I know the winter updates getting fixed n all but i just gotta say my experience with it. (twisted/toon spoilers ig..???) btw, i have none of these toons! this is based on what i see!

okay first off with Rudie! I don't even have a problem with him, hes a cool toon with a silly personality! decent stats, very fun ability similar to flutters. His twister is also cool, hes the 2nd character to have a glow! except now you have to guess if its brughtney or rudie LOL (i prefer Rudie.. I hate you Brightney stop turning off the lights.) back to him and his personality, Qwel hinted that there was something eating yp at the back of his mind that he cant internally control. when I saw it I thought it was his nose.. and maybe- might be. or maybe its his holiday spirit.. theres barely any interactions on the wiki but he talks about christmas a lot and it kinda looks like some toons don't like it/confused.. i love Rudie though hes so cool 9/10

Hello Chronocrump, I recently stumbled upon your art the other day, and I couldn't stop staring at your gallery.. It makes me realize there is so much thats lacking from my art that I really want to improve on. I felt desperate to contact you, but wasn't sure if it would be rude. I wanted to try to ask you, how do you approach drawing? Do you structure it first, or start with a gesture drawing? Focus on the form or perspective first? Etc My other question might seem strange, but I wanted to ask how do you hold your pencil? Ive learned that different pencil grips can drastically change the quality of someone's art. Thank you for your time. I'm sorry if my message is to long, or you don't want to respond back. I wanted to atleast try, but also let you know that your work has been very inspiring for me to keep trying.

I'm glad to answer your questions, it's seriously no problem. I wanna start by telling you how amazed I was when I checked your profile to see your work. I know you have a huge lack of confidence in it, but your art is genuinely beautiful, and frankly, looking at it, I found it hard to believe that you would be asking me for advice...from my perspective, you're way ahead of me. You're certainly better with color; you might notice I really only post sketches lol. I really don't want to dismiss or downplay your feelings about it, but I have to let you know how I felt looking at it. To me it seems like your brain is telling you your art isn't good enough when it very, very much is.

Anyway, enough gushing from me lol. On to your questions.

Usually when starting a drawing, I very loosely and lightly sketch the overall form of the pose I wanna do. Very rough basic shapes/forms to get everything in its right place before I start really drawing it with confident lines. Even then, all the lines are subject to change; nothing is sacred. To be honest tho, I usually mess up the proportions and have to fix them a bit lol. I try to sketch cleanly and concisely, meaning I try not to draw a lot of lines in a spot that could really be done with just one or two. I'm not super strict on that tho, at the end of the day while I try to draw efficiently, I also want to draw comfortably. So with something like a big circle for example, I'll draw that pretty sketchy. In terms of perspective, I'm trying to get better at it, but when considering how I want to use it in a drawing, it's part of the initial image or idea I have in my head, so I lay it out from the beginning. I do also draw structure lines on the face, just a simple cross to plan where the center of the face will be. Lately I've also tried taking more pictures of myself for pose reference and it works well.

Most of my practice comes from studying my favorite artists and trying to emulate the specific ways they structure their drawings. I should actually be doing dedicated practice sessions with that, but I digress. Recently I've been trying to practice from photos first thing in the morning, tho I'm finding it hard to commit to doing it daily. I just go on pinterest and find cool poses, then draw them, trying to get down the basic shapes and prominent features more than focusing on minute details. I've posted some of these practice sketches on here but there's a few more on my twitter if you wanna see what I'm talking about.

In terms of my pencil grip, I'm not sure...since I was little, I've always had an unusual grip. Looking it up, I guess it's like the "dynamic quadrupod" grip, but with my forefinger farther back. Really the most I try to do is draw less with my wrist and more with my forearm. Some say you should "draw from the shoulder", and that sounds right...I guess it's all about avoiding straining your wrist and getting carpal tunnel lol.

Anyway, I'm flattered that you would ask me for advice. To be honest, it makes me feel like I should have more confidence in my own art. And you should too! I can say that, objectively, your art is very good. I hope my advice was actually helpful and not generic stuff you've heard before lol. Good luck in your art journey.

Nothing gets me into a fiery rage more than thinking about 343 has handled the Halo series after Bungie left it off on such a high note. 1, 2 and 3 were good, ODST and Reach were godlike, and they expanded on the universe quite a few times with books and comics and all that. And then 343 came in and just completely gumbled most of it up. CEA was cool, but basically just kitbashed Reach and upscaled Halo 3 assets together and lost some of the original touch the game had back in 2001.

Halo 4 was, ok? The best part was Cortana's story, going into more depth about rampancy and how it affects AI, especially one that we've known and loved for over a decade at that point. The Forerunners were fucking stupid personally, it's hinted to and LITERALLY SAID IN HALO 3, that humans are forerunners, just after the shitshow that was all the rings firing off. 343 Guilty Spark literally says that Chief is a forerunner, and then they just whipped it around and said "well actually he's a reclaimer because blablabla" ok whatever, they do flesh it out more in expanded works and explain it in Halo 4 so atleast theres that. Del Rio is an asshole to the savior of humanity for no reason. The sudden art style change that makes no sense is stupid, like you could've delayed the change until the Infinity rolled around. The Diadact is just space voldemort turning humanity into NFTs after being on r/nofap for 100,000 years, who then dies pretty unceremoniously to a shit ass grenade in a quick time event.

Halo 5 is.... fucking just Halo 5. The Cortaba story is so bad, why did you bring her back as an antagonist? Why didn't you stick to the marketing that was actually a really cool idea about Chief going rogue and hunting the truth. Where are the Marines? Why do I have to fight the Warden Eternal like 20 times? Better balancing than 4 i guess, but god the plot is just all over the place. And that fight scene with Chief, Chief was abducted as a child and forced into the spartan program and trained to be a cold brutal killer of the UNSC's foes. Without Mjolnir armor he straight up merked 2 ODSTs in hand-to-hand combat. This 7-foot-augmented-out-the-ass man had an equal match in a mass produced Spartan 4? Sure Locke is ONI so he's got some spice to him and he's still a Spartan wearing similar armor to Chief, but come on, you can't tell me a guy who saves humanity for breakfast is on a similar level to Halo Nightfall guy.

Infinite is strange. They basically drop Halo 5's characters for the most part, give Chief new (remastered Mk.6) armor, bring back older models of guns and stuff with a new coat of paint (Reach AR, Battle Rifle, now the DMR) and blow up Cortana and the Infinity within the first like, 30 minutes of the game. Ooooo the Banished except wait after Atriox's not-death they're pretty incompetent and are gettinf roflstomped by Chief and are really only good at killing UNSC off screen. The open world shit was ok, but for Halo i dont think its entirely the best idea to go for whatever Far Cry ass shit they pulled. Bringing back the old designs was really cool and much better than the sterile, clean, sharp edges of 4 and 5. Their armor and weapons looked like brand new toys while Infinite's look more realistic and have a bit more wear and tear to em. But its also missing a ton and just kind of ends off on a weird half note for the story. Like where are they gonna go with this? Idk, its just weird.

343, make more stories without Chief. I know Chief is the figurehead of the franchise, but for god's sake please please please make side stories in the universe. I want to see how humanity recovered after the war, how the different species in the Covenant took the end of the war. Exploring Forerunner sites? Side stories in the human-covenant war with ODSTs and Marines! You could totally make the Harvest campaign into a game! Give us the origin story for Sgt Johnson and how he and others did during the opening months of the conflict! Give us more on the Insurrection! You've done it before, Halo Forward Unto Dawn was actually a really cool movie, why don't you do some more stuff like that??

nobody is going to read this, so I am just gonna put it out there warning: rambling from some fucking guy ever. you have been warned.

life sucks, blah blah blah, but instead of just complaning about that, how about I give you bit explenation as to why. so sit down there one of my 121 followers. If anyone of you read that is and not just clicked follow on one art I made and buzzed off (no offense there, just saying.) Okay so you might ask, why now out of sudden i blow like up that. Here is the answer: See, I have been doing creative stuff like, be it art, writing, music or whatever for past..... lets say 4-5 years. As you might guess, some of these ventures didnt pan out in the end. i mean, its given. It happens. Let me mention some of the things I tried over the years. I tried making a homestuck comic on mspa when I first started doing creative stuff. I managed to get pretty far compared to most projects I will mention, but I didnt finish in the end. Why? I got burned out, because I worked on it full non stop. Then I tried having a cool rp campagin session with pals from discord server I known. That ended in tragedy, especially after one of them out of fucking blue, send a fucking gore of dead person. None of us expected this to happen. Earlier I tried music, couldnt do that thing earlier unless you call "music" by swapping midis with shitty piano font. Well, atleast it didnt end up with a gore.

Then I tried working on some ut aus. Did it even work? HAHAHAHAHAHA, what do you think? Ofcourse, not. Didnt peak interest, because I didnt capture interest basically. Anyways this goes on and on. Deltarune au there, some another rp server there and there (one turned into glorified horny rp out of college setting that I tried initially, pal if you are reading this, sorry but this server just sucked ass) I think you might start seeing a pattern here. You would think eventually. That being "Gee meta, thats sure lot of failures, you must have atleast succed one time BIG right?" Haha, no. Okay I did manage to finish some of my stuff but like. really really low bar stuff. so essentially in the eyes for everyone, nothing. See, most of the failures from these projects came from me doing solo. You would think me teaming up with someone would help? Not really, unless I literally pay them money for it, tough fucking luck. Out of 5 years of me doing creative shit, only 4 people helped me out that I recall. they couldnt helped me out for long in the end, but i appreciated for them when they could. all rest of people? Fucking went ghost and then I was left alone, figuring this shit out myself. It isnt fun knowing that you put trust in someone, only in the end to be alone in this in the end. I wish I was so fucking talented, creative, witty or self efficent as the people i asspire to, the artists i admire who make works of artm writers who can write witty, fun but touching stories. I wish I could be at thier level, so I could make great works of art. But atlas, I am not. I dont seek glory or fame, even if it would be nice. No, I just want people to enjoy creating what I make, to feel like I have impact on the world, that people can share with. to make connections with. Look in the end I am just 20 year old guy from europe, that isnt much good at anything, including social life, apperantly. Only thing I am good at is pixel art, but just barely. I am very much uncreative person. and unconfident and rather hopeless one these days, despite how much I try to hide in fake smiles.

I dont have much better way to end this sort of ramble, besides mentioning tobys recent post from spring newslettter and my view on it. "There's times where it feels like your hopes and dreams are simply slipping away from you. That the things you wanted to achieve are floating away from you in the sky while you lie there, fallen in a crater, your wing torn off, never to grow back. Bitterness grows, and you feel like you may never leave the ground again.

While you look towards as sky, as other people dance in the air beyond your wildest imagination. Its so beautiful, yet so out of your reach. Cries of helps can be heared coming from you from miles in the air. But they all fall on the deaf ears. Or maybe its just out of bliss ignorance? You cant say. You want to join them, join them so badly. To feel like you could finally be a part of something greater. To feel like you could belong somewhere. To be cared. But you just cant. It wasnt meant to be made. Resentment grows inside your soul. As that feeling rots inside you more and more. Part of you wishes this feeling to be gone, to never be felt. But the other part, says otherwise. It wants that liberty desperately, looking with its green eyes at them. Why they? Why not me. Why not me at all!?. You just want what they have yourself. It grows inside you more and more as you allow it to. You eventually consdering tearning off other people wings. Even if you cant ever fly agian, doesnt mean you should be the only who suffer like this right? And why do they deserve to fly, anyway. They would be better off without that, you think. Plus, even in this state. You know you can do this option. To cripple someone, just to make yourself feel better even if its only for a moment. But then you realise. If you ever would reach to that point. Whatever drive you initally, would be just gone. In fear of your insecurities and weakness. You decide to lie up, instead. Rendering your shackled and vulerable. Locked inside, with no way or out. Perhpas in the end.... Its better if you dont fly at all...

Y'know thinking about it, was there any lore reason for Emma and Noah to get a special battle stage when they entered the library? Or even really context wise?

Like, Love Town is a big boss fight, the most powerful opponents of Urban Plague, Philip developed ego, meaning he was experiencing extreme emotions which obviously affects the library, and reflects in the crying children when it's all broken down.

But Emma and Noah? They're just kinda silly guys, they're just chilling. When they make their way to the library they have a friendly little chat with Angela, from my understanding their emotions aren't really too intense in the moment.

I'm pretty sure in one of the realization dialogues (I've only done them recently, but my memory still isn't the best) it's said that the reason the library will sometimes change and become a reflection of the outside world is due to the strong emotions of powerful guests.

Again, before this point, Tomerry was very strong (and had been around for, like, 100's or 1000's of years), and Philip was developing ego, but Emma and Noah, while still powerful, aren't too substantial (atleast from my perspective) and they aren't exactly feeling intense emotions, but they still get a special stage/background.

Apart of this may be me completely underestimating Emma and Noah, while I don't see them as much of a challenging fight, they could very well still have been intended to be a boss by project moon, and actually, the special boss music and background supports that, in a way.

But still, there's also the context of what emotions they're feeling, why the library is being affected to change it's layout? Project Moon doesn't typically just do things because it would be cool or interesting without reason in there games, especially if it would conflict with the lore. Almost anything that happens gameplay wise also has a lore reason, either big or small.

This could just be making stuff up here, but they worked with their smaller art budget with Lobotomy Corp by making it apart of the lore that you're looking through everything though a cognitive filter (I don't know this for sure though, it's just a guess about the more stylised art and generally simpler look for lobotomy corp, and the much lower budget at the time. As far as I know they could have had that planned at the start and just went with the simpler style because of the cognition filter), your resets in L corp are one of the biggest parts of the story, they won't do stuff if it doesn't make sense.

But ofcourse, that's not to say it can't make sense for Emma and Noah, or that it doesn't, it could be possible that due to the 8 o'clock circus being a distortion, and Emma and Noah being affected by the distortion, it directly affected the library, like earlier, Philip's ego affected the library, and so did the crying children. Those examples are both tied to the direct source of those ego/distortion, meaning there's a large amount of emotion connected to them, whereas Emma and Noah have just been affected by a distortion, it's still possible.

One last thing, this isn't meant to be taken too seriously. Ofcourse, it's still a serious question and thought, but it's not a criticism of the game. Instead, it's more something to think about, having fun thinking about the lore and reasons why things happen.

Along with that, I still haven't finished the game, and I could very well end up with an answer later, and even if I don't, it's not necessary. Getting upset over a small detail like this would be nitpicking, in my opinion.

Finally watched the entirety of The Monkey King 2023 and I have opinions/thoughts/theories. Spoilers below.

Thoughts:

Voice acting amazing. Jimmy O Yang really gave this Monkey a heart and vunerability. Also loved Bowen Yang as the Dragon King. Did not expect the Buddha to be Dr Henry Wu (BD Wong) but it felt right.

Art amazing, esp the 2d sequence and the fight scenes. Loved Monkey and the Dragon King's designs. Not so much for the gods tho; They looked too much like Illumination characters at times - tho it did give them a little uncanniness you'd expect from a celestial.

This version of Wangmu is def the Jade Emperor's mom or something, and not his wife. The Queen Mother of the West deserves an absolutely show-stoppingly regal design, not a cartoony witch vibe.

From the poisoned peach scene I can confirm; this SWK is a flirty drunk and has the worst pickup lines. "You must be from the Dang Dynasty!" anyone? X3

No Master Subodhi, Stalwart Generals, Brotherhood, Erlang, or the Furnace in this version sadly, but I have my theories below. Monkey does mark/pee on the Buddha's hand tho so they kept that part in. XD

Theories + future character ideas below read more >;3

The four baby monkeys we see at the beginning listening to the Elder are the Stalwart Generals. It was their childhood group name and sometimes they even included Monkey/Shihou (Monkey would die for them for this brief act of kindness). The one that got taken by the Demon of Havoc either got away/was saved, or is tied to the idea that "Marshal Liu = Liu'er Mihou/Six Eared Macaque", potientially giving Netflix Macaque a personal grudge against his Monkey King (he indirectly ruined/ended his life).

Lin is 100% a Golden Cicada incarnation. Girl was personally chosen at the to act as the Buddha's voice to the Monkey King. Plus her being the last face Monkey sees before the mountain is sealed mirroring how Tripitaka is the first to greet him 500 years later?

Hc that Monkey did have a Brotherhood of demons during his 100 Demon slaying binge, but it fell apart badly like a rock band. Hence why he's seen defeating his DBK in the 2d sequence.

The reason why we don't see Master Subodhi, is because this Monkey needs to have his "awakening to nothingness" while on the Journey, and not before. Hence why he's never called Sun Wukong (atleast in the english version), since "Sun Wukong" literally means = "monkey awakened to nothingness". It's likely this Tripitaka will be the one to name Monkey, if Subodhi doesn't appear in any hypothetical sequel that is.

I fear that it might mean that the Furnace and Erlang may play a huge role in Monkey's future character arc if they ever makes an appearance. We do see a similar looking cauldron in Wangmu's lab (I guess they gave her Lao Tzu's job), so hopefully its not a red herring.

Someone pointed out that Netflix Monkey's hair looks like a Prince Rupert Drop (aka an extremely hard tadpole/tear shaped drop of molten glass that distintergrates if the tail is damaged) and thats such a cool character design thing. From this, his LEM counterpart def should have an obsidian (sharp, hard, but brittle quickly cooling lava) theme going on to both contrast and compare to Monkey's glass. I love me the rock imagery in the film.

Bajie's brief appearance looked pretty young/piglet-esque. I hear that there's an upcoming Xiyouji film about Bajie, so maybe this form is still currently a young recently-reincarnated piglet instead of a whole hog.

I would love for a reappearance of Red Girl in the future. Let this baby go Samadhi Fire on a monkey.

I hope for a hypothetical Netflix version of Ao Lie/Bai Longma that is an actual character, and not just a pretty prop. Maybe tie in his connection to the Dragon King (maybe he's Ao Lie's uncle or dad) in the film?

I was 27 when i first discovered Night in the Woods. I was piqued by its art style and charm. I had been needing something to jist BE with. I didnt newd achievements, i didnt need scores or mechanics. I didnt need difficulty or grandiose stories that stretch across the stars and peirce hearts unseen.

I needed a game i could sit with. Take my time and just relax, and enjoy.

Gregg was a favorite early on. Its easy to see why. Everyone should have a Gregg in their life. But i quickly grew attached to Bea. I was drawn to why she waa so...snide with Mae. And given their supposed history i felt so inclined to learn more aboit Bea. And try to reform what friendship was there before things when caput.

Im not going to talk about the rest of those adventures or stories. What i want to talk about is how i am now 3 years into my transition, and playing this game through for the 3rd time now...and its so fucking cathartic in a way.

I related to Mae alot, given how i felt when i was 20. I dont have derealisation but i do get anxiety and depression. Its been notoriously bad recently.

And in a world entering the year 2024 on calander, with so much going on all the time, everywhere. I know i can go back to Possum Springs. And just try to emjoy life and get through another day.

Its not real, but i cant get out much. Adulting will do that to you. Capitalism has made it difficult regardless of age. And those trips with Gregg to the park and having a mini knife fight. Or going to the mall with Bea and shoplifting because "cool kids stickin it to the man" or finding out why Angus doesnt talk with his family much these days.

It brings me back to a time when things did seem uncertain. When i was scared and anxious. But when i also had this bravado to see another day and put 1 foot infront of the other. Because Life.

Those days are so difficult now. You go to work and then feel like super heated glass being doused in water. And you cant stay at work. You cant. Youre akin to a mannequin at that point. You have to go home because youll end up hurting yourself somehow, intentionally or otherwise.

And this great sadness overtakes you and its joined with mania and you just...dont know how youll get through the day. Or if you even want to wake up the next day.

I've been listening to the NitW OST for the past.... 2-3 days now. And all the tunes are so...simple in their construction and melodies. But they hold this special place in my heart. Maes House especially. It reminds me that my house and family are not like Maes. And i wish they were. Atleast in how the game portrays them presently. I cant even go upstairs to get food unless i cover up now or dress in modest fashion because transition had made people uncomfortable around me expressibg my body in ways i nevwr could before. Not in sexual fashion but showing a bit more skin and wearing tighter clothes and such. And its an insidious uncomfortable they demonstrate. They dobt say it vocally most times to try and be respectful i guess. But i can feel those thoughts burring into me and the....velcro fuzzy distortion that builds between us.

I cant be myself and they don't want me to, because it makes them uncomfortable.

So ive been going back to Possum Springs. And talking with Gregg and reading his enthusiasm helps alot. "I have a friend whos super supportive and would punch someone out for me"

A world where im not so...beaten by life and wanting to hope for a better day bit having to fight tooth and nail for every good day i have. thoughts and feelings about the halloween specials?

not sure if this is like, thoughts on spooktacular as a concept as a whole (which i guess can be summed up as "used to be my favorite thing on the channel, slowly losing interest") or on all of them as a whole, so i'm just going to uhhhhhhhhh. yeah

Spooktacular i - obviously it's not amazing because it's the first one and in that sense also falters story-wise but like. dude it's so much better than anything else on the channel in 2016. it feels like during that one week break something clicked and the channel stopped being mid (the last few rips before title theme and ending were also p solid but the stuff before that. yeeeeeaaaahhhh) it was cool that that was woody's first main appearance. also the album art had no right being that good. otherwise its mostly ok yea that sure is the first one

Spooktacular ii - uhhh feature presentation is a little silly i like it but it's also. yeahhh. what was the deal with them putting woodman like that. and otherwise it was mostly just spooktacular 1..... 2

Ahhh, it’s always nice to start off with a naming gag that gets it, you know? That these things can be vehicles for characterization. Instead of the predictable “wowzers that sure was a rude thing you just did” it goes “hey this character is laughing at the absurd name you’ve given him, and also he has athsma attacks sometimes, kind of,” which does WONDERS for getting me up to speed (besides the introduction on the previous page) for what kind of characterization our main STOCKHOLMED (is that even a word?) protagonist is going to be going into this FANADVENTURE with.

The art is also, like, a different kind of good than other art I’ve seen? Like, it’s got these…pixelated outlines that gives everything a kind of faux 8bit look but not really? So, that’s cool to note, I guess. Also on the presentation side, our protagonist almost blinds himself at one point and then the screen turns into this cool effect that’s a bit like 3d glasses, but without the 3d. You know, the weird double vision kind of stuff. It’s cool, even if a little bit indescribable, or atleast *I* can’t describe it.

Okay the downloading bar was a really good bit. I love it when somebody does that camera switch swap intense staredown gag from Homestuck. It’s always good. Okay maybe this wasn’t QUITE that gag but it was close enough.

So. Having read it. I can say that this is a pretty well made, engaging fanadventure, and if you’re interested in it, you should check it out. The author clearly knows how to make engaging compelling sequences of fiction.
