Girls Night With Copia

    The Ghoulettes are a force to be reckoned with.

    They’re as ferocious as they’re caring and no one would dare say ‘no’ to their asks, lest they say goodbye to their ability to walk the next day. Take that how you will…

    So, when Cumulus bumped into a very stressed looking Frater – his eye paint doing nothing to hide his tiredness, or the crow’s feet that seemed to have mutated into that of ravens – she declared a Girl’s Night was in order. And Copia would never say no, even if he wanted to.

    Copia found himself outside the Ghoulettes’ shared room that night, paint scrubbed off, in his pyjamas and a bag of wine bottles in hand as per usual - for each of the girls’ own tastes. Cirrus welcomed him in and Sunshine declared she would go first. Each Ghoulette had a role for their pamper sessions after all…

    Copia took his shirt off and hopped into their massive nest, face down and waiting for his masseuse.

    Sunshine popped the cap off of one of her jars of massage oils, infused with the herbs she can grow with her Earth affinity, and used her Fire affinity to help heat it up on her hands. Copia wouldn’t flinch when those hands would start roaming along his back, only relax. If he was a Ghoul, he knows he would start purring up a storm right about now. The girls were more than used to his groans of relief as Sunny expertly worked each knot from his muscles, and lifted more strain than he knew he was carrying. The Multi Ghoulette had long discovered that Copia carries his stress in his neck and between his shoulders and focuses most of her attentions there, and sometimes she even manages to crack a few joints while she’s at it.

    When Copia flips over, she gets to work massaging his front too. All along his arms and his plush stomach, putting some more pressure to her hands as she passes over his chest to provide some comfort like a weighted blanket- as if he wasn’t already relaxed enough anyway.

    The way she always declares Copia done was when she would lean over and kiss the tip of his nose with a giggle.

     “You feeling better, C?” She asked, smoothing back Copia’s hair, her own bouncy curls hitting him in the face a bit.

    “Much better. Amazing as always, solare.” He replied with a smile.

    He slowly sits up and stretches, feeling about ten years younger and back in the start of his Cardinal days.

    “Me next!” Aurora excitedly announced, bouncing on her heels as she waits for Copia to come over.

    Aurora is a lady and she keeps her claws sharp and pristine. Early on in her days topside, she took online nail art classes and is now a fully-fledged and qualified nail technician. She has boxes of polishes and equipment in with her belongings but tonight she only has out what she needs.

    At her little workbench, she has her files, polishes, curing lamps and, of course, a glass of wine. Aurora likes a sparkling zinfandel and it seemingly was the inspiration for her colour scheme tonight.

    Copia sat with his hands in bowls to soak off what little remained of his last Rory-cure, as the pack had taken to calling them, and talked through her plan.

    “So, your pinky, pointer and ring fingers are all going to be this colour,” she said as she showed off a shimmering bottle whose colour matched the pale, rosy pink of her tipple, “and then your thumb and middle are going to be a darker pink and I’m going to draw a pentagram in the shimmer, and some cool swirly shit. Kinda like what comes out of summoning portals.”

    “Sounds perfect, my love.” Copia smiled. He’d never say no to any of Rory’s designs and in the event he doesn’t like the look, he wears his gloves in public anyway. Although that hasn’t happened yet. Copia always loves his newest Ghoulette’s artistry and always feels more confident wearing it under his leather every day.

    Sunshine, now having her hands free, got to enjoy her glass of muscat alongside Cumulus’ own Sauvignon Blanc and Cirrus’ merlot. When Copia gets to his tall Air Ghoulette, he’ll finally get a glass too.

    Aurora focuses hard as she does Copia’s nails; making sure to file them to the length and shape he likes before applying some oil that smells absolutely incredible and he knows Dewdrop has tried to drink on more than a few occasions.

    When they’re both happy, Aurora will get to painting them. Using the best base coat she has and making sure not to flood Copia’s cuticle before curing the gel polish under the UV lamps and then starting to paint the colour and designs. After the top coat’s set, she spends a good 5 minutes having Copia pose his hands so she can take pictures for her ever-expanding portfolio.

    Then Copia hops back onto the nest, now clear of Sunny’s massage oils, and puts his head in Cumulus’ lap, looking up at her.

    “Hey, sugar,” She coos, “You got anything I need to look at today?”

    Cumulus’ facials were sought-after commodities that so few ever got. She was a full-on skin care guru who could easily craft up bespoke skincare routines in her sleep, knowing what each ingredient does and who needs what product in what order.

    “Ah, I have no complaints, cara.” Copia said, already closing his eyes as Cumulus’ cool hands got to work analysing his face. Copia wasn’t quite sure of the benefit of certain things, but he trusted his Air Ghoulette, and it all felt nice anyway.

    She painted on face masks and gently washed them off, doing specific ones on different areas of his face. She did a blackhead peel that always felt strange but Copia was long-used to the sensation. She always paid special attention to the skin on Copia’s top lip and around his eyes that were usually always painted as it often got dried out from the near-constant product wear. It used to be a concern for his whole face when he was Papa and wore his skull paint, and she was always in charge of helping him wash away all the paint and take care of his skin afterwards.

    She glided cool massage globes across his face, and used a gua sha too. She rubbed in toners and serums and cleansers and moisturisers until Copia was sure her magic had managed to de-age him.

    “Fresh as a daisy.” She said with a kind smile as she finished applying the last of the products.

    “Grazie, Lu.” Copia said with an equally kind grin as his Air Ghoulette took off the hairband he’d had on and helped smooth back his hair again.

    “You’re very welcome, C-bear.” She said with a boop to his nose as she got up.

    Copia sat up in the nest, and Cirrus sat next to him, a glass of merlot in hand and one she gave to her summoner.

    “Thank you, Cirrus.” Copia said as the taller Ghoulette shifted to be right beside him, ready for her turn in the Copia-Pampering-And-Destressing-Carousel.

    “Thank me later. Now, tell me how being Frater Imperator is treating you.” She said with a mischievous smirk.

    Cirrus was infamously the Ministry’s gossip monger. Any tiny crumb of a story she would eat right up and add it to her ever-growing bank of knowledge. As she went around the Siblings, getting her tales and rumours, she discovered a talent she had. She had this incredible ability to pick people’s brains and draw out just about anything she wanted. Amazing news for her love of chatter and tales, even better for her pack. She often used her power for good, and used it to draw out what’s been stressing people. Even if they don’t want help, no one will ever deny how amazing it always feels to get their burdens out in the open.

    Copia never liked to talk about his problems, preferring rather to be there for his flock and care for them like any good Clergy leader should. But, as Cirrus often reminded him, the Ghouls can take care of themselves, so Copia doesn’t need to have that front with them. And so, with his wine in hand, Cirrus picked his brains, worded her questions very carefully and got Copia to admit to things that he didn’t even know where weighing on him.

    “And now you can thank me.” Cirrus said as Copia finished pouring out his heart, and Aurora poured more wine into his glass.

    “Ay, grazie mille, Cir.” Copia said, leaning into the arm that Cirrus had around him, her kind eyes, blue like frosty mornings, lighting up at being bale to help.

    With Copia feeling thoroughly destressed and spoiled by his girls, they all piled onto the nest and snuggled, just catching up and laughing as they drank their respective wines.

    “What are we watching tonight?” Cumulus said after a while.

    “Love Actually?” Aurora suggested.

    “We watched that last time.” Cirrus laughed.

    “It’s Christmas, Cirrus, have some festive cheer!” Sunshine defended her fellow Multi.

    “Fine, what about The Holiday then?” Cirrus said.

    “Oooo, yeah, we haven’t watched that yet this year!” Cumulus said as she sprang up to get the remote for the TV.

    The last part to their girl’s night traditions was always watching a romcom – the cheesier the better, usually. Copia didn’t know how they hadn’t watched every single one yet but his girls were always resourceful, and seemed to have an entire inventory of them to look through. Of course, they rewatched some from time-to-time, but Copia never paid too much attention to the films, as he always preferred to focus on his Ghoulettes. Especially in their nights together since he became Frater.

    He doesn’t get to see his Ghouls nearly as much as he’d like to now, and so soaks up each and every moment he can with them. Okay, maybe it turns into an orgy where Copia still gets spoiled and basted with attention the whole time, but he still values that time too. Tonight was nothing of the sort though, and Copia fell asleep surrounded by his girls, his body feeling lighter and younger, his belly full of wine and snacks.

    Most importantly, he fell asleep with his heart positively brimming with love for his oh-so-cherished Ghoulettes.

The Great Wave - Chapter 13 Review

‼️SPOILERS FOR THE CHAPTER‼️

We end up in a completely different place in the midde of...nowhere?

This floating rock is just chilling in the middle of the ocean, okay. Yeah that's fine. Just don't let any fishermen or adventurers notice you at all.

Oh! Maybe the reason why it's got nothing to worry about is because it's surrounded by a magic invisible barrier that doesn't let people outside notice it. Kinda like how Grougaloragran used the same method for Oma Island and how Phaerys used it at Yugo and Adamai's birthday party in the manga between season 2 and the ovas.

I thought seeing Grougalorasalar was going to be enough for the Great Wave, but apparently, we're having another primordial dragon here! Nice ✨️✨️

For those who don't know, this new guy is Dardondakal, one of the six primordial dragons of the World of Twelve, which means he's also Grougalorasalar's brother.

In case we might see the other primordial dragons, here's a helpful reminder that shows you each of their names, dragon forms, and which dofus they originated from.

(You have no idea how helpful this image helped me through the years whenever I had to remember one of their names for an explanation. Only Aguabrial's name was the easiest to remember, and now Grougalorasalar's name became just as easy too. I feel like when we get a proper introduction for each dragon, it tends to become a lot easier to remember their names.)

Dardondakal actually looks nice in his human form, but I don't know who the dragon he's worryingly looking at is. But it's definitely another one of Dardondakal and Grougalorasalar's primordial brothers though (man so many dragon names are tiring my tongue out why are they so complicated to write and say??) so I'm betting my money on Terrakourial for being that possibility.

Dardondakal has beef with Julith lol

You'd think it'd be awkward to face the wife of your deceased guardian who had also gotten falsely accused of killing said guardian 🥰🥰 but nope Dardondakal at least knows the truth but he's still mad that she's here and almost beat his ass.

Yeah, Jahash (a bontarian huppermage and the past leader of Bonta's army) is Dardondakal's guardian. You gotta watch the Dofus movie for that.

Bro's just standing there not even looking 😭😭 Also what is up with everyone choking people in this manga?? First it's Amalia getting choked in a dream, then It's Aurora choking Amalia, and now it's Julith getting choked by Dardondakal.

Like damn, twelvian people really love necks.

Back in the last chapter, I was unsure if Julith was wearing clothes underneath her cloak but now that she's moving more, I can safely say that she won't catch hypothermia any soon. But it is weird that she's still isn't seen talking...Like what is up with that?

Also even though I never expected Dardondakal to have been much softer than I realized, it makes some sense. The Dofus movie depicted Dardondakal and Grougalorasalar as opposites in every way. Even their colors are the opposite of each other. So I guess acting like the opposite of your brother was planned ever since the movie.

Dardondakal almost getting his ass beat by Julith seriously makes me wonder what he might've thought of her and his own guardian getting married together.

Like he obviously doesn't like her in the slightest and thinks she's way too rough and barbaric so just imagine how he might've reacted when he saw her and Jahash getting married and having Joris lol

...oh yeah uhhhh...Don't go to Brakmar rn Julith....Toross fucked it up. I wonder if we'll ever see its state in upcoming chapters or even in season 5...

But even when Dardondakal doesn't agree with Grougalorasalar's methods, he's still stubborn and doesn't change his ideas even when his brother tells him that it's kinda messed up.

Do you realize how far gone he is with his plans when even one of his brothers can't get to him??

I seriously wonder how the encounter with Yugo could've gone out if Dardondakal had been there with Grougalorasalar.

Either Yugo would only attack Grougalorasalar, or there would've been NO POISON AT ALL.

But wait...if the belladone poison never happened, then Amalia wouldn't have kicked the two useless royal osamodas out...

Okay you know what? It's actually a good thing that it was only Grougalorasalar and Julith who came. Because they unknowingly made Amalia push herself to kick the useless turds away.

And while I'm still thinking about it, I don't think Dardondakal, despite being the softer one between him and his brother, could've kept his cool better than him. He literally lunged at Julith's neck for being the reason why so many lives lost. And she wasn't even the one who initiated the sacrifice! It was Grougalorasalar! AND BRO KNEW THAT!

Everyone's a hypocrite in this family 😍

But even when I thought that Grougalorasalar would've revived Julith to assist his fights, I never would've imagined that he would have brought her back for 'non-combat' reasons. Like what is that supposed to mean??

Julith was called the butcher of Brakmar for a reason because she literally perfects in fighting. So telling Dardondakal that that's not what she's here for makes me wonder if she won't be there to manipulate a certain little blue-cloaked guy....

Oh god....

Is this why we can see Joris in a later chapter cover???

Is that why Julith is even there? To make sure that Joris meets her once more and they talk one on one??? For what reason?? To bring him to her side??? In the Dofus movie, younger Joris was with her during some of the events transpiring and he had legitimately thought that she would be good for some time but NOPE!

Joris won't get fooled twice. He was a kid back then. The thought of seeing his mother once more will obviously shock him because he knows she died back then. But there's no way he'll willingly come to her side.

It's time like these where you know no one knows what the hell they're doing 🥰🥰

I do agree on one thing with Grougalorasalar in this chapter: even if you think your ways are brutal and forceful, you'll have to apply them with the utmost confidence. You cannot be seen doubting yourself or look soft when you act. It'll just make you look like a wimp and especially someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

Also uhhh....Is something happening to their other brothers? The dragon we saw in the beginning was clearly one of them, which is why Dardondakal was seen shedding a slight tear. This entire cavernous room might as well be that very same dragon's lair, and Dardondakal just came to visit.

Grougalorasalar....Clean whatever shit your bothers are in BEFORE dealing with Yugo.

Like that is basic knowledge 101. You HAVE to deal with your own problems before messing with other people's problems.

Everyone here should go to therapy at this point.

Pablo loved your close relationship with his older sister because he knew that when he couldn't spend much time with you, Aurora was always there to keep you company.

Part of him felt blessed that he knew you were safe as long as you're with his sister, but another part started to worry that you might love her more than him.

Obviously those were silly fears, because you love her as a sister and him as a lover but still made him a little jealous of your strong bond.

"Amor, do you want to go to the water with me??" Pablo asked during one of the days you've spent at the boat in Formentera wishing to hold you close and just spend some time with you alone.

"I'm sunbathing with Rora cariño.." you answered and Pablo just shrugged although deep down he hated that you chose her over him again...it felt so annoying to feel like he is competing with his own sister for your attention!

Obviously that comment was a joke and it was clear to Pablo but he still felt his jaw clench when he read it knowing that deep down he did feel jealous.

During the evening, Pablo didn't join the rest outside like usual where they would make some grill and listen to music while hanging out by the pool. You noticed that he was missing, going to check up on him in your shared bedroom.

There he was laying on the bed on his phone looking absolutely fine.

"Everyone is wondering where you are at cariño..why don't you join us?" you ask but he just shrugged his shoulder looking very disinterested about your request.

"Did your get sunburned today at the boat??" you ask wondering if that's maybe why he was moody and exhausted but it was clear that wasn't the case..something was definitely bothering him tho.

"Pablo, que pasa? Why don't you talk to me about it??" you sat down besides him and he put his phone away about to open up when he heard his sister calling your name groaning in annoyance and grabbing his phone again. "I promised to tell her if I like the dress she got recently..I'll be right back cariño" you said walking out of the room for a few moments but Pablo was no longer in the mood to talk so he just laid down and closed his eyes pretending to sleep when you returned

A few days after we got back to Sevilla, Pablo's mood have changed a little but he still seemed gloomy whenever his sister would spend time at home with the two of you.

The moment she comes, she just snatches you away and Pablo is left observing you from afar laughing and enjoying time with his sister instead of him. He was starting to grow frustrated from jealousy! You were his girl!!

"Can you move?" Pablo said but in more rude way that he should of making Aurora give him an 'are you serious rn face!?' to which he didn't respond.

"I want to sit next to my girlfriend if you don't mind!" he repeated again with the very rude tone and you were looking at him in surprise. Why was he being so cold and mean all of the sudden towards his sister??

"What if I do mind!?" Aurora smirked wanting to tease her younger brother but he was in no mood to entertain her for much longer.

"Well, I don't fucking care! She is mine so move!" he spat and that really made both of you stunned. Was Pablo really ready to fight his own sister like she is some guy trying to steal you away!?

"Well, she is MY best friend!" Aurora said smirking that he was getting so worked up over it.

"Pablo!" you said in a warning tone and he looked towards you his eyes softening when they met you dark ones before he just groaned shrugging his shoulders in annoyance that you weren't backing him up. It felt like you were siding with her against him despite how crazy that sounds...

"You're just jealous she loves me more cabrón!" Aurora said not thinking that her brother would really take that seriously but those words really hurt Pablo's feelings.

He looked at you and when you didn't say anything he just turned around and stomped into your shared bedroom sadly. You sighed telling Rora that you need to talk to your boy about whatever is going on with him and she of course understood.

"Pablo? Amor, can we talk about it please.." you sat on the bed besides him where he had his head buried in a pillow.

"Are you sure you have time to talk to me?? Maybe Aurora wants to talk to you now too" Pablo said sarcastically and you really tried your best not to burst out in laughter that he was really jealous of his own sister.

"You're cute when you're jealous.." you said really enjoying him acting like a child whenever he got moody about something. It was one of the most adorable things about him to you.

"I'm not jealous!" he said turning to look at you warningly and you smile making his eyes soften when he looked at you.

"Do you really love her more than me??" he whispered like he was ashamed of the question and you moved to lay on top of him kissing his lips lovingly.

"Of course not Pablito! It's a different kind of love altogether. She is my best friend and my sister. But you..you are my lover..my soulmate..my home. I don't love anyone like I love you cariño" you said after pulling away smiling when you saw that his cheeks got pink in response.

"Maybe I was a little silly..but you're my girl baby <3" he said and you chuckled nodding your head and kissing his lips again while his strong arms wrapped around your waist to pull you even closer to him.

The longer you kissed the harder it got not to just rip each other's clothes off but when Pablo caught his breath whispering in your ear "maybe we should go to the beach alone tonight..I really need you amor" and you felt your panties get wet and your cheeks flushed. You wanted the same thing as him..but you just couldn't help yourself but to tease him a little bit.

"I think Rora wanted to do something tonight.." you said and he raised his brows at you with a disappointed face but when he saw you crack a smile he knew you were just messing with him.

"Amor!!" he said pulling you down and kissing all over your face while you giggled at his adorable reaction. Not jealous!? Yeah right!!

"I'm kidding Pablito!!! I'm all yours!" you said and he nodded liking that answer a lot better than previous one!

A few days later when Pablo finally realized how silly his little 'non jealous jealousy' was he of course apologized to Rora who called him a massive simp for you which he didn't deny.

He was a proud simp for the girl he loved more than anybody or anything else in this world!!

BUT YES!! I fully believe that the Knight of Dawn’s appearance and Silver’s was fully intentional. This will irrevocably confirm their ties as father and son. No one can escape it, not even Silver.

Additionally, in the Sleeping Beauty animation. Aurora was basically a copy of her mom. So that could also be a homage to that as well. 🥹🌷

On that topic, it makes me so sad to see all those parents and their children posts on twitter and on here, but rarely do we see the Knight of Dawn and Silver together. But thankfully, I did see some on JP side of twitter having them together 🙏

Because as much as Lilia is the father to Malleus and Silver, so is Meleanor to Malleus and Knight of Dawn to Silver. But I’ll end that rambling here 😖

Back to your point about Silver being the antithesis of Knight of Dawn, and this is where the tissues are truly needed, it shows how much love and environment can influence someone doesn’t it?

Both Dawn and Silver were adopted by someone they care for, but their situation differs.

Dawn was adopted and cared for by his father figure (whom we haven’t met but we know is sick) and this is used as a weapon against him by Henrik. Shouldn’t you be grateful? Shouldn’t you help get the Princess Glow? Don’t you care for your father figure and Princess Leia?

His feelings was constantly used against him. He wasn’t treated as a person but a weapon by those around him. He had no choice in the matter and it was because of this that the Knight of Dawn had to take actions he was clearly against.

Now Silver was raised by Lilia, Malleus, and the Zigvolts. He was raised in an environment where he was truly loved. Silver chose to be a knight who will protect Malleus and Lilia. He wasn’t forced or guilt tripped into it by anyone. He always wanted to do this and he trained for it. 🥹💞

And because of this and because of how well he knows Malleus and Lilia, he was able to stand up against OB Malleus.

He knows Lilia wouldn’t want to be forced to stay, especially if others will be hurt. He knows Malleus is doing this to make everyone happy but it will cost him his life, which no one wants. That’s why the blessing used on Silver is such a big deal, why it’s a show of great love from his parents to Silver.

So Silver would never have to go through what the Knight of Dawn has, so he can live life happily in a world of peace and harmony where all races get along.

Silver doesn’t have to have the heartbreak of what Dawn went through. He can be raised in an loving environment that every child deserves.

We have only known the Knight of Dawn for two chapters so far and the parallels/differences he has with Lilia, Silver, and Malleus is chef kiss and makes me feral. 🫶💚

A/N: guys it's here! this is my new Ateez series that i'm working on rn. this series will be based off of songs by this artist named Lucky Daye. i'm super excited to write this and i hope y'all are just as excited to read this! for now, enjoy this prologue

Every night always felt the exact same. People come in, drink to their heart’s content, pay their bill, then leave either somewhat sober or completely black-out drunk. Today was no exception. As the dive bar was prepping for Valentine’s day, you were taking orders from left, right, up, and down from the hole-in-the-wall place. Despite the orders being tedious and copious, this was a piece of cake for you. You were serving rounds of shots to one table, crafting cocktails ranging from basic to house specials, and taking the huge tips that customers have left you. The best part? You haven’t experienced any rude or creepy behavior from any customers. 

Well…

Until a few hours later. 

You saw a group of women sit at the bar and you were chosen to serve them. You could tell from the overall vibes they gave off that they were trying to get one of the women to nurse her broken heart. You didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but according to them, her man cheated on her with someone else and that someone else used to be her best friend. You sighed to yourself as you saw her down her drink and sob her heart out. Even though it was definitely none of your business, you sincerely hoped that she finds true love. Or at the very least, a man to treat her right. 

“Ayo, Y/N! Can you get booth number eight please?! I’ll cover for you here!

Lim Jaebeom, your coworker, informed you of one of the booths needing to get their order in and you complied before grabbing your notepad and making your way over to the booth. As you approached the booth, you suddenly felt a sense of dread wash over you. There was a single man seated right smack in the middle of a booth that could definitely fit more people. He was wearing an all black outfit and had a black mask with silver chains crossed over in the shape of an X covering it. His head was tilted a bit downwards so the black fedora covered the top half of his face. A nervous smile was plastered on your face as you introduced yourself and asked what the man wanted to order in the most polite tone ever. 

He didn’t say anything. 

Instead, he leaned forward and pointed to what he wanted to order. You noticed that he had a silver ring on and it was in the form of infinity signs. Or maybe sideways 8s. Either way, he tapped the menu twice and you leaned forward to see what he wanted. 

“One scotch and soda coming up.”

You hastily wrote the order down and went back to the bar to prepare his drink. Once the easy drink was finished, you walked back to the booth and set his drink down on the table before asking if he wanted anything else. The man shook his head and you nodded before turning around to leave. You felt something grab your wrist and you looked down to see that the man grabbed you. You turned around quickly and inquired on what else he needed. He reached into his jacket and pulled out a single card before giving it to you. You assumed this was his weird way of giving you his number so you hastily thanked him before going back to the bar. Since your coworker was covering for you, you decided to take a quick peek at the card. 

His number wasn’t on there. 

The card was silver and it had a black logo right smack in the middle of it. You then turned the card around and the feeling of dread washed over you once again. There was a statement on the back of the card that had a shiver go down your spine. You read the statement aloud to yourself yet kept your voice quiet since you didn’t want anyone to hear you. 

“Seek out the truth. Open your eyes. For the sake of everything good, wake up! WAKE UP!”

You gulped nervously and felt queasiness in the pit of your stomach. Beads of sweat dropped from your forehead and you looked around to see where the mysterious man was. Luckily, he was still in the booth. You needed answers. You approached Jay B and told him that you weren’t feeling well. He looked at you with concern written on your face, but didn’t press you for more questions. Instead, he said that he’ll let Mr. Wang, your boss, know that you’ve gone home for the night. After thanking him profusely, you clocked out, grabbed your things, and stomped your way over to where the man was just now paying for his drink. You slammed your hand on the table and shook the card in his face. 

“What’s the meaning of this?! What kind of sick joke are you playing here?! Are you trying to kidnap me or something?!” 

The man simply chuckled and the queasiness you were feeling earlier heightened to a new level. He stood up and extended his gloved hand towards you. Nervously, you took his hand and stood up before following him to the bar’s exit. You noticed a sleek sports car parked right in front of you with the same logo as the hood ornament. He opened the door for you and you thanked him briefly before getting inside. He walked over to the other side and took off the fedora and mask before breathing out a sigh of relief. 

You were holding in your own breath since the man in front of you was hot. 

“I’m sorry for scaring you back there. I felt their eyes watching me so I had to stay silent. Otherwise, they might recognize me.”

If it weren’t for the situation you were in right now, you would’ve melted at the sound of his soft and melodic voice laced with genuine sorrow and sincerity. He started the car and began driving. You looked out the window, amazed by how the city lights seemed brighter when driving by. You then shook your head and turned back to him. 

“You need to tell me what’s going on. I didn’t go with you willingly for nothing, you know?”

“In due time. For now, let me introduce myself. My name is Maddox. I am a subordinate for the eight pirate kings known as Halateez. And right now, my bosses are in some trouble. Real serious trouble.”

Pirate kings? Why does the name sound familiar?

“You are the only one that can help me. They are stuck in some kind of simulation that was meant to be for hiding until the android guardians are completely gone. However, something went wrong.”

Simulation? Android guardians? What was going on?

“A virus entered the system and now the simulation they’re all in? They think it’s their life.”

“Oh no…”

Maddox sighed as he slowed down and turned left before going a few more miles. It seemed they were close to wherever they were going, but you still needed more detail on what exactly was going on. 

“What should I do?”

“Help them break free.”

Soon, the two of you approached an abandoned warehouse where another man was standing there, seemingly waiting for them. He had black hair, many tattoos underneath the black fur coat he was wearing, and had one eye that was completely white. When the both of you exited the car, he walked towards the both of you. 

“This is her?”

The man had an Australian accent when he spoke. Maddox nodded and the man extended his hand towards you. You took his hand and firmly shook it. You couldn’t help but be intimidated by his height. 

“Good evening, ma’am. My name is Christian Yu, but you can call me MITO.”

“MITO here is one of the best bounty hunters the world has to offer. He can be your guide into the simulation you will soon enter, but he cannot help you break my bosses free.”

“So you’re basically just the muscle then?”

MITO nodded and you sighed to yourself. You just wanted to work your ass off on this valentine’s day and now you were roped into some weird rescue mission. You sighed and looked at Maddox wearily. He must’ve sensed your weariness and held your hand gently. 

“I know this seems out of left field for you and I do apologize for this situation. However, my bosses have done so much to overthrow the government and stop their corrupt ways. I truly believe you are the one that can do it. If it is too much for you though, you can back out right now.”

You thought about it at first. But as soon as he mentioned his bosses being the pirate kings, you had doubts. You heard about Halateez before and how they have done so much to bring back human emotion to the world. They risked their lives so you could live yours peacefully. A sense of duty washed over you and with a determined look on your face, you turned to Maddox and shook your head. 

“I want to save these men. Show me the way.”

Maddox and MITO had relieved smiles on their faces before they led you inside the warehouse. In the middle of it was a plethora of machines and huge tubes. A chair was placed in the middle and above the chair was a helmet that looked like something out of Xmen: First Class. You looked around in awe at the juxtaposition of the warehouse and this scientific set up before your eyes landed on the tubes. You gasped loudly and held your mouth as you saw the eight pirate kings all asleep and unmoving. 

They were here, but they also weren’t here at the same time. 

“Each simulation lies in a different trope they individually believe is their actual life.”

“Trope?! Like fanfics and shit?!”

“Yes. Is that a problem?”

A small blush dusted your cheeks with pink and you turned away in embarrassment. MITO must’ve noticed and failed to hide his snickers. You flipped him off while Maddox looked confused. 

“Wait so let me get this straight. Their fate lies in the hands of… a fanfic reader?”

“MAN, LISTEN -”

MITO doubled over in laughter and Maddox sighed before elbowing the bounty hunter in the stomach out of annoyance. He then looked at you and pinched the bridge of his nose before speaking. 

“I know it sounds utterly ridiculous, but it’s the truth. Please help me. Help them.”

Groaning in exasperation, you sauntered over to the chair and sat down before crossing your arms. Maddox walked over to you and pulled down the helmet while MITO started up the machines. After Maddox placed the helmet over your head securely, he leaned down and informed you of one final instruction. 

“They will each ask you an important question. You won’t know what they will ask or when. All you need to know is that your answer will always be ‘Because none of it is real! Wake up!’ Do you understand?”

You nodded and Maddox raised his fist, indicating that he believes in you and that he’ll be here for you when things go wrong. He gave you a four leaf clover charm to symbolize good luck before waving. The last thing you saw was MITO’s face before your eyes closed. 

Let the simulation commence.

i'd say narrative role would be a pretty major one in other cases but like these are all protagonists. they've been here the whole time

fandom popularity (there is a BUNCH of factors within this one haha. individual & societal biases are going to play in here) -- real life fan demographics (age, gender, sexual orientation, various neurodivergences etc. can't break this down by category because discord's very private but this is probably affecting popularity somehow) -- fandom demographics (kendal fans vs alinua fans vs dainix fans present in the server etc) -- character complexity i guess (ex. i'd say tess would get less discussion bc her character's like kind of comfy & resolved already). this factor is also very subjective subjective (refer to point below) -- from the previous 2 points, demographics of the characters themselves (gender, race, sexual orientation? uh. personality if you want to share disorders with them, age if that varied that much for these guys, etc.)

FLAW: controversy! they don't have to be liked to be discussed. worth noting that on discord (conversation platform) majority favorites may trump individual tastes here (ex. a kendal fan may end up mentioning erin more because he comes up in conversation more often)

A plot hole that makes me want to tear my hair out

I honestly consider myself a pretty laid back person when it comes to plot holes for most media and especially for trc; plot holes on their own I’m usually fine to gloss over they only bother me if they coincide with something character related or thematic that I dislike, then I’ll bitch about them, but other times they are simply not my priority compared to other things. And TRC & TD3 are extremely character driven so that’s especially true regarding it, I’m sure there are more major plot holes but the ones that actually bother me would be: 

not addressing in Greywaren when all the magical or dreamt creatures go into a coma because the ley line energies are dead, that Gansey is also a ley line powered creature and should be fully dead rn… like… if we’re going to jump through so many hoops to not bring in or address what’s going on with Gansey Blue and Henry, I feel like you should just address it and/or bring someone in… 

This is more a dropped thread (I was actually making a list of plot holes that borrowed me in trcverse and then realized most of them are actually dropped plotlines so only addressing the two that are kind of both) than a plot hole but the fact the tapestry of women with Blue’s faces never gets brought back beyond that tidbit about it being a sweet metal which isn’t even related back to Blue and her plot line so I don’t think that’s satisfying enough. Part of me wonders if there was going to be a Blue is related to Gwenllian and therefore Glendower thread, or something about other mirror women in Gwenllian’s time. Also think it’s possible this was Mstief playing with the concept of adding clones to the verse before she’d really fleshed that out and committed to what she’d eventually do with the Hennessy girls. Women having to be reflections of the world around them or other people is such an interesting theme to explore and it is sort of a through line in the verse between the Blue as a mirror, the Blue and Gwenllian stuff in BLLB and the Jordan/Hennessy and Aurora/Mor dichtomities (which also gives Blue’s Extreme Distaste for Aurora and more ambivalent discomfort with Gwenllian interesting connotations imo), but it’s only really properly explored with Jordanessy and then not even to it’s full potential. And the red hands… okay I need to save some of this for when I get to taking BLLB notes which will be real soon. But I have many thoughts on how it was not used to it’s full potential at all which includes the lack of explanation

This is also like partially plot hole partially just dropped storyline but the lack of follow through on the thread in MI about Ronan’s fear about Adam being bonded to him because of Cabeswater not being followed through on is sooo odd. Like yes that’s more about his self esteem + abandonment stuff and it’s obviously not true but the fact we never witness a conversation where Adam is like “no your wrong because I made the deal with Cabeswater of my own volition, it was separate from you etc.’ I won’t go into all my thoughts on this am planning to have it come up in my Reading TRB fic as a conversation between them to deal with some of my own gripes… I think td3 on some level is meant to address the consequences of the sacrifices deals choices etc. of trc for Ronan and Adam but it’s also very adamant about not engaging with huge chunks of trc canon like the other chars or dynamics or locations or magic … and like there’s certainly a way to flop as a spin off from trying to be too closely tied to the og series so if she was trying to avoid that I get that impulse, but the desire for the series to be about thematic consequences of the first series while also having nothing to do with the first series and it’s themes…. resulted in some truly bizarre choices imo. So this is an individual example that brings out a lot of my frustrations with this lmao. Also with my gripes about how Pynch’s arc and conflict is handled in td3 but I feel like I’ve spoken on that enough I don’t have to go into it here.

There are things about TRK I’m sure count and Gansey’s resurrection might count but I can’t really articulate my thoughts there rn well say what I have to say on this reread.  thank you

Aurora arrived back at the Guant Manor late one evening after being out with her friends. She quietly made her way through the house to Marvolos' room, seeing him asleep on his bed, lay on his front, with an arm draped over one of her pillows, his head half resting on it. She slipped out of her clothes and into her nightdress, trying to be careful not to wake him.

As she gently touched his arm to try and get her pillow a soft smile crept onto his lips, but his eyes remained closed as his arm lazily reached out, grabbing her by the dress and pulling her onto the bed with him, his arm now around her waist, Aurora couldn't help but giggle.

Marvolo: *quiet half asleep voice* Hello, Wife. *lazy chuckle*

Aurora: *giggles* Hey you~

He turned onto his side, her back flush with his stomach and his head resting against her shoulder as he gave her a gentle kiss on the neck.

Aurora: Remember when you used to freak out? When I'd crawl into your bed in the middle of the night?

Aurora: *jokingly* How did you know it was me? And not some enemy coming to get you.

alr so first of all, aurora borealis. thats interpreted as him celebrating with his friend then gf then wife, lila, every christmas. you see, he knows hes going to die one christmas day. he knows the exact date and time he will die (he even somehow knows of the clown guy - refer to the ending of When He Died). so he celebrates christmas eve with lila yearly including his very last christmas eve. then all the weird shit that happens in when he died happens. lila, however, does not remember this. she remembers traces of the person she used to spend her life with, but she cant place a finger on it anymore. any traces of evidence are mysteriously gone now. also, she doesnt know it, but this is why she loves christmas so much. because [AMNESIA] always tried to make it special for her every single year.

i've never considered Igor to be close to snape gang/their age but you've put the idea in my brain and now im obsessed please tell me everything!! (if you want to ofc :)

I am more than happy to yap about this!!! I'll take any excuse to yap about them so thank you for asking!!

So we obviously only see Igor in GoF and we see he knows Severus, he has some weird tension with him from their DE days and that's what most of this is built on. That and when Igor greets Dumbledore he calls him "my dear fellow" and speaks of Hogwarts as if he'd been there before, calling it "dear old Hogwarts" andsays how good it is to be there, it feels very familiar. The theory I usually work with is that he was an exchange student for a year from Durmstrang, we know this is a thing, a Durmstang student has spent time at Hogwarts before and Bill Weasley was invited on an exchange trip to Brazil but couldn't afford it. But even if we ignore the exchange student stuff, he's a Death Eater which is like networking central for Snape's gang.

But going back to Igor and Sev, we don't know the extent of their history before GoF, we know that Igor gave Severus's name at his trial but he was already known as a spy to the Ministry so there would understandably be some tension there. I like to think that something happened between them that ended badly at Hogwarts but Severus thought he would never see Igor again and didn't bother trying to fix it. That was until one of them walks into a DE meeting and the other is there and Sev is like fuuuuuck and Igor is already thinking of ways to either get him in bed or kill him, or both. They spend the whole year of GoF bickering like a divorced couple and Viktor Krum is their weird child who (in the books) looks like a blend of them which is irrelevant rn but so funny to me and had to mention it. They're stuffed into cupboards, they're arguing at the Yule Ball in the snow when Igor tries to reach for Sev's waist in that deleted scene but Sev is like nuh uh bitch. Then there's just a lot of glaring like all the time.

As for the other members of Snape's gang, we know Charity worked at Hogwarts as a Muggle Studies teacher and right before she's killed she begs to Severus because he's a familiar face, so I like to think there's something there, maybe an old friendship that drifted ap because we know Sev kinda keeps to himself as a professor. It's not unreasonable to imagine she was also working there at the time of GoF too, same for Aurora Sinistra who we know has worked at Hogwarts for a while before Harry's first year AND WAS AT THE YULE BALL AND DANCED WITH BARTY DISGUISED AS MOODY!!!! Which I'm obviously so chill and normal about. Anyway, so Aurora at least has met Igor and knew him for the extent of that year at least, that's like a solid 9 months, and it's not too far of a stretch to say Charity could have too.

Then characters like Avery Jr, Wilkes and Mulciber (in whatever way you imagine them, I use Edmund, Wilhelm and Bruce respectively but you will rarely see me talk about the last two) were also Death Eaters like Igor and attended Hogwarts and were friends with Sev, so they would also know Igor probably from DE meetings at a minimum but if we're going with Igor being an exchange student, that's a whole year of school being in the same circle.

And if we're getting a little canon with it, Evan was in Snape's gang too!!! I don't particularly see him being besties with Igor, but my version of Igor would probably annoy Evan so much anyway and he already has a Barty so he doesn't need another nuisance.

I can't take credit for most of these theories though, some of it comes from @futurequibblerjournalist and some from bits of canon that the fandom have kinda woven together. At the end of the day, I find it quite fun to have all these links to characters knowing each other, especially when it comes back to bite them in the ass later!!!

The Dragon Prince AU where Neolandia and Katolis are residents of Xadia due to Viren

Viren turns the Dragon King into stone and took the egg along with trapping Raylas parents in coins and taking Aaravos' mirror like in canon

Harrow finds out and tries to get Viren to redeem his wrong by returning the egg and mirror

Viren, who doesn't want to return them, tries to turn the entire Kingdom of Katolis against him and his two children

This attempt causes the kingdom to be divided, some believe Viren while some believe Harrow, more believe Viren compared to Harrow so they drive Harrow and those who believe him into Xadia by turning the rest of the Kingdoms against them

Those who left include some at the border which causes even more of a divide

Those who left are Harrow, Callum, Ezran & Bait, Amaya, Gren, Opeli, Corvus, Marcos & other crownguards, Soren, and Claudia

Soren and Claudia take the Dragon egg with them, Viren doesn't know until the two are already in Xadia

A few months later, Viren finds out a way to "release" Aaravos from his prison, which is just Aaravos bonding to Viren so he can be seen by everyone and interact with the physical world

No one questions why but Viren decided to give an announcement that Aaravos will be helping them take down Harrow for betraying them

This causes Viren to easily the Sun Staff(I think that's its name, it's the staff that Viren used to turn Kasef into that fire monster)

Viren also remarried and has two stepchildren, Alexander(stepson) and Aurora(stepdaughter), his wife is Eleanor

Alexander is a crownguard while Aurora is learning to be a mage like Viren, Eleanor is a steamstress

A few weeks after Aaravos is "freed", Neolandia goes to have a meeting with the King of Katolis

Since the King is sick, the next in line for the throne, Kasef, is sent to see the King of Katolis

Kasef is with his own guards when he arrives in the throne room

During the meeting, Alexander, Aurora, Aaravos, and Viren talk to Kasef about their plans to take down Harrow once and for all

Kasef doesn't like Virens plan of turning people into fire monster just to get revenage, he believes it is a horrible plan

This causes Viren to demonstrate that the plan isn't horrible by having Kasef be the first person turned into a fire monster

This backfires against Viren and causes Neolandia to turn against Katolis, Aaravos proposes that they turn the other Kingdoms against Neolandia so they don't lose allies

They drive Neolandia into Xadia just like they did to Harrow and those who believed him

This causes the relationship between the Human Kingdoms and Xadia to improve(slightly) sooner compared to in canon

Neolandia and Katolis(Harrow vers) to join forces in Xadia along with joining forces with Elves and Dragons

Things go just like they do in canon but the Moonshadow Elves don't try to go after Harrow and Ezran because Viren was the one to kill their king and the Dragon Prince is alive

So they are instead planning to go after Viren with the help of both of the Human Kingdoms but mainly Soren and Claudia are helping due to knowing Viren and things the Elves could use against him
