Don’t look too close at the faces, had to speedrun this so I could actually motivate myself to finish the entire lineup. Definitely not my best work. Clothing was a pain to figure out and I’ll definitely change some things in the future as I’m still not entirely happy with the general aesthetics of some sets. Zuri and Efe were the worst to figure out, their clothing styles were very modern in comparison to what I’m going for with Ancient Ruins so it took me a while.

But first of all, what is a NeoBuilder?

Lore entry Ahead, body horror warning, nothing too extreme I wouldn’t say, but the concept definitely isn’t the prettiest.

“NeoBuilder” describes a category of individuals that appear to be within the homo-genus (Artisan Family.).

The dissection of a deactivated individual showed (us) they are made of about 85% mechanical components, most of which consist of copper and iron. Organs however remain fully functional and can be traced back to Ancient Artisans in origin through DNA sampling. Blood vessels aswell as a large portion of their flesh has been replaced by machinery, activated regulated and moved through restricted soul energy coursing through their veins as blood would on a fully biological human.

The change of energy source makes them effectively immune to the green plague, which is transmitted through blood. In place of a heart they have a still unnamed chamber (Ch1), acting akin to a cockpit housing a freshly created soul, which is replaced by converting experience farmed in the previous lifecycle to the next, taking the raw energy and morphing it into a new soul. As souls are neither human nor animal but simply an energy cluster made of (if found post mortum) memories and life experience this can easily (and understandably) be transferred, even if the origin of the experience in question happens to be non-sentient. The experience is collected and stored within yet another unnamed organ replacing their left kidney (Ch2).

But do not be fooled, this process by no means makes them immortal. If the body is in critical shape it will resort to exporting the active soul and using the remaining soul energy still running through the machinery to activate the emergency program. In this state the body will do nothing but return to whatever point the machine has clocked as “safe” (this kind of reset happens when the person is resting for an extended period of time, as it marks said area as safe enough to stay vulnerable within.) and fix its injuries back to base point, excluding the bio-matter, as there no longer is any such material around. Through the expelling of the last soul, and slow process of developing a new one, the machine will power down there until the next energy burst. This means that even though the body itself remains alive, every life cycle houses a different person. If you see the same NeoBuilder twice it is therefore not guaranteed it will come with the same intention, as it might be a completely different soul speaking through the same form.

If the damage is too bad however, the NeoBuilder will shut down and cannot be reactivated unless one with actual knowledge of how to do so were to interfere. The how has been lost to history however, we blame the creature of despair and decay that shall not be named. It is different from deactivation, as it renders the body permanently dead. Many NeoBuilders have deactivated, we assume only 9 of the previous 30 remain.

We have no idea as to why these manmade humanoids were created, as the why has also been buried and lost to years of untouched unaddressed missing history.

Infact, their names are quite new, till about half a century ago, due to my own research if I may pat myself on the back, we had assumed them to be a strange strain of plague infested ancients, as they’d always remained distant to us and a dead specimen was a more than rare find. It is not a fully worked out name whatsoever, the “Builder” merely connecting them to the Artisan family, and the word “Neo”- as in “New” replacing the word “Ancient” we’ve been using to describe the other half of the family thus far, it is a placeholder by all means, but so is the latter.

Their nature would definitively make them more akin to bio-mechanical golems, however we chose to group them into the artisan family for the previously mentioned bio material, which matched identical to that of the mummified remains cave divers had found a few years back lodged between long forgotten pathways shut to time. Wasn’t a pretty sight when they showed me. One would think after a good few millennia they’d be nothing but a pile of ash and bones, but low oxygen levels within the closed off cave system made for some awfully good preservation, not pretty I dare say, I’m just glad nothing snapped at me during inspection as, perhaps in this case thankfully, the undead plague only infects the living; anything that doesn’t breathe and lacks running blood cannot fall victim to such a thing. But personal tangent aside, some interesting notes here:

- Despite the soul of the Neobuilder swapping with each lifecycle they generally keep the same base morals of the previous host.

- it seems Mother Earth isn’t very fond of them for whatever reason. The undead are very manageable if one isn’t around, but as soon as one chooses to stay in close vicinity it very quickly gets nearly impossible to maneuver, they’re like a magnet. It seems this is the reason they rarely last longer than 20 years within a single lifecycle.

- they’re actually quite cooperative, and many have learned our language. Though sorrowfully it appears they only store a single slot for their language, and forget all other information of a previously spoken one upon interaction (perhaps they were meant as a situational translation device?). I’ve attempted my best to reteach them, but I’m no linguist; I limit my research to history, with a limited understanding of biology. To figure out the mechanics alone I had to get a whole other villager to help my case.

- despite a large portion of their flesh being replaced by mechanical components an extra layer of the fat cells within the subcutis create an artificial layer of flesh like material dampening any slashes at the golem like form below.

More research to be added once I acquire more material to work with. This is a work in progress.

Understudied field, more research either classified information or unable to be attained due to both lack of examples and individuals willing enough to risk their lives acquiring such needless information. Ivan D. P. Retired shortly after writing his book discussing categorized biological information regarding the entities within our realm, which has since been removed from the market. The authors doctor title has been revoked due to a less than fortunate suspected alliance with the Illager cult on his end, so choose the information you’re willing to believe wisely, the villages dislike him for a reason.

We sincerely apologize but certain behaviors are to be taken seriously regarding the issues the cult on the outskirts has caused us in the past. Rumors have to be believed regarding individuals actively choosing to house away from the masses for whatever reason, to keep the general public safe.

Moving just out of sight to dedicate your life to dissecting humanoids on your dinner table is not normal behavior and was it not for his living position would hastily be investigated,

ler wolf channie who takes it as a playful game to catch up to the human, immediately pouncing onto the human gently and panting happily from the new game that he’s playing, squishing the human like dough underneath him.

ler wolf channie who smiles from ear to ear when his tail rubs against the human’s side, earning a panicked squeak from below him; he knew what it meant from his playful fights with his own pack.

ler wolf channie who immediately rakes his claws softly up and down the human’s ribs, trying to be gentle not to injure his new ‘friend’, his tail doing its work on one of the human’s underarms.

ler wolf channie who smiles like an idiot when he sees the guy burst into high pitched cackles, pounding the grass as he tries to crawl away to no avail, screaming in hysterics when fluffy wolf ears find their way to his neck.

ler wolf channie who reluctantly lets his friend go when he sees the human on the verge of passing out, slowly climbing off him and staring his ‘friend’ with his scent by secretly rubbing his paws onto his cheeks to wipe away the tears; he was going to find him no matter what.

isn't it crazy how they canonically designed tiifu, zuri, and kiburi with eyeshadow? made me think of them working with makeup in a human au tbh but what are your thoughts?

It’s a VERY creative design choice and I like it. It really suits Tifu and Zuri’s characters and it just looks good on Kiburi! They all TOTALLY know how to use makeup in a human au, though it’s always surprising to hear tips from Kiburi lmao.

In my personal HS au where they’re all humans, Kiburi learns how to do it from makeup tutorials and uses it to help Ucheshi put it on when there’s a special event (ex: the prom or homecoming). He enjoys it so much he tries on a little bit of eyeliner himself

Mr Sandman Side Story

Title: Hidden In The Sand

(TW: brief mention of abandonment. Brief shooting/gun mention. Light Swearing)

First part: set many years before TDOJ

Second part: set weeks before the canon story begins.

The young boy, around the ages of 7-9 ran around in his backyard. It was midnight on a Saturday and he was having the time on his life! The fireflies were so pretty. Leo grabbed onto his toy action figure before putting it into his toy car. In the distance…a woman silently watched him. She let out a hum at she stood at the back door before looking back inside at the kitchen. The woman scratched at her head before turning back to the young boy and calling out to him.

Zuri Saldana: “Leo! Come inside! Snacks are ready. And make sure you don’t leave anything outside, you know how these thugs get!”

Leo immediately perked up and smiled. Finally! Some snacks! Sure…it’s midnight but his mom just made his favorite thing! Sand tarts! Leo quickly rushed to clean up the backyard, making sure he didn’t forget anything before running inside with a quick and eager “thank’s ma”. Zuri sighed and shook her head with a small smile before looking over at the young boy’s sandbox….she had put something in there a year or two ago..but ever since he’s been here, he hasn’t tampered with that sandbox one bit. Probably because of his dumbass father telling him that he’ll get snapped at by fire ants in the sand years ago…ugh…he just doesn’t want the boy having fun. She thought about what she had put in there before smiling…he’ll find it eventually. She just knows it.

Years pass…Leo was 20 now. He pulled out his keys, unlocking the door to his house before yawning as he stepped inside. He had just been on a long trip delivering some stuff from neighbor to neighbor. He should probably get inside before they start shooting or something…that always happens around this time of night. He looked at the Calander…August 11th. Huh… He looked around for a bit…hm…something feels wrong. He looked down below his feet and saw an ant crawling around. As normal, he stomped on it. He closed the door.

Leo: “Ey, Ma! You here?”

After a moment of silence or so…he actually got a reply! From…the backyard? He rose a brow and quickly ran over to the back door, dodging the couch that he was about to run into. He opened the door and stepped outside before noticing his mom sitting in the sandbox. What the..? He walked over in confusion before crossing his arms.

Leo: “Whatchu doin’ in there in the sand for? You ain’t lost your mind have you?”

Zuri: “Boy! I ain’t lose nothing! Cmon..help me dig.”

Leo seemed confused but..complied anyway. He kneeled over and began to help her dig. It took at least 2 minutes before his hand hit something…a box? He noticed his mom smile excitedly when they found it, watching her immediately go to pull it out. He helped her when he noticed that she was struggling however. After the duo got the box out, she smiled and placed it down before unlocking it.

Zuri: “Leo, I got this for you 14 years ago…and with recent times, it’s very valuable! I’m giving you this now because I’m just…so proud of you and I wanna thank you for helping me out.”

She reached into the box and after a few seconds…pulled out a bunch of golden jewelry. One of them however…had a particularly precious stone on it. Was that a real sunstone? Where did she get this!? Leo was shocked at the sight. He stood completely still as she put the jewelry on him. It looked amazing! When he recovered from his shock, he smiled.

Leo: “Wow- I…thanks ma..”

Zuri: “of course! Anything for my boy.”

She leaned over and immediately hugged him. He looked around…sure it’s pretty dark out but that’s embarrassing. He sighed either way and hugged her back. She was always the best to him..he wouldn’t trade her for the world.

Mr Sandman sat silently in his cage. Was he sleeping? Maybe…he didn’t seem to notice the ants that had crawled into his cell…but he did register the feeling of one crawling onto him. He looked down at the thing before crushing it with a pinkie. Ugh…ants. He hates ants. Always did. He huffed before leaning back…he suddenly remembered something. He looked around in silence before looking down at his arm and slowly unsheathing one of the spikes within it and looking at what was on the spike. Jewelry. The same jewelry he got from his mom. He’s surprised he managed to sneak this past the toys to be honest…but you know…it’s hard to find anything when it’s buried, hidden in the sand. He examined the stones for a bit more before sighing to himself and leaning back.

Mr Sandman: “Yeah…thanks, ma. Means a lot.”

I managed to finish her so here's Zury's little girl Aurelia! :

She's nine and the oldest of the bunch

Her first meeting with Zury was probably one of the most quiet ones, being mostly silent trying to process the whole mess that just happened and also she understood better than the others in what position she was and didn't want to make her newly discovered mother mad at her. The night she lost her father was... Something to say the least, her demon form activated by accident in public and that was how the witches found her.

Not me realizing at this point after the forth kid that I haven't explained why the witches want them-. It's because of their hearts, their hearts have more magic than normal ones and can be used in rituals, potions, sacrifices and to gain more power, also they're targeted when younger because it's easier to capture them and kill them

She was born with black hair, but when she became five it started to turn white like her mother's, which isn't normal for this type of kids as things like hair and eye colors remain the same unless it has to do with their powers like Azure who changes colors with her emotions, Aurelia it's not one of those. Solomon thinks that maybe she has more magic than expected for her age and the way her body decided to get rid of the excess was trough her hair since her body could not tolerate any other way. On another note, the demon's forms are more painful than the angel's because of the horns, because it's practically bone ripping from your head and possibly skull so it causes headaches until it fully grows (except in cases where it's made of something else, like Azul's), Zury has the biggest and thickest horns from the friend group and so does Aurelia and it would take the longest for it to be done, which gives her very bad migraines all the time. She's learning to fly but her wings can't lift her up too much yet

Aurelia is way too smart, but also too straightforward and honest, she has no filter and will say what she thinks, like her father who didn't care that much of being polite and said things as they were and was basically, a troublemaker at school, (he stopped getting in trouble after she was born, but he never lost his silver tongue) the difference is, she does it unconsciously and she thinks she is doing it right, but it makes her seem rude and mean, she has made Nikolai cry more than once because of that and also got in fights with Azure and Kabir

This made her have a phase where she wouldn't say anything in fear of doing something wrong until Zury made her understand what was wrong and how to fix it, it took a while but she managed to get better and be able to interact with the other hybrid kids who also started to understand how was her way of thinking and now they don't take it at heart right away if she slips (they totally make her go wild when someone is annoying them, kids outside of their friend group are scared of her), however she is sassy and would nagg at them like the oldest she is when they want to go crazy

She's always well dressed thanks to her mother, she doesn't have an only style but she likes dark academia and fantasy, is self aware of her hair being weird even among others like her so if Zury doesn't stile it she won't, she would even try to hide it because it attracts to much attention, but lets her friends and family play with it or stile it because they say is pretty (Azure loves it because she's not the only one with white hair and gives her accessories in different colors depending in Aurelia's emotions, to match with her). Between her friends there's Zarala (Lucifer's kid) who she admires, and strangely enough, Lionel, who is the only one who would also be direct with her and the only half angel with who she managed to befriend (they're also both the same age)

Thanks for adding the detail of why hybrids are hunted by witches, it makes things clearer😌even the little explanation about horns was very informative☺I'm also happy Aurelia managed to make some friends despite her bluntness, I imagine it must be stressful being the eldest of the fankids though😂🙈

Zarala (Lucifer's child) is new yet intriguing🤔while Lionel's part made me chuckle because, even if I didn't mention it, the relationship between Zuri and Uriel is...a work in progress so to speak😅because Uriel admired Zuri when she was an angel, she wanted to be as strong and efficient as her, however Uriel felt betrayed when she fell from the Celestial Realm, her trust shattered, not understanding that Zuri could no longer bear such hollow existence, while Zuri would consider Uriel's prospects unfounded and that it was none of her business if she was the pure being she once was admired, she was busy saving her friends who had fallen alongside her in the Celestual War, unlike Uriel (can you feel the tension? Mostly from the warrior angel-)😖So I imagined Aurelia and Lionel playing, while Zuri and Uriel would stay in a awkward silence, trying to chat for the sake of their children, for example Uriel muttering about whether Zuri is still skilled with her lance (Zuri's weapon), while Zuri would look at Uriel with a raised eyebrow as if to say:"Is that seriously the only topic you can think of?"🤣

Two humans from Knife's AU Chara and Zuri. Determination and Kindess So some additional information, Knife's AU took place back when Sans was still in the field of science. And he was good friends with Chara. They studied DT for a few years before Something happened. After a few years of nothing but a broken sans and an empty underground, another human fell. He decided to try and protect them. And for a while, he did. He taught them to hunt, to fight, hell, to hide their magic. But one day, Zuri went out to find food. And something broke. They fell into some kind of tear in reality. And everything about them was inverted
