You can’t pretend to care about a minority and then 3 hours later have one of your closest allies use a salute that’s so closely and intrinsically tied with the group that tried to eradicate them.

Ive prayed so many times today for safety and protection. I shouldn’t have to worry about wether or not me, my family, my brothers and sisters and friends and loved ones will be safe for being queer, disabled, or Jewish. And the fact that I do says more about this man that anything else ever could.

This presidency will be so much worse than the first and I wouldn’t be surprised if he seizes total control of the nation within the coming months. This isn’t unprecedented. The Nazis were voted into power, too. They didn’t take over by force. The people of Germany let them in because they felt they had no other choice to repair their dying nation.
