Sure, Bucky's rich family only came up in summertime, but they were off to college soon and they'd be together forever, right? Not quite. These days, Bucky's back in town for the summer and it turns out, some hurts—and firsts—are hard to get over. ... There was something venomous and fiery chasing itself through Steve’s veins, choking the life out of his common sense. He put a hand on Bucky’s waist, small and tight, shifting with Bucky’s quick breathing and he squeezed, trying to ground himself. It didn’t work. There was hardly any space left between them. Bucky’s hair brushed the tip of his nose. It was citrus and sweat and like a gut punch of memory. “We could see if I’m any better now,” Steve said. “I’ve had a little more practice since then.”

Summary:  Post-Winter Soldier, Bucky goes to ground to figure out who he is, and who he’s been. But for Bucky, remembering is like living it all for the first time.

Steve, determined to find him at any cost, learns just how far he’ll go to undo the mistakes he made — mistakes that cost Bucky everything.

Together again, with the help of Clint and Sam, they go on the run to keep Bucky out of the hands of the many groups looking to capture him. Both Steve and Bucky have to learn to live with their pasts, and figure out their feelings for each other, to create a path toward the future.

A story of Steve and Bucky finding themselves again, and finding each other at last.

The Good Shit™️: Stucky Edition

Hey guys! I’m back on my bullshit again! My followers must have noticed that I have a lot more Marvel and MCU content on my blog this year. That’s because some friends have unfortunately got me into Marvel, and therefore my followers suffer lol. Anyways, if you have been keeping up with my assorted fanfiction rec posts, whenever a new fandom takes over my life, I read a lot of fanfiction, so here is the Marvel (aka stucky) fic rec edition! You may notice that these are all either one shots or complete fics. I can’t commit to incomplete fics anymore. I just can’t. Review:

You all know that I’m a huge fan of a combination of funny and sexy and that is what I present before you today. This fic is that perfect mix of humor and smutty-ness that makes me giggle with happiness.

Bucky is hilarious as the annoyed (but not really annoyed) boyfriend. I loved him playing Steve like a fiddle and even more than that, how smug he was knowing that he could play Steve like that. And his aversion to Steve’s cargo shorts is super funny and I love how focused his hatred it even when things start getting a little steamier. There’s no actual smut in this but there is a lot of Steve trying to sweet talk his way into Bucky’s yoga pants and I’d say it definitely qualifies as a precursor sexy times.

It’s also super awesome to see Steve acting like his physical age. Now that’s not to say that I’m tired of the guys acting like the grumpy old men they are inside because I will never get bored with that dynamic, but seeing them act essentially like modern dudes was a new twist I greatly enjoyed.

Also, who’d have thought the idea of a bro-ed out Steve Rogers could be strangely adorable? I think it was the description of ‘duckling fuzz’ hair that got me. I fucking love that as a description for Steve’s hair and I cannot tell you why but it is how it is.

The podfic, courtesy of the always fabulous quietnight, is fantastic. The production quality is amazing and we all know how much I love quietnight’s voice characterizations. Steve in this is particularly awesome to me because you can feel the bro-ness coming through your headphones. And I will never tire of quietnight’s Bucky voice, it’s by far one of my favorite characterizations. The addition of Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions’ is also an amazing touch.

So to conclude my ramblings, if you aren’t a podfic person, at least do yourself the favor of reading the fic but I would totally recommend giving this podfic a try because I think you would really enjoy it. For all you podfic lovers out there, you’ve probably already listened to this awesome work but why not give it a re-listen?

In addition to the mods, we’ve got a whole discord server full of people happy to share ideas, help unravel plot points, and generally commiserate with the horrible experience of dragging words out of your brain and onto a page. Artists, after claims you’ll also have access to the discord server, where you can share ideas, references, and WIPS with the other participants!
