There was light. A calmness of peace when Abyss went up under the dark waters. That sort of crystalizing moment when memories came a lot more clear. A peaceful moment between Auel and what he considered friends. But the brighter the light, the darker the shadows that linger.

Coming out the sea in the scorched up Flight Suit, Auel looked like he crawled out of the maw of Hell itself. The first thing he stole was a fresh pair of clothes someone had so graciously hung out on a line to dry then head into the nearest port city. He had no idea where he was truthfully and the more info he could have the better. Then a thought crossed his mind. A thought of freedom. He stopped dead in his tracks as the notion came to him and he began to laugh before he tried his luck on hitching a ride some where. He stuck his thumb out.

"Heh...I guess I was one of the lucky ones..." Auel muttered.

‘Just can’t catch a break, can I?’

Another day, another crisis - that’s what it felt like since the second war began. Now here he was, in some bar he’d just stumbled upon, hoping the lights and music would cancel out the pounding in his head, and instead as soon as he almost felt like he could possibly start to relax, he was approached and...threatened? by some sassy lost child.

‘What’s this guy even doing here? He doesn’t look like he can be any older than--’

He cut off his thought by slamming back the rest of his drink, and as the warm, floaty feeling kicked in, the first thought that came in to replace the unwanted memory was that technically this threat was physically impossible because there was no air in space.

The second thought was that he should probably answer.

“I’m sorry - who are you?”

It took a bit but scaring off the Alliance soldiers from Stella seemed to pay off. Auel basically was her guard dog to make sure things were kosher, though he knew she could handle it her aloof nature can get the better of her.

You were probably one of the earliest Akechi blogs I interacted with and through it all - through hiatuses and absences, we’ve continued to talk every so often and have even done some threading through Discord.  No matter where life takes you or how busy you’ll get, you’re always someone I will be 200% down to write with or even just to chill with.  You’re someone who I genuinely want as a part of my life and someone I want to continue talking and threading with, as long as I can.  No matter how far apart life takes us, you can always shoot me a message - I definitely won’t be forgetting you or your Akechi anytime soon.
