Being A Boss Bitch
The urban dictionary describes a boss bitch as “a confident, successful and independent woman who speaks her mind and stands up for what she believes in. She keeps it 100% real with everyone, sets boundaries and isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. She is unique, courageous and fierce. Her dreams are big, but her ambition is bigger. She is an advocate for the empowerment of women and knows that a strong mindset and putting herself first is for the betterment of everyone and everything around her. Her positive energy, charisma and drive to succeed make her an influential leader, role model and mentor to other women. She is a force to be reckoned with and can be intimidating from afar, but once you get to know her you’ll realize she can be a loving, caring friend, confidante and your own personal cheerleader.”
What the urban dictionary neglects to highlight is the process of becoming a boss bitch which by the ways ladies and gentlemen is not easy. The ritual of becoming a boss bitch involves so many things but gun to my head I would say the first rule in my book of being a boss bitch would be sleepless nights and like I mean a large number of those. You are required of course to be as strong as a bull if you want anyone to take you seriously in life. Let me elaborate on the latter, we all know that this is a mans world and women were designed to make sure that it stays a mans world, but with only a few of us making it through the cracks and into the big boys club I will tell you this now GWA IWA
I work in a male dominated industry, I speak like a typical guy and by the looks of things I have bigger balls then most of the men I interact with but because it’s a mans world I am always forced to work twice as hard and because she (ME) is a boss bitch I work 5 times harder because God knows there is no way I am going to flirt myself into deals and situations. I have male business partners who expect me to put in as much work as they do. If you want to be a boss bitch like me please note that you will be required to always make sure that you are always heard and are at the top of your game which basically means that whilst the gents sleep I am up plotting new and innovative ways to take us to the next level, see what I meant about sleepless nights??? Being a boss bitch means going the extra mile, having more than one job because if I don’t learn and absorb as much as I can I won’t be able to fit the description of the urban dictionary and lastly kids, if you want to be a boss bitch like Lwazi prepare for people to expect you not to have any form of emotion towards things or people. I get dumped more then I make money and I understand it’s because I am never emotionally involved in any of the relationships I find myself in, I never get my heart broken but my ego always gets bruised. I am like a diamond you know beautiful, shinny and expensive with very sharp edges because the world doesn’t allow me to be soft. I get lonely but I am never alone because there is always an obstacle to face, I can’t show my weaknesses because they will be misunderstood for a POES!!!!
If you want to be a boss bitch prepare to preach feminism but not too much of it just in case the men I am trying to build with mistaken me for those “men are trash” women. Prepare to lose friends who don’t understand why you are so passionate about being strong for others, prepare to cry behind closed doors ngoba if you cry in public someone will be waiting to be a shoulder to cry on, and boss bitches don’t roll like that, stack up and support your loved ones, read good books, smoke good weed and drink lots of water and who knows you could the next, Margaret Thatcher, E.V.E, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj or Dj Zinhle be prepared baby girl the power puff girls need a fifth member.
