Vintagebeef and time loop?
The second-most annoying thing, he thinks, is that his crops just won't grow.
He's wanted to retire for a while now. Head out and live on a farm. Get some rest. Not have to worry about gunfire and business fronts and drugs and appearances and being in charge. He'd known he wouldn't be able to escape fully. Beef always knew he was on a timer, no matter how he tried to bury the hatchet and bury his past behind you. It always catches up.
He had a big name. He had a big life. He can't just retire from being head of Big Salmon, even if his loyal Skizzleman is the only person he told where he was going. One day, someone will catch up with him, and perhaps if he's lucky they'll turn his tractor into a car bomb. If he's unlucky, it'll be personal.
So in a lot of ways, really, the fact he keeps on waking up in the morning is a gift. It may be the same morning over and over again, sure, but he collects the eggs from his chickens, and he pats his dog, and he feeds his pigs, and he feels the sun shine on his face in a place that smells nothing like asphalt and fumes.
If his tomatoes would grow, it'd be nearly perfect, getting to wake up again and again in the sun like this. It's better than a man like him deserves, really. And it may be Wednesday, and Wednesday, and no tomorrows, but he didn't have himself much of a tomorrow anyway, and collecting the eggs from the chickens is nearly as good as harvesting the crops.
Quiet, and peaceful.
Or it should be. But see: the crops not growing are the second-most annoying thing.
The first most annoying is--
"HALLO! I have decided that this time, I am announcing I am here to assassinate you, ah? That way, you won't see it coming and manage to escape."
Beef groans and puts his head in his hands. A red dot appears on his temple.
"Don't try to run. You have a lovely home, of course, and I don't want to put holes in it. You've repaired those holes real fast, I have to say. You're a real hole expert. No, wait, that sounds terrible in English. Ah well, I'll just say it again."
It's him again.
"...hello? VintageBeef? I have been hired to kill you by your rivals? You aren't even moving. See, this is how you always get me. You do not move and I think I have killed you, then I come back in the morning and it is fixed! Very strange, very strange."
He hasn't realized it's a time loop. Somehow. Beef's tried to tell him. It's a little hard when he's busy being as annoying as possible, and ruining what would otherwise be the best chance for Beef to retire he's got.
"Well, okay, I guess I'll just pull the trigger. This is boring. You're boring, except for the part where you won't die. Hey, wait, maybe you can introduce me to your chickens instead? So next time I can bring you a totally safe chicken."
"Go away," Beef says.
"But I'm being paid so much money to kill you!" the famed assassin codenamed Iskall85 says. "We're friends, aren't we?"
"No!"
"But I've tried to do this so many ways!"
"Have you considered there's a reason it's not working?"
Iskall considers for a moment. "Naaaaah," he says, and Beef's instincts flare all at once. He dives to the ground as Iskall takes the shot. "Awww, no fair. I thought you were not moving."
"What do you want from me," Beef says.
"I mean, I feel like I've been pretty clear," Iskall says, and Beef doesn't say that he's not even asking Iskall at this point. He's asking the universe. He's asking this Wednesday. He's asking why this has happened to him.
The universe, of course, does not respond, and Beef ducks behind cover for yet another day of his peaceful time loop retirement being completely ruined.

🐝 title: (kksk) Cats!
Feline, fearless, faithful and true-- that's all Sakura ever wanted to be in Sasuke's eyes. But she knows there's no hope of ever capturing his gaze, much less his attention, without first passing her humble pedigree as show-breed material.
Enter Kakashi, an alley cat who claims to know all she needs to walk the scene, to strut the strut, and to capture the coveted title that even Sasuke seeks: Best in Show.
But how does an alley cat even know anything about the cut-throat world of cat shows? Why, of all cats, help her? Will Sakura finally be seen by Sasuke, or will she fall for the street-wise cat whose tongue is as slick and silver as his coat?

Candy Shop AU + Historical AU (welcome back Willy Wonka)
(AU game from *checks notes* June 😬)
Howdy! I've had my thoughts on this kicking around for a little while, but it took a bit to write them down; sorry about that.
Okay! So! Newsies is already historical, so I guess this would just. also be set in the past. Or maybe it'd be set before 1899? Anyway.
My thought for this is that the Jacobs family runs a candy shop. It's not super profitable but it makes enough to stay afloat, and Sarah, David, and Les all enjoy helping out when they can/after school.
Things go south when their parents unexpectedly die, and they may be pretty young but they don't want to lose their parents and the store, so they just...try to keep it afloat, even though they're two teenagers and a kid who have definitely not been trained in running a business and all that entails. I'd like some of the other newsies to make guest appearances, so I'm going to say when David and Sarah try to figure out how to do all the necessary accounting they get Race, a kid from their neighborhood, to help out and use his mathematical abilities for good for once.
I think there would have to be a conflict beyond two scared, grieving teenagers (and their younger brother) trying to continue the family business - maybe someone catches wind of the fact that this store is now being run entirely by children? So either David and Sarah would have to argue that they're capable of running the store themselves, thanks, or they'd have to find an adult who's willing to work with them/can handle answering to a couple 16-17 year olds.
Is this realistic? Probably not. But there probably exists a middle grade/YA novel with a similar plot, so.

New ask game! Please recommend at least three of your favorite BuckTommy fic authors, artists, meta writers, gif makers, or edit makers. Maybe sing their praises a bit if you'd like. And if you want to, send this to a few other people and spread the good vibes 🥰
@thatmexisaurusrex thanks for the ask!
BuckTommy Fan Work Recs
Fic Authors:
(obviously this isn't a comprehensive list, but a collection of fics I've read recently and really enjoyed)
all the vices i can't give up by @starryeyedjanai - this one is so fun and hot, I love sexting/identity porn fics so obviously I clicked right away. I also really enjoy this author's Buck pov; just funny, horny, zero impulse control Evan Buckly and his dick pics against the world.
one way trip to the sun by @newtkelly - this fic felt like a special treat crafted specifically for me. Zombies are my all time favourite movie monster and I'm a big George Romero junkie so finding a bucktommy/dawn of the dead mashup was like striking gold. I also just really loved this version of Tommy and also the narrative structure of the fic. Some really cool stuff done here.
You’ve Got Me Up in a Frenzy by @emphasisonthehomo - Trans!Tommy. Trans!Tommy with bottom surgery, how I love you so. This is so sweet and hot and nuanced and also fun. 10/10.
bright as the morning, soft as the rain. series by @milominderbindered - these were some of the first buck/tommy fics I read and I really loved this version of an alternate first meeting. Buck and Tommy's dynamic here is so cute and fun and flirty, I enjoyed reading Buck's slower realization here that, yes, this man in flirting with him, and oh boy is he into it. Also, there's just something about this version of tommy that really gets me, it's like I can see through the screen how much of an absolute catch he is.
1-800-DAYBREAK by @epiphainie - (ngl I love all your fics) but this one especially. I just really enjoyed seeing a younger Tommy and Buck here where their dynamic is flipped--Tommy being the one unsure of himself and Buck reassuring him that what he wants is okay-- it was also very hot and sweet. I'm a big sucker for phone sex operator fics, so this just reeled me right in instantly.
Goon by @alchemistc - I did not foresee my venture outside of hrpf to end up with me reading hrpf... This has everything I love about the genre and it's best tropes: hotel escapades, and locker room intimacy, and the hero worship to sexuality realization pipeline (...and Sidney Crosby haunting the narrative). Looking forward to seeing how it ends!
Paint Me in Neon and Make Me Glow by @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels - Fun, sexy, caring, D/s kink-discovery. I love how out of his mind horny Buck is for Tommy in this, and for being watched, and specifically getting watched WITH Tommy. I loved every section of this fic and how the author kept upping the stakes as they built towards the climax (ha) of the fic, which I wont spoil but you should definitely got find out for yourself.
take guesses on exits, one has to be right series by @queermccoy - The trucker!Tommy / lot lizard!Buck AU I didn't know I needed but am now eagerly awaiting the next instalment of. This was surprisingly cute and as well as scorchingly hot.
bottom tommy pleasures series by winterbucky (WinterLadyy) (if anyone knows their tumblr @ i'll tag them) - Just what it says on the tin! Bottom!Tommy I love you 😌
Artists:
@kinardsboy - Their art is always so fun and cute! I love all the buck/tommy memes they make.
@blue-arts-stuff - Their art is both sweet and also manages to hit me in the feels every time.
@lazybakerart - All of their art is beautiful, but I especially love what they've done for the @kinley-cafe!
(And of course Kinley Cafe itself for doing an amazing job spreading positivity and engagement within the fandom.)
Gif Makers/Editors:
@lengthofropes - their gifs are all so gorgeous, I don't understand how they manage half the stuff they do, but I love staring at it an inch away from my face like brightly coloured visual candy.
@sunglassesmish - my Tommy Kinard / LFJ gif dealer and has provided me with enough images of the man to construct a 3D model in my mind to rotate while painting.
@xofemeraldstars - I always look forward to their daily kinley posts! My obsession is being enabled and i'm okay with that.

space au neighbor au steddie
So I wasn't actually sure what a space AU is meant to entail, so I hope a little vaguely Star Trek-inspired AU is okay?? This was a challenging combination, but it was fun!
Fanfiction Trope Mashup: 22. Space AU + 11. Neighbor AU
cw: vague mentions of injury, mentions of background character death
-
Lieutenant Steven Harrington transfers from the U.S.S. Nora and onto the U.S.S. Forrest about six months into the Forrest’s mission. He works in security. He can usually be found stationed somewhere on the ship, but sometimes he’s called up to go planetside.
(He’s also too pretty for Eddie to believe he’s one hundred percent human, but that’s neither here nor there.)
Eddie knows all of this because Harrington gets the previously vacant room right next door to his.
It isn’t bad, really; sometimes the sound of someone shuffling around on the other side of a wall that had previously been silent is comforting. Much as Eddie loves the hum of the ship around him—you can’t really work in engineering and not be a little enamored of the sound of the engines purring—sometimes human noise is what he craves.
(Particularly out here in the void of space. Eddie loves his job, loves working in the guts of a starship, but he wishes sometimes it didn’t come against the backdrop of an endless dark nothingness.)
Eddie doesn’t have reason to see Harrington very often during the day, but they work the same shift rotation, and they catch each other coming back to their rooms now and then at the end of a shift. They mostly exchange nods or waves, brief pleasantries if one of them is in the mood, but that’s really it.
At least, that’s really it until a few weeks in, when Eddie gets back to his room and sees Harrington still standing outside his own, mashing the buttons on the keypad and swearing quietly.
“Everything alright?” Eddie asks as he draws up at his own door.
Harrington lets out a long sigh. “Uh, yeah, just–” He shakes his head. “Apparently if you get your code wrong too many times in a row, the keypad locks you out. And you can’t get into your quarters. Which is… great.”
“You forget your code?” Eddie can’t help but ask.
“No,” Harrington snaps, then softens a little, looking sheepish, even a little embarrassed. “No, I just– sometimes the numbers get a little jumbled.”
“Ah.”
“Yeah. Anyway, I’m gonna have to go find someone from maintenance to reset this and let me in, so…”
“Nah, don’t bother. You’ve got in-built tech support right here.” Eddie gestures for Harrington to move aside and crouches down in front of the keypad to reset it; doors and security locks aren’t technically his remit, but it’s not like they’re hard. It’s the work of moments to get the keypad to unlock, and Eddie shuffles back out of the way. “Go ahead and try it now.”
Harrington steps up to the keypad and slowly punches in the six-digit code that should get him into his quarters, and this time, instead of beeping angrily and flashing red, it chirps and gives him the green light. His door slides open and Harrington sighs.
“Thank you,” Harrington says, turning a smile so bright on Eddie that he momentarily forgets how to function. “You’re a lifesaver.”
“Nah, t’weren’t nothin’,” Eddie says for some insane reason, slipping into a ridiculous accent like he does when he’s running tabletop games in the rec room with a couple of other guys from engineering.
If Harrington thinks he’s being weird, he mercifully doesn’t mention it. Instead, he sticks a hand out towards Eddie, still smiling. “I’m Steve, by the way. I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced.”
“Eddie,” Eddie says, taking the hand to shake (Steve’s hands are big, and strong, and warm, and Eddie tries not to think about it).
“It’s nice to meet you, Eddie. And not even for the obvious reasons,” Steve says, nodding towards his door.
“Yeah, you too,” Eddie says.
He then realizes that he’s still shaking Steve’s hand. He lets go, but Steve is slow to draw back. They’re quiet for a moment, both unsure how to end the encounter, before Steve lets out a little huff of a laugh.
“Well… have a good night,” he says, backing away towards his door.
“Yeah, you too,” Eddie says again, wondering where the hell all his eloquence has gone to.
With one last dorky little wave at Eddie, Steve disappears inside his room, and Eddie does the same.
They talk more, after that. Whenever their schedules coincide, they spend an extra few minutes outside their doors, learning more about each other, bit by bit. Eddie talks about why he’d joined up with a starship even though he really hates space (he’d had to get out of his small-minded hometown), and Steve talks about how he’d ended up really enjoying his work even though he’d only joined to appease his dad (captain of another ship, one Steve prays he’ll never, ever be assigned to).
Their conversations edge past five minutes, past ten, past fifteen. Eddie talks about his uncle, who taught him at least half of everything he knows about fixing things, who had encouraged him to reach for the stars. Steve talks about his best friend in the galaxy, who works up in communications and speaks “about a million languages.” He mentions that they’d met as ensigns, both stationed on the U.S.S. Butterscotch, but he doesn’t say much more than that (and Eddie won’t make him; he knows the story already. The ship might have had a ridiculous name, but the fate that had befallen it had been anything but: it had been taken over by hostiles and eventually gone down in flames. The number of survivors had been abysmal, and fact that Steve is here at all is a small miracle).
Steve learns that Eddie loves music and roleplaying games. Eddie learns that Steve has a knack for avoiding medical staff after altercations planetside and for brushing off minor-to-moderate injuries.
He’s not as good at avoiding Eddie, however, who makes a point of dragging him down to medical one evening after spotting a still-bleeding gash on Steve’s arm.
“One of these days, you’re gonna come back with something you can’t walk off,” Eddie warns him, “and I’ll be there to say I told you so.”
“Well, as long as you’re going to be there, I guess it won’t be so bad,” Steve replies, and Eddie tries not to be swayed by the flirting.
When Eddie turns out to be right, though, he doesn’t even have the heart to say I-told-you-so, which he feels a bit cheated about later.
The evening starts out so promisingly: Steve and Eddie are loitering outside their doors, Steve gravitating further and further into Eddie’s space as they talk, and Eddie is just about to pluck up the nerve to invite Steve inside when Steve’s communicator goes off.
He frowns, pulling it from his pocket to check the message, and his demeanor immediately turns serious. “I have to go,” he says, and apprehension prickles at the base of Eddie’s skull.
“Everything alright?” Eddie asks.
“I’m sure it’ll be fine.” Steve offers Eddie a brief smile. “We can pick up where we left off as soon as this is taken care of.”
Eddie wants to ask just what “this” is, but he finds out soon enough. The promising evening turns into a hellish night with too little sleep and too many hits to the machinery for comfort, under attack from some unknown, hostile force. When things finally calm down and reports start rolling in, things aren’t as bad as they could be. No casualties, minor damage to the ship, and minimal injuries. It sounds reassuring, until Eddie finds himself standing next to Steve’s bed in the infirmary.
“I’m going to be fine. Stop looking at me like that,” Steve says, even though his eyes are closed and he can’t possibly know how Eddie is looking at him.
And the thing is, Eddie knows he’s right – Steve might sound an awful lot like he’s in pain right now, but the medical tech on the ship is top of the line, and the staff is equally good. Steve will be fine, but that doesn’t give Eddie any comfort right then, realizing how lost he would feel without his and Steve’s hallway conversations every day.
How lost he would feel without Steve.
It scares him– for a moment, it scares him enough that he wants to run from it, to put a halt to things before they get too serious, before this really hurts him. But even more than that, there’s a feeling greater than the fear: one of rightness when he’s with Steve, a feeling that’s worth the risk, that’s worth holding onto.
Eddie reaches out and takes Steve’s hand where it rests on the bed.
Steve cracks his eyes open to look at Eddie.
“You know…” he says slowly. “They said I should be fine on my own by tomorrow, good to go back to my own quarters, but– I’d feel a lot better if there was someone nearby. Just in case.”
“Like someone right next door?” Eddie asks, a tease of a smile beginning to grow on his face.
“Maybe a little closer than that,” Steve says, squeezing Eddie’s hand in his own.
“I think I can do that,” Eddie says, finding that he’s prepared to do a lot of things, if it means he can keep Steve close.

18 & 63 for the trope mashup please! <3
Tumblr media
18. Circus AU and 63. Everybody knows, mistaken for a couple ^from the prompt mash ups game!
This is a Cirque du Soleil AU where Norris and Piastri are two trapeze artists who made huge names for themselves in their individual countries. They get paired up for new show, and it involves a really tricky sequence that people are convinced is not possible and has never been done before, let alone by two guys.
They have a couple of near misses on the attempts to nail the trick, and the whole gang is watching carefully from the safety nets. People are biting their nails, and george is totally double checking the insurance papers and trying not to freak out.
Anyway, Oscar hangs upside down on the bar, totally chill. on the platform, Lando shakes the last of his nerves from his fingers. he slides a firm grip down his own bar, the one place that’s been so familiar for so many years, and he takes a breath. It’s beyond conscious thought, it’s just muscle memory, stepping into the air. With faith that the other man will meet him, in that millisecond between complete connection and the plummet.
Hands. It’s all in the hands. Lando's own fingertips moulding to the floor the first time he nailed a handstand, someone else’s careful hands that taught him his first few balances and tucks. The way his hands bled bloody and blistered, until he worked up the requisite strength.
Now, Lando grips the bar steady with both hands. Now, the steady rhythm in the pit of his stomach. Once, three times, four — the pendulum hits the peak of the apex.
Lando jackknifes through the air, and he’s twisting, house lights blurring in his vision.
Oscar waits, hands outstretched.
Then, a firm clasp from a smaller hand. Callouses pressed against his own. Years of practice, leading up to this point of contact.
His body knows before his mind does. The snap of gravity into the right place, when moving object meets opposing force. It’s Oscar’s counter-rhythm that stops him falling, Oscar’s nimble strength that matches his own. The way they do this in silence, carefully cultivated trust. In that moment, their bodies are a marvel of physics.
Below, the cast erupts in whoops and cheers. Lando wants to run around, wants to scream, but in that moment there’s not really an option - he just clasps Oscar’s forearms, and lets himself be swung.
“Well.” Oscar says, wry. “That was easy.”
Lando looks up. “Yeah. Only took fifty four tries.”
Lando can tell Oscar’s trying not to laugh. Oscar's hands stay steady though.
Someone captures the footage and it takes a while to get going, but then they’re doing numbers on socials. Cirque marketing figures this could get momentum and gradually shares more behind the scenes footage of them both: heads bowed together to talk about the tricks, tightening their wrist wraps, dusting chalk off each other, and laughing as they sip their energy drinks. They even get a portmanteau: landoscar.
The final show is obviously a massive hit. Lando and Oscar’s segment ends up being a lyrical interpretation of the life of a papaya or something. It’s Seb Vettel’s show about the lifespan of plants and bees so they’re just rolling with the vision.
When Pride comes around, the two of them step out to get coffee and a snack at their regular spot. The barista waves at them and says: “a year's free coffee for the happy couple! thank you so much for repping queer excellence in the arts.”
And Oscar’s like, “oh, uh. I mean. I am. But we– we’re not…”
Then Lando turns to him. The morning light looks good on Oscar. Oscar who always lends him sports tape, always lets him order lunch first, and always, always leans forward to catch him. In or out of the ring, he is the partner Lando trusts more than anything in the world.
So Lando tugs on Oscar’s hoodie sleeve, and is like: “actually, I’d meant to ask you…”

Heyyy so firstly just wanna say I love lwgyh and your writing is beautiful. For the event you’re thinking about doing what about either coffee shop/bookstore au or dystopia au with Bakugou?
you're so sweet 🥺💞 i'm so glad you're enjoying lwgyh, and thank you for reading!
so—i'm not sure if you're referring to the build-a-fic event i was talking about last week or the fanfic trope mashup game i reblogged recently!! i'm going to assume it's for the game, since those AUs you mentioned are listed 🙏
6. Coffee Shop AU 💖 Bakugou Katsuki x Reader
“Hey.”
“Hey,” you say, voice distant, distracted. “One sec, okay?”
You don’t wait for a response, continuing to pipe out frosting, wanting to finish this complicated design while you’re in the groove of things.
After a minute, you exhale and lean back. The cake looks good. You’re positive your client’s going to be pleased.
You look up.
Bakugou’s leaning against the kitchen doorway, watching you. His arms are crossed. You’re surprised he hasn’t come over to hover over your shoulder, pressuring you to finish up and give him your full attention. It’s what he always does—impatient, overbearing. Distracting.
He’s lucky you like him, despite it all.
These last two years contracted with his coffee shop, providing them with baked goods, were rough at times. Bakugou’s ruthless, demanding, only wanting the best and things his way. He’s not afraid to say what’s on his mind, and he doesn’t care how it comes out. It’s resulted in several arguments between the two of you. But you’ve come to an understanding, now. You respect his high standards, and he respects your expertise.
“You hear for the week’s shipment? You’re early,” you say, cocking your head.
“Here to go over the quantities. We need to increase them again,” he says.
“Really?” You smile, pleased. “That’s great news!”
Your smile fades into a frown. “Oh, but I can’t tonight. I’m going to the small business association meeting.”
Bakugou clicks his tongue. “Then we’ll meet after. I’ll wait.”
You begin putting away your supplies, the cake, and start cleaning yourself up.
“No can do, Bakugou,” you say. “Going on a date right after. Let’s meet tomorrow.”
Bakugou scowls. “A date? What dumbass asked you on a date?”
You half turn your body to look at him, hands stuck under the sink, soapy. You glare.
“You’re so rude. I’m not the one who hasn’t gone on a single date in over a year. Loser.” Not like you’re much better. You’ve gone on a couple dates over the past couple years that’ve all amounted to nothing. You keep trying because you think it’ll help you get over this dumb crush on the mean blond in front of you. You’re getting a little desperate.
Bakugou scoffs. “I’m focused on my business, not dating randos.”
You wipe your hands dry and come over to him, looking up into his grumpy face.
“Well, that’s your choice. Now please scooch yourself out of my kitchen and out of my bakery. I’ve got places to be.”
You place your hands on his back and push. You try to ignore the warmth of his skin through his shirt, the breadth of his shoulders.
Predictably, he doesn’t move an inch. Instead, completely unpredictably, he twists around and grabs your wrists, pulling you closer.
Startled, you blink rapidly as he leans in. He smells a little of coffee and whatever detergent he uses. His eyes are such a warm red, so close.
“What—” you start, but stop as the bell above your front door chimes and you hear light footsteps approach the kitchen.
Bakugou releases you just as another blond head pops through the door.
“Hey!” Takami smiles. “Ready to go?”

I have been battling a headache most of the godsdamned day, but I have had enough of a clear head to sit here and muse on AU for One piece characters I will honestly never write.
Wonderland AU:
Luffy is the Cheshire Cat - instead of enigmatic and mysterious, he just keep forgetting what he's supposed to tell you and asking for meat. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb are Zoro and Sanji - but they're not really living up to their namesakes. Friends of the cat, and surprisingly good bodyguards for "Alice". Robin is the catiplillar and Franky is the "mushroom" she's seated on. He's building her wings >.> Nami is the Duchess, but less duchessness and more competence. She's only frustrated cause everyone else is useless comparatively XD the "baby" is Chopper, but he's not an infant, and the two of them are a breath of fresh air and much needed help for Alice. Brook is the White Rabbit and I don't think I need to say anything more on that one. Sabo is the The Hatter, Ace the Dormouse, and I'm not sure for the March Hare. Big Mom is the Queen of Hearts, and Kaido is the King, but he spends the entire time in a drunken sleep, completely unconcerned about what's going on. Most of her children are card knights. I feel like Katakuri would end up rebelling against his mom once it was obvious that Alice wasn't guilty of anything. Doflamingo is a game-master and supplies flamingo shaped items for the games the queen wants to play.
Then I started thinking about Howl's Moving Castle AU with Marco as Howl and I got stuck on that and haven't been able to think of anything else ^^;;; (It would most certainly have a different vibe than the movie or book, given Marco's character, but still. I wish I had the skill to draw that mashup properly.)

You’re abed, dream-slow and almost under when you’re startled awake by the pounding at your door.
Even with the bustle of the Autumn festival preparations, the town had been quiet without the regiment and their patrols. You would not have admitted it out-loud, but you missed the sight of them—the flash of their armour in the sun as they moved through the streets. The stark brightness of their capes, like festival banners. Haru had noticed, you think—trying to demand you out of your worry and your wistfulness by pressing his wild games at you, or hiding the little wooden soldiers Ser Kirishima had carved him among the flowers of the shop.
They are now dotted around your little home, tonight—standing guard as you stumble to your door, still half-asleep. You pause before it when the silence stretches, wondering if perhaps you dreamt it—but then the banging starts again, and fear erupts within you. It could be Akane, or Haru, some kind of disaster befalling one of them—
You do not expect it to be your knight, wild-eyed and breathing hard as he stares up at you from the step.
“Ser—Ser Bakugou!” You croak, opening your door further for him in a silent invitation. “I don’t—has something—?”
In the torchlight of the street, his hair glows gold, the metal of his armour dull, burnished. Your eyes flicker over him, looking for wound or struggle but when you dare to meet his eyes again the knight is scowling, gripping the doorframe so tightly you fear that he will crack the wood.
“You’re whole,” he says, incredulous. It’s not a question, and startles you more than his frenzied midnight banging.
“Yes,” you say, bewildered. “Do I have cause—not to be?”
His jaw tightens as he lets his gaze roam over you in kind; it could almost burn a path along you, scar you, so intense is his assessment and your skin prickles in answer. Though the chemise you went to bed in is modest, brushing your toes and elbows in its length, you feel uneasy. Flimsy. In his armour still, his forest-green cape, Ser Bakugou is dressed for war—solid and imposing as he stands on your threshold. You, in your thin cotton, are unsubstantial before him—woefully unprepared to receive him, barefoot and still warm from your bed.
His eyes are wine-dark, in the night, lip curling as though the same thoughts have occurred to him. You try not to feel as though you are dressed in smoke before him, and focus on the taut pull of his neck, where it’s bare above his collar.
“You’re whole,” he repeats, breathing in sharply, the pulse in his throat jumping. “You’re—dammit! M’gonna kill him!”
The street behind him is empty; it makes his outburst louder. He looks livid to have found you alive and unhurt.
“I’m sorry to hear that displeases you,” you say mildly, earning you a dark glare. “But you cannot stand here, so—come inside, quickly.”
The knight is coiled tightly; tense, primed for a fight. It takes him a slow moment to follow when you retreat into your home, his boots heavy against the wooden floor.
Your home is small, tucked into the back of your little shop as it is. You were proud of it, normally. In the daytime it was warm with the light from the windows. Now, in the night, you move around it silently, lighting what candles you can and filling the space with their flickering.
Ser Bakugou does not sit, standing like one of Haru’s little wooden knights as you restoke the fire of the hearth. The back of your neck pricks with his attention, silent and watchful as you move the kettle back over your stove for him.
“There’s some stew left,” you say to break the silence, turning back to him. His face, serious and smooth in the low light, doesn’t change and your heart thumps wildly in response. You knew what to do with your knight usually, when he was rambunctious or rude or demanding; but this version of him, standing so still and watching you with sharp eyes is foreign to you.
You glance away from him, your heart rabbit-fast, darting amid the garden of your hopes and your fears. There was no reason to react so, around him—but even as you think that you know it a lie, remembering how your lips had parted against his, the last time you were together.
Perhaps your knight was thinking of the same moment. When you set a plate of bread down on your small table for him, a small jug of oil, he doesn’t move—eyes on your face instead, as though he could read your heart through it.
“You must be tired,” you say, desperate for some response from him that wasn’t his looming. He had to be, though; the butcher had only been telling Akane a week ago that the regiment was meant to have made it to the further most town south. A journey that would take weeks, even on horseback.
Instead of replying, Ser Bakugou’s eyes flicker over the table, taking in the bread, the oil you’ve laid out—and one of Haru’s little soldiers, guarding the meal faithfully.
“They’ve been keeping me company,” you say, trying for cheer. “And I’m glad of it. It’s—it’s been lonely in town, without you.”
It’s only when his eyes slide back to yours, sharpening his face you realise your mistake; you had meant without them, Ser Bakugou and the other knights, their noise and activity. But his mouth flattens, coming to some unspoken decision, you think, as he steps closer—his cloak catching at the edge of your table before it pulls away as he edges closer to you.
“I thought you dead,” he says, quiet and low into the space between you. “All ‘cause some idiot rode into camp—ramblin’.”
You think you might combust, your heart is holding itself so tightly. They were meant to be weeks away—
“You—you rode so far?” you whisper, uselessly. At your back the fire of the hearth is warm—what his face catches of its light makes him glow, makes his eyes glow like embers and you wonder what he sees as he stares at you, so close.
He smells of horse—of salty sweat and the campfire sweetness of his magic that follows him everywhere. You swallow, all too aware of how his nostrils flare at the motion, like he could feel it in his own throat.
“Yeah,” he says, rough. “I rode that far.”
For you, he doesn’t add. He might as well have whispered it against your ear—you shudder and he catches your arms, your elbows, one hand brushing along you to the nape of your neck, pulling you into him further as you tilt towards him.
“Y’re alright,” he says, half question, hot against your mouth. His armour is cold and hard against you and your cotton and you can only nod.
“We’re alright,” you whisper back, his lips parting against yours in answer before he curses, soft, and kisses you.

I am cursed with the ability to come up with multiple AU’s and story concepts, but also the inability to actually work on any of them in a coherent way.
Most recently I’ve started playing with the idea of a Four Sword x Tree of Tranquility mashup (very random, yes) but with ships I don’t usually use.
So it’s basically just the setting of Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility with the Colors added on top. I didn’t rip the plot from ToT exactly, but I kept some elements in there that anyone familiar with the game might notice should I do something with this.
Green is the protagonist and new to Waffle Island (might change the name, though every location being food related is kinda funny to me even if it took years for me to realize), but he doesn’t actually do any of the things the ToT protagonist does. I gave that role to a different character, and no one is supposed to know what they’re up to until they’ve finished restoring the island (such is how it goes in ToT).
Red, Blue, Vio, and Shadow are already residents of the island and have lived there for years by the time Green moves in.
Red and Green are one of the pairings I want to work with, they’re pretty sweet on each other right from the get go, but the other ship is Blue, Vio, and Shadow all together. Those three are a bit of a disaster, but it all works out eventually.
I’m thinking of making this a series of one shots in a collection, but the other idea would be an ask blog, if that’s something anyone would even be interested in.
For now I’ll let this simmer on a back burner with my other concepts, but I already have a few ideas for how a story in this au might turn out. If anyone would like to ask questions feel free! I like to ramble.

Open world rpg? Linear storyline? What RPGS are u inspired by for this 👀 any teasers for characters or concepts u havent released yet but wanna share 👀?!? Sorry i i ask too many questions but im excited!!
♣️World of Wonder Masterpost ♠️
Well, it's not just RPGs that inspired the creation of this au... I would hate to even call World of Wonder just an RPG! It's truly more than that.
If anything is a mashup of an RPG, open-world combat, and sandbox-type game (I hope that makes sense). The whole point of the game is for players to wonder the world (Hint that way I called the AU World of Wonder) and create their own adventure (And there is a reason why C&A made it that way!). The more I wrote and created the story, the more I realized that I wanted it to be something like Breath of the Wild, instead of being stuck in an RPG format like Honkia Starrail.
Along with that I added some other concepts I liked into the world which you guys will see in future post
The more I post about the AU the more details and mechanics I plan to share and post about!
But the games that truly inspired this AU are:
Tumblr media
But for the concepts that i haven't shared yet hmmm... Their still in the works and everything but in my next post their will be little lore in there if you can spot it!
♣️World of Wonder Masterpost ♠️
If you guys have any more questions about the AU I would love to hear!
💫Thanks For the Ask💫

LALE MY LOVE this might be the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make for an ask 😭 i gave u a couple options bc I could not completely decide there were too many delicious combinations 🥰 I am SO SO excited to see all the mashups and have a binge reading feast on these, thank you so so much for doing this event 💛
could I pretty please request either Shiu Kong, Toji, or Tengen (demon slayer) with a mashup of the bodyguard AU (14) and either sharing a bed (75) or huddling for warmth (74)?
thank you again for putting this on and blessing us with your utterly wonderful writing, I hope you have so much fun with all of these 💛
LEMMM (*¯ ³¯*)♡ you said that Sanemi was also a fine choice for this, so i took my chance and ran since i haven't written for him before and now i'm dying a little on the inside because i want to write thousands of words for this scenario asdfghjksf. thank you for feeding into my hunger hehe!
➳ Bodyguard AU + Huddling for Warmth
Being the offspring of an influential criminal family has its ups and downs. Do some people shudder when they hear your family name? Yes. Are there others who are thirsting for your life? Also yes. Luckily you have nothing to fear with Sanemi by your side. He takes his role as your bodyguard very seriously–you could say he devoted his life to it, really. For someone as intimidating as Sanemi, his presence is oddly calming, whether he is watching you from the shadows while you’re out with friends or when he is guiding you through a crowd with one hand on the small of his back and the other discreetly on his weapon. Sanemi cares about you deeply, more than he’d ever admit. He isn’t really in the position to act upon his feelings, he knows his place within the family hierarchy and he isn’t thinking so highly of himself to assume he could ever stand as an equal by your side. But intentionally or not, he never leaves any doubt about just how much love and fondness he feels for you. Helping you fix your hair, cutting you a plate of fruit, wordlessly driving you to the sea if that’s what your heart desires–he has long convinced himself those were all very normal bodyguard duties.  So it goes without saying that he’ll slip out of his coat and wrap it around your shoulders when the two of you are out on a midnight stroll in the midst of winter. It’s the first snow of the season and you wanted to see it, ignoring his quiet scoff when you only threw a thin jacket over your pajamas and stomped outside.  “You’ll catch a cold,” he mumbles and reaches around from behind you to make sure his jacket envelops you properly. His frame is much bigger than yours, towering over you, and it’s the safest you ever felt in your whole life. He thinks to himself that he shouldn’t get so close, but he can’t help himself when you sink deeper into his embrace, seeking the warmth of his body, and then his strong arms wrap around you, his head sinking down on your shoulder. Staying like this just for a few heartbeats would be fine, right? But then you whisper out his name and your breath mingles with his in the cold night air and Sanemi isn’t so sure about his resilience anymore.

Bits and Bobs, or the whole g-dabnit list of assorted fanfics by Yours Truly
Okay. Here goes.
A masterlist of all my fics? Here ya go!
Sorted by fandom, in alphabetical order. Whether it’s finished or a WiP will be pretty self-evident in the list, which will be updated as I go.
Baldur’s Gate (1)
A Promise Kept, also known as the BG3 fairytale mashup with Loki the TV series no one asked for.
A Lokius Fantasy Romance set in the BG3 universe, with all the fairytale tropes you can shake a stick at.
When Loki, youngest son of Odin Fraxinus of the Elder Tree, happens upon a charming former Paladin in Baldur’s Gate’s central market, his life is irrevocably changed. He hopes he’s finally found someone who’ll see him for who he truly is, and love him, body, mind and heart.
Unbeknownst to him, former Paladin Mobius not only has a troubled past, but an agenda of his own. Sent to spy on the Elder Trees’ host, Dyllard Portyr, for the tenday, Mobius is tasked to find out if he knows anything about Duke Ravengard’s disappearance. Or, if Odin does.
For, it is said, Odin once made a pact with a devil. A pact no one can discern the extent of, nor its ramifications in the present day.
But one thing is for certain: a promise kept is a promise fulfilled.
I’m posting this in a Series format on AO3, don’t ask me why.
Prologue (1/1)
Act 1: Love's Beginning (2/2)
Act 2: For Love or Duty (1/?)
Act 3: Love’s End (?/?)
Act 4: A Promise Fulfilled (?/?)
No, but literally. For every chapter I posted, it got fewer hits, likes and comments. It's now back as a multi-chaptered fic. Sigh.
Detroit: Become Human (26) (predominantly Hank/Connor RK800, but some Simon/Markus too)
Note: there’s 26 flippin’ fanfics in this category. I’m gonna add them over the weekend. In the meantime, click the fandom link to go to all of them. Below are a few of my own, personal favourites. If I can toot my own horn for a bit.
Metamorph (18/18) - my first ever DBH fic! HankCon, obviously. 137k, I kid you not. After a peaceful Android Revolution, Hank and Connor both try to navigate this new world they’re living in.
Silent Treatment (17/17) - in which the entire game plot is turned into a near-future sci-fi thriller. Go me!
The Knight and the Fool - fairytale mashup time! In which Hank is an old knight who goes to prove himself in a tourney, hoping to keep his farm running.
How to Create a Monster (10/10) - undercover high stakes, badass Connor, separate timelines and POVs.
Being Alive (19/19 ) - so I basically rewrote the whole HankCon third of the game, in a Reverse AU where Human!Cop Connor doesn’t smoke, is not a Gavin Reed knockoff, or “Hank” as played by Bryan Dechart instead of Clancy Brown.
Only You - A what-if spin and continuation on Being Alive, if that fic hadn’t had a happy ending.
Great Pretenders (1/1) - undercover shenanigans meet fake dating/fake relationship! Two of my fave tropes combined!
The Witch and the Werewolf - my prompt fill for a Halloween event. What it says on the tin, really. HankCon reimagined as a historical thriller with Sleepy Hollow vibes. And magic.
Spa Day (5/5) - Porn with Feels, in which Connor lovingly doms the heck outta Hank.
Loki (TV) (7-ish) (Loki/Mobius M. Mobius)
50 Years (1/1)
Between an ancient deity and an analyst with a heart of gold, 50 years isn’t nearly enough. It’s nothing. But it’s also more than long enough. And Loki has an idea for their fiftieth anniversary as lovers.
A Promise Kept - (a fairytale in four acts)  A Lokius Fantasy Romance set in the BG3 universe, with all the fairytale tropes you can shake a stick at.
Loose Ends (6/?)
After the events of Tapestry of Time, Loki has his mind set on going back to Asgard. On his timeline, his branch, to either face the consequences of his actions, or discern Odin's role in everything that led up to his encounter with the Chitauri, and the assault on Manhattan.
Sledgehammer (2/2)
When an anonymous user sends an amateur porn clip to Loki’s TemPad, he doesn’t know what to think. Who sent it to him? Why? But he’s charmed by the easy swagger of a young Don leading the way into his bedroom, drawn in by his confident, laidback sex appeal.
But the longer he watches, the more difficult it is to stop. And once he’s watched the contents of the sex tape, there’s no turning back.
Question is how to keep going forward without inadvertently ruining his friendship with Mobius.
Tapestry of Time (10/10)
After the season finale, the TVA gang is left in a state of shock. None moreso than Mobius, who finds a note tucked into his breast pocket.
It says "I love you. Forgive me."
It changes everything, and sends Mobius on a quest to get Loki back, without dishonoring his sacrifice.
Turns out that's easier said than done.
Variations on the Theme of Us (2/?) - set in the same ‘universe’ as Sledgehammer, but after the events of that fic.
When Loki wants to do something nice for Mobius whether or not they have an actual anniversary coming up, he sneaks off to the Sacred Timeline on a whim.
Unbeknownst to him, the adult toy store he walks into is manned by none other than the Don of his combined wet dreams and nightmares. And Don? Spells all kinds of trouble.
Void (1/1)
Post-S2 finale, Mobius hacks his TemPad to recreate one of his own memories, and uses the time loop chamber thingie to relive it. Over. And over. And over again.
Person of Interest (1) (Reese/Finch)
How Not to Say I Love You (1/1)
When Reese and Finch go undercover to help a Number at a couples therapy weekend retreat, not everything is as it seems, and John has to navigate his own emotions while posing as someone whose situation hits too close to home.

I generally write angsty stuff with positive endings and character studies. I love prose I can sink my teeth into and do my best to write in an interesting way that enhances the story.
