me and my friends found an autistic beast last night

these are the best pictures we could get because she kept running around saying dog hi to everyone on the street lol. She is the cutest little thing and when we sat down she would run up to us get a few pettings, then run up to two little girls who would release a shriek of terror then drink a little water from the fountain. She repeated that like 7 times and it was the funniest thing she would just run around constantly and it was great, she followed us around for a bit, but not like walking next to us, more like orbiting around us and woofing at everything lol. We couldn't agree on a name so we just called her Autistic Beast

all your stuffed animals love you. they're not sad if they're in a box, or on the floor, or not held/played with as much. they understand. they know that you might need another stuffie more, or that you don't have enough space. they're just happy to be with you, and if you ever give them away, they'll be happy there too. stuffies are for comfort. they understand. they love you too. it's okay.

Don't laugh at people or mock people who are "childish". People are allowed to like things that are considered "childish". Toys, kids cartoons, anything like that can be a valuable source of comfort for the people who like them. It's important to have things in life that make you happy, and without them it gets miserable. Wether that thing is stuffed animals or cooking or writing lyrics, what's important is that others don't ridicule and belittle them for it. There shouldn't be such judgement for the things that make people happy.

i love my plushies and toys so much i love being surrounded by little joy-filled objects who love me and i love them too and living in the middle of a little village (my room) filled with little friends (my toys) and i feel so safe with them and they will always be here for me just like i will always have a place for these little buddies i love.

nobody understands the true obsession I have with the double long nose elephant fish- I make my friends go to the aquarium with me at least once a year just to see him. my king. my silly little guy. he is my everything.

i dunno if anyone other than me needs to hear this but your stuffed animals love you!

even if they don't sleep in bed with you every night! even if you don't play with them very often! even if they fall on the floor, or you squish them accidentally! even if you forget them in your bag overnight!

they all love you even if you've been spending a lot of time with one specific one and not as much with them! they know that different stuffies help bring you different comfort and they love you and love when you feel happy and safe!

your stuffed animals are your friends and they feel loved by you and they love you too :)

How Stuffed Animal Companies are Hurting AuDHD People

Ok so aneurotypical people love stuffed animals right? I don't understand why so many companies that make stuffed animals insist on hurting us with cheap felt bits and scratchy bits of glitter??

And then on the other hand, there are a lot of stuffed animals that just sorta feel stiff and can't be hugged?? Like they look cute, but if you try to move them too much they break and... ugh.

So some online autism communities and I have been working on sorta improving stuffed animals with these little Borbs (my hyperfixation rn), that are super soft and squishy and don't literally hurt you when you sleep with one.

And even Kickstarter is supporting us by saying its a "project we love," which I think is pretty amazing! Please check it out if you want to help support us in making the stuffed animal world a little more accepting of AuDHD people!

laios has very quickly become dear to me not just because he's an autistic protagonist but because his autism is itself one of the reasons his party has an edge over others. though we see him struggle in social situations, his special interest makes him hypercompetent in the context of dungeon survival. i'm aware that's not a NEW observation on him but i was impressed that he even used his special interest to successfully solve a crisis that relied on noticing social cues- he was able to pick out the impostors bc he honed in on the small discrepancies in their attitudes toward monsters. if that isn't weaponizing your autism, i don't know what is
