ok so this is a. ranpoe-centric au because i. that is my whole identity. i only produce ranpoe content. so the main plot of the au revolves around ranpo and poe and their relationship as stars of the music industry under the spotlight

[BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE]

the organizations here are all labels / production agencies that the characters happen to work under depending on their affiliation, and the heads of the organizations are the producers that the characters are signed under (ie; ranpo is signed to fukuzawa's agency as a solo jpop idol)

a lot of the plot before My plot parallels the actual bsd plot up until the guild arc but converted into something music industry related (atsushi getting kidnapped and rescued 500 times in canon is turned into the agency and port mafia battling over who will sign indie singer atsushi to their label first in au,)

some characters sing solo, others are in a band. none of this is based off the actual band mayoi cards (though those are very cool and i love them to death)

[ORGANIZATIONS]

THE AGENCY: one of the most famous labels in japan, specializes in producing jpop/jrock/indie musicians. one of its famous associated bands is "moonlitdreams", a bedroom pop band made up of nakajima atsushi (lead singer), izumi kyouka (backing vocals / songwriter), and miyazawa kenji (instrumental)

THE PORT MAFIA: nicknamed the "Port Mafia" for its strict contract, suspected corruption, and harsh treatment of its stars. specializes in jrock / rap. its primary claim to fame is the creation of "Double Black", the jrock band that keeps topping the charts... despite dazai's departure from the band and the Port Mafia label as a whole.

THE GUILD: nicknamed the guild for its exclusivity, it takes in talented singers from all sorts of genres, from punk rock to... erm. religious ska. its publicity contract is notoriously strict, and being seen acting outside of it is enough to get you kicked off the label, no matter your talent. hailing from here is the pop punk band "The Living Dolls", made up of lucy maud montgomery (lead singer / guitarist) and mark twain (drummer / background vocals). formerly, edgar allen poe was their background vocalist and songwriter, but he left the band for unspecified reasons.

edogawa ranpo - jpop / alternative / pop rock singer. his adoptive dad, fukuzawa, runs the Agency, so he's often accused of gaining fame due to nepotism. in truth, the Agency was created for him and his talents, so the nepotism charge is very unfounded. he's a musical prodigy, able to master almost every instrument he lays his fingers on, but the reason for his minor fame despite all of his talents is that he is .... awful at publicity. though he is a likeable public figure, he does not hesitate on being bluntly honest even if it will ruin his reputation. get this man away from talk shows.

(artists: polkadot stingray, necry talkie, kero kero bonito)

edgar allan poe - gothic rock / dark cabaret / pop punk singer. released solo albums along with being a part of "The Living Dolls" up until six years ago. his last public appearance was guest-starring on an international singing competition with ranpo, who openly criticized his work, and then he disappeared for good from the public eye by announcing an indefinite hiatus. just before his hiatus, he posted a twitter statement claiming that his break was "for mental health reasons", but it's widely speculated that it had something to do with the singing competition. despite his total radio silence, his music is incredibly popular among certain circles (goths and emos) and they anticipate any signs of him coming back from hiatus.

lucy maud montgomery - pop punk singer and the lead of "The Living Dolls", she's most known for her crazy vocal range and tendency to produce awesome breakup songs (despite never having had a known relationship). she struggles a lot with the Guild publicity contract, having been put on probation multiple times for letting her temper get the best of her while interacting with the paparazzi. she desperately wants poe to come out of hiatus-- not even to rejoin the band, but simply because she's worried for him.

(artists: the regrettes, paramore, avril lavigne)

akiko yosano - pop singer who produces exclusively hit singles. redefining what it means to be a female singer in japan, she rejects the idol persona most singers take on and finds inspiration in american pop and a femme fatale image. all of her songs are incredibly #girlboss. good for her. ranpo's foster sister and best friend, she coaches him through most public interaction with the media so that he doesn't ruin his reputation permanently. she is ranpo's de facto manager / advisor.

[PLOT]

hoping to cooperate with an american label, fukuzawa makes an agreement with fitzgerald to send one of his artists over to America to collaborate with a Guild artist. fitzgerald is actually not very keen on cooperating, because he plans on buying out the Agency anyways, but for pretense he agrees.

the artist that's sent over is none other than ranpo-- and the singer he is sent to collaborate with is none other than poe, who is really not happy to see him for some reason. ranpo and poe's first meeting was on a singing competition, like the voice, and long story short poe got embarrassed on live tv so hard by ranpo that he took a 6 year hiatus from music LMFAO. and now he is permanently bitter and also refuses to produce music. which is actually why fitz set the two of them up together anyways: he doesn't really want to cooperate w/ ranpo's label, so he steered ranpo towards the One artist he employs that doesn't make music anymore to be like ohhh nooo u aren't making songs what a shame. back to japan u go.

of course ranpo doesn't remember indirectly driving poe to his 6 yr hiatus, he just remembers giving ~constructive criticism~ and then. not seeing poe for the rest of the show ever. ehehehe. maybe he should've guessed but urrr. its a rough start on the collab because poe simultaneously refuses to talk to ranpo, work, or let ranpo work. they butt heads w/ working together because poe is so capricious and keeps fluctuating between "i dont want to do this" and "stop doing it yourself you'll mess up". even in terms of genre, they clash-- poe's goth ass lyrics don't mesh at all with the upbeat instrumental of ranpo's music.

because of this, they're constantly at each other's throats. even as ranpo repeatedly tells poe "i don't want to fight with you, i respect you as an artist", poe can only focus on the way ranpo insulted him 6 years ago and hates that ranpo is acting like it never happened n trying to be nice to him (not an act btw ranpo legitimately does not remember what happened). this all leads up to a huge argument where poe finally voices the actual problem he has w ranpo about the singing competition 6 yrs ago instead of being passive aggressive about it and ranpo is like "What. That's Not How I Remember It." and they start piecing together the misunderstandings.

ranpo apologizes which is really rare for him so 👍 and says that it's what he thinks now of poe that matters and despite all of the fights they've been through, ranpo admires poe and can see the other's talent for songwriting. this flips a switch in poe's brain in where he realizes that the reason he was so emotionally distraught after the singing competition incident was not only because of the public humiliation of getting called out on live tv, but also because he liked ranpo and ranpo's criticism felt like rejection which he physically could not deal with so he channeled that into being angry. he does not voice this because its a realization he just doesn't want to deal with so. repression ❤️❤️

over the course of working on the collab album together, they gradually grow a quiet respect for the other. they live together in poe's studio apartment because ranpo Could find a hotel but it's easier to work together when you're in close proximity. they learn the little things about each other that make it hard to really truly despise the other person -- ranpo's sweet tooth, poe's doting affection for his pet raccoon karl. their relationship becomes less strained and more amicable. ranpoe domestic era.

poe starts avidly writing songs of his own again, and he'll never admit it, but the muse for his newer songs is always ranpo. he's kind of Down Horrendous but he refuses to acknowledge it. not even when confronted with the literal love song he wrote about ranpo. ranpo of course is Very Aware that these songs are based off him but he never says anything about it because 1) he's already ruined their relationship once by humiliating poe. he will not do it Again by asking if these songs are about him. and 2) he enjoys looking over poe's lyric drafts because it feels like a personal love letter to him (which it basically is since this is the only way poe feels comfortable expressing his feelings about ranpo) and 3) he's been Down Horrendous for poe ever since they met 6 yrs ago (though his feelings faded a little when poe was being a passive aggressive dick to him) so its nice to see poe catch up.

they finish their album, and on the night of its official release, they get extremely drunk together in their own little celebration party. ranpo can hold his alcohol because all he ever drinks is fruity little cocktails that actually get you drunk so fast so he's built a Tolerance. poe however has an alcohol sensitivity and so he can get white girl wasted after only a glass of wine. so the situation is that ranpo is only a little drunk while poe is fucking GONE.

ranpo suggests that they take a little walk outside in a nearby park so as to sober up poe a little n while they sit on a bench, poe drunkenly kisses ranpo n confesses his feelings. ranpo can't help but get a little flustered but ultimately he is like "yes yes i know i like you too but you are going to be soo mad when you wake up and realize you've confessed while wasted so you can tell me again when you're sober". n poe goes YOU LIKE ME TOO???? why is he so surprised. after that revelation poe cannot keep his hands off of ranpo because now he knows hes Allowed to want ranpo in this way so even with ranpo halfheartedly resisting in consideration of sober poe's feelings, ranpo gives in to poe and ermm. long story short they get very caught up in each other to the point of being totally unaware that the paparazzi now has a photo of them making out at the door of poe's apartment.

the next morning, poe wakes up to a really bad hangover, his phone blowing up with panicked text messages from lucy and twain with links to different gossip articles + too many twitter notifications, 25 missed calls from fitzgerald, and a sleeping ranpo in his bed. and he completely panics. not only did he obviously make a Very Public move on ranpo, someone he would rather confide his feelings to in private, but he also violated fitzgerald's publicity contract And accidentally "confirmed" the rumors of him n ranpo being in a relationship so now his twitter mentions are clogged as FUCK.

so in his panic he books the next one-way flight to yokohama in ranpo's name, shakes ranpo awake, and tells him that he has to go back to japan. after all, the contract is over, they've released the album. no more reason for the other to stay. poe tries to distance himself from ranpo so it'll hurt less when he leaves. insists that everything was all business and that last night was nothing more than a slipup so really, ranpo should start packing. ranpo doesn't understand poe's panic bc he doesn't care at all about the paparazzi or publicity in general and instead gets a little mad that poe would call what they had "business" because even Before they kissed it had Never been business, not even once, so for poe to say that it was. hurts more than he'd like to admit.

they get into a big argument and it ends with ranpo slamming the door in poe's face n leaving with the plane ticket. once ranpo leaves, poe tries to defuse the situation on social media and appease fitzgerald but everything he does once ranpo is gone feels kinda hollow. technically poe won the argument by getting ranpo to fly back to japan where he'll probably forget the other but. does not feel like hes won at all. ranpo has a few days before his flight so he's staying at a hotel and all the while poe is agonizing over his decision and moping around. he decides he'd rather endure all the gossip and have ranpo by his side than not have ranpo in his life anymore, but he can't find a way to Tell ranpo this. lucy gets very tired of poe venting all of his relationship problems at her so on the morning of the flight she pulls up to poe's apartment in her red cadillac and is like "get in loser. we're chasing down your man before he leaves so you can get your shit together." poe has no choice but to get in the car. lucy has a metal bat and he is weak willed and missing ranpo.

they pull up to the airport and catch ranpo before he boards the flight. yosano has been doing her own work as a ranpoe wingman by delaying the flight and talking with ranpo about poe's point of view of this whole situation so now ranpo is less mad and more guilty that he lashed out while poe was in emotional distress. poe apologizes for his harsh words and says he doesn't want to force ranpo to stay with him, but he'd like to pursue a relationship outside of work even if it means losing his contract at the Guild. ranpo in turn also apologizes for losing his temper, and says that poe was right before. he kind of Has to return to yokohama now so he can't stay in america. poe visibly deflates at that before ranpo says "but. nobody said you couldn't follow me to yokohama." with a sly grin. they kiss in the middle of the airport and lucy + yosano are blissfully free from the roles of wingwomen for two stupid gay men. the enddd ❤️

I’ve been pretty inactive the past few months since I’ve been swamped with RL work and with zine modding duties, but hopefully I can get myself into writing gear for this new year!! (I’m sorry to everyone I owe something from my follower give-away, I promise I haven’t forgotten about you!!!)

NOAH returned to action for the first time in nearly two weeks, with the first night of Majestic 2022 from Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan. This was the “N Innovation” part of the event, with a lot of outside wrestlers coming in from the USA, Mexico and Australia. Possibly the most talent from outside of Japan on a single show since the pandemic started. Jushin Thunder Liger was a guest on commentary for this show.

Eita doesn’t even last his first defense, which makes sense, as he is not a NOAH-contracted wrestler, despite the fact there is a lot of Dragon Gate talent nowadays (Z-Brats and Eita today, Masaaki Mochizuki and Don Fujii on tomorrow’s show). Daisuke Harada v. HYO in a singles match will happen on 5/14/2022 in Yokohama.

HAYATA declared he would usher in a new era of NOAH. I hope that’s good, what with attendances not great (1585 reported today), and everyone associated with their English social media accounts being gotten-to weirdos (to wit, getting into it with one of my oldest friends in puroresu internetting, over them misspelling it as “Ryuguku” on a meme edit yesterday).

Is this the first time Texano Jr. has appeared in NOAH? It would appear so. I know he is no longer in AAA since last year, so he is freelance as of now. Ninja Mack said he wants to become the GHC Junior champion. It’s good to have goals. Alpha Wolf is also known as Hijo de Canis Lupus.

Nio of Kongo lost his hair, and also now will lose his name, following defeat to his former Kongo stablemate Hao. Slex is an Australian wrestler; he once wrestled Kazuchika Okada in Sydney.

The GHC Heavyweight title match has now been confirmed, as Kaito Kiyomiya will in fact be Go Shiozaki’s opponent in the decision match main event tomorrow at Ryogoku. That will be on Wrestle Universe. As a reminder, an utter piece of human filth is in a featured match on this show facing Masa Kitamiya, so be warned.

INTERVIEW: Miku (An Cafe/[Lc5]) ClubZy #01

Miku (Antic Cafe, = during the hiatus, Lc5), who last year was abstaining from activities.

At the end of last year, he appeared as a guest on the “year-end special of the Izakaya Hakuei program” and there must have been many fans who were relieved by the pleasant exchange between him and Hakuei, right? We asked him how he has been in the past few days and listened carefully to his response to what kind of change there was in his life amid the change in the world due to the coronavirus (I will post the interview in two parts).

―First, I want to ask you thinking from last year. How was last year?

Miku: I had a lot to think about but, more than that, I think it was a year of stagnation. After all, when the first state of emergency was declared, everyone had to be isolated, right? However, even among these people, there were people who were able to work normally, so I thought each case was different, but there were also people who felt bad... So it was a moment when I thought I should re-evaluate my work again. I ended up thinking carefully about the future.

―I heard that there are a lot of young actors in the entertainment industry who are delivering candies for Uber Eats or who started a side business.

Miku: Oh, I thought "I shouldn't be at home all the time either!" I actually looked for a part-time job on an app.

―Wow！ What an attitude!

Miku: I searched without entering the search information, but... I couldn't find even one (laughs). Didn't show anything. So I thought that everyone must have had the same idea (to get a job).

―Actually, it looks like there are few job offers. Because it ended up becoming a world of people looking for a job.

Miku: So I had no choice but to stay home for a while. This is not very good, but I started to think "a life like this is also good, huh?" (bitter smile).

―A life of staying at home？ (laughs)

Miku: A life like cooking your own food for a month, and leaving the house just to go to the market! Buying in large quantities and thinking about how to make recipes with the things I have at home. So, consequently, it was a period in which the value of the credit card bill was very low. It made me think "I've been wasting my money untill now!"

―Now you don't eat out, do you? (laughs)

Miku: It's true! In the end, cooking my own food became fun and at the same time I trained too, so I started thinking “how gratifying!” (laughs)

―Yes!

Miku: Yeah, but I'm gradually missing people. That's why I found some friends to deal with work issues and what should take about 1 hour, became a 5-hour conversation… Maybe it's because I'm missing people and that's why I didn't want to leave them go when I meet them after a long time, right? "Oh, but now there is no such thing as remote meetings or remote drinking?" But then I thought again “human beings really need to meet people in person.

-I understand. There are also the advantages of being remote and not having to go out for a meeting or to give an interview, but I clearly think that the theme often develops better when it is face to face, right?

Miku: Also, in my case, I feel more nervous when it's remote than when it's face to face. Because it's annoying to be talking repeatedly to a screen. So, I think that last year really was a year of stagnation. But cooking my own food was fun (bitter laugh). I arbitrarily decided that 2020 was a difficult year! But, as I'm managing to live, I have been thinking that I'm a happy person.

―Now we're also in the same situation, right? I mean, you can't do shows as an artist, can you?

Miku: About musical activities, I always felt that I shouldn't do anything.

―Ohh ... That may have been the right decision, right?

Miku: I don't know if it was correct or not, but I wanted to do everything I could at home.

―What can you do at home... lives?

Miku: No, no. I studied several things. I like English a lot, so I studied English every day! I've been learning since kindergarten.

―Is it a preparation for an expansion abroad?

Miku: No, it's not this (bitter laugh). I just thought "don't you have anything to do at home?" I learned English when I was little, so I wanted to revise it. Also, talking about something I was addicted to last year, there's the Korean drama "Crash Landing on You"! I was watching a lot (laughs).

―You're following the trends, don't you? (laughs)

Miku: No, I was very touched! Almost all the characters are good people. Oh, there are the bad people too, but they are almost good people! I liked that view of love.　

―I see... it somehow looks gratifying, right? (laughs)

Miku: The satisfaction of an idler (bitter laugh).

―But you're a homebody anyway, right?

Miku: That's right! I'm the type that goes out as little as possible. However, as I said at the beginning, I thought I had to go out.

― Going out to go to the gym or something like this?

Miku: The gym is also closed, so when I said "go out", I meant "go out for a walk" (bitter laugh).

―Walking is also a good exercise, right? Is important!

Kurobas Vday Challenge Day 7 - Akafuri

Hey, hey, hey! Well this is the last one, I had a wonderful time doing this so thank @vanilla-daydreams and @theuglycrybaby for organising this. For the free day I have to go back to Akafuri because I absolutely love them, but also because this is something I wanted to write for Akafuri day in Novembre but most probably I would not be able to do it (sorry in advance) so at least I wrote this XD.

The Rakuzan castle was illuminated by thousands of lights, the halls were full of garlands and even the royal guards were celebrating. The entrance had not stopped receiving important personalities since that morning. The first ones were prince Kise Ryouta and his personal guard Kasamatsu Yukio in the name of the Kingdom of Kaijou. Midorima Shintarou was quickly to follow representing Shutoku with his court led by his trusted advisor Takao Kazunari. Empress Momoi Satsuki of Touou arrived a few hours before the ball and dragged her fiancé Aomine Daiki to get ready for it. Yosen was the last one to make an appearance if only because their prince Murasakibara Atsushi overslept even after all the attempts of his husband Himuro Tatsuya to wake him up. But with his attendance all the kingdoms of the Teiko alliance were finally reunited after so many years of fights and quarrels. Everything thanks to the help of the foreign kingdom of Seirin who had been invited as special guests to the ball. King Hyuuga and Queen Riku could not attend but they had sent prince Kagami Taiga and his court to the ball in their name.

In any other occasion, Akashi Seijuurou would be more than happy to see his cousin Kuroko Tetsuya again especially after he ran away from Rakuzan and ended up getting into a relationship with the young Seirin prince. But not this dreaded day. Because of all these people, all the celebrations were for him. In three months, he will be 18 and therefore as the heir of the biggest empire he needed to find a partner before the coronation. Traditions in Rakuzan were too important to be taken lightly so unless he found a person to marry, he would never touch the crown. However, thanks to his deceased mother he was free to choose the person he desired, something his father loathed because according to him his marriage would be a great chance to ally with any of the kingdoms. Akashi did not know how to explain to his father that none of the princes was exactly available as they were all in a relationship. So here he was, preparing himself for the three months celebrations that were supposed to be held on his honour.

“You are too stiff, Sei-chan,” mussed Mibuchi Reo while he tried to fix his cape.

“I just don’t see the point of parading myself among strangers who are only after my throne.”

“Come on,” Mibuchi patted him on the shoulder. “Be there a few minutes with Kuroko and the rest and then sneak out to the library, I will leave it open for you to hide.”

Akashi could not help but smile at the kindness his friend was offering him. Even though she was not the head librarian of the Rakuzan castle, Mibuchi always had the keys of the place which Akashi suspected was because she stole them from Mayuzumi. But as real the head librarian had never complained about it, he never mentioned it. He let Mibuchi fuss over his hair a bit more deciding that he should try to stay the whole night and leave the library as a last option.

After two hours, Akashi excused himself and slipped away from the ball. The whole party had been exhausting but at least his friends tried to keep most of the guests away taking turns to speak with him. But Akashi could not help but feel a bit bad that he was taking them from such a wonderful night. So, after a while he decided the library was going to the best option. The moment he entered the room he felt the peace of the place invade him. Leaving his crown and cape on Mayuzumi’s desk he started to walk slowly by the bookshelves. When he found a book interesting enough, he approached the light that he thought belonged to the head librarian. However, his surprise was huge when instead of white hair he found a brunet boy completely focused on his reading. A bit puzzled, Akashi studied his face sensing some familiarity on his features. Before his brain could specify of what did he know this man, the brunet noticed his presence.

“Oh! I’m sorry,” apologised with a bright smile. “I thought I was the only one who was going to ditch the party.”

“I’m afraid you’re not,” answered Akashi still not knowing why this stranger was smiling. “May I know what are you doing here?”

“Well, I don’t see the point in the whole ball thing,” shrugged the boy. “And Kuroko always talks about how big the Rakuzan library is so of course I had to come to check it,” he suddenly seemed to notice something. “Wait, am I allowed to be here? I assure you I didn’t want to trespass or anything.”

“Do not worry, the library is open to everyone who could ever need it, although Kuroko usually praised Seirin library” apart from mentioning Kuroko the boy was wearing white, red and black so it was not that hard to guess he was from Seirin.

“He does?” he blushed a bit. “It’s a bit small but I guess we have a lot of knowledge to offer.”

“You study Seirin’s folklore?”

“I’m actually the head library of the castle,” he offered a hand. “Furihata Kouki.”

“Oh, you’re the one who found out about the mystic art of the Zone.”

“N-n-n-no,” Akashi did not know why watching Furihata blush was so funny. “I just pointed out a few legends to Kagami and Kuroko, they did the rest.”

“It was a force to be recognised,” he took a seat next to Furihata. “We also tried to master it but I’m afraid we still have much research to do.”

“You are a librarian too?”

Akashi then realised that even with his hair and eyes, Furihata had not noticed who he was. Deep down he knew he should answer with the truth, but his conversation with Furihata was the nicest one he had that day. The boy also seemed to be well versed in the folklore of his country which was a subject of deep interest to him but that he will not probably discuss with a potential enemy. Rakuzan and Seirin had a peace alliance but no one knew when the tables could turn. So, if he confessed his identity to Furihata the most probable outcome was that the boy decided to stop speaking with him about the secrets of his homeland. Also, there was something in this boy that made Akashi want to know more about him which might be difficult if his status became an issue.

“Yes,” answered after a moment. If Furihata found it strange he did not mention it. “I’m learning under Mayuzumi’s guidance. My name is… Mibuchi Seijuurou.”

“Nice to meet a fellow colleague.”

The prince smiled to himself while he took his hand feeling the warmth of his skin. This looked like the promising beginning of a nice friendship. As long as Furihata did not discover who he truly was he could get to know him better. Nothing could go wrong.

Despite all that...their perspective of reality was completely shattered on that faithful day.

It happened on a sunny Friday morning in late spring.

It was a golden weekend. Families were having fun outside; the birds were chirping with the cool breeze blowing into the office.

Inside the Agency, the Armed Detective members were discussing a new case they’ve been tasked with. It was the largest mission they had this year.

There will be an underground auction at the harbour in exactly two days. The auction sells everything, from stolen artifacts to living human beings. It was an organization the Japanese government spent years trying to locate. The auction change places every year it opens, and this year, they came the coast of Yokohama.

Because of the sensitivity of this case and the high possibility that the auction has Ability users guarding it, the Armed Detective Agency was asked to help.

The Agency members were all stressing over this case. They have all the preparations done. Katai had hacked into their system and stole a list of guests attending to the auction. All of them were people in the higher up of society, be it being simply rich, or corrupted politicians.

It was the perfect opportunity to capture all of them at once, but to do so they must send someone to control things from the inside. They can’t risk letting a single person escape. They had to capture the mastermind and shut down this auction for good.

Akiyama Eito was the CEO of Japan’s largest jewelry company. Five months ago a huge scandal regarding said CEO broke out. The company’s stocks instantly fell and the company was now on the verge of bankruptcy.

Akiyama had a son named Akiyama Fumihiro, who was one of the guests that will be attending this auction. According to their information, there was only one word to describe the son.

He was an idiot.

A spoiled, pampered brat enjoying all the luxury his dad's money had brought him. He took drugs, sped on his sportscar, had three cases of hit and run resolved secretly with money and etc.

After his daddy’s company went on peril, this idiot son spent nearly a million just to get his hand on the auction invitation card. He was somehow delusional into believing that as long as he could make friends with the owner of the auction, he could continue his past lifestyle.

Secretly arresting this kind of idiot was quite easy. The members of the agency all went out to capture him, not for his importance on their mission, but due to his striking resemblance with Dazai.

It was quite interesting to watch Dazai’s face spewing idiotic threats such as “Do you know who my daddy is” or “My daddy will hear about this!”

With Akiyama Fumihiro taken out, all that’s left was for Dazai to take his place in the auction. The only problem left was that the idiotic son had registered to bring a female omega companion to attend with him.

The only omegas they had in the agency were Naomi and Atushi.

Naomi was impossible. She wasn't suited to go into such a dangerous place. Even if she was they will have to get her over Tanizaki’s dead body which would be a pain.

Atsushi would have fit perfectly for this job if not for the fact that the omega’s gender was already registered. They thought about dressing the boy up as a woman, but after a couple of tries they gave up on that idea. By the end, the poor lad was almost in tears.

They thought of having Yosano or Kyouka (alpha and beta) disguising as omega, but the security will be strict. No matter how good artificial omega scents are nowadays, it could still easily give them away.

If they don’t bring an omega companion, the people at the auction will question Dazai. Likewise, if they bring an omega with the wrong gender registered.

Any changes will alert the securities. That was how strict this auction was. If they don’t want to risk exposing Dazai, a female omega companion was necessary.

“Dazai!” Kunikida barked at the dark-haired man lying on the couch with a book covering his face. “Stop slacking off and help us think of a solution!”

Dazai lazily pulls off the book and looked to the group gathered around the table.

“It’s easy~” The man yawned as he stretched his arms as if coming right out of a good nap. “I’ll just get my omega to go in as my partner.”

A moment of silence passed by.

And then…the group turned back to discuss amongst themselves, promptly ignoring their strategist.

“I said, I can get my omega to help us with the mission!” Dazai's call was completely ignored.

“You’re not taking Naomi!”

“Hello~?"

“No one said anything about taking Naomi!”

“Anyone listening?”

“Maybe we should shove Atsushi in a dress after all.”

“I saaaaaid—”

“Eeeeh?! No way! That’s never going to work!”

Soon, the discussion just turned into a jumble of noises. Each of them started throwing out random ideas only to get rebuked.

Just when their heated conversations started to turn into an argument, a scent they hadn't smelled before flooded the office.

The group froze. Their mouths stopped moving as they only inhaled through their nose to taste the sweet citrus scent exclusive to omegas. And within this unfamiliar scent, there was another scent. This scent was heavier and richer, possessively dominating the sweet omega scent.

And more importantly, they knew this second scent.

All at once, they slowly turned their head to a certain raven-haired man sitting on the couch. The bandages around the man's neck were unwrapped, revealing a pair of prominent bite marks on each side of his neck.

That was where the source of the scent was flowing from.

Those were mating marks.

“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH?!?!?!?!??!?!”

Omegas were precious creatures.

They were beautiful and alluring beings that can give birth regardless of male or female. Omegas were delicate, so they needed protection.

Alphas were the protectors. No alpha was ever born weak. With their superior physical abilities and heightened senses, these creatures were made for combat.

In the ancient past, when alpha and omega mated, the alpha will provide everything for the omega. They take care of them, protect them and cherish them. In return, omegas will give all their loves to their alphas. It was a pure, uncontaminated relationship until societies are built and people eventually forgot this special bond they were capable of.

Due to their superiority, alphas soon ruled over each kingdom.

Contaminated by greed, money, and lust, they started to see omegas as objects. Alphas began to enslave omegas and use them for pleasure. A single alpha was allowed to mate as many omegas as they like. Omegas at the time were treated no different than cattle raised for slaughter.

It was around that time that betas began appearing.

Neither alpha nor omega, the only gender to define a beta was by male and female. Females were the only one capable of giving birth, but that was it. They were ordinary beings with no higher senses or stronger physic. Due to this, betas were seen as monsters. The churches branded them as the devil's children. When an omega gave birth to a beta, the alpha will kill the child and the omega mother will be hanged as they are contaminated by evil.

However, when nearly all omegas began giving birth to betas, even the less intelligent alphas realized something was wrong.

People began to research and realized that the omegas that gave birth to betas were mostly captive ones. Treated as nothing but playthings, those omegas weren't even marked (or rather not allowed to) when they give birth to children of their rapist. And those children were all born as betas. Even if the omega was marked, if the alpha himself has marked other omegas, then the children of those omegas will also be beta.

This discovery led to some people realizing just how wrong the world had become. Battles took place over the world as people fought to free the omegas from the greedy clutches of corrupted alphas. It was thanked to this that many omegas were able to escape their confinement and survive in the outside world.

Ever since royalties were overthrown and governments were established, the law quickly came into place to protect the few omegas that were left.

With great care, omegas started giving birth to alpha and omegas again. Over time, these two dwindling dynamics slowly rise back up.

In modern society, beta takes up a population of seventy-five percent, Alpha at fifteen percent, and omega at ten percent. While all three dynamics stand at equal right, the law, as well as societies, will always favour the omega. After all, histories had taught them that omegas needed to be treated with care.

While their dynamics had changed over time, one thing never changed.

No matter what, Alphas were always stronger ones. Be it their physical strengths or their intelligence, alphas always stand above betas and omegas. Nowadays, alphas were dubbed as “winners in life”, as they were fated to achieve great things no matter what career they chose.

Miraculously, there was one alpha that defied all these alpha stereotypes, and that alpha's name was Dazai Osamu.

Lazy, bum, hobo, slacker, no-good, scheming, bandage-wasting machine, suicidal maniac…none of these were words used to describe an alpha. Yet, they were all used on Dazai Osamu.

Ranpo was the only one that acted normal. He was munching on his snacks as usual, but no one else seemed to notice him in their mindless state.

Time agonizingly ticked by.

The entire office was drowned in silence as they waited.

The moment the clock struck twelve, the door open.

Coming back into reality, the members finally moved. They all whipped their heads around, wanting to see just what kind of omega would choose that kind of alpha as mate.

Was this omega being threatened?

Was this omega blind?

Was this omega suffering from some sort of amnesia and was tricked by Dazai into marrying him?

What they saw made them turned back into stones.

A slender woman walked through the doorway with her black heels clattering against the green floor tiles. She wore a black, large big brim hat with decorated with reddish-orange flowers. The hat sat slanted over her head, blocking her face and showing only the tip of her chin and some strands of pumpkin orange hair brushed over her shoulder.

The woman’s chin was tilted up in confidence. Her long, black dress swayed with her movement. Occasionally, when she took bigger steps, her long and slender legs could be shown through the opening on the side. A black scarf was tied around her neck and flowing behind her back as she moved.

Even without seeing her face, just from the way she carried herself already gave off the image that the woman was a beauty.

Within her gloved hands, she held a small black purse. Yosano immediately recognized that bag. She had seen it when flipping through the magazine that was released just yesterday. That was the 1001 Nights Diamond Purse.

The female alpha doctor raised an eyebrow. So not only was the woman an omega but she also got a strong background. Normal people wouldn’t be able to afford that kind of money on a purse. Then...why Dazai?

None of them even saw Dazai until the alpha popped into their view and wiped off nonexistent dirt from the couch to let his mate sit.

When the woman sat down and lifted her head, they were once more blown away by her feature.

She was as beautiful as they imagined.

The woman's face was sharp and refine like a sculpture carved out of ice. She got perfectly pointed chin with fair skin and thick lashes framing her eyes to bring out that blue in her pupils. Her eyes were like sapphires, shining vibrantly despite being such a poorly lit room.

Despite the cold and distant aura the woman was giving off, her eyes were burning vibrantly with fire and defiant. It was an unusual contrast, yet it was such a contrast that made her all the more eye-catching.

On the base of her long and slender neck, just below her scarf, were two mating scars. One on each side, the scars was the perfect replication of Dazai’s teeth mark. From those marred scent glands, the alluring scent of the omega’s flowed out, carrying the mixture of her alpha.

“Honey, meet my co-workers.” Dazai sat right up against his mate, practically gluing himself to her side as he held one of her hands in his and planted a kiss on the back of her wrist.

The sight made the corner of Kunikida’s glasses cracked.

Atsushi's brow twitched as he stared at the raven who was openly flirting with his own mate.

“From left to right is Tanizaki-kun, his sister Naomi-chan, the detective of our agency Ranpo-san, our physician Yosano-sensei, Kenji, Atsushi-kun, Kyouka-chan!”

“Is it just me or were our introductions really short?" Atsushi sweatdropped. Dazai even said all three of their names in one swift breath.

The woman didn’t say anything, but her blue eyes shifted to a certain blond who never got an introduction. His brows were twitching and a vein could be seen pulsing beneath his forehead.

"Oh, you don't need to bother about him, my love," Dazai purred, grasping both the woman's hands and leaned over her so much that the beautiful woman had to lean away. "You only need to look at me."

“HEY!” Kunikida shouted.

The rest of the members stared flatly at the pink hearts practically gushing out of Dazai. The alpha was saying every single cheesy line while the woman just looked away expressionlessly as if she couldn't even bother sparing a glance to deal with the idiot.

Atsushi couldn’t help but wonder just how those two become mates.

“And this!” Dazai wrapped his arm around the woman’s slender waist and pulled her into his side. “Is my lovely wife, Chuuna-chan!”

Atsushi jumped when a sudden chill crawled down his spine.

He heard it.

He definitely heard a snap just now. As someone sensitive to how other people think, Atsushi keenly caught the sound of someone’s rationality snapping in two. He couldn't tell where it came from though. He looked over the woman's cold and stoic face, then to the other members of the agency. All of them looked like they had swallowed a fly.

The only one that looked pissed was Kunikida due to Dazai’s fooling around. Perhaps that was from Kunikida—Atsushi convinced himself, though something just didn’t feel right.

“So~” Dazai waved at the group. “Briefing over the mission?”

The visible vein on Kunikida’s forehead twitched, but he held it in and took a seat on the opposite couch of the pair. The rest gathered behind the couch, curious about the woman that was Dazai’s mate. Even Ranpo was very interested.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Chuuna-san. I am Kunikida Doppo.” Kunikida introduced himself politely to the woman. “We appreciate your help in assisting with our job. This will require you to go undercover into an underground auction. The security is extremely tight and there are possibilities of Ability users guarding that place. Are you certain you can take this job?”

The woman just stared at Kunikida with those firm, unwavering eyes. Kunikida felt goosebumps crawling all over his skin just from this woman’s stare. Just keeping eye contact with those sharp blue eyes made the beta break out cold sweats. The air even felt thinner and harder to breathe.

If he had any doubts about whether or not this woman could take the job before, it was gone now. This woman was strong. She was stronger than anyone he had ever met. Just who exactly was she? Kunikida couldn't believe that he had never heard of someone like her before.

“Ah, Chuuna-chan isn't the talkative type. Just give her a basic briefing on what she needs to do and she'll have it done."

Kunikida wanted to kick Dazai out the window, but the woman’s presence made him held his foot back. He flipped open his notebook and began reviewing the mission with the omega.

The mission was simple. Dazai and his wife will infiltrate the auction and steals the data of all of the auction’s clients and dealers from the database. The police want to capture every single trail connected to the auction, include every single person behind it.

It was an extremely huge task, but that got nothing to do with them. Their job was just to get the information they needed.

When the day of the mission finally came, the agency fell into another shock.

Dazai showed up, wearing a white suit with black dress sure and orange tie. His hair was groomed and he looked…decent for once. Handsome even.

No one in the agency even thought this was possible. They didn’t even know that Dazai even owned another set of clothes let alone something that looked so costly.

Chuuna stood by Dazai’s side.

She wore a long, red trumpet gown with her wavy orange hair were wrapped up in a bun on the back of her head—decorated with freshly cut crimson camellias. Her slender hands were fitted into a pair of long black leather gloves that reached past her elbow matched with black lace-up heels. A long scarf made of white fox pelt wrapped around her neck and flowed down her finely curved figure.

Around her bare shoulders was a large white coat protecting her from the chilly spring air. The coat was too large to be the woman’s, so it was obviously Dazai who put it over his mate’s shoulders. The way the large coat wrapped around the petite woman gave off a sense of protection from the outside world.

The alpha smoothly took his omega’s hand and led her to the white limo.

“Let’s go.” Dazai opened the door like a gentleman for his mate to get in first before following after.

Kunikida’s brows twitched, but he managed to swallow the urge to retort as he pulled open the driver’s seat.

“Oh, Kunikida-kun!” Dazai suddenly called, popping his head out of the window. “Drive slowly and steadily! What if my darling Chuuna chips a nail because you recklessly made a turn or went over a bump?!”

“DO YOU THINK WE’RE HERE FOR FUN?!” Kunikida all but screamed, not caring if Chuuna was present or not anymore. That bastard! Did Dazai think they're going for a picnic or something?!

Fuming, Kunikida went into the driver seat and slammed the door shut. He started the engine and stepped on the gas as they headed for their destination.

Never was the blond so thankful for driving a limo. With a limo, he wouldn't have to endure Dazai’s harassment. The two passengers on the back weren't able to see him, but Kunikida certainly can. The limo was installed with a camera showing driver the situation in the passenger seat in case of emergencies.

Unfortunately for him, Kunikida underestimated Dazai's ability to irritate people. Even without the alpha purposely pushing his buttons, Kunikida was on the verge of vomiting rainbows five minutes into the drive. To his defense, anyone would when they hear the things Dazai was saying to his mate.

Things such as;

“Oh Chuuna! There isn't a word in the dictionary for how beautiful you look tonight.”

And,

"Look only at me, alright? Otherwise, I would be jealous of all those eyes looking over Chunna's gorgeous body."

To things like,

“Your hand looks heavy, Chuuna. Here, let me hold them for you.”

Kunikida had to control his grip so that he wouldn’t rip the wheel off in frustration. What was that idiot doing?! That's not how to start conversations with a lady! No, scratch that, they were on a mission, not for him to throw his omega dumb cheesy lines!

And what’s more, the entire time the alpha was blabbering, the omega didn't even spare that idiot a glance! She was looking out the window, completely ignoring her alpha who was practically rubbing his face into her palm like some sort of lost puppy crying for attention.

Were they seriously mates? Kunikida was skeptical, but mating marks and scents can’t lie.

Unable to look anymore, Kunikida shut off the camera. He had a feeling if he continued to listen to these nonsenses, he will kick Dazai right out of the car, mission or not.

At the back of the limo, burnt umber eyes shifted to the direction of the camera where the small green light had disappeared, indicating that it has been turned off.

“Kunikida-kun sure loves peeking. I wonder if it’s your beauty that mesmerized him.” Dazai said teasingly as he looked at the woman sitting by his side.

The red-haired woman was still looking out the window, completely ignoring him. Dazai smiled, not bothered by the slightest as he warmed the woman’s hand in his own.

“Jokes aside, you do look stunning tonight.”

The woman scoffed.

“I am being serious.” Dazai chuckled as he rolled his omega’s glove down until that small wrist of hers was exposed and placed a kiss there. “It’s been a while since the two of us went on a mission together. I’m very happy.”

The woman finally turned her head from the window and gazed down at that man whose lips were still on her wrist. She pulled back her hand and shoved the raven’s head away.

“Liar, I can tell you’re happy as well!" Dazai said teasingly as he fixed the glove for his lover. “But compared to that, I missed having you by my side.”

The woman gave him a pointed look.

"Just meeting during the night isn't enough! I want my omega with me during the day too! Isn't it time for you to leave underground?"

The woman huffed and turned back to the window.

“I know, I haven’t forgotten that I dragged you into this. I don’t regret it though.”

After a long while, the woman turned back to Dazai with a questioning look on her bright blue eyes.

“Of course I can understand.” Dazai laughed. This time it wasn’t his overly dramatic or teasing laugh, but a genuine one that came from the bottom of his heart. He reached out and tucked a loose strand of orange hair behind his mate’s ear. “I know everything about you after all. Your timing, your attack, your behavior, your habits, what you like…I even know the tempos of your breathing. What kind of mate will I be if I can't even tell what you're thinking?"

The woman seemed taken back before she hurriedly whipped her head away. Dazai chuckled as he watched the tip of the woman's ear slowly reddened. Unable to help himself, he leaned down and bit into that soft earlobe, causing the omega to suck in a shuddering breath.

When they arrived at the destination, Kunikida got off the car and opened the door for Dazai and his omega, playing the role of a dutiful driver.

All around, cars were parked in a straight line, all of the drivers doing the same as they open the door for their employers.

Men and women, all dressed up in fancy gowns came out of their cars. If an outsider sees this, they would probably think it was just some rich people having a get together on a cruise. No one would even think that these people were all dealing in shady business.

The moment Dazai exited the car, all eyes were drawn to him.

Most of the guests are well over their thirties, so suddenly seeing someone so young and handsome has caught many off guard. Women blushed at the sight of such a handsome alpha, while the men and alphas gawked at the gorgeous omega accompanying him.

Whispers traveled around as Dazai wrapped an arm around his mate’s small waist and pulled her close in an almost possessive way.

The people around parted ways to let them by, staring as these graceful pair walked across the red carpet.

Kunikida never wanted to beat Dazai up so much. The raven's omega was standing out like a sore thumb. Or rather, both of them were completely standing out! This was supposed to be a stealth mission! How are they supposed to perform stealth if they stood out?!

Whatever Kunikida was thinking, Dazai didn’t know. But even if he did, he wouldn’t care.

They entered the cruise after shoving the guards their invitation card. The securities there performed body check on every single guest. Phones and all electronics were compensated. After all that was done, they were asked to provide their fingerprints and DNA. Having all prepared that beforehand, Dazai and his omega got in quite easily. The two were led to a ballroom with the other guests. It was a place for them to relax, as the auction won’t start until the cruise departs into the sea.

Being the center of attention, it didn’t take long for someone to come up and talk to them.

“You are Akiyama’s son, aren’t you?” An alpha in his forties said as he walked up to the pair with a glass of champagne in hand. “I know your father. He’s an old colleague of mine.”

Dazai immediately recognized this man. He had memorized every guests' information and their connections to the Akiyama father and son. This middle-aged man was the chairman of Chiba University Hospital, Omura Hayato.

“Omura-san. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Dazai greeted politely with a slight dip of his head to show his respect.

“What happened to your father's company was a pity.” Omura sighed. Although he was talking with Dazai, his eyes were roaming all over the redhead standing beside him. More than once his eyes had stopped on the small, A-cup bump on her chest and the curve of her hips.

“But I can’t understand what was going through your father’s head. To think he accidentally killed one of his omega staff while attempting to rape her. If he wanted an omega, he should have just use money to buy them! I can't understand why he wasted so much effort on that kind of commoner. Don't you agree, boy?”

The man’s voice wasn’t soft. If anything, he purposely spoke loud enough for the bystanders watching them to hear.

“You are correct. I too disagree with what my father did.” Dazai replied professionally, never once did the smile on his face disappear.

The lack of reaction from Dazai clearly put the man off, but he still stuck around, making small talks until he finally got to his point.

“A lovely omega you have here.” He complimented as the lust in his eyes became deeper. His eyes swept by the woman’s mating marks, but the fact that the woman seemed to have mated wasn't off-putting for him in the least.

After all, to these people—to every single one of them here—omegas meant nothing. To them, omegas were just toys used for pleasure. Even in this auction, there will be omegas auction out as slaves. In the past when alpha enslaved omegas, some of them will mark the poor creatures as a show of property right, not mating, so these people thought the same.

Despite being all dressed up, Dazai was still had on his bandages underneath his suits. His mating marks were hidden under those bandages while his wife's marks were exposed for all to see. The people here will only think that the dark-haired alpha brought his specially trained slave to show off tonight.

They all know how stupid and spoiled this son of Akiyama Eito was. They had a fair share of laughs at all the scandals Akiyama Eito had to cover up for this idiotic son. While Dazai may act decent and polite, the other guests just brushed him off as him putting up a fake front.

“A beauty indeed…I’ve never seen such fine omega.” As Omura said that, he reached out a hand towards the redhead’s delicate face. Just when his finger almost brushed against that soft-looking skin, a glass of red wine intercepted that greedy hand’s path.

“My apologies.” Dazai smiled as he held the stem of the glass in his hand gracefully. “But did I say you could touch her?”

The man’s face burned bright with anger that someone so much younger than him dared to talk to him like that. However, Omura knew he can’t cause too big of a scene, so he cleared his throat. Muttering some words to Dazai before he turned to leave.

"This glass is dirty," Dazai said, looking down at the wine before he casually placed it onto a tray of a passing waiter and took a new one. He offered it to his omega who elegantly accepted it.

The redhead looked down at the red wine, gently swirling the fluid around to let the aroma rise. Then, she pressed the rim of the tall glass against her rose-red lips and tipped the cup upward.

The people around stared at the woman’s fluid movement.

Such elegance matched with that stoic, alluring face gave the audiences a feeling that this omega came from a wealthy family like themselves. An omega like this was different from any other omega slaves they had played with. Men and alphas felt the urge to wreck this woman, to throw her under them and strip her of dignity and hear her begs them for mercy.

As fantasy spread through these men’s mind, the pheromones thickened within the grand ballroom.

It didn’t take long for another man to come up to them, then another, followed by another.

They all greeted Dazai and spoke to him, yet all their eyes were trained on the orange-haired omega. More than once they hinted on buying the gorgeous omega off his hand or even just renting for a day, but Dazai just smiled and dismissed them all.

After an hour of enjoying themselves at the party, the auction was finally going to commence. Rather than having all of them enter at once, the guests were taken to the auction one by one while the rest waited in the ballroom.

When a waiter came up to inform them that it was their turn, Dazai took his omega by the hand and followed their guide.

They came to the lower part of the ship and into a huge stage that took up the space of two floors. The hall circling the stage was made with glass panels. There were private rooms on both floors for the guests to participate

They were lead down the ship and into a stage surrounded by private rooms for each guest where they can enjoy the auction in private. Once they settle into their room, they won’t be allowed out until the auction ends. Any needs they can just ask their waiter for them to bring into their room. Once the auction ends, they will be taken out of their rooms one by one just like how they entered.

This way, no one will know who was in which bidding room bidding for the item.

There was a hundred percent privacy for guests and what’s more…

Dazai’s eyes narrowed at a row of men dressed in waiter uniform standing against the side of the wall like statues. While they looked like ordinary waiter dutifully waiting for orders, the raven-haired alpha could tell they weren't waiters at all.

They were trained killers.

Should anything happen during the auction, they will immediately take out every single guest trapped in their rooms. While each room looked sturdy, the walls facing the hall was hollow inside. A normal gun could easily pierce through the thin woods and into the target inside.

"Here's your room, sir." The waiter bowed as he held the door to Dazai’s room open.

“Yes, of course!” Dazai smiled as he let go of his omega. "May I ask if the person behind the auction will also be watching?"

“Of course, the boss will be watching to ensure the auction goes smoothly.” The waiter replied without a beat.

No matter how much the waiter tried to hide it, Dazai keenly caught the belittlement hidden within that waiter's eye.

“Then can you put in some words for me to your boss?” Dazai asked, the calm mask he was wearing broke, showing eagerness. “This omega here, I’ve trained her for years. I’m sure the boss will like it. There are some things I wish to discuss with him, could you put in some words for me?”

“I’m afraid that is against the rules, sir.” The waiter said with a troubled look. But once more, the way those eyes roam over the redhead did not escape Dazai’s eyes.

Dazai discreetly stuffed a rolled-up bill into the waiter's hand before shoving his omega forward. "I'm sure your boss will be pleased with her. She is the finest omega you'll find anywhere in the market! I've trained her in many places; she knows how to make a man scream.”

The waiter continued to act hesitant, but after some push from Dazai, he finally complied. He did not take Dazai’s money. He just hurriedly gave him back the bills and assured him that he will get the job done.

With a satisfied smirk, Dazai walked into the room without giving his omega a second look.

Once the door closed, the waiter speedily called over two other waiters to watch over the closed door.

Then, under his co-worker's jealous gazes, the waiter grabbed the omega roughly by the arm and dragged her away.

The waiter sped down the hall as if he couldn't even wait for a second longer as he brought the omega into the upper floor and into an old storage room.

The waiter threw the omega into the storage before stripping off the cameras attached on him. He disabled it and set it aside on a shelf. He closed the door shut behind him as the clicking sound of the door locking resonated through the small space.

"What an idiot!" The waiter laughed, finally revealing his real nature as he leered lustfully at the omega in front of him. After all, as alpha, omegas were too alluring for them to pass the chance. "Your dumb master seems to think he could use you to get close to the boss, what a joke! He doesn't even understand his own position." He mocked as he undid his tie and unbuckled his belt.

"My name is Adam, memorize it because that's gonna be name of your alpha from now, little omega." He chuckled as the alpha's thick musk filled the room.

The omega had her head dipped, slowly backing up until she hit the wall.

The alpha chuckled at that as he advanced on her, mouth already slaving from the scent coming from the delectable omega before him.

“Your master said you know how to make a man scream, let see if that’s true!” And then, the alpha eagerly closed the last distance between them, reaching out to tear the omega’s dress off. However, at the last second, his hands were grabbed by a pair of slender gloved ones.

Sounds of crackling bones came from the alpha's wrists before those delicate-looking hands completely crushed all the bones inside. The flesh was distorted from the tight pressure as blood burst out from those wrung wrists and splattered over the floor.

The waiter was in so much pain that he could only let out dry screams until this throat doesn't even work anymore. He had collapsed on his knees, held up only by his broken hands still being gripped by the omega. He was wheezing as he stared at his mangled wrist in horror.

“You want to scream, then I’ll make you scream, master.” Came deep, husky voice came from above.

The waiter shakily looked up and was met with a pair of chilling blue eyes looking down on him as if looking at a piece of garbage.

After every honorable guest has settled into the private rooms, the auction finally began. On the stage, a beautiful lady would walk out, carrying all types of items while a man at the counter shouted for price. Behind the two was a huge screen, showing all the information about the item being auctioned.

A waiter walked along the windows, looking down at the items currently being bid on. It was sixteen complete sets of organs, all in perfect condition with different blood types and genders. It was obvious where the auction had gotten these organs from, and it certainly wasn't from donors.

The waiter stepped into the elevator. He pulled out a key card from his pocket and swiped it over the key slot before pressing the highest level button.

Once arrived, he strolled out into the bright hallway. He looked around before finding a door with another key slot. He swiped it over, causing the door to open, revealing the boat’s control room.

“Who are you?” One of the men looked up from their work.

“I got orders from the boss to deliver a message." The waiter replied as the doors slowly closed behind him…

Dazai watched impassively as an omega was put up onto the auction stage. The omega was a male. Thick chains wrapped around his neck like a dog with a leash as he sat in the center of the light and cameras. His eyes were glazed over, clearly drugged and dressed in transparent fabric that hid nothing of his pale body.

The man at the auction was going wild, screaming out prices that just kept stacking higher and higher.

It appeared that omegas were very popular amongst the guests tonight.

The door opened up right then, revealing a waiter holding a tray of appetizers Dazai had called for. The appetizers were a plate of king crab legs, raw oysters, a glass of wine with apples and grapes.

The waiter set the food onto the table, turning to leave when Dazai called out to him.

"Hold it!" Dazai commanded without even looking away from the auction. He clicked his tongue in irritation as he slammed against the bidding button, stacking the price on the omega even higher, but he was soon outbid once again. “My crabs aren’t even deshelled, these apples and grapes aren't skinned either. You expect me to eat these?!”

“My apologies sir, I will bring them back to the kitchen and have them remake it.” The waiter said, about to take the tray away when Dazai stopped him.

“Forget it! You stay here and peel them for me!” Then Dazai slammed his fist against the bid button again.

The waiter paused. He looked back to the other two waiters guarding by the door. When he has gotten the signal, the waiter picked up a slice of apple and began to peel the skin off with a fruit knife. Seeing that, the other two waiters outside closed the door to allow their guest privacy.

The moment the door shut, the waiter dropped the apple and stabbed the knife into it.

“Well now, that’s not a very good service. I should reconsider the tips I was going to give!” Dazai said dramatically, losing the cold expression he just had as he smiled at the waiter standing over him.

The sound of knuckles crackling echoed throughout the room.

“I was just kidding!” Dazai stretched out one long arm and wrapped it around the waiter's slender hip. With a pull, he had the petite waiter fitting perfectly onto his lap. "If you feed me though, I’ll consider giving you lots of tips tonight~”

He whispered slyly into the waiter’s ear. He watched as the tip of the other man’s ear turned red before the standard white gloves of the waiter pushed his head away.

“Stop messing around!” A deep voice hissed. “The mission—”

“Is over,” Dazai finished for him, holding out a hand. Knowing what he wanted, the waiter reached into his pocket and handed over a USB drive. “All we need to do is to relax and watch the show now.”

The waiter didn’t speak for a long time. Blue eyes turned down to the auction, just as the bidding for that male omega ended.

"He'll be saved," Dazai promised.

The waiter huffed as he reached for the wine on the table. Before he could touch the bottle, his hand was caught by a bandaged one, causing him to look over to the alpha in irritation.

“Now what?”

“I want crabs.”

“Hah? Go get them yourself!”

"But you can break the shells faster than me!" Dazai whined.

Sighing in irritation, the red-haired man grabbed a crab leg. With a simple press of his fingers, the shell completely shattered, revealing the tender flesh inside.

“Here," The redhead snapped as he held the crab to the dark-haired alpha.

Dazai smiled as he gently took that small wrist within his hand. He guided the other man's hand until the piece of crab was against his lips. He took a bite into the juicy meat and slurped it out of the rest of the shell.

Blue eyes stared at the way the alpha ate. He grabbed another one, breaking the shell just as easily before feeding it directly into Dazai’s waiting mouth. On the stage, the omega boy had been taken away. Now, the guests were bidding for an omega girl.

From the corner of his eyes, the waiter watched the amount these rich people poured into that poor girl. It was sickening.

Licking the crab juice from his lips, Dazai was finally satisfied as he looked at his lover whose attention was on the auction.

“So…when are you going to change back, Chuuna-chan?”

“AH?!” A vein popped over the waiter as blue eyes glared darkly at the man beneath him. “Why the hell do I still need to wear that stupid getup!? Didn’t you say the mission’s finished?!”

“The mission itself is complete, but there’s still one more role for Chuuna.” Dazai explained, dropping his smile as he regarded the other with a serious face.

“I threw that stupid dress away." The redhead gritted out. He couldn’t hide his cringe at the memory of that dumb thing he was forced to wear.

"Oh, no need to worry about that! I have it all prepared!” Dazai sang as he pulled out another dress from under his coat.

The waiter’s brows twitched as he stared at the white dress filled with flowers and laces in disbelieve. He jolted out of daze when he felt hands starting to unbutton his shirt.

“The hell you’re doing?!”

“Helping you change?”

“I can do that on my own!”

With that, the bathroom door slammed shut, leaving Dazai all alone in the room. The raven-haired alpha stared at the closed door for a long time before letting out a soft chuckle.

He held up the bottle of wine and smirked after looking over its brand and years. He knew his mate would pick the most expensive one from the winery.

He grabbed two glasses and poured out the wine.

Dazai watched as the female omega was brought off the stage. That was the last of the human trafficking. Now, they were into newly developed drugs that aren’t even out in the market. Dazai popped a grape into his mouth as he waited for his lover to come out. Occasionally, he would tab the bid button when the time was just right to show his participation.

Dazai was swirling his wine in his glass when the bathroom door opened. He looked up and smiled at the beautiful woman that had reappeared before his eyes.

The white tea-length dress was practically made for his omega with the way it showed off his narrow waist and slender limbs. Dazai had every single one of those dresses custom-made just for this day, and the results were better than any of his fantasies. His lover never ceased to amaze him with that beauty of his.

“Here, love," Dazai called, patting his lap as if the omega was some kind of dog that would jump on his command.

A frown appeared over the orange-haired male. The rejection on his face was clear as day.

"I need to add the finishing touches," Dazai said innocently with large, wide eyes.

“Why do I have to sit on your lap to do that?”

“Do you see any other place to sit?”

The redhead looked around and realized that his mate was right. There was only a single couch in this entire room and Dazai was occupying it. Even the table where he set the food was small, not big enough to fit in a person.

“You…don’t tell me you planned this.” He hissed, feeling the urge to pummel his alpha into the wall. He wasn’t going to believe that this auction was so lousy that they can’t even afford to give their guests proper sofa and tables.

“Of course not!” Dazai urged, patting his lap even harder. “Hurry up!”

The redhead gritted his teeth. He told himself to calm down. He can beat this shit up all he wants after they get home. He had promised Dazai to listen to all of his order on this mission, so he will do that.

Crimson light outlined the petite figure. With a simple leap, the omega flew across the room and landed right onto the raven’s lap. Dazai’s arms snaked around that perfect little waist and pulled the redhead back so that his bareback exposed by the dress was pressed against his chest.

"Don't move," Dazai whispered into the other’s ears when the omega tried to get up.

He carefully held his mate’s hand and pulled out a pair of white gloves from his pocket. Slowly, as if treating some kind of delicate and important task, he pulled the glove over his mate’s lovely hands—one finger at a time.

Blue eyes softened as the omega watched the alpha’s ministrations. The redhead began to relax into his alpha’s warm body and allow himself to be taken care of.

After Dazai finished setting the gloves over his mate's hands, he pulled out a bracelet and secured it over that pale right wrist. After that, he pulled out a diamond necklace and earrings, putting them onto his mate carefully to make sure everything was perfect. Then finally, he pushed the pumpkin orange bangs over the omega’s right ear and clipped it up with two simple white clips.

The redhead’s face was slightly flushed at his alpha’s tenderness. Blue eyes darted everywhere but his mate in an obvious sign of shyness.

Dazai grinned as he gave that cute earlobe a nip, causing the other to jump in surprise.

“You—…what’s that?” The omega blinked when he saw his alpha slowly untying the bandages around his left wrist. He didn’t notice at first, but now closer, he could tell those weren’t bandages at all, but white ribbons made of fine silk.

“For your neck," Dazai answered. “We have to hide your Adam’s apple after all.”

The omega didn’t say anything after that. He leaned forward, giving his mate space for him to tie the ribbon around his neck.

The fabric was extremely soft and with the alpha’s gentleness, the redhead didn’t feel the slightest bit of discomfort.

Dazai wrapped a couple of layers of ribbon that beautiful pale neck and tied a large bow to the side. Fixing the bow up just right, he pulled his mate back against his body and his hands slid down to those smooth, well-defined legs.

"W-what are you doing?!" the redhead spluttered, pressing the dress down when the alpha suddenly pulled his right leg into the air.

“Shoes of course! What did you think I was doing?” Dazai asked innocently as that perverted hand stroke down his bare leg. “Now come a bit closer, I can’t reach your foot like this.

“Wait, stupid!” Chuuya yelped when Dazai pulled his knee against his chest so he could grab his foot. The omega shivered at the feeling of the cold air stroking his bottom. He never felt as embarrassed in his entire life as this very moment.

Chuuya felt the familiar weight of woman's heel slipped onto his foot and tied around his ankle. When Dazai was done, he slowly put his mate's leg down, making sure to slide his hand back up that smooth skin as he did so. Then without any warning, the redhead had his other leg pulled up as his dress pooled around his waist.

Although Dazai was slipping on the white heel for his lover, his eyes were focused on that pale hip exposed to his sight. He could see the smooth linings of the lingerie he had sacrificed two ribs just to get his mate to put on before heading out.

It was a plain white bikini made of satin.

The way that thin piece of fabric slid against that milk white skin made the saliva in the alpha's mouth increase. When the omega shifted around as he tried to cover his private area, the silky fabric of his underwear was pushed up a little, revealing a red kiss mark a certain alpha had left from last night. Saliva nearly spilled out of the alpha's mouth at the alluring sight.

The moment he finished putting on the shoe, the weight on his lap was gone. Dazai sighed in disappointment as he watched his lover landing ever so gracefully on those five-inch heels with the white dress fluttering around him.

Dazai got up, grasping his mate's hand and guided him to the bathroom to stand before the wide mirror.

“What do you think?” He purred into the omega’s ear.

The redhead stared at himself with wide blue eyes. When the two of them standing stood together in front of the mirror-like this, the omega realized how matching their outfits were. It wasn’t just the colour scheme, but also their style—especially the way Dazai did his hair.

The alpha’s hair had combed back on his left side, and he had done the same thing for the redhead’s right side.

It was like they were wearing a lover’s set of clothes.

Colours rose to the redhead’s cheeks at this realization. It was even enough for him to forget that he was dressed up as a girl. Just as he turned to the alpha and parted those rosy lips, the ship shook with the loud sound of explosion coming from below.

“What was that?!” The redhead gasped, using gravity to steady himself on the floor.

"Looks like we're not the only ones that infiltrated into this auction." The alpha said as those sharp eyes narrowed.

“Who—” The redhead’s words got cut off when the ship shook again as another explosion blasted from somewhere below them.

“No good, they’re trying to sink the ship!” Dazai said urgently. “Chuuya! Get the ship to the beach!”

“Tch! Grab onto something, shitty Dazai!” Chuuya ordered as crimson outline spread through his body. Kicking off the floor, he flew across the room, kicking the door right off the hinge as he came out into the hall.

The moment he did, the sound of gunfire echoed across the cruise.

The disoriented guards that were shaken from the blast instantly found a target the moment Chuuya appeared before them. Bullets flew towards the red-haired woman dress in white. The moment the bullets touched her, it all froze in midair as if held onto by an invisible force.

A wide, devilish smirk tugged apart those rosy lips. With a spin kick, all the bullets were sent back flying to the guards. The moment white heels touched the ground, the omega was off into the air, shooing into the enemies at a speed faster than their bullets. He easily destroyed them with kicks and punches.

Just as Chuuya was about to thrust a leg into another guard, all of his hair shot up upon the heavy static rumbling in the air. A split second later, the redhead let out a choked cry when electricity zapped through his entire body.

“Now, now, that’s no way for a lady to behave.” A grating voice sang as Chuuya stumbled, his body momentarily numbed from the shock as he glared up at a blond, rat-faced man standing in front of him dressed in those standard waiter uniform. His body was practically glowing with electricity dancing around his body like docile pets.

The man let out a high pitched laugh, licking his lips as he eyed the omega before him.

As Chuuya tried to steady his shaking hands, sharp blue eyes darted around to see a few more waiters coming up to surround him. These people must have been hiding somewhere waiting for an opportunity to attack. The air around these newcomers was different from the ones he had taken down. That means these are the Ability users guarding the auction.

“Heh…saves me the trouble of finding all of you." Chuuya snickered as the numbness in his body finally subsided. These Ability users weren't expecting such a deep voice to come out of the feminine-looking omega, so they were all taken back.

Taking his chance, Chuuya appeared in front of the rat-faced man in a blink of an eye. The man couldn't even react before he was sent flying across the hall. Crimson light outlined his body and slammed him with a force so strong he went right through the floor.

Without a pause, Chuuya spun on his heels, about to face the rest when his ankle twisted.

“Damn it!” Chuuya gasped, cursing his mate as he watched an Ability user sent out a blast of fire towards him.

Chuuya could already feel heat licking at his exposed skin as he watched those flames came at him. Just as he was about to activate his ability to pull himself away from the fire, a warm arm wrapped around his waist, breaking his fall as Chuuya saw a bandaged hand stretched towards the flame. The moment the scorching fire touched that hand, it disappeared in a flash of light.

“Getting rusty there, partner.” Dazai’s voice came from above his head.

“This wouldn't happen if you didn't make me wear this stupid getup!" Chuuya growled. He put his hands onto his lover’s shoulders, using the tall lanky alpha as leverage as he flipped over the alpha and slammed his heel into an ability user that tried to sneak up behind them, bashing him right through the floor to join his teammate.

Dazai smiled as he sidestepped a bullet. He grabbed his omega's hand and intertwined their fingers. With a pull, the two of them switched place. With his gravity, Chuuya sent the bullets that had aimed for Dazai flying back while Dazai nullified some weird, jelly-like substances shot at Chuuya.

The two of them fought with grace. Their movements were completely in sync like a dance as they mow down the ability users one after another.

After the enemies were taken care of, the pair made it out into the deck where Dazai stopped and let go of his lover’s hand.

The redhead flew towards the sky on a small piece of board ripped off of the deck. The ship was already half-sunken by this point with the rear of the ship completely in water.

"That's why I said we should have done this from the beginning." The redhead smirked, spreading his arms as crimson light outlined the entire ship. Without even breaking a sweat, the omega lifted the ship out of the greedy clutches of the sea. Changing the gravitation, he sent the ship hurling towards the beach.

From the sky, the redhead was able to see the people gathered at the beach. Police cars were flashing blue and red lights and he could even see the familiar faces of his mate’s co-workers.

“He knew this would happen?" The redhead frowned. He looked to the deck, eyes searching for his mate but Dazai was nowhere to be found.

Just as the ship slid onto the beach, the omega changed the gravitation again and made it come to an abrupt stop. With his ability, he deformed the bottom of the ship until it was completely flat so that it can stand upright. After letting it sink deep into the sand and making sure it wouldn't fall over, he released his power over it.

Tossing aside the piece of wooden board he was standing on, the redhead was about to just drop down like usual when his dress was blown upward by the strong wind. The feeling of the cold air flowing between his legs made him tremble as his face flared up in red.

His legs clamped together tightly and was about to shove his hands between his legs to push the dress down when he remembered there were people around. He had to act natural. He can’t do such an embarrassing pose. Chuuya convinced himself that it was fine. From their angle, they couldn't possibly see anything.

Chuuya slowly and carefully drifted down. With his power, he added weight to the dress so it wouldn't fly up to his face as he came down. He took slow and steady breathes, hoping that the embarrassment on his face hadn't been seen.

The people below hurriedly moved away at the sight of the woman descending from the night sky. Wearing nothing but white, she was practically glowing beneath the moonlight. Her hair lightly swayed in the windless air and her dress twirled around those slender legs.

At that very moment, there was only one thought that ran through everyone’s mind.

This woman was an angel.

As Chuuya flew down, he saw a raven-haired man in white suit standing on the sand gazing up at him with those soft umber eyes. He extended a bandaged hand up towards the omega like a gentleman offering a lady to a dance.

Without thinking, the redhead reached out. He placed his hand onto the alpha's larger palm. Long fingers wrapped securely around his hand before blinding light burst from their joined hands. Chuuya let out a small gasp as his control over gravity was nullified. The omega fell into the alpha's waiting arms as his white dress fluttered around them.

Under the silvery moonlight, the alpha and omega stood by the seashore dressed in white and embracing one another. It was truly a sight to behold.

“Welcome back, my dear," Dazai said affectionately as the redhead blushed from within his mate’s arms.

Chuuya opened his mouth, about to say something back when the sound of someone clearing their throat cut in.

"Ahem!"

The redhead hastily jumped out of his alpha's arms and turned to see rows of people standing there gawking at them. At the very front were his mates' co-workers from that detective firm.

A silver-haired alpha dressed in kimono and wooden sandals walked up to them. He was the one who had interrupted just now.

“Well done on your missions." The alpha complimented as sharp eyes gazed down at Chuuya. “It was thanks to you that we have successfully captured the targets and the data containing all of their trades. We were also able to safely apprehend all the people on the ship, including eight Ability users that were taken down. You have my thanks.”

Chuuya opened his mouth but snapped his jaw shut when he remembered that he was still pretending to be a girl. In the end, he just nodded as a response.

“I have heard about your situation from Dazai-kun.” The man continued. “Nakahara Chuuya, former King of Sheep.”

Blue eyes widened for only a split second before reverting back to normal. Chuuya looked towards Dazai who was smiling all innocently at him. The bastard, what in the world was he planning now?

"During the crossfire between Port Mafia and the Sheep that had allied with the Gelhart Security Service, you faked your death to escape from Port Mafia’s eyes. Since then, you've gone underground together with Dazai-kun. I have seen the reports of missions you had performed together with Dazai-kun secretly behind Port Mafia’s back. Dazai-kun also vouched for your excellency in handling with paper works as well. The Agency could use someone of your skills. Welcome to the Armed Detective agency. You may begin your work first thing tomorrow morning. I am sure Dazai-kun will show you the steps.”

“…Hah?” Chuuya could only utter dumbly.

Unfortunately for him, the silver-haired man didn't care to elaborate. With his speech said and done, he walked off, leaving one petrified Nakahara Chuuya.

“Um, congratulation!” A voice snapped him out of daze as Chuuya blinked and found the rest of the Armed Detective Agency members gathered before him. The one who spoke just now was that boy Dazai picked up with the tiger ability.

Chuuya had been there that time in the warehouse when his mate confronted the boy. Dazai had told him there would be something fun and called him over. To avoid being noticed by his mate's co-workers, he had been sitting on the rooftop watching everything from there.

“Your ability was amazing, Chuuna—I mean…Nakahara-san!” The boy continued, looking at the redhead with sparkling eyes.

“I’ve never seen such strong ability before!” Yosano commented, thoroughly impressed.

“That was gravity was it?” Tanizaki asked timidly.

The group's voices began to turn into a jumble of noises. Through Chuuya’s ringing ears, he couldn't pick out anything but congratulations and welcomes. Before he could process everything that had happened, his hands were grasped by a larger pair…but ones that definitely did not belong to his mate.

“WELCOME!” A certain blond with glasses was literally in tears as he shouted these words to him. “Finally! Finally I won't need to deal with that human waste of bandages anymore! Welcome to our Agency…really…welcome…!"

Chuuya sweatdropped as he watched a grown man broke down into sobs right before his eyes. If he remembered correctly, this was Dazai’s…partner?

The corner of Chuuya’s lips twitched. He had a pretty good idea what this was about already…

“Ku-ni-ki-da-kun~” Dazai’s singsong voice cut in as Chuuya found a pair of arms wrapping around his shoulders from behind. With a hard pull, the omega stumbled into his alpha’s chest as his hands slipped out of the weeping beta’s.

“Could you not go around molesting my darling Chuuya?” Dazai asked with a bright smile. Though he was smiling, there was an eerie shadow cast over his eyes with veins throbbing beneath the thin skin of his forehead.

Kunikida kept on crying as he wiped his face into his sleeve, completely oblivious to his partner's (soon to be ex-partner) threats. The blond was too overjoyed to notice anything around him anymore.

"So there you have it, everyone!" Dazai exclaimed to the rest of his comrades. “My mate, Nakahara Chuuya, will be working in the Agency starting tomorrow, please look after—”

“JUST WAIT A FUCKING DAMN SECOND YOU SCHEMING BASTARD!” A very husky and unmistakably a male’s voice roared throughout the air, causing every single bystander to turn into stones as they stared at the source of where that deep voice came from.

Even the President who was quite far away staggered when he heard the voice.

The only one that didn’t seem the slightest bit shock was Ranpo. He was cackling as he took in everyone's reactions as if this was exactly what he came here for.

That beautiful memory of the angel in white drifting down from the night shattered in every single one of their hearts. Right now, that ethereal being was clutching onto the raven-haired alpha's collar and shaking the life of him while screaming in a man’s voice, “What did he mean hire?! When did I say that I wanted to work at your place?!”

“But Chuuya!” Dazai spluttered as his eyes swirled from being shaken so violently. "Didn't you miss going onto mission together? Instead of hiding in the dark helping me with jobs like back in the old days, we can now work together all the time!”

“Like hell I want to work with you every single day! I thought it was weird, you’re the one behind those explosions on that ship, weren’t you?! And what did that guy meant by I'm good with paper works? You shitty vagabond! Don't tell me you're planning on pushing all of your works onto me!”

“Chuuya! How could you accuse me of something like that?!”

“You were doing that way back in your Mafia days, you bastard! Don't tell me you forgotten how you brought home stacks after stacks of your paperwork every fucking night, threatening me to do them for you!”

“CHUUYA!” Dazai suddenly shouted. His outburst made Chuuya jumped as his grip over the alpha’s collar loosened.

“I want to work with you again, Chuuya," Dazai said seriously as he cupped the redhead’s face within his hands. He leaned down towards the omega until their forehead touched. Chuuya unconsciously held his breath as he stared into those warm brown eyes gazing at him, portraying nothing but love and adoration.

“This time, I don’t want to keep you in the dark anymore. I want you to come out into the light. What do you say, Chuuya?” He whispered so softly that Chuuya could barely hear over the ocean breeze.

It wasn’t the first time Dazai mentioned working in the light and all that. Every time he did, Chuuya would just brush him off.

On that faithful day, after his comrades betrayed him, Dazai gave him an offer. Join Port Mafia, or serve under him. Should he choose the latter, Dazai will use his position within the Port Mafia to help him get all the information with regards to Arahabaki. In addition to that, Dazai also promised him the members of the Sheep’s safety.

Chuuya didn't like the raven-haired alpha at the time, but he didn't like the idea of being part of the Port Mafia even more, especially after such betrayal. With nothing left, Chuuya chose the second option. As much as he hated Dazai, from just their short time together Chuuya knew the man was one to keep his words.

Dazai indeed kept his words.

First, he pulled the Sheep out of the battle while both the Mafia and GSS were distracted by one another and sent them away. After that, he faked Chuuya’s death before the eyes of his men and handed in a false report to his boss. Since then, Chuuya had always been in living under Dazai’s arrangement.

Ougai Mori never investigated the matter. It wasn’t like Mori completely trusted Dazai. If anything, Mori was always watching Dazai in fear that the youngest executive would one day overthrow him from his position. The reason was simply because Chuuya wasn’t important enough to have him take any actions.

Chuuya’s ability was strong, but not so strong that Mori would waste efforts to dig out a person Dazai had hid. To Mori, Dazai’s existence was more important than Chuuya, so creating a rift between them over Chuuya simply wasn’t worth it.

However, all that was built upon the fact that Chuuya and Dazai got no relationships.

That was why even when Dazai started working at his new job, Chuuya chose to keep hiding.

The Port Mafia might be alright with their ex-executive jumping to the Armed Detective Agency, but what if Chuuya got involved? If he appears, then the Port Mafia might not quietly watch from the distance anymore but would do everything to take Dazai back.

As mates, they were essentially one. By taking Dazai back, not only would Port Mafia regain their most powerful strategist, but they will also have their hands on the vessel of Arahabaki.

They would become a two in one deal which would be too tempting for the Port Mafia to pass. Anytime the Port Mafia needed Chuuya’s power, all they need to do was to put a gun against Dazai and Chuuya would be forced to do their bidding. Likewise, Chuuya could also be used for Mori to control Dazai.

That was one thing that can never happen.

Chuuya rather live in the shadows for the rest of his life than to become Dazai’s leash. Besides, his current lifestyle wasn't bad. It was very laid back...though sometimes he did found it boring, especially with his mate having to work most of the time.

Tonight was probably the first in a while that he felt this good. He missed using his Ability and getting some actions to stretch his muscles.

Chuuya sighed as he pulled his face out of his mate’s hands. “The Port Mafia—”

“We will deal with them when the time comes. As long as we’re together, Mori-san won’t lay a finger on you. Not without risking the entire organization.”

“Aren’t you confident?”

“Of course.” Dazai smiled. “Because Chuuya is my mate.”

“Hmph…” Chuuya snorted, seemingly much calmer than before.

“By the way, Dazai…” Chuuya breathed softly against his mate’s lips.

“Yes, love?” Dazai breathed back tenderly.

“There was no reason for me to change back to this getup, was there?”

A moment of silence passed between the lovey-dovey couple.

“Chuuya!” Dazai pulled back with a loud gasp as if he had received some sort of huge shock. With a face full of seriousness, he clasped his omega’s hands tightly within his own.

“You were like an angel descending from the heavens.”

Chuuya’s automatic Dazai translator: “Your underwear is sexy.”

“GO TO HELL YOU STINKIN' MACKEREL!"

Dazai could have avoided the attack easily.

He knew his lover's timing and patterns, evading his attack was as simple as breathing. However, for the first time, the alpha was completely rooted in his spot.

His eyes were blown wide and as a curtain of white parted before his eyes. That beautifully shaped leg of his mate was seemingly coming at him in slow motion. Dazai’s eyes hungrily raked over that smooth and elastic skin. His eyes trailed higher and higher until his caught a glimpse of that heavenly sight just before the side of a white heel made contact with the side of his head.

CRACK

Later on, someone from the Agency looked back at this moment and asked Dazai why he made the omega change into a dress knowing he would get beat up for it.

The alpha’s response was this…

"I’m going to get kicked either way, why not get some benefits out of it~?"

The veins on Chuuya’s head throbbed as the omega watched his mate drew a perfect arc in the sky and fell headfirst into the sea. The redhead didn't know why, but he felt even more irritated despite landing a hit just now.

With a huff, the omega turned to leave.

The mackerel could swim back for all he cared. He was too tired for this shit. The moment he gets home, he will use his power to mangle the lock to all their doors and windows so a certain someone wouldn’t be able to lock-pick his way in. After that, he will jam the doorbell, close the curtain, blast their home with loud rock music, throw out all of those canned crabs and get some well-deserved rest in his and Dazai's king-sized bed.

Each step the red-haired omega took, the ground beneath his five-inch heels would split and cave in from the force. Nakahara Chuuya walked through the petrified statues that were the Armed Detective Agency as the morning sun slowly rises from the horizon.

From that day on, a new rumour began to spread throughout Yokohama.

An unstoppable duo has formed within the Armed Detective Agency that even the Port Mafia was wary of.

They called them,

Double Black.

Dead Apple Movie Report/Summary

as promised, here’s my reaction thread/summary/speculations/theories about the Dead Apple Movie!!! sorry it’s a day late orz

everything under the cut because IT’S LONG. the CR subs comparison is c/o Fayto-san!!!! i watched the movie in SE Asia, so it’s a different company who handled the subtitles/distribution (it’s ODEX).

here goes! (also a warning/enticement: i’m shamelessly biased towards chuuya and soukoku)

Extra Notes:

- we probably got ourselves perma-banned so many places yesterday (the restaurant where we had lunch, the coffeeshop we went to pre-movie, the foodcourt where we had our post-movie drink, the entire mall itself....) because we were..... quite wild haha

- we took up a whole row in the cinema and there was another group that had their own row behind us! they're chuuya fans too, which is always awesome. the girl behind me is educating her new-to-the-fandom friend to ship soukoku "even if dazai is an asshole", which is Big Mood.

- certain someones (lol) cough "walking dead show" whenever soda is onscreen;;;;; if only They Knew that was the actual theme of the show (more on that below)

- our group was the loudest in the squealing/shrieking ahahaha. and aside from the obvious chuuya and soukoku scenes, we were the loudest at: (1) ALL THE GIRLS (each time yosano/agatha/tsujimura/kyouka's mom appeared, there's guaranteed squealing; Kyouka is Best Girl); (2) akutagawa's Dynamic Entry & akutagawa's curl-up lol; (3) that scene in the OP with the pm dazai & ada dazai; (4) the backstab scene; (5) dazai's handcuff escape & pill swallow. we were also fairly loud at some of atsushi's scenes, but it was more out of laughter??? like.... tiger son, you're kinda unintentionally funny/narmy this movie;;;;

- the people behind us each time there's an atsukyou scene: "BUT. SHE'S. 14." / "she's cuuuute" / "but. she's. 14."

- drinking game: drink for (1) each time atsushi yells kyouka's name - you won't make it out alive within the first 30 mins. slightly easier version: drink for (2) each time there's an orphanage flashback. fast-paced version: drink for (3) each time the "CLAWSSSS" was repeated

Movie Itself:

- chuuya's dynamic entry is so cool, pink motorbike included. like 30% of movie budget probably went to the animation of that scene. it's also asdfghk;da that chuuya tooling/destroying buildings is like, part of his theme in this movie. also, it makes me excited to see a pm days!soukoku driving a car to a mission - they both drive like hell lol

- dazai's "hi, chuuya~" haunts me until now, like. stop sounding so sassy and flirty, gdI but then again, dazai's teasing voice when he talks to chuuya the entire time is sassy and flirty so. asdfhgla

- dazai's “It would have been interesting if Chuuya got struck with lightning instead.” made us shriek because pre-movie, we were discussing that the French term for lightning strike, "le coup de foudre" is associated with love at first sight

- dazai complaining that because chuuya arrived 5 mins late, dazai had to get hit 3 times & chuuya just rolling with that = old married couple vibe much;;;;

- on a more serious note - it's very interesting to see this side of chuuya - in his previous appearances, he was the type to immediately blow his fuse whenever dazai says something to infuriate him, but this time, while he still bickers with dazai, there's a serious edge to it? chuuya's about to deal with the cause of death of his sheep fa(r)m, after all.

- (also - wtf was that dude holding a gun to dazai's head doing??? he just allowed dazai, his hostage, to fucking talk in the communicator the entire time???? bro, you ok??? are you sure you're a villain??? it would be funny tho if the 3 smacks that dazai was talking was 1 smack per sentence that he said on the communicator - because he did say 3 hahaha)

- chuuya activating For The Tainted Sorrow wordlessly (come to think of it, he has never said anything to activate For The Tainted Sorrow? like, everyone else says their ability name....) and on a whole building range = fucking lit. i wonder how's the range/control for his ability... because he managed to knock every single one of the mooks (incl the Lightning User) on that building rooftop in like, 3 seconds. and he managed to do it *without* crushing his bike, which is also on the roof, so he's able to do fine-tune who can be affected.

- chuuya so very tsun-tsun and dishonest when he wants to "help"!!! like aside from destroying buildings, being married w/dazai and being beautiful - one of chuuya's themes in the movie is that.... he does things that others tell him to, in two ways. one is if it's an order/job - which he'll only take from his superior/boss. another is if it's a debt he has to repay.

- soukoku then meets shibusawa; dazai says that all the gems that shibu's throwing away are wasted and it would have made for a good gift to women. chuuya asks for shibu to return the sheep fa(r)m, but shibu says that the sheep won't return because they committed the (apple) suicide. (so the sheep are Ability users? at least these six?)

- in the crunchyroll ver, shibu calls chuuya (&dazai?) "boring guests", while in odex ver, he calls them "bored guests"

- upon hearing confirmation that sheep fa(r)m is deader than dead, chuuya activates corruption wordlessly and tells dazai to not stop him. dazai actually acquiesces to that order w/o mouthing off, so it's good to see that he actually acknowledges how important it is for chuuya to avenge the sheep fa(r)m, despite the events in 15...

- building with soukoku&shibu explodes....... and camera pans to dramatically billowing in the wind coat of fyodor as he watches the proceedings, and calls it great entertainment. (so fyodor has already seen corruption at work? hmmmmm)

- re: the ADA briefing re: shibusawa....... like. ranpo-san. if you already knew how everything will happen/end......can you like.......inform the rest of ADA too......

- the fog events where a fog appears then disappears after a *few minutes* leaving behind a corpse of an Ability user started 3 years ago. the info that they have on shibu is that he's 29, he's an ability user, he goes by "collector", and he's the person responsible for the fog events

- also laughing at how... the meeting kunikida & tanizaki went to, to meet with the Special Ops agent... so shady hahaha. though apparently, this is the first time that the "calling card" of a stabbed, juicy apple is left behind.

- tanizaki: "why an apple?" / kunikida: "how should i know?" asd;sfha;ds why is that your main concern tanizaki, there's a dead person there in front of you hahahaha

- (flashback to bar lupin - dazai asking soda if he knows about apple suicides & soda replying that it's cinderella..... and dazai saying that soda is really interesting because of that.....dazai, your definition of interesting.... is if people don't know cultural/literary references? and soda's an aspiring author at this point??? do you sure??? and dazai giving such motives to snow white ahahaha, the definition of overthinking....;;;)

- dazai gets ambushed by ango in front of bar lupin after dazai took the pill (that would supposedly eventually act as an antidote) (like.....how the fuck did dazai end up hiding that pill in his mouth for that long and he kept on talking a lot and it didn't slip or melt wHAT) & ango says that dazai's the one who brought shibu back to yokohama;;; dazai doesn't get captured by ango's team, bec that's when the fog appears

- (atsushi sleeps inside kyouka's closet???? like............why. i thought he had his own dorm room before??? and kyouka's apparently living (in the dorm???) that's quite far away from the agency itself, bec they had to walk a long way to reach the agency?? i was initially thinking it was like, just behind the office or just the next street over hahaha

- ADA budget apparently is spent on high-tech communicators (just use special satellite phones asdj;asd) and fancy gun storage. i'm a bit disappointed that there wasn't a flamethrower. also, the gun that kuni gave atsushi??? had so many fucking bullets.

- ango and his team is able to monitor the fog in yokohama so they're.... not in yokohama? do they have like an airship or something? the fog is apparently able to remove any non-ability users in the vicinity & separate the ability user from his gift. ango reveals that the HQ of the enemies is an abandoned tower called Mukurotoride in the middle of yokohama and i'm just.... did nobody ever think that an abandoned tower in the middle of a busy city isn't damn suspicious???? it's apparently been there for a long time ffs

- (atsushi has this one-track mind that because dazai saved him, then dazai must be good at all costs, which is. i'd love to say it's because he trusts dazai, but it's more like those fanatic belief, really. it would be great if the manga can explore this deeper - because atsushi's hypocrisy is a really interesting facet of his character. atsushi who doesn't even want to point his gun towards the enemy abilities in the beginning and who say that 'even if he's a villain, we don't know the type of person he is...' 'no matter how bad they are, there's no need to kill them', but when akutagawa says that bec dazai is an enemy now, he'll kill him, atsushi reflexively points a gun at aku...)

- ango's subordinates track chuuya (A5158) down and sends him a message to "pay his debt to professor glasses"

- bitch trio scene! shibusawa's theme of boredom bec he's apparently that much of a genius whose intellect can't be surpassed. dazai says that he's just like shibu before, bored beyond belief. when shibu asks dazai how he's surpassed it, dazai claims that he's going to show shibu and that shibu doesn't know what's dazai's true intentions. shibu shoots it down by saying that it's only dazai who thinks he's fushigi mystery. dazai says that shibu needs salvation.... by either an angel or a demon.

- and because call a demon and he'll appear, fyodor appears. who tells the two that they're the only ones who think they're being mysterious because they're pretty easy to read. (shibu then calls fyodor "Majin Fyodor-kun" ahhh). dazai claims that fyodor's the one most likely to betray shibu, which fyodor agrees with. shibu just says that there hasn't been anyone who surpassed his expectations, so he's looking forward to it.

- during the entire bitch trio scene, there's a focus on apples and a certain skull.

- aku telling kyouka that she now has the opportunity to kill him in an ability-less world asdfgh;lasd

- the PM apparently has made an emergency passage specially made to counteract ability user-attacks and can't be penetrated by the fog?? i wonder how they made it?? a nullifying ability from dazai??? hmm

- aku says that the fog is a "dragon's breath" & aku schooling atsushi on information gathering is asdfjg;asd (i wonder who gave the info to aku though....? probs mori haha)

- at this point, i'm gonna jump the explanations and go with - during this entire movie, shibusawa is already dead. he's a walking dead. except for That One Flashback, shibu is dead.

- shibu then welcomes the bitch trio to his collection room, Draconia. which is filled with crystallized abilities. the room has abilities that are bright red and dull red - apparently, all the ability users that is engulfed with the mist will have crystals in the room - once the ability user has been defeated by their ability, the ability will be crystallized and will become a bright red gem inside the collection room. the collected ability can then be taken and used by anyone who's holding the red gem.

- fyodor says that the collection is enough to make a devil jealous, while shibu says that fyodor sold him information about most of the ability users in his collection, which is how he was able to collect them. (remember in the Fyodor v A chapter - fyodor got himself captured so he can steal the notes/docs about Port Mafia members. *more on this below)

- Shibusawa: But how did you gather all that information? Fyodor: Every city is filled with rats. Dazai: Meow.

- that meow also haunts me hahahaha

- shibu then basically says that he's actually just looking for That One Special Ability to make the collection worthy

- akuatsukyou arrive at the end of the passage? but it's foggy, so either the fog is stronger, they're outside of the passage, or aku's lying about the passage being impenetrable by the fog asd;fasd

- Shibusawa: To me, people are nothing but machines of flesh, behaving in identifiable ways. But there is just one person I fail to comprehend. Myself. Dazai: Don't you have any friends? Shibusawa: I don't need friends. I understand everyone's mind, after all. I will surely go to the world beyond, between my lines, past the blank spaces. Dazai: You wouldn't be saying that if you actually had friends.

- this exchange is just so asdfgj'asds like pls you two

- akutagawa summarizes rashomon's ability as.... "to change a cloth to a blade and send it flying towards the enemy". i'm so proud of how aku's able to utilize that ability and create so many things (so demon armor is literally like a suit of blades??? damn son);;; (also, this brings to mind the saying "silk hiding steel" hahaha)

- aku defeating rashomon by slapping it towards the vat of lava..... damn son again;;;; aku going "just as planned", then rashomon apparently survives and aku changes it to "just as i expect from my own ability" ahahahaha.... and aku telling rashomon that he should quiet down and that he belongs in there (in his coat).... ahh bless him

- atsushi shattering the crystal on Byakko by shoving the blade inside its mouth.... is apparently Foreshadowing for something later

- chuuya complaining that he's being expected to go to ango's facility by one phone call.... but chuuya.... you still went..... ;;;;;

Chuuya: You've got some nerve, expecting me to answer your phone call like I'm on your beck and call. Ango: May we have some time alone? This is a government facility. You don't expect to get away doing something like this, do you? (referring to chuuya probs destroying a dozen doors in the process of him reaching ango's office) Chuuya: I'll be the one to decide if I do or not. Not you. Ango: You have a debt to me. Chuuya: No, you have a debt with me. Ango: What are you talking about? Chuuya: Don't act dumb. Do you think I'm stupid? It's about what happened six years ago. Ango: What do you mean? Chuuya: It was the government who sent Shibusawa into the Dragon Head Conflict. It was supposed to end the conflict that had engulfed all of Yokohama. But he never had any intention of maintaining peace. All you did was create more corpses. You sheltered him anyway, because he's a gifted that can help in protecting the nation. That's why, not only did you turn a blind eye to all the corpses he'd produced overseas, you covered it all up. Ango: All for the peace in this nation. Chuuya (grabbing Ango): Watch your mouth, professor glasses. If you hadn't sent him out, all six of my friends would be alive right now. Ango: Will you kill me? I wouldn't mind. I've been prepared ever since I'd decided to ask for your assistance. Chuuya (throwing Ango aside): It's a deal, then. I'll accept your job. And you'll pay with your life.

- back at the creepy beautiful castle:

- fyodor and dazai utter the "keikaku doori" line, which means shit is about to go down - apparently fyozai had made a team-up to sneak into the collection room w/o shibu knowing - dazai reveals that he worked to "guide" shibu in yokohama because shibu is someone that can't be touched because he has the protection of the government... which means that he'll just continue filling up his collection room with ability users and japanese gov't will just turn a blind eye to it, and therefore shibu must be stopped by other means - fyodor says that even w/o dazai meddling with shibu, shibu would create a fog in yokohama. - fyodor takes out 2 abilities. 1st ability can summon all ability users in the area and teleport them to a single place. 2nd can turn the abilities of the gifted who touch it into crystals. (was A a foreshadowing for this all along? A's ability is to change the lifespan of his subordinates to jewels....what is with fyodor and ability users re: gems hahah) - fyodor holds up the 2 gems so that dazai can touch it and nullify it

- (a side note: at this point, here are the characters who've been shown to still retain their abilities: Dazai, Chuuya, Fyodor*more on this later; Dazai because his nullification still works; Chuuya, because he still had that glowy red when he dealt with ango and cracked an entire office wall in the process)

- the logic is that, if dazai touches the 2 gem abilities... the crystals will be broken and the abilities will return to their "former state"*** (v important) and the ability to summon all ability users in one place (aka The Fog) will be cancelled and therefore fog will disappear

- fyodor offers the 2nd gem first... dazai touches it.... but instead of the abilities returning to their owners, the abilities escaped from the crystal shells inside the collection room and fused into one

- before dazai can work on dispelling the fog by touching the 1st gem, shibusawa stabs dazai in the back with a fruit knife. shibu says that he expected this, bec nothing surpasses his expectations. dazai just blandly says "i see... so this is where the betrayal happens", bec fyodor had supposedly locked the door to the collection room when they entered it, but woopsie, apparently not, because fyodor values entertainment

- dazai asks shibu what's his next step, but shibu says that his target is dazai anyway, so there's "no next"

- dazai says that he didn't expect a fruit knife to hurt this bad, so there must be poison in it

- shibu tells dazai that he can now taste the death he's longed for dearly

- in CR subs: dazai says: "How could you? This feels great" while in ODEX subs, dazai says: "What have you done? This doesn't feel great at all", which i think makes more sense

- fyodor says that "with the owner dead, the ability leaves him", and dazai "dies" and "no longer human" crystallizes

- (a side note: so it's confirmed that if ability user dies, ability leaves him.... but what happens to it next? is it transferred to a next person? how about its effects? the people that yosano healed... will their effects be gone and therefore the people will regain their wounds??)

- shibu holds NLH in his palms. shibu's very excited to see NLH crystallized because it very blue (as opposed to the red-gem abilities), the blue changes to red, gemblocking him.

- (presumably, NLH activates?? but.... fyodor held the two gems before and they didn't really activate.... but maybe they didn't because they were already active??)

- Fyodor: The merging ability (the 1st gem, aka: The Fog, aka Shibusawa's Ability) and the disabling ability (NLH). With the two contrary abilities becoming one, a singularity is born. Even with Dazai's special ability, what you really desire-- your lost memories-- will never come back.

- fyodor then says that he'll help shibu recover his memories, and slits his throat

- (joint orphanage flashback time!! c/o atsu and shibu as shibu regains his memories! shibu experiments on young atsushi by electrocuting him. shibu says that the president was mistaken about atsushi's ability, implying that atsushi's real ability isn't Beast Underneath the Moonlight. it's apparently a Very Special Ability, but atsushi's not able to use it properly because of his youth/inexperience. shibu says that even he isn't able to pull the ability out and collect it with his fog.

- in CR subs, shibu says that: "It's the only special ability that won the envy of all other gifted." // in ODEX subs, shibu says that: "It's a special ability that can grant the wishes of other ability users"

(a side note - if his real ability is an ability that can grant his wish, it's possible that atsushi probably read a picture book somewhere or got influenced into thinking that Tigers are Bad. his ability goes haywire, bec it was too strong and he was too young to control it, so atsushi's ability has formed into a tiger because atsushi needed something to blame. something beastly. something monstrous. he can't accept that he himself is the one who's hurting others, so he has formed his ability to turn to a tiger. the regeneration, the shounen power ups... they're not very "tiger-like" or it'd make for a very OP tiger, so his ability could be to make his wishes to reality, like "i want to heal!", "i want to be strong!" and the tiger is just the form that atsushi can deal with/can understand. you can even say..... that byakko is his fursona;;;; *gets kicked*)

(more side note: irl!atsushi wrote a story Tiger Poet, which features a man changing to a tiger....that is a poet... so he might have read that story and got an idea re: the tiger. there's a quote there, "We are all the trainers of wild beasts and the beasts in question are our own inner-selves.", which could be atsushi getting the idea of personifying his ability as a tiger so he can "tame it", aka control his ability)

- anyway, young atsushi didn't enjoy the electrocutions, the tiger takes over and claws shibusawa's face off, killing him

- shibu then says that the reason why he targeted atsushi to begin with is because he heard from a Russian named Fyodor that atsushi's ability is special (see the same contrast betw the CR and ODEX subs noted above)

- present time, fyodor then confirms that shibu died at that point. But. upon death, shibusawa apparently inherited a new ability - the ability to split himself (his soul? spirit?) away from his corpse. his body (aka, the skull that's been there the entire time) is the one who remembers death while his mind doesn't remember it and has retreated into a room (the Collection Room) to deal with his Feelings. (so it means that the shibu soukoku faced off in the beginning is walking dead shibu as well, because apparently shibu has gone for the gem collection quest after his death)

- a side note: so Shibusawa's Real/Original Ability is The Fog (1st ability can summon all ability users in the area and teleport them to a single place....and presumably "pull" the ability away from them). after dying, he got the ability to separate his mind from his corpse (redefining mind over matter), presumably given to him by fyodor?. he then gets the ability to turn abilities into crystals, presumably given to him by fyodor too?, then because he's basically a ghost wandering around earth, he tries to find a reason for "existing" to fulfill the void, which leads him to gathering abilities (*more on this later)

- the abilities continue fusing to each other, creating a huge mass. dazai's "dead" body is sucked into that mass.

- fyodor comments that dazia is quite greedy, because even in death, he intends to watch the city fall into destruction. fyodor then says that as congratulation for their anniversary of being friends (LOL; also - they've known each other for a year already? or is fyodor gigglesnorting here and considering that very same day as the start of their friendship?), he'll tell the dead dazai the reason why he managed to keep his ability in the fog.

- a "2nd" fyodor appears, the personification of his ability. he looks exactly like him. they say the "I am crime. I am punishment. Did you know? Crime and punishment are close friends." line ahahaha

- fyodor merges with his ability

- the mass of abilities that sucked dazai in changes for to a dragon

- fyodor reveals that the dragon is the form of the chaos of special abilities. (remember that "original state of abilities" that fyodor said above? apparently, it's a dragon)

- the singularity anomaly readings are over 9000, more than the events 6 years ago (aka, the opening scene). ango checks on chuuya's location to see if he's on his way

Ango: Chuuya-kun... Dazai-kun is almost certainly eliminated by now.Do you understand what that means? (implying that if chuuya ends up using corruption, there's no dazai who'll nullify it, therefore he'll also die) Chuuya: I don't care. Ango: Are you sure? You haven't taken your reward... My life. Chuuya: Don't get cocky, asshole. You were a just lowly infiltrator six years ago. It's not like anyone would have listened to you if you had opposed their plan to use Shibusawa. (Chuuya lowkey implying that he actually doesn't blame Ango all that much, despite all his talk earlier) Chuuya: This is nothing but that idiot's plans. That Dazai is still inside there. No doubt about it. I need to give him a smack, or I'll never get over it. I'm hanging up.

(can i just say.... chuuya.... even though he has no proof of it whatsoever, he believes that dazai's still alive and waiting for him. ango, who can see the readings of the ability users, knows that dazai's dead. but chuuya----he doesn't need that kind of logic. unconditional trust is here, folks. also, the theories about chuuya actually being able to read dazai's plans/motives??? hell yes)

- chuuya's in a plane approaching the castle (so confirmed that ango's office really is floating over yokohama??? or at least not near it?)

Tsujimura: We're approaching the target. Chuuya: You're that chick from way back. Tsujimura: I'm Tsujimura. Are you really going? Chuuya: Yeah. Tsujimura: It's no use. No human can defeat it. That thing is a monster beyond human comprehension. Get overconfident and fight it, and you'll die. (lowkey spoilers about chuuya being beyond human, thanks bones) Chuuya: That's not a reason to chicken out and go home. Do you know when it's all right to chicken out and go home? Tsujimura: I do not. Chuuya (jumping off the plane): There is no such time.

(chuuya's badass way of removing his gloves and jumping off and his hat and coat flying off???? the whole cinema SCREAMED)

- chuuya chants the "grantors of dark disgrace" line and corruption activates

- chuuya lands on a building, breaks it down to chunks and launches them at the dragon (with dazai inside hahaha)

- extended battle scene with chuuya just battling a dragon, which is the force of a fuckton of ability users' abilities combined, and nailing it. like. just. think about it. the dragon is formed by the force of all the abilities. and there's like, more than 128 of them (as per the initial briefing with ADA). chuuya actually defeated the force of that many ability users. fuck.

- chuuya jumps down to a huge-ass building, floats it and uses it to beat up a dragon. a building is being used as a baseball bat to hit a dragon. the sheer scale and ridiculousness of how powerful he is??? amazing.

- chuuya ends up ramming the building to the dragon's mouth. that's how the fight ends. he makes the dragon choke on AN ENTIRE BUILDING.

- chuuya then yells "DAZAIIIIIIIIIIII" as the dragon explodes (while he's still in corruption mode)

- chuuya reaches dazai, who's inside the dragon, and chuuya (still in corruption mode) punches dazai in the face

- the punch is apparently the key needed for dazai to bite down on the pill, releasing the antidote to the poison (if only romeo and juliet knew about this method...)

- dazai lives. chuuya coughs out blood from using corruption for too long.

- they float in the air and dazai. just. softly touches chuuya's cheek, disabling corruption.

Dazai: You believed in me and used Corruption? I'm so touched I could cry. Chuuya: Yeah, I did. I believed in your disgusting craftiness and refusal to die.* Dazai: That was a somewhat violent way of waking Snow White. Chuuya: You're the one who planned it by hiding an antidote in your mouth, knowing I'd punch you.

chuuya. admitting that he believes in dazai. in ODEX subs, it was "i believed in the fact that you wouldn't die", which is extra doki in that ----- even though they've said "i'll kill you" to each other so many times (even in the beginning of the movie) and even though chuuya knows about dazai's double suicide longings.... he still believes that dazai wouldn't die.

and just. dazai implying that he's snow white. and chuuya just rolling with it????? dazai implying that chuuya's the prince who woke up snow white. and chuuya just rolling with it????????

and chuuya KNOWING that him being here is part of dazai's plans and him being here anyways knowing that (even though he had mentioned about dazai's plans always toying with him---)--------------- i CANNOT

Chuuya: Let go, asshole. Dazai: (*dazai presses down on chuuya's head to prevent him from moving*) Don't move. The fog hasn't cleared. I don't want to have to protect you from your special ability in this situation. Chuuya: It's still not over? Dazai: No, it's just beginning. Chuuya: Shit. I can't even move a single finger. (Chuuya collapses into Dazai's thigh, his face/chin landing on Dazai's upper right thigh/hip) Dazai: I predicted things this far. But the rest is on them.

and of course. the lap scene. the scene that killed everyone in the cinema. just. there's no words that can bring it justice. the fuwafuwa atmosphere. the shoujo music background during the floating then the lap scene. the sound of dazai's hand patting chuuya's head. the body placements. the camera angles. that pic in the magazine???? oh boy the actual scene, the extended scene is 10000000000x gayer.

dazai. who shoved atsushi off when he fell on him.

dazai. who had chuuya fall on his crotch and legs and just. let him stay there. like yes, the point is that dazai has to keep on touching chuuya so he can nullify chuuya's ability and therefore not have his powerful ability have a separate form that can fight them. but they didn't have to stay in that position, did they? i mean, chuuya can't move but dazai could have shoved him off, right? he could have touched him using anything else but keeping him between his legs and patting his head/hair right.

(a sidenote. from above. fyodor sold the port mafia's information re: ability users to shibusawa. the ability users that shibu knows about will be in the collection room, their abilities getting taken from them. chuuya has his ability The Entire Movie. he didn't lose for the tainted sorrow, at all. so.

- chuuya's ability too strong and can't be extracted, just like atsushi - OR chuuya's ability not in port mafia records - OR chuuya's info is there, but incorrect/incomplete - OR chuuya's info is there, fyodor kept chuuya's ability's information and didn't sell it (a good theory for fyoya fans???) - OR collection room can only get abilities from humans?

(signs point to the first one....... but the other options are also hmmmmm)

- fyodor planting a broken crystal of shibusawa's original ability crystal on the skull's head (it looks like a goddamn horn) so that shibu becomes the "point of singularity" in lieu of the dragon bec dragon is dead. fog continues.

- shibusawa realizing that all his plot?? at collecting abilities? is just his way of trying to cope with the fact that his real thirst lies with atsushi. no really. he just really, really, really wants to see atsushi again.

- another sidenote: AGATHA IS A QUEEN. also, we're laughing about how Agatha is in command of EU. (no brexit in BSD world, apparently) (but also crying a bit because..... Verlaine and Rimbaud and the Trancendentals could be part of the clock tower order??? because there's 12 Transcendetals, there's 12 #s in a clock and they're from france, therefore europe, therefore part of EU therefore----)

- THAT FUKUMORI BACK TO BACK SCENE. MOTHER OF FUCK. mori having faith in dazai's keikaku..... but he's wrong.... because dazai's keikaku had already ended a few minutes ago, with chuuya in his lap. (but really. so mori can't 100% predict dazai, apparently. because mori thinks that it's still within dazai's plan, but dazai says it's not anymore, so.) also. mori being able to kill the ability-elise but not doing so because of the power of cute??? wow, just wow.

Mori: Fukuzawa-dono. Fukuzawa: What a coincidence, Mori-sensei. Mori: Are you having a problem? Fukuzawa: I've just had a glimpse of a solution. Mori: Excellent. Is it not at times like these that your daily actions speak? (They attack each other's abilities) Fukuzawa: I thought you only used your scalpel. I'll be careful from now on. - the akukyouatsu v shibu fight continues, with shibusawa basically saying, "ATSUSHI THE LIGHT OF MY LIFE" in repeat. the reference re: tiger v dragon is brought up. shibu says that he's not bored anymore bec atsushi's there.

- the tiger and the dragon are enemies. (more on that here: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TigerVersusDragon) apparently, because the dragon represents all the abilities fused together, the tiger is the opposite (......so..... tiger = no abilities? hmmmmm. no wonder fyodor wants him. it's the fulfillment of his goal of a world without abilities, then?). shibu says that atsushi's ability is the opposite of all the abilities, the most special ability of all. atsushi's ability crystallizes, but before shibu can take it, atsushi grabs and says "that's not an ability, that's me!"

- (side note:

- i wasn't expecting that atsushi (whether it's the beast underneath the moonlight or the possibility that his is an ability that takes the form of his desires/wishes) would be the opposite of all the abilities. i would think it's more of dazai's or someone who can erase an ability, but. MC powers? - then again. all of shibusawa's info came from fyodor. so it's also highkey possible that this is all Fake News from fyodor)

Shibusawa: I understand everything, now. Why I'm here, why you appeared before me, and what his words mean... You... You must be the angel who saves me.

- shibu proving dazai right that "an angel" saved him, though technically a "demon" saved him "from death" before too....

- atsushi kills shibu for the second time by crushing his skull

- AGATHA. BEING DISAPPOINTED. THAT YOKOHAMA IS SAVED. because. "The scent of a burning nation goes well with tea." AGATHAAA

- at the end of fighting, chuuya's propped up against the wall of rubble (YOU KNOW THE ONE). his hat apparently landed a few feet away from him. (did dazai drag him there so he can be near his hat? did dazai look for the hat?? did the hat get magically pulled to where chuuya is??).

akutagawa appears.

chuuya asks what the hell is he doing here, then says that the idiot dazai is safe.

akutagawa..... bows to chuuya.

but then akutagawa starts to leave chuuya behind ahahahaha

and chuuya goes..... what, you're just gonna leave me here when you see i can't walk what. but seriously, his line is: "Oi. Lend me a shoulder."

(so.... dazai and chuuya were together till daybreak, in time for chuuya to wake up, for the spoonDI cover to be shot, for them to have matching bruises on their lips in that photo, huge smiles in their faces, for dazai to change clothes, for chuuya to be unable to walk.......... i don't to say they banged in the rubble, but they totally banged in the rubble.)

- dazai basically saying that, welp i did this keikaku and harmed so many things! - atsushi: but dazai is helping yokohama!!! - Dazai: Do I look like such a good person?

- atsushi.... i want to say it's your trust or that it's your naivete, but...... are you sure you have eyes lol

- dazai reveals that he hopes that shibu managed to fill his boredom and loneliness..... dazai, stop projecting your issues on others. stop helping others with your same issues achieve happiness.... do it to yourself first please.....

- as the ending song plays... we have this scene from ango:

Ango: Given the complexity of the three masterminds' motivations, we still don't have a full picture. Dazai-kun's the same as usual, and demon Fyodor's intentions are impossible to comprehend. But, beyond all the scheming and lying, the incident may fundamentally be very simple. .....like, given the movie. it really is a good summary. all these genius aliens.... they actually have such simple thoughts.

- shibu did all of that, but he just really wanted to see atsushi again. - fyodor did all of that, but he just really wanted to be a bitch and have fun. (and maybe kill all ability users eventually) - dazai did all of that, but he just really wanted to try an apple suicide and be saved just like snow white.

- chuuya looking beautiful in the ending scene, as he talks with mori

Chuuya: Were you aware of the trick, Boss? (*referring to dazai not really dying? and using that antidote pill?) Mori: Dazai-kun was acting on his own, and I expected he would need your help. As a forerunner. Chuuya: So I was an opening act? Mori: Dazai-kun decides the star. (in ODEX: Dazai-kun was the one who decided on the star.) Chuuya: And what do I get in return? Mori: The return of order in this city. Chuuya: The peace of this city, huh? Mori: Good work. Chuuya: You don't need to thank me. It was your order, so I'm just doing my job.

- asdfgj;asd - mori #1 soukoku shipper confirmed. like. even if he has that much faith in dazai's plans (see above), he also has a lot of belief that dazai's plans will work if chuuya's there to help.

and that "dazai decides the star"/"dazai decided (on you) being the star.... and chuuya....... just rolling with it. he's not ok with simply being an "opening act" ahhaahh. and mori knowing that dazai made the plan with chuuya having the starring role. and chuuya Knowing that too.

and here comes chuuya's concept of "reward" again.... does this boy get paid.......

chuuya's reward being yokohama's peace???? is he really part of the mafia??????????? a pure boy. someone give him the yokohama peace prize.

- second to the last scene is fyodor still creeping on them:
