So it’s been a while since I’ve posted about EO but I’m finally back on track

So part 3 of EO I guess, mostly a Tina and Gaige redesign

Before going any further, I’d like to say that I haven’t played GLAT and that I will make it important in the au once I’ve played it so Gaige isn’t fully developped yet. Please do not spoil the DLC

So anyways

Details on Gaige: She’s a member of B team. She’s basically Tina’s big sister because famblies go brrr. In one of her adventures, she found some kind of eridian tech, which she combined to her robotic arm. So now she can basically use eridium to make her robotic arm have some crazy abilities. (Her b team logo is inspired by @scrap-brainzone and so is Angel’s neck scar)

Oh and two things:

1- Yeah this is a shock scar on Gaige’s right arm, sorry if it’s unclear

2- Yeah Tina has a mullet. “But why Mars?” Because I saw it in a dream.

SO MY BORDERLANDS REWRITE AU

ERIDIAN OVERRUN

(The present in this au is 3 years after bl3)

Part 1: Phaseleech scars

Because yeah I ain’t showing all of it in one post

(Yes I know it’s actually a right hand I drew on the top there. I realized that right when I was about to post this. Please just pretend it’s the left hand I’m too lazy to fix it.)

So basically, it’s also a bit of a headcanon I have where people who survived phaseleech would have scars around the leeched area.

Also before I start, it is important to mention: in this au, Troy still tried to phaseleech Maya, but the VH3 came back in time and saved her. However, Troy had the time to take her power, leaving most of the bl3 plotline intact. Also Ava got phaseleech, not phaselock.

And also, that instead of flying herself on Elpis, Lilith pulls with Maya’s help the Phaselock-Phasewalk combo on Elpis and therefore doesn’t disappear.

At first, the scars are a bit stone-y, kinda like the husks corpses the calypsos leave around. The scars are fragile, very hard to move and most of the nerves are gone. The scars can be healed with eridium, but it is very limited.

The scars leave some kind of magic trace. To most, this doesn’t change anything, but if it’s a siren who has the scars (*ehem* Lilith and Maya) getting her power back will react to this magic trace, healing the scars only to leave the healed skin dark gray. It also gives the siren some weird features and makes the scars glow more often.

Lilith’s scar: Left by her encounter against Tyreen, it goes from her upper neck to her upper chest. She had a bit of difficulty breathing at first because it got close to her respiratory system, but it wasn’t anything too bad. Also, because of that, she now exhales purple smoke when using her power (magic trace stuff). Lilith got lucky as to her scar. Because of her frequent use of eridium, she gained over time natural toughness, even without use of eridium, making the spread of the scar not that bad.

Maya’s scar: Since Maya used eridium only once before she got her scar, she didn’t get that eridium toughness Lilith had, making her scar’s extent larger. Her scar takes her entire left arm and goes up to the bottom left of her face. It also goes a bit around the arm but not that much. Also, since the twins got the rampager’s power before Troy stole Maya’s power, the magic trace left in her scar kinda has some rampager energy. However, it only manifests itself on the healed scars as claws to the scarred arm.

Hey if Maya got a magic trace from her scar, doesn’t that mean I could make her able to anoint people if I wanted to?

Tyreen has one on the middle of the chest due to Troy using her to charge Elpis.

Oh and you may ask: Is that Maya with Sentinel like glowing marks in the bottom left? Yeah. There’s gonna be something about sirens having some kind of control over the vault monsters but I haven’t even figured it out that much myself.

So I wanted to share another part of Eridian overrun with y’all

New siren powers

So EO develops siren powers pretty far

Siren ghosts

When a siren dies, they can appear as a « ghost » to the inheriter of their power. The ghost can only appear when the siren first get their power, when the siren uses their power or when the siren personally calls the ghost. However, the ghost isn’t forced to appear, and if it does, it can stay a little bit longer in the mortal world. Siren ghosts have powers such as being able to manipulate the living siren’s actions (only if it’s with extreme will tho) and appearing to a limited amount of people other than the siren. However, if the power was amplified when the siren died (ex. Leeched vault monster), this power will be taken to the grave, making the ghost more powerful.

Vault monster power

So basically, we learn in this au that each siren power has a link to a certain vault monster. The links are:

Walk - Traveller

Lock - Sentinel

Shift - Warrior

Trance - Rampager

Leech - Destroyer

(Steele’s power?) - Graveward

By visiting the monsters vault and coming in contact with the monsters energy, the sirens can use this power to gain a temporary « vault power form »

Basically, this form is a humanoid mix of the siren and the monsters appearance. They’re pretty tall, obvs, and they have limited control of the monsters power

Im going to show y’all the vault monster forms at some point. I was scared I wouldn’t be able to make the monster forms human enough but I did a pretty good job I think

Ive been thinking about him on the au and I’ve thought that over time, he’d start to loot less trash and more actual stuff

And then I thought how after Elpis blowing up, he’d have to find somewhere else to go

Because yk he wasn’t on Elpis when it did duh

So I started to consider VH Pickle? I mean there’s plenty of cool stuff to loot in vaults

Maybe he could be friend with Tina and Ava. Could be cool :D

Also what if he adopted the Jumbuck instead of that drunk guy? Idk I just think the lil rock dinosaur is cute

Well after long enough here’s part two of Eridian Overrun (borderlands 3 spoilers ahead)

EO part one

This episode’s topic is

The fight for sanctuary plant gas (ft. Salvador and Krieg) + some developpement on Sally boy and Mr. Meatman

The plant gas

So I’ll try to summarize as much as I can, but basically, EO adds interesting features to the gas. Ya see, the antidote doesn’t rid you of the gas. It simply slows it down ALOT. Also, every time you go in the gas, a small quantity of it stays in your organism.

Now if you take those things and merge ‘em together, you get what I call « overexposure » Basically, if you accumulate too much gas, yet are still immune, you will enter a state of slow mutation. It is caused by the contact of this absorbed gas with pandoran spores. Overexposure can only stop by leaving the pandoran atmosphere, and therefore cutting contact with those spores.

There can be some other conditions that make you develop overexposure:

Big, but non lethal contact with the gas without having the antidote in a short span of time (ex.: Vaungh)

Going trough the early phases of infection before getting the antidote (ex.: Mordecai)

Being exposed to a big quantity of the gas with a underdose of antidote (ex.: Hector boss fight)

At first, the only symptoms are a greener taint to the blood, amplified gas boost and increased muscular strength. At this stade, the mutations can be completely reversed by cutting off contact with the spores quickly enough. Staying long enough out of pandora will rid you completely of the gas, and therefore, of overexposure. An example of this state are the vh2 by the end of FFS.

However, if some time has passed since the beginning of the mutations and you’re still on Pandora, then that’s where the real stuff begins. First of all, later stages mutations cannot be reversed, as they are too significant. However, it is still possible to stop the progress by leaving Pandora. Those mutations are: Apparition of plant spikes on the body (mostly the arms), green hands with claws, pointy teeth and first stage symptoms being further increased. Examples of this are Salvador, Krieg and Vaungh

Eventually, on extreme cases, you might grow plant limbs, but so far the only known example is the Hector boss fight

Salvador

After FFS, Salvador stayed for a bit on pandora (around a year or two) to just, yaknow, keep killing bad guys. After that, he took a little break from pandora, on Tannis’s doctor order. Later, he went back to Pandora. At some point, like a few months before the EO present (3y after bl3), Vaungh found him and invited him to the sun smashers. I know it’s not much clear, but the little drawing on the left top corner is his SS logo. Yeah they have logos like B team now. Also, SS is in an alliance with the raiders.

Krieg

So for context, PKATFF still happens (because Maya isn’t dead, it’s a bit different but it still happens.) and yk there’s still the god tier ending. Krieg stays a few months in the cave starting to fix himself. After that, with pretty good progress done, he starts thinking of other ways to help himself. Thinking about the raiders makes him realize that he can’t be alone anymore. He goes back on SANC.-3 to see his friends (and pretty lady 🫶) again. Sane Krieg’s goal isn’t rlly to get rid of psycho Krieg anymore, but to get a more shared control over the system. P Krieg still has the most control, but S Krieg can front sometimes now. He even got to see his face really recently. It’s was a pretty moving moment. Also, he kinda becomes a dad to Ava because Maya is like a mom to Ava (hehe fambly)

Oh and I know the arm in the drawing doesn’t look like Sally’s or Krieg’s and that’s because it isn’t.
