Ava’s hips, thumbs just brushing above the waistband of Ava’s boxers, flex against her skin. “You asked what gave you away. I was just– I’m not– there’s nothing wrong with–”
Ava lets her ramble for a moment. Enjoys the flush in her cheeks, and the frantic edge in her tone, before she takes mercy on her leaning down to press their lips together.
Another change. It used to take Beatrice a moment to catch up. The final dregs of her vows, and habit a difficult thing to break. Somewhere in the normalcy of their shared lives that had changed.
It’s Ava who’s left flustered, as one of Beatrice’s hands slips along her back coming to rest at the base of her neck deepening the kiss. Beatrice who nips at Ava’s bottom lip, licking into her mouth before retreating leaving her dazed, chest heaving.
“You never answered my question,” Beatrice's tone is steady, and it's unfair really how easy it is for Beatrice to reorient herself.
Ava blinks, tries to think about anything other than the feel of Beatrice’s thumb brushing along her hip, or the firm press of her palm, now resting just above the halo. “You asked a question?”
Beatrice smirks, not totally dissimilar from the way she looks just before she pins Ava when they spar. Her hand slips from beneath Ava’s shirt and finds its way to trace her thumb along the curve of Ava’s jaw. Checkmate. Ava can practically hear it, when she tilts her head into Beatrice’s touch. Letting out a breathy sigh as her skin tingles under Beatrice’s gentle touch.
“Did you want to go to the cafe-” Beatrice’s voice trails off, leaning forward to brush her lips against Ava’s neck. “Or did you want to stay in?”
Ava tries to formulate an answer. Tries to ignore the pounding in her chest, or the heat pulsing through her, as Beatrice presses her lips along the curve of Ava’s neck. It’s only when she stops again, Ava’s fingers somehow having tangled in the hair at the base of her neck, an eyebrow arched expectantly that Ava remembers she’s meant to have an answer.
“Honestly, who needs breakfast?”
“Well actually breakfast is the most important meal–”
Ava only feels a little bad when she cuts off what she’s certain would’ve been a very informative lecture on the science behind eating breakfast, pulling Beatrice’s lips firmly against her own.

Do you like to read? (Would you like the text description? It would take a while, though.)
Good, now read some more.
There is a rather popular theory that Alan was bullied during his 2009 tormentor phase, but that is a rather cop out way to make the "Alan was never evil" narrative works by shifting the blame to someone else.
This version of Alan is never bullied, but he was under a lot of small, relatable stress that really piled up, and his family wasn't doing so well financially. His status as a human means he doesn't have a dramatically traumatized backstory.
The early Internet, the unknown frontier. Violences was all the rage; stickpage, new ground, mini clips, Happy Tree Friends, and animations of stick figures fighting to bloody death with flaming chainsaw. I was in a computer camp when they put The very first AvA on the projector during lunch.
I don't think our generation were traumatized, but rather desensitized. It's not horrific, it is funny, it is cool.
My take is that, he was not quite comprehend what kind of damage he inflicted on something he viewed as "fake", not really alive. They might felt pain, but that was a pain not worth caring for. The empathy thing I mentioned.
One thing I find weird about AvA 4 was that TSC is clearly sentient and can "talk" through window dialogue boxes and Facebook comments. Why did Alan only stop when he talked through his own text?
This version of Alan is aware that they are all sentient. He knew victim and TCO hate his gut. He did not care TSC was sentient, he was willing to kill him to not lose another computer. Only that he realized TSC is "useful" for art that he decided to give the orange guy a chance.
The cure of ignorance is to actually spend time with someone or something you have judged to be lesser. By actually interacting with the gang, he mellows out and cares for them. Him being a mature adult helps too, but he was watching 4 stick figures fighting just before AvA4.
That is my take on "Alan was never evil"
