💛-How many languages does your oc speak? What language(s) are they learning, if any?

His first language is english, however he can also hold a conversation in Croatian, as his father taught him. Not 100% sure if this counts but Lucien also speaks ASL, as he has selective mutism that renders him completely unable to speak for what can be very long periods of time (He didn't speak the first two months on the island, he mainly communicated through written notes as well as ASL with Ben and sometimes Brooklynn, who were the only two on the island who also knew ASL. This is part of why Lucien grew so close to them specifically.)

🤔-What are some of your oc's quirks/mannerisms?

As Lucien is autistic, he does have many stims, as well as rare tics. Most of these are physical movements, thibgs like rapid hand movements, blinking, etc. However he does have a few vocal ones as well, mainly being mimicking, mouth clicking, and random outbursts. This actually helped get him his job, as he learned to mimic many dinosaur calls by mouth. Some other mannerisms he has are mimicking the mannerisms of those around him (especially Ben, which is funny because Ben does the same thing, so it turns into a long game of Mannerism Telephone), playing with his hair (honestly that's part of why he keeps it so long), and remembering very specific details about those he cares about (to the point that some of the details are so minor that the person in question forgets they even told him)

I'm going to be honest here. I joined tumblr after @theslayerbrother recommended me here to post my fanfic stories and interact more. I've only been getting few likes and a comment on a rare day (palaxy with call the shots etc, dead end content.) Today I was meant to post bleak horizon, but I felt my writing game was weak today (who'd want another mind journey and storyline movement bit?) And interest is low. Would've thought the brooklynn Would've turned heads in the jurassic show fandom as I wanted to show caring aspects pre nublar events and a light during the orphanage bit of her years.

However, as I cannot realistically hold a job, I feel talents and friend/potential friend contact wane (secondary school was hell, but still had lovely memories, probably lost to time by those people as who'd remember a shyish autistic spectrum kid with an idea constantly evolving, who dislikes sports, not worked out in a gym since 2019, and now has panic attacks and regrets that don't help his movement.) And isolated when my father doesn't take me to try and essentially spend on something or catch pokemon. I even hate loafers and tracksuits due to the aura around them, so I started getting turtlenecks and jeans, and a distain for trainers. I still feel alone in my religion in which I live in the midway because I accept the good and bad, and our controversies and those mocking us but make funny scenes etc. Friends probably come from belief, not real friendship. Always sat against the wall outside listening to myself, never really entering a room or around people my age. I mean, my physiology is weird: touch me and I whine and wash it away or react as well, but sometimes hug people based on emotional state, regardless of apparent post covid OCD.

Basically, no real interactions with people except suakemi (a rare soul himself.) And a hilda one (after the previous one......passed at 20.) Or interactions on my fanfics, so I'm conflicted to either hope and continue or give up after O.A Reckoning and isolate myself as I'm just a lone person who'll comment a nice sentence or idea because I can't really do anything else.

So, another emotional post. I surprise myself sometimes.

no but like fr i know im biased (jurassic franchise fan and dinosaur nerd so im somewhat easy to please) and its made more for kids but camp cretaceous is unironically just a good show actually.

the plottwists and story were good and enjoyable

the character development was fantastic, like no joke the main six aka nublar six are unironically a great cast. they grow over the 5 seasons and they grow realistically, kenji is a great example for that like from going from a lazy, spoiled rich kid to someone who genuinely loves his friends and does his best to protect them is so nice to see

and the nublar six are also all just. friends. theres not two or three groups that kinda hang out, theyre all actually friends, they all get to bond with eachother, if theres tasks or somthing its always a different pair/group doing things, they all have strengths and weaknesses, they talk out their issues, theyre all ride or die for eachother. theyre an actually, great found family group its awesome man.

ough and talking about the relationships and character growth developments i gotta mention sammy and yaz here, because those two had suuuuch a good development in both departments. like they slowly become friends, then best friends, and then, and i know how this sounds, happens some ridiculous type of devotion to eachother during the scorpios rex disaster like yaz ran through that storm with a venomous, malicious murder hybrid on the lose to get an antidote to save a girl shes known for less than six months. like. okay. okay. my god and you see them get closer and closer and can tell theres more happening (like the "youre probably the only reason i have any feelings" line) even though they dont adress it properly until like episode 8 of 12. in the last season. and when they do get together it just makes sense and feels 100% organic. like. theyre written amazingly. 0 complaint. amazing. love them so so much. they better be happy in the sequal show releasing this year.

my biggest and only complaint is the fucking brooklynn/kenji thing like where did his crush suddenly come from. genuinely feels like they just needed a token het couple, threw that crush in there out of the blue and then went on from there trying to develope it. and like. ngl but if they wanted to write brooklynn as oblivious to her own feelings then it didnt work. it gave the vibe of her having 0 interesst before the writers suddenly realized for a token het couple they need her to return his feelings 😭💀

all that aside. the actual confrontations with dinosaurs and co. were all good too honestly, like for me it captured the feeling and suspense the original jurassic park movies gave me with scenes like rexy escaping, the velociraptors in the kitchen or the velociraptor chase in the third movie in particular. very very great. big shoutout to the writers and animators.

like dont get me wrong i love the jurassic world movies too but its. uhm. a bit too much action-y you know?
