I know this is literally just for narrative tension and comedy respectively. But I'm once more being confronted with the fact that Kenji's rope setup on his climbing course doesn't make sense. In regards to when/how it catches slack.

When Darius first slips he slides a significant distance. Enough it is legitimately scary.

But when Kenji throws Darius he loses no height at all.

This variance in tension doesn't make a lot of sense for a self belay system if it's taking up the slack as you climb like this seems to be?

Now I've only done climbing with a belaying partner where they take up slack manually, not top rope soloing like this. But every time I think about this for too long I lose it a little. Like either it should lower gently if it was an auto belay, or it should catch you full stop as it takes up the tension, but it shouldn't be doing both?

The fact that Kenji doesn't explain to Darius how to get down always drives me a bit crazy too but I'm not gonna get into that.

A while ago my friend @rice-n-honey and I joked about setting up an experiment where we could test the logistics of John and Arthur’s… situation, and today we decided to actually put it into action by trying out an escape room.

I (right) was John and Rice was Arthur, and we established some rules to make it as accurate to the podcast as possible.

1. Arthur is blindfolded

2. John’s right arm is tied to Arthur’s left

3. John is not allowed to drag Arthur around, just direct him on where to go

4. John is not allowed to use his left hand, only their shared hand (the tied one)

5. Only Arthur is allowed to communicate with the game runner via the walkie talkie

Needless to say, we did not manage the escape room in time, but I’d say it was a noble attempt given our movement speed and dexterity was quartered, and our vision was halved. And it was it was a 2-8 person escape room. The bottom line is we both sympathize with John and Arthur greatly because it was a struggle.

If anyone else is deranged enough to try this, please get back to us with your results. Because science, or something.

Anyway, this was tons of fun, and much thanks to the game runner for putting up with our antics.

How the fuck do i turn off the automatic translator on youtube. I don't want to see badly translated english title in italian. I don't want to hear a mechanic voice translate audio from french into english. I am watching stuff in other languages so i can practice with them. And even if i needed translations i would look for them myself because ai translations suck so bad. I didn't turn on these translations they just arrived like the fucking plague one they. I am going to hit someone with a chair. Get them away from me.

When vampires are portrayed as mainly preying on women that's so unrealistic like I'm sorry but they're too careful especially around strange men. Dudes are much easier. You could literally lurk in a bush in the park at night and call out "whoa look at this fucked up looking squirrel" and have 3 grown men climb in immediately
